Reviews of The Orpheum Theatre
Miguel Arballo
Beautiful music venues, and the ushers are careful to follow the rules. I really appreciated their various bars, specially the one close to the restroom. I recently saw Ryan Adams at this theatre and it did not disappoint. Great acoustics, I could hear everything clearly and the seating arrangement weren’t bad at all. Roomy seats, cup holders in front of the seats. I took the time to take in the architecture and the artsy walls. Catch a show here and enjoy yourself.

This theater has enough detail and design to keep your busy with hours of selfies. I loved the clean bathrooms and easy layout. I was impressed by the number of staff. Despite the classical appearance, they do not take cash at the bar.
As a tall person I had to find a space to stand in the back because my legs were squished. So, if you’re tall, be sure that you’re also rich so you can afford a better seat.

Old time-y with a taste of modern culture. A mix of original theatric performances with the modern standard of entertainment. Overall a great place to host or watch an event.
Chris Ginnaven
My wife and I attended a concert at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles recently for Joe Jackson's "Sing You Sinners " tour. Both the venue and the show were phenomenal 🙌 …
Lorraine Moore
Beautiful theater. I love all the detail and decor of older theaters. This one is a classic. Love it.
T'Yana Randall
Had an amazing time watching the Set It Off play. This is such a beautiful theater. Well maintained and great staff to make our experience that much more enjoyable.
Jayleen S
Great venue! Love the rich history of this newly restored theatre! The interior is dazzling and impressive!
Julio Patron
Beautiful teathre. Renovated, luxurious, wonderful acoustic sound ; wish to see more artists. Play there.
Good bar service with fair prices. Credit cards. 👍 …
Keith Melvill
Absolutely beautiful theatre. Truly unbelievable sound. We saw Dropkick Murphy's, such a great show.
Ge Ob
Its a great venue. The food was ok, the venue is nice and parking was not too much of an issue.
Lisa Baptiste
Aloha …. LOVE The architecture of this beautiful building… Dot dot I can see why it’s still open…… Love the Wardruna concert…. Yes the seats are a little bit tight… But the theater is absolutely beautiful I wouldn’t change your hair… Except for the seat size
Ralph Alcantar
That old theatre vibe is always appreciated by me. When to see Dropkick Murphys, staff was super friendly and helpful. Quick directions to seats and restrooms and more importantly, the bar for refreshments. Had a rocking amazing time and want to see how other shows do here. Let's go!

The Orpheum Theatre is absolutely beautiful. It was built in the 1920"s and looks completely the way that it did in the 1920"s . It's decor is rich, opulent, well crafted and stunningly beautiful. The elevator is a gem. It has a wood and glass door, or wood and metal, that allows you to see inside the elevator. It's black inside. At first glance it would appear that the elevator is not working. Then a brightly lit square car floats down and the glass and wood or metal doors open, and the is an elevator attendant inside to greet you and take you to your floor. I've only seen something like that in old movies. It's nice and personable. You could tell when this elevator was installed, it was something new that many other buildings at the time did not have. The auditorium is grand and the sound system and stage lighting is top notch. This theater has a lot of character, you can feel it. But it's not a creepy feeling or a malevolent one. It's a warm friendly feeling. I like this theater a lot. I would love to go back there to see more of it and learn about it's history. I wonder if they do tours? I"ll have to find out about that.

Gorgeous. Decent acostics. Bathrooms downstairs might be an issue for some, butwide stairs with rails on each side. Very clean and well maintained throughout. Staff was great. Event was awesome.
Very enjoyable

Great place , clean and employees very friendly 🇪🇸♥️🎶 …

This is one of LA’s iconic historic theater and it’s in the heart of downtown. I’ve seen two shows here now, a Stranger Things concert and Amy Schumer and they were both fantastic events enchanced by the venue. A multitude of legends have performed here over the decades and it’s a must visit for any true Los Angeleno. The food and drink options are pretty solid too.
Tania Cruz
Theater must allow to drink alcohol just at the bar area!!!
I don't like spend money for hear drunk people instead of the concert!!! Very uncomfortable experience!!!!Also they were aggressive with us!!
Gregg Oelker
This is a beautiful old art deco theater on Broadway in downtown L.A. A wonderful place to see a concert. No bad seats on the ground floor but better toward the center (as always). The front of the balcony is also great. A bit of an echo further up. The staff here are friendly and not aggressive as in some venues. The only complaint I have is the small bathrooms in the upper level. Much better in the basement. Another great concert!
Rita Hand
Beautiful historic venue!
