I went to the opening of the show, and it was so awesome! We got some playing cards and a gift for going to the opening which were really cool. But don't expect that at any of the other shows. The people letting us in were so friendly, and seemed excited to be there. The show was really good, however, I wish there were more dancing and more acrobatic style moves in it. It does have a storyline, which is great, but not as much action as you would think. The outfits and the costuming and the lighting design are over the top and amazing I couldn't believe it! I do miss La Reve but I am glad that they have another show here.! I can't wait to go back in eight months or so, and see if there are any changes!

This show is what a modern day Vegas show is all about!! The music is invigorating, the stage is INCREDIBLE and the actors/dancers are all incredibly skilled. The illusions even astonished me with them ranging from the simple to the complex throughout the show. Also, contrary to some of the negative reviews, the story felt easy enough to follow. It’s pretty clearly narrated and the free programs help to fill in any small gaps before or after the show. The complexity of the production, the large-scale puppetry and the stilt walkers might make this a “weird show” for some but for me it makes Awakening one of the most unique shows in Vegas. Can’t wait to see it again very soon and on my most recent trip it was my first time visiting friend’s favorite show of the four we saw. Go in with an open mind and enjoy Awakening like we did!

Overall: 3.7/5
Like many others, I was struggling with rating the Awakening show. It seems like those who understand Broadway and contemporary/interpretative dancing would like this show a lot more. I am not one of those people so it wouldn't be a show I would recommend. I do appreciate the amazing production, immersive sound system, and choreography though. The incorporation of magic was great as well. The moving stages and crazy costumes gave the show an extra depth. There was one point where the lights were very blinding if you were sitting in the rows close to the stage. I also didn't like the fact that they didn't build in cup holders when they have a bar. The storyline gave Avatar the Last Airbender vibes.
The bar is located on the right once you get your tickets scanned and is before the theater doors. They only have 2 cocktails (mystic margarita and strawberry vodka) for $19 each which was a huge rip off. The drinks were very basic and gave us a bit of a stomachache. The margarita was the better of the two. The strawberry vodka was good at the beginning but it was terrible near the end. I think it's because we didn't mix it well but it was a bit sour.

I had read the reviews before watching so I was going in looking to be slightly disappointed but it was the complete opposite. Many people said they didn’t get the story but I understood it not perfectly but enough where I got the point of it. But my dad on the other hand did not. Might depend on the person and how they view it. Many also said there was no emotion in the characters which I find odd because i found one part to be very emotional for me. The music is great and I felt the dancing was even better. The art and special effects were a 10/10. The only complaint I would give is that the chairs were small and my knees started to hurt half way through lol. Overall I think it’s a great show to take your kids or family!
(Wasn’t aloud to take pictures or videos of the performance but here are some I took of the place )

The best show I have seen so far in Vegas. I loved the new refreshing concept as it is not the same as most of the shows here. The story that is told with the crystals, and dark and light. What I really enjoyed where all the magical tricks, the characters, the details of the costumes, and best add in is the video floor. Further, I could follow the whole story even my first language is not English!!! If you have the chance to go to only one show in Vegas, visit this one. 🤩 at the end you see the awakening of the phenix.

So much that you WANT to admire about this show. The effects, theater, lighting, music are unmatched. Seats are comfortable and much larger than other Vegas theaters. We have it our best shot… but just found ourselves laughing at the plot line and the holes that were to big to be filled by good special effects. We joked that Anthony Hopkins must have either been paid a TON or been extremely drunk in order to agree to narrate this show. Sad to see any show on the stop wither folks leaving early when you no the performers are giving 100%… but not really surprised with how discombobulated this production is.
Emiliano Noriega-Petti
I'll give the special effects five stars. I would also give five stars to costume and set design. I would give one star to the person who selected some of the actors for the performance. Especially the two assistants to the female lead they were absolutely pointless and if anything detracted from the storyline. In fact I have to say that aside from light and darkness most of the other actors even if they were good actors were given absolutely no good stage direction or lines. Apparently the director told the three leads to just walk around the stage for 5 minutes going ooh and ah to fill in the void. I mean you had 5 minutes you could have done some character development.
I did enjoy my experience because it reminded me of watching the end of Sing 2 in person. Aside from the nostalgia the way may not have liked it as much without that in the back of my mind.

