Reviews of Stages Theatre Company
Fabulous small complex in the downtown area of Hopkins. Great venue for small theater productions. My wife and I, and two of our grand daughters saw a great production of Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer there. I highly recommend this spot as a go to for anyone and everyone.
We saw Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and it was so good, both my four year old old and my 19 month old were able to sit through the whole show and wanted more at the end. It was done very similar to the old movie. It won't disappoint.
Very kid friendly and nice place. I reccomend you bring the whole family. Prices are reasonable. The place has a really cool art museum located with in. We really enjoyed out time before the play. The show was great.
Highly recommend.
Love this theater. Shows are always entertaining and well done. I have loved bringing my daughter and niece and nephew here over the years. The cost is a little high for a one hour show but the $10 ticket deals make it more affordable and if you are in a military family they have $2 tickets available. Easy parking across the street in a free parking ramp.
We've taken our young kids to several performances and each has been a positive experience for the full family. The shows have been well done and after each one there has been an opportunity to meet the entire cast which is always the highlight. There are no bad seats (We usually sit in the balcony) and the theater provides boosters to help kids keep their chairs folded down and to give them a little more height to see better.
I saw David Wilcox here. He's my favorite singer so it is hard to not have a good time! This venue requires you to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 3 days of the event. All went very smoothly and we had great seats. It was easy to find parking and seats were comfortable enough to sit for 2 hours. I would recommend.
Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer was great and I highly recommend for kids
Rudolph the Red-noised Reindeer was excellent. Thank you staff, performers and volunteers 🙋♀️ …
I have been in many shows at stages including (What do you do with an idea )and (buckets ) shows are always incredible!!!!
Great theater. Any seat is a great seat here.
We love stages theatre! We love being able to introduce our son to theatre at a young age and he really enjoys going to plays. We have been to more expensive shows at the Children's Theatre, and while there is a difference in the production value of shows between Stages and the Children's Theatre, the shows at Stages have been great and the price is much more affordable! My son loves to meet the actors at the end of each show and they are so kind to the kids. We'll definitely be back for more shows!
Cute play for the little ones. The Actor's and Actresses were great.
I have been to several plays at Stages and have never been disappointed. There isn't a bad seat in the house and the quality of the performances are always consistently well done. They are extremely accommodating and allow young children to be included in a lap seating arrangements as well as boosters for those who are old enough to be seated alone. Better yet the pricing is extremely affordable. I highly recommend making this a regular outing with the family.
So great! Fantastic live theatre for kids of all ages. The shows are the perfect length for even the wiggliest of all worms. Nobody bats an eye if you have a kiddo that makes noise (happy or upset). It's a true gem.
10/10 would recommend! Took a class of preschoolers to a play there this morning & LOVED it. Very interactive & engaging. Stages also has sensory free, Sign Language interpreted, & "Pay what you can" showings. So important! What a great place!
Stages Theatre is truly a gem! My dad used to take all the grandkids to shows when they were younger and it was the perfect way to get them all to fall in love with theater. Now my 4 kids have all been in productions at Stages and I cannot say enough about the positive experiences they have had. As an audience member, volunteer, and parent of kids in the show every experience I have had with Stages has been stellar!
This place is a gem! I took my daughter (5 years) to see Owl Moon. Yesterday, I took my daughter and son (2 years) to see Inch by Inch. IMPRESSIVE. I can’t compliment this theatre enough. Inch by Inch was geared towards 5 and under and it exceeded my expectations. Extremely interactive and personal. I can’t wait to take my children to more performances. Tickets are reasonable for the high quality performances, but there are also performances in which you pay what you can. They make effort to allow everyone the chance to access this amazing theatre and experience.
Love this small theatre! We have seem many plays here and they are well done. They've allowed a single mom be able to expose her kids to a wonderful art that we may not otherwise been able to afford due to their "open door" program.
I took my three year old to a birthday party. What a great place! The show was well done, my daughter LOVED it.
After the show, the birthday party was in one of the conference rooms upstairs. This was a great setting for a kids birthday.
Great theatre featuring great plays, and an excellent place to take your kids. While not as polished as the MN Children's Theatre, your kids will love it. Check their schedule, as there's always some recognizable characters on there.
Beautiful architecture, great plays and educational programs, and wonderful location in downtown Hopkins. They don’t disappoint in any areas! This is also a great place for field trips as well, with kid-friendly shows.
I saw a rendition of holes. I read the book as a child and the children actors they had did a good job. I like that your close in to what's happening and that's not too big that you're detached. This is a great concept it makes you feel involved. Rather than feeling like you're watching a performance you feel like you're part of the story. This is a positive thing for the community in this area. The best play I've ever seen by far though is The Wizard of Oz at Osceola High School. Remarkable.
We took our 7 and 4.5 year old to their first theater show. We saw Beauty and the Beast and it was great. Our kids loved it and want to be IN one of the plays next time ;)
Was here with my son on his field trip. It was clean and very well maintained. The sound quality and lighting's are awesome. The play was very well enacted and kids had a great time.
Attended a comedy show, nice size room, Good sound, very enjoyable
Took my nephew to see Bear Snores On, not Broadway, but to an antsy 5 year old it was a great way to introduce him to theatre and still very enjoyable as an adult. Definitely a must when introducing a child to theatre.
Seats are comfortable. Sight lines and acoustics are good.
The productions are always entertaining and well rehearsed. The lobby has things to look at related to the show. The entire experience is very kid friendly. Ample public parking nearby and a few restaurants.
We saw Rudolph and the show was great our 5 year old really liked it. It is hard to park and there were huge lines to get into the show so come early.
I saw a play with my kids over lunch. Very nice theater in DT Hopkins. Lots of free parking, easy access, comfortable theater. Nice production for kids.
Went to see Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer over the holidays and it was great! The costumes and production were really good for a small theater. Definitely worth the price of admission.
Stages may not have the best actors, but the director always finds a way to send a message to the audience. They always make you think after the show is over. What I like best is how much people they can include in one play for youth and how they all get pretty decent roles.
Went to go see me friend in the play What do you do with an Idea. Great place and amazing play.
Amazing theater with high quality performances! Best moments, great memories, lots of inspiration for kids and their parents.
The plays are wonderful here! I have not been disappointed at all and my kids love them too!
My family has always enjoyed the performances from the Stages Theatre. We look forward to going back when things open up.
Wonderful place to introduce kids to the theater! My daughter has taken some classes and loved seeing a show there
Wonderful productions for children of all ages! I'm 59 and this was my second play opening. My inner child loves it!
Sound system on the "square pumpkin" was poor. Sitting near the top I could not hear her. The play was well done with a subject matter well chosen.
These people put on some excellent, professional theater. If you're ever looking for something to do with the kids, this is a great option
Wonderful performance. Friedly staff. Easily parking. We really enjoyed the show tonight and can't wait to come back soon!
My daughter's and I adore this theater. Affordable and great for all ages.
Our family have had season tickets for the last three years. Excellent value for quality plays.
I took my 4 and 6 year old grandkids to Frederick. They loved it!!
Meaningful theater by outstanding actors! Enjoyable for everyone of all ages!
My daughter lives Beauty and the Beast. Especially when some of the actors sang and danced around in the aisles.
So great, affordable performances for children and families here. We love Stages!
Wonderful experience, clean and comfortable theater with excellent staff.
