Reviews of Tempe Center For The Arts
Went here with my daughter because she had to do a school project on one of the musicals. Everyone has to wear a mask and being Covid vaccination confirmation. Parking garage is great so no parking issues. Overall, we had a great experience. They have a snack bar inside too so in the interval break you can get snacks. The outdoor area of this place is so beautiful over the lake and the bridge gives you an amazing view and perfect pictures.
Great tour with Steven. Showed us the Fire and Water Gallery together with an informational tour of the building. Well worth a look inside if you are passing by. All the staff are very friendly.
I was visiting for the purposes of a school project and enjoyed my time visiting the gallery. The current “Color” exhibition was curated well and remains open until the end of December for anyone interested in attending! The gallery attendant was super welcoming and shared an interest in mix media involving photography. And, I got to meet one of the artists-in-residence which was a pleasure. Not to mention, I saw a great diversity of young, brilliant artists displaying their talents. After discussing them with the gallery attendant, I look forward to attending the future events in November.
First time visiting to see the works in the gallery. Very beautiful building lots of open space and great architecture. All the staff was friendly and the art in the gallery was very well displayed. They have a nice viewing deck outside to look over part of Tempe and towards Phoenix. Fabulous spot to view the sunset. Can't wait to go back and see a show there.
I always enjoy myself tremendously at TCA. This morning I attended the Fire and Water exhibit in the gallery. This is 100% free to attend. Sandy was a wealth of fascinating facts about the exhibits and lovely to chat with as unbelievably, I had the place all to myself.
Really beautiful venue, easily accessible (although the parking situation is a little bit of a walk but an easy one), very nice gallery with artists in residence for the current exhibit. Beautiful architecture and really peaceful view of Tempe Town Lake.
An intimate venue with excellent acoustics. For many performances, they will validate the parking for the nearby parking garage. Another option for parking, with time and weather permitting, is to park near downtown or at the Tempe Beach Park lot and enjoy the 10 to 15 minute walk along the river. They have a nice bar with many options including some craft beer mostly in cans. The wind symphony sounded so great and balanced. The percussion so crisp. The treble tones and metal instruments resonated for just the perfect amount of time in the silence after a hard stop.
The sound here is much better than most Art centers, I was impressed. Also, there is literally not a bad seat in the place. If you are not catching shows here and you live in the area, shame on you YOU are missing out. We caught a jazz favorite (Eric Darius) there and it was awesome, again the sound in this building and the seating arrangement is wonderful.
The gallery is free for viewing and you can walk around freely. Great place to stop by and cool off!
I had an opportunity to see Will Downing at this venue. I love that there are several areas to relax and hang out with friends before the event. The seating is great in this venue because it is the perfect size to enjoy a more intimate experience with the artist.
Attended events hosted here in the past. This is clearly a beautiful building and location, but be careful about the parade. In the past it's taken me as long to get out of the parkade as watching the event (especially when their exit 'arms' stop working).
This is one of my favorite places. You can get a great view of the damn in the Tempe Town lake on the west side. As well the area surrounding the arts is perfect for watching sunsets and enjoy libations from the bar just inside the building. Parking is still being worked in but it recently opened back up. As well enjoy multiple forms of transportation from skates to bikes to scooters to two-person carts to get around by the waterfront. The arts had some great water views and waterfalls. And amazing lighting at night, as well as other types of paddle boats for the water. Inside the building it is constructed in a very artistic look with bright colors and beautiful pieces of work. Great place to take in smaller concerts and performances. Truly a gem in the desert.
Sound system was not good...first too loud(drowning out Maysa) then overwhelmed by static.
Maysa did her best but it was not what we know she can do. The crowd was embarrassingly sparse. The venue was too cold.
Any comp should be for similar music.
#REALLYFUN Great Christmas musical performance of “A Christmas Carol”!! It was our first time to the Tempe Center for the Arts and it felt like a scene from the Rooring 20s. Loved it!! At the time we went the parking garage was being built and we had to walk kind of far but the scenery and views was actually really nice!
My dad and I went to check out the Tempe Beach Park and ran across the Tempe Art Center! We went inside and enjoyed the Color Exhibit! Henry was working in the exhibit and was super amazing! He offered us a tour of the Color Exhibit and was very knowledgeable about different facts and insights of the Art Center and art pieces! He was exceptional!