James Sterner
Awesome venue, awesome show. The bathroom situation is ridiculous, and not in a good way. There's a 2,000 person capacity, and I say a toilet for every 375 people. It's nuts. To add onto that we went to GET, and it was 90% old dudes (and there's nothing wrong with that and it is realistically to be expected), but I encountered a lot of really in appropriate bathroom behavior both myself and my compadre experienced (I'm talking eye contact one on one conversations, and shaking after peeing, and I'm talking like 10 shakes before I, in horror, backed away.

I was invited to the Set It Off play and I had an awesome time. Da Brat did her thang add all add the other members. People everywhere but they was on point about covid. I 4 stars only because the space of in the seating was tight.
Oscar H. Fajardo
Came to watch Andrew Shultz comedian. The venue has great architecture and plenty of great views of the stage . Plenty of restrooms.
Gary Rakestraw
Love the theatre but the sound was a bit off for Silversun Pickup
Emily Dobrich
This theatre is pretty incredible. Just sitting in the theatre waiting for the show to start is an experience. It is decorated exquisitely and there is so much history that pours out of the place. You can't help but feel it and be inspired
Robert (thespacecowboy)
Beautiful theatre. We had a "no cellphone" show for Netflix but the process was very efficient and the staff were great.
Stephen Arriola
Such a beautiful venue. I am a huge fan of architecture and this place is at the pinnacle of it. The stage boxes were my favorite because it really gives the upper echelon feel. The room felt cozy and made for a more intimate energy. On the outskirts, the "hallways" had beautiful carpeting and trim. Such a great place to be in
Wisteria Village
Great place for a venue. My seats were off the side but I could see the whole stage and no one obstructs your view (even with tall people in front). Great lighting, facilities and ventilation.
Hannes Zerner
This is an amazing theater right in Downtown LA. Even though it looks much bigger on TV during drag race. However everything feels Grand and Awesome. And it can compete with most NYC Broadway Theaters as well.
Nubian D
We went here to see Anthony Hamilton and he was amazing. We had good seats, didn't get to check out the whole place as we arrived on time. Parking was a beast and traffic was crazy. If your not from LA plan accordingly!
Sarira Sadeghi
The theater is gorgeous and there is no bad seat. There is plenty of parking in the area. I parked at a lot at 9th and Hill that was $10 for the night I went (a Wednesday). The theater served alcohol (I'm not sure if this varies based on the event) and you could take it into the theater. There are lots of great restaurants in walking distance, and the theater is handicap accessible.
G Hernandez
Beautiful theater pretty much every seat has a good view except left orchestra M,N and O seats starting with seats numbered 43 and on... there is an obstruction ( camera man on stage) that will cover your whole view after reporting it to the manager we were given better seats with a great view all staff were friendly and kind
William Short
Very nice theater the only thing is the balcony seats are good until you get a fat head in front of you and then you can't see the stage...
Daniel Contreras
A quaint theater in the Los Angeles area on Broadway. Great sound here, and all the seats have a great view. Look forward to my next visit.
Howard Gardner
Very Historical building! The rows are a little too close together! Not much leg room for tall people! They sell food and alcoholic beverages! Very nice venue!
Tish Griggs
Beautiful historic building!! Got the chance to see this gorgeous place because of The Best in Drag competition this past Sunday!
Robert Abbott
Nice old theater in the garment district. Easy entry, plenty of help getting to seats (which are a bit small ... but that isn't unusual). Be prepared for downtown LA. It is a hole ... the underbelly of the city.
Mariana Franzetti
Such a beautiful theatre, very similar to what you would see on Broadway. The seating isn't the most comfortable, but you aren't there for that 😉
I did not try parking at one of the garages nearby, so I can't speak to that. It was a quick Uber ride for me though, with drop off around the corner.
ALLEN QUINTON
Beautiful theatre. The color scheme, molding, lighting fixtures are awsome. Seats are fairly comfortable. Bathrooms are small. 10.00 parking within walking distance to theatre. I had never been to that theatre until last nights Joe Jackson concert. Overall very nice experience.

THE ORPHEUM THEATRE
Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument (LAHCM) and Movie Palace
Built in 1926
FUN FACT: Some of the films and TV shows previously shot at here include: Transformers, American Idol, and America's Got Talent.
Nick E
Classic venue, small theatre, but with luxurious looking details great view from wherever you sit (row k)
Howard Nusbaum
Historical theater, easy getting in and out of the venue, plenty of restroom that were clean. Prices of drinks and food is what you would expect. Bar line is quick. The only issue was the air con...it was a bit warm inside
Raquel Medina
Beautiful restored theater. I used to go to movies there when I was a kid. Enjoyed Seeing Tedeschi Trucks. I hope to more concerts soon.
