Reviews of Pioneer Theatre Company at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre
Very nice theater. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The seats are stadium style, but not staggered, so I had to lean to my side to look around the guy's head in front of me.
We saw Elf - The Musical. I'll review that more indepth somewhere else, but it was a so-so play done by great actors.
We thoroughly enjoyed one of the best plays we've ever seen. I put "Shucked" 2nd to "Lion King" at 1st, and ahead of "The Book of Mormon" at 3rd. This story is filled with laughter, a few tears, and incredible singing performances. I compare it to "Music Man". The play is similarly set in the Midwest, where an 'out of towner' sets his sites on taking advantage of their situation.
Don't miss your chance to see this play. Some of my enthusiasm may be due to 'Covid deprivation', but, I think you'll agree with me.
Went and saw A Christmas Story this year and it was awesome! They were very talented and I loved the atmosphere. The building itself is great, lots of restroom, seats in the auditorium are comfy and you have lots of leg room which is unheard of in most theaters.
Pioneer Theater always presents high quality productions. They are professional, enjoyable, and offer a variety of shows—family friendly, for more adult audiences, world premieres, musicals, and dramas, and comedies. Don’t miss their season’s offering. My company @Front Row Reviewers is privileged to serve them by reviewing their wonderful productions. Pioneer Theatre is a marvelous addition to Utah Arts. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
They always do a great job with their productions. I especially love the musicals, though in general, pretty much everything is exceptional. If you're visiting in the next few weeks, be sure to check out Shucked. Had a riot of a time there and would gladly go back.
Amazing, beautiful and authentic theater.
Highly recommended.
Perfect sound, without being too loud.
Well maintained and great staff.
Also much more affordable and intimate than other options around.
Get some culture in your life!
Such an amazing theatre. I've seen several performances there and never been disappointed! Love we that I get to see some pre-screening plays as well. It's also amazing that theybtakenthw time to do matinee shows for local theatre classes!
I really enjoy going to the place here, you sit close it's not that crowded and the plays are usually very good with great performers. I actually prefer it over the eccles Center which is way too large. In fact I think the best shows I've seen have been at the Pioneer theater better than anything I've seen it Eccles it's a better stage and a better set up
My parents have season tickets, the plays are always really well done and the sets are amazing! We recently saw Shucked and it was probably the funniest play I've ever seen, my stomach hurt from laughing.
The Pioneer theater is a nice spot to see a live show. The theater itself is on the small side so you'd be hard pressed to find a bad seat. The theater is in the middle of the U of U campus so parking can be unpleasant as there isn't a dedicate lot for the theater. There were refreshments available in the lobby during intermission, but the lobby is pretty cramped with only a few chairs. The prices for the show we attended were pretty high for the quality of the venue and production which were average to slightly below average. I'd recommend this theater, but you can probably find better options if you look around. There are better quality theaters in and around Salt Lake for a lower price.
The theatre is absolutely gorgeous. Sit in the back if you don't want to be near people. Hosts are super nice.
This was the first time to see a play at the theater. It was a comfortable space. The play, A Distinct Society, was well done.
Very nice and organized venue, but the production, actors and choreography? Wow!
We're new to the area, so this was our first time ar Pioneer Theater and we were excited and glad to experience yet another great theater option in the Salt Lake Valley. The facility was excellent with great sound, lighting, and seating, and the production was outstanding! The visibility was great from the balcony where we were seated for this production of Hello Dolly. We'll definitely be back!
Great place to watch a show. Pioneer Theater Company always puts on a great performance.
Was disappointed for what I paid. Can easily go other places for better quality for the same or cheaper prices.
Great plays! Not a bad seat in the house...great community based actors and actresses.
Saw The Glass Menagerie. Great production. The theatre was quite nice as well. The concessions didn't seem like a ton of options but I never really get concessions anyway.
So professional and well done! Thrilled to have seen Sweeney Todd! The acting and musicality and the set were astounding and the voices -- sublime.
