EVERY staff member we encountered here was nice and helpful! From the lady at the door that checked our bags to the ones that pointed us towards the show and the ones helping people find their seats. It just felt so welcoming. The theater is beautifully charming. They have 2 women’s restrooms which is great so although there were a lot of people there was no wait. It was immaculately clean, including the restrooms and I love their practical hooks on the bathroom doors. Their pretzels were warm and just the right balance between crispy and soft inside. Would definitely visit again!

This place is amazing!!! The place has so much history, you can see it every area. I went to see a performance, they have good security and the staff check everything and direct you to the area you need to go. The also sell some food like pretzel. Good place to go and see a great performance.

One of the best theaters I have attended in a long time. I have traveled from Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Boston, and New York City. And this by far is on my top 10 list.
My only issue is the security. When someone has an ‘all access pass’ and it’s part of the media and an influencer on Instagram and YouTube. They should be allowed in to do an Instagram live.
Phil from security was not super friendly. Treated me like I was someone who didn’t belong there. My only recommendation to the theater, hire a better security team. Other than that, it was an amazing experience.
Sincerely,
Dennis Schleicher

Perfect setting to see Broadway shows, ballet or classic movies. Proscenium stage framed by golden curtains, classic post Victorian architectures that make you feel as if are in Russia. I am truly in love with this place.

The theater itself is wonderful. Beautiful theater, clean, and decent prices depending on the show.. Will definitely keep checking the schedule for shows that I like.

Marc Martel - The Ultimate Queen Celebration 🤩
Was amazing.
The sound, environment, everything was on point.
The only thing that I can complain is about the seats, narrow and small for people from 6'0 and above.
Other than that, the theater is beautiful.
Scott Morse
It's in the name; performing arts. And that's exactly what we experienced. The production was My Fair Lady. Cast, orchestra, stage/props, sound, lighting...I can't imagine this being done any better anywhere. And the acoustics at PPAC are amazing. Our seats were in the balcony but I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. We found EZ in-out parking nearby ($20) so the whole evening was really stress-free. Security is tight so I would bring very little with you. The picture is before curtain as we enjoyed the overture.

Beautiful theater with a great lineup of shows. Friendly staff, good seats & sightlines. Excellent place to see a show or concert.
Christopher Valarezo
We loved seeing mean girls the musical. We sat at the lower deck towards the back, and the view was excellent. Bathroom is very clean.
Kim M.H.
Gem venue! Nice staff and gorgeous spot. Easy, close parking and walking distance to great local food. We go every chance we get!

1. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL theater. Enjoyed the Bob Dylan concert on November 26, 2021 so very much. The sound was incredible, ornate ceilings a d chandeliers beautiful, carved wood and all surroundings just so classic and a real treat to look at. I will absolutely find more shows to attend here. A wonderful night in Providence.
2. Took mom, a former off Broadway actress, to see The Prom on March 9, 2022. She absolutely loved it, kept looking around and smiling, calling it "like old New York." Loved that it had an elevator. And wine!! The acoustics are phenomenal. You could hear every word of this super funny, upbeat, colorful, brilliantly danced show. A great night out. I love this place!
glenesis
This place is GORGEOUS. Staff are nice and good-humored. I'll come again.
Sanchez
The show are great the seats not so much! My husband wants to attend more shows but the seats are small, tight and not comfortable for someone who is taller than 5’11”. I need to check out Vets auditorium. Might be time to update the seating PPAC, with all the fundraising and philanthropy I would’ve thought there would’ve been improvements made a long time ago.
Sophia Brydbord
Beautiful theater in the heart of Providence. Full line up of top rated shows and performance. No bad seats
Michael Sorensen
Saw a great show Nick Mason drummer from Pink Floyd performing early Pink Floyd songs.
Eric Zago
Loved the comfortable chairs. Excellent leg room, even for someone 6'3". Staff were casual and approachable, yet kept things well organized and moving well.
k p0llux
gorgeous venue for concerts, musicals, and all manner of performance activities. outside food and drink aren't allowed, so consider checking out the café next door for a quick bite before a show.
Thomas Zins
Absolutely stunning and not a bad seat in the house. Ushers are courteous and helpful. Seats have plenty of leg room.
Dee Driscoll
Fabulous and one of the most beautiful of Performing Arts Center…
Kenneth Hoffa
A great place for the whole family!! Beautiful architecture and paintings. Absolutely gorgeous. My family and I went here for "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" the musical. An absolutely amazing show highly recommend this place.
Janelle DeNormandie
This beautiful preservation of history is a great venue employing very friendly staff, and hosting wonderful events near Brown University. Walking down the street you are welcomed & drawn in by the marque sign; upon entering your breath will be taken away by the highly decorated vaulted ceilings with golden laid plaster, paintings, crown molding, huge mirrors, crystal chandeliers, spiral staircases, and marble bathrooms with adjacent spacious sitting rooms. The theater itself has good sound and ample bathrooms easily accessible from each floor. A new center chandelier reminds one that this piece of history was almost lost to us all, but with the hard work and determination of the community people can still travel from afar to enjoy it's spender and the performance it is showcasing. My only complaint is typical of a venue this age, that the leg space is never enough for tall people like me; a small price to pay, but miniscule in the grand scheme of things. If you find yourself in Providence I highly recommend doing yourself a favor and seeing a show at this beautiful theater!
Seth Foznot
Love it. I'm a big guy and the seats weren't uncomfortable. I will definitely visit again.
Karin Fuog
Saw Hamilton on a Sunday afternoon. Incredible show and gorgeous venue. Good sound, lighting, and air conditioning. Would love to return!
Christiana D'Arceuil
We had the opportunity to visit this Amazing theater to see Pretty Woman the Musical and it was a mixture of Magical and Amazing. The play was Excellent! The theater, Wow. The staff and ushers are Excellent in their customer service.
Christine Kirk
Always a wonderful experience. The theater is so beautiful. Every seat provides a good view of the stage. Saw My Fair Lady a few weeks ago, one of the best shows of the season. Please look at becoming a season ticket holder. We did 8 years ago and so glad we did.
Nelli “LesgoTRAVEL” Vegan-ish
Tonight, I watched "Pretty Women" and it was wonderful 👏 ❤ 💕 Also, it was a piece of mind to know everyone was vaccinated. I enjoy coming here alot. The theater is so beautiful. …
Patrick Varrecchia
Absolutely beautiful theatre!! Not a bad seat to be had. Ushers and attendants we're all super helpful and polite. Parking is really easy, many garages within a short walking distance. Highly recommend.
Justine Zilliken
Simply stunning venue equaled only by the talent on stage! The space is jaw dropping in its beauty, and the acoustics make every seat in the house a great one. An absolutely must-do…..last night was our first experience at PPAC, and it truly will not be our last. We purchased our season tickets this morning!
David Pirri
Phenomenal place to see a show. Beautiful decor, helpful staff, great sound and sight lines
Sayed Mousawi
Nice little theatre . Clean and organized, the staff are very friendly and happy. All in all a good experience. Would come back again .
Jonathan Ferguson
Great atmosphere, not a bad seating the theater. Will be going back
J Lucas
Beautiful old, ornate theater. Has top notch shows, many by National Touring companies. We saw "Come From Away" there on Thursday evening. The absolute BEST show I've ever seen, I highly recommend it and hope Providence Performing Arts Center has it back again real soon!
