Reviews of The Lyric Baltimore
Went to see the Masked Singer Tour, the modern music echoed a little bit in the classic opera house but sightlines were good and it didn't feel crowded. The family enjoyed our concert experience.
A beautiful historic theatre. Not a bad seat in the house. Parking was easy. So nice to have dinner at The Helmand and then walk to the theatre. Just park at Helmand , pay the 15$ and you're good to go all evening.
Been here quite a few times for music, a first for stand up. Steven Crowder did not disappoint. Pee dribble hilarious style comedy. Dave was low key craze, below the belt in the greatest way. Didn't like the annoying "interrupt in the middle of important segments" guy in the beginning. Wasn't laughing. The acoustics were on point for it being a non musical performance. Thank you to the lyric for supporting this amazing line up (and ignoring the lib hype), much appreciated. I was hoping to talk with Steven after the show, but I was ushered out pretty quickly.
I went to The Lyric to see The Temptations and The Four Tops. It was a great show, very fun. I sat on the second level balcony. It was sometimes hard to hear clearly. The ushers were helpful. The area that The Lyric is in, is in walking distance of restaraunts and parking. All in all I enjoyed the venue.
Great old theater in Baltimore. Easy to get to. Lots of parking close by. Many restaurants within walking distance. Hood sight lines. Sound can be iffy. At the last show we saw, the vocals were almost completely overridden by the instruments. Overall, great place to see a show.
The Lyric is smack in the middle of downtown Baltimore. I won’t say it is convenient, because you have to drive through 10-15 of city traffic to arrive, plus parking is haphazard. The building is in good shape. Exterior is professional.
The lobby is disorganized and makes you want to hurry past to get to your seats. I am guessing that is not the feeling that the concessions folks want you to have. The interior stage area is nice. Retro vibes. Plenty of space.
Sound could be improved as I had a hard time understanding everything the speaker was sharing. That could also be a feature of the speakers sound kit and not a a feature of the stage.
The venue was really great. First time. Saw a play there. Every seat is good.
Who's line is it anyway guys were great the lyric seating is tight like a high-school auditorium but snack prices are like the movie theater $4.77 for one deer park water
Amazing venue. I saw Ringo Starr and His All Starr band. Great seats and great prices. Lots of parking all around the venue. We were within spitting distance of a Beatle for an evening. It was an unforgettable experience.
I've been to several concerts here and it's always a fun experience. My favorites were Alice Cooper, Ringo Starr, Paul Rogers, and Rain; the Beatles tribute band.
Very nice theater and some helpful staff. Some were nicer than others. Saw Joe Gatto perform here and it was awesome.
The show (New Jack City Live) was great! Loved it! But the theater needs to get new seats. The seats are absolutely horrible! Very low to the ground, hard and uncomfortable. We were all different shapes, sizes, and heights sitting elbow to elbow. Everyone I say near complained about the seats!!!
REVIEW: NEW JACK CITY I'm glad to see that we have a place that black artistry can be displayed. But I would like to see actual snacks and hors d'oeuvres be served especially closer to the area where your seat is that way you can get back quickly. They had a lot of commercial equipment all around that they should have had more organized or put away until after the event was over. The second part of the show was freezing so badly that I literally feel like I caught pneumonia. The staff were nice and it was clean and the sound was pretty crisp in the audio element. Overall I give it a 3.5 but there was no option if they would have had food closer and the temperature more compatible I would have been fine but the acting was pretty good, especially Big Daddy Kane and his nemesis.
Good size venue, stage view from even the farthest corners isn't terrible. Acoustics are good, and stage visibility is very good from all seats.
Decent munchies pop corn pretzels and drinks. Prices are not bad either.
Took my wife to see impractical jokers star joe gatto, comedy performance was awesome I would highly recommend it.
It was a little cramped and I wish we had been told that the only real food available was from food truck. Inside was only popcorn, pretzels and hot dogs. I also wish there had been a screen to see the comedian's face as we had nose bleed seats. I did like the parking which was easy, and the lobby is so airy and open. The staff were helpful and the facility was clean. I don't go into downtown Baltimore very often but I have to say I felt safe there.
Very nice. Only complaint is the AC could have been better was very warm in there.
Ringo Starr
Beautiful venue. Wish the seats were more comfortable. I understand not wanting to replace original stuff and to stay in line with the theater experience, but my damn legs were mashed up against the seats in front of me the whole time and was pretty much on top of the folks next to me.
Good seating and theater layout. Decent garage parking a short walk away and concessions moved quickly.
Great time! The seats are REALLY small, so if you are 200lbs+, you will probably have a difficult time being comfortable. If you have bad knees, it may be a lil' difficult too, because the seats are also low. But other than that, I had an awesome time!
Great arena for concerts & shows. Parking was in a garage close by. The only hiccup is the seats need to be redone and made wider. Everyone is on top of one another cramped in the outdated wooden fold up chairs. Besides that all is well. Had a wonderful server that surprised us with a delicious beverage.