This show was spectacular! Saw it on Christmas day and looking at the other reviewers who keep saying that they didn't get the story line/plot, is just pure nonsense. It doesn't take a genius to get the point that there's an imbalance in the world you're immersed in. Too much darkness has destroyed light, but you need both light and darkness to have a balance, which creates the "magic" of hope, sympathy, friendship, love, courage, etc.
Do not allow the negative reviews to discourage you from watching such a visually emersive and stunning show. The musical score is fantastic, the costumes are fantastic, there's the right amount dialogue for a show, as this is not a movie, nor a play. It is cohesive, the preformers ensure that you're not overwhelmed and looking everywhere to understand what's happening. Last year I saw "O" at the Bellagio and I have to say that Awakening is more cohesive, you'll know the story, you enjoy the dance numbers and the visual effects. "O" was disappointing, there was no story, very little acrobatics for it to be a Cirque show and too many things were happening at once that I couldn't decide where to look. There is no bad seat at this show, but i recommend sitting in the middle of any section, that's usually the sweet spot.
This is a show I would definitely repeat, I am glad I decided to get tickets this year, rather than wait for next Christmas.

This was one of the most breathtaking shows I have ever seen. The visual effects teamed with the dancing was phenomenal. The story lacked depth just a bit but the talent and costumes made up for it. They included magic, amazing costumes, sensual dancing at times, and amazing visual effects with lights and lasers. I highly recommend it!
Remalyn Garcia
Such great performers, absolutely amazing light and sound effects! We enjoyed it!
Jannett Mata
I really enjoyed the show. I love how small the theater size is. It makes for a greater experience from any seat. I don't recommend the first few rows for seating. The stage moves, and at times you are unable to fully see what is going on and sometimes the costumes block your view. Overall absolutely stunning show.
Jill Reilly
My family and I saw Awakening and it was incredible! It was the best show we've ever seen. We enjoyed the performances, story, costumes, special effects, and everything about it. I read the playbill before the show and it helped me follow the story. My twenty+ year old sons did not and they had no problems either. Very cool stage and theater. I highly recommend Awakening if you are in Las Vegas! 5 stars!
Chanel Jackson
The show was amazing and very much inclusive!! So many colors, lights and excitement— the costumes were also gorgeous! I would highly recommend and would definitely see it again.
Tyler K
Entertaining, visually exciting, and worth a 5 star review. The venue is on the smaller side with deep stadium style seating making for an in-your-face experience from every vantage point. The music is upbeat and the costumes, puppetry and special effects are insane! There is definitely a storyline that is easy to follow so I don’t know what everyone else on here is talking about. I wish everyone would stop comparing this show to cirque!! Go in with an open mind and just simply enjoy the talented performers, costumes, effects, music, puppets and everything else it has to offer!
Bernie H
I agree with.... "Amazing show. Beautiful stage, great performers, colorful costumes." But the story itself needs tweaking. Bottom line, worth the price of admission
Kara Smith
Amazing show!!!!! One of the best I’ve ever seen! This is a must see! Can’t wIt to go back and see again. Costumes, dancing, light effects were all incredible!!!
Amanda Renner
I attended on a Wednesday night with zero idea of what to expect.
What a spectacular performance! The costumes, choreography, stage, everything! This was a fantastic example of when all aspects of the technical team and designers understand the visions and come together to tell a fun story!
The magic integration was flawless and didn’t feel disruptive to the story. The storyline was simple but if you’re looking for a deep script, go to Broadway. This was a great, modern Vegas spectacle and will highly recommend it!
Brittany Hinze
I was surprised with front row tickets last night and can’t say enough positive things about show. 1st off the set design was gorgeous with all the different levels & transitions. I’ve seen every Cirque show and was in awe. 2nd the costumes are truly magical and inventive. The different textiles used to create such a visually stunning garment is unlike any other show. My fave was the under the sea set. 3rd the actors-their expressions and choreography was impressive. I genuinely felt their emotions. I know La Reve was amazing but you’ve got to see this new show! Hands down my favorite right now. I want to go again.
Will Witner
It was always going to be a difficult task to follow Le Reve with something different, but on the same level. And in that respect, Awakening doesn't hit the mark. But that aside, without trying to compare it to what was, Awakening is a good show! Notice I didn't say great show, but I don't think they are far off from having something great. The tech is there, the concept is there.
Where the show falls short is the story writing. In my opinion, the story fails to make the audience feel true peril because the "battles" are won too easily. I know they have a lot to fit into an hour and a half, but truncating each of the scenes makes it feel like a speed run rather than a full, challenging quest that the audience can get fully invested in. The main character is never "on the ropes" enough, so the conflict feels very fake.
The score and sound design is excellent, and the seat speakers, while not ideal, are not noticeable once the show starts. They definitely need to stop piping in applause though. It makes the show feel cheap and takes you out of their world multiple times.
With a little reworking, I think they will have a show that is worth seeing. I look forward to seeing it again once some changes are made.

