I was there for the end of the year office get together. Once you first walk in, prohibition bar and scenery is very nice. Bar is upacale and so are the people. We were able to see two shows. The shows were amazing. It's definitely something anyone would love. People flying in the air etc. The actors and actresses are so funny. Bar is awesome great music as well. The only downside is the food. It wasn't horrible but I felt it was extremely over priced and I believe there is probably a catering business they used. The food did not come at hot. Again this isn't something I paid for it was a business occasion. Service was great. Very professional and fast. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 was the food. Other than that great place to take your team.

We had such an amazing time at Prohibition! My husband and I saw the jazz age show - wonderful mixture of old and modern and a perfect combination of burlesque and comedy (with the talented Ernest Hemingway & F. Scott Fitzgerald)! The service was wonderful, there is a great selection of craft cocktails and the food was delicious. My favorite cocktail was El Beso, served nextdoor at the bar, but You Had Me At Hibiscus was also great. I had the short ribs and salad, while my husband had the market fish & soup (redfish and chicken & sausage gumbo while we were there). Both were excellent. The theatre is beautiful, small & intimate. Not a bad seat in the house. The photos don't do it justice. I've already been recommending the show to friends and family. We'd definitely love to come back. Thank you for an amazing evening Prohibition Supperclub & Bar!

First time here for Happy Hour. 50 cents oysters! You can't find any better deal in town. The ambience was awesome. Will try the show on my next visit. Parking sucks!!! I was 3 min late to get my car and end up getting a $30 fine!!@ factoring the fine, the oysters ain't that a good deal...lol.

Entertaining, and I don’t have complaints about the dancers or the host. The host was very entertaining and kept the crowd engaged and laughing. The girls all executed their routines well and looked like they were having fun. Kinda wish the lead dancer wasn’t so much skin and bones-not hating on her, just not what I think of as a burlesque look. I think of sexy, sensual curves.
Anyway, the food was less than amazing. I would not even say it was good. I wouldn’t give a bad review based almost only on a meal when what you are going to see is a show, but after dishing out close to $400 for 2 people, I am left wanting. If the show alone had cost that much, and no Dita, we would have passed. But since you have a meal and drinks, we thought it would be worth it...but still wasn’t.
The picks are of the audience since there are no photos allowed of the show. If you tell them it is you birthday or anniversary, plan to get on stage!

I had the best experience here! Not only that the theater was absolutely gorgeous, we had the most attentive server! Chris helped us enjoy the show even more by making sure that our drinks were filled and ensuring that we had everything that we needed! The show was funny, sexy, beautiful, and everything in between! I was a little hesitant whenever I first heard about it, but after hearing the comments from friends, they said these performers were actually talented! They were! Their vocals were angelic, they danced so professionally, and they impressed me very much. There's no doubt about it that I will be coming back. Thank you so much for a great time!

One of the most unique places in Houston. Burlesque shows, Latin nights, great decor, well dressed business professionals, craft drinks, original plumbing, and elevator access to the Conservatory! Jonathan is my bartender typically, but all of the staff is simply amazing and entertaining! Some of their drinks are so entertaining to watch being made, - fire torch, and bunch of utensils are usually involved. Highly recommend to all of the visitors who want to experience something historic, unique, and unforgettable experience!

I’m obsessed with raw oysters, when I saw someone posted a review in my community FB page, I told myself I have to try it. Convince my boyfriend to take me here. The first time was so disappointed, they were closed for private event, we left with empty stomach and had already paid parking for 2 hrs. Second time, we made sure that they are open for public before we made our way there. Got 2 dozen raw, and 3 dozen of 3 different filled oyster. They were so good and fresh. I can eat at least 3 or 4 dozen of raw oysters (simple with Tabasco and salt) and I’m a happy. I’m drooling while writing this review. Their happy hour sangria is really good, my boyfriend doesn’t like mix drinks much but we almost order the second one if I didn’t have to go back to work.

I'm obsessed with oysters so of course I love this place. The employees are amazing and always super friendly, attentive, and fast. I have never attended a show in the theater but the bar is magical on it's own and the bartenders are more than wonderful.
Michael Benissan
I was here to see a burlesque performance that was excellently produced. The audience was fun, and cheered on the performers who appeared genuinely excited to entertain. One act involved a performer hanging from the ceiling which was breathtaking.
The atmosphere in the theater switched to disco music after the show. Some people in the crowd had even dressed up to represent that era of music, so it may have been previously advertised. We stayed for a few minutes before walking out to the bar area for drinks. It was relaxing to enjoy my drink in a softly lit ambience while chilling in a comfortable couch. My experience here was overall great!

We had an amazing time .Drinks were fabulous, the staff was attentive and super sweet. We went for the show and really enjoyed the dancers. They were truly professional and the MC was so funny. A great place for a girls day out!!

B*tches Who Brunch is a great spectacle for those who want to have a great time and spice up their brunch experience. The food is really good and the drinks are moderately priced and enoyable. Much better than being surrounded by preppy girls on a Sunday afternoon
Michelle
The place is amazing with a lot of historical value. The show was quite entertaining. The ladies were beautiful and the hosts were super fun too. Cocktails were absolutely perfect! Only complaint was the food... for how expensive it was it was subpar.. but I will be back for sure.

Loved, loved, LOVED IT!!!! It was our first experience at a burlesque show, and it was wonderful! The dancers, and hosts, of the show were so talented. We were there to celebrate my 40th birthday, and sat front row. Front row is literally by the stage. We weren't that crazy about the menu, but you are no longer required to order. We did have a starter salad, and it was a huge portion. I just found that trying to eat took away from watching the show. We look forward to visiting again!

It is a great theater, interactive with the kiddos, decoration is glamorous and retro. My son loves going to see the plays and meeting the actors after in the restaurant/bar next door. Brunch/lunch next door has many varieties and lots of beer options too; making it a cool brunch for parents and fun for kids. There is also retro arcade games.
Hank Greer
OMG, everyone should go at least once. It was amazing. The food, drinks and especially the show were top notch!

Beautiful theater! Amazing burlesque @bitcheswhobrunch! The buffet however is NOT worth $32!! Cold over cooked chicken, veggies not cooked all the way. Cheese tasted left out and old. The Old fashion was very good and mimosas were large. However, we did not get asked once of we wanted another drink.
Vinaya Beveney
Ooooooiiiii!!! What an awesome experience!!! BUT I’m all about a good deal. I’ll tell you about the experience and you decide what fits you.
So, Hubs bought tickets for our date night to the burlesque show. The show itself?! TOTALLY worth it!!!
There are two seat options for the Moonlight Show.
A few up top on the Mezzanine. Then tables of four or two on the bottom floor where it’s most interactive. There is a cost difference though. We had table 702 (on the ground floor) with another couple that we didn’t know. (Sometimes it’s nice to branch out and meet new people.)
Meals are a $45 minimum, with salad and dessert included. Drinks are not included and are about $10-$15.
They have rules for each section:
The mezzanine (upper level) is considered VIP (although I found this less immersive that the ground floor seating). You have to purchase the whole table (comes in tables of 2 & 4) along with a minimum of ($200 or $400)
The Ground floor was where we sat. You are required to order dinner. ( Ranging from a min.
~$45 to ~$65). With the minimum required at the Mezzanine level, I would probably suggest this seating. I typically tend to be one that wants to be part of the audience but it was fun being part of the show, once in a while. You basically spend Mezzanine level pricing, in the ground floor.
Drinks were great! Food was subpar for the price, but don’t be a jerk. Tip your wait staff appropriately 15% for avg. service and up or down from there. Hubs was still hungry so we had to find food afterward but we’re already looking forward to going again before we leave Houston.
All in all, it was worth it! Although I personally would have enjoyed something a little more raunchy (some people may think it’s perfect). Read the requirements for each section carefully, but go in with and open mind and ready to have fun either way!