I enjoyed the show that I went to see, however, I feel that the Lyric Theater could do a lot better in terms of management of the parking and the Theater entrance... 1) have a parking attendant directing traffic to the 2 garage entrances. There was only 1 lit entry ticket machine, so drivers assumed that was the only one working, when in fact both were working. An attendant could have alleviated that problem/congestion. 2) if the show starts at 3pm, entry to the Theater needs to start NLT 230 -as opposed to having ppl waiting outside in the weather until 3
I took a girls trip with a friend to see a comedy show in Baltimore and after a Google search, came across the Ulysses hotel, which had only opened a week or so prior to my search. I saw the pictures online and fell in love immediately with this hotel. The pictures don't even start to do it justice! The valet staff were so sweet! Tia checked us in and my friend and I brought our stuff in and literally took a video of how cute the room was within the first minute of getting there. We had to start getting ready for our show, so I plugged in my straightener and blew a fuse in the room. Jasmine came right up to our room and ended up moving us because they couldn't fix it right away and they knew we were trying to get ready to head out. Haley even threw in a bottle of champaign for the "trouble" (it was no trouble at all). We got ready in our new room and went to Blooms for a quick before
show drink where Maja gave us her recommendations (which were INCREDIBLE) and even told us where we could grab a bite to eat after the show. Tia gave me the website to buy lotion and other Ulysses goodies. Breakfast was melt in your mouth amazing. The buttermilk waffles and the smoked salmon and eggs are the greatest things my friend and I have ever eaten and Haley remembered us and asked how the show was. The staff takes great care of their guests and they live by their catch phrase of "Soft beds and strong drinks" (I may have that backwards...but both ring true). The rooms are very clean and the beds are VERY soft. The drinks and food are amazing. I will never stay anywhere else in Baltimore. The area is very safe. We walked to the Lyric and never felt unsafe as 2 young women out on the town away from our kiddos. It was an incredible trip! I may have to travel to Baltimore just to
stay at the Ulysses.
I need to share how amazing Karen at the Lyric Ticket office was yesterday right before the Ringo Starr concert. We had trouble with the "guaranteed" tickets we purchased from Stubhub 15 minutes before the show was supposed to begin. Karen was able to keep calm, see that the tickets we bought were in the second row, and then offered us FANTASTIC seats in the front right box, practically next to the stage. She was professional, friendly, caring and helpful. It used to be that many service professionals were like this; no more, though. Karen stood out like a shining star and saved the day for us. The concert was great, and we left feeling wonderful about the Lyric (not so much about Stubhub!) Whoever at the Lyric is Karen's boss? You've got yourself a gem!
Saw Taylor Tomlinson, venue is very clean. Lines seem to go pretty fast at the door and to get a drink.
Went for a 1 evening only Christmas production. Purchased tickets that would have been obstructed by lights. Our group of 10 were relocated to different seats prior to arrival. Appreciate the proactive approach!
Saw Jim Gaffigan. Beautiful place, but high concession rates. All of the employees were masked. Show was great and would definitely return.
Went to the New Jack City show! Loved it!
Absolutely love the theater. Seating is good
The seats are a little small. If you are over 300 pounds stay home. And go on a diet.
Great venue. All seats are close. Awesome place. Great time! Easy in, easy out! I will go again!
The building itself is pretty on the inside but very dated. The sound isn't the best for concerts. But overall I had a good time seeing Anthony Hamilton
Love how small the place is, was the perfect place for a comedy show! Wish the seats had a little more room or a center aisle as you have to stand to let people pass you and are a little close to the person next to you, but super easy to find the place and clean venue.
Show was fun and the seats were great. Parking was easy close. Got there early thinking we could grab a snack before the show. Decided on a Soft pretzel. Bad choice. Other folks enjoyed concessions foods though. But we didn't go there for the snacks. Overall, good experience. We will go return some day.
Absolutely Beautiful. Went to see the Glenn Miller Orchestra perform, had a great time. Even got walked to our seats!
Nice venue! We parked at the Fitzgerald right next door that was convenient and only charged $15 for the day for event parking. I would advise on arriving early to park near the exit and pre-pay to beat the lines after the show.
As for the venue, the lines were pretty long for food & drinks but that's to be expected I guess. I'm also insanely afraid of heights but was very comfortable sitting in the dress circle and likely would've been fine up in the balcony too.
Came out with a friend of mine to see Bill Maher live and it was decent. Unfortunately I was not permitted to bring in my take away food/leftovers from restaurant.
Great concert venue! Wonderful staff and easy parking!
Went to Ringo's All-star band concert.Concert was great however it was 85° in the top balcony all concert long. After waiting for 3yrs to finally see this show because of Covid I was very disappointed.Knowing that 90% of the crowd was 50 or older this issue should have been resolved way ahead of time.
This is why I gave it a "SWEATY" 3Stars
Great venue just wish there were better parking options close by.
I've seen a few shows here worth my wife and we've always been able to grab great seats and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Props to the guy with the backdrop from the 80's taking group pics outside!
Really enjoyed the Ringo Starr concert even tho it was supposed to be 2years ago. The Lyric was a nice place to see a concert. Very convenient parking garage next to the building.
Overall a nice facility. I attended a performance of Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses at this venue. The lobby isn't particularly noteworthy, but the theater is very nice. There's lots of great architecture to appreciate, the seats were comfortable, and the sound was great. As a bonus, the theater seems to have an event parking agreement with the garage directly across the street, so parking was easy and affordable. I would definitely come back here for future performances if I'm ever in Baltimore.