I was so excited about staying at the Wynn and seeing this show. The room price came with two tickets and Purchased three additional tickets @170.00 each. That being said, this was the most confusing, expensive waste of time that I have ever experienced.
Visually the show was amazing but the story was weird. I would not recommend this show if it were not free.
April Argenas
Unfortunately we only got to see the first 45 minutes of this show as at that point the show stopped with technical difficulties… the costumes were very cool along with the dancing. However it seemed as though the creators focused solely on the audio/ visual aspect, but the story didn’t get enough attention… very confusing and the story needs to be better developed.
Brooke Richards
This show is absolutely amazing and I am so impressed the Wynn is able to take on and promote art on the next level. Anyone with a more sophisticated understanding of production and what it takes to create what they did will definitely appreciate and be blown away by this show.
Every bad review I am assuming is from the average Vegas Tourist who thinks every show is Cirque and all amazing skills are from doing acrobats. I get that if you don’t get to see a lot.
If you are from entertainment however, and understand not all great performing art is acrobats and Dance tricks (which I can appreciate) and can enjoy other genres of performing arts you will love this show.
The stage, lights, and puppetry are the most amazing things I have ever seen and again can’t believe what has been created.
I also read a comment about the dancers not being great when hello they were keeping choreography on a moving glass stage?!!!
If you can appreciate production you will love this show. If you don’t get exposed to much, yes it is not cirque or some burlesque show and not the show for you.
solmaz sayyadi
This show was breathtaking ! It was a completely unique experience , like nothing we’ve ever seen before ! It’s very fast paced and there is so much happening in every single scene that I’m considering seeing it again ! It’s funny cause we went to KA the night after and all the scenes were so dragged out that we were all bored out of our minds !
Best money spent ! Ignore the poor reviews and go watch it
David King
Saw this on New Year’s Eve, I really don’t get the negative reviews? The story of light and dark was pretty easy to follow and reading the synopsis in the included show guide set the scene.
The production was simply brilliant, a must see while in vegas. The performers were all 1st class.
midge swinney
Just saw Awakening. Show was fantastic. .if you pay attention, read the show program you should be able to follow it. Nothing negative to say about it. Would highly recommend.
Evros Kavazis
Possibly the best show I have ever seen. An absolutely perfect combination of a Great story, Narration, Costumes, Music, Dance, Light-effects.
Mike Smith
Production quality was really good! The stage was really cool. Lights and special effects were great as well. Definitely worth checking out.
CMD
This is a visually stunning production, but lacks a plot to the story and emotional connection to the characters. With the comments I’m hoping they tweak the story a bit to connect better. If still go see it fir the visuals, lighting and effects, but don’t expect the same feeling as Le Reve.
Dannon Matthews (danos)
The seats were amazing and uniquely fitted with an individual sound system. 360 seating, perfect views from everywhere. The sights and stage design, the narration, the lighting, and sound. In my opinion the best use if my time thus far in 2023.
Jce Ani
It was actually pretty good! I loved the effects. There were parts where it was AMAZING, but then there were parts where it was like.. boooring. But overall it was pretty good. You don’t have to sit close to the stage because you can pretty much see everything anywhere you sit.. but i guess what makes the difference is the location of your seat.. if that makes sense. The seats though were uncomfortable lol i feel like i was sitting down so stiff.
Thomas Hall
Awakening was spectacular. It was a merge of dance and LED’s and lasers with amazing costumes. The story line was something to follow with the program book that describes in detail the expected events. Exciting to see so many visual things to focus on, from the many exciting dancers to many hanging fixtures and LEDs to complement the scenes. The rotating stage floor was a complete LED screen and was an integral part of the show. I was so lucky to meet a few performers out front after the show.
What a great show. I will go again.
Adi M
This is visually the best show I have ever seen IN MY LIFE! Just. WOW!!! The performers, lights and this crazy staaagee?? Go see it!!
Tinh Vo
This is like Avatar The Last Air Bender turnings into a Vegas show. Stage special effects are mind blowing which definitely requires a super expensive tailored stage to make them look believable. I took my non- English speaking parents to the show and they still kinda understand the story. I don’t know how so many reviews say the story is confusing.
Danielle Kennedy
Show was superb, left feeling super impressed and inspired but I feel the story needs a little tweaking and could be simplified to make the experience more enjoyable for everyone
Angeline Harmon