Great happy hour. Can't beat the 50 cent oysters. They have at least two types of grilled oysters and raw oysters to choose from. Had this old fashioned pictured below. It was great. Sweeter than the traditional old fashioned due to the type of whiskey used ( pictured below).
Pushpa Shenoy
Great burlesque show, good seating, very nice wine
Funny host and mc too
Definitely come back
Sharonda Williams Tucker
The brunch was a little pricey but was awesome! The show was okay. There was an aerial artist which was really different and fun to see.
Lauren Sedlar
Nice variety of cocktails, wine, oysters, appetizer, and entrees. Classy ambiance and a romantic setting.
Salvatore Bosco
Oyster specials, incredible Burlesque shows, and really great happy hours. Get the oysters for 50 cents.
Ryan Jacobsen
I love all the shows they have here. Looking for a Sunday funday? How about brunch and mimosa deals. This is your place!
Cassie Rigsby
I've been to two shows and both were fantastic. The theatre has a great vibe. The drinks are pricey but worth it.
Joseph Mouton
Everybody was so awesome... from the hostess to the bartender! Best brunch ever!
Ashley Woodford
This is our favorite place! The food is “meh” but the atmosphere is amaze-balloons! Go to the late show, so you don’t have to order food, and you’ll be great!
Gilbert Chen
Our first time here! Had an amazing dinner with the family at this unique restaurant. Great music, great food, and awesome performances! Food and drinks were amazing, along with our server Chris, who recommended our evening meal. He was very attentive and on point with serving our drinks! Will definitely return and request for him!
Tevfik Sertel
Great show, decent but not great food and quite a good selection of cocktails.
They have rotating shows and we went to see the one named Jazz age, which was spectacular. The ambiance and acting were great as were the performances.
If you like burlesque, this is a great place to have a good time and get some cocktails.
Regena Collier
Great show. Good drinks. Pricey but entertaining. DON'T get the asparagus for $12. There were 5 miniature spears and we were supposed to be able to share. 🤔 The Punch Bowl was expensive but we enjoyed it with our party of 5. …
Milena Connally
Amazing show! Went to a Bathtub full of gin and it was incredible. It's probably one of my favorite spots in Downtown Houston. Great for dinner too with their delicious grilled oysters- a must try. Prices are very reasonable and atmosphere is wonderful, great service too. Can't wait to go back!
Melody Li
Went there for a salsa live party, with bands playing on stage and lively dance crowds. The place is interestingly converted from an old theater.
Christina Hall
The show was one of the best I've been too, I loved it

Came here recently for a double date night with my friend and our significant others. It was my second time here, and for everyone else, it was their first. The show was entertaining and very creative, the food was good, and the drinks were strong (in the best kind of way). Our server, Chris, was fantastic and made the night even more enjoyable. He was friendly, attentive, and did everything with a smile. Even with a sold out show, and a room full of customers, he made us feel like a priority and I hope I get him as a server next time I go!
Rachael Williams
Great show but the sound system is loud enough to hurt your ears and not in a good way. Performers are very provocative and very skilled at entertaining the crowd. Host is hilarious and makes the show one of the best I have attended. Drinks are overpriced and bar service only is the big drawback besides the poor audio quality.
Anna Huynh Fernandez
Katy was excellent! We were the first to be served at the show. My table got their salad, main course, dessert, and check before anyone else. She was very attentive to servicing us in a timely manner without having to ask. She just knew when we were done with our course and ready for the next. She kneeled down to pour my water. I appreciated that since other waiters in front of our tables didn’t do that. So I had to miss the show or look around them. Thanks for being so informative about the menu and the brunch, Katy!
Russell Roy Tritico
Great food and the best cocktails! Nice vintage atmosphere.
Stephanie Tran
Love this place! Hosted two birthday parties here that were phenomenal! Chris, our wonderful server, truly showed us Southern hospitality by attending to all of my guests' needs and answered any questions we had beforehand in terms of the dress code, burlesque club etiquette, and how the menu works. Great service, great oysters, and AMAZING show!!!

