Reviews of The Pabst Theater
Kelly
What a beautiful, nostalgic, and amazing venue. The staff is friendly, helpful, and courteous and the experience is like walking back in time for a few moments. Tip: the balcony seating steps are pretty steep with no handrails so if this would be a concern the lower seating area may be better.
Daryll Hurst
John Petrucci with Meanstreak opening. Great venue. Sound was good even at the top and back row. Love the location. Only issue is I’m 6’5” and the people that the theater was originally built for weren’t that tall.
Craig Leonhardt
Great experience. There was friendly staff and the experience was so much fun. I recommend it to anyone. It is such a landmark and historical building. The architecture is so well done. The interior is a must see. Pictures just don't do it justice. With a stop if you are in Milwaukee. Catch a show here if you can. There is not a bad seat in the house.
Eric Anderson
What an historic gem of a theater! The balconies may be a little steep, but I love the small intimacy and great acoustics! My recent concerts attended were Almost Queen, Robin Trower, and Steeley Dane - all fantastic shows and experiences!
Amy Johnston
Always love attending events here. The chairs are comfy, the acoustics sound great, and it is a smaller theater giving it more of an intimate setting - not too small though!!
matthew zook
Very very nice Theater. Very clean. Amazing staff. Very well organized. Great beer selection.
Elliott Gruenberg
Had the pleasure of working behind the curtain at this beautiful theater. Despite having optimal space for production and an incredible sound system, the best part of this venue is the people behind the scenes working to make to it all come together. Robyn & her crew were wonderful to share the stage with. 10/10 would recommend!
Kenneth D
Love the Pabst, a beautiful old theater, not a bad seat in the house. This visit was for an oldies concert, had a great time. Just was here for a show on 9/9/22 , had a great time in a beautiful theater
keith hermanson
Very beautiful vintage theater. No real bad seat in the venue great atmosphere and acoustics. Definitely go see a show there if your able.
Frederic Benishek
I have nothing but wonderful memories from the performances here. The historical ambiance is amazing. Not only do you feel youre stepping back in time as though in an old movie, the performances bring the stories to life incredibly as only experiencing it could explain.
Aaron Wensel
The best acoustics and service. Very clean well taken care of theater. Breathtakingly beautiful historic theatre . Best place to see a show in Milwaukee! Always a great time.

My husband and I went to see the Steeley Dane band. I bought him front row tickets for Christmas. About 1/3 of the way into the show? Some really drunk girls came up and started dancing in the space between our row and the stage. They were very distracting and made it difficult to see the stage. Lots more people came up and then staff told them they needed to go back to their seats and they reluctantly did. Then, a little bit later they came back up and kept screaming for their friends to come up. One guy was running around bouncing into people up there. One women sat on the rail in front of our seat. It was impossible to see anything! The last straw was when two very large men stood right in front of us! They weren’t dancing, just standing there with their drinks talking like they were in a bar! The staff came down again and asked them to go back to their seats and they refused so he walked away! We didn’t get to see most of the last half of the show. It felt unsafe too. I was afraid of what would happen if they fell into me or spilled something on us or if a fight would start. It ruined the experience for us. I hope they will get some security who takes their job seriously. If they don’t comply then they should be escorted out. We are coming in March to see snarky puppy and I hope they have this situation resolved by then! The band was amazing but after paying a lot for the seats, we couldn’t see a thing!

Went and saw Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, with opening act Joyous Wolf last night. Best show I've ever been to. In terms of the theater, it was beautiful, fun, and a very cool place to be. The staff were all friendly and were very attentive to what was going on around them. They answered any questions I had. The bathrooms were very clean. The drinks were cold. There seems to be just a little more history around every corner. Definitely worth going to this theater!
Deron Kling
Had a great time and enjoyed the show in this historic theater. I recommend seeing a show here if you have an opportunity. The venue itself is an attraction. In the area of the theater there are a number of great restaurants, and we parked in the Milwaukee Center. I also recommend a stop in the lobby of the Saint Kate - a truly unique hotel!
Kim Tomlinson
Beautiful, historic theater. The intimate space is great for seeing a concert. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat on the main floor. Several bar areas for refreshments and Pabst merchandise. Friendly and helpful ushers and staff.
Andy Fallon (LT Fallon)
Excellent place great views. Been here a few times. Love seeing a Christmas Carol! Bathroom wait can be long. Underground parking is 6’6 use caution if you have a large pick up truck.
Charles Mather
The Pabst Theater is easily accessible downtown near restaurants and other entertainment. A cozy and beautiful entertainment venue. The large bar in the front Lounge is well stocked with Beer & Liquor and other beverages. Plenty of staff with great service. Most seats, including the balcony allows you to feel close to the Entertainers. If you are buying tickets for any shows be sure to stay to the middle and even in the balconies rather than to the sides for a better view. the only reason I could not give a 5-star rating was because I had fourth row seats on the far right side which ended up to be an obstructed view and not being told that when I bought the $150 ticket.
Alison Yuhas
I saw an Andrew McMahon concert here on a Tuesday night, after just seeing the same show in Chicago the past Saturday, and this one was SO MUCH BETTER. These photos are from the 3rd-ish row of seats, which are all on an angle, so you're basically guaranteed to have an amazing view.
There's a few rows of standing room in front of the seats, but they count how many people they let up there, and mark your wristbands, so it doesn't get over crowded.
It was crazy cold outside, so I was worried about getting there early, but there's a giant lobby where everyone was allowed to wait and line up.
I highly recommend doing the $5 parking add on, if it's an option when you buy your tickets - the garage is a couple of blocks away, but most other parking in the area seemed to be much more expensive than that.
The hardest part was waiting to get out of the garage (took a solid 20 minutes), but at that point, we had all just seen such a great show, that no one seemed to care!
Bob “Happy to be here” H.
I finally went here to see Michael Schenker Fest. This theater is a piece of History. Very ornate and not a bad seat in the house. It's in the historic part of downtown Milwaukee right next to the Milwaukee River on Water Street.
I managed to get some photos so I hope you enjoy them as a picture paints thousand words.
If you have tickets to a show get to town a little early and go over to the safe house for dinner. There is also a very nice Brazilian Steakhouse around the corner.
Jack Straw
Great old venue awesome place to see a show I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. The front row the balcony of this theater is nice and close. Don't be afraid of the balcony it might be better than equal distance back on the floor the first front rows for sure.
Adam Marley
Went there to see Jordan Peterson. It was an excellent venue with ornate decorations. Seats are a little tight but work okay. May be a problem if you are bigger. Overall would recommend to anyone.
BRIAN Wilbur WILLIAMS
Beautiful old theater, with tons of history and charm. It's a great place to see an show because of the intimate size and victoria style architecture. My only complaint is it's very cramped so once seated i felt like a sardine lol other than that i highly recommend seeing a show here or checking it out during Doors Open Milwaukee which takes place in late September.
Matt Fowler
Cool theatre.
Wish it had more dancing room when we saw IDLES there but overall very cool.
Has a great set, ceiling and lighting can create some amazing shadow work!
KJ's train run
This was a nice theater. A little cramped but I had a good time. My family enjoyed it and the staff was really friendly and helpful.
Liz Grosset
a beautiful gem of a theater, very intimate. great seats. sure wished the orchestra pit was larger so there could've been live music!
Talli Linnabery
We attended a comedy show here last night. The venue is beautiful but they ran late getting us in. They were still cleaning from the show before and at that point we were 20 minutes past seating time. Not an issue for us though, we're not too picky! Staff was very helpful and friendly! Hope to come back soon
Cynthia DeGroot
The Pabst is just a gorgeous venue for any event. We saw a performance of A Christmas Carol. It was excellent, so well done by each and every performer. Put us in the Christmas spirit!
c godbolt
Beautiful theater, great sound. The staff was friendly and helpful. We used ticket will call, no hassles and got thru security quickly. I don't think there is bad seat in the house. We were in balcony 1st section and had a great view. Although the seats are small and outdated. If the seats right next to us were occupied we would of been uncomfortable. Overall great experience, will consider for future shows.
Paul Menne
Historically beautiful. Awesome concert! Apocalyptica thank you again for your music!
Rebecca Kubisiak
I really enjoy attending performances here. The venue is beautiful and its such an intimate space where you can feel like its just you and the performer. Ive seen the MSO perform here along with a variety of concerts. Drinks arent terribly priced espwcially when compared with the Fiserv and the seating and atmosphere for me are far better as well. It's very comfortable with dynamic accoustics and worth the experience. Plus when you buy tickets you can do a $5 add on for a parking structure nearby which makes it a pretty decent add on!