We brought the kids to this show. For them it was fun. They preferred MJ One to Awakening but only slightly. We sat on the second row from the bottom. This is my new favorite show! I never felt like when is this going to end. I was completely captivated and in awe. Incredible costumes, dancing, battling, movement and the story line was easy to follow if you listen. They really seemed to pick the best to perform. They also interact with the audience which was super cool. Everyone was on their A game and very fit. I will be recommending this show. Absolutely breathtaking!!!!
Victoria Chan
It is a show with dance, magic, effects and tech. Very impressed and mind-blown visually - the lighting, the props, costumes, stage design, choreography, and technology. These all brought me right into the story world, though the storyline was just okay.
Every seat has its own speaker sets which were supposed to give your great 3D audio sounds, but I did not feel much different. Yet, I love that the narrator is Anthony Hopkins whose voice is calm and soothing.
The show is still very new, so unfortunately, many seats were empty. There was not much applause during or after the show which I feel bad about. But I do hope this show will gain more attention and more people will get to know its beauty. It might not be the show for everyone if you are not into magic, dance or fantasy/sci-fi kind of genres. But if you do, you should definitely check it out!
Bill Shepherd
I loved this show. Story, performance, stage, lighting, effects, costumes were all wonderful. Well done!
Tommy Fetter
It's a good show, simple plot, fun and good effects. Alot of puppetry which people are complaining about, but that's what you get for 360% seating. no bad seat so go for what's cheapest.
Chris Diven
Just saw it and it was great. Loud club style music. Tons of dancing, ballet, magic, special affects, etc. And the multi-layer stage was super dope.
snerdface
Stunningly beautiful and well presented. Highly recommend. Costumes were the highlight. Not one complaint.
Ilya Makarov
New show so it will take a while for show to work out a few kinks. Storyline was all over the place and did not have a flow or continuity. Costumes and stage are highly impressive!
Nathan Iglesias
The round stage feels innovative and irrespective of your seat, you'll feel close. They have immersive speakers for each seat that jet out near the side of your head -which I found several times with my head when turning to speak to my party. If you only see Awakening, you'll be impressed, but if you see any other Cirque show, as well, you'll be disappointed. It's fun, but for the high price it left me feeling a bit asleep. Also, the thrown in magic tricks feel very after-thought, and sorta cheapen the experience.
Kyle Christian
I thought the show was amazing! It was nice to see something a little different from the common acrobatic Cirque shows on the strip!
Rowen Luna
I'm blown away, this show was absolutely beautiful. I don't understand all the negative reviews. It had a really good storyline and it was visually stunning.
Sab
This show was absolutely amazing. Great performances, stage effects and music. Couldn’t recommend enough!! Bad reviews on here are sleepy olds.
Swee Lau
The venue is small and intimate. Get seats as far away as possible so you have a good view. The show was entertaining enough but does not have the acrobatics that Cirq de Soleil is well known for. I left disappointed.
Julius Bell
Stop reading the reviews, it's an enlightened experience you need to see for yourself. Production, costume, music and dancing was Spell-taculor! If you're a fan of mystical journey like Final Fantasy RPG, then this is the show for you. My girlfriend and I had great seats with an perfect view, will recommend to family and friends.
Michael Levin
Amazing show. Beautiful stage, great performers, colorful costumes.
Carrie
Awakening was an absolutely FANTASTIC show!!!! The way the stage transforms, the sound, the performers and story behind the performance was ALL wonderful!!!!! Every seat in this theater is good! I highly recommend!
Cody M.
Awesome show! Truly impressive effects, lighting and costumes
veronica manning
I went to opening night and it was absolutely incredible. There's just nothing else like it
Mikey Manfs
Production was top notch. Narration was great. Speakers right in your ears to immerse you into the show.
Roberto Garza
I came here to add a bad review and saw all the one stars review.
I mean the show is bad but its not one star bad lol.
I would say its definitely not to the level of wynn but it looks like after the pandemic everything at the wynn has been getting worst and worst.
Dawson Mullen
The performers’ energy and innovative tech make this show the best in Vegas! Shoutout to the lighting team and Brian Tyler’s score. Incredible!
Victoria Rendine
Saw this recently and wow it was AMAZING!!! Extremely talented cast and crew, the visual and physical effects were phenomenal. Highly highly recommend!!
Bianca Ibet Rodriguez
First of all most of the low rating opinions are Wynn employees that got free tickets so see it for yourself. To me the music is great, visual effects are excellent and the actors do an excellent job with as far as the cherography and athletism.
Eric Metzler
Technically amazing production. We enjoyed the show a lot.
Blanca Medina
This show was absolutely amazing!! I could have seen less of the mermaid scene but the rest was awesome!!
Valerie Silecchio
Absolutely beautiful. Talent, effects, costumes, and a crazy stage are all amazing . There’s so much to see. Love it.