Kavya Akash Bakshi
Great venue and fantastic show, would highly recommend
Michael O'Sullivan
Beautiful theater. Makes for a wonderful atmosphere. But as usual, seats are cramped for leg space. It was also freezing cold. Even after a couple hours with a full house, I was still wearing my jacket.
Terry Franklin
Great time at the Outfest Los Angeles 2021 Closing Night Gala rocking out with all-female, queer, filipino and diverse rock pioneers Fanny!
Bougie Corner
Came here to see Set It Off stage play with a couple friends. I enjoyed myself. The theater is an old antique type of place. But clean and spacious. Easily to miss when driving. Do pay attention.
Chris Fortunato
Parking is... well, it's L.A. so just know it's a mess and expensive. If you use a parking app, you might be able to get close to $10, and nearby.
The venue itself is fantastic, great sound and a nice size for small-medium size performances. The layout is good, didn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. Very few places to eat or drink nearby; one option, although expensive, is to park at L.A. Live and take a 15 minute walk to the Orpheum before your event.
Still, all things considered, the place is very well done, staff is nice and helpful, and beverages are quick to service.
Emily Noothernameneeded
I beautiful old theatre, with carved wooden aisle ends and ornate ceiling decoration.. an intimate viewing experience for anything you're watching on stage
Aries Astella (FiercelyAries)
Such a big and beautiful theater! I sat near the front of the stage on the lower level and the lighting, sound, space, and building itself were just fantastic. Very clean and well kept. I enjoyed my time there.
Paul Ramirez
One of the most amazing music venues in Los Angeles. The interior of the theater is really amazing. Also no matter where your seats are in theater you have a great view of the show.
Don Lee
I've seen three shows here and I've always loved the atmosphere.
Chrissy Fitch
Beautiful venue! Not a bad seat in the theater. Parking was convenient. Lots of stairs. There were several bars inside so wait time was short. Look forward to attending more events at thr Orpheum Theater.
Maria D
I enjoyed the venue! It was surprisingly spacious and there were enough exits to be able to leave in a reasonable time. Staff were polite and helpful. Parking is two doors down and convenient. Enjoy!
Alicia James
I watched the Set It Off play. The play was good but the seating is terrible. If you are sitting underneath the balcony you will not be able to see any scenes on that side.
Janet Kordich
Absolutely beautiful theater. Amazing interior, small venue which makes for a great personal experience with the artist.
Michelle C. Torres-Grant
The Orpheum is a beautiful old art deco theater in downtown LA. I've attended both concerts and TED-style panel discussions there. The bathrooms could use refurbishing; other than that I love the place!
William Escobar
Came to see Johnnyswim in April 2022, and saw Norah Jones back in 2018 here. It has an old timey theatre look to it. I’ve been in the balcony and I’ve been on the lower level towards the back. Very cool place with great acoustics. You can walk around and explore the areas outside the theatre in the lobby and come across some really cool places to hang out in between sets. Drinks are pretty good too!
Thom Uber
Historic beautiful theater in the middle of downtown Los Angeles. Super friendly staff. Everyone does a great job. Comfortable seats in an old classic theater. Always welcome the opportunity to see a stage show here
Lindsey Lawson
Beautiful Theatre. No parking available though. Getting in and out takes a little time but a gorgeous old theater.
Ric Sandoval
Great little venue for a concert on Oscar Sunday! It was just great--great rennovation work!
Smilez Bautista
Took my mom to see Adrian Uribe and Consuelo Duval, what a gorgeous place but the security guards were a little too strict, we were told not to take our phones out or they would have to take them away... I paid hundreds for this early Christmas present for my mom and see these two amazing actors just to be told this? That’s not how it should be, but it is what it is....
Marco
Very beatifull theatre, well organized with courteous snd professional stall.
Catherine Berry
A classic Beaux Arts theater converted into a small concert venue. Comfortable, good acoustics, and visually spectacular. I've seen several concerts here and enjoyed them all.
Erick Ledford
Watched BOTAR here. Unforgettable night, best concert I've ever been to hands down. Great sound, great venue.
Maureen Sullivan
What could I possibly say about The Orpheum that hasn't already been said? The venue is gorgeous and a part of LA's history - a must-see spot. The sound is only so-so but the opulence of the room makes up for that. PS: I'm a second generation Angeleno so I'm uniquely qualified to write this 😀 …
John Dho
Beautifully restored 1926 vaudeville theater with great sightlines and acoustics. Loved it!
William Aubrey
Incredibly maintained architecture + great bands + historical monument = I LOVE THIS PLACE.
