Reviews of Chapel Theater
Super fun, great vibes held a little 30-person show here and we were not disappointed at all. Staff and owner super awesome!
Saw a great show and it's a great little venue.
great time at the music swap meet. reconnected with a bunch of old friends, and made some new ones!
Fun little place to see an event. Lots of street parking.
Punk show took me back. Very but I needed the release
Visited here twice in one week during the Fertile Ground Festival to hear some staged readings. Unique build with only street parking and flexible seating depending on the event. They have limited lighting hanging from the ceiling and a small stage for performances. Will have to come back for an actual play and not a staged reading to get a full sense of what they have to offer.
The quality of the production we saw was top notch! Amazing talent. The venue is funky and welcoming, the food and beverage choices were great, and definitely no bad seat in the house... That said, the seats are terribly uncomfortable. My daughter and I are not big people and the chairs felt so small. There was only one possible position to sit in for two and a half hours. I’d highly recommend that the theater provide even slightly more comfortable seating.
Attended a CD release/venue benefit concert. Overall the transformation from church to venue/theater/pizza restaurant of sorts/dance studio/location of neighborhood association meetings has been impressive. Could use more room/better system to hang coats or possibly a coat check during events like the one I attended.
Also noticed that the sign could be more visible/somehow made clear what the place is from the outside. I think with more publicity, marketing etc. this place could really thrive.
Fantastic place, I'm anxious to see it as it evolves.
We just saw an absolutely incredible production called "Plate o' Shrimp" here, it's a musical reproduction of the Alex Cox classic film Repo Man, chock full of incredible renditions of 80s punk songs. Awesome awesome use of a really neat space, brilliant staging and direction, amazing performances all around. My friends and I were absolutely energized by this experience!
This place is dope. I've never been let down by a show at the chapel.
Great people, great theatre. Small bar located inside with pizza. Sometimes has dance classes for good prices. I'd recommend a visit.
Went to a show that was freezing! Space could be great but it's under construction still. Will update if I visit again after it's finished.
Offers beer and handmade pizza.
Not wheelchair accessible.
Yesterday was my first visit to Chapel Theatre for a play reading. I can tell it provides the creative and discerning theatre that I enjoy. They’re part of the Fertile Ground theatre experiences.
This is far beyond community theatre. The talent was incredible. I saw a comedy that made me laugh almost non-stop. You would think intermission would break the flow, but the cast came back even stronger. I was blown away. Phenomenal.
We saw Vampire Tapestry last night and it was great.
So glad we have theater in our neighborhood. The production was great, the staff was great. They have beer and pizza, too.
Small, funky venue with a lot of character! Community theater run out of an old church. We saw an Improv group that was quite funny. Beer, wine, and pizza available.
Milwaukie is fortunate to have this great new space for the arts. There are performances and classes. The owners have a strong commitment to the community, and they're determined to make this space a hub for a wide spectrum of creative arts.
The show we saw here was amazing. The seating while limited there was no bad seat. Pizza was yummy.
This was my first visit to the venue and I have to say it was a comfortable, cute and engaging venue. I'll definitely be going back.

Quaint little place. Saw a comedy show there. Had a good night
Fantastic space, great ownership. A gem 👍👍 …
If you navigate here using Google Maps, it will warn you that parking is scarce in the area, but the theater does have a parking lot.
Such a cool space in Milwaukee. It's intimate and has beer on tap
Chapel Theater is a wonderful community space owned by really wonderful humans!

Great Venue
Phenomenal classes and camps for kids. When I pick my 8yo son up from his Improv class, he is in the highest of high spirits. Playful, confident, connected. It's so valuable for him to get to work on his funny with people other than his parents. My daughter loves her Monologues class where she gets to choose her monologue, have 1 on 1 coaching, and will get to command an entire stage herself! This theater provides amazing opportunities for my children and is also affordable.