My dad and I enjoyed the Art inside and outside! Definitely would recommend! In the Color Exhibit, they had a large variety of different pieces from different artists! Very enjoyable! Included a few pictures below!
Happened to be in Phoenix this weekend and was staying in the Tempe area. Was walking all around the beautiful area and happened upon the free friday night entertainment at the Arts center. The exhibit that night was so unique and interesting. One of the better museum exhibits I have been to in a long time. Romantic area and eclectic evening. Lots of good and cool vibes in the area and the arts center took part. Will definitely be back and keeping an eye on the events happening here.
Friday night happy hour at a fantastic location. Architect Barton Myers created a fantastic destination for the arts. With its picturesque setting on Tempe Town Lake, this location offers an eclectic variety of music, theater and displays. If you're in the area stop by for a visit and be sure not to neglect their generous happy hour offerings.
Very nice complex radar gallery go to the third floor to the viewing deck
You can see art for free while you wait for your event employees are friendly and knowledgeable.
Nice view to the river.
If you're in Tempe this place is really cool to check out. I went to see a free art exhibit. The museum Docent was so nice and very informative. She was really knowledgeable and made me feel welcome. I left with so much information and tips on when to come back for other exhibts.
The show was great. The facilities are super clean and the ushers are quite helpful. The parking seems ample and Google directions worked like a charm. Can't wait to go back some day.
A beautiful building and an ideal location for having an event. We held our annual AZIMA TIMs Award event here and, by far, the best venue we have experienced. The patio overlooking Tempe Town Lake made it feel like a formal and elegant event. Our event room was a perfect size and also had great views. Well done! 👍 …
A beautiful building and location. I look forward to returning for another show sometime soon.
My wife and I enjoyed a Thursday night concert here. A very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We will be back.
The staff was very welcoming and I can't wait to see another show here. A great place for the community to come together.
Amazing place! Great concert 'Soul of Stars' yesterday and interesting modern art exhibition!❤❤
Modern structure and interior. Small but nice and relaxing atmosphere. Good for small to medium size meetings and conferences. Next to the river. Beautiful outside as well.
Even though they were not open..being next to the lake is always nice!!! Great place to walk and enjoy a beautiful day next to a body of water! Family friendly and a great place to take pictures!
This was our 1st time there. And I definitely will be coming back. I really loved the friendliness of the staff and I had a really good time. I came for the purple experience which was attributes of Prince it was awesome. So I'm looking forward to going to him the more events at this location
I adore this arts center. Everything form theatre to music to an art gallery. A great little gift shop, great architecture and wonderful views of Tempe town lake.
Brilliant auditorium for live events. It has great sound, comfy seating, disability friendly areas and entrance, art exhibition and most importantly a bar, with some nice beverages. Lots of parking nearby and scenic walk area by the water feature outside.
I love the Open Mic on Wednesdays from 6 to 10pm. Spirits & coffee are sold and some snack dishes. With that, just pull up a chair & enjoy the talent. And on Fridays & Saturday the Edge has specials to get to socialize, live music & dancing.
Beautiful venue overlooking Tempe Town Lake. I have been here many times for theaters and plays, most recently a trade show. There is a bar and a coffee shop most of the time. I believe food is usually catered if offered.
Beautiful place!! We were there for a wedding and it couldn't have been more perfect!!
The Center is beautiful! I went there for a majic/comedy show and fell in love with the place. I can't wait for and event.
An absolutely gorgeous venue; was able to share some of my work here.
The parking here is not free, you have to pay hourly. But if you drive past the parking lot straight ahead, there is a open dirt area where you can park for free!
Very beautiful place to hang out with family wife friends or loved ones
Staff was very kind and helpful, spent time with the kids to teach them about the exhibit
Lasting memories, and a great performance with awesome seats looking into the opera pit from birds eye view. I experienced "A Christmas Carol" in a new way. WOW- is how I felt seeing both the stage and opera together.
Beautiful building and theater on the Rio Salado. We enjoyed Flamenco La Vida outside Happy hour at the edge. Wonderful!
Romeo Y Julieta Siglo 21. Estuvo muy bonito el show! The play we saw was beautiful and the views at the theatre are so serene. I'm excited to come back and see more plays!!!
Beautiful theatre and they hosted the Banff Film Festival. Love them for this. Use the free parking and trolley if possible. Or bike there (they have racks)
Tempe Center for the Arts is a great venue. They have a little of everything for the Arts. Gallery, Theater, Studio...there's even a great water feature overlooking the Tempe Town Lake.
