There were several theaters but the one we were in was small. Maybe 200 capacity or less. Restrooms were super clean. Staff was very courteous.

We do the youth theatre season every year for the last 4 years. Always fun and our children are growing up watching their favorite books in theatre format. Always recommend!

Enjoyed the performance of Raquel Cepeda and her band. She always puts her entire heart and soul into the performance. I think our 5th time seeing her. Venue at the MATCH is intimate. No bad seats and ample parking in the garage.

Different theater sizes to suit various size audiences from 20 to 500+ guests. I attended an event in the 500 seat theater and every seat from first row to top row gave a great view of the stage. There is very limited street parking but a parking garage is across the street as well as several nice bars within walking distance to enjoy before or after the show.

I’ve been to several shows and events at MATCH. The theaters are nice, with good acoustics and comfortable seating. There’s event space for art shows or receptions. There’s a paid parking lot just South of MATCH and I’ve always been able to find parking.

Took my Girl Scout Troop to see Mr. Popper’s Penguins. Excellent play, great singers, entertaining, and we had so much fun. My troop was able to go backstage and meet the wonderful actors.

A fantastic performance arts space! I have watched shows and performed in shows here. So many wonderful performances grace the stages in the 4 different Boxes MATCH has to offer. Box 1 is the smaller of the 4 and they gradually increase in size. Box 4 seats about 320. The calendar is always changing. A great place for a date night!

Had a great time. We watched the Acrocats show...it was cute, funny, and ridiculous in a good way! We had never been to this facility; it was clean, well maintained and comfortable. They had a couple of security guards walking around, and parking was just around the corner so no issues there.

A great venue for theatre and classical music. Parking garage across the street. (I've since been a part of a production in this venue, and can say it is a supportive, professional, and well prepared facility for the performing arts. Houston has a real gem.)

This is a great performance space. It's bigger than some other Black Box theater spaces. The bathrooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and (at least in my case) the show was great!

This last Sunday I happened by the Match theater in Midtown. I was told that it's only been there about a year or so. It is the first competition so very close to The Ensemble Theater in Midtown. On this Sunday they were offering a children's play and so I did not go in. They have a website which I will be checking out soon. There is a small business which offers snacks and refreshments - wine, soft drinks, hot dogs, chips, for a very reasonable price. The open area was very nice with security and tables. Very sociable and family-friendly. I said every table and crocheted while and people came over and talked. Very nice. Overall I think it's a very good addition to this part of town and I will go back soon.

Great place for local shows. There are four theatres that rotate performances. The theatres are mid size probably 200 seats each with a nice stage. Was there to see a high school group that did great. Tickets are $20 so come prepared. There is also a cafe. Parking g is nearby in several parking garages.

A very good place. It would get 5 stars but ... This place looks new. In my opinion the layout is good. A parking garage across the street makes parking easy (except when it rains). People were friendly and helpful. Since this is not a very large facility traffic leaving was not that bad. However, a long line at concession window wasn't good. A good selection of items at the concession. Also, the 'lobby' is covered but outside. There is a limited amount of indoor space behind the theatre but it is questionable if is large enough to comfortably handle a full theatre. When I went the weather was great. Although temporary space heaters were in place, intermission might not be too comfortable if it is really cold or hot. We had thought about eating dinner nearby and walking to the theatre. My recommendation is don't plan on it. MATCH is now on my 'go to' places.

Took my kids to their very first play here, and the cast did an awesome job. The staff are very nice and helpful, and the cast even did a meet and greet for the children after the show. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the snack bar is drastically overpriced so be prepared. However, I'd still take my kids again to see any of their productions geared towards children.

They open the doors half an hour before the start of the show, so if you need to sit, there are few options. Thankfully, a chair was found for me. Their auditorium is very nice, and all seats are good. Sound level and lighting were very good. Parking is in the garage across the street for a fee, or free on the street.

Great! Love! We see a play here annually. Always a great production. The cast kindly signs autographs at the end and takes pictures. The concession stand could offer a few more options, but you can also bring your own snacks during intermission. Parking across the street is convenient.

Match is a very nice multi theater complex for multiple size small performances. From a small intimate room for about 30 people all the way up to a 350 person capacity theater. The facility is well equipped with modern sounds systems, projectors, and lightning. Ample space for dressing rooms, prop storage and wardrobe storage. The staff are very nice and do a great job of hosting events.

