We saw Blue Man Group at the Briar Street Theatre in Chicago last night. The theater is a smaller scale theater, but the seats and especially the leg room were very comfortable. I did not expect to be sooo entertained. The music is fantastic and the actors are incredibly good at performance art. The show is about creating art and performing art and music with everyday items , visual multi-media art that entertains all ages. The children (and there were lots of them) in the audience loved it, as well as the adults. Audience participation is the key! It was so much If you are approached to participate in the show, make sure that you do so, Wear white if you can, you will glow in the dark! Truly unique entertainment, we thoroughly enjoyed it. And last of all, go see the show and have fun!

Blue man group for the win!!! I had a great time as always. This was my third time seeing the show and I’m glad how they change it each time. It’s like looking at again for the first time.

What a fun and entertaining show! The theater was very roomy and the seats were unexpectedly comfortable with plenty of leg room :) We ordered tickets at the last minute through HotTix (half price theater tickets for various shows/dates) and had no problem getting good seats. Every seat on the main floor had great views.

Well.. the theater itself has definitely seen better days. That being said I was there to see the Blue Man Group perform. The show was astounding. It was everything I was expecting and more. The BMG is still as amazing and relevant as they were 15 years ago. If you haven't seen them live you should.

BlueMan group plays here. They serve soda & beer - staff is helpful & it’s a well kept property. Not a lot of parking near by though. Not unusual for Chicago though. We had no problems catching a cab near by.

Just saw the Blue Man Group today. October 9 2022. They were amazing and funny as hell. Well worth the price of admission. The best thing they were not to loud for my tinnitus. I found them extremely pleasant to listen to and watch. The show is a must see. It was my first time.

Great little theater. Blue Man group is a pretty entertaining show. Just the right amount of comedy and absurdity to make for a great night. Our seats were right in the front row at the stage. Didn't get splashed nearly enough to make it worth it. I feel like the few from maybe the 7th row back would have been the perfect spot.

Good time at Briar Street Theater ...Blue Man was so fun ... we had good seats, as any seat would be a good view of the stage. Comfy theatre chairs and great atmosphere here. Theatre is not to big and not to small. Wonderful outing :)

The show changes up a bit to keep things fresh but also keeps in some of the favorites. Just make sure you don't show up late - or maybe not. ;) The first couple rows are reserved for the splash zone but ponchos are provided. This was the fourth time I've seen Blue Man Group (second time in Chicago) and I think the Chicago theater has the best sound. It is a smaller theater making it so there is no bad seat in the house.

We saw the Blue Man Group here and had a great experience. It is a small personable theater, where you don't feel so far away from the action. The staff were very friendly and the theatre itself was so easy to find.

It's a nice theater, it has parking spaces, not many there are some. Also, it has a bar with drinks (Daisy cutter is the only IPA option, but it's a good option). The wardrobe didn't open but it turns out we managed so it wasnt so bad to came in with our coats. If you come early, be aware there is no place to sit in the waiting area.

Went to see Blue man group and it was our first time. It was definitely an entertaining show. There were many times they picked volunteers randomly lol (not good if you’re shy, I was dreading being chosen for most of the show which made me not enjoy it completely) but show was fun! We were in the third row from the stage and they walked throughout the whole room!

This little theatre was perfect for watching the blue man group. The smaller space allows for the whole audience to be able to see everything very well. Since it is such a small space it does get a little crowded on entry and exit but that shouldn’t stop you from going to see a show!

Great staff - Blue man Group was a hit with my family, which includes a 4 yr old, 7 yr old, 21 yr old, 45 yr old and my mom. 3rd time seeing this with different crowds, and always fun time.

Amazing Blue Man Group experience.....truncated by seating in front of people who complained about it. No pictures allowed but trust me you'll be able to see everything from anywhere in the theater. Great nostalgic experience from a 90s kid and his girlfriend on NYE.

Took my family and some good friends to BlueMan. Everyone loved it, but it it seems the same as it was 20 years ago. I got balcony seats for our group for a good view, but found the balcony were terrible seats. We missed much of the show because we could not see. Do NOT get balcony seats. (I felt ripped-off, and the staff seemed indifferent) we have seen 2 Chicago shows and 1 traveling show over the past 20 years.