Excellent! My first visit am a native of Phoenix and didn't know this was here and so beautiful.
Wonderful wind symphony tonight! Lovely venue.
Great place for pictures but be warned their will most likely be other people their to. It has a great view of the Tempe Town Lake and it also has mini water falls. All in all it is great place to vistit and take pictures.
Incredible family day out. Artist were present to show and demonstrate their skills. Very inspiring and motivating. Entire family loved it children and the adults. Very clean space.
We used the bike/running/walk loop on the Salt River. Rental bikes and scooters are available.
Saw Disney's NEWSIES performed by AYT there. Great show, great venue!
Taking Comedy courses at this gorgeous venue. What a beautiful place.
First time here. Saw play 'Asha.' Venue is beautiful. Loved the high ceilings. Theater was cozy. I'd definitely come back
Outstanding, beautiful facility. Super easy parking and a lobby with a Riverview.
Love this place! Very cool to check out day and night. lots to see!
Great place to watch a show. Easy to get to and plenty of close parking.
Beautiful Structure, Too late to view art exhibits.
Great place to watch the Sunset, have a week ending drink on a Friday evening and listen to some excellent music. Happy hour at the Edge.
My daughter had her first play here, the place is immaculate, they even have a little store inside, I wish was opened on Saturdays, with some gorgeous bags.
Great music venue, beautiful view of the water. Wednesday is open Mike nights and it's free for the public.
Great venue that overlooks Tempe Town Lake.
A nice chill place to watch a show, have a wedding, host an event, walk your dog, and to people watch.
Beautiful venue, beautiful art work, beautiful all the way around. Right now, there is construction so you have to park away. But there temporary parking lot was well lit, had multiple security guards, and offered rides to and from the venue. We saw VoicePlay tonight and they were amazing. The staff was so nice and helpful, the jazz band playing before the theater opened was amazing, all in all it was a really good experience.
Rated R magician show was super funny!! Great place also
Phenomenal exterior design. Great use of lining up edges in the fountain outside. Great use of flame effects and lighting. The place has a very futuristic and almost military fort feel to it. If I am not mistaken the whole place is made out of poured cement.
Ever wanted to see a ton of glass lined balconies and stair cases. This is your place. If they ever decide to get rid of the glass and renovate the place PLEASE CALL ME I will gladly show up with a base ball bat and smash the heck out of the glass that is all over the place and get rid of it for you. You don't even have to charge me. I will do it for the fun of it. "
Beautiful day in Scottsdale AZ. Perfect temperature and lots to see. We had a great time riding around on our Ebikes👍🏻 …
Beautiful Contemporary venue. I attended a conference here and the catering was done extremely well. I went out of my way to compliment the coffee cart set-up to the individual managing that area. A school group with A LOT of little kids came through and they seemed genuinely happy to have them.
The theater and location is very beautiful, not one bad seat in the place. The parking is under construction but the trolly bus and golf carts were convenient to get us back and forth to our vehicle from the theater, so we didn't have to walk. I would love to attend other venue's in the near future.
A nice venue. They have a small bar and a small gift shop, and a decent seating arrangement. Like most such places, legroom is limited.
I finally got to go here for a show after it having been opened for 10 years. The show was 42nd Street. The performance space is wonderful...very well laid out and easy to get in and out of your seats. From the outside, you can not imagine how beautiful it is inside. Just beware that currently in 2018 there is a lot of construction going on next door and parking is farther away than normal, so plan to arrive early.
Beautiful venue and an excellent venue that makes Phoenix great again with many family based events.
My first time here was on a field trip with my son's class. The play was lively and my son thought it was hilarious (Go Dog Go). Afterwards we went outside to have lunch and loved all the open grass areas. The lake nearby provided a beautiful view and the kids loved it (kept asking to swim in it). We will definitely be coming back for more events and to enjoy the area longer than a couple hours on a field trip ;)
Attended a Contemporary Dance Festival presented by Carley Conder Dance! Totally excellent, from beginning to end. Well organized, on time, dancers extraordinary, technicians were the best! And the building itself is immaculate. Beautiful clean lobby, bar, gift shop (a little on the expensive side) , gallery...and other smaller music performances in the lobby. Oh, there is construction going on where the parking lot use to be but they have that covered too! Free Shuttle Buses! They thought of everything! Excellent evening.
