Reviews of Le Petit Theatre
Really great theatre with really great productions. I saw A Christmas Carol here and I was hooked from start to finish. It was truly a high quality production. It was exciting to see this caliber of production at a really affordable price. I look forward to returning and seeing what other shows they produce.
We decided spur of the moment to go see A Christmas Carol. The actors were fantastic and the special effects were so cool. The technology was cutting edge and added greatly to the performance. The acting was superb from the townsfolk, the kids, and the spirits. This activity added a special touch to our visit this time!
Saw "A gentleman's guide to love & murder". It was a totally awesome play. We dont really go to the theater that much and we really didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the acting, singing and storytelling. The theater was small and everyone had a great time. I will definatly go there again the next time that I am in town. There is only so many times that you can hit bourbon street. And this theater was great distraction. Thank you new Orleans.
Outstanding gem of a theatre in the heart of the French Quarter. Parking is never easy but the shows make it totally worth the effort. I love the building and the quality of theatre is equal to the Guthrie or Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Its my favorite theatre in town!
The Janis Joplin musical was outstanding. Not only a very energetic and stellar portrayal of Joplin but also an amazing inclusion of black female blues giants from the past. Absolutely superb!!!!
Great Theatre in the Heart of the French Quarters. Every seat ,there's a good view of the stage.Drinks available at the restaurant in the same facility,.(expensive), but it's there if you need a drink of any kind.
A night with Janis Joplin eas fantastic. Highly recommend. This is the second time I've seen a play at le petit. Small venue both performances were wonderful definitely a hit
in new Orleans.
We saw The Christmas Carole at this petite theater and LOVED it!! The theater is so clean and pretty and everyone behaves themselves unlike the many theaters I visited in NYC. The production was fantastic, the acoustics are great (I am sorta deaf so that is a plus for me) and the lighting was stunning! We can't wait to go back to see the Janis Joplin musical in the summer. I would say if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, maybe not get a seat by the alley b/c it reeks of it there. I think people smoke in the alley next to the theater.
A wonderful old theatre made even better by the excellent staff. Consummate professionals to a one, special thanks must be directed at Ashley, the General Manager. She ensured that our visit was as smooth as possible, and was very pleasant in person. We will come again next time we are in town. Overall, I would recommend visiting this theatre and catching a show. Experience the culture!
Great venue with comfortable seats and good sound/lights. Just saw the production of Marque and it was amazing, good choreography and incredible acrobatics. Singing, dancing with live piano. If you ever see the names Lady beast or Vinsantos (wrong spelling?), Take the time and spend the money
We went the most fabulous Christmas Carol Scrooge play last night... Fantastic production acting sets and special affects. Except for being a smaller stage and cast than a big stage production it was superbly well done!!!!
If you read this 12.21.19 there are tickets, we were told for this weekend available!!
The bar next door Pavalon is connected to the theater lobby but go early if you want bar service there, for a Friday before Christmas they were horrible understaffed for pre and intermission bar service.
We were visiting from Chicago and made a last minute call to go see "Something Rotten!" Here. No bad seats in the house, very cute theater and the show was phenomenal. We had a great time!
The Crown 👑 was entertaining. I enjoyed the show. Audience participation was great, Love the play. Hospitality was on point. I new where to get beverages, restroom and food. Well lit area very comfortable, air conditioning. I could see the play from where ever I sat. I will visit again and again. Thanks for the invite 👍 👆 😍. …
Had a girlfriend day out had a great time.
One of the best plays I seen in a long time.
Every seat is a great seat. Great views and sound. Already started looking at their schedule for the next play we'll attend. Pro tip, there is a bar next door before performances and drinks are allowed in the theater.
Brought my students to see a show here. Noises Off! Very professional production (Except one actor that didn't censor the swear words when we were told he would) While cursing doesn't bother me it was jarring when I hadn't prepared my students or the parent chaperones.
Fun Show nonetheless. We will hope to return next year.