I was looking for a new date spot for an elegant evening out. This turned out to be the perfect place for that! I have been wanting to attend a burlesque show here since it was in the Galleria, however I am glad I waited until it moved downtown. The seats fill up fast, so buy your tickets and reserve your seat a couple weeks in advance. I waited until only a few days before the show, the 7pm show was sold out and there were 2 tables left for the 9:30. The tickets include dinner and the show, you are required to buy the prix fixe dinner. The first and third course are pre-determined, but you get to choose between 3-4 options for the main/second course. I emailed ahead of time to make them aware of my dietary restrictions and they were accommodating. The food was quite good, the drinks were even better, and the show was great. I was captivated the entire evening and did not mind sharing a table with strangers one bit. It is done with class and is not very risque, which was a little disappointing but still entertaining. The attire is dressy, men should wear a suit. I would recommend this place to a friend and will go back to see the other show on Friday nights.
Allison Nakahara
My boyfriend and I came here for a date night. We both really enjoyed it as it was our first time here. Loved the show and the food was great. We had Chris as our server and he was awesome! You’ll be lucky if you get him as a server!
Emir Hinojosa
Service was excellent! The show was fantastic! The wife and me enjoyed our parents night out with something that was definitly different than what we usually do. Drinks were of a very high quality, the old fashioneds were crafted perfectly. My only complaint would have been the prime rib, while flavorful, the texture was a bit too mushy. Overall, a wonderful experience.
Dan Harbeck
The show was pretty good. I was definitely entertained. The problem was the food. If I am going to be charged $65 for a prime rib I'm ok with it but, it should be one if the best I have had. It was just ok. For fine dining prices there should be more flexibility. The service was mediocre also. At times the server was on it but then other times I had to wait too long to get another cocktail. You would think they would be all over the cocktails given the margins they make on them. The women and show were stunning the service and food were not. They need to hire true professional wait staff for the price tag they are charging. If they would make it a truly special night by providing service that is second to no one this place would be pretty great.
Raquel Gaytan
My best friend and I attended a Sunday burlesque show, B*tches Who Brunch and we had an excellent time! The food was great, a range of oysters to French toast for brunch. The best part was the performances. All of the ladies, including the host were awesome!
Jeroen Grouls
Went to the Saturday Jazz Age show. Was dinner and a show. The show was excellent, funny, and provocative. The drinks were good for the cost. The food... it simply didn’t justify the 45$ per plate. It just wasn’t impressive or well cooked. Would I go back? Sure, but I wouldn’t be going back for the food
Russell Monroe
Classic burlesque show. The theater is an old one that is in great shape. The food is good, and the bar in the front has some fun cocktails and great, speakeasy style. The performances are stellar. The hosts are a lot of fun, and the girls are beautiful and really talented. It is a really great, bawdy date night.
TIFFANY OVERSTREET
The show was wonderful. My date ordered the short rib which was very good. I had the fish, wasn't too impressed with that. Hated how they added barbecue potato chips to the dish. Would go back, would also recommend to a friend. Almost forgot, neither of us like the creme brûlée. The Moonlight dolls were all very entertaining! Definitely the place to go if you want to impress someone. Drinks were strong...
Michael Wright
Had dinner and watched the show Provocatour and it was all awesome. The short ribs were rich with flavor and delicious. The performers were very talented and put on a good show. It was an expensive show with the required 3 course meal starting at $45 a person and our front row seats costing $59 each add a couple of drinks and tip your looking at dinner and a show for two costing $300. I would still do it again though just make sure it's a special occasion. Worth the money for sure.
Minh Lam
What a wonderful place for both a show and dinner. Great place to entertain out of town guests. Our waiter, Chris, was attentive and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Drinks were on point. Not too strong, not too weak. Food came out fast and at the right temperature.
This was my first time here and it definitely won’t be the last.
Linda Arredondo
Fun and memorable. Definitely worth a visit if you're into burlesque or interested in alternative nighttime entertainment. If you're the shy type you'll want to take the cheap n seats on the balcony, if you're more adventurous pay extra for the floor tickets where you'll have more opportunities to interact with the performers.
Kristina Hahn
The Friday night Tease the Tiki Burlesque show was our first here - and it was phenomenal. The hosts were hilarious and every table was a great seat in the house, even our $32 dollar seats were spectacular. Miss Vauxdevil definitely stole the show and all the girls had classy dance moves with gorgeous outfits. The aerial performer was mega talented too - I felt like we were in Vegas! For drinks I had the French 75 which was craftily made and at a fair cocktail price. For dinner I had the mushroom ravioli entree which I have to say was delicious. The starter salad was alright and the dessert was a chocolate mousse cup that I felt were both meh. The only reason I did not give this review 5 stars was a few discrepancies. When I purchased tickets, the website said the prefix menu was $35, not $45 like we had to pay. Also I looked everywhere online for the menu beforehand to plan appropriately and even emailed / called / messaged the venue to request it with no response. All I would request in the future is the availability to view the menu options like most other venues have. If you are coming to attend a show, I recommend showing up early and enjoying some cocktails and snacks in their front facing bar which is also gorgeous. Not sure if I would pay to go back to a show again, but we will definitely be back to the bar.
Mike Sturm
I am a huge fan of this restaurant!!! The lunch menu is really good I love the Po Boy and the shrimp and grits are some of the best I have ever eaten. The have a great happy hour and the raw bar is off the chain.I have been for dinner a couple times and it keeps getting better as the kitchen jells. The last dinner I had there was at the Moon Light Dolls show its a fixed menu but the Big Eyed Tuna I had was cooked to perfection. I would recommend Prohibition Supperclub & Bar highly.
Evan Duvall
I ended up coming to this bar for a night cap after a nice night out. The drinks are excellently created, and the wine list is short but good. Obviously this is definitely a cocktail bar, that is tastefully done in the style of an old prohibition bar. Staff does not overly bother you at the tables or bar. Make sure to sit away from the doors left of the bar on the weekends, as when a performance ends a lot of people exit at the same time. The typical dress code is cocktail attire, but there is still a variety of clothing worn by the patrons. Great for people watching, and overall a very great experience. The shows are pretty decent too.
Mark Wang
First thing first, this establishment consist of two sections, one is the restaurant & bar area where you are there for food and drinks respectively. Then there's the theater part which will not be reviewed as I have yet to come here for the dinner show and the prix fixe dinner menu. One of the attraction about this place is the fact that it used to be a real old theater in downtown and they have renovated into something awesome. The bar area gets really packed on the weekends as patrons of Prohibition would usually dress up to come here for drinks and bites. Most of the time you won't be able to find a table unless you get lucky.
The drinks are different from other places and decently priced. The service has been consistently quick. I have tried some of the food here and it is all wonderful. If you really want a fun night out, you will have to book your tickets for the dinner and show way in advance on the website or through the cabaret group's website. Prohibition is definitely a good place for people watching and mingling at the bar. It is definitely a bar you bring your out-of-town friends to have a drink or a bite and if you feel generous, buy their show tickets and make them pay for their own prix fixe dinner portion.
Adriana Torres
1st time seeing the Burlesque show and I loved it! The Moonlight Dolls are beautiful and talented. I was very much impressed and stunned throughout the show. The venue is very nice and will definitely be inviting friends to come! Any vintage fan will enjoy!
SillieXD
Beautiful Bar and show! I've been here multiple times and they still have not disappointed me! The show is very interactive and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Chris is my favorite bartender, he always makes sure my guests are comfortable and enjoying the amazing show!
Lucia Solorzano
Bread pudding and show were hot & good.
Neil Backhouse
I rarely write reviews but felt I compelled to for Prohibition. The show was amazing. It was one of the most entertaining nights out you could hope for. The professionalism and precision of the performers was equal to or surpassed shows I have seen on Broadway or in the West End. The dinner was good, not great, but you’re there for the show not the food. The service was friendly and fast, and there was a large range of drink prices available. Highly recommended.
daniel castillo
This place is great for a different kind of night of drinking with friends or a date. Definitely had a lot of fun during the show. The entertainers interact with the crowd, so if it's you birthday, anniversary, divorce is final beware because you will be brought on stage. So make the most of this place and their events because I guarantee you it will not be forgotten.
Mz Bree (itsMzBree)
We saw Alice! And it was amazing! The show was very interactive and they sing happy birthday to kids celebrating in the audience. They had activities and face painting before the show and a meet & greet with the actors after the show. The venue is beautiful and has a balcony circling the second floor. Get there early for good seats. We were way in the back even though we arrived 7 minutes ahead. They still made us feel included in the show as they walked around the audience performing. Great experience!
Kelly Perez
What an experience! The entertainment was exceptional and the food was outstanding! I didn’t want the entertainment to end!! The performers were witty, sexy and provocative. I cannot wait to go back! The food was hot and delicious!! The Chocolate Bread Pudding...warm heaven of delicious! See you guys soon! Don’t miss this!
Morgan Elaine Githens
Had an amazing time here. The atmosphere is amazing and the drinks were so good! I loved the Moonlight Dolls show as well! I'll definitely be back. If you get a chance, you *need* to see A Bathtub Full of Gin!!
elizabeth arauz
Performers were great! Food was sub par:(
One of the main entrees on the required pre fixed menu was not available. How do you not have meatloaf? It shouldn’t be required to purchase the dinner, especially with such a limited menu. Also one of the signature cocktails was unavailable. Service was good though. Nice place, just some things need to be tweaked.
dave glessner
I enjoyed the show. Lots of extremely fit, good-looking people posing in interesting ways. Some of the show got to be a little repetitious, but it was okay. I especially liked the fan dancer and the girls on the hanging hula hoop.
The food on the other hand was maybe two and a half stars. Everything was closer to room temperature then it should have been. In fact they have a bread pudding and ice cream dessert that when it was served, the ice cream was not only completely melted, it was at room temperature.
L Z
The show was AWESOME! However, the buffet that I was forced to pay for never got replenished & I had only a very small amount of what was left even though I arrived before the show started. $35 was way too much to pay for a small amount of cold food. Besides that, excellent show.
Super Mom
What a beautiful place this is! An old prohibition-time building that is well-preserved and decorated. And what a wonderful show they put together! The supperclub and bar has a very good selection of drinks. In order to watch the burlesque show, you must buy one bottle of wine (or other) for the table--in addition to whatever food/drinks you enjoy during the show. We absolutely loved the tastefully presented burlesque show. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a piece of history and a great show!
Kevin Tietz
We only went to the bar, but want to go back for the Supperclub/show. Wonderful place to do some people watching and the drinks are interesting. Its the type of place that you get as much enjoyment out of watching them make the drinks as you do drinking them. Everything changes seasonally, including the drinks...so you always have something new to try. It's a pricey joint though and that can be a pain if you don't like your cocktail!
Tom Huynh
I came here with a group of friends on a random Saturday night and they were able to accommodate my group of 10 people upstairs for the show. Chris generously took care of our group and made us feel welcomed. Friendly guy. So friendly that he insisted that I go up on stage and strip for the whole audience. 😂I'll definitely come back for a fun and memorable night, but I'll skip out on going back on stage.
Camille Colmer
Revising my previous review. The last I saw the moonlight dolls was on Valentine’s Day two years ago. Not sure if it was THAT show that was particularly mediocre but either way the Dolls have since stepped up both their scripts and their choreography and even added an additional aerialist (and I even think their sound guy might be better now.) Wish I could say the same for the kitchen....though it is no longer required to buy a $60 meal ticket with show ticket (a tasteful decision >.>) I still advise to steer clear of every single thing on the menu.....even DRINKS now, at the bar that used to have the BEST cocktails in Houston are just embarassingly mediocre. If you want your money’s worth get drunk and full next door at Conservatory first....and yes, to get completely into the show you will need a couple cocktails. As for service - waitstaff is mostly on point, bartenders not so much.
Rob Borse
Show was 5 stars. Really entertaining and well done. Food.... Not so much. It's really too bad they require the food and price it like fine dining. Because it's not good. Leathery cool prime rib. Fishy rubbery lobster. Can't say enough good things about the show, though. Great time and highly recommended.
2LOUDMagazine
Great ambiance! Guests showed up dressed in their best 20's outfits and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves...but that's expected when liquor is flowing ;) The drinks are outstanding and the burlesque show was sexy tinged with just the right amount of raunchy vulgarity. The food could have been better. We had a vip section for 12 and our server, Alexander, was fantastic. We ordered the red fish and it was on the dry side and could have used more seasoning. Overall if you're looking for something different to do while drinking we'd highly recommend Prohibition...tell 'em 2LOUD Magazine sent you.