The Lyric is a beautiful, historic and comfortable theater. The perfect place to enjoy Ringo Starr and his fantastic band.
The Lyric is great for watching a show. The lobby is rich in Maryland history while you enjoy drinks and snacks. The night view from the walkout is nice.
Intimate venue for a Stadium Band.. Ringo Starr and his All Star band, including Edgar winter, the leader of ToTo, men at work and average white band!!!
Went to a concert there. Was awesome.
The customer service was excellent. All the staff was kind and friendly. I was greeted at the door; the bathroom stall was clean, the sinks were clean, there was a greeter in the bathroom who helped maintain the order. When I arrived inside the theatre, I was escorted to my seat. When the show was over, and I was leaving, I was greeted at the door again. I saw the John Christ comedy show. I recommend the Lyric theatre. I will vom back should a show I'm interested in coming up.
We saw Cirque le Musica, it was great. We had a great time. The show was inspiring.
We’ll run venue, fantastic place for a concert or show. We saw Chris Rock. Food (light snacks) and bars are well run. Parking was easy, getting in, even with phone pouches, and out of the show was easy. All seat are good, we sat in the balcony, great seats.
Nestled in downtown Baltimore this is a wonderful theater and part of Baltimore history. We saw the Cirque du Soleil Christmas show and it was wonderful as well
Great acoustics but a little warm in the nose bleed section. Gotta assume that's normal though.
The Lyric theater was a wonderful experience. Not a bad seat in house, had an outstanding view from the center balcony... the concession stands were well stocked and the staff were very friendly, made you feel welcome
Beautiful location, almost like an church with modern, comfortable seating. Security is a bit disorganized, but the building is gorgeous and the acoustics are perfect.
Took my son here to see Sesume Street Live. It wad great! Lines moved quickly to get in and finding our seats with the help of a staff member was easy. I look forward to attending other shows they will have here! #GreatShows #KidFriendly
Outside of the building was tagged when I went but the inside was gorgeous!! An old opera house retrofitted for modern shows and performances; it's so cool! The old style architecture and design has been kept up to date and is so beautiful! The staff and security make sure everyone has a great experience and I know I sure did when I went!!
Beautiful theater..the staff are so kind and helpful. Love coming here.
a very nice venue but parking can be a but confusing. Parking garage is next door and part of a residential/commercial complex.
It’s a great place for a show, just brace yourself for the food prices
Went to see Gavin Degraw and it was awesome! The only thing I didn't like was security made you get out of line to throw away a water bottle and had to get rechecked instead of just having a trash can there where he's checking people.
Had a good time. Show was amazing, and staff was helpful. Do not and I repeat DO NOT get a front row Balcony seat. Half way through the show, I had to stand up the rest or the show. The lack of leg space was painful and numbing. I am only 5'9, so anyone taller I pray for you. Also Mens room was Down stairs, Lady's Room Upstairs. Instead of one of each on each level. Outside of that Top notch
The opera house is lovely. The staff were well organized and friendly. Getting in and out was easy. Food and drinks are paid by "contact-less" methods, so bring a credit card (and beers are very expensive- around $27 for a beer and an ipa)
hi i was there for the temptations and four tops show, the show was great!!!! and the staff was excellent.....the problem i have is that when we went to buy food and drink, the food menu had items that they didn't have and we were there way before the show, so why was it on the menu? i wish the menu had a better variety than it did because everyone doesn't eat certain foods but would like to buy something.
thank you!!
The Lyric was a nice venue the performance I witnessed there was astonishing (Tom Segura's I'm Coming Everywhere Tour). This review is more for the venue itself. The venue was relatively clean for baltimore standards. The parking was an easy short walk away. The concessions I won't mention as I didn't partake. Overall it was a decent place to hold a show. I don't go to baltimore often, why would you? Although if your there check out the Lyric.
Just went to see Soul Jam. The show was okay. The concession stand items were way overpriced. Eat before you go to a show there.
We went to the Lyric Opera House to see Steve Martin and Martin Short in February 2018. The venue was beautiful and the staff were very helpful and extremely friendly.
We absolutely loved getting to see ZZ Ward's performance at Artscape this year. The rain didn't scare us away! She was amazing and the best part is that it was all free! Looking forward to another amazing Artscape next summer!!
Love the show and sound was great. So glad to be able to go to shows here!
I saw John Mayer perform here for a benefit concert. His acoustics sounded amazing. Beautiful hall too. I loved the masonry. Picture taken from orchestra row O
Great venue, the history is rich . It hold some of its original beauty.