Amazing place! Great views!
Parking problems! Plan for more time. They're constructing a big multi level garage and parking is somewhat off site with a shuttle to take you to the center. When we arrived many roads were blocked off for the iron man triathlon too. Totally frustrating and almost didn't make our 2pm show. Otherwise it's a very attractive venue for smaller scale shows and has a small rotating art space too. Beautiful views from the lobby
Great facility Beautiful setting Good staff BUT poor parking
I have passed by here many many times, mostly biking or running with a few visits to the museum and a few events in the main gallery. But this is my first time at an event in the main theater. Nice. I was there with a group of friends to view the Tempe edition of the Banff Film Festival . The main downside was the parking. They are in the middle of completing a building where the parking lot used to be. They did supply a shuttle to the temporary parking, but we walked. I hope they have sufficient parking when all the construction is completed. Thank you Tempe
Special cultural event center for AZ,and the PHX area in general. the setting is
remarkable especially at nite, on the lake
with skyline as a backdrop.
This is a beautiful arts center and I truly enjoyed attending a Christmas music event "Swinging Christmas Too" in their Studio Theater. This is a smaller, more intimate theater in the TCA complex, and it was a perfect venue for this event. it's truly lovely to look out over Tempe Town lake at night and see the lights across the bridge... all so nicely done!
One of the best kept secrets in Tempe. Well worth the visit to see the art and architecture.
This place is so awesome, good place to go around along with family, friends and kids. Canal view, park and good for fresh air, bike rides and scooters rented for convenience.
Arts center is well equipped and very good place to host events and small meetings.
Amazing place! I can't wait to watch the show I am here to see!
Wonderful place in a beautiful setting, we were able to enjoy a glass of wine on the outdoor patio before the performance. The performance was wonderful, every seat is a good one.
Free shuttle service during construction! Follow the signs to the parking at the intersection of Hardy and Rio Salado There's a parking attendant helping to manage the parking lot. It's gravel with painted lines. The free shuttle buses pick you up at the North West corner of the lot during major events.
There's a small bar inside where you can buy light appetizer plates and drinks. They had the outdoor fire pit lit on the Friday evening when I was there. Beautiful building and such a nice view. There was live entertainment. It's a casual, relaxing venue.
Was here for a charity event recently. The sound system and video system kept going out during the performances/show. Also, the A/C was not working very well and it was rather warm in the venue.
The venue itself is nice, with a large foyer for mingling before the event itself.
This is a superb 5 Star facility with wonderful shows. We saw the Tempe Symphony tonight . Free and magnificent.
The parking however is a challenge. They destroyed the nice paved adjacent parking lot to build a new building. Parking now is an awful gravel lot nearly a half mile from the TCA. Sure there are buses to shuttle people, but that adds time and discomfort to the visit. We walked to the lot after the show as the shuttle was no where to be seen. Almost we're run into by a skate boarder.
I don't know what their long term plans but for the present go early and be prepared to put up with lots of dust on your car and a long walk.
But the show was worth it
Was putting on a new roof there. Glad it's finally done!!
Great place to check out. Family friendly.
Great venue to see and host performances. It's located on the waterfront of Tempe Town Lake with the gorgeous view. It has a wine bar and a number of outdoor and indoor spots to lounge. Within a 5 minute radius you can easily reach a variety of restaurants and downtowner Tempe - Mill Ave.
Awesome experience doing something a little unique. I felt very welcomed by the employees. Can't wait to go back.
I’ve only been in one space but it’s such a neat venue!
This is a great place to attend a show, gala, or event that makes ya feel fancy. I've participated in several shows in the Lakeside room which has stunning views of Tempe Town Lake. I've also seen all sorts of cool events as I go to my class on Tuesdays.
The only reason I'm knocking 1 star is due to the parking. It's awful. You have to park 5-10 min walk away - fortunately most of the time they have folks in golf carts that come pick you up. Most of the time.
Nice views of Tempe Town Lake. Performance areas are nice with good acoustics and seating. One of the nicer performance centers in the valley with really nice atmosphere and modern architecture. A lot of money went into building this center for the arts. Could stand to attract better events, seems to be underused.
Beautiful facility with multiple theaters. Good for a wedding / reception venue
Really great facility to see a show. It's got a beautiful patio that looks over the river. I recommend the EDGE series. It's free concerts of all types with food and drink you for purchase.