Stuart Stackelhouse
Great, classic atmosphere. Comfortable seating. There is not a bad view in the house.
Malie Marcelin
Absolutely gorgeous!!! I would suggest center seats for anyone buying play tickets...Small but intimate!!!
David Ortega
Excellent venue, we purchased tickets through a 3rd party, which we were excited to see Lauren Daigle, but two people obstructed out view, but an User accommodated us, TY to the Orpheum staff❤😊👍🏻👍🏻 …
bono212
Easily accessed via public transportation. Great views, service. Love that they have food as well as drinks. Seen two shows here and both were just fantastic.
Buzz “Sonic Pressure” Custodio
The Orpheum is absolutely beautiful. I saw Tori Amos in June and she was amazing.
Richard Reardon
Gorgeous interior since the 2019 remodel. A must see. Parking is close by in various lots, but can be a bit questionable, but reasonably priced. Masks required and no food eaten in the theatre portion itself.
Marilyn Mejia
Absolutely beautiful inside and I felt so close to the stage even on the balcony.
David Rajewski
I saw Dr. Jordan Peterson at this theater and it was fantastic. Staff was friendly and efficient. Theater is beautiful and historic. I highly recommend this venue.
Aiden Daye
The Orpheum Theatre is one of the nicest vaudeville theatres we still have in Los Angeles. Just saw Rhye, what an amazing performance that was! Also, saw Lewis Black. Which was just alright.
Nels Griffin
Incredible find in LA by LA live. Amazing sound, intimate setting and incredibly talented acts. Thank you Brothers Osborne for letting us join you for an afternoon.
Ashleigh Pinkerton
We saw Gungor and Johnnyswim at The Orpheum and it was amazing! Great venue!
Kevin Storey
The theater is very nicely renovated but the seats are far too close together if you're over 6 ft tall you'll catch hell
Ken Warren
Instead of placing cup holders on your seat's arm rest they are attached to the chair in front of you. There is very little room between the rows and the cup holders are in the way of people trying to squeeze by to get to their seats. If you have an open drink in the cup holder, every person passing by contaminates the drink. Very poor design flaw in a rather beautiful venue.
Anthony Doko
It was easy to get to and from the venue. The seating is comfortable and the bar is nice.
Katie
Beautiful and nostalgic venue with great sound. Nice selection of beverages. Very enjoyable!
Les Jones
A great venue for music! It's historic, beautiful, and not overly large. Saw Box Scaggs and had a great time.
Jose Perdomo
This place looked awesome. A perfect stage for theatrics and stand up. The drinks are not cheap though, so remember to pregame prior to going.
Miriam M. L'Engle
Beautiful place! A must visit if you are in LA
Mel B
It was very easy to find and to find parking close by the theater. It was a decent size inside the building and sound quality was good to hear the performers.
Tom Bowlby
What a beautiful and amazing venue, this place was great.. the staff was perfect,
M. Bdt
Amazing old theatre. Really welcoming. Good acoustics.
Jazz Shademan
Always a great experience. Beautiful theater.
Christopher Lim (Listentochris)
Great venue to see a show. One of the few venues on Broadway still in operation. Very good shows on the schedule for the year.
I really like the size of this venue. Not too big and your are a comfortable distance from the artist. The seats are not too crazy vertical either like in some venues.
Dakotah Luster
I'm tall and the seats really made it cramped. If your tall make sure to get an isle seat. Great experience otherwise.
Jessica Graybill
Great venue that always has great acts, beautiful art deco design everywhere you look! Clean bathrooms too
Elizabeth Stockman
This venue is beautiful, but the seats are very close together. You feel like you are on an airplane. The parking is next door and it is cash only, so be prepared or you will have to drive around the block looking for an ATM. It was $10. The venue was very nice and clean. We sat in the balcony and had an excellent view. There were also balcony seats on each side that only seat a few people in each section. I don't know if those seats are available to the public or if those are family and friends seats only, but if you could get those seats I think they would be the best because you would not be so close to so many people. I would imagine they're probably more expensive though.
Richard Linsalato
Very nice theater. It's nostalgic, well kept and Every seat looks like you get a pretty good view. The restrooms we're very clean and the staff seemed very nice. Overall it was an awesome experience watching the Mike & Mickey show( the Monkees). The parking right next to the theater is only $10 bucks but you can tell it fills up quickly. I recommend getting there early.
Brandon Gomez
Saw Ray LaMontagne here. Great sound in this theatre. Love how they have restored them.
Ian Dworkin
Had a great experience at my first time to the venue. Great bar areas and enjoyed the classic architecture and style of the theater. Saw The National perform and enjoyed the sound quality and the lighting. Will definitely be back for another show!