I had a fantastic time. I purchase tickets to see The Four Tops and The Temptations. And they did Not disappoint. It was absolutely fabulous 👌. It was the best birthday present ever❤️❤️❤️❤️ …
70's SOUL JAM @ MODELL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER at the LYRIC BALTIMORE, MD. THE BEST 70'S SHOW I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. GREAT PERFORMANCES, SAFE, GREAT PARKING, GOOD FOOD, BEVERAGES, A LOT OF SECURITY PRESENT, NO FIGHTS, ARGUMENTS, WHICH ALWAYS A GOOD THING WHEN YOU HAVE OLDER PEOPLE PRESENT. BALTIMORE OWN "THE STYLISTICS", "BLUE MAGIC", "HEATWAVE", AND "THE EMOTIONS". MY FAVOR WAS "BLUE MAGIC" THEY TURNED THE HOUSE OUT. THEY WAS DRESSED TO KILL, ON POINT, ALL THERE PERFORMANCES AND SINGING WAS GREAT. GREAT SHOW GENTLEMEN. "THE LEAD SINGER FOR BLUE MAGIC CAN SING I MEAN MY DUDE PUT IT DOWN". NOT THAT I'M TRYING TO TAKE AWAY FROM THE REST OF THE BLUE MAGIC SINGERS. " ALL THE GENTLEMEN IT BOTH BANDS PUT IT DOWN AND IF NOT FROM THEM THERE'S NO SHOW PERFORMANCE". CAN'T WAIT TO SEE BLUE MAGIC AGAIN GREAT PERFORMANCES.
Beautiful theater all the staff were nice and helpfull
The place was packed for the R&B show l saw. I will be going again.
Thank you for bringing back the oldie but goodie s! Love the old school rocks 🍸💃🥰Kudo's! …
Really enjoyed the show, wish they would modernize the seasony
Outstanding venue! Row M is my favorite. Garage parking is convenient.
Very nice theater, however, the theater was severely understaffed and the service suffered.
The venue is nice inside but they need to figure something out to get people through the door faster. There was a line all the way to the police academy (about 0.2 miles). I waited a good 15-20 minutes, after paying all this money for tickets I'd hate to be late because of something out of my control.
TOTALLY loved the theater! Comfortable seating and nice concessions!
Seats are small, otherwise ok. Good view of the stage from almost every seat. Parking was somewhat challenging.
Long lines to get in as they bag and lock your cell phone, and scan you through a metal detector before entering. If you want to see an entire show you better get there an hour or more early. As a result of this inconvenience, I'll seek entertainment options in DC, in the future, as opposed to having my phone locked in a bag that is also not easy to carry around.
Maniheim Steamroller Christmas was a great show to get into the holidays spirit.
Our waiter was very friendly and attentive (Dawn). The food was good and the party music was LIT 🎶 I look forward to my next visit. …
Great venue. Lots of leg room for a tall person.
Enjoy the 4 Tops and Temptation Show... each group had 1 last original member on the stage... larger selection would have been Welcome... understanding that the 2 older members moving noticeable Slower... but they both were well Remembered
Great place to see a show, but be sure to take an Uber.
Beautiful theater, but no vaccination card checks. The seats have knee room, but the cushions are crushed and threw my back into spasms. The seats arent very wide for big butts, get a box seat with a regular chair for the needed elbow room.
I've been going to the Lyric since 1977! Season tickets to the opera, seeing River Dance Live, Afro-Cuban Jazz and our last show The Temptations n the Four Tops! Always FABULOUS!
Clean, nice staff, but tiny seats.
Seat pricings/location are a bit much at times considering there are not many bad seats really.
We saw Nat Bargatze (comedian) Nice venue.. masks mandatory but clearly not enforced. Audio could be better,, also never understood why the seats aren't angled on the sides to see the stage better instead of looking directly forward then having to turn your body/ neck just to see but it's like that everywhere ...just like overpriced concessions.
Was here to see Iyanla Vanzant. This facility is beautiful. Seating was great. Only complaint was the behavior of the attendees which you can't hold against the facility. Looking forward to more events here.
Saw Tom Segura here on 6/8, great facility!! Parking was absolutely terrible though, it took 1.5 hours to exit the garage and the PMI employees did nothing to help.
Easy parking. good location.
Inside, GREAT design. Double doors for noise cancellation, raises seats so not light when doors open. Solid stuff
Great place,no matter where u sit. Great seats
The Lyric is classic, a bit like stepping back in time. We enjoyed a great show comfortably after being guided to our seats by friendly helpful employees. The Lyric is a treasure in Baltimore.
The staff here is amazing!! the security professional that was very friendly and helpful in getting us through security, someone sweeping the floor and saw us looking around and asked if they could help us and the concessions people that were very busy but made everyone feel important. Very very nice experience.
The art and history hanging on the walls was great.
It was clean, well maintained and a nice night out.
Hard to tell if acoustics were off or the performer just talking too fast but it got better after first few minutes.
Our seats had a great view but a little cramped of course. No more than expected.
We will be back. Highly recommend.
*Parking info as well*
Attended the Kansas concert on Friday, March 3, 2019. This theater is beautiful and the sound was great! Sitting halfway up the balcony I could still pick out faces and what chords the guitar players were playing
Overall, great experience!
PARKING: A moderately priced public parking garage is within 2-blocks. From the front entrance to the theater it's around the corner to the right across Oliver Street. It was $12 to park 7:30-10:45pm on a Friday night.
I wish the street signs were bigger with clearer directions to the venue from the north.
The front ushers taking tickets and for security were very friendly and kept the line moving very quickly!
GREAT JOB!
The seating ushers however, didn't know the venue. She took us past our seats and we had to double back down at least 6-rows. So more training for them would be great.
I've been there on three separate occasions my daughter girl graduated three times the place is very nice the people were very nice and due to this covid the graduation didn't take that long because they broke graduation down into three parts and that was nice and quick keep up the good work guys
Beautiful facility and acoustics. Very enjoyable experience in Baltimore!
