Reviews of Manoa Valley Theatre
Robert E
A nice local theatre that cycles through fan favorite productions and more odd ones. The cast members are generally pretty talented but some are a bit over the top.
Craig Paul
Fun place! Park at Manoa Valley Shopping Center. During a recent "Peter and the Wolf" concert members of the French Horn section donned wolf ears, since that was their theme.
David Rosenbrock
Very intimate place to enjoy community theater. I've been to many different kinds events here.
Mae Fukushima
Just saw an excellent performance of Rocky Horror Show. There are no bad seats in this small, intimate space. Park in the shopping center next door and have a wonderful evening!

Saw the closing night of "Tony n' Tina's Wedding"... WHAT A PRODUCTION, LOVED EVERY MOMENT!!! Would definitely see this again and again! Will never see Maleko McDonnell the same again - that is definitely a compliment...just amazing! Easy to find the theatre, lots of parking in the Manoa Valley Center.
Taylor Bair
Lovely theater with drinks (during shows), outdoor space, and theater cats.
Rachel Gallagher
Had such a good time with girlfriends at this theater house. The lights went out a couple of times due to a quick storm going by. The actors were so professional & kept going without missing a beat! The acting was superb! We even cried a couple of times and laughed many times as well. If you get a chance, go see this production of "The Joy Luck Club" it will not disappoint & bonus ... keep the live arts going.
Sophia Andorova
Lovely, intimate space, fantastic interaction between the cast and the audience.
Garett Kajiwara

Great space! Got to see Cambodian Rock Band and it was wonderful!
Sandra Ann Michaud
I am speechless. I am in awe at the performance of Cambodian Rock Band and how they brought to life the story behind the story through comedy, voice and tears. A must see at such a time as this. They have extended the show one more week. Do yourself a favor and spend a few hours here. You will not be sorry.

Josh Keller

Saw Amy Hanaiali'i perform her Broadway repetior. I let her try to embarrass me while she sang as Janet from Rocky Horror Picture Show. She was awesome. Full house too.

This theatre is very quaint and cozy. Keep an open eye as you draw near, or you will miss it. Although, it's quite small, it's nice. The staff serves food and drinks before the show, during intermission, and afterwards as well. The seats aren't fixed and can get rather uncomfortable after a while, but the performers were great, the stage allowed me to see really well and the show was really entertaining. I rather like the smaller venue as it was a much more intimate experience and the performers included the audience in the show!
Francine Mundine
It has been a while since I've been there but the performance were ways great.

Beloved local community theater, my first visit was February 9th to see "Avenue Q". Get there 30 minutes early as it is open seating. The performance was wonderful. There is a beer / wine selection for reasonable prices. Dress is casual to fancy depending on your choice. The seating is a little uncomfortable after an hour, but luckily that is right when intermission happens.
Angie
They always have a great variety of productions and great casting. Seats could be more comfortable but nothing to complain about.
Ronald Gerard
Saw Avenue Q there. It's a nice small theater. Maybe 200 seats. Stadium style seating gives everyone an unobstructed view. Sound system is great. You hear everything. A lot of free parking is available. Plenty of places to eat before or after the show.
Andrea Wagner
Another outstanding performance! Pacing was good, performers were great. Appreciate the excellence.
Rob Flores
Cozy and intimate. I enjoyed it mucho. Especially since parking at the Safeway is legal on show nights.
Shannon Murphy
I've never seen a truly "bad" show here! The season tickets are the best bet. There's always a variety of shows and the box office staff is very helpful in making changes when needed.
The setting is beautiful and truly unique- the grounds of a historic church yard complete with cemetery.

Very good, occasionally excellent, local theater. Intimate, smaller, open seating so come earlier if desired. Street and nearby shopping center parking just east with some neighborhood strip mall dining options that are fair to good. Refreshment bar, restrooms are maintained. Open, but covered, walkways prevent the frequent Manoa rains from dampening attendees.

Friendly staff. Inviting, intimate ambience. Great view of stage regardless of where you are seated. Very impressed with stage props and wonderful, diverse selection of performers. (Went to see Sylvia...so glad I did)

Had never been to this theater before, but it was great! I went to see "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and the air went out but they offered everyone complimentary water bottles for the inconvenience. I though that was an awesome gesture annnnd they had servers there!! Perfect date night location.

First time ever at Manoa Valley Theater today. Awesome experience watching Daddy Long Legs. Can't wait to see what will play next! Thank you!
Steve Lee
Great neighborhood theater. Produces smaller shows that you don't see on bigger stages. No bad seats in the theater.
Michael Choy
While a smaller theater than almost any other on the island, Manoa Valley Theater has a lot of character. Starting with the theater's location in an old graveyard to the very customizable black box, the crew here use all of this to put on an excellent show every time.
The shows here vary tremendously. In a season, there may be a drama, musical, comedy, or puppet show. Sometimes a combination of all of them!
Parking is super convenient at Manoa Marketplace. Don't worry about being towed; the theater has an agreement with the shopping center. Lots of parking and only a short walk over!

Popcorn Falls was a delightful, engaging comedy. How those actors kept the characters and sound effects in order was amazing.
