Reviews of Forrest Theatre
Forrest Theater is one of those old world architectural marvels that stand the test of time. Sure, the seats are narrower and rows closer together so tall or fat people will find seating cramped (bring knee pads?!), just as at the Walnut St Theater and at the Mirriam (now called Miller). My first time ever inside was to see the Broadway cast performance of Dear Evan Hansen, and I was legitimately wowed by the well maintained interiors oozing old world charm. Most cities would kill to have one such theater venue and Philly has several that have survived to this day, Forrest is one of those.
What an amazing musical. You must see Dear Evan Hansen! The Forrest Theatre did such an amazing job. Cheers to the sound managers and their work. The whole production was wonderful
Love the Forrest Theater. Always clean and friendly employees. Never had a bad seat and always a good play
Great place to see a play or musical. There's not a bad seat in the place.
Very clean. Bathroom are small and hard to find. Men's room is up a steep flight of stairs. As usual their performance was top notch. Place had a friendly atmosphere.
A very classic, elegant theater that has a large seating. Sound travels very well in here even from the furthers reaches of the stage. From check in to the bathrooms the Forrest Theater is quick and efficient, thanks to the a shift leader known as Tanya.
Due to it being a old broadway theater taller and more portly viewers may consider needing to use wheelchair seating because there is little leg room (at least on the mezzanine). Also the very back of the orchestra doesn't look that far away at all. Either way, the efficiencies and elegance of the theater help immerse you in the show without ever needing to be frustrated.
One last thing, cast members after the show do not meet in front of the theater but staff members will happily provide you with directions on where to meet them!
The Forrest Theater is absolutely stunning.
Not only one of the great older venues in the city, this venue has been well maintained, giving you an excellent experience when watching the current performance.
Lovely building, and there isn't a bad seat in the house!
My family was here for the Hamilton show. The theatre is nice and we felt comfortable there. The bathrooms on the upper level are really tight, so consider going to basement, which is a better bathrooms. But beside that, it is a nice theatre. Now, being there for Hamilton may have helped, since Hamilton show was fantastic as expected.
Went to see Hamilton and the show was fantastic. The theatre itself is uncomfortable for my height which is almost 6’4, my legs were pressed against the seat in front of me and I had an aisle seat! I’m used to paying inflated prices for a drink when out in the city but for a vodka and soda and a box of sour patch kids to cost almost $40 without tip is just absurd (especially since it was a 1oz pour at best). I’m not sure if I’d recommend going to the Forrest Theatre but i’d definitely recommend seeing Hamilton!
We saw Dear Evan Hansen last night. Extremely moving performance, such a relevant show for modern society. The theater is beautiful!
Just saw Dear Evan Hansen here. Really beautiful venue and very clean. Ushers eere very kind and helpful. This was my 2nd show here. Will be happy to come back for more.
Nice place to see a show. The lobby is smaller, so there is usually a line to get into the building (as opposed to the Academy of Music where there is usually a line once you're inside). As with all the older theaters in the city, the seats are small and there is very little legroom. However, there aren't any columns to block the view (like at the Academy).
This photo was taken in the center rear mezzanine.
Absolutely gorgeous venue. Feels very intimate despite being able to seat 1800 people. Everyone with whom we interacted was so pleasant and eager to help, and you could tell that they truly enjoyed what they were doing. Buying tickets online was an easy process. Definitely recommend stopping in to see a show here if you can!
The Forrest Theater is a beautiful theater. The architecture and design is intricate and stunning. The seats are a little small, but what do you expect, the theatre is almost 100 years old.
I have to say this is one of the most beautiful theatres in the city, but it does suffer from some of the space related issues of other similar small theaters downtown. It's a little bit cramped inside, especially for someone who's 6'3, but overall I'm a big fan. It's particularly romantic if you're taking someone out.
Beautiful historic building... Just don't sit in the nose bleed section.
As many note, this is an old theater which brings wonderful shows to Philadelphia. Hamilton is one of those. As with many older venues, providing for handicap seating is a challenge. If you have special needs do not select G22. Your view of more than half the stage is blocked by the sound system. This seat should not be sold to anyone.
A fabulous old world style theater. Going there is an Occasion. Upper mezzanine seats are decent size for your butt. I don't know how tall people can handle the tight l eg room.