Johnny Paulhus
PPAC is a gem of a venue. It is beautiful, clean, convenient, and well run. I've never had a bad time there, and I'm so glad it's part of Rhode Island
M King
Gorgeous theatre. Wonderful experience. The play was a great story, the actors amazing w each playing multiple roles. Minimal set that was really effective in evoking the sense of a place but kept the focus on the story.
Jason Cote
A beautiful venue for a great concert. The orchestral music melded seamlessly with the movie! Looking forward to the next show.
Ruthie Tavares
PPAC is a beautiful venue.
My partner Mel and I went to see Wheel Of Fortune Live. It was such a spectacular venue to host such an event. I've been to plays, concerts, and family events held at PPAC. I've never left disappointed.
We were asked if we'd like our seats upgraded? Of course we said yes! Lol
We went from orchestra T to orchestra J.
The staff there are always friendly and accommodating. Thank you PPAC staff.
Dawn Deshaies
What a truly amazing show!! Beautiful place so clean and elegant and everyone was so accommodating and professional with warm smiles !
Michael Downs
Recently went to ppac to see Les Miserables. What a beautiful venue in a beautiful city. A breeze to get in and out of. The Acoustics are spectacular and the architecture is jaw dropping. Not to mention the musical itself Les Miserables was phenomenal.
April
I could have done without the extremely overpriced alcohol list but the ushers were very nice.
Skip Boyden
Great decor pure history, enjoyed the show as well I would attend another event or show again there
Gerry Gan
Wonderful venue and great resource for the arts. Many great great productions. Love it when they're the opening stop of national tours! We're season ticket holders for the Broadway series for the past 2 seasons (3 years in pandemic times). So happy to have them back!
Robert Stock
Just saw Les Miserable at ppac! Absolutely loved it! The sets the music and the singing absolutely superb! Bravo
Mike W
Beautiful theatre. I’d definitely come back
Mindy Gauthier
Absolutely love having season tickets to PPAC! Just saw Les Miserables 🥰 …
Michael Gardiner
PPAC is a beautiful venue.. incomparable restoration of a Lowes Theater. The seating is comfortable. There are many good seats. Try not to be under the balcony. The drinks are pricey, but a large will take you through to intermission. You might not need a second .. the restrooms are good. Get moving to it while others gather their thought 😂. You can talk when you get back. 😁. It’s one of the nicest venues you will ever see the show. As ever Providence makes Bostonians wonder why they even live there.
Matt C
Dylan was back in town once again And he was in top form & sounding mighty fine .Bob happily introduced the band and chatted with the crowd. Very nice to see. Dylan's the man.
Shaun Hunter
Amazing venue. Absolutely lucky to have in my backyard. Wow. So lucky. Aladdin was absolutely amazing. Loved everything about it. The costumes, sets and actors and actresses were the utmost professionals. You can tell the practice their craft a lot and truly love what they do. This is a state of the art venue that we are all blessed to have in our state. Enjoy it often. Thanks PPAC. See you soon..
John Ferguson
I sent my parents to Hamilton last night. They ended up getting seats 11rows back from the stage due to a mixup (something we could never afford!) The staff the actors and production were all top f'ing notch!
jessica medina
Love this beautiful theater! My granddaughters first show and she had the best time!!
David Bradley
I love this place the staff in all aspects are the best the place is beautiful and historical I frequently see shows here and always a great time prices in side are good seats could be wider but all is great. Just attended Steve Marten and Marten Short one of the best shows ever love them guys
Lauren Tellier
PPAC is a great place to see a show. The inside is absolutely beautiful, so cool to see an old theater in such great shape and well preserved.
Mary Anne Brough
The facility was stunningly beautiful. The act we saw was TERRIBLE! The Elton John tribite was like a Jr high school talent show. The poorest performace I've seen since my son's fifth grade band concert.
Judith Gugel
My Fair Lady was amazing. They did Oklahoma a few weeks before and that was horrible. So glad this one was fabulous. The theater is beautiful and the staff is wonderful ❤️ !
Tara Lieberman (Lune)
Good theatre and great place to go to see plays and musicals.
brenda dipietro
Went to see Aladdin and was very impressed. From the costumes to the choreography it was a whole new world. I was most interested to see how the genie would be and how they would handle the magic carpet and the cave of wonders. I was not disappointed! Their was no monkey, he became three friends of Aladdin but it didn't hurt the production at all. They along with the genie interjected humor.
Tinatin Surguladze
Beautiful theatre where you can see Broadway shows on tour or concerts.
Boomer1124
Great performance by the cast of Hamilton. The seats in the theater is a little tight but we survived.
Michael Pants
We saw RENT and the theater was lovely! You are shoulder to shoulder but the seats are very comfortable. The production was excellent. We sat row W and it was close enough, though I wouldn't want to sit too much further back.
The covid protocols seem kind of just for show. Everyone is crammed together like a can of sardines, but you should know this risk before going.
Mike S.
Nice small venue. Saw Ringo Starr last week. Would go to this venue again.
debbie mickelson
Great venue not extremely small put still an intimate setting. Great acoustics!
steve chasen
Love the theater’s beautiful architecture, the updated president club was very nice.
janglo55
Saw Cats on the opening night of their tour. Excellent!! Sets and lighting added to the exceptional singing and dancing performances. Beautiful costumes. A night full of beauty and song
Rick Sousa
Old but nice, seats small for a big person.
Angela V.
What a wonderful feeling should be back in a live theater after many many years I was enthralled. There is absolutely nothing that can compare to being and I Ciara West live challenge thank you for the opportunity. I am almost 94 I can't see that well or here but it was a joy and it brought back memories Thursdays when I could enjoy seeing and hearing better. I hope the show goes on forever.
Robert Hardy
This place is beautiful! My wife and I had such a great time here. Everyone that works here from the ushers to the bartenders are very pleasant. It’s probably not their main gig but all seem happy to be there.
Margaret Heroux
Beautiful atmosphere for any entertainment event. We saw "Mean Girls" and it was spectacular.
Rein Pace
Still just as amazing and beautiful as I remember, thank you to every single person who puts in the effort to keep that place so magnificent <3
Ada F.
Beautiful space, nice bathrooms, very helpful staff.
Kathleen Rowsam
Seats were a little small, but the theater was beautiful
SE Stack
Beautiful theater. Seats are narrow and sound isn't exquisite but overall experience is good.
Judith Hanley
I was treated to My Fair Lady at PPAC. The show was the best I have ever seen! The theater is wonderful on its own and the folks employed/volunteering are fantastic. BRAVO!!
Hēłłø
This place is so amazing. I went to see Hamilton, hoping that it would be good since its not the same actors. But it totally blew me away! The actors were on point! And the sound/speakers were amazing. Everything looked and sounded like the original. And the inside and outside of this place is very beautiful. Definitely 5 stars.
Sina Bagheri
The most beautiful venue I've ever been to in my whole life.
Lori Gosselin Marcoux
It is so beautifully historic and just the atmosphere is amazing. The plays I've experienced is the Nutcracker ballet many times, Cats, and recently Pretty Woman the musical. So magical, if you haven't experienced the wonder of this historical theater, to see a performance you won't be disappointed.
Colleen Kublin
Great place to see a show. Just saw RENT and it was amazing. All seats are good.
Deanna Correia
Great experience! Been before, but this weekend matinee made the opportunity for excellent easy parking, and lots of great choices for lunch/brunch that weren't too crowded, which obviously helps in the city. PPAC has a beautiful facility and great customer service as well.
Paolo Beccalli
Very nice theater. The decor gives it a magical feel.