My two boys and I had a really fun time playing golf and air hockey. The lady working there was very friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable.
We have utilized space at TCA for several years for events. We could not be happier with the level of communication before, during and after our event. Every member of their staff who assisted our productions went above and beyond to be helpful and courteous. The pricing for the amount of support and experienced staff you receive hosting an event on site is unmatched.
Walk in Wednesday is always enjoyable.
Excellent dance and multi media performance with a reception. Beautiful architecture at the Tempe lake, free parking. Will definitely go again just to enjoy the lake side sitting area at the cafe.
This is the place where I turn around and start the way back on my 13 mile ride.
What a beautiful facility can't wait to go back and do more exploring. Went for the fireworks display at Tempe town lake watching from AC what a concept will definitely do this again. $15 see the art gallery and wow the gift shop was it's own gallery filled with works from local artists plus AC comfort the temperature outside was just shy of triple digits. Again can't wait to go back.
Great space for the community to gather and support the arts. They have a cool open mic on Wednesdays.
One of the nicest Center For the Arts of all the suburbs of Phoenix. Staff is good. seats are very comfortable. Bar with snacks available for the earlier parts of most shows. parking is normally not a problem
Great performance of 42nd Street! And there is not a bad seat in the house. You can't go wrong here, the building is beautiful, the lake is right there, the dam is right there, be sure to take time for some pictures, it's beautiful.
Lovely performing arts facility on Tempe Town Lake. Parking is a little awkward at the moment due to adjacent construction as Tempe stuffs in buildings along the lake. But a nice stroll along the lake from the temporary parking lot and they have a golf cart shuttle as well.
We saw Detroit, a play about the 60s race violence (cops v. Blacks) and the impact on one middle class family. Well done in the smaller theater. Good acting. Beverage service available in the lobby with small snacks.
Great atmosphere to experience art. The ushers are very nice and welcoming. There's a small bar inside the place, and a great view of Tempe Town Lake ☺
Wonderful facility, but currently undergoing a parking garage build, so you can't park close on site until probably 2020. Shuttles do run from a different parking garage, and golf carts do run at certain hours if you park out in the gravel.
Kathleen and her team are amazing! The facility is wonderful and I thoroughly enjoy my visit each time!
Really quiet and relaxing. The lady watching the art gallery was very friendly and greeted us as we entered. Great place to have lunch as well since it borders the river. Would recommend.
I would give them 5 stars if they could get their act together about FOOD! 3-6 years ago when they had the cafe/lounge open and serving salads and wraps, especially for happy hour events and concerts, they partnered with CATERING companies to provide the food and alcohol and service. The TCA manager is a city employee who gets paid no matter what. Now, there is NO FOOD available (except sun chips) and a small carbs laden $8 buffet during weekend HH events, and they won't allow you to bring in your own food! Has completely mystified me for years!
As a result, attendance at The Edge HH events is shamefully sparse when years ago when the food buffet was free it was packed and people purchased a lot of alcohol. I've noticed that most other events are also thinly attended...makes me wonder how long they can keep this up? But with the new parking garage and forthcoming retail stores and restaurants might help. Partnering with ASU has saved their butts! One Tuesday/month during regular school season, ASU provides free musical events in the Lakeside room with complimentary coffee/tea/biscotti service. Get there before 9:15 am when the busloads of seniors unload and you will be sitting in the back.
DO stop in regularly to check out their Art Gallery as they do a great job with this. Their gift shop also has a delightful selection of LOCAL artist jewelry, wearables, cards, etc. The Friday and Saturday night Edge HH also promotes local musical talent gleaned from their Wed walk-in mic nights. Hopefully attendance will pick up again once there are available food options close by.
Otherwise, it is a stunning building, especially at night, and with the infinity pool, gas fires and color lighting. Very magical. Still a favorite place to go to, but it could have been so much more!
The show was EXCELLENT! The parking and customer service was horrible. Had to park half a mile away and then get shuttled in the rain all the way to the theater. There was no covering going to the theater so then you got to the theater and soaking wet. I asked for some paper towels to dry off and they said just have a seat and we will bring some to help dry you off. They never change so sat through the entire show soaking wet. I was told that I had VIP seating but was exported to the balcony. And told there are no VIP Seasons here. however there were several seats saved in the front for other people.