Beautiful old school theater. With great sight lines.
The venue was beautiful and the Hamilton production was incredible. I'm giving 3 stars because I had to use the men's restroom because the women's line was still out the door as the lights were blinking for the start and the second act. AND, because there are no price tags at the bar I paid $44 plus tip for a beer and a single gin and tonic. I was assuming $9 beer and $15 mixed drink but this price was ridiculous. I would have never got this if they had prices on things -- plus $5 each for a sippy cup. I was Hoodwinked.
Beautiful theater. Comfortable seats. Great sound. Courtesy staff. Awesome performance.
Beautiful! No elevator. Tons of steps. Staff very friendly and helpful. Drinks and snacks outrageously overpriced.
Gone plenty of times to know it is always a great time and seats are always great on the balcony no matter which seats you pick.
Gorgeous theater, full of history. Really great sound quality and stunning theater
Not as nice as it's sister place the Academy of Music but it is nice it's beautiful but it's not quite as comfortable when you're sitting in it.
Had great seats to see A Soldier's Play. Excellent play.
went to go see it for Hamilton, it’s beautiful, nice service, top notch, 11/10 would recommend.
I saw Hamilton here twice. I sat in the upper mezzanine second section the first time and loved it. I then sat row M orchestra left and it was a stunning view with an entirely different perspective of the wonderful play.
Leg room is lacking and the chairs aren't super comfortable, but I have enjoyed both shows here. The theater is gorgeous as well, really feels nice to walk into and enjoy a wonderful show.
The show (Hamilton) was absolutely amazing, but the prices of the concessions were insane ($60 for two drinks at the bar...) and the seats were incredibly tight. The seat width was fine, but the depth between the seats was incredibly tight. Your knees will be on the backs of the people in front of you. I recommend wearing heels if you can to help elevate your knees a bit to avoid the seat in front of you.
I do have to commend the ushers for their swiftness in making sure everyone makes it to the bathroom during intermission - it was truly incredible how they were able to move the crowd through the bathrooms with such speed and grace during intermission.
Went with my daughter to see Hamilton and had Excellent Center row Orchestra seats. I am big guy (tall and wide) and I was comfortable in my seat. Everyone was friendly and nice. My only problem is like many older theaters, when you have to go to the bathroom everyone has to get up in the row. The main bathroom is upstairs and you can wait. Some people go across the street, but other than that, we had a wonderful time.
I'm pretty sure there isn't a bad seat in the house! Everything about the production we saw (Hamilton) was outstanding; from the theatre perspective, the lighting and sound were flawless. Staff was pleasant, seating was comfortable, and the temperature inside the theatre was not ridiculous. 😆. There's also sufficient parking within easy walking distance.
Saw Oklahoma there. Enjoyed the show. This is a beautiful theatre, however like many classic théâtres it was a bit cramped, especially for a guy with wide shoulders.
Just saw Cats. Great performance. Acoustics were excellent and the seats more comfortable than described in the reviews I saw. Will definitely go back. Had good seats, orchestra section, row f, seat 104, 103. 10 out of 10 would recommend seeing a show here. Just pregame if you like your libations as a double Hendrick's and tonic with souvenir cup ran me 27 bucks. Cheers!
It's a beautiful theater! Great sight lines.
This is a wonderful theater in terms of look, location and views. It is absolutely the least comfortable experience I have had in a theater before. The upper seats are so tight and small that if you're over 6' you will lose the feeling in your legs. I had no where to put my legs, and if you're a bigger person in general forget it, super uncomfortable.
SpongeBob the musical is quite fun entertaining. Forest theater is a beautiful turn of the century house.
Saw Hamilton there and the show, of course, was awesome. Seating is tight but I was comfortable. This may not be the case if you are tall or have a larger build. Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful. The theater was conveniently located just a block or two from the high speed line.
Great theater. We were in the balcony and had a great view of Hamilton. The accustics where great as well. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Could probably use more bathroom capacity and it would be great if they could ban food from the theater so I don't have to hear the woman behind me digging through her candy throughout the second half of the play.
Watched Hamilton here. Loved the theater, the play and will definitely be back here again soon.
Staff was very efficient at moving a sold out crowd to their seats and through intermission. Multiple bars made getting drinks easy and not too slow. The theater itself is gorgeous. Seats are a little tight. Production facilities seem excellent.