Laura Lara
Great venue to see my favorite band Squeeze play, and it was Amazing!
Pamela Brissette
Beautiful venue, Most seats are going to give a great view of the stage. Plenty of opportunities to grab a drink from the bars or the cocktail staff going up and down the aisles. Restrooms are downstairs but there is an elevator for anyone with disabilities. Very friendly, helpful staff at The Squeeze show I attended.
C C
Was very impressed at the sound quality. If you are looking for concert ticket, I would strongly suggest Mezzanine level of available, seats were still quite close and upstairs away from the general crowd. The upstairs bar stays pretty quiet as well.
MyFoodie Travels
I attended a church service called Hillsong Los Angeles and it was amazing! I'm giving it 4 stars only because of the awful parking experience.
Kim Smith
This is a beautiful, old, restored theatre in the heart of Downtown L.A on Broadway. If you ever get a chance to see it, definitely take the time to do so, especially if it's for an event/concert. The acoustics are amazing, & there's not a bad seat in the house. We recently perused in to check it out during the Night on Broadway event. I loved seeing all the antique architecture & building materials and style. We went all the way to the top floor, & sat in the back row. We could see and hear the band that was playing on stage as clear as could be,. It was perfect!
MJ
What can I say? World class theater in every way. Truly a beautiful venue and I enjoyed myself very much.
Keith Dowling
This intimate venue is beyond beautiful. I love going to concerts, but it's when you go to venues like this that you experience the greatest shows. Not a bad seat in the house, beautiful decor surrounding you, amazing acoustics, cold beers at the bar, and the intimate quality of a small venue. Don't second guess seeing your favorite artists here, you'll not regret it.
Circe Diaz Gamero
Loved playing in this wonderful and historic theater
Stacey Ashmont
The seating on the main floor is super tight so if someone is late getting to the show the whole row has to stand up to let people get to their seats. In some instances the whole row got up and went out into the aisle to allow people to get to their seats. A huge distraction when you are steadily watching a long awaited show. The lobby is nice. The bathrooms have ample stalls and was clean during my visit.
Michael Elliot
Just a wonderful place to see a concert.
Kenneth Montgomery
Great live salsa music. Fun crowd.
Shu-Zhen Chen
很棒的演出場域❤️So nice !
Joe Miera
My host and I went to see Johnnyswim in concert. This is an outstanding venue with a large bar in the basement and great drinks that are reasonably priced.
Matthew Bergosh
Gorgeous interior, but confusing seat numbering. Park on Olive for easy access and best chances for finding a spot.
Mario J Novoa
Beautiful theater, standing the test of time in #DTLA
Jorge Arias
Amazing theater. With such outstanding artists like Carla.
Joe Olin
The decor of this Building is spot on. Very organized staff and The seats are comfortable. What more could you ask for?
Lavender Simpson
Cece Winans concert was truly Worship and Praise!
Sean Hutchinson
Excellent venue in downtown LA, with great views of the stage even in the balcony. Sound was good, although for rock shows can be a little overwhelming due to the smaller size of the theater. Staff was friendly and it never felt too crowded.
Elena K
Lovely sound. Visiting here Nick Cave and Warren Ellis on 03/10/22 and was sitting on the top. Still great view!
Alexis De Young
Great venue! Gorgeous. Small enough to see the act even seated up high. Sold out show but didn't feel overly crowded. Seats were a bit small for a big girl like me, but not horrible. Would definitely see a show here again.
Steve Mori
the theater was set up on the occasion of the Pornhub Awards of which we were nominated and invited so we lived it in all aspects and environments. The lounge and entrance halls are well-kept and have two parking spaces right next to the hall. Fifth area and dressing rooms are well cleaned and have ample space for all production settings. The bar area is also well structured and well served.
Mark Rothenberg
Comfortable newer seats than the originals, very cool venue, not a bad seat in the house. Interesting downstairs bar, restrooms and lounge area. Parking is just OK--the closest lot was full quickly so we had to park a block away; crossing two streets with traffic signals.
Catherine A. Montgomery
Historical venue that has hosted vaudeville acts, burlesque shows, motion pictures and music acts such as Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Little Richard, Aretha Franklin and Little Steve Wonder.
Attending an event here is like traveling back in time. It is glamorous, with many details: domed ceiling, frescos on wall, chandeliers, wood carved sculptures with lighting, padded lobby seating, wood carved benches. The lounge area (dimmed lighting) on main floor is high ceilings, artfully carved corniches, tapestry woven carpet, street lamp lighting. To the left of the entrance there is another dimly lit lounge with plush comfortable couches, hand carved wood chairs and wood paneling.