A great performance venue in midtown with multiple theaters of various sizes. Not a lot of legroom, but otherwise comfortable seating and good acoustics. Convenient parking garage across the street. Will start checking performance schedules so I may start attending more events at this multi-purpose venue.

Ballet show was fantastic. Love how close you are to the performance. Tickets were only 15$ which is a great value. Sit anywhere and everyone is a good seat. Great location right on main Street next to restaurants and bars. Will be back!

The only thing is you have to go outside of the actual theatre to use the restroom. Heaters were located throughout the outside, but I thought that was odd... Clean place. Simple.

No free parking unless you can find free street parking on the weekends. We had to park next door at the garage which cost us about $10. Nice clean bathrooms with plenty of stalls. Wish there was a bit more space for early comers to wait outside doors . Theater is nice and cozy. Concession stand would be nice.

Love coming here to watch Catastrophic Theatre performances! It's new, it's clean, everything is wheelchair accessible. There's food and snacks available for purchase, and they serve alcohol. It's right off the rail line, but there's plenty of paid parking in the garage across the street. It's a great home for the smaller art exhibits and performances.

Uhhhh wow... I had no idea that MATCH even existed until my company sponsored an event that took place there. It's gorgeous. It makes incredible use of its compact space, feeling expansive and campus/mall-like in the interior. The black box theatre I was in (4) was an awesome, intimate space, and the acoustics were terrific (the show was spoken word, so not the most challenging test, but they still passed with flying colors). The performers came outside the theater to the mall and met the audience after the performance, and the space was perfect for that, too. I am now looking for excuses to go see shows there, just because the venue is terrific. Definitely check it out if you come up with a reason to!

They have great plays, friendly staff and my kids love it. Every once and a while they will have a free day which is very nice. My only complaint is that the snack bar is a little to pricey in my opinion.

Always a great experience at the MATCH! Parking is a challenge though especially if you have to be here everyday, but will endure the inconvenience to be able to work at this venue with other nonprofit art groups. Great collaborating and being surrounded by creative people makes me feel at home.

Cool space with great events and shows for kids. Food and drink (except water bottles) aren't allowed in the theater, but they offer snacks like cookies and chips outside during intermission.

Parking and traffic can be a hassle depending on time and day. Give yourself more time of the weekends for sure. There is a parking garage across the street but it will cost you extra. There is no FREE on site parking. Uber might be your best option! It’s a very big and modern facility. Majority of building is open air so be ready to wait outside in the elements for your performance. The inside of the Theatre is new and clean. Good seating. There are only one set of bathrooms for four different theater spaces. Also the bathrooms are outside.

Wonderful venue. Fine location, right on the red line metro, bars and restaurants nearby and the performance spaces are excellent. Outside each space is an electronic billboard showing what is happening when. Shaded areas with tables and chairs for get together, vendor there provides beverages and snacks. Nothing is forgotten.

Saw the screening of Is That You at the Latino Film Festival. Was a fantastic movie, but there were technical difficulties so we waited an extra thirty minutes before they let us know why and before we could go in. Also, the volume was at a painfully high level at the beginning of the movie, but it seemed the corrected that eventually. Overall, great experience. Next time just let the crowds know sooner what's happening. And maybe a soundcheck before starting.

A great venue that allow for several size audience, from small and intimate to a full size community art event. The concession stand is a nice new addition since my first visit shortly after it opened. The Match is near several local eateries, downtown, and the parking structure is just across the street. Unfortunately, there is no protected walkway in the event of bad weather.

My organisation hosted our event here. Our members loved the venue and it's right off the rail which is awesome. We had some AV issues early on but they were quickly resolved. There only real issue we had was with parking.

My daughter is attending theater camp here. She's 6. The staff is energetic and kind. Parking wasn't perfect, so they treated all the campers to Shrek the Musical one day. Great intro to scripts, stage, performance for girls AND boys.