Owen Bligh
A stunning facility that always has the best customer service and most friendly employees. They bring in a great schedule of shows including very high quality Broadway touring productions. A huge asset to downtown Providence.
midge gordon
love this theater. majority of shows a-1 .the interior is splendid however, try though they have, the acoustics beyond orchestra row mm are problematic ( don’t know about meZZ / balcony)
Corrie Mikayla
A great place to see Broadway productions. Every seat is a good seat. The theater is full of history and beauty. Love coming here.
d bienvenue
My favorite place to see a show. Sight lines are good so is the sound
Gary R. Brissette
The PPA is a great place to see a show without the hassle of going into Boston. I usually find better seats and lower prices per seat than I do in Boston for the same show and cast. The venue itself is beautifully restored.
Elyssa Smith
Lovely theater. Prices at box office were far cheaper than online sales but cash only. They did require vaccination cards or a negative test that was not told to us upon purchase of the tickets however they did have a rapid covid test booth.
Tori “BladedUMD18” Winters
Went to see the Nutcracker, used to go every year! Great time, Great Performers, Great Place! Dint buy anything while there though super expensive.
Bob Holden
Nice light and sound systems. Not a bad seat in the house. Staff was professional and courteous. I do think that they over do the "no recordig policy. The band usually doesn't mind the short video clips recorded off a phone or a few pictures of the band. I don't think they need to scold every person they see that snapped a quick picture. But it was amusing to watch.
Jim Migliorini
A beautiful performing arts center in the
hub of downtown Providence.
Filip Galiza
Get ready to step inside of an architectural marvel of a building. The center is beatiful with loads of incredible stone, glass, and metal detail. The hall itself has great acoustics and is very well designed for performances. It's worth booking any play here just to experience what this historical building is all about!
Ed Young
Beautiful theater. I sat in the front row for Hamilton. Great show, great seats.
Kevin Wunschel
Seating is tight but comfortable for large people. The parking garage gouges. $25 during a show $10 is the normal price
Karen Lister
They are always helpful because I have a walker. And the show Tina was incredible!
Adrianne Denenberg
What an incredible venue! Great Josh Groban perform tonight - amazing!
Dawn Webster
Went to see Hamilton on my birthday and was given an upgrade of tickets in the 8th row. Best night ever! I can't wait to go there again without having to go through metal detectors, wait in line outside, have to wear masks inside. When will we get back to normal?
Michael Saccone
Performances are always spot on, the venue is beautiful and the staff is top notch. The only con is no pre-order of beverages - so it takes longer to get a drink at intermission than intermission lasts.
JAY HACKETT
It's just the best venue locally....plays, music, etc.
Dan B
Great pub food. The steak frites were fantastic in particular
Elif Asar
Venue was good but I can't say the same thing for the Piano Guys "concert".
Joseph DiPietro
Beautiful arena. Seats are a tad small but to be expected with an older arena like this.
Sennen Conte
Loved the freshness of their salads & the chicken Picatta was killer with roasted vegetables!
Brian Ahrens
Always love the PPAC. Great place to see a show.
deborah leong
Went to see Hamilton. Outrageously outstanding performance and there were subtitute actors in this performance. I can just imagine the regular cast and even the original cast with Lin Manuel Miranda! Definitely a bucket list item!
Holly Ewart-O'Neall
Beautiful theater. Mid sized with decent seating. Parking near by and good amenities for folks who are subscription holders.
Nicholas Romano
This is a simply beautiful theatre! It's truly a great venue to see a live performance. The decor is wonderfully maintained including the paintings and carvings that adorn the walls of the theatre proper. When we went showing a Covid card OR a negative test was required, but the screening was fast and done outdoors before entering the building. Only carry in what you need, as their security screening is very thorough. I had to return to the car to drop off my small Keychain Swiss Army knife which I'd forgotten was on my keyring. There is plenty of parking close by, but be prepared to pay at least $20 for it depending on proximity. There are also ample spots to grab a bite to eat either before or after all within easy walking distance.
Essential Superheroes
First class entertainment. Broadway level experiences in our own backyard.
Maryann Medeiros
Majestic building. Saw the Phantom of the Opera. Never disappointed when there. Went to see Les Miserables last night. Absolutely beautiful. First time I ever saw this musical.
Joanne Silverman
Have been going for a number of years. A wonderful venue!!
Roger Celletti
Always a good time at the ppac.
Julie Mattson
The peoples in the program where I work had an inside tour of PPAC. We learned quite a bit about what goes in to a production and learned the history of the building. It was fun to see the view from the stage.
Colleen Conlon
A great venue..very beautiful. We enjoyed tonights presentation of "Esxape to Margeritaville"...
Erika Ahern
Saw Les Mis 2022. Amazing venue!
Steve D
We saw Hamilton here on 10Dec21 and after cursing driving through the streets of Providence, we found a place to park and walked to the playhouse. Downtown Providence itself seems very "hipster" ish, which isn't necessarily my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal to the younger crowd.
The Playhouse itself was gorgeous and I was surprised at how fast the staff was able to verify COVID cards and ID, scan tickets, and allow people inside. While it was crowded, we found our seats quickly. The bathrooms were large and I've had experience at the theatres in Boston waiting in long lines, however I was in and out quickly.
My only real complaint was the lack of leg space. I have bad knees so halfway through the second act they were starting to ache from the lack of space.
Yen
Seen lots of fantastic Broadway musicals here. ALWAYS a pleasure!
Stephanie Frois
It was absolutely awesome to be back here. The staff is always amazing and super helpful. Pretty woman was absolutely phenomenal. My husband even stayed awake for the whole show lol. Can't wait to be back for more shows.
Dion Oliveira
My husband and I went to see "ain't too proud". It was a phenomenal show. I love this venue, every time I am here I love it.
susanne day
Every time we come here its always a great experience. The staff quickly and safely got us in and seated. During intermission the ladies room lines moved soooo fast!
Susan Souza
Love this place. Easy to find- plenty of parking in area. Not a bad seat in the house.
Linda Renaud
Went to see Hamilton. Sellout crowd. So many people in a fairly small place. Well handled by the courteous and calm staff. It's a wonderful place to see a play. I've been several times.
Giblin Dorothy
My husband and I took our grandsons to see Blippi. The show was great and the staff at PPAC was awesome. The seats were great too.
Tim Wagner
Seating was much more spacious than most other venues like the Wilbur. Ill definitely be coming back to see shows here
savanah raymond
Everything about this place was beautiful! I saw Lindsey Stirling and it was such a magical experience! 10/10 would go here again :)
Paul Smith
Great place. Awesome building, service and perfomance. Lots of space.
Ann Archambault
Show was crowed. Could use rails on stairs getting to the 2nd balcony
Richard Harl
This year we decided to purchase season tickets to the Broadway series. We have been going to PPAC for many years and always enjoy our time there. This year we attended the first show of the season Pretty Woman. The show itself was great. The experience from PPAC and its employees not so much. First we walked by a couple of ushers who just looked past is. Then an usher just pointed to the other side. Once we found our seats things didn't get much better. There was an altercation with 2 patrons just in front of us where the usher stood w flashlight shining in my face as the show was starting. Then screaming by a patron Then the usher got loud this while show going on. Also a half hour into the show people were still being allowed to walk in to the show. There were rude clients there but staff was not prepared to handle either. They are either new and not well trained or so out of practice. Either way it took away from our experience.
Scott Furtado (Scott)
Wonderfully restored, beautiful old theatre. My only real criticism is that the seats on the main floor are not staggered, resulting in poor sightlines.