The auditorium is just as magnificent. Main floor uses Roman columns, stain glass inspired art, walls and ceilings of Beaux Arts style of the era in which it was built. Draped balcony boxes. And Mighty Wurlitzer organ, 1 of 3 pipe organs remaining in Southern California. You must make a point of looking up here...the ceilings here are a work of art in themselves!
This is a small intimate venue, a perfect place for a live performance. In my opinion, no bad seats here. Any place you sit you have a great view of the stage. I am fan of balcony seats because it raises you above eye level, and allows you to see more of the performance.
It is an amazing example of architecture and history. They do not offer tours of the facility, do if you want to see this venue, best to find a show you want to see. Or join LA Conservancy who hosts an annual summer event, Last Remaining Seats, showing classic films at 6 to 10 historical movie palaces. A MUST for die hard history or movie buff!
UPDATE 6/12/22 Face masks are optional. We were not asked for proof of vaccination but it is good idea to take both. There was no social distancing requirement. As COVID protocols can change, check website, call the venue or consult internet for latest information.
There is no parking garage for the venue. There are several lots within walking distance for about $10 (may be more for other events). There is also street parking, some metered but most parking is timed so check the signs. You may need to drive around, so plan ahead if you decide not to use a lot..
Jeniffer Daggett
Came here for Hillsong Church. It was a beautiful venue and beautiful service. ♥️
Wassim Majeed
O Lord I believe this is the best thing in the west cost …an amazing programs and the good old soul of the west side .
The Golden Days where everything was moving to be better in one shot every year .
Good to remember L.A that days .
Lara Aposhian
Love that there's so much history in this place. You can tell as soon as you walk in. Came here recently for a comedy show. What a great venue to watch some stand up. My seats were pretty far back, but still had a great view. The event itself felt very intimate, too, since it was an old school theater. Not too big, not too small. Park down the street across from the Ace Hotel though.
Jonathan Neal
It’s a classic, historic, elegant theater. The theater and adjoining rooms and lobby make you feel like you are in a 1930’s movie. Quite a pleasant and fancy experience. It was lovely being here for a tv filming. Downtown Los Angeles at its best.
James Andrews
Beautiful theater in a great location to shoot
Christopher Silencer
The seats are tiny people do get ready for that. And get ready to get your steps in if you are sitting up top and have to go to the bathroom. Otherwise, it's got an old architecture still up and it looks cool. So if you're into that then it's dope. So if someone you like is there I'd go, but leave early because parking will sell out quick sip don't show up last minute.
Toyz 89
Theatre looks beautiful and there is good seats in many locations. Good sound
Wil Page
A beautifully done restoration of a great old movie palace. This Broadway gem is a great place to see an event. It is worth it to park a block away, just for the quick exit you will get rather than using the lot next door. Make sure to get there a little early to see all the amazing touches that the theater has.
Karen Gorman
Nice deco theater. Arrive early to be seated upstairs while lights still on. No rail while walking in dark up steep stairs a caution. Tight seats. Good sound and fun. Parking near by.
Lisa Pozo
This is a beautifully restored theater, almost 100 years old. Seats are newer and comfortable, although leg room is a bit snug. Saw a classic Hitchcock film, visited the Orpheum Club where you can enjoy a bite, a drink, a bit of company. Parking is nearby in various lots or on the street.
Cameron Quinn
Beautiful..historic
Shelley Oliveira
All was fantastic, concert hall was beautiful and historic and the sound was great even after a few technical difficulties. It was very cozy although the seats were a bit small and very close together. I wouldn't inagine it being super comfy if you're especially tall. The only negative of the experience was the girl behind the counter, selling the t-shirts, being beyond rude to everyone for touching the products. She should have put up a sign and stopped treating people like 3rd graders. She makes the rating a hard 3. The girl behind the table wearing the pink sweatshirt with her hair up after the Johnnyswim concert let out. Ditch her and get people with better customer service experience. You'll sell more items. 4 people around us left because they didn't appreciate her attitude. Other than that, I highly recommend attending any event here!
Alex Wolf
Theater is historical and nice looking. Seating is pretty tight, much less leg room than an airline seat. Took off a star for the bar, would not give a cup or ice or tap water despite purchasing beers.
Kurt Nelson
Went to see the Romanian national ballet this theater is beautifully restored inside
Claudia Adamczyk
This is such a beautiful theater!
Laurie Ruttenberg
Every show I've seen here has been fantastic! There is exceptional dining in close proximity. Almost too many options for a pre concert meal. I usually uber or lyft, but there are parking lots near to the theater. So glad to have a small old theater with great acts to add to my venue list!