Great theater! Loved the new play "Shucked". I think it will be a hit
Great theater, great memories
This theatre is top notch and the performances are fantastic. I love that they do shows you don't see at every other theater in town. There is always something new to see and the acting and directing is so high quality.
Now playing Sucked a new musical and workshop for Broadway next year. Excellent, see this before it's gone your chance to see something before it plays on Broadway.
Always oozing with talent. Fantastic productions. Great value!
Hello Dolly was spectacular. I had never been to Pioneer Theater and was so impressed with the costuming, music, choreography. The show was stunning.
This is a gem of a local performance theater and was a complete surprise to me. The sets are usually amazingly well constructed and presented. The casting is usually really great and every performance I've been to in the past two years has been well worth the money for the ticket. It's not quite to the standards of Broadway shows, but it's nowhere near as pricey as the Broadway shows, either. The seats are a bit old and uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time, but it's a trade-off for some very good performances at a reasonable cost.
Professional theatre company. Always does a good job, though the latest managing director seemed to have a strong preference to hiring east-coast performers at all costs, rather than our extensive local talent--it seemed like the appearance of recruiting remote actors was more important than putting on the best show. With that PTC began to lose some of its shine.
We no longer have season tickets, even though we had to give up some of the best seats in the house.
Perhaps the new management crew will return to putting on the best show rather than being able to feather their cap and attend self-paid award ceremonies.
That being said, they've have put on some fantastic shows. One of the finest was one I didn't even want to see; PTC has a tendency to put on about one play per year that seems intended to make their mainly middle-to-upper class white audiences feel uncomfortable.
Though often very well-done, I have a limit to how much of that I want to sit through. I spent a decade in college; I feel like I've had enough lectures. One year they were doing a rock-musical about bipolar disorder and I was afraid it was going to be another "Touch(ed)" or a similar story. We agreed that we would would try it, but probably leave at intermission.
It was "Next To Normal" and I became an instant fan. Judy McClane gave a stunning performance as Diane; we tried to get tickets to see it again the following week, but it turned out our season tickets were for one of the last performances. Buying the Broadway recording was a disappointment because Alice Ripley's Dianne didn't come close to the performance of McClane at PTC. And it wasn't just her; all the actors, the musicians, everything was solid and on-the-mark. Even the minimalist sets were well done and well-utilized. It was one of the finest productions I have ever seen, and here I had no desire to go to any "rock opera".
With just perhaps a couple exceptions, I would recommend any PTC production as a quality show and generally quite affordable.
The productions, actors and sets are fantastic, always very well done. Each season's choices of shows are top notch & diverse, from very large musicals to small intimate settings.
The staff is always pleasant. Tickets prices reasonable. Most seats have good viewing. It can be difficult to hear if you are in the balcony.
They always have great plays. The concession line is pretty long but there is enough bathrooms that we weren't waiting in line. Parking isn't bad as long as you don't mind a short walk.
I like to review the artwork in the theatre between shows here something about their collection selections are always quite interesting. Depending on the performance we are seeing this review would change drastically. I have seen some excellent shows here and I have seen some that put me to sleep. This is an excellent local theatre but you have to be selective on the shows you see. If you're getting good seats last minute my experience is it's not worth it.
Incredible production quality and exceptional box office staff! So helpful!
We saw "Something Rotten", It was so wonderfully done. And theater is an amazing place to see a play. The parking is a little crowded and the seats are a little tight but still a 5 star experience.
Wow, what a place. I saw "The Play That Goes Wrong" here and it was fabulous. The theater was comfortable and it was nice to have the leg room, which is in short supply in other theaters around. i was in the front, so sound was not an issue but I will say that if you were in the back, it would be harder to hear because without the mics, the sound doesn't travel as far. But outside of that, it is a wonderful venue and I am looking forward to going back.
A really nice performing hall. We saw Elf the musical here. The play itself wasn't that great, but it was overall a nice venue. I would be interested to see a better play here.
Went to see something rotten. Loved it. What a wonderful show to take your mind off the on going news. Wish more of their plays were like it. Up beat.