Great theater, Great show! I took my daughter to see The Blue Man Group on March 28 and they did not disappoint. This was our first time seeing the show. She has been asking to go for over a year, and she couldn’t have been happier. I’d like to thank the Blue man who made her Year by creating her own works of art. The theater was clean, people kept masks on, not over packed, and the show was fantastic! Saw Blue Man Group, and the sound was great, but the band overpowered the Blue man people when playing their instruments (the PVC pipes specifically) and that sound was lost in the band's. They provided ponchos but were barely needed, which was a bit of a let down. But overall the experience was great!

Great venue. Parking was 9k if you get there early. Chairs comfortable and seating vs stage was dynamic. Perfect all around and any seat was perfect to see the performance. Highly recommend for all who go to this venue.

Had balcony seats slightly obstructed view as advertised but definitely could still enjoy the whole show on a budget. It was an amazing show. There is convenient parking in the lot right next to it for 15 dollars cash. Very happy I got to go! It is truly amazing how you can be entertained for an hour and a half with no words.

Definitely recommend going to the Briar Street theater if you get the chance. the Blue Man group is a show that everybody should see at least once in their life. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures but I assure you it's worth it!!!

Took a group here to see Blue Man Group. The theatre is small but nice, and all seats are good seats. The staff was gracious enough to let the bus drivers in to see the show gratis....kudos to the staff. The show itself was pretty good and awesome back up musicians up top playing most of the music for the show.. its pretty interactive but the splashing and messiness seems to have toned way down. All in all the show was good and would recommend seeing it if youre in town.

Let me set the record straight - the performance itself was awesome, 10/10. Was fully entertained for the hour+ experience. Would recommend everyone see this show once in their lifetime. However, I cannot give the review 5 stars. One star deducted for being cashless. Last I checked, cash is valid currency in the US. The other star deduction is for having the most intense mask policy I've ever seen. It was downright ridiculous how they had the crowd prompted to recite some "mask compliance adherence" thing right before the show started. And this is coming from someone with 3 jabs and no political affiliation, if anyone is wondering. I would have purchased some merch, but unfortunately I can't go out of my way to support a place that operates in this manner. But you know what they say, get woke and go broke. This is the ONLY venue I visited in my four night stay that had a mask requirement, for context. Hope the owners come to their senses soon, because otherwise it's a nice theater and The Blue Man Group is an amazing show. Kudos on the production.

The show was AMAZING!!! Lots of laughter. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Did not give it 5 stars because the tickets were expensive and we were aggressively made to leave immediately at the end. There are easy to access restrooms and a small bar with some adult beverages. There is a small parking lot for $17 per car. Our vaccinations and IDs were checked prior to entry.

This was my 3rd time seeing Blue Man Group, & probably my favorite. This time I had my 2 sons with and they absolutely loved it. I highly recommend especially if your kids are into music. My oldest son loves EDM & he absolutely had a blast. Can't wait to go again.

Me and my aunt seen The Blue Man Group. We Got there early so we were able to park in the lot next to the theater for $17. Theater was a nice size. The Bathroom was clean. The staff was friendly. I don't remember seeing snack vendor but I did see a man come back with some beers, so Maybe they do not serve snacks, IDK

We saw The Blue Man Group here and the setting couldn't be better. The theater is small, so there were no bad seats. It also gave the show a more intimate feel because you were right there. No distance separated you from the action! We'll definitely be back!

Went to see Blue Man Group, and I might've enjoyed the show more than my daughters. The theater itself is big, but not too the point where you can't enjoy the show from any seat in the house. The seats are comfortable, and provide enough space, even for the bigger bodied folks like myself lol.

If you are from Chicago, you will find free parking spots nearby easily compared to people who visit from the suburbs. The seats are old so you will get tired by the end of the show.Blue man group is fun if you are with your family and friends.You need to see the show to decide for yourself whether you like it or not, because I know some people who are crazy about the show, while others find it mediocre.

Blue Man group! Really fun watching thru the eyes of children seeing this for their first time. All Covid precautions were taken seriously by the theater and patrons alike. Enjoyable for my second time around. Plenty of space allotted for social distancing. The kids missed out on some of the former audience participation activities as well as meeting the blue men after the show. No photo opportunities anymore. They enjoyed it without knowing they missed out on anything. Go see it, have some fun!

I had such a blast here! We came to see Blue Man Group and I absolutely loved it. It was a hilarious show with some really high-quality music. It was pretty family friendly, too as there were a lot of young children. This is a great location with plenty of places to eat nearby. If you're on the fence, I would definitely recommend coming to see the show!