Not a bad seat in the house...intimate setting
This theater really is a wonder. The tickets are affordable, and no matter where you sit the view is excellent. Truffle popcorn is served in the lobby, and if you need a little dinner before the show, Tableau is right nextdoor.
Very, very, nice theater. An intimate venue, for sure. Started going to plays there in the early 1980's at the childrens stage, which I hope is still in operation for this generation.
I also went to many plays in the main theater, as a young adult.
I miss NOLA so much!
I've seen two amazing shows here, Louis Armstrong at the Waldorf and A Christmas Carol, and will continue to go to plays here. Maybe 200 seats and a balcony section. Expensive but good bar attached to the theater. Right in the French Quarter.
Very quaint beautiful little theater! Babydoll the play was awesome! The acting was top notch! Janet Shea is always one of my favorite actresses!
Beautiful little theater tucked away in the heart of the French Quarter, just steps away from St Louis Cathedral. All the New Orleans charm! Fantastic show, beautiful venue.
Very cool little theater, I'm sure your impression will vary depending on what you see there. My only request would be to allow seating far earlier than just 15 minutes before show time, the lobby is too small to hold everyone otherwise.
Le Petit is culturally and architecturally significant. My husband and I attended a performance of A Christmas Carol. It was so delightful and entertaining! Something for all ages!
Really a great show. Very professional cast and lighting and sound OMG good. I can't wait to go back. I hope to make this a holiday tradition.
I remember this lovely little theatre from 1998 when my wife and I visited to see A Streetcar Named Desire! Magic. Just around the corner from where it was written! Unforgettable experience!
What a beautiful, cool ,little (petit) gem. In the middle of the French quarter. The last row is closer than you could get in most any theater. If your lucky enough to get chance to go , do it
Intimate theatre in French Quarter close to Jackson Square. All seats are good and theatre lobby is connected to courtyard of Tableau Restaurant.
Love and have always loved this place. Le Tableau next door makes combining a meal with a play so easy and delighful, also delicious!
Great local plays sometimes being based on French Quarter lore.
Last nights performance “CROWNS” was top notch!
We haven’t seen that much talent on one stage in a very long time! 👏👏👏 …
Fantastic old New Orleans playhouse. If you decide to have dinner at Tableau before the play be sure to make reservations.
Awsome theatre! Lots of history
Great plays, great actors. Not a bad seat in the house.
The show "A Christmas Carol" was excellent. Cast were outstanding. Highly recommend.
I caught an afternoon happy hour on the second floor balcony, which overlooks the adjacent park. Great atmosphere and the cocktails are really good.
A quite small theatre. Great acting. The only minus is the seats: the rows aren't spaced with taller people in mind.
I was there for the Groove Gala. Lots of God (Good) things and lots of not so God (Good) things... The food was okay the friendly and courteous staff made the night so much better...
Loved the performance of Streetcar Named Desire after brunch and mass earlier at the Cathedral!! Great day
Love the intimacy of this wonderful, historical theatre. You forget there are others watching with you & lose yourself in the action on stage.
LOVE this quaint and historic theater. All productions I've seen have been amazing.
Great musical, but no knee room between my seat and the one in front.
A small theater with great productions. The plays are thoughtful and fun. There isn't a bad seat in the place.

The oldest community theater in the country. It's a small not a bad seat in the house place with good accoustics.
Not a bad seat in the house, in my opinion. Wonderful theater to see a show.
The theater is small but amazing I love the theater but the seating is too cramped

Fantastic place
If all of the productions are of the quality of the the musical "The Color Purple" that we saw, then I would say that you must check this gem out. The talent on the company didn't have to take a back seat to other productions that we have seen on Broadway. The bonus is that I don't imagine that there would be a bad seat in the house as I am estimating that the theater has a capacity of around 400. There are many choices of entertainment in NOLA but this one should not be overlooked.
My mother & I saw The Color Purple at this theater last week. We would definitely return for a performance. Clean facilities and friendly staff!!!!