Arianne Davies
Went to see "A Christmas Carol" here. Really enjoyed it. The stage management was nothing short of amazing and the actors were extremely talented. Also, the architecture of the historical Pabst Theatre was a sight to behold. I loved the experience here and would definitely do it again.
Rachel Chapin
Rodriguez pre covid. The only other time Ive seen him is in Detroit. What a legend.
Great theater, expensive but great memories. Not for casual fans as a result imho.
Chole W
Beautiful and intimate venue, Saw Fran Lebowitz on November 10th and saw Herbie Hancock there, loved both shows and the atmosphere.
Scott Zimmerman
A grand, well preserved, historic, downtown Milwaukee venue to go to and see a performance. We saw Stomp and the sound and seating were outstanding.
Alex Daly
Great theater, a bit on the tight side as far as seating but still good place to catch a show. The acoustics were solid and the stage was plenty big to see the action.
colleen runge
Beautiful theater wonderful staff little river band was really good! Clean as can be no seat in the house had a bad view
cobalt560
Beautiful historic theater!!! A real honor and privilege to perform there🎶🎵🎶⭐️👍 …
Jesse Priest
Was an amazing amazing place from the outside you wouldn't expect it then you walk in and it's so elegant and just leaves you in awe. I went and saw ATWWD and it was amazing I had so much fun and the venue made it that much better.
Matt Gortmaker
Beautiful theater.
Nice bars and selection.
Near by parking!
And pretty cool staff.
Highly recommend going to a show here.
Chris D
Great venue! It is beautiful and the acoustics are really great, especially for someone like me who has a hearing glitch. There doesn’t seem to be a bad seat in the house so we didn’t buy the most expensive ones and still felt like first class. The ticket prices are very reasonable and parking is always convenient and not costly.
We love our evenings in Milwaukee and this venue is at the top of our list.
Garrett Franklin
Love this place. My first time there and say in the 3rd balcony. The seats up there are just as good as the ones down below. It is a beautiful small theater. The interior brings you back to the time it was built. And the feel is like it's being played just for you. Can't wait to go back!!!
Nathan K. Schaefer
Beautifully preserved gilded age theater, fantastic atmosphere and acoustics. An indoor courtyard connects the theater to Saint Kate's art hotel, another must-see, and several theaters, including the Stackner. One of the jewels of Milwaukee, shows here rarely disappoint.
Cotrell Wright
Nice little spot downtown. Nice spacious seating innit. Man ended up paying three3 Dolla for a caprisun for my shorty, but it's was worth it because lil mans was on stage dancing with Michael Jackson. Check out the hidden messages👁️📐 in the art of the building. #beatit #mjlive …
Jen Espino
Came here to see Last Comic Standing. attached parking garage is easy and not too expensive. The venue has a good view of the stage from all seats in the house. There is a lack of bathrooms so the wait can be very long before the show or during intermission. They is one located at the basement that no one seems to know about.
Alexa Wild
Beautiful theater with a lot of seating area. Great concert/show venu. If you get stuck all the way at the top, there is a bar and bathroom on your level.
Geri Wagner
I was here to see the live show from And That's Why We Drink. It was a very pretty theater, my seat was all the way at the top and it was still a pretty good view of the stage. The stairs as well as the seating are a bit steep so try to watch your step!
Willie A Harris Jr
Great atmosphere inside theater. Surprised by the serving of food. Would liked to have more options at the bar.
Nick Hudgins
Beautiful historic venue makes a Christmas Carol that much more amazing!
Sandra Kirkpatrick
Omg Clasic place I just love Milwaukee.. can't wait for another opportunity too go to the threat. Every seat is a good seat.
Tyler Mccambridge
This is a great place to see shows. Staff are pretty good people and very helpful.
Angie Biwer
Beautiful historic building. Staff always nice and helpful. Have been to many shows here.
Melissa Kratz
Very unique, historic experience. We were up on the third floor and having to go all the way to the lower level for the restrooms was a pain. Outside of that, we enjoyed it.
Michael Kowalczuk
One of the most beautiful theaters in the world. I love the Pabst for concernts and comedy events. Would highly recommend if to people who love awesome venues and art. Go check it out! The staff is nice and the place is always easy to get out of after a show. Minor complaint would be that it doesn't have much leg room. We just saw Patton Oswalt there last week and laughed a ton.
Frank Korb
The Pabst theater is a great space for an intimate show. Even the seats in the balcony are nice and close to the stage. Take in a show or two or three.
Lisa Maxfield
Beautiful old theater that's been preserved. Always enjoy it as a venue, and have seen acts such as the four tops, Dita von Teese, and Post Modern Jukebox there. Rows can be a little cramped with smaller seats but it is worth it.
Bonnie Schlote
The staff & volunteers were very friendly and kind & most helpful. It's a beautiful old theater but all the steps are a challenge for those of us with health issues. But we will definitely go back.
Georgette Baumann
Always enjoy this venue for concerts and plays! Beautiful building with so much Milwaukee history.
Antonette Girmscheid
General seating for Gaelic Storm, 3/11/22. Not sure how this works. So we arrived at 6:40pm, doors opened at 7pm. Freezing cold outside, but door man said we can wait in line inside the building. Who knew? But it was great. Went right in and sat in 5th row. Seats were just perfect. The people that work at the Pabst theater were excellent. Some punky kid skipped in line as we were waiting for the doors to open. Everyone in line went through, and he just kept going. One of the ticket takers spotted him and showed this creep out of the building. These workers were great! The concert was excellent.
sean donnellan
Excellent theater, not a bad seat in the house. The team behind the bar were fast and furious for a full house last Friday during the Old Crow Blonde on Blonde show. Get there early, the pilsner is less expensive at the theater than any of the neighboring taverns.
A Julian
Great place to see a show. It feels very personal here with the shows.
L B
Beautiful venue. Great national entertainment. But really, time to knock out a wall in an adjacent building and add restrooms!!!!
Beth Mabie
Went to see Lucinda Williams last night! What a great show. First time I saw her!Blown away.
Anthony Perez
Went to see the Wallflowers, here with my sister, which was absolutely amazing experience in the historic Pabst Theater.
Angela Campbell
Very smooth process to attend an event. Easy parking in the underground parking scructure (if you get there early enough), elevator up to the hall. Helpful staff(tickets, security enter entrance, bar area seating guide), welcoming and clean. Absolutely beautiful venue.
Kashyap Malkan
Historic monument. Love the acoustics and sound. Feel of histroy as you walk through the halls
Ellen N
Christmas Carol was very well done. Everyone one in our party enjoyed it.
Lance Lamont
Really nice theater, although it can take a long time to get through security at the doors - come early!
Derek Schneider
Gorgeous old theater with some of the coolest interior decor in the city. However, when I see a show here I am not strong enough to get a gallery or mezzanine seat. I was getting vertigo looking straight down. This is a very tall compact theater, so if you don't mind heights you will be fine.
Shan L
It's nice here. They could use a better selection of wine/drinks tho!! #Keyshiacole Row A seats
Whit Henning
First time at the ole Pabst Theater!! Here to see a fabulous show..
Tonja Stokes
I went to the Prince Experience show here. The staff was great and well organized. The show was amazing.
Judy Leynse
What a beautiful Theater to go for entertainment. We were there for Darci Lynne's show.
Steve Fordham
Such a great place to watch a show.
Too bad parking is such an expensive pain in Milwaukee.
Osaurus G
Love the acoustics in this theater. I saw Squeeze there last night. Staff is great and a nice bar to boot
Ashley Steffensen
Amazing experience had an great time at this historic Milwaukee theater
Kim Walker
If you're not gonna allow snacks to be brought in then provide some for purchase. At least popcorn 🙄😅 …
Thelonious Linford
Saw Gabriel Kahane and The Punch Brothers here and it was absolutely great!
The theatre is beautiful, and the staff are skilled and efficient at their jobs and running a smooth show.
Jean White
The performance, A Christmas Carol, was fabulous! The acting and special effects were excellent. We were packed in there, just about standing room only. Even though everyone had proof of vaccination, most took masks off. With the Omnicron variant being so contagious, I probably wouldn't attend another packed show put on by The Rep.
Ed Furey
Absolutely beautiful theater. Amazing show by @KathleenMadigan.
