Reviews of Music Theater Heritage (MTH THEATER)
Hollie Begotner
We attended Man of La Mancha and what an amazing show! The intimate setting and minimal set design really helps to showcase the actors talent. The cast was outstanding and their performance was superb! This was our first experience at MTH and we had a wonderful time.
Ruthie Becker
We had so much an amazing night last night, at MTH and saw WHO's Holiday, the acting superb and an all around good time. !!
Dawn McMannama
I enjoy this theater. It is very intimate allowing you to feel more immersed in the production. I've seen Cats and Oklahoma. Both were well done.
Jarod Grobelny
Watched the Quixotic Cirque Cabaret here and had an awesome time. Loved the small theater ambience and how close we were to the show!
Eddie Canis
They expanded and have two theater. Covid 19 with mask and card required. A must because of how small the playhouse is. There not a bad seat in the house. The actor are top notch and it fun watching how the handle the small stage
Dan Durig
Saw the Buddy Holly Christmas show. It was very entertaining and well done. It offered a nice twist to a buddy holly tribute. The average age was obviously older but we brought our Freshman high schooler and he seemed to enjoy it. This is good for any musician or fan and even helps to get you in the holiday season. I have not seen the standard show but those with us had and they thought it was a bit better than the regular show. Very talented group of musicians and entertainers. The theaters are very nice with a bar and snacks permitted in the theater. They plan ahead for intermission and you can prepay for another round and they will have it waiting for you. Very friendly staff and quick as well. Parking os free at crown center on the weekends after 6pm so no meed to worry about that. Finding a space at Christmas maybe but on a regular night not at all.
Dick Williams
Have enjoyed many shows at MTH in Crown Center. The theater is small so every seat is a good seat and performers and audience connect easily. Free parking i the garage adjacent.

MTH is The Place in KC to experience the energy of Broadway! The latest rendition - Company was 2.5 hours of fun-loving, spontaneous laughter, live entertainment with a pianist that absolutely carry's the show from its highs to its lows. Feeling Alive is how you feel when you get the chance to experience the wonderful talent and music at MTH.

Local theater, talented cast that perform a range of Broadway theater and musicals. Not a bad seat in the house, and affordable ticket prices, especially for season tickets. I love hearing the history behind the making of the show's before each performance. Bar and yummy snacks available for intermission. A must for KC theater goers!
Pamela Brown
I went to the theater last night abd truly enjoyed the performance of the instruments, soprano and contemporary dancers. They were all fantastic.

Saw, a night with Cole Porter, the cast was very fun! Definitely kept me entertained and the people who work there are nice. Pam made getting tickets easy and the greeters had my ticket in hand and we're waiting for me. I would go back. Wished they did more than singing.
Kathleen Fasone
Saw "Next To Normal" last night at the Musical Theater Heritage in Crown Center. Wasn't sure what to expect but this is a must see. Absolutely moving. The cast is just stand-out and brought so much to the show.
Music is amazing. To experience this caliber of a performance in the setting of the MTH is so rewarding. Do NOT miss this one!

Cats was the best surprise of all the productions we have seen at MTH. Wonderful, moving, best production of Cats I have seen. How could such a small cast have done this? And where did all the talent come from. Actors who sing, dance and play instruments.....and act!!! We were in tears at one point. Thank you all for a great experience.

Best value in Kansas City for those who love musical theater. Four shows per year plus Musical Monday's and Tuesdays Too, cabaret style performances in a theme. Small theater, so no bad seats. They have a bar and encourage taking drinks into the theater to enjoy during the performance. It tends to be chilly, recommend dressing in layers.

Went to the Quixotic Cirque Cabaret show. Enjoyed the theater, just the right size. Thought the production was very well done. The only negative is that it was very LOUD. My wife finally had to leave and go sit in the bar area to get away from it. The bartender asked her if she was out there because of the volume. When she said yes, he told her that he has heard that complaint before.

I really enjoyed this theatre, small, cozy, audio is good and easy parking. The only bad thing I would say is that for elderly people I don't think the seats would be too comfortable. We saw "In the Heights", great production and I really liked that I was able to see it in a theatre like this one because the vibe was on.
Jim Gerlt
What a marvelous experience! Small enough to feel intimate, yet large enough to feel the enthusiasm and energy of the audience! The only live theater in KC providing Musical Theater Hospitality! Musical Monday's &:Tuesday's, are a must see.

I just read the review in today's K.C. Star PREVIEW and am thrilled to see that someone else agrees with me about this wonderful production of SHE LOVES ME! The talent was exceptional so congratulations to Sarah Crawford on both her casting and staging AND to the tremendously talented cast of performers. Also glad that the review included the magnificent Jeremy Watson and his seven-person bad. Watching Jeremy play the keyboard is a show within a show! BRAVO MTH!

The wife and I received tickets for Next to Normal and were hesitant to attend because of its subject matter, but were we blown away. We left with tell-tale sign of tears on our cheeks. If you are hesitant to view Next to Normal don't be, it truly is amazing.
They know their audience, they know their strengths, and play to them well. They serve some food and beverages, including alcohol, but we had just came from dinner so i can't attest to quality but price was reasonable. The performance hall is intimate but still large enough for loftier productions and we look forward to another show.
Sidenote: If you come wearing a mid thigh or knee length dress, blankets are available, at no charge, at the beginning of the show so be sure to grab one if you are cold-natured.

Singers were fantastic!! The band was magnificent!!
The fog was so thick I got a headache. The lights the actor's held as a spotlight hurt my eyes alot

Never been to a an actual theater before and it was the best experience. A few years back I had come with a friend to see Evil Dead and it was great! Can't pass this up when coming thru KC when ya love real theatrical and musicals.

We are season ticket holders after we had gone to several individual shows and were blown away. MTH is located in Crown Center not to far from Union Station. Crown Center is easily accessible with a attached parking garage. Great shopping and restaurants in the center and nearby. So - grab a bite to eat and then treat yourself to a wonderful afternoon or evening of spectacular entertainment. Although KC Symphony, Lyric Opera, Quality Hill Playhouse provide excellent entertainment MTH presents musicals at a very affordable price that rivals other venues and in many cases exceeds all expectations of theater attendees. MTH also offers, to a limited number of travelers trips each year to New York, London and Portugal. So start small and attend one their shows and I guarantee you will be hooked. There also in the theater a fully stocked bar and many appetizing goodies for those who simply want to forgo dinner.

I enjoyed the Elvis tribute very much! The food was excellent and even with the theater being short staffed, the service was excellent! I'm so happy MTH has reopened.