Great local productions. Excellent staff. Awesome coffee service. Highly recommend supporting U of U and Pioneer Theater.
I've always loved the performances here. I have gone to some plays I think just aren't great plays but Pioneer Theatre Company always does an excellent job. Loved Count of Monte Cristo and the Last Ship especially (I has a soft spot for musicals). Recently saw the Glass Menagerie, and while it was a downer it was really well done. The singing and acting quality is superb, and the prices are reasonable.
There is not a bad seat in the whole theatre. I prefer to sit center and forward but I've been way in the back and on the upper level and it was still a good view.
The theatre is pretty, and I like being able to view the exhibit on the upper floor either while waiting for the show or during intermission.
Tickets are easy to reserve online or by phone. The Flex Pass is a GREAT deal!
Pioneer Theatre ranks with Hale Center Theatre as my favorite theatre locations in the valley.
This is a professional theatre venue that nearly always produces spectacular theatre. The sets are creative and stunning. The quality of the performances is top tier. There is not a bad seat in the house. Season tickets are worth every penny. At times, shows with questionable thematic elements, language, etc., do pass through. However, this theatre is a fantastic place for entertainment.
The Pioneer theatre puts on a great show. I have been to many plays here and I always enjoy it. They always have a talented cast and the crew and staff keep everything running smoothly. My favorite plays that I have seen here are “Twelfth Night” and “The play that went wrong”.
Incredible value for the price. I've never been disappointed! Pioneer Theatre productions are always fresh and interesting, staff is friendly, and the acting is superb. Seats could be more comfortable, but it's an older venue. Also, donations to their Pioneer Theatre Guild (can find online via social media) are tax- deductible!
Wonderful place to see a play. All seats are good and the productions have been enjoyable. I find the staff to be welcoming and kind.
I have thoroughly enjoyed every play I have scene here. The sets are very well done and varied. Students can purchase discounted tickets at the door for 5 dollars up to two tickets. A good variety of plays are performed each season. You can see Shakespeare or more contemporary works, like Fences. The best place to park is the stadium lot, which is about a 5 minute walk from the theater.
We saw Sweeney Todd on Halloween night and it was AMAZING! It was pricey (we were in second row) but it was worth it! I got a free drink since I came in my costume. They were great at performing and the orchestra played beautifully! The scenery and special effects were spectacular!I just wish people would have manners and shut up during the performance.
PTC is killing it! I'm so glad I bought season tickets in 2018 and renewed for 2019. Every show is good. Every show!
Delightful!! The actors and actresses are magnificent!! The staging is perfect!! An absolutely delightful way to spend an evening.
Very funny and always have an amazing cast! My most recent visit was to see "The Play That Goes Wrong" where there was audience participation and a fabulous set! Concessions were also very reasonable and had a nice variety.
This is the place to see art in its highest form. Quality productions that are diverse and often original plays. Every season includes a nice mix of musicals, comedies and dramas. The set pieces are incredible and the acting is always top notch. This theatre most definitely lives up to its stellar reputation.
Excellent, excellent venue. Saw The Music Man 5/9/15 and loved the gorgeous sets and period-specific costumes. The leads were amazing, as was all the cast, and overall an amazing experience. The corridors are a little dated and old but the auditorium was excellent. Definitely will go again and again!
I have been a season ticket holder for many years. I think Pioneer Theatre Company does a great job in putting on a wide variety of various plays. I highly recommend everyone buy tickets! I particularly love the musicals! I think their prices are very reasonable compared to costs for similar sorts of entertainment in Utah and elsewhere. Their staff is friendly and helpful if you want to book a season ticket pass. I have the 5 of 7 plan and my friends and I think it is the best way to see excellent theater productions throughout the year. And if Alabama Story is still playing, I give it 5 stars!
