I have my two daughters in the performance company with Backstage and we have been blown away with the professionalism and opportunities provided for these kids! My girls are in plays, dance performances, voice lessons and more! The teachers are top notch and the plays have professional sound systems and effects, it's all phenomenal! We love these guys!

Backstage performing arts is amazing! Every show I’ve been to has been incredible, the owners and employees do a great job and helping the kids develop their talents. They are so professional and as mentioned above, the shows are so well-done. They excel with the lighting, the atmosphere, the makeup, the costumes, the music and all the other elements of an amazing show. I definitely recommend them!

Backstage is a great youth community theater company. They permorm new plays every few months, and they are always fun and well done. They have great sets and costumes and some amazing young adult actors with beautiful voices. This is a great place visit and support our community arts.

Backstage is an outstanding place to be! They not only put on the most spectacular shows, but they care deeply about the individual growth of every student. My 10 year old daughter has been attending classes for three years and has grown in tremendous ways. Her confidence has soared while being a part of the amazing performances. The voice coaching has been fantastic! I love how they challenge and push their students to accomplish more than they think they can. When you walk in you will experience a place of inclusion, and find out very quickly that these professionals are here for the kids. They want the kids to succeed and do their best. I very highly recommend Backstage Performing Arts!!!

We are in our 4th year at Backstage Performing Arts and we love it!! My little girl has grown so much since she first started here and she is always so excited on the days she has class. All of her teachers have been so great; she’s never had one she hasn’t liked. The owners are so hands on and involved with everything which I really love. We commute almost 30 minutes each way because we love the studio so much. I would highly recommend them if your child(ren) are interested in the performing arts!

My daughters participate in the homeschool program they offer and have absolutely loved it! The original play they just performed was hilarious and so cute! The staff there is friendly and caring. It has been a good fit for our family.

We love this studio! We love that it allows our daughter to explore theatre, dance and tumbling all at one place. The studio is affordable and they are great with the kids. My daughter loves going to class. They are also Harmony approved for homeschoolers.

I cannot say enough good things about this performing arts studio. My daughter loves it. She has taken acting, dance, voice, aerial silks. The owners create a professional yet family like atmosphere. The teachers are awesome and my daughter has learned so much. So glad we found Backstage.

We were so impressed with our experience with backstage performing arts. Our daughter was in their Jungle Book show this summer. We loved how they divided up parts so that every kid, no matter how big their role, had plenty of stage time. The costumes, scenery and sound were done very well and made for a polished production. However, what left us most impressed was the culture that they have created at their studio. It was clear that kindness is a priority for them. Doing your best, learning that you can have fun creating, working together, and that you don’t have to be absolutely perfect to be awesome were also things we could see that valued. As a parent, I really appreciated that they were able to promote a ‘doing your best’ work ethic without heaping unrealistic pressure on me or my child. They let kids be kids while teaching them all about the theater and the fun of making a show come together. Our daughter has already asked if she can do another show with them.

I love Backstage! They are a Children’s Theater and Musical Theater studio that teaches singing, dancing, acting lessons and even aerial silks! My daughter wishes she had something like this when she was growing up. The teachers are professionals with degrees and the production teams are so creative! I love seeing their musicals here. They do plays with littles all the way through teens. They even have a Homeschool Program during the day and a Costume Shop where they teach sewing lessons. I’ve enjoyed seeing them expand and I can’t wait to see the next show at BPA.

It is hard to say in one review all the amazing things that the people who run Back Stage do for my kids. They have been an incredible blessing for our family. They are amazing instructors and coaches. They are extremely organized, talented, and professional. I love the quality of their shows and the production quality of their stage and technical crews. My three children have learned so much there and have improved way beyond what we ever expected. Their confidence has grown and their music theory, acting skills and dancing abilities are improving daily. They make everything so much fun and my kids can't wait for their next rehersal. Backstage performing arts is one of the if not the greatest theater academy I have ever been too. Not only do they offer; jazz, tap, ballet, musical performances, aerial silks, voice lessons, for both elementary students up to high school students, they prepare their students for real world acting. They help with auditions to make sure you are as perfect as possible. This studio has really shaped me into the performer I am today and everyone is so kind and welcoming. It feels like family. This is the best place to bring your kids to learn the arts of dance, singing, and theater.

I must say, if I lived within a reasonable distance of Backstage Performing Arts Childrens Theater in Centerville I'd take my grandkids there to learn to sing, dance, & act. That is as a result of having taken my husband, mom, kids & grandkids to various childrens plays. It's clear that everyone involved has passion for the role they play; whether they're teachers, students, volunteers or staff. So fun!!! I also wish I could've done this as a child. No doubt the kids have a blast, build self confidence, self esteem, .... Plus, they discover their talent & natural ability to learn, grow & God given gifts each has. They're AMAZING!

I have been involved with Backstage since it opened and have never seen more happy and confident kids. The owners and teachers truly love what they do, and the kids love it too! I wish I could give 10 stars!!! Their safe handling of COVID is a direct result of their high attention to detail. Classes are small to allow teachers to focus on individual students. Parents have regular and personal contact with the Owners and teachers. If you enroll your kid here, you will be satisfied.

When COVID hit, all our summer plans were cancelled. When I saw Backstage Performing Arts found a way to safely hold their summer camps, I was thrilled! Safety and health were their priority from the start. Masks and social distancing were enforced as well as having small class sizes. It helped my children get used to wearing a mask during class time. I know it will make them more comfortable when school starts. Beyond safety, my kids also had a wonderful time! They came home every day excited to share what they had learned. It made me happy to see them get exercise through dance. They loved the crafts and singing. The instructors were always professional, kind, and ready to answer any questions or concerns I had. We will definitely be coming back in the fall for full classes!

My little boys just finished a one week Jedi camp and they had the most amazing time! The instructors were so thoughtful and great with the kids, and I was super impressed at their performance at the end of the week! Very affordable, they have a beautiful studio, and I can't wait for the next camp we do with them!

We just finished a week long summer performance. The kids learned the play M-F and had two performances on Saturday. It was a great experience for them. I can’t believe how amazing they sounded, and that they all had their parts dialed in. The most incredible part was being able to see my daughters confidence and on stage grow.