Tiny theater, but great view! The architecture is amazing as well. Saw Hamilton here which also DID NOT disappoint. Always a restroom line, but to be honest, in these old theaters when isn't there one. Go enjoy a show, just be ready to be crammed in.
They say a picture's worth a thousand words, thought I should share with review to give you a glimpse. The theater is awesome. The seats are comfortable, acoustics amazing, and the shows they tend to get are always superb. I don't go to the theater often but this was truly an enjoyable experience all around.
Some advice: Moriarty's a couple doors down on the same street is great for dinner before the show. Food is amazing. There's extremely convenient parking nearby which makes for a low stress trip.
Forgive the photo Forrest theater, hoping this shows people a sense of the spacing of the seats and a general feel for the theater. If you want the photo removed please let me know and I'll do so.
Theater was beautiful Show was great.Seats were great as far as seeing the show but were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever sat in. My legs were numb by intermission and it took awhile to get them to work which was made more difficult to navigate the very steep and numerous steps. I loved the whole experience and the show but will never go back to this venue. 2 days later my legs still hurt.
As all the reviews say, the theater is beautiful and all the staff members were very courteous and helpful. However, the seats are super uncomfortable, and the lines for the bathrooms during intermission were absolutely horrible. While waiting in line I wasn't even in sight of the bathroom yet when the lights started blinking to go back into the show. They need to do some updates here to accommodate the audience a little better.
Was there for Hamilton! Been wanting to see it, but was never going to make it up to NYC to see it. Then my beloved Philadelphia put on a production of it, and I didn’t “throw away MY SHOT!” The theater was absolutely stunning! They don’t make them like this anymore. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice night out on the town! Philadelphia has a special place in my heart, and offers so much!
My only minor issue was the seats up in the Mezzanine section. Our view was fantastic, but the seats were small, TIGHT, and kind of on the steep side. There is no wiggle/adjusting room at all. If you have long legs, older with physical issues, or have any kind of hips to you, these seats aren’t for you. Having longer legs and hips, it was a challenge to get comfortable. I did have to stand out of the way for awhile to get relief.
Just wanted to give a warning to anyone looking in the section. Still happy with the experience overall, I just know now to get seats in a different section!
Gorgeous theatre, saw Hamilton here and it was amazing! It would be 5 stars if they didn't gouge you on the concessions. $400 for two tickets to the show is fair but a beer and cocktail cost me $44 plus tip, WTF?!
Attended the Broadway show CATS. It was excellent! The choreography and the rendition of the song Memories was breathtaking.
Comfortable seats. Not the best thesther for plder people. Floor is in an incline. My husband almost fell 3 times. Oklahoma boring
Just saw Hamilton Oct 8 and it was fabulous!!! The cast was awesome!!!! Hamilton, Washington, Burr-wow what great voices! All the cast was great. The theater is beautiful but seats were a bit cramped. The staff were helpful and very pleasant.
This is a beautiful old theater. We had a lovely time at the show. Our seats were phenomenal! The only complaint I have is that the lines for the bathrooms at intermission were very long and we had to just give up and go back to our seats.
Gorgeous theatre. We went for Hamilton which was amazing.
One tip: go to the bathroom before you get here! If you try to go at intermission, you'll be lucky if you get back to your seat before the show starts back up. 2nd floor women's room only has 3 stalls.
Older theater but great views from most seats. A lot of stairs. Not ideal for people that have mobility issues. Seats are on smaller side as well. I had an enjoyable experience but could see how some may not be comfortable.
We went to see Hamilton at the Forrest Theatre on Wednesday evening. We had to wait for a short time outside in the cold. They were pretty quick about getting us off the street. We we in the late row on the main floor and had an excellent view of the stage. No obstructions and comfortable seats. We had a good idea of our seat location so we did not need much assistance getting seated. Used the facilities before sitting so as not to have to get up later. Visually bathrooms were not stunning, fairly clean, did not cringe when I entered. The play was split up into 2 acts and got a reasonable break in between. So all in all the theatre handled the evening well. As for the Hamilton great singing and acting really a high energy production. We enjoyed the show immensely. A large portion of act 1 was primarily a Rap production. Ok for a while but because of the pace of the production, remember I said it was a high energy show, it got tiresome for me, a 68 yrs old. For the most part understandable even at the rapid pace of the show. By the end of act 1 the dialogue became dialogue with simple singing with some Rap tempo which was entertaining without having to sit on every word being sung. The show was worth the travel and the theatre handled it all well. I know big name productions can garner a high price but 200 a seat for the last row floor level!