Andrew Villagran
A beautiful theater and only a little distracting! Taylor Tomlinson was there and she performed so well! Getting to your seat can be confusing, but people usually help out. I recommend going straight home after a good show though, the bar crowd can be a little toxic. I hope others had a good time, but i have no regrets and will return!!!
Arnold “Arnie” U.
Awesome venue. Keep the classic theaters alive!
Rahul Ramachandran
it's a beautiful theater but if someone told me about a haunted theater this is exactly what I would imagine
S Berg
Great shows in a beautiful theater!!!
Seeing Tig Notaro wasn't my 1st time at the Pabst and hopefully it won't be the last!!
Great sound, beautiful theater, and lots of laughs... what more could I want!
Thomas Sutphin
Went here for a Night Ranger concert a few years back, the acoustics were awesome, the chairs were comfortable, and the interior was very nice. I wish there was a bit more room between chairs because if you get seated next to an obese person it's a bit uncomfortable but so far that has been common for most theaters.
Angela Scharber
Been here for many amazing shows. Love the aesthetic! This is a beautiful theater that provides many opportunities for more intimate shows!
Tracy Bartell
Attending events at The Pabst is like stepping back into history. The theater has been expertly maintained and the theater itself is beautiful. The staff has always been friendly and professional. If you are of a larger size, be warned, the seats are not of modern, luxurious size, so they may seem cramped, but beyond that, they are still very comfortable. I always look forward to visiting the Pabst Theater.
P Skula
Beautiful theater where music sounds clear and wonderful!
David Cooper
The acoustics there are amazing. The theater is beautiful, lots of gold leaf and curtains and details you don't find in new theaters.
J Shoots
Inside is beautiful. One of the classic gems of Milwaukee
Zac Blodgett
The venue was absolutely beautiful and the visibility from seating was great. The staff was nice and helpful. I recommend seeing shows here.
David Mattern
Great venue. Daughter's graduation. Truly a gem of a theater. Perfect 👌 for this occasion. …
Cynthia Nelson
Went to the concert of tbe South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. We bought tickets very front row center, even though we had to look up it was perfect for seeing an accapella group. Liked the fact Pabst is part of a complex of connected buildings such as Milwaukee Repertory Theater and hotel. So we went for a drink in the connected hotel before concert.
Demetria Chojnacki
It's a beautiful building inside and out. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The sound system was really great. But it was very very warm inside. The seats are very close together so if you're there to see a comedian you feel like you're laughing directly into the ears of the people in front of you. Altogether it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go to another event at this location.
Emily Alyce
Beautiful theater, well kept and very helpful/kind staff.
Sara Arendt
Historic, beautiful theater. Comfortable seating, even in the nose bleeds lol
Tiffany
It's hard to find a bad seat and the historical venue is beautiful. No matter if it's a concert, a comedian, or a speaker, it feels like a small personal show.
Timothy Nishimoto
I am in a band (Pink Martini) that is playing here tonight, and we are stoked to be here again! The venue is so cool, the sound is great, everyone is so welcoming, the catering is always killer, AND best if all, they have a Barista in the dining/lounge area making espresso drinks to order! Who DOES that?
Taylor Spangenberg
Threatre was awesome....love this place!! Up close & personal with band. Can't wait to come back.
Lynne Srnec
Saw Grt the Led Out. Fabulous show. We love the Pabst, our favorite venue! We will be there Monday for Little Feat!
Jellings
Absolutely stunning theater. Great venue to see a concert, play or show at. Very intimate setting.
Troy Dunaway
Another great show in this beautiful theater.
Tesla rocked the place!!
Margaret Winstead
I came from Cincinnati to see They Might Be Giants perform here and it was well worth the trip. This is a beautiful historic theater that provides an amazing concert experience. The view from the balcony was completely unobstructed. The seats were very comfortable. The sound was great. Even the bathrooms were clean and in good condition, which is definitely not expected in many concert venues. A wonderful experience that will stand out among the many places where I have seen this band.
Mark Iten
A beautiful theater with great atmosphere and acoustics. The staff here was so pleasant and helpful. You can get a beverage to take into the show. I would see a show there anytime.
Payal Sanghani
This is a beautiful venue! The interior is guilded and intricate with a beautiful chandelier. It makes me think about what theater going was like a century ago. I went to see the OK GO video show there (it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen!!). The theater has great acoustics and makes a concert super enjoyable. Some of the sight lines are a little challenging if you're all the way at the end of the row, but the beauty of the theater almost makes up for that.
Dan Eastwood
What a great venue! We always enjoy the shows here.
Marilyn Hartmann
This theater is a very beautiful place. It has been 30 years or more since we've been back here to see A Christmas Carol. The production was fantastic. Actors were superb and special effects were very nice even the look of falling snow in the audience. I am hoping to come more often to see A Christmas Carol and I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering at this theater is quite an experience.
BLM PHD
Saw some phenomenal productions here as a child.
Natalie Seidenkranz
Great place for a show. Had plenty of restrooms and bartenders. Love that the parking is in the basement.
Bruce J
This is a beautiful, ornate, old theater in downtown Milwaukee built in 1895. Every seat has a great view of the stage. They currently require proof of COVID 19 vaccination or a negative test for entry.
Marcia Ruggaber
John McGivern's shows are the best, most entertaining show you can see. His delivery is fantastic and stories are so well told. We were sad to learn his mother had passed, but his tribute & love for her was fantastic! We have been to many of his shows and never have been disappointed! He is fantastic! The Pabst is a wonderful theater and always a pleasure to visit.
Samuel Crisanti
Great historic theatre, with a beautifully decorated ceiling. Acoustics are very good, and there really isn't a bad seat in the entire place! I personally prefer this over the Riverside (which is also nearby) but they are both nice places to catch a show, or other performance.
Jim wineguy Wirsching Neuser
First time at The Pabst Theater. What a wonderful venue redone. We saw A Christmas Carol what a great production. The sets were fantastic and must see how they transition for one scene to another. All the actors did a great job. Very professional production and staff from the door greeters, ticket takers, bar staff, ushers was a wonderful date night. Must see show and venue
Teresa Verity
Saw Dixie Dregs concert there tonight. Great show . A beautiful venu.
Charlie White
What a glorious old theater this is! We had such a fun time listening to a symphony orchestra in this hall, and the acoustics were exquisite.
Besides listening to the first-rate music, we enjoyed looking at the tremendously tall ceiling with its ornate chandelier, admiring the other decorations, statues and decor around the room and sitting back in the comfortable seats and enjoying each other’s company.
We’re looking forward to attending more concerts and events at this venue.
Brent Terry
Stunning old theater that's preserved and maintained like the architectural gem it is. Great place to see a show. The list of performers they host throughout the year has something for just about every musical taste. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Alastair Samuel
Have been to several concerts at this gorgeous and intimate theater. Acoustics are excellent for music concerts, and the theater is small enough that you feel a connection to the performers.
The higher levels can feel extremely vertiginous, especially when walking along the front row of the second balcony. I often wonder whether throughout the theater's long history, anyone has ever plummeted to a nasty end.
I am deducting one star because the seats are very cramped and uncomfortable, especially for those who are tall. I think the forebears of the people who design economy class airline seats consulted on the seating at The Pabst!!
All joking aside, this is a great place to see a concert or a play. Intimate atmosphere, great views and acoustics make up for the bad seats. They can be endured for an hour or two!!
William Hamilton
Saw A Christmas Carol and it was very entertaining and we'll performed. The set was really amazing too with three nested circles creating a rotating set on the stage. I've not see anything like that before so I was impressed. We had pretty good seats but it looked like everywhere in the house had a pretty good view though; I didn't notice any significant obstructions for the "cheap seats".
Anthony Lucia
Beirut, Old Crow, Jeff Tweedy, and Punch Brothers just a few of the great acts at a historic theater with incredible sound.
Kelly Pearse
Beautiful location with historic values, displays and just pure beauty to look as as you either wait for a show to start, during intermission or waiting to exit. The woodwork and chandelier as re breathtaking. The venue has three levels as the theater is older the leg room is minimal and the seats are on the smaller side but it is so worth the overall experience and viewing of the building as a whole.
Brandi Ohrwall
Pretty good seating and didn't take long at all to get into the place. Got to see Bert Kreisher and it was definitely something to remember forever and hilarious as f*<♤ One thing that was not a plus was the stairs on the balcony next to your seats, if not careful then will definitely trip, needs a little more lighting on the stairs themselves when a show is going on. But ultimately, was awesome as hell.