Jason Ekholm
Great place but terrible staff as ushers and rude.
Arthur Mooradian
Magnificently restored Theater great seats very comfortable knowledgeable staff very accommodating and pleasant when in downtown Providence it's a must see
Robin Sills
Sound is great! Have loved every show we've seen here.
Bob Pritchard
The facility is a historical gem. In very good shape. We've seen many great performances here and my favorites so far are Motown and Book of Mormon. The surrounding area is also great for dining and drinks. A more affordable night compared to Boston but all the charm.
Pat Yancey
Venue is just beautiful. The play Oklahoma, not so much. I get that it could be interesting to explore the dark themes of this storyline - but why?
Donna Jennings
Incredible venue, amazing performance!
Miguel Bennasar
Great venue for big Broadway musicals!
Kevin Holbrook
Gorgeous venue! Very high ceilings, and very well appointed. A little bit lacking in restroom facilities, but still a classy venue with great acoustics.
Rich
Shen yun was amazing. This place was perfect for it. Such a beautiful place. Wear your mask though. We don't go many places so I'm sure we definitely caught covid. And it was horrible.
David Moore
Lovely theater! Lots of space and well maintained. I definitely enjoyed my visit.
Valerie Bento
Tina Turner musical was lit!! Pure music for the soul🎶 …
Townie Mike
Went here to see Hamilton and it was amazing. The performers were spot on and the show was amazing. The venue was really neat with retro vibes all around.
Tyler Glavocich
Great theater, great show, but there were a few people near us with some very poor theatre etiquette and there was no usher around to tell them to get off their phones or at least turn the brightness down.
Dennis Freeman
Regulars here for shows and performances. Always a great time.
silverlake girl
PPAC is absolutely stunning. I've been to 60 countries all over the world. It is most certainly, world class.
The employees are very professional and friendly.
Rebecca Tanguay
Ok... I get its a pandemic, but we've had almost 2 yrs to figure stuff out. PPAC is always beautiful. Unfortunately, management needs to take a production line class. Have separate well divided lines .. especially for people who DO NOT bring in phones.
My partner and I seemed to be the ONLY ones who read the guidelines, and left the phones in the car... sooo, no pictures, no visual memories...
But, we had to wait, and was late into the opening acting because everyone else had to put phones in pouches...
Also, bars had long lines in the beginning, then half way through I take a BRB and all the bars were closed??!!
Glad to be back in the theatre. I hope this all gets figured out before Big shows to comes!
Welcome back theatre-goers ♡♡
Jennifer Grady
The place was beautiful and very well maintained! We were there for a dance competition, and our only complaint is the dressing room areas are very small, but that happens. They were very accommodating and we had a great experience overall. I'd love to return just to see a show.
Megan Woodworth
Great staff. The seats up high are cramped. Old and historic theater. Great acoustics for any shows or concerts. Have been here many many times! There is a lot of parking in the area. I would recommend using spot hero to look for the cheapest spaces. Easy in and easy out of the city for a show too
Mark Mahoney
Excellent venue. Les Miserable was first rate
Tom Dupree
I should be able to pay for refreshments with hard cash. It's totally disgusting they want you to expose your credit card. Money should be good anywhere.
Brian Cedric Jones
Absolutely beautiful theater with fantastic programming.
T Lockwood
Went here to see Hamilton with my family. Right downtown and easy to find. Little hard to navigate indoors but staff will help you out. Snacks are good but expensive. Views of the stage are great even from the back balcony seating. Whole space is gorgeous and feels like a palace. Even the bathrooms are really nice and there are ample stalls so lines don't become an issue.
Trai two pro nounwnce thess
Beautiful place, and I saw one of the best shows here!
John
Such a great venue to take in a show. It is so beautiful inside. I have seen several shows here and always so enjoyable. They also get big Broadway shows here which is awesome for a small city like Providence. I only have small criticisms, ticket prices can be high and lines for the mens room at intermissions can be ridiculous. But all around love this spot
A Taylor
Had an amazing experience at PPAC for Beautiful. Staff very helpful and courteous. Gorgeous and quaint theatre. The set, costumes and music were unbelievable! We had seats in balcony section and they were great! So easy to get to, parking a breeze and many restaurants within walking distance. Such a fantastic night!
Ted Allen III
My parents have had the season passes for a while now but every show has been great and the service is wonderful.
Aarøn
Have seen Hamilton, Alladdin and Les Miserables with family there over the past few years and it's been dope each time! Will need vaccine card or negative covid test to get in these days (not bad thing, just still kinda rare for venues around here to check for that stuff compared to say NYC at time of writing this)
BJ Charette
Beautiful theater with great shows.
caliguy 231
Beautiful theater with amazing staff ! Super friendly and helpful with finding our way around . Super clean too .
Kevin Brown
Very nicely theater classic vibes but seat are very small. Just something to keep in mind . But overall nice classic theater
Judi McCabe
Manheim Steamroller was fantastic. I had been wanting to see them for years. Grateful to have seem the performance at PPAC.
Celease Brown
Play Tina Turner. Was very very Good. Glad I went.
Lynn Carnes
Breathtakingly beautiful venue. Seating is tight but not the worst I've seen. Parking was easy and plentiful. I took away 1 star because their drink prices are criminal. There is no place on Earth where a 12oz Captain and Coke should be $20.
Michael Moonan
This is an awesome place to see a show. They always have notch Broadway performances.
Alex D
Nice venue, but like most old theaters, seating is tight. Maybe I am spoiled with the new movie theaters, but I hate being sandwiched between people, fighting for arm rest space, etc. If you end up next to someone overweight, forget it... your not going to enjoy the show. If there's a good show there and you want to go see it I recommend it but be prepared to deal with this seating situation.
Olivia Nugent
Nice venue, good views and sound even from the 2nd balcony and helpful and friendly ushers making an all around pleasant show experience. UNLESS YOU ARE TALL! If you are 5'8 or up you will find the seats way too small and be squished. At 5'10 I couldn't sit normally and was in physical pain throughout the show. If you are tall try your best to get a seat in the front of the section so you are not squished!! Otherwise a great theater!
Lorynn Silva
Beautiful theater, easy to get to, with lots of parking options, cheapest right behind the theater, lot on the left. Great acoustics, adult sized seats since it's an older theater. It's all redone, gorgeous ceilings, don't forget to look up
James Knox
Very clean and well kept. Beautiful old building with easy access to parking. Not a huge auditorium, so leaving is simple with very little traffic. Seating was comfortable with decent views of the stage from the middle.
Michael Renfree
Always enjoy a night out at the theater. The combo of good performances and character of PPACmakes for a great experience
Ellen Ames
I want to be fair. It was my second time there. There appears to run many great shows from what I see. The staff is great. I had to take my daughter to the bathroom not during intermission while the show was going. I didn’t realize the quick the bathroom trip meant we couldn’t return and we ended up not being able to return to the show. If you need that type of a policy. Don’t presume your audience has been there and should know this. There should be announcements.
Ethan Paul
Fantastic venue. Have been here to see RENT, The Lion King, and West Side Story and all three were great experiences. The venue has done an amazing job of renovating and maintaining the classic theatre feel while incorporating modern technology and accommodations.
Food/drink is overpriced as you'd expect, but the staff is very friendly. Best theatre in RI in my opinion.
Shawn Goldstein
Great theater experience with a variety of performances coming through. Attendants are pleasant and helpful. Facilities and theatre appear well maintained. Comfy seating, although definitely tight with elbow room. Overall it's a great place for family or a date night.