Ms. Vee
Beautiful retro art deco design.
Your view of the stage is good but the seats are small and too close. The sound and lighting are good. The Orpheum doesn't have it's own parking lot or structure. Parking is $$ and downtown traffic is awful.
Juan Garcia
I came here to see Opeth and the acoustic was great. I had middle seats and did not feel like I was missing anything because the seats were perfectly placed. The restrooms and nice and the whole place looks like a fancy theater from the olden times. I will be coming here again for another concert soon.
Marc Schwartz
All the theaters in Downtown LA is quite beautiful. My problem with this run is it was built probably in the thirties and I guess people were a lot smaller there's hardly any legroom I much prefer the Theatre at the Ace Hotel, but hey sometimes you don't get the choice you want to see a band and it's where they're playing.
Rey Rodriguez (Rey Rey)
I photographed an event here recently, and fell in love with this theater instantly. This historical building has a visual mix of classy, artsy, and vintage, with one of the best seating layouts for watching performances. Whether you're coming to watch a show, or just visiting to witness its beauty, make sure you write this place in on your to-do list on your next trip to LA. ~ Rey Rey Rodriguez, The Mind of Rey Rey
steve sims
Classic Los Angeles venue. Intimate, great acoustics (orchestra seats... cannot attest to the sound quality in the balcony). Well run refreshment areas with nicely stocked bars.
Dr. Lockhart
Smaller in real life compared to televised events at this location. Parking is a pain and the lines can wrap around the block. Please make sure not to block the alleys while in line as cars busily use alleys.
Sure there are a few inconveniences like the aforementioned and the restrooms being at basement level down very long stairs. However, the performances here never disappoint.
Earl Richardson
I have a disability with arthritis in my hips and knees. The usher pointed out that I could use the elevator to get to the bathroom quickly!😄 Also, when I discovered that the seats did not have enough room for my leg, an usher made arrangements for me to sit in the handicap space, which gave me much better space for my legs. Good service - great show (SNARKY PUPPY)!😃🤗
Edwin Rogel
Beautiful view out of this venue. Acoustics are decent for a historical building. Great views all around. Staff is great and friendly. Nice smoking section behind the theatre.
Jessica Hersh
Staff was friendly, theater is well maintained overall. Several parking lots nearby ($15-$20 for the evening) as well as restaurants. Just save lots of extra time for traffic. Being downtown does mean that it might take 20 mins to go 2 blocks.
Amanda Do'Urden
What a beautiful venue. Parking around the venue isn't the easiest but it is downtown so that's to be expected. I had the opportunity to see Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution play here with a full orchestra and it was fantastic.
Robert M
I was at the Orpheum for a screening of LA Confidential as part of the Los Angeles Conservancy's Last Remaining Seats series. Every summer, the Conservancy books old movies into the motion picture palaces in downtown LA. Since the series started, the Orpheum has been restored and is now in great shape. Clean, with new seats, a big screen and a decent sound system. Anyone who is interested in the history of LA should see these theaters, and enjoy the movies in a palace instead of a multiplex.
Renette de la Torre
The theater is beautiful inside and out. Even the balcony seats are amazing. Beautiful chandeliers and marble walls.,.old Los Angeles glamour style. Wonderful acoustics also.
Allison Hall
RuPaul’s DragCon 2018 is everything!!!!
Jessica Louise
My very favorite theater in the theater district. You can tell what love and care the owners have put into keeping this historic theater in beautiful vintage condition.
The sound is outstanding for every event, I have been to a range of different events from magic shows, lectures, movie, and music. Each one was pure magic. Visit the Orpheum as often as you can.
Monica Linette (Moni)
For as beautiful as The Orpheum LA is, it's too small and uncomfortable to enjoy any show. It's impossible to get up and go to the bar during a show, without being inconsiderate of your neighbors. Also, they close their bar extremely early. Overall, I would not recommend for anything besides a tour, unless you absolutely have to.
Eric Mallonee
An opulent theater which has been restored to its bygone era magnificence. It is such a wonder to see my favorite artists perform there. My only knock is that balcony seating is excruciatingly cramped if you are over six feet two.
Demetrius greenhouse
Great venue! Wish they would stagger the seats so the head of the person in front of you isn't directly in front of your field of vision. The rows are a little tight too.
Savvi Petti
My boyfriend and I went to the Orpheum Theatre to see Chris Cornell sing an amazing set in 2011. The theatre is gorgeous and the sound was clear. It’s one of my favorite antique style (Beaux Arts) theaters in LA.
Carver Koella
Incredible, beautiful theater.