I enjoyed the venue. The Lyric could hold a lot of guests. The only issue is the narrowness of the aisle. Overall it's a nice venue.
First time at this venue, beautiful, not what I expected for a King Diamond concert.
The Show was great, however the parking garage elevators was not working for the money you pay and all those seniors with mobility issues 🙄 …
Great venue to see a show at clean comfortable and no bad seat in the house
Stopped here on date night. Great show by Bert kershner. The line wrapping around the building, the staff was able to admit us in a very timely fashion. They had a great selection of vendors inside for door and beverages. Clean bathrooms too. (I know right!?!) The seating was perfect. The show was amazing. I laughed until I cried. Bert really puts on a good show. Parking was easy. Getting out wasn't bad. The only thing they could have improved was the staff shining their super bright flashlights around while trying to.get people to seating during the show. Dim red lights like we had for night map reading would have done the trick perfectly. All in all, it was an impressive place. I'll definitely attend again.
Just loved me and my lady friend really enjoyed
The inside is still the beautiful old place it was way back when. We used to go to the symphony there before Myerhoff was built. And first date Simon and Garfunkel. Modern outside is real meh but same old cool inside.
Excellent venue to see a live show. All seats have good views. The sound is very good. Bathrooms plentiful and clean. Staff helpful. Pay lot close by and free street parking after 6. Totally worth the 90 minute drive from Philadelphia to see a show. Will return!
75 and the first time there. Saw the Glenn Miller, beautiful inside and out. Great show
concert was great theater was old seating very small, staff was awsome. we had a great time
Beautiful venue, great sound and views from every seat!
The show was pretty nice ; however, it was hard to sit in those horrible seats that were too small for nearly everyone, even the smaller theater goers. The whole row has to get up to let people pass. There is no real railing in the upper levels to hold on to when going up and down the steps. It was an older crowd and this place didn't feel safe at all.
While the event we went to was fabulous, the theater was extremely hot. You could feel the heat wafting down continuously. The show was sold out, so it was very crowded. People around me were stripping down and fanning themselves. It was very distracting and made it hard to focus on the show. We had balcony seats. We did find all the staff we encountered to be friendly and very helpful, but I couldn't wait to get out of there and into cooler air.
Really cool historic theater. The lobby is well laid out but the upstairs bathrooms are in kind of a choke point when the lines are long after the show (but most places are like that, so it's not unexpected). The seats are old and historic, so we very tight together and if you're not a small person you'll be pretty cozy with the person next to you, to put it one way.
Wonderful, open, no blocked sight lines, very helpful staff. Saw the Four Tops and Temptations. Great show.
Intimate setting, not really a bad seat in the theatre. Bathrooms well kept. Attendants friendly and helpful. The only issue, parking. Pray for street parking or use spot hero beforehand. Otherwise, we enjoyed it and have already started planning to go back.
Love the historic theatre with it's ornate colonades and framed artwork. Any seat in the house allows a great view of the stage. The stage was almost too small for the concert performers to easily move around, but the seating and sound system made for a wonderful experience.
Second time there for a concert. I've seen Ledisi and now Monica. Acoustics are great, comfortable chairs.
Great place and the parking attendants were super with helping the garage empty out quickly. We ate at Noona's next to the venue. Good food but I'm not too crazy about craft beers. Was interesting though. The staff in the venue were super friendly and very helpful moving the crowd.
Sat in right box D. The food and drinks are limited but all in all the staff and shows I've seen are great. Parking can be an issue so arrive early or arrange something before hand.
The acoustics are great but the seats are very tight (and I'm a small person) and the stairs very narrow. There are a lot of bathroom stalls so although the lines can get long during intermission and after the shows, they go quickly.
the interior theater is a little dated and there were no top level bars set up although a huge sign directed you up there, but overall I had a good time at the Ledisi concert. The women's restroom line went quick due to there being an adequate number of stalls and restrooms on both levels. I'd return...
The show was great but the drinks were really high for me. 2 beers were 27dallarspus.
Here for graduation but a beautiful venue
Excellent show venue! The staff was very friendly and helpful, Covid-19 mask and social distancing mandates were enforced.
Show was great, and it's still a lovely place. Missed a few jokes due to inept usher seating folks in front of us incorrectly and causing a ton of unneeded shuffling. Jarring lights, being herded out the back doors like cattle, down several flights of concrete stairs with people being denied use of the elevator, to make room for the next show, notsomuch. Only $9 for a shot, so not the worst I have seen.
Saw Patton Oswalt - very funny. Comfy floor seats with ample room for bigger people. Very decent (very convenient!) quick food and cocktail offerings right in the lobby. Yes, you can take it all in to your seat/s in the auditorium. Winner!
Went here to see George Lopez. It was my first time. The Lyric is beautiful inside, it’s outdated in a lovely way. The sound system was great. It was very cold inside though, you could feel the A/C blowing (mind you it was only about 15 degrees outside. The concession wasn’t that great and was extremely overpriced, as expected. Parking was convenient as it was right across the street.
Had a great time at the Wild Kratts show! Beautiful theater, great atmosphere!!!
Show was awesome. Even the opener.
Was very clean and sanitized. Beautiful art work. A suggestion would be more comfortable seating.
Not a bad seat in the place. Great time at the John Cleese event!:
Great concert!
