Reviews of Theatre in the Round Players Inc
Daniel Konold
My favorite theater in the Twin Cities area! Love the look and feel, love the history, and LOVE the dressings rooms. Please do yourselves a favor and see a show here this season.
Brandy Churchill
A nice change of pace from other theater venues. If you have mostly been to traditional theater layouts this might take some getting used to, but they do a nice job making use of the different layout. Ticket prices are reasonable. Concessions aren't fancy but make for a decent break at intermission. Parking can be a little challenging but as long as you leave yourself a bit of time it's not too bad.
Prerna
The stage is pretty close to the seats. So, the play feels very immersive. This is a unique and amazing experience.
Rebecca Schriner
A nice small theatre - celebrating its 70th anniversary in Minneapolis this year. There’s not a bad seat in the house, and I’m glad I went to see The Little Prince during closing weekend. The seats aren’t the most comfortable, but the acting was well done and I enjoyed the performance.
I’m grateful the theatre provided discounted fare for the parking structure about a block away - the Seven Corners Parking Ramp.

We love Theatre in the Round. They always put on great shows, and it's such a unique venue in the cities. They have a great online ticketing system, and a huge variety of shoes performing throughout the year. This is one of my favorite theaters in the cities. Good parking and food options nearby too, so you can make a whole night of it!
Lisa Borneman
Show was great!! Not surprised that it was sold out! Looking forward to seeing the next show!!
David Hellerman
Always solid theater. Book Club Play is great.
Ben Nguyen
I'm from New York City and I loved the theater in the round players. They were just wonderful and very in-your-face with their drama and the theater is just wonderful. I recommend it highly that you support your local arts and Artistry and your theater and the theater in the round players especially. All the best.

Great local theatre. Intimate stage with not a bad seat in the house. They offer a variety of types of plays each season, but have some consistencies from season to season. We have been attending the Jeeves and Agatha Christie adaptations consistently the past few years and have enjoyed them very much. Be sure to take time to admire the floor which is re-painted for every new production.
Adam Khan
Well-rehearsed, and very professional production. There was a range of actors that conveyed an excitement and delight

This theater is such a delightful consistent gem of quality entertainment in the twin cities! Inside it feels intimate like you are part of a group of old friends invited to an evening of fun. It's not stuffy so its a great place to try if you aren't sure you are a "theater person". The actors are such great talents and you can tell that everyone on and off stage believes in the power and magic of theater to bring people together. I recently was there after nearly 10 years and I'm getting a season package! Speaking of season passes I love how they do there's. You can do traditional where you select your dates and seats in advance or puchase a package of "coupons" at a significant discount to use as you please. That may be going with 5 friends to one show, giving 2 away as gifts or date nights with your someone special. I love this because I have to coordinate babysitting but knowing the show is paid for gives me incentive to schedule date night with my hubs. Check it out at $22 - $25 for regular prices you have nothing to lose and a great night to gain.