Elizabeth Welch
This theatre is the most beautiful, historically significant site in Milwaukee. They always have top-notch entertainment. Go there not only to see the events, but take a tour to hear the rich history of the theatre as well. You won't be disappointed ! Just another great reason to visit our wonderful city.
Sandy Moen
A beautiful venue, and could see and hear well. I sat near the back. Had a great time.
Ben McClure
Small and cozy, with nice architecture. The sound quality was pretty good.
DawnMarie O'Donnell
My family and I attended the Christmas carol. The acting, the costumes, and the scenery were phenomenal! The friendliness of the staff was a little mixed. While some ushers were very friendly, other Usher's did not look like they wanted to be there. The tickets were reasonably priced and well worth the annual family outing.
Keith Stachowiak
This place is gorgeous. I've seen dozens of shows here from Vaudeville every NYE as a kid to some of my favorite bands as a teen and adult. I've been backstage during Doors Open and have taken the behind the scenes tour - the building is incredibly linked to Milwaukee's heritage. This was built as a grand opera house, and has superb acoustics. I have many times seen a band play completely unamplified to a packed house. I guarantee you will not find this anywhere else in the city and probably far beyond.
Dan Leunig
The Pabst Theater is an outstanding venue.
Not a bad seat in the house.
David Beck
This theater is a great gem of Milwaukee. If you have never experienced it I highly recommend taking in a show there. It is a beautiful place that has wonderful acoustics. There is so much history here.
Joe D
It's an icon of a bygone era. These palaces of the arts are rare and beautiful. The acoustics are fantastic. The seats are a tad confined. The bartenders are generally quite quick and the long lines at intermission can move a lot faster than you expect. The drink prices are reasonable. The Pabst organization gets some really great shows and should be commended for their hospitality and focus on the arts.
Taylor Soderling
Came for the annual "A Christmas Carol" show and thoroughly enjoyed it. The stage and seating inside are beautiful, I would advise arriving a little early to enjoy the scene before the lights go out for the start of the show. Acoustics were good even near the corner on the mezzanine. Will be looking for other shows as a reason to come back here.
Jeremiah Guinta
The seats are not the largest, but it is a beautiful theater!
Sun Devil 65
The Pabst Theater is an absolutely stunning venue for all manner of staged events. The theater seats about 1,300, giving it a fairly intimate feel. It boasts wonderful acoustics, great views of the stage from every seat, and Old World charm and style. The Pabst Theater does not disappoint!
Susan Bennett
Beautiful classic theater. Easy to access downtown. Restaurants in walking distance in good weather. Plenty of good hotels nearby for an overnight stay. Keeps a busy schedule of a wide variety of events. Great acoustics.
Daniel Fogel
I wonder if a bad band could sound good at the Pabst, because good bands sound great there. The auditorium is so classic from the velvety seats to the multiple balconies. It looks beautiful and the acoustics are fantastic. Add a full bar with a wide beer selection and it's really a special place in my heart.
Arn Stanczyk
We had a delightful evening seeing "A Christmas Carol" . Reduced parking was available and not too far away. The sightlines are good even in the rear, although the seats are rather tight by today's standards. This is an old but venerable and lovely theater.
Kelly McCann
Serves alcohol while you're watching a show. The only downside is some people get drunk and are noisy during the show. But it is a nice theater. You can see the stage really easily. Sound system is good. Seats are surprisingly comfortable. Plenty of leg room and arm room. Good space for crowds because rows are long. There is an upstairs and downstairs seating area. Plenty of space for many people at a show.
David Gust
What an incredible venue. So beautiful. Reminds me of the theater in Phantom of the Opera. We saw Home Free. Great show. The only negative is leg room. If you are a tall person, Row K is the best row to sit in. Looking forward to going back.
Ivorena Taylor
The venue was beautiful, my first time in the Pabst theatre was for the Dave Chappelle show and the line to enter the event was down the block and around the corner at 9:45 and the show was supposed to start at 10. Most shows that I have attended at other venues open doors an hour before the event. I probably would've rated it 5 stars had it not been for the ridiculously long wait time just to get inside the theatre and then try and figure out where you needed to go once you got inside.
Alejandro Hernandez
As my first time coming to The Pabst Theater in downtown Milwaukee; I was quite impressed with the grandeur of size and elegance of the interior and the grand chandelier hanging above glimmering as to remind us of its importance.
I was here at this beautiful theater for a rock concert; to see the '80s band 'Squeeze', and arriving upon my seat which happened to be (Sec: 3 RT, Row: B, Seat:12) I was able to get a great view of the show without any obstruction.
My seat had the usual comfort padding you'll find at any other elegant theater with reasonable foot space, so whichever seat you'll get you can't go wrong with the view.
Prices for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are your average reasonable prices.
The lines for everything from (drinks, merchandise, restrooms, and "getting around") were not too much of a hassle compared to other elegant theatres I've come acrossed in the past.
Upon leaving 'The Pabst Theater', it's location is very close to several open bars/clubs near by. Which I find very convenient for when I am looking for an upscale cocktail bar to whine down and have a sophisticated cocktail before heading out back home.
All in all, I would highly recommend going to this elegant theater for any type of show!

While we were seated in the eighth row for a recent performance, there is no 'bad' seat in this theater! Nearby parking was easily accessible, and we were brought in through an alternate entrance to ensure the ticket holders waiting patiently in line and worried we'd miss the beginning of the show were seated on time. Perfect!
Don Traverso
Excellent venue to see live music.
Jason Lorz
An ornately beautiful theater. I went for a comedy show. It was great. Though I will say I wish the seating were a bit more modern as it's not for tall or bigger people.
Karen Copper
The Pabst Theater is a jewel of a performance spot, with good sight lines and acoustics. It has been kept up in beautiful shape and the entrances and box office are easy to find. Because it is an older, elegant building, know that the stairs to upper seats can be steep and harder to navigate. Parking is $15.
Dean Goodenough
Great venue and even the comedian drinks PBR
Andrea Higgins
Saw the Docksiders here. Great show! Love the nostalgic theater. Staff was a bit annoying... when i stopped briefly in the aisle to visit with my cousin I haven't seen in years. They were pushy to get out of the aisle. I wasn't in anyone's way. Overall it was a good experience. The band was the best part!
Aaron Young
Small and historic venue. Nice and intimate but acousticd less than desirable.
Ed Rose
We ordered tickets for a upcoming show. I was afraid they were lost in the mail. I sent a email and they responded within hours. They are sending new tickets.
michael ward
For a very old theater, it has tons of charm! The view is good just about anywhere you choose to sit.
Ramona Ramos
The Pabst Theatre is beautiful . There is an immediate nostalgic & intriguing feeling you get when you enter. I have to include, the security staff is exceptional- best experience ever! MIAD Graduation 2021...
Luis Lovato
I have driven several hundred miles to go to concerts at this theater more than once. I've never had trouble finding parking in the area and it is easy to get there from the Continental Hotel if you happen to be staying there. I'm not a huge concert-goer so I'm very into the fact that there'splenty of seating so you don't have to stand the whole time or fight your way to the front. They have a decent bar that is fairly quick.
Richard Colvin
One of, if not the greatest venue in Milwaukee. Friendly staff, reasonable drink prices and a beautiful theater. I've seen everything from rock bands to comedians here. Never am I let down by the experience. Even the slightly smaller than airplane seats can't detract from the Pabst Theater.
Heather Marsch
It's a cool old venue in the heart of downtown. The seats are pretty small and close together, and if you sit in the top balcony, the aisles are steep. 16oz drinks are typically $10each. There are parking structures nearby,
Swaroop Kumar
Nostalgic and Victorian. No matter what level you are on, be assured that you ll get a good view of the show. If you are coming here for a comedy show, please book in advance for the front row seats. If its a musical then anywhere is fine. The parking structure and the parking space in it may be a little difficult to find so do come in advance.
Karl Sadueste
The Pabst is a gorgeous, intimate theater that hosts fairly large acts (it's smaller than the Riverside but larger than Turner Hall and the Back Room). The theater has seated rows on the first floor and balcony - there is no standing room. There's ample bathroom space below, a merch room on the side, and bars on multiple floors to grab a drink. I've never had a bad experience here, so if you haven't been, pick up some tickets on their site and go have a good time!
Ken Talatzko
Nice venue......but.......if you have to contact anyone with a question..... don't expect answers or even a return call or message. In our case two $45 tickets ended up costing about $143 after all of the add-on charges.