Very good show, Will recommend 100%

The people writing less than a 5 star are trippin. The show was awesome. Go see it.
Mikita Zhur
Great effects and stage. Worth seeing, despite the comments from snobs
Michael Levitre
Im looking at everyone's review and have to stay it's not all that bad. I will say a few things
++Please change the 2nd scene this is way to provocative for any child and it should 18+ - come on guys if your doing these scenes made it "Adult only".
Good
1. The stage was impressive with the underwater scene and characters
2. Love that Anthony Hopkins is narration
Not so good
The story line I had mixed reviews and they changes the red hair person alot.

Spectacular
Nicholas Poma
Great show! Very modern and great story.
Richard Blom
Amazing show. Don’t listen to the poor reviews. It’s a stage spectacular not shakespeare. It’s about the music, the stage and the spectacle of it. The theatre is intimate and the combination of music and the moving and disappearing stage really makes this for the visual and aural sense.
If you want simple, then go see Blue Man or a music act. But if you want something you’ll talk about for weeks after go see this one.
Tamela Hunt
If you have not seen this show yet, book it now! Book your airfare and go see it ASAP. We have seen many shows and this is by far one of the best we have ever seen. From the cast to the costumes, the stage, lighting, lasers, production, magic. We will be coming back again! Only complaint is the drinks were so expensive😞 shame on Wynn for charging $78 for 2 drinks!
Ricardo Lopez
Excellent in every way possible.
olena bushtiuk
Disappointed! Oh, we miss Le Reve!!!! The Awakening - it's ok, it was boring and the acting is not the best. I think if the three young characters will talk less and show the story through dancing or just acting, it will be much better! The Darkness character should be younger in my opinion! At the final dance of the show, she looks bad and doesn't complement her partner at all!! The final scene is important!
Nice decorations, sound, and good singing performance. Great job on performing magic!
This show can be better!
I saw all the shows in Vegas and I will not go back to see this one.
Wish you all luck, it's still a lot of hard work there
Michael Uzmann
Marred by a weak storyline Awakening still manages to impress on the strength of its visuals, particularly the underwater scene and rock creature all controlled by talented puppeteers that get lost in the scenery. Reportedly produced for over $100M the ticket prices make sense even though they are excessive, but by Vegas standards the "value" is relative. Narrators don't do the actors any favors, but at least it makes more sense than Ka.
Carl Zeno
I love how the circular theater provides the best view for everybody. The multi-level rotating mechanical stage offers a lot of depth and definitely built to impress.
The show has a little bit of everything and feels like it’s Disney for adults. It’s a visual treat with a cabaret-like performance, but the props and costumes were the real stars. The entry-level magic tricks were cringe. I feel like they haven’t decided which audience they cater to.
With the price, you’re really just paying for the good seats.
Sloan