Nice and historic venue. Like most old theaters the seats are too narrow and the seat in front of you is too close. I find it so uncomfortable sitting like that for two hours, and I am pretty average size. If I were 6'4" and/or weighed 250, it would not even be possible to sit.
went to a show yesterday no more paper tickets unless u pay extra$$$ and go through ticketmaster. if you go to the LYRIC your ticket will come in a text or email, go to the Lyric & pay if u can( ONLINE $17.50 more, thats how ticketmaster makes there $$$)
Very nice auditorium. We visited for a podcast taping and had a great time. The seats are older, but well maintained, the concessions were reasonably priced, security was very polite and the restrooms were immaculate.
Rlly nice I saw patton Oswald there and he is funny as ever but tickets are pricey but worth it
To many late comers; jumping up and down. I will only purchase box seats from now on no floor seats.
Great venue. Clear sight lines, good acoustics and semi-comfortable seats (a little narrow but good leg room). Restrooms were clean and commodious and the staff courteous and efficient. Plus, it's a very beautiful theater.
New Jack City was dope
The show itself was great and the venue is mostly well-appointed with friendly staff. However, the seats are an atrocity. I am not a small man; my shoulders measure 24" or more across, and I can barely fit in the seats. My hips squeeze into them and my shoulders spread into the neighboring seats by at least 3-4" on either side. I was plagued with back spasms throughout the show and by the end was stiff and in pain. Easily as cramped as a budget class airplane and equally uncomfortable.
Had front row seats at the John Crist show on March 9, 2019. The staff were VERY helpful and accommodating to my physical disability. I was told I couldn't sit in my chair (which was fine) and they offered to find me an empty box to use instead, I decided to just transfer to the chair and while I'm a BIG dude, I wasn't uncomfortable in the least. Very accessible to boot, can't comment on the rest rooms because I wasn't going to even try to wade through the crowd. HOWEVER... the parking garage. We parked on the 4th floor, took the elevator down, but when we tried to go back to the car after show the elevator wasn't working. When we asked the guy in the booth wasn't surprised, claimed it must have been stuck between floors. I doubt it was the first time.
Caught the Ledisi show at the Lyric. She was awesome and has a voice like no other!
Went here to see the current iteration of Steely Dan. No standing until the last song but a pretty decent venue. Not a bad seat in the house. They sell beer/wine for not terrible prices. Pro tip - at the end of shows, they sell whatever popcorn and chicken sandwiches for $1.
Great space, terrible security setup. We arrived for the 2/8 Jim Gaffigan show and stood in line for over a half hour in frigid temps to get through security. Missed part of the opening act. Show was great, venue was pretty, but would ask that sold out shows have enough staff on hand to get ticket holders into the theater!
Very nice and grand venue. Attended a graduation there and was surprised to be subjected to a metal detector and search.
Wonderful time at the Lyric. I took my mom to see Riverdance and we had seats in the Right Tier. It was a perfect seat to see the stage. The room gets very warm and there is not much room between you and the person next to you. If I had any complaints, it would be the seat spacing. The person next to me was really tall and we did not sit to comfortably.
Great theater, but the sound system for the viewing of The Holy Grail was horrible. They should have tapped into the loudspeakers, but it seemed as if we were all trying to hear the TV's speaker on the stage, instead. The movie is old, with poor fidelity to begin with... making it next to impossible to discern most of the dialog from the balcony seats. Otherwise, the venue and staff were great.
Place is beautiful but not handicapped friendly. No hand rails for the stairs inside the theater. Saw a number of ppl with canes and crutches who were having somewhat of a difficult time. I myself have a visual disability and at times need to grab a railing on the stairs. Other than that...the show was wonderful. Install hand rails...pls.
It is a good sized venue with nearby parking garage. Even if you are sitting far away you feel close. The lousy thing is there is basically zero legroom in the seats. If you have long legs I strongly recommend getting an aisle seat.
Nice building to see a show. Not a bad seat in the place.
Parking is difficult. The parking structure a couple of blocks away is a short walk, but set up poorly.
You pay when you exit instead of when entering. It took us over an hour to get out of the structure.
It was very nice and clean. It was alot of street parking. We went to see Ledisi
This place is absolutely the best spot to take your kids to see a show, Blippi Live & Peppa Pig Live was tremendous!
The seating is very comfortable. The speech to text is fairly quick and accurate. The temperature was appropriate and the light and sound were amazing. Been many times before and will continue to attend events in the future.
It's a nice venue for an event. However, I wish there were more seating in the lobby area for seniors to have a seat, while members of their party are using the restrooms or going to get the car.
Great venue!!!! The acoustics were phenomenal!!! Intimate setting and not a bad seat in the house!!!
Comfortable but we were asked to arrive 1 hour 30 minutes early for security processing. But there weren't many people there and so the long wait proved unnecessary even though the theater was filled at performance time.
Building is slightly dated. Food and drink during shows pricey. Not overly impressed with acoustics inside performance area but not a deal breaker. If possible park and uber to venue. Nearest garage is 15$ and took 45min to get out of after show. Venue gets the job done but would not be thrilled to go back.
Came for the Jojo Siwa concert. Perfect place for it! Not too overwhelmingly large, easy to see the stage from any seat. Our box seats were almost at the stage. Beautiful space, and the very helpful employees made for a great experience. Highly recommend! Ta'Nya approved!