Dennise Kowalczyk
An ornate and stunning interior. Security is as tough as the airport! Polite staff.
Kristen Day
Favorite place to see a show. Parking is easy, drop off is easy if needed. Views are great from any area. Ushers and staff are great
steven sullivan
Great historic theatre to see a show.
Foo Bar
Very cool theatre. Ornately decorated and the sound was good. Was there for ray lamontagne show.
Cliff Stuart
The performances are always top notch, but the art and architecture are among the best anywhere! Seriously, the decor is worth the price of admission. Go enjoy a show and arrive early and/ or stay late to enjoy the gilded age interior up close.
Laura Marcq
Beautiful theater, good comfortable seats, great parking $20.00 right across the seat, easy in and out.Yes you can buy water, wine, beer and cookie, pretzels.Remember you can't bring anything in.Restrooms were huge, and very clean.I love this place you will too, great shows!
Brianna Tozier
This theater is amazing! And ladies, I know it sounds silly, but seriously, they are SO efficient with the bathroom situation. There are probably 50 stalls so you're not waiting too long, past the end of intermission, just to pee. Also, the ushers and all workers are wonderful! Always smiling!
J.D. Mendes
This place is amazing! The building inside is stunning. The selection of shows is excellent. The place is clean. We felt safe from covid.
Robert From RI
What a fantastic venue to see a show!
Kerri Lynn D
Every show I've ever seen here has been a fabulous experience. PPAC is simply the best!
Bryan Diggle
Incredible building. Mints in the bathroom, which retains its original design and architecture.
No cash allowed, only downfall.
Brian Bernard
Lindsey Stirling 12/13/18
Clean venue, helpful and friendly staff
Alex Bolves
Beautiful auditorium and lobby with snacks and drinks sold at multiple spots to help keep the lines short and moving quickly. Seats arranged well so can generally count on being able to see the stage. Second dress seats are WAY up there, I'd recommend bringing some opera glasses if you have seats there
Gabumon Girl
Wonderful theater. It was built in th 1920's and hosts amazing performances. Staff is very helpful and you can buy refreshments including alcoholic drinks. No outside food is allowed. There is a parking structure right across the street.
Dryden Hopkins
Right of the bat I have to say this should have been a 5 start review. The only reason I give 3 stars is the lack of public parking and the $20 lot fee. On top of that they lock the parking lot 30 minutes after the show. This makes it so you can't go get dinner after the show without finding another parking spot in Providence. This puts a big damper on date night. However the building is beautiful and the shows are always great.
Peggy Szeliga
Gorgeous venue. Wonderful show selection. A delight almost every time.
Jessica P
Beautiful space- very luxurious and gorgeous theater. There's parking and restaurants within walking distance so its very accessible. If you get food or drink, be prepared for astronomical prices such as $8 for a bottle of water. Not worth it. Also, there's so air conditioning so it gets very hot inside. Be sure to dress in.layers. also the seats sare small and uncomfortable for a 2 plus hour show. Overall it's a nice place but be prepared for expensive food and drink, a hot theater and uncomfortable seats.
Lynn Levasseur
Easy to get to and plenty of parking lots near by, not a bad seat in the house!
Cherie Binns
We just came from a performance of the musical Aladdin. Expertly and exquisitely staged. The whole new world magic carpet Ride was as amazing as a stage setting can get. The seating is tight and the isles relatively narrow but this is to be expected with an old historic theater. Come to downtown Providence and bask in the history.
Matt McCullough
A nice performance venue for a dance competition. The food was surprisingly useful and not that expensive. There is no food allowed from outside. But no public WiFi is an absolute killer for a dance competition. I'm sure that is fine for a play or concert, but a dance competition is 3 minutes of watching, 3 hours of waiting around.
GeorgeAnne Keith
Atmosphere was lovely. People were friendly and courteous. Show was amazing!
Suzanne North
Beautiful venue, good visibility from all seats. Comfy seats. Seats aren't that big and don't have that much leg room but those aren't issues for me. I wouldve given 5 stars if it wasn't so expensive. Parking is also either hard to find on the street or $20 for the near by lots.
Vellentie fam Vellentie
This is one of my favorite places to see a performance. It's clean and set up well and ushers are really nice. Stage is large enough for many shows. Definitely worth the trip.
Cadi U
It was so fantastic!! I loved the show, the energy, the staff!! We saw Fiddler on the Roof, and I was blown away. PPAC housed us perfectly. I would go there any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
Richard Portno
He's very special, comfortable place to watch any performance.
Abby Holmes
Beautiful venue, tons of parking all around the area. We felt very safe going back with the mask requirement and proof of negative test or vaccine.
Brian Tavares
Great venue. Watched The Lion King here. The ambiance and decor is amazing. My only complaint is that the seats are on the tighter side, close together and with little leg room. Tough for a taller guy like me.
Melinda Leigh
Great venue. Big city feel but in smaller Providence. There's a garage but there's tons of street parking that you can hunt for especially on a weekday night. Bar prices were a little high, but it's not like you can sneak in your own.
Mynor Alvarez
First time there, I loved it.. definitely looking foward to come back to see another amazing performance
Brian Bigda
Old but classic theatre. Seats are cramped, which seems to the case in any historic venue. Were people really that much smaller in the past? Overall decor is retro cool but a little rundown in spots. Great location for hang out in Prov either before or after show.
Carlos Zambrano
Nice venue, I'm glad that they restored it.
Sarah Fortino
What a beautiful theater. We came to see Hamilton and it was wonderful. Everyone we encountered was so kind and helpful. My only reason for giving 4stars is because this is the first theater I have encountered that didn't have boosters for kiddos.
Marie
1st time back to PPAC in years it was well organized in screening all that entered had to show proof of Covid vaccine..We were shown to our seats right away but then we got there 30 minutes early before Joe Bonamassa's 2 and a 1/2 hour concert, which was amazing..My only complaint is the seats are too small and I am a thin person..
Kathy Casey
One if the best kept secrets of Rhode Island!!!!Comparable to the Hanover Theatre in Worcester. The architecture is out of this world!!! Everything is done in gold!! Could be real gold but probably gold leaf!!! Never mind the great concerts, plays, or musicals!!!! I
went and saw the great band "Chicago". They played for two hours and gave an awesome concert!!! Three of the original band members still playing. Anyway, it is worth it just to see this beautiful theatre. Just like Hanover, it will blow your mind away with it's magnificent architecture if you appreciate beauty.
Kathryn McNulty
The Providence Performing Arts Center interior is a thing of beauty. Some seats are better than others certainly, but you really can see from any seat in the house. It always feels like a special occasion to catch a show there.
Tyler
I can't say enough for how accommodating these folks were with my disability. I recommend this place for anyone who is disabled. Unbelievably friendly. Definitely will come back, perfect date night place that's affordable with much wow factor for the lady. It was a great show and just a great GREAT time we had. Again words can't express how great the staff was and the show was. You don't see this very often anymore but outstanding facility here.
Sheri Costa
Went recently to see Anastasia. It was wonderful. I always enjoy going to ppac.
Cris Ashe
Loved the performance but the place is not designed for tall people, I will plan better next time and get an end seat.
Todd Stricklin
Outstanding performance of Les Miserables! PPAC as a venue is simply beautiful!