The show itself is good - visually stimulating there's a real story with dialogue to follow...However, for how similar the ticket price, costumes, stage, and visual effects are to a Cirque du Soleil show...I still prefer and recommend Cirque. Awakening was missing a more impressive element with advanced acrobatics. There were some acrobatics, but not enough to create "wow factor." I enjoyed the venue, but DO NOT purchase drinks here! We were the first attendees in the venue (45 minutes early) because we were scared to get a drink at another Wynn bar and miss the beginning of the show...but we spent $140 of FOUR DRINKS inside this venue (one glass of house red wine, a vodka red bull, a vodka cranberry, and a strawberry sparkler). We were shocked. All in all, I'm glad we saw the show...but after spending $600+ on the tickets, then an extra $140 on the most basic drinks, I would recommend skipping it to most others - go see O, Ka, or Mystere instead! Or, if you're looking for a night out at the Wynn, go to dinner at Lakeside - see the free shows there with dinner!
Liza petty
Awakening is mind blowing! I am so confused at the bad reviews. I literally had chills the entire time. There's an amazing plot. The music is amazing, the actors were incredible. The sets are insane! I can't understand how someone could come up with the set concept. It's narrated by Anthony Hopkins! Sir Anthony Hopkins! The costumes were just incredible! The design behind this whole production is genius level! There's magic infused with the production and there is puppetry that is super cool! I was blown away and I hate that there weren't many people there. I'm glad I got to see this show. I hope it starts getting the support it deserves.
ADRIANA MEDINA
I enjoyed every minute of the show. At some point, I believed I was underwater, with costumes, light, special effects, and sound.
Magnificent, well done.
I highly recommend it. Don't let the reviews discourage you. The show will take you to another world.
Amber Aiello
This show was absolutely magical. Everything from the costumes, the dance talent, the costumes, the staging and the beautiful theater. I have lived in Vegas for 20 years, and this is by far the best cirque show on the strip. Some cirque shows are very abstract. This search show had a narrative that you could follow and a storyline that was moving. it is definitely a must see!

(Translation) I read bad comments, most of them are for the comparison of the previous one. I did not have the fortune to see it so I only have a single perspective of the current one.
I do recommend the show, it has a bit of everything, magic, lights, dances, and a plot. My favorite scene the deep water one. But I still loved everything! It's worth it... don't compare, it's a different show, give it a chance and just enjoy it.
(Original)

(Translation) It is the best show I have ever seen in my life! Don't miss out $$$$ don't pay for the last row, it's the same experience one cost level down and you can save a little.
The Phoenix bird didn't come out this time 🤔 but the ocean scene is spectacular.

Es el mejor show que he tenido la oportunidad de ver en mi vida! No te lo pierdas $$$$ no pagues la última fila, es la misma experiencia un nivel de costo hacia abajo y puedes ahorrar un poco.