SLH (SLH)
Excellent venue with lots of seating fantastic acoustics
Sabrina Thorpe
The show we saw was phenomenal, but the Pabst really needs to re-do their seating. I'm an average height female and I felt ridiculously cramped in the seats, I can't imagine how anyone taller than me can tolerate sitting there for more than 5 minutes! And I left with a very sore back because the seats are so uncomfortable and have padding that didn't look like it's been replaced in quite some time. The hall is beautiful in all other respects though
Acsa Buening
Amazing venue and super high balconies which give you an awesome view of the place and it's rich baroque architectural influence. We were there to see David Faherty and he did not disappoint. Very entertaining even if you are not a golf buff. We had a great evening!
Evelyn Berg
We went to see Genesis, the overall experience was very nice. Although, we bought the parking ticket online and we couldn't find the parking lot, not signs at all. We ended up paying again in another place two blocks from there. Walking in high heels in winter wasn't a good experience. But, besides the parking inconvenience we enjoyed the show.
M MARTIN
George Clinton and Parliament! It was live! It was nostalgic! It was fun! The concert was AWESOME. The Pabst Theater is always a class act. The security inside and out were very watchful, professional, without being uptight. The bars were very basic, except the lone bar in the very front of the venue. There there was a broader selection than the others but even so, I believe that the beverage manager should research the entertainment and the expected audience and adjust as accordingly.
Stephen B.
What a charming theater here in downtown Milwaukee. We've enjoyed a number of performances in this space and have been able to sit in different places and levels. Not sure there's a bad seat in the house - it's all good.
Karen Goeden
Went to see the xmas carol. Great play and cast. My daughter was in it in the 80's so brought back memories, lots of changes tho. The only bad thing .. the ushers should assist elderly to their seat and most importantly tell people that there is a step to get in the row they are sitting in. I tripped and I saw another lady fall on her butt
Oscar Sublett
The Pabst has a great history and has grown into one of the best venues in the city for concerts. Bands like playing there, because the acoustics are terrific and the staff is top notch. I've seen all kinds of bands there, like Aimee Mann and Drive by Truckers, and it's a large enough space to get a good crowd built is built to feel intimate.
lori gwiazdowski
Loved the Steve-O bucket list!
Lynne Bialk
Love the ambience. Not enough bathrooms on all floors. Elevator doesn't go up to all floors so walking up/down many stairs can be an issue. Too easy to trip over side step getting into seat row
Timothy Letz
This is a great venue to see a show!
Andrew Vandermeer
Extremely cool venue, wonderfully unique space. Built in the late 19th century, and extremely notable in U.S. history. I saw They Might Be Giants, which was a really nice experience, and the venue seemed to have accommodated the band well. There were a couple of preservation fees for the verge that ballooned the price of the tickets by eight bucks each, but it seems worth it for the location, honestly.
Samantha Quinney
Shows feel intimate and a pretty good view from all seats, the atmosphere is laid back, the architecture and details are beautiful and historical, the sound is good. I am a little wary of the steep and dark balconies. One of my favorite venues
Drew Schroeder
I worked in radio for over 20 years and attended thousands of concerts. Pabst Theater in Milwaukee is now one of my favorite smaller music venues in the country. It was my first time there and I was blown away. It was such a cool classic intimate setting for you show.
I've been to old theaters like this one, but never kept in as good of shape and with such good facilities and Pabst. A packed house and no lines for the bathroom or drinks. I will now go see shows that I normally would not pay for just because they are at the Pabst Theater.
Lisa L
The venue is historically & architectually stunning on the inside. Domestic 16oz beers were $5 and a bottle of water was $4. I was expecting to pay more so this was a nice surprise. It did get pretty warm in there once the seats filled up and people were dancing. The doors leading into the stage area stay close which doesnt allow for the cool air to filter in.
Diane Mosnik
Went to Ballet Russe by the Milwaukee Ballet. The three performances were absolutely phenomenal. The talent of our ballet is truly amazing. Was so enjoyable and to watch it in the beautiful Pabst Theater made it even more incredible. Great night out in Milwaukee.
John Vetterli
My wife and I came recently to the Pabst for a Weird Al concert. The Pabst is a gorgeous, classic theater with modern amenities and equipment. They have a beautiful pub space where the artists were selling merch as well. Security was appropriate and fast. Seating was courteous and expedient. We had a wonderful experience! Also, Milwaukee has a vibrant culture scene and the Pabst is a huge part of it! Their line-up for the next several months includes something for everyone! Highly recommended!
Rich R
The theater itself is amazing. However, the staff could be improved upon greatly. When choosing to host a rock concert featuring one of the greatest guitarists of all time, things like seizing water bottles and sprinting up to any person who holds up their cell phone for more than 3 seconds is a bit ridiculous. It shows a lot of hilariously pathetic enforcement that I have never experienced during this performer's experience in previous venues. The entire audience was forced to be subdued, and apologies are owed to this virtuoso performer.
Kim Clark
My husband & I come every year for A Christmas Carol it's a wonderful show. Actors are all very talented and is fun, they bring in the audience to participate at times. Parking is very convenient in the underground lot.
Chance Weeknd
Saw Rick Astley there. Very nice theater with fast security and nice staff. Will come again. Acoustics were loud but Rick's mic could be turned up a little more because his band drowned out his mic a few times but still a great show
Kathy Robinson
We saw The Manitowoc Minute show, which was great, and we parked in the underground parking attached to the Pabst which was PERFECT!
Luke Zepnick
A historic theater that isn't too large. I've been to the Pabst quite a few times, and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The layout of the building is strange, but it's a historic building, so access to and from seats is confusing enough that they have people posted up all around the place, telling you where to go. You will definitely have a memorable experience at the Pabst!
Eric Mohr
Saw Christmas Carol tonight for the 2nd time in the last 3 years. The show was amazing as always. The set and costumes are wonderful and the actors are truly top notch (especially Scrooge I'm not sure the part can be played better). I knocked a star off the review because as beautiful as the Pabst is there are parts that are just showing their age. They could use a big revamp of the layout and seating. On busy nights the place feels like a can full of sardines and it really takes away from the beauty of the old theater. Obviously it would not be a cheap makeover, but I would gladly pay extra to sit in wider and more comfortable seats and not have to fight my way through 300 people to get a beer or take use the bathroom.
SeasonOfTheWitch
I saw Marc Martel's UQC and had a blast! Second row felt like I was on the stage! Beautiful venue. Parking right next to the building as well. Highly recommended!
Nikunj Patel
Good place to attend lectures. I went for the Brian Cox presentation about space and time. Sound and video were great. They even had a bar to get drinks during the presentation. Avoid seating at the edges as there are a few poles/speakers that might block the view to stage and video presentation.
ccsquared69
Great place to see a concert. Best seats in the house are the first row of upper balcony. You can actually sit and enjoy the show. If you are on the floor you will have to stand??
Scott Steinpas
Great historic building that's very ornate. However, when it comes to seating comfort, not very good. Felt like I was watching the concert from an airplane seat as far as room is concerned. The padding in the seat made it even worse. I know, it's old or maybe I am. Just didn't enjoy it. Beer prices were reasonable though!
Gina Wedekind
Beautiful place. Lots of comfortable seating.
Alexa Earlywine
Absolutely beautiful theater. Saw a concert there. Really beautiful venue.
Jade McKenna
My fiance and I went here for the famous Christmas Carol. The place is beautiful. The parking is terrible be prepared to pay for that and to circle the place about four times. Also the seats in the balcony were tiny, my fiance is a bigger man, making the show uncomfortable for him and those around us. The place isn't well ventilated so dress in layers. Show was very nice once you get past those things
Rick Noll
The Pabst is always a beautiful location, but during the Christmas holidays this historic theater takes on a old feel romantic atmosphere that enhances its warmth, tradition and beauty.
We went to see The Christmas Carol and this year's presentation was truly amazing. The actors and this years adaptation of the annual classic was vary special and worth seeing again. The group we went with all loved it and not one critical word. BRAVO!
Alin Hix
Saw Highly Suspect and it was awesome! Great place to see live music!
Karen Jahns
I went to see Whose Line Is It Anyway at the Pabst. Beautiful historic theatre and saw a great performance. Would love to come back to see another show. It was nice when I ordered tickets online they offered an option for prepaid parking, which was a couple blocks away.
Tamara Unser
Very cool venue for a great show! The Pabst is a beautiful setting for any event.
Jeffrey Williams
We saw The Lettermen at the Pabst Theater, and it was a lot of fun. The theater is lovely and has great acoustics. You do have to endure a security check with a wand, so leave your change, extra keys, and other metal things at home!