Awesome place. Every time I have important guest coming to town I would come here. But this time I'm more impressed.
The show is amazing now. From the stage set up to the props they created and the fancy laundries the girls are wearing. It's definitely a huge step up in a great way
Form the Last time when I was here.
The show is super fun and exciting. It catches your attention the whole time. I think this is one of the most sexy show in houston.
If you are celebrating special event for your friends and families I highly recommend you bring them here.
I think you will all be leaving with laughters.

Decided to try out Prohibition Theatre on the recommendation of some friends. My girlfriend and I and another couple we are close with choose to go to the Friday night show during December title "Tales of a Hard Nut", Prohibition's burlesque take on the Nutcracker. I must say the show delivered well beyond our expectations. The performers were extremely talented and very athletic; the show featured some acts/performances that you might see in Cirque du Soleil or a similar high profile show. The MC of the show was also extremely witty and made the show a great time, entertaining the patrons between acts/performances and getting the audience more involved in the show.
While at the show we enjoyed cocktails and Prohibition's Prix Fixe dinner. Our table ordered a variety of cocktails, all of which were solidly done. I had seen some mixed reviews of the food but after polling everyone at the table it seemed there were no complaints and everyone had enjoyed their meal.
I would definitely recommend one of the late night shows for a medium to large size group but we saw plenty of couples there to enjoy also. If you want to be more 'involved' or try embarrass some of your friends, you might request or reserve one of the tables at the very front of the theatre; you'll get plenty of clothing tossed at you and the performers will involve you in the show. Overall the show and dinner were fantastic and I'm sure I'll be headed back in the future!

Hard to watch sexy cool performances and get sucked into the show when you have a pushy waitress shoving a flashlight of horrible menu choices right in your face.
I went for the Provocateur show recently. Keep in mind with many of these shows you're paying for a ticket (a seat) of $20ish PLUS $45 per person minimum. It isn't hard to make that happen with some drinks if you're a drinker, but the drinks aren't good at all which basically forces you to buy their $45 dinner to make the cut. While the show was absolutely amazing, the limitations of the dinner meant I couldn't eat the things I paid for because almost everything had a food allergy I have in it. I don't drink like crazy, so basically I paid for a bunch of stuff to just rot on my table. A bit disappointed with all of that and to be fair they do make this price known on their website, and the stuff they made is good from what I could taste of it. Despite that, $65 per person for the show was too much to pay all said and done..
The show was in your face, up close and personal. The performers were fantastic. But I've paid far far less for far more famous Burlesque performers in longer shows and line ups. What really made me just say the place was 'okay' instead of truly liking it was the wait staff. Our servers were VERY pushy to get us to order and make our 'minimum due' amount. In the middle of probably the BEST 2 acts she was constantly in my way, forcing me to order instead of enjoying the show. There was a 5 minute intermission after these two acts where she could have asked us anything we wanted, but I missed the two acts I actually wanted to see because she was so pushy to get our orders and crank them out. She said, "I'll need your order in two songs." Sure. But halfway into the first song she was already back. And she wouldn't leave until I ordered something. It was really rude, and I cannot believe I paid $65 and missed the girl breathing fire right next to me, to watch food sit on my table uneaten, and force my way halfway through a far-too-bitter-and-not-really-what-I-wanted drink. I loved the show, and they made good food, don't get me wrong.. and while I made the best of it I could, I probably will not be back.
Pros: Great performance from the moonlight dolls, swanky atmosphere and feel, the food tasted decent.
Cons: There was literally 2-3 selections of each dish (and only one dessert choice I was highly allergic to and nearly had to leave the show early because I took a big bite of it not knowing) that had common food allergies attached to them, the drinks were horrible, the wait staff was rude and not understanding of people wanting to watch and enjoy the show, and although the show was awesome the amount paid for this whole experience was far too high when I've had such a great time for 1/3 of the price elsewhere before.
Beka Stowell
The show and performers were amazing. The host was great too. But the event staff not so much.
Was watching the show A Bathtub of Gin tonight. During the show an event staff employee hit me hard in the middle of my back with a chafer As they were clearing a private party. The staff try to downplay the issue like it was no big deal. Unfortunately it ruined my special occasion. I doubt I will return again.
Yoshío Pérez
The place is excellent. Their stage is well lit, and the table placement allows for an excellent view of the stage without being obtrusive. The staff was curteous at all times, and the show was very engaging with the audience. The entire place was just classy. Will come back again.
Jennifer Nall
Fantastic atmosphere and laid back. Perfect for any occasion. The waiters are knowledgeable about the menu and the chefs often check in, as well. I've absolutely never been disappointed! I recommend the smoked fried chicken, but be warned-it's a large portion!

