Very clean parking available Depending on how much you paid for the ticket. Then you are able to sit on different floor. But every seat is a good view. Don't really like the extreme corners.

Good auditorium. Doors should be marked with seats numbers as it was confusing. Helpful staff. More law enforcement needed when the event ends at late night because plenty of strange folks are walking around on street. Not good for family to walk around or get to car.

Enjoyed the evening with the Kyiv City Ballet. I really like how they remodeled Northrop. The frustration was finding our seat. The tickets indicate door 1 and no one knew where it was located. If ushers aren't informed it would be helpful to have signage. Plan ahead if you're parking as it's gotten terrible.

Parking ramp was very easy to get to and clearly marked. The elevator in the ramp is so slow that several of us just took stairs. It was easy to get from ramp to the auditorium. The auditorium is spectacular. Very clean. Beautiful. It was a little confusing since it was my first time there.

We visited for a concert during Sunday. Restrooms were clean, But there should be place to eat. It was closed on Sundays. Such event times there should be some kind of place to eat

Went to the physics FORCE show I love it. It taught me new things. I would mention it but dont want to ruin it for anyone. I would love to go again. The teachers were funny and effective in their teaching.

A really nice place! Came here to see Tom Segura a couple weeks ago. My only complaints are the seats are small and super close together and there are no cup holders. It got really warm shortly after the show started. And there was a piece of gum on the floor right in front of my seat so that was bothering me the whole time. Otherwise, I had a nice time!

Came with my school for a marching band performance and it was really cool! The rows get kind of steep, so you may want to consider that if you have a fear of heights

Great place for many cultural happenings. I've seen author talks here, including Eva Schloss, Anne Frank's stepsister. This is a great venue for a lot of informative events. I recommend attending to broaden your mind and your worldview.

I attended the Physics Force event at the Northrop, and was extremely impressed with the architecture of the building, and loved exploring all of the various galleries throughout. The only reason this received less than an excellent score is for the horrendous and almost predatory parking situation, though this is a pretty common problem in the area that really makes the space much less accessible.

The Northrop was very well staffed with knowledgeable and kind people when we attended a show there this week. It was very clean and orderly. We were seated in the second level and there did not appear to be a bad seat in the venue. The only thing I was not sure about (no visible signage) was if the headliner was selling any merchandise, nor where that was in the venue if they were selling merchandise.

Attended the Jose Gonzalez and Rufus Wainwright concert. I had never been to this venue and was very pleased. The auditorium is lovely, the seats were very comfortable, and the acoustics seemed great. That said, the amplification and sound mixing for Gonzalez's portion of the concert felt like it missed the mark. His performance was great, but was marred by vocal and instrumental amplification imbalances to volumes uncharacteristic of a sole acoustic guitar and its singer. I worried that Rufus Wainwright's set would also suffer the same issues, however once he and his ensemble took the stage, the issues were no longer present. His performance was as terrific as I've come to expect from him.

The architecture of this place is gorgeous! Went to a concert here and was very impressed by the sound quality and the great staff. They offered beverages (alcohol and non) and snacks to enjoy before the show - you can't take anything but water in. The lines for the ladies room was long and parking is not easy! Buy a prepaid parking ticket if possible!!

Lovely venue for any event. I have attended talks, concerts, and ballets at this location and it has always been a great venue. The building is beautiful, the seats are well arranged for visibility even if you are shorter and in the back, and the staff is always courteous and helpful. I really like the $30 under 30 deals.

Went here to see Bill Burr recently. This is a really nice auditorium. The architecture is great, and layout is very simple. I was seated on the 4th floor and was able to hear everything just fine. This is through no fault of the building, but being so high up makes it pretty challenging to make things out. I was not really able to see Bill's facial features. I will definitely get closer seating for next time. One thing to note, seats are comfy enough but not super wide and are quite close together. Not really a big deal for me, but perhaps more of an issue for others.

I'm sad to lose the old Northrop, but there are many great aspects to the new renovation. I appreciate that the building is more open and useful for more than just events, however, as an event space it's very classy and offers a lot of an organization. The Carlson stage space is magic. It seats around a few thousand, but you wouldn't know it. It feels like half that many. The acoustics are great.