Absolutely amazing! Came for the "Flora & Ulysses" play, and was so incredibly pleased! The theatre is very very nice! And te show was just a triumph in children's theatre! Would come see this performance over and over and over again!
This place is always fabulous inside and out! The Gallery is a must see. The exhibits change frequently and it is free!! Take a nice stroll from the TCA to Tempe Town Lake and enjoy the views. It's a great date place at sunset!!
It was the best time there. Music was very nice, as this was my first exposure to watch someone in front of me and performing music. Music is bound to no boundaries I am from Pakistan and I love the way people present their art and I loved their art. And I understand that these artists are distributing love peaece and harmony and I guess artists should be used for interfaith peace and harmony so that to bring people closer to discard hatred and violence. We should take steps to promote artists and art, because they are great. And and #Tempe Center for the Art is playing a positive role in this regard.
Walk-in Wednesday open mic is a free and fantastic way to immerse yourself in the local music scene. Put on by local music man Walk Richardson, this recurring Wednesday treat is outstanding.
The venue itself is incredible. Beautiful shapes and colors tantalize the eyes. Great views of the lake, friendly staff, and really good happy hour prices at the bar make this a standout landmark in Tempe.
Tempe Center for the Arts is a great place to go see a performance and support the local theaters in Arizona. My son's just performed for actors youth theater in the production Newsies. The people were friendly, cocktails were excellent and it was an amazing time.
Went to see Bianca Del Rio here. Not a bad venue. Alcohol is available, not to mention they have a lounge area where you can mingle before/ mid/ and after the show.
Beautiful. Classic but modern. Great events. It's pretty ideal for a venue of this kind. I've never had a bad experience. Several shows, fundraisers, etc later and it's all been great.
Stopped by for a play, nice intimate theater, great tickets prices. They have a bar with different happy hour events, tonight's was a jazz trio. Will stop by again.
Great place to visit! I kile to bring my kids here when ethey offer free gallery shows, it's cute to see all the photographers around, very colorful and there's always some type of music either playing for the audience or in the background from students practicing instruments. Our last visit was for a photoshoot outside but there was a sandstorm, the security guard let usj insode until it passed even though it was already closed to the public.
Beautiful building on lake and Christmas lights on pedestrian bridge are spectacular. Parking is difficult with another building being built next to it. Had to park in unpaved area and walk or take shuttle back to TCA.
Fine performance space by the lake! Parking under construction on 9-11-2018, but shuttle service super. Unusual internal arrangement makes seating and access difficult.
Night time view from the walk facing the lake is to die for. The waterfall, fire features....was truly wonderful. Went to see a play (Cool Like That: A Tribute To Miles Davis) and a book reading. Both activities were enhanced by the venue. Only disappointment...they didn't have my favorite spirit, Grand Marnier. Merlot is nice but with so many things clicking to make for an exquisite evening, don't slip on the spirits lol Overall, I love this place ;-)
Peaceful, fun, energetic, lively way to spend time with friend and fam.
Saw Rogers's Tom Jones and the Motown Blossoms. Show was great and there is not a bad seat in the house. It is right on the water and has a beautiful view at night.
Gorgeous venue. Wide variety of events scheduled constantly. Staff is always helpful and polite. Prices are good. Great art gallery and gift shop with a nice mix of local art.
Lovely venue. Pretty restroom. Cute small shop. Outside lounge with view of the lake and bridge. Comfortable seating and good acoustics
Visited for a small convention, nice enough to validate parking.
There are no bad seats.
Great place to see a play. We have been to both theaters and enjoyed both. They have a museum and cafe inside and a great reflective pool outside where you can take pictures.
Amazing facility, and has a nice view. If you're traveling, though, just remember the WiFi only works in the main lobby area and is weak in the theatre and other parts of the building (as of August 2016).
Nice place to ride bikes
Beautiful!!! Everything you would ask for in a performing arts center. Plus being by the Tempe Town Lake is a romantic addition to your visit here. Highly recommend it!!
This place is really nice to visit. However, the staff are very rude and judgemental. They treated us as if we were not welcome and we were "loitering" when all we were doing was sitting in the outside area enjoying the view. THATS WHAT THE PLACE IS FOR!!!! They really overstepped a few boundaries as far as I'm concerned.
This is an AMAZING building!! Went to see my granddaughter'a dance recital!
Had one problem tho, when you put all those bodies togerher it gets VERY WARM. I'm not the only one complaining. Several members of my family also thought it was WAY to hot!!