Burlesque show was amazing, drinks were excellent, service was spot on. The only thing is, the food was awful... Basic Caesar salad as an app... My friend and I both had the steak for entrees and it was abhorrent (mostly fat in the middle with about 3-4 oz of actually edible meat). The mashed potatoes that came with it were actually good but the green beans were hard enough to play darts with. The dessert shot was good though. Overall good experience but overshadowed by the fact we left a 3 course meal still hungry.
Mason Cruz
Great performance and love the way everything is set up. Really like that you can eat while watching the show. Very entertaining and is great for a night out with friends or even for a date.
Cameron Bates
Great show, but the sound quality wasn't optimized for the room very well. Food was fine, but the rib eye was 20% fat it seemed. I'll go back of course, but hopefully after a menu change.
Matt Putonti
Prohibition is such a great place and an awesome concept. The drinks are great and the food is fantastic. I love the set menu options to make things easy and allow you to focus on the show. The show is fantastic. The talent is top notch and keep you engaged! I will be returning soon.
Kalinda Cook
We had lots of fun very interactive with the audience. Food was smaller sized portions compared to price but tasted good. Dress code states no jeans so made my husband and son had to find alternative when we left table behind us had 2 guys in jeans.
Jason Giddens
This review is very conflicted. I LOVED the show. My wife and I went and had a great time. It's a sexy, artsy, stylish burlesque show. I love the vintage style and the excitement of the show was a lot of fun on a date night.
The conflict is that the food was very dissappointing. It's definately a hotel banquet style service, with I assume a bunch of plates made up under covers and kept on a warm rack. The food was old, dry and the prime rib was well done. The waitress warned it would be over Medium Rare, but I didnt believe it would be this bad,. Luckily we weren't that hungry.
I only gave 4 stars for the show. On food alone it would be 1 star.

Went to Prohibition last night with my husband and his daughter. She came into town and took her there because it was something different and there was nothing like it. They had featured a mystery dinner and I have to say that I was blown away. They had us wait in the bar area where there was a few skits that happened upon our dinner. There were guys and girls going around acting out their part, it helped us be engaged with the whole theme.
After a half an hr or so, they moved us into the dining area to have dinner. While eating dinner, they had the whole mystery event happen all around us. So entertaining! The good was great. It was well prepared and was wonderful. My step daughter couldn't stop telling us that she was having so much fun. I couldnt tell you enough how much of a great time we had. Thank god we have something like this in Houston. You can tell that the owners of Prohibition took great pride into putting this place together and make sure their guest had an experience like no other.
This is a must go to place. I can't wait to go back!

This place feels like walking into a Roaring 20s party. The decor is smashing, dahling, and they have 50¢ oysters for happy hour every day 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Plus, you can get a proper absinthe drip, and I love me some absinthe and oysters. The theater troupe is quite lovely as well. Weekdays or weekends, this place is wonderful.
Skyla Dawn
Went to the moonlight show with a friend for his birthday... great, tasteful show. He got the ribs and enjoyed... I got the the fish not so much, dessert not too great either. Will definitely go back but not for the food. You're paying for the show. I can't wait for the murder mystery show!!

Dinner Theater was the best. Moonlight dolls Eat Me show was very entertaining. The food was VERY good. Very flavorful Short Ribs and Red fish. Highly recommended. Will def go back.

We went in for a drink and ended up staying for the Burlesque show. The atmosphere is very nice and the bar area is very cool. While the dress code is not enforced too strictly it's not the type of place you want to go underdressed. The women are all dressed to impress and most guys are in smart jeans, button downs and even a few sport coats and suits. The show itself is risque and not for anyone too conservative or easily offended.
Destin McIntosh
If you are are not interested in strip clubs but are looking for something a LITTLE resque, this is your place. Great cocktails and delicious food, and a show that you will never forget. Very active crowd when I went, and high energy band and performers. I went for both mine and my brothers bachelor party and enjoyed my visit both times.
Amanda Delafosse
We did the moonlight doll show and dinner for my friend’s bday. I had the best time. Funny, steamy, and talented performers. My husband and I were married at Zoomanity, and prohibition theatre brings that same high quality talent in an intimate environment right in Houston. Definitely will be back for fetish night and brunch. Dinner was tasty and staff was kind and helpful. Thank you for the beautiful evening.
G G
Every visit here is memorable. Such an elegant venue that feels very intimate and exclusive with great food and even better drinks. The shows are so diverse, don't think if you have been once it will be the same next time. It is always different and always such a fun environment. Dress up and make it a memory, you will want to go back over and over.
Chase Dickinson
Just went for dinner and skipped the show.
The cocktails were some of the best I've ever had and watching the bartenders at work was entertaining!
I just got a burger, and it was good. Would like to go back and try one of the other dishes.
Trina Fox
I took my boyfriend as a Christmas present and got the VIP package. It was a wonderful evening. It is a bit pricey, but lovely for an occasional outing. Very adult entertainment and risque, so if you are stuffy or easily offended, skip it. Leah was an amazing VIP hostess.
Conor Bellchambers
Amazing bartenders and drink selection up front, world class theater in the back. Highly recommend you buy tickets to their late night shows. "Fetish" in particular is a fantastic evening of fun and exploration.
Lena Rosendahl
Love this place so much. I come here every chance I get. The food is good, the drinks are amazing, the shows are fun, and the people are lovely. Seriously, if you're not a complete prude, spend an evening here. It is worth every cent.
Carmen A
We attended the 1920's murder mystery event. It was amazing. Everyone was in role and everything made you feel like you were in that era. The food was delicious however there was no dessert. Other than that everything great.

