Reviews of Jungle Theater
Amazing from start to finish. I love the decor and the staff is so helpful and enthusiastic, clearly proud of their theater. The show we saw was unforgettable; so well written and acted with gorgeous music. I'm honored to have a theater of this caliber in our neighborhood.
Went to see Little Women in 2018 and it was absolutely fantastic. The entire experience from entering to exit was great. The space is intimate and cozy which allowed for just about any seat in the house to be great.
Nice quaint theater in the heart of Lyn-lake area. Went to see the Wickhams and it was a great play with comedy ad drama. Parking is in the rear and is a shared lot, else you will have to find street parking. If you are coming to a show, expect to come early or par far away.
Excellent and thoughtful production, and the theater itself is beautiful. I especially enjoyed the conversation with the actors after the show.
We saw Cambodian Rock Band. So much talent on one stage. As always, The Jungle knocks it out of the park. We love everything this theater does.
The Jungle always provides unique and thought-provoking, high-quality theater. While some shows have been more moving than others, I've never been disappointed in the 10 plus years I've been attending. They truly show they care about their community with Every Brillant Thing- which brought suicide prevention resources. They are also Covid conscious-very attentive to these details. To further demonstrate their care for their community they offer flexible pricing. Thank you Jungle! Appreciate you keeping what we need in live theater in the Twin Cities!
I just got home from opening night of Miss Bennett and I am on such an amazing theater high! The theater is absolutely gorgeous. The acting? Superb! The story was so much better than I expected. It was emotional, it was funny, it was beautiful. This was my first time at Jungle Theater, and I am already making plans to go back. First, to see this play again. And then to probably see every other play they put on. I loved it and very highly recommend it!
I was there to see "School Girls, or the African Mean Girls Play" on a Friday night. I was thrilled to be able to take advantage of their young professionals discount. The theater itself is so comfortable! What a pleasure to be able to see the stage instead of the back of people's heads. Also, great leg room and super affordable concessions. We will definitely be back!
Ornately decorated and very comfortable for enjoying the show in an intimate theater.
Great venue with lots of great plays. Comfortable seats. The view to the stage is great from just about anywhere in the theater. It's not a big theater, so it's not very crowded. Every show we've been to has been an excellent production.
Great intimate venue! The staff was very friendly from helping us find the best seats through picking up tickets through ordering drinks and watching the show. The stage is fairly small and it doesn't seem like it seats many more than 100 people. There is a bar in the lobby, decently stocked and decently priced. There are cup holders on each seat so you can bring your drink in. The location has plenty of parking within a few blocks. I'm looking forward to another trip!
Went to see a play called "The kids". It was a well written and performed play. The acting was fantastic, the cast did an amazing job. The theater itself is very nice, I loved looking at the in wall 3D murals they had. Parking is in the back, or on the street, I'd say get there early to grab a spot and grab a drink at a local Brew hall. Concession attendant, Nick I believe his name was, was very nice, made us laugh and he seems very knowledgeable about the Minneapolis Theater world. Can wait to head back for another show, and maybe a laugh with Nick before the show!
The Jungle Theater performances are amazing. The stories they tell by its wonderful cast of local actors are a binafide success and are better than shows I've seen on Broadway. Would highly recommend.
I saw Little Women here and it was wonderful! It was amazing to see how much they could do with a small cast. The theater was a little cozy, but even with our seats in the very front row, I don't feel like I was missing out. This theater is definitely on my radar now!
Wow, what a ride. One of the best I've seen in the Twin Cities in a long time. Go see it. From staging to choreography it is an moral story that has been told over and over but this production brought a light and wonder that should not be missed.
This is time well spent. The Jungle Theatre is a delight and goes beyond expectations.
First time at Jungle Theater and we had a lovely evening. The Bennett Christmas show was well done- myself, my husband and 16yo daughter all enjoyed the play. Hope to see more in the future!
Great small theater with wonderfully weird productions.
We recently just took our first trip to see a show at the Jungle Theater and I have to admit: I hadn't done much research into the show or the venue before going out that night.
We were blown away though -- the engaging actors and incredible writing in Fly By Night really exceeded all our expectations!!! If the Jungle Theater regularly hosts such impressive performances and casts of incredibly talented actors, we'll definitely be back!!!
Small, cozy --and gorgeous-- venue. Great site lines, too. And we loved the production; Miss Bennet is an endearing and funny continuation of Pride and Prejudice completely in the spirit of the original. A wonderful holiday experience.
Gorgeous theater with a super cozy atmosphere. We saw "Miss Bennett" and it was excellent! The cast was across the board funny and the set was so well done
Very nice place although the bathroom smelled.
Very cool and unique theater. I was amazed at the look of the building. The show was really interesting as well. I highly recommend taking in a show here. I'm not even a big play person.
I went to the jungle to see The wolves, and it was honestly amazing. Amazing amazing. beautiful theatre, wonderful acting and it was all spectacular. The only issue I had was there was nowhere to park. The lot was small, and full, and all around on the streets were fuuuulllllll.
Really cool, inclusive and local theater producing a variety of plays year round. Definitely check this place out if you're in the Lyn-Lake area. Lots of fun restaurants nearby, and pay lot parking behind the building.
Very cool little theater. Saw "Hand to God" and enjoyed the play and the space. The seats were roomy and comfortable. I am a hefty gent and was pleased with the hip room.
Jungle Theater is an intimate theater with comfortable with better than average size seating, providing flawless sight lines. Street parking can be crowded, but the paid lot behind the theater is ample.
The Jungle is doing a great job with new artistic director Sarah Rasmussen. Every production is solid throughout: acting, set, lighting, sound. And the selection of plays each season has continued the Jungle's tradition of emotionally gripping work while bringing in some new voices
EVERY play I've seen here has been a joy to watch. I love the 'down home' feel of this theater, right in Uptown! Go, there, catch a play, you'll enjoy it.
The Children was one of the best written, best staged and best acted plays I have ever seen anywhere!
A superior production! Congratulations Jungle!
The Jungle Theater is an exceptional institution which of you're looking for an interesting, painstakingly designed, and enthralling place to experience 150-seatish intimate theater in the twin cities, this is the place to go.