The building is historic which makes it a challenge when it comes to handicap accessibility. The bathroom is accessible, but all of the auditorium doors are original and not ADA compliant. Other than access, the venue is beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly.
Go early, lines for security and concessions get insane closer to showtimes. Buy your tickets directly from the box office, and the fella there will give you good tips about which seats are good/ not great. And then you also don't have to pay Ticketmaster fees!
The venue was clean and offered a nice selection of food and drinks but the seats are so small and close together at 5 feet tall my knees were less than an inch from the seats in front of me .. my husband at 6'2" was bent up like a pretzel.
They no longer offer coat/bag checks, so be aware. Oddly, women can still bring big purses, but men can't have bags.
My Sister-Cousin(cousins who are like sisters)and I visited the Lyric to see Pride & Joy: The Marvin Gaye Musical.
Great performance; Great Music; spiritual/
R & B entertainment. Convenient reasonably price parking nearby was also a plus.
Have been to the Lyric a few times love it.
The seats were great
Good seating, great service
The place is a very nice place to go see a show or a band the staff that works there are very friendly and nice I had a good time.
Beautiful location, wonderful performance. I really enjoyed the Celtic show.
Ringo and his band were terrific.
I was about three years ago for an ArtScape performance. Two years ago for my college orientation and four weeks ago for my graduation from that college. The venue is older and could use some updates like new seats and a new stage floor but the performances are very diverse and I would attend them if I had the money to do so. Their tickets can be pricy but the artist are great. Check out their website for information on the shows.
Easy parking smooth entrance clean bathrooms great concert
Very nice atmosphere. People truly carry themselves in a adult matter, chilled relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a show. 😎🥰😇 …
Good theatre but it has it's plusses and minus. I had box seat on the side which was very comfortable (major plus) but the sound quality over there was poor and as highs and lows weren't well balanced [high side was very muddy] (big minus).
Had a great time at John Mellencamp's concert. Only drawback are side balcony seating that are at 90 degrees to stage so that people must turn their heads or bodies to see stage. Acoustics are great and the decor is gorgeous.
The Lyric is a beautiful, old building, truly an icon. I attended a solo performance of Bill Maher. Attendees were still using phones up through the first bit of the performance. Very annoying. Sound good, lighting good.
It was a great show...however it has lost it's appeal.
I really like what they've done with the place. A much deserved renovation and my seat/view was amazing! Nice medium sized venue. #mybmore
Brandy brought out a nice audience.
Chris Rock was GREAT!! Its the perfect sized venue for a comedy show.
This is a really cool venue, however the the seats were extremely uncomfortable in the balcony.
Saw Joe Gatto. Great place.
Nice sized venue. Not a bad seat as far as view but very cramped seats. Very poor security setup. Free-for-all, everyone crowding in at once with no organization.
Went to see Pride and Joy Marvin Gaye Play. The play was awesome and the venue was nice. My only complaint was it was a little too cold but I brought a jacket to put over me.
Nice seats and clear view of the stage from all seating options!
The building itself is fine but there were only two workers behind the counter with very long lines and only a 15 minute intermission. After the show my 85 year old mom and I waited a bit for the crowd to disperse when an usher began shining his flashlight in our eyes. We were not far from him and a simple "Excuse me ladies....." would have been kind. Instead, I had to try and get my mom down the balcony steps with no railing after having this man repeatedly shine his flashlight directly at us. Quite unprofessional.
My brother and I saw the Beatles tribute, Rain, and had a good time. Plenty of good food nearby, and we found cheap parking with no problems.
Good view from any seat but high price concessions and drinks.
The acoustics are great and the shows start on time. The only drawback is that the seats are narrow and there is no middle aisle on the lower level orchestra section.
Good venue for shows of all types. Seats could use a refresh. Biggest problem was the ushers/security not doing anything to move the lines, or "usher."
It was loving and organized really appreciate it just wasn't on time but over all nothing perfect.
Seats are tight, ushers are hit and miss rude or nice. The performances they attract are excellent. Beverage prices are absurd as expected.
Great venue and lots of parking nearby! My family and I were here to see Blippi!
Brandy gave an excellent show. She danced, interacted w/her fans and sung her face off!!! Her voice has gotten better!!! Had a great time👍🔥💃🎉😁 …
The Lyric is a fun venue! It is easy to get to and there aren't really any bad seats. Concessions are also pretty reasonable for a venue.
Fantastic experience overall. I highly enjoyed the show I saw and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. If the opportunity arises, I will certainly return for another show!
We had a great time at the Lyric theater, the show was great. Seat were a little tight. Drinks were good just expensive.
My favorite venue! Reasonable, great acts, not too big, great acoustics lots of pre-show or post-show options in walking distance and plenty of on street parking.
I absolutely loved our experience at this Theater! Everyone was so kind and the space was clean. Our view was awesome in Tier L row C.
We attended a screening of Monty Python's The Holy Grail followed by a Q&A with John Cleese. Beautiful venue and reasonable prices. Would love to see another show here.
The Lyric is a nice small theatre. All the seats have a good view of the stage. It is located near some restaurants and a light rail station.