Erin Conway
Gorgeous and very clean venue. The staff was super nice. I definitely will be returning for future shows. A++++
Christopher S Black, DC
A gem, a great place to see a show
Sandra Topalian
Hamilton! What more is there to say? Seats were comfortable. Closed captioning was in front of us, adding to the experience. We could read any lines we missed in this fast - paced show. Stage was perfect for the performance. Even with a full house and millions of people wanting to purchase memorabilia, everything worked smoothly.
Derrick Knott
I love it. I took my wife to see Anastasia and The Lion King. It was great! They have affordable drinks that you can bring into the theatre I paid ten dollars for like a 16 oz of Jack and Coke. The only petpeave is if your not on time they make you wait until a scene ends before you can enter the theatre. So be there early.
wil1776
I go here a few times a year and have always had a enjoyable time,it always tends to be extremely crowded especially at Intermission and i have found that the upper level seats are more comfortable than the lower level so if you want some cushioning go for the upper balcony seats.
Mary Dalton
Saw the Tina Turner show it was fantastic
Vladimir D
Absolutely fantastic. I've come here for several musicals and I've always been treated wonderfully. The staff are always friendly and are quick to help with anything. The theater is gorgeous and is always clean.
Dale Babbitt
Beautiful facility. Good acoustics as long as the sound guy does his job correctly. I would recommend seeing a show at PPAC.
Lauren Niedel
Gorgeous classic theater. Outstanding sound quality and very comfortable seating. Hamilton was AMAZING.
Billie Schumann
Based upon the show we saw "Phantom of the Opera". Slow start but got increasing better as the acts moved forward. Ending was great - please stay for it. Quaint theater. Lots of parking nearby.
Jim Botelho
This is such a great place. It's a restored theater. It's so beautiful inside all gold leaf on the walls. All kinds of shows there from Broadway plays to rock concerts to comedy shows. Great gem in Providence.
Sencelia McKanobb
Wonderful my husband and I enjoyed ourselves. Freestyle Rush concert
ShihTzuMom
Love PPAC. Saw 5 Star ✨ **Pretty Woman** musical today. Fabulous musical!!
I saw **Oklahoma** which was awful! Save your money! I would give **zero stars for Oklahoma!**
Michael Mitchell
What a great theatre in the middle of Providence, RI. Super easy to get to, closer to many restaurants and bars. The interior of the PPAC is gorgeous, and the sound quality is second to none. They have all of the major Broadway shows here too.
Nicole Bergeron
PPAC is awesome!!! I love that they host the Broadway Series every year. It's so convenient to be able to see a Broadway play two cities away from where I live. I highly recommend this venue. It's SO worth the money!!
Marty
Not only was the theater beautiful as always. The administration and procedure of getting guests and patrons through the building and to their seats was flawless. While the seats are comfortable and very accommodating, makes for a very spectacular night.
Victoria Lane
It is a beautiful theaters that brings in wonderful productions. The only downside is that the seats are small and tightly together. I don't think a tall man would be comfortable or may not even fit there.
Debbie Dias-Faria
Beautiful theater. Not the best place for parking due to the city streets, but as long as you expect to pay up to $20 for parking, it's worth going. I saw Theresa Caputo Live and it was comfortable and clean.
Thomas Garrison
The chairs are a little small, so it can be a pain in the ass to attend a show in the winter time when everyone has their big coats and scarves and stuff, but the performances are always fantastic. The warm cookies at intermission are delicious, and the beer and wine selection is decent.
Will The Thrill
Bought tickets. Excellent customer service and helped with questions he wasn't expecting to get ha! Thank you!
Bree Sykes
This is a great place! I’ve been for a few shows and each time I’n impressed with how gorgeous the theatre is. Only complaint is that it gets pretty hot; they need to do a better job regulating the temperature when so nany guests are expected.
Joe K
PPAC used to be the name for high end theatre but after seeing the nutcracker this year, I no longer trust that I will get what I'm paying for.
1) The show began with people asking for donations after patrons have already paid ample fee for admission
2 The cast included a number of children or younger performers who were clearly not proficient enough to perform in a show of this caliber
3 Despite being in a theater which has an orchestra pit there was no live orchestra as there has been in past years
4 The direction of this show included comedic changes to parts of dances which took away from the feeling of attending a proper ballet.
Very disappointing.
Walter Atigian
This is a true gem as it is a fully restored early 1900's classic theater that has been turned into a performing arts center. If want to see marble pillars, crystal chandeliers and gold accents than this is the place you will want to see a play in. It makes going out for the evening an event.
steve a
This venue was really really nice. Good parking, good seating. The show we went to see was very enjoyable. The only thing I would really complain about is that alcohol drinks were very expensive. But overall it was a good experience
Patti Russo
Season ticket holder for 5 years, it's a great night out with friends. Shows are amazing!!
Stuff is friendly, clean. I love going to the theater.
Dean Heinold
We love attending shows at PPAC. The theater is beautiful, the shows are always well done and the people are always so friendly and helpful.
Serena Jule
Gorgeous historic theater in Providence. Doors open 2 hours before show and alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages served. PPAC parking lot $20 during events and right across street from theater doors. Fantastic open season show with Yanni live! Great shows lined up and tickets sell out quickly.
Crystal Hosking
I've been here twice, to see Wicked both times. It's a great venue. Absolutely beautiful ambiance. I have sat in the 2nd balcony both times and have had a great view at a pretty decent price. Sign up for the mailing list and get discount codes every once and awhile. Everyone working at PPAC, from the ticket takers to the ushers and food/drink vendors were super nice. During intermission, we found the lounge at the bottom of the stairs from the left balcony to be perfect. It's kind of tucked away from everyone, so it was a lot less crowded than the other vendors. There's a convenient garage across the street from PPAC or there are plenty of lots lining the same street. If you want to grab a bite to eat before or after the show, Blake's Tavern is less than a 5 minute walk from the theater and their kitchen is open late.
Neil DeCamp
Great theater. Lousy city. Providence has slipped greatly over the last decade. Just don't feel safe. Park close when visiting PPAC and leave right after. No strolling after to find a bite or drink. Carol Burnett show October 2019. Gotta love the Carol nostalgia.
Derek Goulet
Beautiful venue with seating that everyone can enjoy the view from
Margaret Campbell
HAMILTON! WOW!
What a beautiful theater!
Your staff was amazing.
An unforgettable experience, thank you.
Matthew Arruda
Beautiful inside. Have seen a few performances here. Specifically Waitress and the Harry Potter Movie Orchestra. The usually have a merch store related to the performance outside the theatre. Recommend sitting on the ground level as the balcony seating is so cramped.
Attila DeLisle
Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL building with fantastic staff, comfortable seats, and reasonable concession prices. My only recommendation is to go easy on the beverages, because the restroom line gets a little intense during intermission.
Cindy Gomes
The Temptations was a good shows, great singing & dancing. Like the originals.
J C
Im partial to shows in these older theaters. Not sure the history, but its a great place to see a show. The stage is ornately decorated in gold and has a balcony, red carpets. There is a smaller martini bar, which I was free to bring into the theater.
Kyle Stephens
LOVED this theater! Saw The Book Of Mormon here and had an absolute blast. Good location with lots to do around before and after the theatre. Beautiful interior.
Joel Soukup
Great old theater with nice updates; convenient parking across the street and around the corner (for $20); close to good restaurants. My only gripe is that the seats are outdated and small, at least if you're over 6 feet and 250 lbs like me.
Lisa Brazil
Had a great time with my Mom seeing CATS. Will be back in March with my husband to see Phantom.
Mary Lou Ryan
Wonderful! Saw Phantom of Opera on a Friday nite. Sat near front in orchestra and think ticket price was very fair for all that we got. The theatre, and the chandelier that went up and down, beautiful and thrilling!
