Reviews of Luna Stage
Joshua Bernstein
This is a great venue for black box and children's theater. My kids loved the play 'Luna' which was performed by a workshop cast of students. Their regular season puts Luna Stage in league with State Theater New Brunswick and McCarter for excellence in regional theater. Being less than an hour to Manhattan and Broadway, the bar is set exceptionally high for New Jersey regional work. Luan Stage produces and presents excellent work for those of us who are spoiled by the choices avalible from living in one of the great theater capitals of the world.

This place is a great venue. We saw the Mark Murphy Music School recital and the staff was great, the room where the performances were held was fantastic, and I'm sure other shows here are really good as well. Parking is easy and there's a nice Lounge to wait in. I would definitely go back to see a show here. I'm happy this area is flourishing with the Arts. There are also a few food options nearby.

The artistry and mission of this local theatre is worth a subscription. Luna is a great starter theatre for folks who want an intimate, engaging experience. Their education program is top-notch for children and adults, but won't break the bank.

We love this intimate professional theater that specializes in thought-provoking plays, often by new and emerging playwrights. Allow enough time beforehand to explore the "context room" for background on the play and the issues. Usually there will be an excellent pre-play discussion there beginning 45 minutes before the performance as well.

Always a great night at the theatre. Razorhurst was fun & enlightening. Colorful historic characters brought to life by 2 wonderful actors. The set was well done, making the action interactive & engaging.

Excellent theatre! Highest quality scripts, performances and design. Always thought- provoking. Their latest production Heartland left me in tears.... I can't recommend this theatre highly enough!

Nice way to see a show. Small theater. Nice staff.

Just saw "The Man in Room 306" by Craig Alan Edwards. It was just amazing. I love Jamil A.C. Mangan acting. It was like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was really there. So much emotion, laughter, and joy came from this play.

You can not take photos in the theater but it doesn't matter since ever show has a different configuration. Yesterday (April 29, 2018) we saw them Man in Room 306. The theater was set up as a typical theater with the stage in front and all the audience facing the stage. This was first. Mostly the seats are either in an L or a U or some time it is in the round.
The Man in Room 306 plays (like all main stage productions Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3 p,) till May 13 was excellent.
Here's a hint if you come from south-ish: take Wyoming, which turns into Gregory and then make right at Wellington Ave or Michell Street rather than drive north on Scotland/Valley whichGoogle maps may recommend.

Socially relevant local theater. You never know what you will find in this small, community oriented, surprising space. Often presents outstanding new theater pieces.

Great variety. Just finished the solo performances. Looking forward to Razorhearst - crime Queenpins of Australia.

Shows here are highly experimental so it's hit or miss but acting is usually reliably good.