It seems like in 2016, this is a new establishment. I came here (like first reviewer) for the Other Mozart play. PROS Location was easy to find on GPS (of course, in the art/theater district downtown) and that's always a negative if you're from Katy area but culture is a great thing to have in Houston! Parking not bad. We parked across from Match in a small underground garage and paid $5, literally crossing the street in 2 minutes. Ticketing was fine, printed out our tickets and were scanned at entrance. The stage and room is smaller (don't expect symphony style location as I did) more like 20x20 seats. Great that they have risers so we can all see. I noticed they had mini bars outside but we were too cold to wait and show was almost starting. Bathrooms on location, PLENTY of stalls for women, thanks. Great surround sound during play and lights were really, really well set up and in-sync with show. CONS Somewhat noisy flooring. During show, 2 people left and we could hear the shoes on floor and squeak of floor or risers ( it does distract from a play). Somewhat crowded seating (small chairs next to each other), better if you don't come bundled up. And I wish the A/C or fan was turned up more. Husband and I had someone behind us (or around us somewhere) who ate MASSIVE amounts of garlic and the hot breath was UNBEARABLE. It might sound like whining but if you are in pain to not smell someone's inconsiderate hygiene, it's better to have some more air circulation to waft that distraction. Definitely coming back though.

A multi-use space that regularly stages plays, musicals, live music, spoken poetry and nearly any artform you can imagine. Wonderful architecture, with a nice open air central walk way. Transit from the metro is super convenient, and paid parking garage available.

A quaint theater located downtown with an old-school charm. I attended "Two Mile Hollow". The play was wonderful as well as the actors. I would definitely recommend this as an evening out. I will also be returning.

This is a wonder addition to the Houston community. It makes it possible for smaller companies or performance groups to put on big shows, which enhances the Houston art scene. The facility is beautiful and easy to navigate. With the opening of the parking garage right next door, parking is now super convenient.

I saw my 1st play @ the Match Theatre since they opened in October 2015 in support of the director of Tamarie for President that was personification at it's best. I must return for a full facility tour since hearing about it a year in advance of construction at a townhall session. Wonderful concept, and I hope to be back. Parking was easy since I caught a spot right in front.

Always a very classy experience going to the MATCH. Great shows and pretty decent concession options. Also conveniently located in the midtown area between several bars and restaurants, makes parking a little tricky on the weekends.

Love the place. The box office people are always really nice and helpful. And the concessions are a little bit pricey but their always the sweetest. The stages though from what ive seen (matchbnox 1 and 3) are more like a blackbox type venue tho which could change your opinion but for me the intamcy helped the the plays i saw.

Very cool multi-theater location for a wonderful selection of local theatre groups, and local art installations. Seen multiple shows here. Full bar available onsite. Drinks can be taken into most shows. Located within two blocks of several bars and restaurants.

A good little theater troop. Took 2 bus loads of students tova play. Biggest problem was absolutely no parking anywhere close by. Ended up paring almost a mile away and walking back, then swerving around traffic to get back and pick up. The parking problem was the only thing holding back a higher score.

Just watched the Play named "A Few Good Men" in which was a very positive powerful play by DNP Productions...The Cast was Awesome...especially Jeffrey Harris Sr aka Terrance Robinson...Sound was Great..And wasn't a bad seat in the House...Really Enjoyed IT.

Intimate setting, all seats allow good viewing. Consessions are available outside:wine, sports, pizza,coffee, fried food baskets. Garage parking scrossxthe street is reasonable ($7-$8)

I was invite to the music performance here. The parking lot is on the other side but there is nothing to let us know where I should park my car. However, the staffs and securities here are very nice. It is just a small place with seperated zones but the desgin is great.

This is a newer theater complex hosting several shows at the same time. If you want to see local artists this is one of the better places to go. They do have a concession stand that servers finger foods and beer and wine.

MATCH is a great venue for arts and theater in central Houston. MATCH has a nice, small outdoor cafe (concession stand). It is nice to have a parking garage across the street, but exiting after a performance can be a lengthly process due to many patrons waiting to pay upon exit at the gate, rather than completing payment at the paystation in the garage.

They say Houston is a boomtown for businesses and artists alike but it's not accessible for all. This is not a very affordable place for an artist to rent and parking is an issue that MATCH could have addressed. You're forced to park in the garage and pay out your butt or park on the street and face your car being broken into. Also, people that write the word "clutch" on their reviews should not be allowed to write any reviews