I recently treated my mom to a night on the town for her birthday. I took her out and we got her a nice evening gown, opera gloves and shoes for a night at the Prohibition Dinner Theatre in downtown Houston. We went to the Provacature show, which is a 21st century rendition of early prohibition-era burlesque, and had an outright BLAST! We had the 3-course champagne dinner (which was five-star by the way). Our table was lavishly set with fine linen, silver and crystal and was just off the stage, between the original 1912 Grand Staircase and the original 1912 Theatre stage. The acrobatic act was performed overhead and within just a few feet of us. Now I don't know if it was because we were the oldest couple there; just two of a few of the patrons who actually came in period dress; it was her birthday or we just picked the right table, but we were included in some of the audience participation segments of the show which made the night just that much more enjoyable. After participating in one of the audience participation numbers, we were treated to a couple more performances from the troupe "The Moonlight Dolls", then they got all the "special occasion people" (birthdays, anniversaries etc.) up on stage for one more fun-filled “audience participation number”.
It was just a totally awesome and fun night for the both of us! Although it was a burlesque show, it really was rather tasteful and classy - not at all risqué or trashy like some of those “bump & grind” dives. The entire show was very enjoyable (and the young ladies of the Moonlight Dolls we're not exactly hard on the eyes either). As long as you're a free spirit and not so overly up tight, you will enjoy the show. Be ready for some colorful "adult language" throughout the night though. It definitely is not a place to bring your kids (21+) - or your local "Church Lady".
IAlam
This is the perfect place to have a date with your significant other. The show is spectacular and the dinner was even better. There were even acrobats. Even the service was perfect, our waiter, Chris, was constantly our refilling drinks and attending to our every need.
leslie bergman
Show was great! We had a party of 15 and we had a blast. The only thing I didn't like was the host of the Burlesque show. He was not what I was expecting as far as an old timey host and he cursed a lot which didn't add anything to the persona or show. If they got a new host I would definitely enjoy it more.
Sasha Asheghi
What a surprise! I walked into this establishment for a simple craft cocktail. Unbeknownst to me, it also serves as a beautifully upholstered Boardwalk-empire style burlesque bar. The bartenders are among the top tier in my book, crafting the most delicious cocktails in the area. I can't recommend it enough. Fun experience guaranteed.
Jennifer H
Over I loved my experience here. The show was much more than I expected. The food, on the other hand, was not the best. If I were to return, I would have dinner beforehand or choose a show with no required meal.
Emmanuel Sadberry
The entrance to the entertainment, was my favorite part of the show!!! The show was a bit lack luster, because I prefer a thicker breed of women. The energy there was great, and the show was more funny than sexy. For an hour, it's an ok show.
Mark Goehring
Jenna, was awesome! This place is great. Amazing drinks. If you can't find what you like.......just ask, they will mix up something amazing. Candied bacon is to die for. Love this place! Will return!
Andrew E
OVERALL: Nice ambiance, nailed the Great Gatsby/burlesque interior design, friendly service, good food (not great), cocktails were works of art but cost as much as they look. Would go here again for an appetizer and a couple of cocktails. Have NOT been to the burlesque show/dinner.
Why would I not eat here again? It wasn't bad. It's just that for the prices we paid, we (my date and I) didn't get "wowed" by anything. We did get "wowed" by the presentation and flavors of the cocktails.
One thing I would not recommend getting is the mac n' cheese. They do take reservations.
Kimberly Parker
My husband took me for my birthday last night. I was so excited for this! Sometimes you never know how these things will turn out. Well let me tell you, it was amazing, from the wait staff to the food, to the performers. Awesome, just awesome! Loved every jaw dropping, belly laughing, hootin and hollerin minute of it. This is an experience that I cannot wait to have again. Already making plans for a group of girls to go.
teresa Smith
Went here for our 20th anniversary. Had a great time and dressed up. Great food and entertainment.
John H
This place is awesome all throughout! Great atmosphere, awesome staff (Our server Chris was on point!), delicious food, and the show was phenomenal! You won't get an experience like it anywhere else! Definitely recommend!
Jasmine Tran
Came here for a fun girl’s night out and was blown away! The show was jaw-dropping WOW!!
Our server, #AsianChris, was attentive and just as entertaining as the girls on stage (haha).
The drinks were spectacular and super tasty.
Overall, great place to let loose and enjoy the night. Definitely coming back!
Traveling Boss
#MoonlightDolls Had a blast watching the show & dinner! GREAT fun! Vegas vibe atmosphere...
Jeff Spring
Very cool place. The drinks were fabulous and the whole speakeasy vibe was very fun.
Wendy Rentschler
This place was great. Roy the door guy and Emily were awesome in helping us get tickets last minute. We showed up and even though they were sold out helped us get a seat (we had a last minute babysitter and we have always wanted to go). Our waiter was awesome too. Thank you for a great time!
Minh Vo
awesome experience. Beautiful space and drinks are on point. Happy hour 5 bucks for a craft cocktail. Food is great, oysters are fresh, and some interesting menu parts.
Matt Layfield
We have been here a couple times. Both times the food was very good, but the service not so much (I understand that one person can only shuck so many oysters, but how is that preventing you from bringing me my drink that has been sitting on the bar for the past 10 minutes?). Hopefully things improve...
Joseph McKinney
Went to a late-night show (A Midsummer Night's Bling), and had a blast. The entertainment was fantastic. Service was stellar. Drink prices were a bit bonkers, especially for a place that serves scotch in a wine glass. Food was ok--the prix fixe menu was pleasantly diverse, but the execution wasn't great (good, though). It's about a step short of its own vision--you're transported into a nostalgic fantasy of a '20s era fancy hotel restaurant, but a few corners are cut and it breaks the immersion. Those cut corners are not reflected in extra value on your ticket; viz., the night wasn't any cheaper because my short ribs were over cooked or my drink was in the blasphemously wrong glass. These are nit picks, though; I had a great time and will certainly be back.
homesicckalien
Had an awesome corpse reviver done by Andrew (posted a photo) and prime rib sliders. Brother loves this spot and I can see why. It was a nice spot to hang out and grab a bite. No fuss. I also tend to like environments that encourage you to socialize. Def a fan of the lack of TVs and friendly staff.
jewel juno
The show was awesome! The food was subpar. Plates of steak were cold and not uniform for our entire table. My advice come watch the show. Have dinner before you arrive.
De' An Dail
FANTASTIC entertainment but the buffet needs alot of work. . Don't go if you are easily offended by cuss words or seeing some skin.
I've been twice in 3 months.
I love the entertainment during the brunch on sundays.
The HOSTESS is FANTASTIC with her witty personality. I wish she would perform more and I loved her singing.
Ariel is the MOST talented with her death defying high rise performances. The first time I saw her, it was innocent & girly. The next time she was all S&M and sexy.
The other girls were good too.
The drinks are great too.
Sharon Hoyt
Fun night out! Unabashed comedy with guys and gals burlesque .
Sit down front and you might get a tiny part in the entertainment.. Sit in the balcony if you want a great seat view.