The Blue Man Group is a cool show. It is very crowd interactive. It is a fun experience for people of all ages. The acoustics were great. The staff on the inside were very friendly. Tickets are pricey, but it's worth it to check out the show at least once. I had seats near the front, which honestly was cool but not worth the price. There first few rows get plastic panchos to wear during the show to avoid getting paint, water, and other items sprayed onto clothes and personal belongings. Cash bar only which was a bummer. I would recommend this place.

Brought my Fiancé here to see Blue Man Group for his Birthday. It was such an incredible performance. We were smiling the whole time, I would recommend it to anyone, kids and adults. It was nice that the theater wasn't too big, therefore, the performance felt intimate and they really made you feel like you were a part of it all. Funny enough, my name ended up on the little red lettered script screen they have, not sure how. But it made the audience say they loved me, which was a nice little momento 😘☺️🙉😛🤭😸

We just saw Blue Man Group there. I have a sensitivity to strobe lights. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating! The house manager came and got me from my seat every time strobes would be used (3 times) and escorted me to the lobby. He was very helpful and not once seemed annoyed by me. The show was also great! Thank you for making my experience great!

Visited the theatre to see the Blue Man Group perform last week. It's in a nice little location in Lakeview and was easy to walk up to! Inside was nice enough and had a surprising amount of seats, though nothing crazy like the big theatres downtown or anything. Comfy place to go and watch a nice show. Entrance and seating was easy and fluid, as well as exit. Would definitely not mind visiting for other shows!

Great neighborhood small venue is perfect for the Blue Man Group show. Plenty of nearby parking and nearby public transportation, we'll appointed bar, and easy access amenities make this cozy venue make you feel right at home. I enjoyed my time here - will be back!

The show put on by the Blue Man Group was absolutely amazing! The audience involvement was fun, especially being part of a large group, because we knew most of the people chosen to participate. The employees were wonderful, as they were both friendly and helpful. The experience was surreal; it was amazing, and I had tons of fun. Both the energy and atmosphere were great, very conducive to a fun experience. I did, however, leave with a headache, due to the flashing lights. I did not mind; I felt it was worth it for such an amazing show, but it is definitely worth mentioning for those with sensitivities to such things.

Blue Man Group is such a fun show! I've been three times over the last 15 years and it's a little different each time. The performance is fun and engaging. My 9-year-old niece said it was her favorite part of her visit to Chicago. Definitely recommend. Pro tip: Buy your tickets in person at the theater to avoid the $10/ticket online fee. Groups of 4+ and 10+ were eligible for discounts as of July 2018!

We saw the Blue Man Group here on Thursday May 4, 2017. It was awesome!!! The staff are very friendly in assisting you to your seats. They explain the rules ahead of time about cellphones & cameras. You can take them in but are asked to not take pictures during the show. After the show, then you have the chance to take pictures with the Blue Man Group & their back up band. I took pictures of both. Keepsake memories. Would highly recommend going to visit this theater. There is lots of security so you will feel very safe.

Great venue and pretty easy to find. First time here, as I am from out of town. Saw the Blue Man Group perform and it was awesome! Only item for consideration when coming here is knowing that it's tucked into somewhat of a residential area. There's plenty of parking areas, but it would make things easier if you research them ahead of time.

The blue man group was a weird, eccentric experience. I was not the biggest fan of it. The show was too loud overall and caused me to be anxious the entire time. The music and the little acts they did were unique. It honestly just was not for me. I do have to say I feel like you should go see their show at least once.

The Blue Man Group was SO COOL! I knew it would be creative, but it was so funny too! The Blue Men did a fantastic job interacting with the whole audience even for us in the balcony. I have never seen a marshmellow thrown so far. Overall my family loved it, 12, 10, 8 and 6yr old kids were completely involved. Great show!!

My wife and I went to see the Blue Man Group. They were amazing. The venue is smaller than you would think for the shows it gets, and there is not a bad seat in the house. The front section needs plastic ponchos because of the spatter from the Blue Man Group and row M is a great row to be centered on. That being said. Even the wing side seating is so close that you will get the full experience!

I really loved the show in Las Vegas it was the best ever with balloon balls and flying remote controlled fish . The theater there was out of this world I would strongly suggest seeing the blue man group when ever and where ever you can.