Ava Rose
One of Milwaukee's jewels. This 19th century theater is intimate and ornate, with outstanding acoustcs and old-world elegance.
There's really not a bad seat in the house (except the very top balcony, which is a steep view down). The best seats are any seat in the center of the first balcony, where the box seats usually are, in other theaters. Clear sight lines, and an acoustical sweet spot. These are often overlooked, in favor of seating in the back half of the floor. If you don't get a seat in the front half of the floor, ask for these center balcony seats, in any of the first 5 or 6 rows, they are often open and overlooked.
You won't be disappointed by this beautiful venue. Milwaukee has nothing else that compares.
Jen Locke
It's a great place for a show of any kind. My only complaint would be the small size of the seats.
Rick Yanda
The historic theater is the perfect venue for concerts, comedy, and plays. The ambiance is incredible and the staff is attentive to your needs. The bars are adequately stocked and the professionals manning them are good people.
Cameron Scott
Amazing theater and absolutely beautiful building. Thanks so much to the people who run things for having such a cool event like "An Evening with Bruce Campbell" this weekend. We will definitely be back.
Alyse Fleuette
Great venue! Wonderful to see shows here. Whether you’re on the floor or in the balconies, you’ll get a great view.
Cami D.
I went here to see an Irish Rovers performance, and it was lovely! The sound was excellent, I could hear everything perfectly. The bathrooms were clean, the seats were comfortable, and the decor was great!
Robert Mentecki
Great music venue. Although the seats are too small for a big guy
Jessica Hadac
This is a beautiful theatre located in downtown Milwaukee located near the river walk. The only negative would be the cramped seating.
Bill Russell
Great time "a Christmas carol". No humbug here!
Tom D
Awesome theater. Old world charm workout a bad seat in the house. Don't know about music ( sound quality) as we saw stand up. Easy access from parking on site.
Tyler Skibinski (28TSDJ)
Drinks are expensive, a PBR tall should not be more than $4 a can it was $7 Gougers. But who cares the show we saw was more important
Terry Kaphingst
The Gufs are still the best band to come out of Milwaukee. What a blast! Great way to spend New Year's Eve. So fun seeing the band members kids there watching their Dad's perform. You could see how proud they were of their Dad's. We were a little hesitant about a show like this at the Pabst Theater, but our concerns were unfounded. Got to stand right in front of the stage. Even did a fist bump with the guys in the band! Don't miss next time they are in town!.
K B
Ok, so it's a cool theater. But if the show is more than 30-40 minutes dont go here. The seats are SUPER SUPER tiny and VERY uncomfortable. I get that they want to keep the nastolgia of the old theater but people are larger now than they were 110 years ago. We need bigger seats. Its terribly awfully uncomfortable. PS - I'm no fatty or a giant and they are still awful. Im 5'10" and 175Lbs
Adrienne Felice
One of Milwaukee's jewels, the Pabst Theater is ornate and beautiful while still being a comfortable theater. I do suggest that you stay on the main floor if you have any height issues. The balcony, although lovely, is rather steep, as are the stairs.
Mary Spadafora
I enjoyed the Milwaukee Ballet on this evening. The ballet itself was very enjoyable. The Past Theater is inspiring in itself with its beauty. My only set back was all the stairs with No elevator. It was quite difficult for the handicapped individual that was with me.
L Anderson
Vintage theater with lots of classic interior design, which is still in excellent condition.
Staff is extremely friendly. Definitely built for acoustics if you're into that!
Kenlee Brill
Shows are always very good at the Stackner Cabaret Theatre. We've had season tickets for years and they're an excellent value. Tables are a bit crowded together. The metal chairs are very cold and uncomfortable. I bought inexpensive chair pads that we, and others, carry in with us fixing that problem. Ask for some upon arrival as people forget theirs so there may be some available.
Jessica Metters
We saw Joey Diaz on 4-20 and he was AMAZING! Had great seats, dead center and 4th row..the theater was gorgeous and I felt like I was at home on my couch! Can't wait to go back!
Jeremey Wald
Not a bad seat in the house. An iconic location in a great part of the city, right by the riverwalk. Superb acoustics. Beautiful craftsmanship in this historic building. Super friendly and helpful staff. I have seen guitar virtuoso, Steve Vai, and most recently, stand up comedian, Paul Reiser. Both sounded amazing. Paul's opening act, Vance Gilbert even sang an Al Jarreau song without a microphone and his voice was so clear and the tone rang out amazingly in the room. Several parking options are available within walking distance too.
s pags
One of my fave music venues. Good acoustics and three levels make for a semi-intimate experience. The building is beautiful inside, and I’ve never had a bad experience there.
Yukina Kou
Saw the Nightvale Live Show, 1000000/10. The acoustics ate awesome too
Kevin
The Theater is fantastic , beautiful and I had a great time. The only criticism is the house sound was not good. It appeared they had adequate equipment but the audio engineer was off.
Brian H
If you bring your vax card :-( it is a great place to see any show. If its good enough for Jim Gaffigan and crew, its good enough for me!
Zachary Dobson
One of the best concert venues in Milwaukee with its historic architecture. The venue is small enough to not have a bad seat. Pabst/Riverside/Turner Hall’s Facebook page is the best way to watch for concerts coming through. Parking can be tough to find so I’d say to Uber to the area, grab dinner nearby, and walk over to a show.
Nick Giffin
The Pabst is probably the single best theater to see live music. Over the last ten years I've probably been here dozens of times and to dozens of other venues. The Pabst is beautiful, sounds great, and the staff is consistently good to fans.
Dr. Shontina Gladney (Eat.Play.Grind.)
Attended the play "Only God Can Judge Me" by local Play Write Mr. C L WOODSON III at this theater. We had tickets for a 2nd row seats and 2 of our guests seating was totally obstructed by speakers. They should know the set up before selling tickets to assure everyone can visibly see the stage. But the play itself surely made up for it!
Joy Waite
This is a very cool venue. It feels intimate, and no matter where you sit, you don't feel like you're too far from the stage. The theater has a mysterious vintage feel.
Josh Kurnot
This building is classically stunning inside and out. You do have to walk across the street to appreciate the exterior. Look for the upside down spindle on the main staircase. The architects didn't believe in man-made perfection. The history here is thick.
Lee Wegener
Great theater! I love seeing shows here. Not a bad seat in the house, plenty of bars on every floor. Only downside is that the restrooms are all the way in the lower level.
Ethan “Exaltist” Reilly
Has the best performances for the price in Milwaukee. I've been to this place multiple times but not once have I been to the Riverside. Seats are comfortable and in some concerts they allow you to meet up with the performers afterwards. Merch is overpriced but is expected. Can order drinks as well. Very nice architecture.
Mr Ouchiez
Great venue as always! Saw David Cross do stand up, and Ive seen dozens upon dozens of bands rock out to an amazing overall venue sound, and I will likely see dozens more!
Liz Schlaefer
A beautiful theater in the heart of Milwaukee.
Joseph Seibel
Always amazing hospitality and incredible musicians. Love this place. So beautifully ornate
Kyle
It's admittedly a beautiful, historic theater with great acoustics. My biggest issue with it (and most other historic theaters) is the lack of leg room since im over 6ft. Getting to the bathrooms and upper floors is also a hassle and often involves wading through oblivious crowds of people and waiting a long time for elevators. Regardless, the pabst is integral to Milwaukee's arts and is absolutely indispensable. All of us in the community need to support it.
L
Fees are ridiculous. Basically add on 20$ to the original cost of the ticket.
Too cheap to mail actual tickets so all you get is a print out paper receipt. If you want a real ticket you need to go to willcall.
Overpriced drinks and very little leg room in seating
Bought tickets to a show in January of 2017 for a show in October 2017. Normally one should receive email updates for a show but I received none. Steve Martin and Martin Short- show of a life time and very expensive. I got no reminders and missed the show. No refunds. I’m extremely pissed and dissipointed. I’ve been looking forward to the show for nearly a year. As an e member it’s not too much to ask to get a reminder about an event you bought tickets for, especially since they’re so happy to send emails about a dozen other things. Will definitely be keeping tabs on the next show I go to. Thanks for wasting my money and my hope to see two of my favorite comedians.
Amanda
The facility itself is beautiful, vintage like setting. I forgot how small it was and didn't really care for that plus acoustics didn't sound very crisp at all. The staff was phenomenal though.
john garvey
Great venue. Great service at the open bars before and throughout the show
Ticket staff has been incredibly rude on a few occasions in the past. Whoever has/manages the ticket concession takes away from an otherwise fine venue/experience.
