My wife and I attended a recent performance of Dead Man's Cell Phone. It was a great show and we really enjoyed the production. It's a small theater but that adds to the charm.
Kudos to whoever makes the popcorn. It smelled great and was exactly what I wanted even though I didn't know that before I opened the door.

You want a fun evening, at a price that gives value received, in an intimate setting where all the seats are good, the people are friendly, and the cast loves what they do? You found it.

The building doesn’t seem to have changed since my daughter performed in our first play here around 25 years ago. The troupe is friendly and a great neighborhood treasure. The building could use some TLC.

Lakewood Theatre Company is an excellent venue featuring community theater.

The Lion the witch and the wardrobe was awesome.!!! Small theater made for being completely immersed in the play. And the actors interacting with the crowd made it even more enjoyable. Cannot wait to go back and see another play.

This was our first time to go to the Lakewood theater and it was a great experience! "Their Shining Lives" was a true story based on the Radium Dial Company in Chicago. The lawsuit that came from it established laws in the work place. The acting was great with each of the six actors playing multiple parts. Loved the quaint, cozy theater and being able to be up close and personal. There are plays most every month. We love to support community theater.

It is quaint, local talent and one feels right in the story! Chairs could be a bit more comfy, yet all in all, a very hometown feel that leaves you feeling entertained and nostalgic for the love of great stories/theatre in a bi-gone era that still exists, if your lucky enough to go!

Sunday's afternoon performance of "The Lion in Winter" was a wonderful and exciting experience. At the beginning, the director (Eric Link) explained that he had chosen to emphasize the costumes and acting rather than the set; this was a very wise choice and at no time did the viewers fail to believe the black set to be a castle. The costumes were beautiful designed by Elizabeth Hayes.
David Winton is an excellent actor and certainly understood the game being played in this battle of the wits. He is overpowering and, at times, the audience would be tempted to watch him 'act'. This lessened the power of Eleanor (Deanna Glasser) who equals the king in power and wit. Glasser does a super job of realizing the emotion which Eleanor must have felt in this entanglement.
The sons (Micah Buckley, Logan Dowlen and Evan Grabenstein) were delightful to watch because each was so aware of his position in the power play. Alais (Jolinda Beck) was equally effective in understanding her place in the 'family'. Tristan Whitney, as King Phillip II of France, had the qualities for a prince but at times he needs to be more sure of himself to be a King. After all, he's not afraid of Henry or anyone else.
An overall enjoyable afternoon in the theater.