Great venue! Only problem is the dirt parking lot that is far away from the entrance. Thankfully they have golf carts and trolleys to shuttle you over to the venue.
Nice place for walk, lake facing park
Awesome place in Tempe Arizona. The architecture is really amazing, and the waterfront with the Bridge is beautiful at night when lit up! Check out their calendar for events & theatrical plays or musicals!
It's everything about the arts on fridays and saturdays they have free music 3 to 6 pm. U will need to check schedules to see whats playing maney intresting things going on. Prices range from 10 to 35 dollars in the theater.
Its really nice, it is a good place for exercise and for walking and really nice for the fam.
TCA *ROCKS*. Everyone from the concierge dude (seriously, he has fascinating stories/info on every aspect of the place!) to the awesome guy ferrying you from the parking lot to the front (impressively considerate and perceptive) is a delight in every interaction! My parents go to their events (OMG, they're in love with the happy hour: live music and tasty tasties), but my favorite part is their gallery! I'm one of those dorks who would *always* rather have a museum membership than all the dinners and movies put together; just TRY to get me out of the Gardner or the British Museum, or even the General Patton one!!?! Every time I go it changes my life. My favorite to date was the one with the array of thin ball chains hanging from the ceiling: it constantly challenged your perception, and it felt like being inside a crystal lattice. Lying down to look up through it, I was staring at myriad paths into infinity, suddenly irrefutably infinitesimally small and ethereal. Even the current monster exhibit (I REALLY dislike the entire horror genre -- barf, ick) clicked parts in my heart and brain that delighted me or made me all but cry. Yay, TCA! <3
Intimate venue....get more entertainment!
Beautiful Theater and grounds and in the theater you can see great even from the upper levels. Just remember not to put your feet on the seat ahead of you or the ushers will (politely) remind you.
Such a nice little theater. The front row is against the stage. Very friendly staff and several amazing places to take great photos
The Center for the Arts is a jewel in Tempe's beautiful lake district (if thats what its called now) not only does it sit at the pinnacle of the lake and the dam. Its architecture and interior are aesthetically appealing. The mission and community outreach are possibly the best parts of the TCA. Run by a tremendously talented team and there are a number of dynamic programs housed here that offer something for everyone. Funded by the City and the residents of Tempe programming is focused on the mission and intentional offerings. We love the TCA
Fun and free art gallery! Very friendly employees in all areas of the center. Theater, restaurant at select times, great views and observation area. Very nice!
Very impressed, love its location on the river and the views, we were there at night I'm interested to see it day time too, nice bar in the lobby on the river.
Gorgeous venue without a bad seat. Saw Scottsdale Musical Theater Company's production of My Fair Lady, and it was a positive experience.
Seasonal shows, events, and more. Beautiful, large facility. Walk-in Wednesdays are a great event that runs. Huge concert hall has preformances frequently.
The building itself is beautiful and very accommodating. However, I wish there were more options for shows and more diversity in they types of shows.
Great venue and until tonight I had nothing but good to say.
During the intermission we took kids to the little snack & drink bar. There were 2 little girls in front of us, first in line. They stepped up to the counter to see the choices, just past a sign that said, "line starts here" And that idiot behind the counter went full Soup Nazi. He wouldn't wait on them till the went back into the line, behind the sign. Of course they were confused and went to the end, several back. He called us to be next and in the moment my mind was processing what I saw, so we just stepped forward to be served. I should have made him wait on them first. What a dick.
Wonderful events in a beautifully designed place. I couldnt speak higher of this place. I would say it is a little smaller on the inside than one would imagine, given there are separate venues within.
Such a great art exposition center with a family friendly environment
This place was awesome . Went to see dailey and vincent. Was a good venue not to small but small enough to really enjoy the show. There is also a art museum in the lobby.
This is one of the most beautiful places in Tempe, who ever designed this piece of art it's a genius because it got gorgeous views all around
And the bridge just right in front of it all the landscaping and the lake it makes this place out of this world, I come here at least ones a month
Great job city of Tempe 👍
Gorgeous Venue, inside and out!!! Great programs for young, old for every genre! Very proud we have this in Tempe, especially at Lake front. Beautiful!!!
always clean, beautiful bathrooms, great place to come clear your head. I love sitting on the top balcony level, it is a must see.