Lauren Poppen
Beautiful theater. If you haven't been, you should really check it out. Good variety of shows there, too. Drinks cost too much, but that's expected for any concert venue.
Jackie Rosenwald
Wonderful night at the Pabst Theater. Saw Ken-David Masur conduct the Milwaukee Symphony orchestra. Amazing performance. Parking could be better. Lots of construction in the area.
Joel
Milwaukee's premier place for concerts and comedy. I've seen many shows at the Pabst over the years and the real star remains the venue. Great sound and sightlines. Fair prices on drinks and an amazing, continuous lineup of shows. We take this place for granted.
Kate Archibald
I enjoy the shows at the Pabst, but I hate going to the Pabst. It's a beautiful old building, but the crowding is insane (made worse by the disorganized bag/ticket checks at the front door). Some of the seats could definitely use an upgrade, too.
Tyler Doylson
Beautiful architecture, but some of the staff were not friendly and were clearly clueless at what they should be doing. They pushed us out as quick as they could after the show. The bartenders/concessions people were on the ball though.
Lynn Fredrickson
Cool building: BUT VERY Hard to hear actors when seated on 2nd floor. Snacks and drinks extremely expensive for size. Extremely. Their Boxed water tastes absolutely TERRIBLE. Not kidding.
Great actors
Chris Stevens
Beautiful place to see a concert, not a bad seat in the house
Cali Houtler-McCoy
The space is absolutely beautiful. We saw A Christmas Carol, which was incredibly family friendly and fun. The only draw back was that the actors were difficult to hear.
Rekita Williams
Had a great time at the play but they don’t seem to have handicap accommodations . Which should have been stated when selling tickets that u need to purchase a ticket at a different price if u require special needs. Overall nice.
Craig Burbey
Nothing else in MKE compares to this venue in terms of beauty and elegance. My only complaints are that the seats are not designed for my 21st century lard butt and the restrooms are lacking. However, the sound is great and so are the sightlines.
Lynnie
The Pabst is an elaborate and beautiful historic theatre with cherubs and bric-a-brac. Despite its advanced age, it's a fun place to hear live music. It has an intimate feel. . .we enjoyed it! It's an easy walk to several downtown Milwaukee hotels and restaurants, and just a block from the river walk.
Ted Peters
Great venue. Always clean.
Michael Piraino
What can you you say about a stage that has seen thousands of history's most talented actors project the finest literature ever written, all directed by the epitome of vision, organization. My family and I frequent The Pabst; 'A Christmas Carol' is our favorite! Next season will be our 20th.
James Huycke
Favorite indoor Milwaukee live performance venue. Very intimate...last row on the floor is V. Take advantage of underground parking beneath venue. Short walk to Safe House and Water Street attractions.
Vickicec Cecalupo
Aesthetically very beautiful but not ideal for a symphony concert. Could use update to seating. Don't order the wine..it comes in a can.
Heather Angell
Saw the Indigo Girls and even though we were up pretty far, it still felt quaint. Acoustics are amazing. Such a beautiful theater and the drinks are reasonable
Deb Reher
It's always great to watch a Christmas Carol here. But that being said some of the cast could benefit from a microphone for their parts
We are not crazy with the audience participation but when we've come to see it 20ish years and totally understand if they need to shake things up.
Scott Bright
Awesome venue for shows and music. Seats about 1350 people. Very cozy. Seats are very comfortable. Ample parking near the theater. Staff is nice, ushers are the best.
Madeline Kiesling
Wonderful venue, lots of character and life in the building. Acoustics were great as well, had no issues with sitting in the third balcony.
matthew bauer
Great place to see a concert! Every seat has a great view of the stage. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back again.
Jennifer Winkelman
Beautiful beautiful beautiful. Drinks were well priced. Staff was friendly. Nice big stage. I am now on their mailing list because it is definitely a place to see whatever they have to offer.
Mindy Ness (aquadonia)
Beautiful theater with great sound and, from what I can tell, not really a bad seat in the house. Definitely a fantastic place to see great music performed!
Jean Ott
The historic aspect of The Pabst is both a plus and a minus. The plus is definitely its age, beauty and craftmanship. The minus is that, because of its age, the ease of use is just not there. No bathrooms on the first balcony and death-defying stairs with no railings. We understand that to make any changes would be a major undertaking for compliance purposes so we will live with its shortcomings.
Brett Jensen
The venue is beautiful, but my god it’s hot and cramped. I sweat buckets. The person behind us knocked a beer onto the person next to me.
Lore Lisheron
We saw this beautiful, historic entertainment space during Doors Open Milwaukee. Knowledgeable docents were available to answer questions.
Jim Gamauf
Very cool venue, oozes history being there, the seats are tight together, my wife was feeling a bit claustrophobic during the show, but overall a great experience.
Ashleigh Meyer
Went to Christmas carol, this was my 4th use going and I love it every year. Only complaint I have is how small the seats are. I'm A bigger girl and could've used just a little more room
Timothy Campolo
Beautiful theater. You feel like your connected with the stage gives you a feel it’s smaller then it is.
Bill Bigus
Very nice venue, saw two concerts this month here. Very friendly staff and Covid protocols make sense.
Ashley Adams
Awesome and smaller theatre. There really isn't a bad seat in the place. Parking in the garage next to the theatre has an elevator that leads directly to the lobby. So convenient!
Chuck Beam
Beautiful theater with great acoustics and lighting. We saw the Post Modern Jukebox there and it was an amazing venue for a unique show such as theirs.
Padee Yang
Absolutely breathtaking place to be. MUST go into the big theater, the chandelier is beyond glorious! I feel like I stepped into a different era when i walked into this theater. Always a great experience.
Ethan O
Historic building, great performances, and near a number of resteraunts for pre show meals. Only disappointment is with how dirty and damaged some of the theater looks. Could do with a solid reno and face lift.
Kat
The view was outstanding. U could see the stage no matter where you sat. The only issues were not enough leg room and too low to the ground. The staff was very friendly and helpful
DAVE BRASK
Very nice theater. We sat in back of main floor and it was fine. Parking structure 2 blocks down is handy, Safehouse restaurant down the alley across the street is fun.
Dawn Benedict
Beautiful theater with some awesome shows and concerts.
Reide Frakes
A beautiful place to visit and enjoy entertaining productions
Shane Stricker
This might be the best theater in Wisconsin. Friendly staff, phenomenal sound, and amazing performances. It's my all-time favorite place to see a concert.
Peter Kinkead
Accustically amazing! Turn of the century style. Turn of the century seating though( we were a smaller people then). Buy tickets in person if you can. Their "transaction fee" is per TICKET, NOT per TRANSACTION like most places, it adds up quick.
Trini Torres
Saw the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Great! If you have problem with balance or heights, I'd get first level tickets; Rows F and above on 2nd level. Banisters at wall only. Can't imagine the 3rd level.
Shahin Akhavan
The theater reeked of marijuana on the night before Easter...shameful. Joey Diaz’s material was vulgar and offensive, I don’t think I’ll ever be going back. Just kidding ya cocksuckas! It was a great show, now go dust that monkey.
Paul Gebauer
Never saw a show here in all my concert going years. Not a bad seat in the house. Great accoustics, classic feel!
Dan Collby
Went hear to see Alton Brown here this past saturday & it truly was amazing from the architecture and the hallways and ceilings and carpet and the show of course , but more importantly the hospitality is truly amazing here , the only real problem was finding the place because it was very confusing and there is another building called the Pabst Theater and many people were confused about where to go in and exactly what building to go to and ended up walking several blocks before finally finding where we were supposed to be and that really sucked because none of us were prepared for that and all of the hurry up walking and Stress and Anxiety , but now knowing where this place is we would definitely come again , and one thing I thought was really awesome about this place and the hospitality was that they brought you right to your seat and had a elevator to take you up and down if needed !
Diana McGath
Extraordinary experiences happen here!
Beautiful, comfortable and historic!
Truly a Milwaukee treasure!!
Richard Radke
For a Theater that's over 100 years old, it looks wonderful and takes you back to yester year and has some modern amenities. Also it's conveniently attached to the intercontinental hotel.
Cody Adams
Beautiful theater! Clean, polite staff. Great experience!
Dizmatic
Great place to go to a concert.