Nathan Smith
Love this place. Full of history, and its like walking into a time machine and your jetted back to a bustling theatre where many dancers have graced that stage. I don't know it just feels like the roaring 20's ..Truly magical!! We went and saw "The Nutcracker", it being my daughter's (who's almost 10) first time seeing it....it was absolutely Fabulous!! Very beautiful dancing and just being there is so festive for the holiday season. It was such a blessing to be able to create that beautiful memory with her 😊 I will cherish them forever!! The only one thing i would say was i think u are missing some revenue in there for a little hot cocoa bar. I think it was odd to not have any other drinks beside alcohol, soda or coffee...i mean im not complaining, BUT i can imagine many many families enjoying a nice cup of hot cocoa while watching the nutcracker, maybe a few cookies, how cute to have hot cocoa and all the toppings to decorate maybe put a candy cane in it....how amazing would that be!!! So when that happens i will give it 5 stars!! Lol but im really serious. 😊😊😉😬get your hot cocoa lives all the way TOGETHER!!
Todd Bowes
Shows here are always a good time!
Charlene McDuff
This was a school field trip. They are extremely organized unloading and loading buses in a timely manner. Staff is organized and friendly directing you to your seats.
Plus the Jazz Ambassadors we're great! They made the jazz music relevant to the middle school students.
Michelle Mcdonald
I have been to many performances at PPAC, but this was the first time I was so close to the stage. I will spend the extra money for every future show. What an amazing experience to see Phantom Of The Opera from the fourth row center stage!
Crystal McDaniel
My first time at PPAC was an amazing experience! I attended the Manheim Steamrollers concert. The floor plan of the seating prohibited obstructions from other patrons or objects enabling a spectactular view of the show! The decor and architecture was ornate but not overdone. Very beautiful. The lighting was perfect. Employees were very accommodating and on point! Highly recommend this venue!!!
Christopher Brodeur
You will be blown away by the gold guilding throughout the theatre. We saw the Phantom of the Opera. I have seen it in the past but the stage for this newest production is technologically the best yet. The Chandelier is breathtaking. You have to sit in the Loge section and bring binoculars for the full effect of seeing the faces of the actors. It makes for a much better experience. Dont forget to bring them. I brought my 13 year old daughter who now wants to join the drama club in school it moved her to tears. Food and drinks are pricey so bring some xtra $ if you want liquor drinks. A must see experience for everyone. Call early for any show to get good seats. Parking is across the street get there at leaat 45 minutes early. $20 for that garage.
david chaves (Joanna)
Gorgeous building. Tickets are priced way too high. Its not Broadway in New York. The average family can't afford to take the kids to see even most of the kids shows. (Peter pan )
Kevin Donovan
Attractive interior design, good seating. Snacks and drinks are a little expensive but not bad. Don't need a new travel cup for each soda as we go several times a year and they will end up getting thrown away or recycled
Cathy Mazzola
Always a fun day! The seats are very tight though, but they are all good seats.
Scott Davidson
Great shows, great staff! Very helpful and cast of shows are amazingly talented. It's great to have a piece of Broadway so close to home!
Shelley Lucier
Stunning Theatre in Providence just go to the restroom BEFORE the show otherwise you'll wait over 10 minutes in line. Great opportunity to see stunning Broadway tours without the Boston or NYC prices!
Kathleen Andrade
My husband and I saw the Chicago concert and it was great!! The PPAC is a great place to see a show or concert. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Looking forward to attending future shows at the PPAC.
Bev Slattery
Show was awesome. The whole cast was so energetic. It was fast passed. Kids would love it and maybe make them think of picking up an instrument. Highly recommended.
Robert Howard
Harry Potter program with live orchestra was cool. It's an old theater that's in great shape. Seats are comfortable with good, not great, leg room. Parking garage across the street had traffic tied up going in for blocks. Like it was their first event. Didnt explain about where to pickup keys after. I'd go back to PPAC but would use different parking.
Matthew Cordeiro
Beautiful venue. Seats are cramped for tall and larger people. Third floor gets pretty hot. Parking sucks. Best bet is to park on street a few blocks away.
Denise Mozzer
Always llove going to see show at the Providence Arts Center. Beauiful building that transforms us back in time.
Chris Laforest
Not a fan of the mask rules. Beautiful venue though. Not sure all the metal detectors are necessary.
Karen Lopes
Cirque Dream was an energizing show! 💯 …
Michael Jerz
Miss Saigon ...Marvelous experience , top notch performance. Very professional and courteous staff ... Can't wait for our next visit !!!
Josh Lima
Lovely theater here in Providence. Definitelya great place to go watch a show, concert etc. Plus the surrounding area is really nice with great places to go eat and drink for a completely fun night of Dinner and theater.
jml 4
Great venue, easy to get to, lots of great eateries in the area for before, or after the show, treats. Bathrooms are large and clean, easy entrance, easy exit. Good parking options all around.
Jaz
PPAC is such a beautiful theatre. We joined our daughter's best friends last night to see ALADDIN. The show was spectacular and the consention stands moved promptly with everyone's order to get us back in time for the second half of the show.
Vicki Sciuk
Limited leg room in the balcony, like most older theaters. But the sight lines and acoustics were good, and the women's restroom up there was quite large for a theater.
Rosie Valentin
Went to see Shen Yun and it was absolutely fantastic. The place was stunning and the staff was friendly .
Will love to go again.
Keith Tavares
PPAC is our go to place for musicals and shows. Why travel to Boston or New York when we have this gem conveniently located in downtown Providence. We have seen many shows here and are never disappointed. We just went to see Hamilton and it was as good as.the hype.
Carissa Tavares de Almeida
THE NUTCRACKER.... A Holiday Family outing for us...the first time seeing a ballet. Our last trip was years ago (many) for Dora. The Explorer! The theater is beautifully appointed in its historic time, the sound was clear and the show was wonderful. Hoping to be back (sooner this time) :)
Doug H
Be careful when buying tickets online. My wife thought she was on the PPAC site and paid a large amount for what she thought was seats near the front. Come to find out when we got there that the seats were in the upper balcony. Whatever site she did end up on, made it look like it was the official PPAC site. Other than that, the place is lovely, though from the balcony people on stage look very small.
Michael Johnson
Saw Sesame street Dance here with my 2 and 3 year old. Fantastic show and the building was very clean. I often worry about restroom cleanliness for my kids but they were spotless!
Mark Larsen
Much better now that masks are no longer required. Great shows here every year.
Kevin Geremia
PPAC never disappoints and teamed with Festival Ballet's production of The Nutcracker made for another memorable Saturday during the holidays. If you've been to Providence Performing Arts Center then you're in for a treat. The theater is adorned in gold leafed ornate detailing that's fresh out of the Gilded Age.
Louise Cournoyer
Wonderful evening with beautiful voices❤
North East South West
Beautiful historic theater with aesthetic and some high quality, historical decor. What a wonderful place to see plays, bands, choirs, and Broadway shows. This place is gorgeous. Do yourself a favor and pay a visit.
Joanne Robertson
While I always love going to the PPAC for shows, I was especially disappointed with the Freestyle Rush show. The performers were great but the awkwardness of the MC of the show and the degree of them directing their own soundtrack was a bit amateur. I'm seriously surprised the balcony tickets were $85 (including handling).