The buffet was ok but they ran out early and didnt restock it. We were here another night and a menu was offered. It was much better.
Rare fine old Houston building.
Perfect setting for this venue!
Love the bar inside front doors.
Arrive early and enjoy a drink before the show.
Use ParkWiz to find best garage option nearby.
Frankie Muniz
Wow! I love this place. Ridiculously delicious cocktails and the food is just the same. Went there for my anniversary and was treated immensely well. The vibe is right for the name - and next time I'll find my way into the show. A must for Downtown visits.
Rich Ross
Dinner was good...better than I expected. Our server, Brent, was awesome. Drinks were a little slow coming from the bar. The show was great...also much better than expected. I'll go back!
Victoria Nemeth
Fun and different. Not quite Vegas or NYC level. The food is ok, but super fun entertainment for Houston. We’ve seen both the dinner and late night show. I recommend coming for dancing to the late disco show.
Angel Fultz-Smith
I finally had a chance to visit Prohibition Supperclub and Bar for the very first time a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my birthday. The host staff and the management is absolutely amazing! When making the reservation, it was mentioned that we would be celebrating; so, the hostess set us up in the circular booth with a view of the whole restaurant. Super cool and unexpected! When we arrived, the party before us was still enjoying their meal and it was pretty clear that we wouldn't be seated in time. The manager stopped by the bar to let us know the situation and even offered to buy us a round - as a group of former servers and current frequent diners, we completely understood and declined the complimentary round. We were seated and our server stopped by to take orders. We honestly didn't see him as much as we would have liked...perhaps it was a tough night for him or maybe he was just not that great, regardless, I don't recall anyone getting all grumpy.
The food, well...was pretty good. The baked oysters are an absolute must! GET the OYSTERS! They're big and plump and bursting with flavor. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate torte and everyone else ate my chocolate torte; so, I'm pretty sure that's a winner! Now, for my entree, I selected the short ribs and sadly, I found them to be a bit dry. It may have been an off night or perhaps they're supposed to be that way. If you want juicy, tender short ribs, Prohibition probably isn't the place to order those.
The drink menu is full of gin based drinks - ya, know...those old time-y craft cocktails. Honestly, even if you think you don't like gin, order a drink - they're full of all kinds of other mixers and liqueurs that really change the drink. Or hey, give the punch a try! It's sweet and delicious, and not a drop of gin.
We'll be back, and for a show this time!
Tiffiny “TNT” Tribbey
It does in fact get weird, but I loved it next time I'll bring a bigger appetite. I really want some of the bread pudding OMG almost nothing has ever sounded so good. Did I say nothing? The show was brilliant, I really just can't say enough, pretty, perky, phallic and delish everything brunch should be, yum. Sorry the awesome 1920's style toilet is the only surviving pic after a series of phone replacements. The bathroom convo was good, too guys. Just a wonderful time.
Millicent Coins
The menu is VERY limited in variety but the items are delicious...a little pricey but delicious.
The ambience is wonderful, and the God Father Part II drink was the most refreshing cocktail I've had in life!!! In-house 'speciality' cocktails are also pricey to be half filled with ice (the kind you get from Sonic that melts fast lol)
Staff is ok...definitely nice but I've received better service for much less.
Jackie Geldert
I had such a fantastic time at the show last Saturday night! Our server, Katie was knowledgeable and accommodating, and the fish was delicious. I can’t wait to come back!
Justin Howeth
Wonderful place. Went for our wedding anniversary. The entertainment was great, food was decent, music was good.
Only thing is the seating, we sat off to the side and it was difficult to see the entire stage.
Aundria Eli
Not at all what I expected. However, it was a great show! Tales of A Hard Nut. If you're not comfortable with semi-nudity, this is not a show for you. Not for kids of any age!!! The Arial performances were my absolute favorite part of the show. The Oyster Bar was a welcome addition to the location. There is a variety of places to eat from.
TYLER HEBERT
The atmosphere was great. The bartender, Andrew, fixed a cranberry and vodka and it was the best I've tasted. I highly recommend this bar to anyone looking to enjoy a simple, nice and relaxed setting.
Taryn Hryc
Speakeasy in the back was amazing for dinner and the show. Saw burlesque and it was awesome. The aerial dancers are stunning and works of magic. Fun for a girls night out and the food was yummy too!
Jason Pham
Been here multiple times for the drinks. I am a whiskey drinker and love to try new whiskeys. Chris always provide the service and knowledge on different drinks. Y'all should definitely visit Asian Chris and try out some of their drink menus!
Leah Harris
The mac & cheese was scrumptious and my "you had me at hibiscus" drink was delicious!!! The staff was super amazing .. but; my server, Joshua H. was incredible!!! Love the atmosphere .. definitely tops!!!
Phong Le
We went here with a group of 6 people, drinks were on point, dinner was delicious and the show was amazing. Shout out to our host #asianchris for being so hospitable and making it such a memorable experience!
Jay Francis
On a subsequent visit, I had the smoked, fried chicken for a lunch. It was really good and recommended. I have never had that version of smoked chicken before. On first bite, the word "bacon" pops into mind. The crust was thin but really crispy and a total win. Served with green beans and mashed potatoes made for a perfect lunch. Now, the normal lunch price is $14 but it is run on the Tuesday lunch special for $10.
I ordered the monkey bread as a dessert because I know how hard it is to pull off monkey bread if you can't serve it right out of the oven. The bread had toughened up as I suspected it might and it was not good. But as I said, monkey bread is a hard thing to pull off. I've made it from scratch and also used the King Arthur mix and I, too, had problems if it cooled down and sat for a while. It's possible that softening the dough with a different recipe, such as using the Chinese roux trick used in Chinese milk bread (tangzhong) or perhaps an alternative recipe by adding some cooked potato to the recipe ( 1 cup cooked, peeled and riced baking potato, 3 1/2 cups AP flour, 1 1/2 tsp yeast, 1 1/12 tsp salt, 1 cup water, 2 tbs oil).
I really enjoyed the burlesque show put on by Moonlight Dolls. A lot of times, these nouveau burlesque shows feature performers who "want to get in touch with what it is to be a woman". It was very pleasing to see a group of performers who were weight appropriate with good knowledge of dance moves, gymnastics, etc for a change. The singer had a very fine voice. All in all a very pleasant show and experience. The theater is beautiful Where did they find those columns? Wow!
I do wish that the restaurant would step up to the plate and rethink their shrimp and grits recipe though. The dinner price is $45 which includes a salad, shrimp and grits and a dessert. I understand that they are having to turn out a lot of meals all at the same time which probably forces them to prep way in advance. I understand. The night I was there, I could tell that the grits were prepared way in advance as the "corn starch" was already breaking down, affecting the mouth feel. I was comparing them to Jonathan Jones's recipe of course. But at this price point I felt I was justified in doing so. Again, this is constructive criticism. For $45, I would recommend going with the steak option instead of the shrimp. I also ordered the house biscuits which had such a heavy rosemary and also a strong baking powder taste such that I kept thinking that I wanted to send them a better biscuit recipe.