We went to go see Hamilton, which was great! I'm actually not a play person, but I was glad with the results. The one thing I will note is that the sitting area is a little tight, sooo if by chance your a little on the over weight side don't go or choose floor seats, thank God I lost over 50lbs! Also the drinks are a tab bit over priced; $40 for a bottle of water and Jameson on the rocks, including tip. Otherwise had a great time!
Very enjoyable setting for a play with good air conditioning on a hot night.
Saw Hamilton here. Such a classy venue to enjoy an Epic musical!! Seating comfortable row are a little bit tight but I absolutely enjoyed my visit...they even had libations 👍 …
An amazing example of what theaters can be. Intimate yet large enough to bring on the great shows.
Recommend the upper level seats vs. the floor seats. A bit more affordable and far better views of the entire stage.
What a beautiful old theatre! Oddly, we were kept outside the theatre until shortly before doors opened - and no merch was available until doors opened too, which seems odd as it increased crowding and lessened the time we had to spend money - but it's a great theatre and our seats were wonderful. The downstairs lounge and bar was a great surprise.
First time back at the Forest in ages! Theater was gorgeous and accustics were wonderful. Would have definitely rated 5 stars but seats are not up to current comfort standards (far too tight ).
Its beautiful, and by comparison, the seating is quite generous. I went to a show in NYC and there was barely enough room for my feet! Let alone knees and my legs were pressed against the seat in front of me for the entire duration of Chicago! (Ugh)
Beautiful theater with great visibility of the stage. If you have long legs the seats may be tight. As in most theaters, expect long lines for the ladies room, particularly on the higher levels.
Hamilton was as good as advertised. The theatre seats are not at all comfortable. Makes traveling coach on a commercial airline seem roomy. Really they could do better. It's 2019
Saw Hamilton here. Great play. Nice theater. The only thing i have major feedback for is the bathroom. There's only 15 stalls for the women's bathroom. Long lines can make you miss parts of the second act.
I’ve seen some truly amazing touring productions over the years at this magmatic gem of a venue.
Look forward to when the world reopens and the joy of theatre can once again be enjoyed in person shoulder to shoulder - overpriced drinks , cramped leg room, tight seats and all.
My mom took me to see Hamilton. It was awesome. The staff and the players were spectacular. And, as our Philadelphia Playhouses always do, they always support charity organizations. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
The seats are so incredibly uncomfortable. If you are taller, you will hate sitting through an entire show without being able to move your legs. It's almost worse than a modern airline.
The steepness of the stairs in the balcony gavehave me instant vertigo so again, if you're afraid of heights, buy a more expensive ticket and go below.
Wonderful venue to see Broadway and other shows!!
Beautiful theater. I sat in the front mezzanine and the seats are pretty tight if your a bigger person. If you are taller, expect to have you knees almost on top of the person sitting in front of you.
Beautiful theater! The staff was very friendly, it was clean and Beautiful!
There's just (like most theaters) only a few bathrooms. Intermission is a scramble to wait in line to use the bathroom.
The seats are incredibly tight hip to hip and there is practically no leg room. The theater looks nice, but some of the paint is peeling in lots of places. As far as the view is concerned, I don't think there is a bad seat in the house.
Theater looks to be in great shape, although the bathroom capacity is kinda low. I'm tall, so the balcony seats were lacking in proper leg room.
I saw Hamilton and it was spectacular. The Forrest is a beautiful old theatre so the seats are a little tight and there is not much leg room but you will still have a great theatre experience.
Went to see Hamilton and omg the sound quality was like totally amazing. The theater looked rad and honestly I was just stocked to be there. It was like one of the best like days in like my forever. Serious though definitely recommend seeing a play there.
Older theater so while most seats provide great view, mezzanine is short for knees.
My daughter and I went to see the Color Purple on the day that we were to see the play, we has a big Nor'easter that shut down everything. The Forest Theatre was nice enough to honor our tickets on the next day. I would highly recommended this theater, they take great care of they're customers.