Great place to see a show. The theater is small enough that there isn't really a bad place to sit. We saw Christmas at Pemberly and the acting was great and the scenery was far nicer than expected. The theater is on the campus of the University of Utah and has plenty of parking to the South of the theater. Not a bad place to go for a night out on the town. #culture #theater #play
I've been to many plays at the Pioneer Theatre during my time as a student at the U. They offer great prices for students (either free or $5 per ticket, and you can get two tickets for one student ID)! The seating is adequate and there are snacks available before the show and during the intermission. However, it would be nice if the bathrooms were bigger to accommodate more guests.
Attended the play 'A Lion In Winter' at the Pioneer Theatre last night as a birthday gift from my beloved daughter, it was wonderful! I had been awaiting this play since last fall and i was not disappointed. The actors and sets were fabulous, all the costumes except Elanore of Aqutaine were fabulous, I'm not sure why they dressed her in such a drab gown. I would definitely recommend this play to anyone. Had so much fun!
Amazing performance of an original holiday play, Christmas at Pemberly. Absolutely 10 stars! Took my mom, teenage daughter, and my husband. A complete delight! Second row seats were amazing! Now I want season tickets to Pioneer!
It has great shows. I went to see ain't miss behavin and it was so good. Covid has taken a tile on it but they do their best to make their shows a magical experience.
Great performers, not a bad seat in the house.
My first time attending a play. Hello Dolly. Awesome cast and play. It won't be my last.
Something Rotten is an hilarious, funny show! Run to see it...Especially in our today's sad world we need some laughter. Thank you, Pioneer Theater!
I worked at Pioneer from 2002 - 2018 and consider it a home and a family. PTC works hard to put on wonderful shows, of course, but they also work really hard to have a lot of variety in their programming, and to bring brand new or premier performances. I can't recommend them enough.
Nice theater. Enjoyed the play. The lobby definitely needs sprucing up, it was shabby and not an enjoyable place at intermission. I assume their money goes into their productions, but seems like they could get better furniture and carpet.
we had season tickets this year and for the most part the performances were good, but access and comfortable seating is not very good. Of course part of the charm is the age and history of the building, but it is still difficult to sit through a complete performance without being cramped and stiff when it is done.
the actors are always very good, and for the most part the plays are excellent but at times the content is not what I would like.
I doubt we renew our tickets this year.
There experience at this Theatre was fine I was a bit disappointed in the acting though, with the bios of the performers I expected higher quality of feeling in the dialog. The play was The Lion In Winter which is one of my favorites because of the supberb acting of O'Toole, Hepburn and Hopkins. Still it was an acceptable outing.
A great place to go and see theater! They have a fantastic facility and they produce top quality shows. They typically cast a large number of actors from New York and Chicago. Well worth the ticket price!
AMAZING! performances are just wonderful. I just saw the musical Cagney last week and I've seen grease and a couple other things here. But quick and easy to get into the building and right to your seats.
Great theater , intermission there is a snack bar. It's back a little from the main road and parking is shared with other buildings.
Had a great time there on a spouse date. A bit pricey but well worth it. Get season tickets or order online single night in advance
The productions here are awesome! I highly recommend seeing them!! I've seen Sweeney Todd and Miss Bennet: Christmas in Pemberly there, and it was so fun! Many of the actors in their productions have been in multiple national Broadway tours. The deets are amazing too! Just get down there. :)
Great local theatre with professional shows
Went to see "Sweat". A very fine, emotional, production that really makes you think about what is happening in this country. Seems this is no longer the land of opportunity, rather a land of rich and poor.
The the theatre is starting to show its age, but still a wonderful place to see a show.
PMT sets a high standard for live theater. You can always expect a great performance with the highest quality performers.
Show selection is usually avant guard, pushing boundaries or delivering a new take on classics. I've always enjoyed the experience at this theater.
Hands down one of the best local theater options in Utah. They offer a good variety of shows each season. There is always a few family friendly options, something to push the edges and get you thinking, a musical or two, and usually a bit of Shakespeare. Amazing set designs, costumes, and general production value. Highly recommended!
The quality of the productions is always great. However, their audio system is quite poor. Guests who need to use the theater's hearing equipment will be disappointed because they won't be able to understand much.