Great location for local events. Area is under construction so parking is a bit of an issue but outside of that great location and the play I attended, The Wiz, was wonderful.
Pretty cool place for a conference. Lost a star due to poor parking options - pay $3/hr for garage or park in big dirt lot.
The Tempe Center for the Arts is a lovely building on Tempe Town Lake. Brilliant date spot with the bridge going across the lake, free music on Friday and Saturdays in the lobby, and art exhibits in the gallery.
Day or night, this area of Tempe is a public paradise
Great venue. Needs more live artists that cater to the younger folks. Old people will only be around for so much longer.
Fabulous venue. Gorgeous views on the outside patio. Not too big not too small. Good acoustics..
It was surprising to me to visit such lovely site like that
I loved being a volunteer at TCA. I think this building is the most beautiful building I have ever been in. My dream is to have my wedding reception here one day!
Such a cool looking building and a really interesting western art exhibition going right now. Frequent live events and a great location next to the water.
No good parking, tried to make too fancy
Beautiful place to perform!
Beautiful venue for Tempe arts. Has open mic night every Wednesday. I perform there with the Arizona Wind Symphony. Every performance the bar makes a special drink to fit the theme of the performance.
Nice venue. Parking, which has been good, is restricted due to construction. Remains to be seen if the experience will be as satisfying afterward.
Very nice theatre. Plenty of room and comfortable seats. They offer cushions to raise the seats for the little ones higher.
Not too much there yet but it's great after a hike
Indigenous Arts Arizona Festival was fantastic!
Song, dance, music, activities & food (frybread tacos)!
What a great venue!! Even in the balcony not a bad seat in the house. Here for deadhot workshop.. so excited for them
Lovely little place! The parking is a bit cluttered but I'm sure they'll fix that eventually with the new garage going in.
Wonderful place. Absolutely loved it here. Went for a class field trip and everything went smoothly and very organized! Loved the Go Dog, Go!
Went there for a photo shoot on the pier definitely a must see spot if you are in Phoenix, parking is a problem as they are renovating the place but worth the trouble specially at night its awesome
Stunning unique building on beautiful Tempe Town Lake. Comedy, theater, music, even an art gallery, TCA offers much to add to the culture and community of Tempe and Greater Phoenix.
Tempe Center for the Arts is a beautiful theatre to enjoy a play, a concert, an art exhibit or just a place to visit stroll around the lake, enjoy a sunset and have a great time.
Beautiful structure and lovely nature/Park area. The balcony at the top was great too, lots of seats and an amazing view!
Fun place. Went here with my daughter and her class for school to watch a play that was funny and done very well. Definitely something different to do
Came here to see the tempe symphony! Beautiful facility. Even has a great gift shop! Love the waterfront view too!
Relevant shows, a well curated gallery, and a celebration room w infinity pool. Fri/Sat happy hour a big plus.
The concert hall is beautiful, comfortable, and has great sound quality. A top notch facility.
Beautiful building & wonderful setting to hear Tempe Symphony Orchestra!
Interesting park. Nice long loop for walks. I bet it gets very busy peak times. Just a nice atmosphere. Loud due to airport.
Outside sculpture garden perfect for evening concert... Friendly staff
I don't think that their bar tenders know how to use bitters at all, but other than that it's a great place
Good venue for fairly intimate shows, but mask policy oppressive.
Seats are a little tight, but not a bad seat in the house. An absolute beautiful building, inside and out.
Love this venue. Not a bad seat and a beautiful setting along the lake.
Road construction made it difficult to get there. Shuttle from a distance off was helpful, and a delay in starting the performance helped. Leave extra time.
The gallery was electric..need to go back and attend a few events.. nice gift shop with some inexpensive gifts made by local artists..staff were very helpful and kind.
Great venue with a view!
Stunning building with breathtaking views of Tempe and the lake. Take the elevator to the third floor and walk out on the view platform (enclosed on sides for faint of heart).
Nice to see patrons participating in some paint therapy... Different artistic expressions... Looking forward to going to theatre n listen to opera or orchestra in the future...
I've only been to this place once for a career mixer. The view was spectacular. They seemed very organized.

Often has ballet, etc. Plenty of parking. Great architecture and view of Tempe Town Lake. PokéStops.
The facility is fabulous, however the current parking and bus service due to construction is not ideal.
It's the best arts center in the valley. It's much more than a few stages, with art classes for kids and adults in a new facility across the street.