To be fair to the forest theater it is a very old establishment. But what I do not like is the very tight and cramped seats and rose making it very difficult if you are sitting in the middle of a row you really are leaning back to allow another person to pass or if you are Close to the end of the row you are moving out to allow persons to enter into the center. But with that being said it is still a worthwhile venture to the sister Orrick landmark
Love this theater. There is not a single bad seat in the house.
Make sure you use the restroom before you get to the theater, only a few stalls for the women on the upper levels. There is a large restroom in the basement but there are alot of steps.
The main issue with this beautifully appointed theater, is the placement of the speakers. They completely obstruct the left and right side of the stage for the people that are sitting behind them. There is no reason that these speakers couldn't have been placed higher towards the ceiling to allow the audience to actually see the show that they came to see. Shame on them.
This place is beautiful from a historical and architectural perspective. The employees were nice and very helpful. And although we were in the rear mezzanine, the view of the stage was great. But I gave it 3 stars because of the seats, which were super uncomfortable. They were extremely small and the rows are way too close together. I'm only 5'5 and I had to keep alternating from sitting side ways and spread eagle to prevent my knees from hitting the person in the row in front of me in the head. This was not a good position to be in for 2 hrs. I wound up with bruises on my legs. So just be prepared if you are over 5'2 and larger than a middle school child, it will be tight.
The performers and the music were absolutely phenomenal. Fabulous!!!
Sorry I had to wait so long to see this play. Standing ovation to the cast.
The theater was very clean and everything was well organized.
The venue was well managed and the ushers made the theater goers night flawless. The play speaks for itself. The assistance to move the line at the rest room is a Tony award winning experience, as well
I went to see Hamilton after a month wait. Forrest is just the right size but much larger than what it appears to be. It was my second time there. The staff is always pleasant. It was an enjoyable experience.
Honestly a very cramped, tight theater. Concourses were difficult to navigate before the show and during intermission. Seats were very tightly packed with very little leg room in the balcony. Concessions were better than most theaters of this type. Users were a little pushy when it came to helping you find your seat or directing you anywhere in the building.
If you are a tall person or on the larger side, the seating in this theater will be a hassle for you. The chairs are very small and very close together. There are not enough women's restrooms. Otherwise this is a pretty theater.
Beautiful building although seats are very cramped. Could use an update for the bathrooms as there is only 3 stalls for the whole upper level. Sat in the mezzanine level and seats had a great view.
A gem of a theater that presents a diverse array of entertainment. Extremely friendly staff and super helpful ushers. Every time we go, we leave full of amazement at the pristine, ornate facility, the caliber of entertainment, and the helpfulness of the staff. Just go, you'll be glad you did.
Saw Hamilton there....absolitely Beautiful theater! Great acoustics!
Beautiful, ornate old theater. Best seats were in the upper mezzanine. Seeing was a bit tight though. But you could see great detail on stage from up top
The musical Hamilton was really great. However the theater needs to invest in elevators. The seats are too close. Seats uncomfortable for people with long legs.
We sat in the mezzanine, and the seats were small and tight. I was in pain during entire production of Hamilton, which cost $169. I thought the Walnut was tight, but these seats were worse. The decor is interesting.
Show was great, seats a little tight, the prices of beverages outrageous, $ 54.00 for 2 small glasses of wine a disgrace! The prices of tickets and parking is high enough without the insult of purchasing a libation!
Stunningly beautiful theatre in the heart of Philadelphia
Great Theatre for shows. I would have given the review 5 stars if the seats were not so small. If you are overweight, it will be a tight fit.
Enjoyed the show, CATS immensely. The structure is magnificent. The problem was one of crowd management.
My husband and I went into a restaurant across the street for a quick bite about an hour before the show. There were people already in line. Mind you, most folks already had tickets. When we looked at 7:00 the line was down the block to 11th. When we looked at 7:15 the line was backed down 11th. Rather than walk around the corner we waited until the end ok of the line was only half way down the block. That was 7:30, ostensibly when the show was supposed to start.
In chatting with a very kind usher, she opined that it could have been security holding up the line. As I thought about it, there was only one large door and two lines going in. The show started at 7:45.
I think the Forest could think their process through a bit better.