I have been going here for a while now. They really do high quality productions, the cast, staging, and sound are all excellent. You can purchase a rush pass (~ $100, I think) and use it as many times as you like to get in to the theater about 1 hour before performances.
Check the website for a ratings guide to the performances - sometimes they have productions that use course language or themes, and if you have children it may not be appropriate.
You can buy small snacks (apples, candy bars, hot chocolate, coffee, etc.) and take them into the theater with you.
One thing to be sure to check out is all the artwork in the theater before the production and at intermission. They have art pieces from artists around the region submitted to view and sometimes purchase.
I cannot recommend the shows here enough. Professional shows that are as strong as Broadway, with content and variety that keeps me continually craving for another show there. The staff are always amazingly kind and helpful, and the theatre is just beautiful. 6 stars!
Great Acting! Pioneer may present the most consistent and exceptional performances in the Salt Lake Area. Actors are selected mostly from New York and often feature Broadway cast members. Local actors are also featured, but the national casting calls produce better results that other "local only" theaters in the area. The lighting, sets and costumes are always exceptional. The sound in this theater leaves MUCH to be desired. It is not the crew, they do the best with what they have. It is the house sound system, mostly the speakers and amplification. The theater has been known to supplement the poor house system with additional equipment for some demanding musical productions, but not often enough. That being said, Pioneer provides the closest Broadway experience in the Salt Lake area.
LOVED: the show and the actors. Did NOT love: the narrow seats. Also I don't think there is an excuse to not have microphones on your actors with a play that is all about the witty verbal interaction between the characters. My friend who is a little hard of hearing said she maybe caught half of what was said. Even I, with no hearing problems, struggled throughout, and missed many lines. It definitely detracted from our enjoyment of what was a truly delightful performance.
We had an excellent experience recently at Pioneer theater and would highly suggest going there to catch a play!
Small, quaint theater always bringing to patrons outstanding talent and great plays. Plenty of parking. Support the local arts!
PTC’s current run of “Cagney” is superb. With music and lyrics written and performed by Robert Creighton, the cast sings and dances it’s way through the life of a legend with Broadway and Hollywood as it’s backdrop. Go now before it’s Broadway debut. When it wins its share of Tony awards, you’ll be able to boast that you saw it first!
Talented performers but the theater is lacking and they did not mic the performers to some of the plays I've been to and I missed about a 1/3 of the dialogue. I will not continue go here if the sound quality isn't improved.
Great plays. I am a guy from outback Australia who normally not into the arts but this is the 3rd year I have season tickets. They always do a great job. Very entertaining
Paige Davis was fantastic in HELLO DOLLY!
Are you KIDDING ME??!!!? This production of Sweeney Todd was INCREDIBLE!! Aaaand THIS was JUST their final dress. Seriously people, these productions just keep getting better and better. It's probably about time you invested in your community (and yourselves a little bit like I did lol) and get some season tickets. TOTALLY WORTH IT!
I am a season subscriber with a handicapped friend. The access is good, the theatre is comfortable, staff is nice, parking is adequate but not generous and handicapped parking is quite limited. The performances are very professional.
Saw a good musical there the other day. It was good music but quite vulgar language. I thought they were playing to a more family atmosphere but that doesn’t seem to be the case. It seems to fit the adult demographic better.
I've been there many times over the last 3 years to watch shows such as Newsies, Once, Sweeney Todd, etc. Their shows do not disappoint!! Except Christmas in Pemberly yikes! Snacks range from 1-5$ and I heard the profits go to the actors.
Went to see the musical Elf which was quite entertaining
Beautiful historic theater on the U of U campus. Roomy seating, great views. We saw Sweeney Todd. A bizarre and chilling story, but with great acting, beautiful music and a breathtaking set.
Broadway quality theater in Salt Lake City. And I say that having seen more than 100 shows on New York's Broadway. PTC has fantastic scenery and lighting, professional actors, and great sound. A real gem in the heart of the Wasatch mountains....