Doug Kinart
Great concert venue not a bad seat in the house fast in and out picked up tickets at will call no problem. Fast in and out my first time there will go again A☆☆☆☆☆experience! !!!!!
Aaron Giese
Incredible and beautiful venue for live music. The sound is perfect, and the size means you're always close to the stage no matter where you sit.
Joel Schoenbeck
Have seen dozens of acts here. I like the front seats on the 2nd floor. This it's a real treat from a historical perspective, too. The chandelier is just amazing. I'll be back many times.
Mona Garcia
The Pabst is such a glorious theater. Incredibly friendly Ushers and very good Covid protocol in place. It was great to be back in The Pabst.
Daniel Dahl
Always a pleasure to visit this treasure. Staff are Pros
Debbie J
Great concert experience!!
Kelly Jo Brandt
Such a beautiful and wonderful place to see a musician play at. Any breaks between acts, I just stare at the wonderful designs and architecture of the theatre.
Chuck Poat
Awesome theater. Old school, built in late 1890s. Not a bad seat in the house.
jason handke
60 dollar seats where nose bleed seats. I would suggest buying the most expensive seats possible to get s good seat. We were in the worst area possible. Overall play was good but hard to see at times.
Teri L.
Wonderful venue to see just about any show. Large enough to have a good audience, but small enough to give you an intimate performance feel.
Kristine Maynard
It's a beautiful theater with excellent staff. I would suggest parking at the hotel. The sound was a little off when we were there but it was still fun.
Susan Rand
Loved the building! Wished I could of looked around a little more. Great sound system. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning soon.
Dottie Glesener
Not a bad seat in the house - beautiful theater - great entertainment. Kathleen Madigan did not disappoint!!
Brian Barber
Second time for Highly Suspect at the Pabst.. Absolutely love this place!!
Jessica Darczuk
Beautiful venue. Great performers. Surprisingly, they have had unreliable spotlighters during two shows I attended that the performers called them out on 😂 …
Joe Welch
Beautiful venue. Great sound. Love concerts here
Sam Lancaster
WOW! This place was awesome! We saw The Mavericks and the sound was amazing. The restoration of this theater was very well done. A very nice place to see a music venue.
David Michael
A stellar performance by Lyle Lovett, with great accoustics, but the seats are too low to the ground and uncomfortable...plus, the glow of cell phones from idiots taping the show, and people constantly getting up with the small spaces in the seat aisles, made the show very distracted...next time I'll forego main floor seating and get balcony close to the edge. .
Jenn Balistreire
Love the Pabst! Always a good time. Very clean & the staff was amazing.
Kimber Duer
I loved the old feel of the bldg... But don't get seats in the middle of the isle... U know ur gonna have to use the bathroom.. and everyone has to move for u.. and u know they are calling you all kinds of names under their breath lol.. so I'm sorry if I stepped on ur toe or made u have to move to let me out. But I do appreciate your patience.. :)
Raymond Thompson
The seats are cramped, not allowed to bring in sippy cup, short on staff, but the sound system works loud, but it works lol maybe because it's a tight nit fit Ijs...
Mark Oppedahl
The Pabst Theater in Millwaukee is my favorite indoor venue in the upper midwest. Easy to get down front or in a comfy seat and of course excellent acoustics for your favorite musical performances.
Sean Schimke
Seen a stand up show, building is nice, a few bars on the inside. Seating is really cramped though. If I didn't have and end seat no way I would go back.
Sabrina Stangler
Beautiful, but poor bathroom placement, and I ended up in probably the worst seat in the house up on the top behind some big box thing. Would have been fine if I weren't 5'2 ...
Daniel Bye
Get The Led Out was amazing!
Steve Jernberg
Beautiful old theater. It will be nice when we can start having large performances in theaters again.
Denise Grandon
Small, intimate place to see a show. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. There are bars on every floor, but the restroom is all the way in the basement.
Stephan Z
Awesome historic theatre. Smaller and more intimate seating. The sound for the concert I was at was great!
Kathleen Anderson
1 of the Best venues in the country to hear music. Aucusticly perfect and not a bad seat in the house. Always a pleasure to go there.
Carol Hoffmann
There's nothing here to dislike. Beautiful old building with so much character. Seats are very comfortable and it's a pleasure to watch a play here.

Beautiful theater. Been here a few times for comedy shows. My only complaint is as a taller guy I find the seating at the Riverside a bit cramped.
Jake Arnold
I had never been to Milwaukee so for my first time to include a show at this beautiful theater was awesome. ZZ Top coming soon
Jeffrey Poplawski
Great show Christmas Carol
Anne Lehmer
Gorgeously preserved historical venue. Even the nosebleed seats have great sightlines. Great sound, excellent place to see performing arts.
Justin Norman
I saw Sam Harris and Eric Weinstein here in January 2019. It’s a very beautiful venue with comfortable seating, a good sound system, and excellent visibility.
William First
Theater was not well cleaned and had a distinct tobacco odor. Seating is antiquated (cramped) and restrooms were inadequate for the volume of patrons at a half sold show. I do not expect to return given my experience
Sara Larscheidt
Couldn't bring my purse in because it was too big and I couldn't keep the bottled water I purchased as I was walking out. Otherwise, great acoustics and pretty building.
K.W. Bernoska
I saw The Decemberists at The Pabst back in 2010 and was floored by a three piece vocal group -- Mountain Man -- who opened for them. Amelia Meath (of Mountain Man) would later meet Milwaukee's Nick Sanborn (Decibully, Made of Oak) at The Cactus Club and go on to form Sylvan Esso. With everything that has come since, 2010 feels like multiple lifetimes ago.
Phox sold out The Pabst in 2015. That same year Vic and Gab played their last show here (as Vic and Gab). Milwaukee, today, has a deep bench in local acts -- robust enough to regularly put itself on display in this space. Here, I think The Pabst Theatre Group tends to underperform. Who do we talk to to get this space to be in better conversation with Milwaukee's homegrown AAA (or near-AAA) musicians?
On that front, I think I remember seeing a big ad at the Intermodal Station with The Pabst Threatre Group Management Team -- and those folks look like they fall under a supremely limited range of adjectives; far fewer than what is in anyway sensible to really be stewards of this space. Damn! It's a shame really.
Jamie Rose
The theater is very clean and the staff actually know how to use the audio equipment. Would gladly come back to see another performance here.
Chris Jasniewski
I really enjoyed the Danny Gokey concert I went to. The acoustics were very good and the from my seat on the 2nd level I could see everything very well.
Michele French

Matthew Beranek
Well maintained theater. Great for any kind of show be it comedy or a play.
Stevie Frankow
Wonderful place and a huge money saver if you stop in instead of buying online.
mimzy null
The ambiance of the Pabst makes it the best theater ( as a local) for every type of venue. Hands down my favorite place to see concerts as well.
Steven Edwards
The shows are always fantastic and there are no bad seats in the house. The theater group always has great shows coming through and always delivers A+ service.

Beautiful theater! Christmas Carol was AMAZING. The set is beautiful!
Daniel Brunette
Great venue and acoustics. Friendly staff, good drinks. Check the parking location, pay up less scary walk back to your vehicle.
Jesse Heaton
This theater is old school but I love it! If you have wide hips just be aware that the seats are narrow.
Count von Count
What a wonderful New Years eve Party! Chickenwire really came into their own as Horseshoes and Hand Grenades brought in the new year the way they've been doing for years.
D Palkovich
My review is probably a little prejudiced in that WE PERFORMED THERE with Gaelic Storm! Celtic Nations Pipes and Drums - we had a BLAST! and we were well accommodated.
Lisa Lueneburg

Sandy Flinchum-Martin
Great venue. Quick bar service. Plenty of bathrooms. Beautiful and clean. Not a bad seat in the place.
Doris Murphy
I don't know how old this theatre is, but the seating (to me) is uncomfortable and talk about no leg room. I'm 5 ft 6in and my legs we're like pretzels by the end of the play
CatLady Z
Beautiful theatre. Not too big - not too little. Easy to get to.
Noel Pollen
Love comming here for shows. Always have a good time. I was only disappointed that they didnt serve red stripe during a rege concert however the beer was good!
Dennis Anderson
Beautiful theater, nice hard working staff. Never had to wait long for a drink. sound was excellent.
Michael Jones
The seating is a little cramped for very tall people, but for the most part the building is nice, and visability to the stage is decent even from the balcony.
Peter Johnson
One of the best theaters in Milwaukee. Great for a sit down show but a little lacking for shows that require dancing.
Bruce Brock