Beautiful old theater with the only negative being not much personal space per seat. The seats are really packed in there. And Hamilton as excellent!
The show was great, and the theatre is lovely. The woman's restroom for the mezzanine is a joke, three stalls. Unless you enjoy standing in line for a toilet, go before you enter the theatre.
Awesome venue. Seating is perfect. Ushers at the main doors need to chillax a bit o herding patrons. Great experience for a child's first time.
Great place for a show. Good sight lines in most of the theater. Sound quality varies by performance. I have knee space in the seats, which I enjoy.
Well, Hamilton was amazing of course, but I also loved the ease of getting into the venue, picking up my tickets at the box office, purchasing snacks and getting to my seat. Very friendly and helpful staff!
Took our daughter to see Hamilton for her 14th birthday. Show was amazing. Seating is a bit cramped, but that is to be expected from an old theater.
Beautiful theatre with so much history. Also great staff that were very helpful in getting us all through the long Hamilton entry and women's bathroom lines!
Went to see Hamilton. It was wonderful. Seats comfortable, but tight. System to get you through the ladies bathroom during intermission was done with military precision.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 …
Amazing history in this theater! The only bad thing, it's so old that there's no elevators. Didn't help my mother in law with her bad back. But, we all still enjoyed the show!
Went to see Hamilton one of the best shows I've ever seen great acoustics fantastic lighting easy to manage your way through the auditorium.
I've been to the Forrest a number of time. Last time I went to see Waitress with my 13 yr old. Show was awesome. People who work there are very friendly and helpful.
There was an overflowing toilet in the basement ladies' room. Clear water was flowing and then 3" brown roaches started coming up from the drain!!!! Someone informed maintenance and they were on it but the vision was in my head. Gross!!
Went to see Hamilton. It was a great show and the seating was also great. The seats were comfortable and no matter were you sat at the view was great. Recommend seeing Hamilton.
Seats have a great view, even high up. Staff was friendly and very well organized. Only downside is bathrooms are in the basement and there isn't an elevator.
Intimate theatre in center city Philly. Good acoustics and comfortable, but tight seating throughout. An enjoyable place to watch a show.
Nice venue seats are verrrrrry tight. Upper level bathrooms generate long waits. If you go to an event at this theater I recommend an end aeat.
Beautiful theater. Seats are tight but view and sound is excellent even on sides. Can be hot, though.
Seating makes you feel crowded. There is no room to move around. The ladies restroom on the 2nd floor had only 3 stalls I missed part of the second act waiting to use the restroom. If I walked to another ladies restroom on another level I would not have made it.
Hamilton is a must see. His story is timeless, ambition, envy, adventure, sex, love, suspense, war, family, politics, finance, success, untimely death. All put to music, outstanding dancers and soulful rap.
A WOW! ! !
Yes it's an old theater but this place runs like a top. And it is well taken care of. You might be a little squeezes in up top but a great venue to experience theater in.
Hamilton was fabulous! The Forrest Theater seats are a little tight for long legged, tall folks so the intermission is essential.
Only reason to make this 3 instead of 4 is the depth of the rows of seats. Sat in mezzanine center low and knee were right in the back of the seat in front of me. I'm 5 11 and it was a bit tight. Loved the show tho.
Nice sized theater. Great view from each seat.
Seats are nice sizes, but space between seats is very small.
Excellent theater! Even tho our seats were not the greatest, I had a perfect view of The Book of Mormon! Only thing was the bathrooms were horribly outdated & tiny. That & no security....
I took my sister with me to see Hamilton, it was truly an awesome experience! From our entry into the theater to our exit we had a great time!
Saw Hamilton, it was FANTASTIC. the Forrest Theatre is beautiful.
Tight seats. Crowded restrooms. But hey, it’s the theater and a classic one at that.
Seats were manageable for theater seats. Sound is good and the temperature was perfect. The staff were accomodating and professional.
Staff at the theater managed the flow of people attending well. Despite minimal leg room, I enjoyed this magnificent performance of Hamilton.
Great show ... Hamilton ! Seating cramped .prepare to go through security checkpoint . Traffic upon leaving horrible. Park on 10 between Chestnut and Sansom on the left . Eat at Bareburgers across the street from the Forrest .