They have had some great shows. Has everyone been better than any other version ever done no but they are really good and most of the problems are really theater guy nictpicky so for a casual audience it will be fantastic.
Pioneer used to be high quality theater. The last few years have seen a slip in quality of material being presented and production quality. As a fourth generation season ticket holder, this is very disappointing.
Just saw production of Sweeney Todd. We've also been there for Dracula. We sat on the balcony both times and each time felt like we saw and heard everything. There is not a bad seat in the house!
This is an incredible company. The last several shows I've seen here have been truly amazing. Everything from the actors, to sets, to costumes, to music feels truly professional. Zero "community theater" vibe to it.
Great theatre / musical performances, and also comfy chairs as well!
The shows I've seen here have been excellent. Broadway caliber, for sure. I appreciate how intimate the venue is for being a professional theatre company. Highly recommended.
Truly the best and closest to broadway theater experience in Utah. I just attended sweeney Todd and my razor is still swinging high. Thank you pioneer for all the art you bring to our valley.
Great performances and "show must go on" attitude. Even though one of the main characters suffered an injury she continued and finished the show. Well done!
A christmas Story opening night, what a show!!!
Excellent!!!
Looking forward to the new season.
Great performances and sets.
Nice theater, first on I've been in with good leg room. Show quality was fantastic. Only thing that could use work is parking, but that could be said for anywhere near the University.
Very good
Just saw an AMAZING performance of The Music Man as put on by the Pioneer Theatre Company! George Dvorsky's voice and look as Prof. Harold Hill was so darn close to Bruce Campbell it was like watching Bruce Campbell in The Music Man!! Simply perfection! Robert Anthony Jones was the most stunning Marcellus Washburn I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing and reminded me a heap of how I would imagine the part would have been played by Nathan Lane! Legendary! We were moved to tears by Wally Inkley's Winthrop Paroo! Amazing performance by the entire cast and crew and the amazing Orchestra! Thank you Christopher Roberts for allowing me to accompany you to the perfect performance of this play to be your first time seeing it live. BRAVO! BRAVO! WELL DONE!
Parking was easy this time. Seats were good, even in the balcony. Theater is a great little venue! Good acoustics and lighting.
Comfortable, affordable, free parking available
How Pioneer Memorial Theatre ruined Christmas:
My wife recently purchased tickets to PMT's performance of Les Miserables as a surprise Christmas present for me. She often states that I'm impossible to surprise, and difficult to shop for. She thought she had found the perfect gift in theater tickets. She specifically stated that she would pick up the tickets at the box office since I'm often the one who checks the mail. PMT mailed the tickets. I saw them, and the surprise was ruined.
We called the box office to see what our options were. The manager was just leaving for the day, but promised to call the next morning. Two days later, we still hadn't heard from her and had to call back. She told us the best she could offer was a free cookie and drink at the show.
Needless to say, we're returning the tickets. We don't want to give PMT our business after getting treated so poorly. We're very disappointed that we won't get to see the show because PMT cares so little about its patrons.
Absolutely awesome! Mama Mia was fabulous. Great evening, good sound, fun play. You have ear worms for days. Dancing queen....Mama Mia.....
It is my wife and I favorite place to see some great plays. We see at least one play each season.
Thursday, February 20, I saw the preview of Much Ado About Nothing. It was beautiful and so perfectly presented except for one thing. The wolf pelt on Antonio must have been real. I suspect the mountain lion, the raccoon hats of the children and the skunk hat on Dogberry were real also. I was so disturbed by the wolf that I could not concentrate and enjoy the performance. You have made a political mistake. I have spent so much time and money supporting Defenders of Wildlife in an epic battle to preserve their presence in the wild that I am disturbed that you would allow such thing to be displayed on the stage. Instead of going home satisfied with this play, I went home upset and I still am.
Season ticket holders for years. Love the quality of productions here, especially the ones that force me to think! Very best regional theater.
Great shows all the time. They bring in amazing talent and utilize the local talent really well as well. Not a bad seat in the house either.
"Hello, Dolly " wonderful musical.