Chris B
A beautiful historic theater hosting traveling theater troupes and other special events. More legroom than Broadway and relatively easy pedestrian entry/exit. Conveniently located in downtown Providence a block away from Westminster Street and its shops. Parking can be somewhat of a challenge and expensive.
GRAMMY2 BRAD
90 years old and still amazing. Not a bad seat, you don't sit directly behind someone, off to the side. Seats are close together and not comfortable for anyone obese.
Parking garage across the street, as well as lots down the road.
Kimberly Cote
Better than Boston. Great shows come here and you don't have to deal with traffic and parking issues of Boston. PPAC is better than any theater in Boston. Plus Providence has much better restaurants and can get you to the theater on time without an insane rush.
Frank Sakowski
Saw Les Mis great play
Gail La Corbiniere
It was wonderful to see the Phantom of the Opera again. PPAC is a great place! Plenty of clean bathroom for us ladies. The sits were comfortable as I am a full figured women.
Tara Cardinal
Beautiful, so much to look at
Jeff Roux
The location is small enough that even the "bad" seats aren't that bad. There are always tons of staff around to answer questions and direct you to your seat (if you are not sure where you are going). They have several concession stands where you can buy wine, soda, and candy. They also have cookies sometimes.
The seats can be a bit cramped. There is adequate leg room for sitting, but not enough when people need to get up and walk past.
There is a paid parking across the street, which is convenient, but costs $20, and the parking spots are sometimes very cramped.
John Knight
It's a nice venue, but the seats are narrow and so are the rows between seats. There is a small amount of leg room when sitting, but it becomes uncomfortable during a two hour show.
Vin Ortez
There is not a bad seat in the house. Sound is great, seen many great shows here. Hard to believe this venue is in its 90th season. Great place to see a show.
Robert Zorabedian
I was able to attend the Jeffrey Osborne Comedy Show on August 9th with a large group of people. The box office was closed so I sent an email and I received a call back within the hour. Over the next few days, I called 7 different times to keep adding seats and the staff were so helpful and patient with me. They were able to put us all together so we can sit as a group. Stephanie, thank you very much!
Cassie Lengel
Loved it. Super easy to get to. Gorgeous gild work. Nice stage. Warning - very very very small seats. I'm 5.6 and my knees were in pain.
Abbie Levesque
One of my favorite places. Incredibly gorgeous theater. All the workers are kind and helpful, the seats are comfortable, and the shows are usually very high quality.
sophia bailey
We come to the Providence Performing Arts Center as season ticket holders. We know the productions are great! PPAC has been around for a VERY long time. The architecture is beautiful. The sound quality is great. There are refreshments available. I, personally, love the chocolate chip cookies they sell. They are so good! I just wish the women's bathrooms (one downstairs and one upstairs) were bigger. Dressing in casual clothes us very common. There is a parking garage across the street or you can try to find street parking. You can purchasing season tickets or individual shows. There are also a series of shows for children. Check PPAC's website for details.
Barbara Reece
Love the convenience of parking and places to have dinner in this area, the theater's presentations are visually amazing, I've only been to 4 shows ,but enjoyed my visits throughly ,and will definitely continue to be a guest.
Lynne Beaudry
Great to be back!! Everyone did a efficient job of checking vaccination status, scanning tickets and directing us to our seats!
Steve Malloy
Beautiful theater, as my mom observed when we brought her here for a birthday gift to see Cabaret. Maybe it was the company; but she said she liked it more than when she saw it years ago in NYC, where she lived. The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater did a performance here (with Revelations) a few years ago. Back when Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace came out, a couple of us saw it here months before public release (due to connections at Hasbro). Providence and the state need this theater.
Michelle Rodriguez
The structure is just Stunning! Mesmerizing! I attended the ShenYun performance last night and a sweet woman, Debra was volunteering as an usher. The attendants were all very professional and helpful! I had such a memorable evening.
Karen Dauer
Loved the experience of "Broadway" in Providence. We saw Fiddler on the Roof on Sunday, 2/16/20 @1. Wow, wow, wow.
Tevye (Yehezkel Lazarov) was fantastic! His voice, his inflection and nuance delivered in each line was fantastic.
The singing and dancing was terrific. We loved the whole show. We are singing the songs - as we knew we would.
Thanks PPAC! We will come back!
Heidi Howard
The ambiance and atmosphere of the architecture of the space is worth going every single time. On this occasion we went to Shen Yun. Tickets have always been pricey so this was the first year I had the chance to go. The show was everything I could have dreamed and much much more.
Farah Dawson
PPAC never disappoints, great shows. Great staff ❤️
Timothy Foster
Such a beautiful place to see a show. Within walking distance to many great restaurants & parking.
Timothy Kesner
Doesn't look like much on the outside, but the interior is stunningly beautiful. Great venue for the performing arts. Can't wait to go back for another show!
ANTHONY MARINO
Wonderful show in a spectacular setting....clean and safe (as can be) environment.
Tami Beranek
Most wonderful emotional experience.
Laurie Connors
Dear Evan Hansen was awesome! All of the voices were outstanding
david king
The inside of the theater is beautiful. It was built in the early 1920's...I think 1924 and was originally a movie theater
jennah hubbell
Just saw Hamilton today after a great season of Broadway shows. Beautiful theater, great shows! We've also seen concerts there as well.
Johnny Stevens
Always a great date night! A season subscription is worth every penny. Don't come hungry... we paid $16 for two cookies and two bottles of water.
Timothy Gering
I saw Bert Kreischer tonight and was in aww of the place. Beautiful is an understatement. Staff were on point.
Roger Ferraro
Small enough to have no really bad seats and big enough to handle Broadway shows. Seats are comfy and seems to be a large number of bathroom stalls for women.
Katie Byers
Beautiful theater. Great performance of dear Evan Hansen
Pgma
Always a lovely experience. Have seen many different types of shows. Staff are always helpful and the ticketing process is easy. Convenient parking right across the street. The building is beautiful.
Joseph Sharkey
Classic. Truly classic. Parking lots in the area are very pricey. But its a 15 minute walk from the Providence Place Mall.
Walk directly away from the statehouse, over the river, and take a right onto Fountain St. Then an immediate left down Union. Just keep walking till you see it down the street on your right.
Deb Gordinier
This is such a great venue. It's cheaper than tickets in Boston and more importantly it's not a hassle to get to. The theater is beautiful.
Michael Celletti
My wife and I went to see A Bronx Tale and it was a fantastic performance. We have seen many shows at this theater and are going back soon to see Jesus Christ Superstar.
Brian Allen

Beautiful theater and one of my favorite buildings to use in Cities: Skylines, one of my favorite games. So for that, 5 stars.

We love the performances we watch at PPAC, now if there was a way to make seating less compact... it can feel like you are sardines in a can if it is a popular/very attended play

I have never written a review of a show before but was so impress with the dress rehearsal of "Beautiful" last night I have to comment. GO SEE THIS SHOW....This was best experience I have ever had at a broadway type show ever, anywhere!! The content, songs, acting, writing, sound, lighting,ETC was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
I don't know if it was just me, baby-boomer, but I had tears in my eyes most of the time. The Carole King songwriting period was at a crucial time in my life and I was in the music biz here then in L.A. so the Don Kirschner, Neil Sedaka connection really resonated with my sense of nostalgia,
This is a MUST SEE show for anyone who loves & misses the sixties and knows Carole King's songs!!
FANTASTIC SHOW!!!
Aaron Spaulding
Fantastic theatre! The viewing from the back was not hindered by people, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The theatre was also clean, as were the bathrooms! Would return!