This theater has been lovingly kept/ restored to what I remember from the 70s and 80s. It was appreciated by a sellout crowd tonight for Hamilton!
The show - HAMILTON - was terrific, but the seats, for anyone over 5'5" - are just abominably tight, with zero leg room. Get an aisle seat if available
Great place to see a show. Balcony seats are tight for big and tall people. Very efficient staff. Line was long but moved quickly.
This is our first visit to the Forrest Theater. The theater is very beautiful, seats are comfortable and with enough slope to get a great view from any seat
Great venue with good views from any seat. Only negative is that there is barely any leg room at the seats, which can be distracting for us taller people.
Beautiful theatre and great options for parking around the area too. My only discomfort was the packed lobby once you got inside and attempted to get to your seat.
Seats are old school small. Not a lot of leg room either. Larger people beware. Facilities and show was still amazing otherwise.
Looks nice, and fine theater, but was sitting near the back during the charity event "Shut Up and Dance," and someone working in the back row was snapping pictures every few seconds. It was extremely disturbing.
Great intimate theater with history. Seats are small my knees were hurting and I was unable to stretch them out without standing up but that was just me ...
Loved it. Went to hamilton there 2 weeks ago. It looks small from the front but super big inside. I sat in the last row and still had an amazing experience!
What a fabulous place. View is good from all over the place and the sound system/acoustics are fantastic. Of course, we were seeing Hamilton, so that helps. 😄 …
Beautiful, opulent, a step back in time; this theatre is a tribute to the beauty of the past. Staff is very friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge about the theatre and plays.
Fabulous venue and performance of Hamilton!
Saw Hamilton. Had nose bleed seats but could still see everything well. The steps in the actual theater were steep so if not used to wearing heels hard to climb. I just took my shoes off.
Nice place to see a show. Hamilton was wonderful! The leg room is non-exsistant which sucks but its an old building.
I like the theater. The show was amazing. The bathrooms were clean. The concessions were expensive. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Great show! Bathroom (men's) was basically like going to Vet Stadium. Super long lines and not enough places to go.
The musical was awesome.....the drinks were $30 00 EACH!!!!!!of which you did not know until they gave you a $90.00 bill for 3 drinks!!!! Did not cost that much in New York!!!!
Was seated at the top of the rear mezzanine, but it doesn't seem like there are any bad seats in this theater.
Love this beautiful theater. Seats are horribly tight, but it's such a great view from every seat.
Beautiful theater and the performance of Hamilton was awesome. Plenty of good pre or post dinner spots nearby.
Loved dear Evan hansen, love the theater.
Directed to the wrong seats then when we went up to the mezzanine waiting to be directed to our seats she passed right by us lights went out no directions at all we weren’t late. Because of an injury I needed help no help at all just passed me right by Your personal need more instructions and more awareness😔 …
I went for Hamilton. The show was great. The seats were not. Recommend adapting to the 21st Century.
It was amazing CATS ,an exceptional performance.
HAMILTON IS SPECTACULAR! DON'T MISS IT! Unfortunately, the Forrest Theater is not accessible to the disabled 😏 at all. There are stairs everywhere! 😨 …
The theater is nice. I think it was built when people were way shorter. The knees suffered. But I saw HAMILTON!!!!...so it's all good.
Beautiful theater. Hamilton was superb. Drinks too expensive. Need more women's bathrooms!
Beautiful theatre. Saw Hamilton here. Fantastic performance and a wonderful cast.
Highly Recommended!
Went to see Hamilton, absolutely amazing show. The theater was well maintained, Clean, pleasant, and entertaining.
Gorgeous theatre. The acoustics were perfect. I dont think there was a bad seat in the house.
Beautiful theater! Good acoustics. Nicely furnished rug & seats. Clean restrooms.
Tight seats. Row T is too low to see the stage well but high priced. Women's bathroom is far far away from main floor.
Beautiful building, great staff. Accustics were excellent. See Hamilton. P erall my experience was eonfergil.Only complaint is restroom location not clearly marked.
Saw Hamilton it sounded wonderful, sat orchestra right, but some of the stage was blocked from view. Still had a good time
For the love of all that’s holy, Please , Please take the Fulton Opera House in Lancaster Pennsylvania’s lead and fix the women’s bathroom issue. In the era of me too and women’s equality why are we still waiting in line for 20 minutes or more to use the bathroom?