We go to Pioneer a lot and have not yet seen a show we haven't enjoyed. The show's are not high tech but the quality of the actors is always very high.
First-rate regional theater. Attendance was a little sparse, due to the lingering effects of covid.
Excellent! Easy to find parking, helpful staff, well prepared and skilled cast. We saw The Play That Goes Wrong. Prepare to laugh and be surprised.
Fantastic cast of Once......as good as the Broadway touring company I saw in Toronto a few years back. Recommend it highly.
Sweeny Todd was a true masterpiece. The staging and talent are fantastic. The staff work hard to be helpful. They even have enhanced sound.
Karen Azenberg puts on great thought-provoking shows with amazing casts and broadway style sets that will transform any stage to the place in your imagination.
We enjoyed the Christmas at Pemberley production. Beautiful set, costumes, wonderful story and sweet singing voices.
I'm ok with any seat in this house. sound is good all around. seats are a little tight in the upper balcony, but I just deal with it, most theaters are.
I've never been disappointed in any of PTC's production. And I usually prefer them over the Broadway touring companies that come to Eccles.
Great theatre which shows Broadway-quality musicals and plays, from the classics to edgy theatre.
Worst box office management I've seen. Been season ticket holder for three years. Unprofessional and rude in dealing with a misunderstanding and unwilling to make any effort to keep my business. Too many great venues around to have to deal with bad customer service. Taking my support elsewhere.
I love PTC, I have a rush pass and go to almost every show. Although I feel like the rush pass and the ticket-buying station could be organized little better.
Love PTC!! The sets, choreography, and humor never disappoint. Great work on the current show, Grease!!
Skip the HS play and go to Pioneer theatre. Broadway level productions that are local. Student and individual's under 35 get season ticket discounts.
It was a great show and had a great time with my son at the matenee show for school kids. The performance was well acted
Spectacular performance, and an amazing set.
the play that went wrong is what we saw and the cast was superb.
Mamma Mia! was fantastic. But man the seating is archaic. As much as I'd like to see future shows, it's too uncomfortable for me to return.
Amazing live theater! Wonderful actors and actresses performing on creative sets. Hard to beat anywhere.
We've seen a few productions and they are always well done. If you are a supporter of the arts, this is a great place to go.
Nice little theater. There are very innovative plays here. I wish there was more space to walk around during the breaks though.
I am an usher. Love the performances. Excellent choice of plays, musicals, dramas, comedies. High class theater!
A wonderful venue for watching live theater. "An Inspector Calls" was a fascinating and twisted tale well acted by the PTC actors.
Amazing experience. I love getting a chance to attend a play here. They always do such a great job and have a wide variety of plays.
Good production of Christmas at Pemberly -- a nice way to start the Season. Plus, a very interesting group of paintings on the mezzanine.
I've seen several shows here over the past years, and I am always happy with the productions! I really love going to shows here.
The various staff members were kind and helpful, the theatre is beautiful, and performance of Sweeney Todd phenomenal!
Play was great! Sound needs improvement, you could hardly hear them and we were in row K towards center.
The auditorium is a bit antiquated as far as seating goes. But I had a great time and enjoyed the performance considerably.
Seating is crowded. My legs are cramping by the end of the show.
Subtle jokes to localize the production are usually anti Mormon.
Great shows, friendly staff. I've been volunteering here for years and it's always a fun time
Good shows, go early if you have the pass to get tickets day of. The ticket office is pretty slow.
Great place to watch performances, you will enjoy the actors and actresses, the set is also very beautiful.
Great theatre! Can be quite pricey for a local venue but fun nonetheless.
Phenomenal theater everytime. We have season tickets --best buy in town for theater lovers!
Wonderful Theater we have had season tickets for 2 years never disappoints.
Always excellent productions, lots of legroom, free parking, smaller venue so all seats are good
An excellent venue. Great lineup of theater and affordable too - get the rush tickets!!
World class performers. Amazing wardrobe. I need more Pioneer Theater Company in my life!