Beautiful theater. We've been to several Sunday Night Magic events there. I also saw the okay Radium Girls there. It's was a sad story but beautifully told. They used simple decor and props to create the atmosphere. I recommend this theater for a great date night. Close to several good restaurants
Allen Anderson
The show, Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, was great! Really liked the intimate setting of theater-in-the-round. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning and it got quite hot where we were sitting. You could see others across the theater fanning themselves as well. It would have been nice to have some cool air in the theater. They allow you to bring in bottled water. I would suggest that you do so. Other than that it was a fabulous venue.
Cait Lin
What a special theatre! There is truly no bad seat and each section offers a different and unique perspective. It was so neat to walk through the set to your seat. There is a real intimate feel to this theatre, everyone is welcoming and it was comfortable in the seats (no issue with A/C). The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance was really well done, such great characters and the plot moved along at a nice pace- one of my favorite plays I’ve ever seen.
Nancy
Great performances, intimate theatre and fun night out! Highly recommend Theatre In the Round!
Wess Kilker
Theater in the Round is an awesome and unique experience. I hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy a performance in this setting.
Kathy Chapin
The play was wonderful! The actors were great, very professional. The theater is small so every seat is great. I would definitely recommend going to see any of their plays. I can't wait to go back to see The man who shot Liberty Valance.
Peg
We have gone to this place for over 30 years, and we have been impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and performers. I love the fact that it's run by volunteers that are devoted top their craft!
The only thing that I would like to see are larger seats... they are not comfortable for larger/taller people. I had a shoulder surgery, and was quite uncomfortable as the arms of the chair were squishy.
Ryan Miller
Probably one of the best, if not the best theatre ticket you can find in Minneapolis. This theatre is not only historic with a great story (they will share with you at the start I you've never been) but also full of character and class! The actors were great and the intimacy of this theatre really takes the production to a different level. This was my first visit...and plan to see more of this place in the future! Bravo. Brava.
JC Nelson
I gave been going to this theater for 15 years and like the small cozy theatre with its ynique seating. Have enjoyed many local productions and would highly recommend.
Steven Butler
A fun little theatre group, went to see Zelda: Hero of the Fringe. Though overall I'd say it was over priced. The theatre is kind of falling apart. The show was only an hour long but fun. The leads were phenomenal but the supporting characters not as much. I'd probably frequent this place at $8 but not at $14 a ticket.
Sam H
I’d never been to a Round theater like this before with the attend stage. The ambiance is fantastic the production value is surprisingly high for such a small space and the staff seem super dedicated to the art. I’ve had very few better theatre experiences.
Candace Okeson
The play was great (Agatha Christie), actors were fantastic, fun, well worth the money, view was awesome. I wish the chairs were comfy, it was rough sitting there, always adjusting cause I couldn't get comfy, plus not much in leg room if you're in the 6 foot height range.
Jennifer B
What a fun venue. I was late to arrive and the ushers were gracious and brought me to special seating until intermission. The entire stage and every exit was used. The actors are very talented making use of one set for the performance.
Matthew Wagner
LOVE this theatre. The vibe is exceptional. You can feel the expectation in the air. There's an electricity in the air as soon as you walk in the main doors. Been there a couple times and it hasn't changed yet. Going again Jan. 6. I can hardly contain myself.
Patrick Hill
Great seating. Great actors. Theatre in the round was a new experience for me but afterwards I was quite impressed with how well the production was executed. For the price, I don't think it's possible to go wrong here.
Adam Schenck
Theatre in the Round offers a unique in-person entertainment experience. The two most recent shows I have seen there were both of a very high quality. The proscenium is "round" -- it goes around 360 degrees. The theater is accessible, and has good restaurant/bars nearby, and parking is not too difficult. Even the snack bar inside the theater is welcoming and the design of the theater house invites interaction.
Agnes Grace
I have always passed by this theater and never gone in. Today I went in. It is beautiful inside. The seats are around the stage. I was thinking that this could be an inconvenience especially when you are seeing people back it it turned out great. There was no time that I felt that I was watching the actors backs for too long. They were moving most of the time giving the audience a full view of the show. The show tonight was amazing. 'Murder in the Nile' was the name of the show by Agatha Christie.
Beth Berzelius
Actors seemed well rehearsed and spoke clearly. Concessions and ticket prices were reasonable, and beautiful art was for sale as well. We parked in the ramp at the U of M across the street. Very enjoyable experience for me and 5 other group members. Thanks!
Jessica Brouillette
Such a fun experience. Very interactive!