There are not enough words to describe my experience at this theatre was. The most recent show was the Blue Man Group. They absolutely killed it. I will be bringing my family to see them and see what other acts they may have. The minute you walk in, you see tubes all across the ceiling and articulate patterns. They don't open the doors until it's close to show time. The anxiety and eagerness starts to kick in. So they happen to have a bar in the lobby. Eases out those nerves. But when you walk in, you start to wonder how such a building has theatre this big. The seats were comfortable, even for a bigger size, but they are relatively close. But the experience was worth every bit. If your coming to see the men of blue, I caution you, dare not be late.

Blue Man Group is an experience unlike anything else in Chicago (or anywhere else for that matter). It's an awesome and unique show! The theater is cozy here but it's a must see if you haven't.

What an interesting, fun experience! The balcony seats do not allow you to view the whole stage though, so I recommend sitting in the main orchestra level. The first 6 rows get splashed from the stage. Best seats? 10 rows back, orchestra.

Older, small, intimate theater for the Blue Man Group. (A line will form outside the theatre before show-time but do keep in mind you can enter from two sides...so dont make the mistake to stand in the longest line that wraps around the corner of the building thinking that it's the only way in). Sat 4th row Center for the show and it was fun. Characters are very interactive with the group, making for a fun experience. Also, the smaller size of the theater allows for a more intimate connection with the crowd and a more "up-close & personal" memory of the show. Took teenage boy to see the show & he enjoyed. Lots of talented people behind the percussion/music portion and the "Blue Men" were great in their own right (considering they do not speak at all throughout). Would suggest for anyone to experience whether you are visiting Chicago or have just never seen the show.

Briar Street Theater is the the Blue Man Group home theater. The inside of the theater lobby is sci-fi looking with piping and cool paintings converting some of the famous international art pieces into blue man characters. The piping is not just for decorations, but also like a scavenger hunt to figure out which pipe ends where - try it as a fun date activity. Drinks and water are available for purchase and can be brought into the theater. The Blue Man Group is very creative, funny, and transcends age and gender. Appropriate for all age groups and for NON-ENGLISH speaking audience. I think this is so precious considering what a large melting pot Chicago is. I warmly recommend this show to everyone, even if there is a slightly immature part that caters mostly to kids (but hey, we're all kids on the inside). Theater seating: like with most theaters, seating in the middle is best, but overall most seats are good. If you want to leave the theater with specks of color, the purchase seating in the first couple of rows. If you're doing that I recommend wearing all white and then leaving with your own souvenir/piece of art courtesy of Blue Man Group, like I saw group of 10 do while I was there. This theater is short walk away from Belmont red and brown line train. It's also in a good area to find a place to eat/grab coffee before the show.

The home of Blue Man Group! Definitely worth checking out, though the replay value sharply diminishes as the show has essentially stayed the same for the last five years. (I've seen it four times.) Check out the Mastercard-exclusive offers for premium seating, take advantage of the student-only discount ticket offers (available ~2 hours prior to the show start), and save ridiculous ticket/surcharge fees by booking tickets by phone directly from the venue rather than Ticketmaster.

I only give three stars because they require proof of vaccination in order to attend. That's pretty discriminatory. Makes everyone without a vaccination have to jump through hoops to get a negative covid test before attending which is not fair at all. Nowhere to get one on a Sunday without paying for it at an urgent care, so cost me a hell of a lot more money to attend than expected.

The theater is quaint, about the size of large movie theaters nowadays. Due to the show ambience (Blue Man Group) it was dimly lit and smoky inside so being able to see cleanliness is hard to judge. The seating was old style but seemed to be well maintained.

The Blue Man Group is the best audio-visual-comedic-improv experience known to mankind. Hands down. Their improvisation skills are so good, you can't even tell what's scripted and what isn't. And no, their extra antics aren't staged and they don't have audience members placed. I visited with a local band from Western NY and one of the percussionists was chosen for a bit involving percussion. Needless to say, he exceeded their expectations and were able to seamlessly adapt and (futilely) increase the difficulty. I would completely recommend this to anyone who is remotely interested in this kind of stuff.

The place can be hard to get to because of location and traffic, parking is available onsite also but very limited (I paid cash and it did not look like they accept anything else). Inside they accept CC, before you enter they run a metal detector wand on you and staff was very friendly with kids. Space inside is limited before doors open for the theater. Recommend using the restroom before the show as there are no intermissions during the show. They started the show just a few minutes after. They setup the souvenir stand after the show. The theater had stadium seating so view is good for anywhere.

