Reviews of Royal Theatre
Only been twice, both OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES = Really great time & highly recommended.
Mostly in use as a performing arts venue, the Royal Theatre is owned by a non-profit called the Royal Players. They put on wonderful plays and musicals. I've enjoyed every visit. The theatre is located in historic downtown Benton and it has so much charm and history. I love it!
I was screaming like a baby! Michael Myers outside had me happy and scared. I had so much fun!!!!
Great performance of Heathers! The theatre is broken but in a beautiful way making it very vintage looking. Can't wait to come back for the next show!
So this place gets 5 stars for the friendly people and strong community atmosphere. I like coming here to support friends and a historic part of my home town that I once performed in. The performances are passionate and entertaining. I would rate the building a 1... don't go expecting a renovated theater. The bathrooms were clean. And there is some concessions.
There is so much talented people at the Royal Theater and it very affordable prices for the plays. I always come away very happy to have gone .
Great vintage entertainment experience for the family. We saw "Grease" there recently. Unfortunately, the decision to mask both the audience and the cast made for a poor performance by a very talented cast.
Attended the June 7th performance of “Steel Magnolias “. It was my first time there and I will definitely go back for future plays. The cast did a wonderful performance and we were all getting out our Kleenex at the end. Highly recommend this play.
Royal is a lovely community theater with interesting plays and musicals. Converted from a movie theater, the lobby is small but the seating is comfortable and the acoustics are good. Obviously the quality of the performances varies according to the casting, but it's always enjoyable to support this venue and it is a great outlet for traing young players.
I have participated in many productions there. It's a historical building that was a movie theater that was converted into community theater. To me, it's reasonably priced and good entertainment. By supporting the Royal Players, you help young and old alike, develop their talents as thespians. You just never know how far someone will go; perhaps all the way to Broadway or the Silver Screen.
The Royal theatre is hole-in-the-wall where magic can freely happen. The walls have painted plaster which is falling down to reveal a layer of beautiful brick. The ceiling looks like it's held up by the hopes and dreams of the actors on the stage, but since nothing fell on anyone while we were there I'll say it's reasonably safe (Baring any earthquakes, rough winds or sneezes). It holds about 250 patrons at a time, so purchase your tickets ahead of time. I do hope to return and see another production in the future.
Loved the Steel Magnolia Play. But the theater needs to be cleaned, the floor was dirty, and need to check a couple of the seats. One in our group had her seat just about fall apart on her during the first 15 mins, she was afraid to move in her seat at all. We moved to diffrent seating during the intermission. But other than that it was great.
Very entertaining every time we go. The musicals are my favorite. This is community theater but the shows and ticketing are done in a professional manner. I advise everyone to catch a show!
The play we saw was so good. Will definitely be seeing more plays there in the future
Love the plays they do here. You can tell they put there heart into everything they do. The halloween haunted house they did was excellent(the price was great to).
Great community musicals and plays. Seat needs to be updated as well as sound.
We LOVE coming to the Royal Theater. All great shows, especially the Royal Kids shows!
I was surprised at how unkempt it was. Trash and empty soda cups sitting around. Door open to a a store room with cleaning supplies. Wasn't nice to see, also kids could get in there. Someone should donate some money to replace the old seats. I nearly fell over in a broken one.
The singing, acting, choreography, & stage props were exceptional! A wonderful way to usher in the Christmas season!
Elf was awesome, best community theater I’ve seen in some time.
We saw Sense and Sensibility and thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Wonderful shows at an affordable price. They also have young players workshops to help educate kids about the theater.
Always a lot of fun in a classic venue.
I love this place. The ambiance is very nostalgic. I love it's original everything lol! And always enjoy watching the shows the Royal Players put on!
This is a great place to see live theater with some great talented, adults and kids alike. The building is registered on the NRHP and is great to see also.
Great local theater. You can tell everyone puts all of there effort into making it great
Nice old theater with first class live performances. The Young Player's are great!
Love this venue for watching community plays. Just watched a production of Sweeny Todd that would rival any Off Broadway play.
Incredible local talent, historic venue, beautiful downtown Benton!!
Saw GREACE. First time there. I really enjoyed it!
A theater where my family and I have shared many laughs, tears, and memories. A remarkable building indeed.
Hope they do more plays/musicals