Alli Tripp
Wonderful theater, I saw their 545th performance which was Ionesco's Rhinoceros. I didn't know this is the oldest play house in the twin cities, I plan to return often as I love theatre in the round where the audience goes all the way around the stage.
Peng Vang
Love supporting local artists in the twin cities. Tickets are fairly priced, performances are spectacular, and I highly recommend you check out a live play if you've never been to one!!
Benjamin Porch
Came here to see a show in which a coworker was acting and had a wonderful time. Very unique experience compared to other theaters. The arena theater arrangement is feels very personal.
Katie Ward
A murder announced was a great play, the casting was awesome. Definitely will attend another in the future.
Al #
This is one of the coolest theatres in Minneapolis. Seating is around the stage which sits in the center. Acting and production values are typically very good for a relatively small, and ammeture theatre company. It's also one of the longest running theatre companies in the twin cities.
Pat Moses
Thanks for the great review, Allen! (and we're sorry you were here the one night the air conditioning was out.) Hope you catch the last few performances of JEEVES TAKES A BOW -- it's a hoot.
Richard Garver
Not really a theatre type myself but McWhirter was a lovin' character. All the actors were real good. Might make me want to investigate more Agatha Christie and visit more local theatre companies.
Sarah Martin
We have been season ticket holders at TRP for years and are rarely disappointed. Tonight's show, Jeeves Takes a Bow, was especially good. Check it out!
Greg Sheehan
I have been a season ticket holder for 20+ years. TRP is an outstanding venue for interpreting both the old favorites and new productions in the Twin Cities. I can't imagine following theater in Minnesota without including TRP!
RA - RefAssignor
A spectacular performance today of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Where None." Longest continually running theatre in the Twin Cities, it's currently in it's 66th season with 9 shows each season. If you've never attended, you're missing out as TITR rarely disappoints!
Brian Wene
This epic, twin cities theatre always has a great season utilizing mostly local companies & productions. Be sure to check out their latest season. Enjoy!
Snow Farmer
I go to a show here once a month. Incredibly fun atmosphere and high quality community actors. I really have enjoyed the 2018's season thus far. "And then there were none" was really fun.
Joyce Rasmussen
We left season Guthrie tickets for the 'fresh air' that Theatre in the Round offered us. Now in our second season as flex pass owners, we need to share our disappointment with WAIT UNTIL DARK. While leaving we overheard Dann explaining the plot sequence to 3 couples. We could easily have been the 4th couple with the confusion we felt at the final lights out. Could representatives from 'the masses' be a part of future play selections? Your repetitive selections from Agatha Christie, Jeeves and especially from Jeffrey Hatcher seem like formula choices. We're hoping for a much better final outcome with the second play-- and the season!?
Darren Johnston
Tickets are cheap, shows are good. Mostly plays, which is a welcome change from the nonstop musicals at other theaters. Easy to get tickets the same week as the show.
Roxanne Choulock
The plays are very entertaining. The actors do a great job of acting out their parts. It is fun to see how they will do the sets for the different shows....
Alex Knudtson
A wonderful venue that consistently has entertaining plays. The round shape of the venue allows actors and actresses to fully take advantage of the space.
Karen Ringsven
What a fun Theatre!! I can't believe I hadn't been to this gem. I saw the plays coming up over the next year - I'll definitely be back!!
JR Massey
Excellent food, tender lamb, and brave enough to add spices stronger than the average Minnesotan wants. The staff were extremely kind in their explanations and helpful in their service.
Mark Burman
Saw Deathtrap. Liked the intimate experience. Good performance at an affordable theater with some history. Brought my kids (13 & 15) and they both enjoyed it.
Stephen Pesavento
Oldest live theater in the Twin Cities. Intimate setting. Professional and semi- professional actors and actresses. Good performances at a very reasonable price.

Mickey Foley
Excellent production quality in all the shows I've seen, and they always offer good variety of plays to choose from each season.
Rohan D
Close intimate theatre with small stage area in the centre and seats all around it. Leg room is a little cramped in the first row due to a waist high wall.
Army Matt
Excellent venue! The way the audience is seated around the stage makes you feel like you are a part of the story.
Shannon Krohn
Awesome space and amazing shows. The seats are a bit small though. Also waiting to get inside you're standing for awhile.
Avery Calhoun
After moved to MN, this is the first place I went with my friends and family. We had a great time here. Very good performance and also they maintained this place really well!
Jacob Edholm
Works as a good fringe venue for small plays. The parking lot directly across Cedar Ave is $4 all night after 4PM.
Sarah Scott
Very educational intro to the world of props in theater. Staff was kind, and fellow participants helped us beginners discover a lot from their experiences!
Jody Rioux
Small intimate venue. You can see the performance up close, which is wonderful! The staff was great and the performance was top notch.
Gail Van Horn

The productions are simple to understand and fun to watch. A must see stop in Minneapolis.
