Reviews of Phoenix Theater (A Project of Arts Nest)
This little theater is just what you would expect! A older theater! The parking is less than stellar to find but that is not the theaters fault! I loved that there was a mini beverage and snack bar and you could bring in whatever you purchased to eat during the show!
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the theater area was clean yet dark enough to watch the show at! I would definitely recommend to others and come back again for another show in the future!
I have come here for 4 of the evening (sexprov) shows, I love improv! Although the shows begin quite late, I find the staff and actors to be contemporary and witty! The venue is intimate but nothing spectacular....I dont come there for ambiance. It is a little uptown community theater with a surprisingly entertaining selection of live entertainment and a few nibbles. Nothing else to do? Great last minute unpretentious night out. Grab a beer and giggle.
Easy parking area.
Venue hosts alot of eclectic variety, wonderful beverage selection for the show. Great lounge and pre-show area.
Theatre itself is good small stage, very personal. Quality sound and lighting matching the performance level they host.
What an awesome way to spend a Friday night! The Black Out group was really able to get the audience excited. Everyone was on point down to the person working the lights, and, if you need a drink or snack while there, they offer inexpensive but good options.
Saw MMT's production of Night of the Living Dead! The Musical! It was fantastic!Kudos to the entire cast (6 extremely talented people playing around 20 characters) and crew. Looking forward to Daddy Long Legs and Lizzie!
Best show I've ever seen! I ended up going twice this weekend to the same show (Who Killed Ariel?: A Princess Murder Mystery) because it was just that hysterical! Thank you ladies plus one sexy gentleman for the laughs!
Cute little theatre unsuspectingly residing on a busy Hennepin Avenue. Was here tonight to see Misha's arrest video. First time in theatre. It felt small and old, limited refreshments. The place felt like it was put together last minute. Unrelated small art. Some beers available at overpriced rates. Meh.
Great space and people for a black box theater.
The Phoenix is an intimate theater with a great little rehearsal space in the basement. They host all sorts of interesting shows and auditions. Definitely a space to check out for the local theater scene.
Wonderful experience at the Die Laughing marathon. Great atmosphere, amazing performers, will attend more shows in the future.
Excellent community space with sufficient parking in the side streets makes this a plus for organizing events especially with excellent eateries nearby for multiple price budgets. Easy access to the highway and also bus lines.
I've seen shows and had outside classes held here. Theater is wide and shallow. Nice little area out front
Local non guild theater at it's most heartfelt. Bit insular to the neighborhood and popular culture. Nice snack area to hang before and after performances.
Been to a few shows here and absolutely love it! Everyone's very passionate about what they do and it's a splendid time!
I went to see a co-worker perform in The Director's Cut: 30 Rock, a parody of NBC's show mixed with improvisation. Hilarious, great show!
Only visited here for stage practice but their training rooms are great if you're looking for a studio space to practice in. Just make sure you book it ahead of time!
Went here to see "A Drinking Game MN" and it was amazing. It was perfectly priced, and the actors/actresses were hilarious! Will definitely be going back.
Caught an excellent show here, good concessions, no bad seat in the house, friendly staff and great productions!
I watched my nephew star as Benedick in Shakespeare " Much Ado About Nothing". The theatre space is cordial and intimate.
Awesome place to watch a local comedy show or theater production. Bar and snack area in the main entrance!
Nice space, good selection of refreshments and really enjoyed the show!
A friend rented the space for a live stream event. It was very reasonable, clean and overall a great experience!
Small, fun space. There are some support poles that will partially obstruct some views some of the time, but not a deal breaker in this space.
Needs better air circulation in the performing room, but otherwise it is a great venue.
Good beer selection. Fun event. Even at close to midnight as an end time.
Great small-ish black box theatre hosting some awesome community shows.
Great theatre. Has rehearsal rooms in the basement and supports a wide variety of works.
The play my family went to see was wonderful. And the atmosphere was that of the holidays.
Saw another uprising theatre show, nice intimate friendly space.
I always enjoy coming here! Cozy atmosphere, good theater and good beer.
Great place to see a show. It is also a good place to put on your show.