Evelyn “Evy” Hernandez
It had been our first time at Prohibition and we were grateful for our server, Chris because he made us feel so welcome. Dinner and show were fantastic! We will be back and hopefully, Chris will be helping us out again.
Frank Taylor
The show Masque of the Red Death was a sexy show with costumes, great acting, singing and aerial acrobatics. Service was awesome. Overall well worth a visit.
kenneth reitz
Unique atmosphere. Great for a night out. If I were to go again, for an evening show, I would spend the $45 minimum on booze instead of food. The food wasn't over the top like everything else was. Plus, it's hard to find time to eat.
Samantha
Fun and unique place in downtown Houston! The food isn't great, but the drinks and entertainment do make up for it. I would definitely recommend the burlesque show! It's been fun for me to take my out of town guests to for a unique experience. Ask for Asian Chris to be your server! #asianchris He da best! :)
C C
I’ve been here twice and loved it both times. The show was tasteful and entertaining. The food was delicious. And service was on point. Great place to go for a fun night out.
Leslie Molson
Excellent cocktails and a friendly staff. Prepare to spend, however: 12 Oysters and five cocktails set me back about $130. Otherwise, I would have given it five stars.
f f
Loved the performances, we only had the grilled brussel sprout appetizer but it was quite good. I definitely want to go back and catch their other shows.
Jevin Goleman
Prohibition had a very unique atmosphere that I don't think can be found anywhere else in Houston. For those looking for a fantastic night out, I'd suggest springing for dinner and a show here. The food is delicious, and the burlesque is top notch. The supper theatre is housed in an authentic silent theatre, originally built in 1912. The majority of staff dress to theme, and everyone seems to strive to ensure you have a great time. The drinks a quite good, with a wide selection of brands that are hand chosen for quality, instead of just providing beaten path name brands. In fact, the staff ages some spirits in house for certain signature cocktails. If you want a more interesting bar experience, u suggest you give this place a look.
Chelsea Norheim
The Friday burlesque show was very entertaining. Talented dancers and the host for the evening was quite funny. It was a different outing for the evening and we enjoyed it thoroughly.
Gabriela Pena
Show was fun, but I wish they would've had more diversity with the dancers in terms of ethnicity and body size/ shape. Food was average.
Laura Rainey
My fiance and I had so much fun here. The host was funny and engaging. The acts were mesmerizing. The drinks were delicious. I would definitely come back.
Jonathan Clingman
Had the pleasure to fabricate some aerial props for their shows. Great performances, burlesque and amazing food. Definitely worth seeing their night life shows. Check them out!
wildrose g.
The venue was nice and the show was great. But drunk people disturbing others should have been kicked out rather than warned three times. The parking is horrible the valet people were harassing me even after I paid the parking fees
Tanya B
Amazing show. And the food is spectacular!
J D
Good atmosphere. Went with a group of 4 to the Oyster bar and Theatre. Drinks and food were great. The show was a excellent. I will be returning.
Joey K.
Oh, Prohibition - I refused to believe the bad reviews, however they do ring true to an extent. Fair warning to those that read this review, their food service is quite slow and I'm sure this establishment is not intended to cater to high volumes of people during the weekdays. On the positive side, their grilled oysters are out of this world; I can only name one other establishment in Houston that can challenge this taste!
Kyrstin Delagardelle
Great drinks and bar tenders! Was so pleased to wander in here on my brief trip to Houston. The atmosphere is unique and the whole experience is definitely one to remember.
Christopher Vo
If you have any special occasion coming up, whether it be a birthday, bachelorette party, or just want to get your friends together, Prohibition is the place to start your night off at. Fill up with a three course meal, excellent cocktails, an amazing show, and it's central to so many bars off of Market Square. Asian Chris can be your guide through the night and beyond.
Brandy Greco
We have gone to evening shows and to brunch/shows, and are never let down. It is always such a fun time, and the talent truly is amazing! We will definitely keep coming back.
Julie Brossett
Great place for a show with friends! Shows can start at 11:30p or 12m but great fun bar when you walk in to spend time !
We booked a table in the front so that is available.
Sarah Lyn Chappell
I loved this place so very much. We went there for our anniversary and it was soooo much fun! Loved the show and the speakeasy type bar. Our bartender was awesome!
Sean Holt
Had a wonderful visit! Atmosphere was great, food was delicious, and Katie was attentive and totally built the mood of the evening! We'll be returning, for sure!
Allie Isbell
Irish Coffee is to die for. Like they say, it is worth the wait (be patient, it is a process of about 15 minutes!).
Natasha Smith
My first time seeing a Burlesque show and It was awesome. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves. The host of the show was Hilarious. The girls were talented.
Adam Solís
This place was amazing! Definitely worth it! I'm excited about going back for another show. The show is interactive and fun. I'm so glad I finally ventured out to this theater.
Loni Huff
Oysterpocalypse happy hour can't be beat at $0.50/oyster in one of four preparations, including raw. Favorite hot preparation is the chimichurri. Great interior, reasonable prices on wine and a daily cocktail (usually a lime and rum daiquiri).
Walter Rosenfeld
Maybe - if you're in the right frame of mind - fun on a Friday or Saturday night. Sunday - full of loud stupid ppl - quite a few of whom seemed to work there. Bartender was nice. But oh-so not my scene. Really - not at all sure why you would go here unless you just want yo be with friends you to yell at yo be heard.
Ramon Rodriguez
Amazing show. The performers were great, friendly and engaging with the crowd throughout performance. Cocktails and drinks are awesome here!
Justin Howeth
Awesome place. Great date place. Food was amazing. Only thing was our seats, we were off to the side and couldn't see the stage that well
E. Quinney
Nice atmosphere..just be aware that the table drinks are more than the 75.00. I believe the lowest was 100.00 and not much alcohol. Other than that the place was great.
Reggie
omg omg 1ST. Great location Downtown Houston, the Bartenders BEST IN H-TOWN 4 Sure ( &Sweet) Management amazing! O and the SHOW WOWOWOWOO I must see if you are visiting Houston, Or just a fun Date night out.. only - comment I would make (sorry) is the Doormen, 2 much 4 such a cool place) but once you are past them PARTY ON PEOPLE a night you will not forget. Peace Head Hippie H-Town
Katelyn Hooper
Wonderful experience and outstanding service. Our server was Katie, she went above and beyond any possible expectations; made the experience just that much more enjoyable! Highly recommend
Rexsor Gonzalez
Amazing place, definitely worth going specially if your looking for a show and a night out, there many other places around but none like Prohibiton, one of my favorites places to visit on Friday or Saturday night, good drinks, good prices, awesome environment, will keep coming back. Extremely recomendable.
Neil (World via Cali)
This is cool little bar with a burlesque show going on in the back. We didn't go to the show and can only comment on the good drinks and good food of which we have no complaints.
Bryan Morgan

Need to work on seating arrangement. Makes no sense to have standing "seating" at near stage and tables toward the rear. You get to pay a cheaper price to block more pretentious people though, which is a plus.