Decent venue. Box office, security and bars were reasonably well staffed, so lines were manageable and moved along at an ok pace. It's a big room, so seats in the back of the upper level are distant from the stage.

Beautiful venue for a concert, very intimate with auditorium seating. They have small bar stations however they won't let you bring the drinks into the auditorium, which they don't tell you when you buy them. A little weird but staff was friendly and helpful

Cool place to study. Amazing architecture, and has some cool views of downtown east. The top floor is a cool place to hang out and study if nobody's there.

Great venue. Saw my favorite band here. I took the light rail to the concert so I'm not sure how difficult parking would be. Only complaint was the ridiculous beer prices (it was something like $8-9 for a bottle of mediocre beer).

Beautifully remodeled, this historic building is an outstanding facility for theatre, dance and music events and more. Don't miss at least one event here to take in the history and enjoy the event. The logistic challenges include parking that may require you to park a block or two away and the on site food quality is inconsistent.

Great venue! We sat in the 2nd balcony, on the 3rd floor, and didn't feel egregiously far from the stage. We attended the Aziz Ansari show. It was funny and we had a great time! Highly recommend. I think any seat is good at this venue.

Well, I am biased because I work inside this gorgeous building. Opened in the 1930's. I can't believe the acts who visited Northrop over the decades. After the renovation 5 years ago, you'd think this is what interior looked like originally. Construction company got it right. The original architectural details come through. I imagine who came through over the decades. I'm taken back in time on a daily basis. Feel a very good aura inside the obvious spaces and those spaces hidden from general public. Surdyk's cafe provides best coffee on campus along with tasty food better than University Dining Service options. Friendly cried a congregate and use this beautiful space. Don't forget inside the auditorium. I get goosebumps being inside the grand attraction of them all. Kudos!

Went and saw Trevor Noah with my husband. Our seats were six rows from the front. Great venue with comfortable seats, clean lavatory and helpful staff. I would love to come back for other events.

The place is beautiful. Last Saturday I joined the 56th Annual concert at the University of Minnesota, it was huge and comfortable with crowded. The coffee is good too, very nice place to study and meet people. I like to take photography at Northrop, especially the second floor.

I saw Lindsey Sterling here, and all I can say is that I cannot wait to go back! The building is beautifully built, the staff are all super friendly and helpful, and security is a breeze to go through! They also have a backdrop set up for pictures, which I think is a nice touch. After it's recent renovation, Northrop is an excellent venue for any auditorium performance. From lectures to plays to concerts, it has become it's own self-sustained destination for artistic and social events. The experience is rounded out with Surdyk's Cafe on the main floor.

Outstanding venue. Convenient parking, great views from all angles. The sound is fantastic. I have seen multiple rock shows there and a few jazz performances from the pit to the nosebleeds. There really isn't a bad seat. I highly reccomend this and I plan to pay more attention to the show line up to see more here.

Great venue for performances. They make you pay an additional $2 for a drink if you want to bring it into the auditorium but it is branded as a "souvenir cup."

Check out the U of M's summer concert series. Free live music on the plaza in front of Northrop every Wednesday from noon to 1:00 PM. Great bands and a fun time!

Sound was good but parking was awful... If I had know we could have prepaid for parking I would have bit there was no communication about this. Also none of the ramps near there took credit cards... When the parking meters are more advanced you know you have an issue.

The Carlson Family Stage is marvelous. I just hope that the events would be more frequent and advertised in the future. I must also mention that Northrop has a coffee shop and some of the most beautiful quiet areas on campus, making it a good place for study.

Show was fantastic. Unfortunately we were up in the nosebleeds and MAN was it hot up there. Sweated through the entire show. I also have to mention I think it's hilarious that theatres like this have such a strict no cell phone rule, then they fail to enforce it. Hard to listen when the girl in the next row is having a conversation on her phone.

Great place to see comedians, but, boy do they jam pack that place. Drinks are fairly expensive but no more than expected. The policy will not allow patrons to bring in open cans to the auditorium, which is understandable, but it is so wasteful and unnecessary to pour every single drink in a plastic cup with a plastic top. Try compostable cups!