Beautiful theatre. Comfortable seats. Efficiently run. Hamilton was fabulous!
Saw Hamilton...usher's were awesome, could use unisex bathrooms so women don't have to rush
Seats are narrow and cramped but the theater is beautiful. Hamilton was fabulous.
Forrest theater is a great venue, and we really enjoyed the show "cats" especially the cast interaction with the audience.
It's an absolutely beautiful theater! The play "Hamilton" was fabulous!!!. Extremely convenient to get to.
Seats are small and there is limited room between rows. Concessions are extremely overpriced and not worth the money. A sprite, jack & coke, & a box of sour patch kids cost $44!
Sat in the lower mezzanine which is steep, so no matter what row you're in, the view is unobstructed. Seating is very tight, and I'm a small person. But when you're there to see Hamilton, who cares?
Beautiful place. Ladies should use bathroom on bottom floor. Overpriced concessions but sound and sight levels were fantastic
Great views all over the venue, no obstructions in the way. Very nice acoustics as well.
Had great seats. Saw a fantastic show. Seats are vert tight, only problem.
Great old theatre. I saw Hamilton there on Sunday night. Great place and even better production.
Beautiful theater! It's small enough that anywhere in the theater is a great seat!!
Great theater, the line to the ladies room during intermission was crazy yet not chaotic thanks to the staff.
It's really nice in there the sound is great the only bad thing is the sitting if someone is sitting in front of you they head is blocking your view the whole show .
Beautiful theater! Came here to watch Hamilton and was impressed with how nice the interior is.
Very friendly staff helped my daughter navigate all those steps on crutches! Beautiful historic theater.
Nice theatre. The seats are a bit narrow. Try to use a restroom prior to entering the theatre.
Nice theater, first time back in over 30 years. Enjoyed a production of Hamilton.
Beautiful theater, great acoustics. Lack of bathroom facilities for a full house, and refreshments are CrAZy expensive.
It's a beautiful classic old theater but the seats are extremely cramped. Everyone is packed in like sardines.
Beautiful theater with a professional and inclusive staff. I have never had anything less than a stellar experience here.
Great old theatre, very nice and historic. Cramped seating but quaint.
The show was wonderful, but the facilities are terrible. The seats are way too small and the bathrooms are not adequate.
I saw book of mormon here, good show but the the seats were really tight in the mezzanine.
Great Theatre to see national tours. Beautiful inside. Hamilton was awesome
For a large theater, the orchestra seats are surprisingly intimate. Drinks are insanely expensive ($5 bottles of water)
The show was awful but Facilities are quaint and staff is courteous.
Nice older theatre but it does not have enough women's toilets.
Wonderful view no matter where you sit. Problem is that I noticed a lot of people didn't look comfortable in their seats.
great view from any seat, but seating is no good for the tall or people with arthritis in hips or knees...to tight
Went to my first musical- the sponge-bob. It was so so good. Highly recommend, the performance was just outstanding

Beautiful theater. Comfortable seats with adequate leg room.
Saw the play, Hamilton. It was terrific! Seating is good. Bathrooms are not.
Amazing play, great staff and the ushers who move hundreds of people through the bathrooms in twenty minutes are miracle workers.

Excellent venue for a show! Sound quality is excellent and it is a very neat old building.
Fabulous, beautiful, but know it is not disability accessible. The stairs are very hard to climb.
The seats were a little tight, but no matter where you sit, you have a clear view of the stage.
Hamilton was amazing! Great view, even from the upper mezzanine.
Beautiful theatre, freshly renovated. The seats are pretty crappy, though.
Lovely venue, not a bad seat in the house and the staff are so efficient and friendly.

Beautiful venue. Seating was a bit steep, but overall good experience.
Saw Hamilton last night was very unhappy with poor sound quality for the first 3 or 4 numbers till they adjusted the sound I would have thought they worked out the bugs by now very unprofessional
Most seats have a good view. Building has character.
Nice theater limited restrooms. Dont try to use the ladies room at intermission
Great shows! Nice venue. Overly priced snacks.
Just went to buy ticket to see Hamilton. Just when it was our turn to buy a ticket, they switched the salesperson at the counter. Not too pleased with the change in shift. So be it.