What an awesome theater. The home of the famous Blue Man Group is appropriately decorated to give the audience a full, immersive experience the moment they step in. The lighting and the pipes hanging from the ceiling all contribute to the sci-fi, out of this world experience. The show is extremely entertaining, with the Blue Man Group regularly updating it's show to keep up with current trends so the show remains fresh and entertaining. After the show, you can hang out in the lobby to get your photo taken with a Blue Man and score an autograph at the same time. Unfortunately the lobby isn't huge so it does get crowded really quickly after the show. So be prepared to stand in line for a while or make a bee line for the exit once the show ends!

The Google directions were teriffic (as always) including the street level maps and the tie-in with the Skokie Swift and timetables. The facility was clean and well laid out, easy to navigate inside. It's a pretty nice size house but even if you are in the back row you can see the stage; you don't need binoculars. Blue Man Group has been here for the past 12 years; don't sit too close to the stage if you don't want to get messy. Try to sit half way back if you want to stay clean. Ear plugs are available if the show is too loud for you.

While the show was great, the best part was the staff. A member in our party was in a wheelchair and the staff didn't bat an eye. From buying the tickets, parking, and getting us seated (including removing a seat from the row to ensure the wheelchair would fit), the staff never have the impression any if it was a burden. We went to see the show on New Year's Eve (7 pm show). They incorporated some technology into their "act" which was interesting and prodigious. On the other hand, the technology could have been cut shorter. It seemed to go on forever. They performed a skit regarding Twinkies which I found a bit boring (they used a young 20-something female from the audience). They grabbed another audience member and created a very cool piece of art work on a huge canvas by slamming his entire body (face first) into the canvas (he was wearing protective gear from head to toe). Now, this was definitely entertaining! In fact, it was probably the highlight of the entire show. Do not sit in the first 7 rows or you will get wet and/or dirty with food products tossed about (plastic ponchos are provided to those who sit in these rows). Audience participation is encouraged. The very end was fun -- extra large balls dropped down from the ceiling along with streamers as loud music played. The balls were cool as they changed to different colors. The plastic pipes hanging from the ceiling came to life and appeared to be dancing as they twisted about. It was somewhat magical. There are no bad seats in this small theater. Parking across the street was $15 (cash only) so we were in and out of the lot quickly. I thought the show was okay, but not over-the-top outstanding. It is great entertainment for the entire family. Who should see the show? It is a great place to take a date or for a "date" with your spouse. It is also appropriate for children 12 and over. The only negative is that the theater is old, worn out, small and seats are not very comfortable with very minimal elbow room.

Sat in the upper section. Awful, would not recommend getting those seats. You can barely see anything. Our kids were standing just trying to see, and of course were told to sit down. Understandable because they could fall, but come on. There were parts of the show that we missed completely because of the angle of the upper section, you cannot see the corner of the stage.

I went there 5 month ago, and I was surprised by the decor, looks like this is a warehouse which someone wanted to use it as a place for weird experiments, starter to adapt it with connections, hoses, conduits and other improvements, but then gave up and left everything in ruin. Balcony rows are cool, hanging in open space like they are now suppose to be there. Seats are comfy enough for almost couple hours that one needs to spend seated. The depth is a little sharp, and I liked that I was seated almost on top rows, and I could see the entire room, which is not very big.

Got there early went to Drews on Halstead for what was one of the best burgers I've had in awhile. The theater is a little dated but it has character. Nice area to walk around. The show is good bit could be better, a lot of the things that are going to happen You can figure it coming. I found the show to be boring at points due to them dragging it out much to long. Parking around the place is bad, hard to find places to park. Then when the doors open you feel like cows all being hurdled into a small place which made us feel uncomfortable. Seating is ok. Can remember the show being much more funny years ago but I think they are now more concerned about getting your money and getting you out as fast as they can! Sorry but could be much better!

The theater is really neat with all the open ceilings and they way it is decorated. The only part I didn't care for was the tiny parking lot and they charged $15. I had to park there as I am not from the area, so I didn't know where else I could park.

I've been to two Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas and this show is rated up there next to them in my book. They are hilarious and really know how to engage the crowd. Highly recommend seeing one of their shows. If you're an introvert, choose a seat in the middle of the section because they do come up and "pick on you" to come up to the stage. I would highly recommend seeing these guys!

If you've never been, it's a Have-to-d! It's a must! Get there early, park on the street, pay at box the 2 hours timed we the 1.5 hour show, and it's even better. Enjoy!