Weirdly strict staff and rules.
You pay a lot to see a wonderful concert, and you feel like they resent that you deigned to show up and soil the seats.
David Warlick
The Steve Hackett concert was everything I expected it to be. Being the old fashioned theatre that it is, the vibe and the layout were conducive to us old Proggies milling about. The bar and food section in the back was run smoothly and the servers did a good job. Seats were comfortable, but a little cramped for someone over 6 ft. tall. All in all a pleasant experience.
Johnny Wood
A beautiful restored theatre in DTLA. From the beautiful lobby to the spacious theater that is a throwback to the glorious style and feeling of a Broadway theater circa 1920. Don't forget the orpheum room to grab a drink before the show and there's also a lovely bar downstairs. Grab a drink and enjoy the show.
Dennis Dunham
Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. We attended "So You Think you Can Dance", and we loved it. From the staff to the restrooms, it was great. The only problem Was there were no concession stands.
John Houser
What a beautiful beaux-arts, baroque, art noveaux theater! There are lots of events that happen in the theater and it's a great place to watch a performance or see a movie. The bar area could use an update but it's such an iconic theater in LA that just sitting in the main theater is awe inspiring.
Cavan Carroll
It took about an hour to get everyone into the theatre for a sold out show but it was worth the wait for Andrew Schulz.
Mariel Lambert
It's along the busy streets of S Broadway in L.A. where parking is so expensive ($15) if you're going there just for a show. Although now you can take Uber or similar to it riding for a minimum $8+ or ride-along for almost $5 but I can half-fill my tank for $10 that would last a week. So it's really up to anyone to choose what's best. The physical attribute of this building would be considered old but still operational and I'm not sure maybe maintained in somehow I guess.
Natasha Ringblom
Beautiful place that we visited when we were in LA.
Sheila Fike
Nice place, doing well checking for vaccinations, visual is limited in orchestra area if sitting far left or right.
Skyler James Tesi
Small theatre. Interior is pretty, bit not much room to walk around. The bars are very small. The sound was good, but not as good as The Honda Center.
Nellie Fernandez
I was at the Celtic Thunder show tonight Feb 27,2015, which I bought a ticket for in Dec 2014. I had front row (A-5) seat, and the person beside me (A-7) came in drunk with a drink in her hand. She proceeded to drink and shout slur words all through the first half of the show, she spilled her drink all over the floor and herself. She tried to climb over the banister in front of us. At intermission I reported this to one of the officials and asked him to check on it. Two men came down and one of them talked to her, and had the floor cleaned up. She went to the bar and got another drink. She wasn't asked to leave and did the same thing during the second half of the show. I did not enjoy the show as I should have because of this. She also kept hitting the lady on the other side of her. I don't think alcohol should be served at family entertainment shows. She should have been asked to leave. She was drunk when she sat down the first time and you could smell it all over her.She kept swaying in her seat and I thought she was going to pass out on me. Even with all this I did enjoy the show. I love CELTIC THUNDER and have been following them since their beginnings. This was just a very bad experience..
Thank you.
Macdonald Early
The Orpheum Theater is a historical old building however I must say I was disappointed with the supposed refurbishment from the outside it appears all the lights and everything have been replaced however when you go inside you can see that it was just a quick once-over none of the actual fabric inside of the theater itself has been replaced it is all original the sheets are wonderful they are very comfortable and I must say it appears there is not a bad seat in the house parking can be a challenge however overall it's an okay venue to see your favorite band possibly
Don Pearson
A beautiful space! Saw Buster Keaton's Steamboat Bill Junior silent film with live organ accompaniment as part of the LA Conservancy's Last Remaining Seat program -- really excellent!

First time there to watch Boz Scaggs and was very impressed, architecture of theater is beautiful, staff is professional and polite, general area is going through rehabilitation, and I saw no vagrants on the street. I will definitely go back to the Orpheum Theatre !

This is a beautiful theater. It's not huge, so most of the seats are good. Restrooms on the main floor are scarce, so I would recommend using the downstairs ones to avoid long lines.

Shanta Duncan
Had the pleasure of being a presenter at the 5th Annual #HAPAWARDS in Los Angeles. An honor to be apart of an amazing night.
shaz wunder
Woman at "will call" window was aggressively rude. Not sure why she felt the need to make such a snarky ordeal out of giving me my tickets. Maybe her life sucks so she wants mine to as well. Theater is beautiful, she is a carbuncle on its behind.
Venita Williams
Excellent food at this place. The theater has a vintage feel. No matter where you sit, you can see the performance well, as long as everyone stays seated!
Sean
Great event venue!