Saw standup comedy, enjoyed the show. Staff was courteous and available. Seats could use an uplift. My view was great from the second row. 😉 …
Great intimate theatre. Every seat is a good one.
Great place for a show, parking isnt too bad might have have to walk a block or two. Seats were a little small but it is a older theater.
The surrounding area is rebuilding with good choice of restaurants beforehand. Bathrooms are spacious with little to no wait. Staff is very professional and helpful. Choice of snacks and drinks. Great facility!
Very nice venue with friendly staff. Close parking garage is nice.
Celtic thunder was amazing!!!
We had a group of people in our row who would not get up so we go to restroom. So we had to inconvenience people on the other end of the row.
Bring back Celtic thunder every year
Nice theater have been here for a few comedians and stomp seating it has been good and get a front and the back parking is reasonable drinks during intermission or before the show could be better
A most excellent old venue... But either the show I saw or the venue sound system needed work because everyone in my party and those near us complained that the words weren't clear enough to always be understood.
Nice place, little outdated with the seating but other all of that, had a great time..
Gorgeous theater, very stately and has a feeling of antique authenticity. The sound quality and outing are great. I recommend seeing shows here
Great show for R&B fans
Beautiful venue. Everything was well organized and staff was very friendly and helpful.
Seen Chris Rock. Post the slap it was excellent. wasn't comfortable with having my phone blocked, but it was worth it.
Good people and Great 🎶 Music All in one spot! I Give the Lyric 2 👍🏽👍🏽! ! ! ! …
Nice, clean venue. Good views from seats. The seats themselves are a little on the small side, but good enough for an hour or 2 show.
Nice atmosphere. Had good seats for last minute tickets for Jim Gaffigan. Seats were tight but comfortable.
A great venue for a concert or show. Close and convenient parking nearby. Just the right size and most seats have a great view of the stage.
Classic theater experience. We had box seats very good to see and hear everything. Very organized and professional environment.
The theater was very nice. Seats were tight lol ... Bigger than I thought it would be. The staff was friendly and helpful
We saw disney live. Seats had a good view. Lots of staff providing assistance. Seats were comfortable.
Everything was great, the people working there were helpful and courteous. Has a great time.
This Professional A-Cappella ensemble rocked the house!!! Remember their name, "Straight No Chaser". They perform nationwide and if you hear that they are coming to a local venue - please check them out.
We saw Bill Burr here and it was awesome. There's a parking garage right behind here, so it is really convenient. I wish they had designed a better exit strategy though.
Great venue . Small seats for a big guy
Lovely show and mostly good seats thru out. Lobby spacious and handled large crowd well
We enjoyed the concert. It's a nice venue. As long a everyone is seated. We could see the show clearly.
Always a pleasant staff and atmosphere. Made my son's Graduation from University of Baltimore- Graduate School much more memorable.
If you ever wondered what it was like to go to the theater in 1970s, then just buy a ticket to an event at The Lyric in Baltimore.
Staff very friendly and pleasant but there should be up buy the balcony you should be able to feel the music as well as see the show
I saw Ms. Anita Baker perform there and the show was fantastic! I had never been to that venue before. I thought it was a beautiful place and I enjoyed myself there.
Wow!! Joe Bonamassa show at this Venue was Amazing!!
Be prepared for long security lines before the show! Otherwise, was a lovely experience despite the latecomers who were blocking our view at times when finding their seats
Wonderful. Went to colkege graduation there. Great time
The Lyric is beautiful! Wonderful concert experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hope to return soon.
I love attending R and B concerts and musical plays at the Baltimore Lyric. What a beautiful place with a wonderful atmosphere.
Mannheim Steamroller music and visual effects were terrific. Hope to see them at Modell Lyric again someday.
It's a very good and beautiful event center.
Haven't been here in awhile you have to go through metal and wand scanners for security really comforting. Saw the beach boys one of the best concerts I have been to.
Great venue for comedy shows & live entertainment.
Really enjoyed this venue. Good drinks and I loved that every seat is a good seat. Will def be back.
Went there once, Sesame Street show with my son. Seating was fairly bad, we were in a small crowded booth and it was hard for my son to see the scene.
Great place, Great show!!!
Great venue to be up close to see some shows. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The venue needs some more updating.
Beautiful venue, comfortable seats. The acoustics aren't as good as the nearby Meyerhof. Grand architecture.
Alton Brown in tha house!!!
Have seen several good shows here. A really nice older (historic) venue. Parking lot is very close by.
Great location, very beautiful theater. They also have a eclectic variety of events that I love.
The CeCe Winands concert with the BSO and Morgan State Choir was great worth every penny will plan to go in 2020😁. …
We saw the Bridge play there in the lobby of the place. Packed house and the acoustics were amazing, considering they played in the large lobby area!
Very nice set up the only issue I had though are the chairs are not ment to accommodate people who are larger or taller then normal.
Adequate place to see a show. Definitely not in it's prime, but the sound quality was great, and the space was comfortable.
Chris Rock was so funny! Great staff of ushers!
Love the center. Great shows. Parking has a lot to be desired. At night prefer to walk on groups.
The soul jam was awesome.
Great venue. We were there to watch the Dancing with the Stars tour. There is good parking nearby also.
Wow.. very nice place..
But need more cleaning
When you buy the seats online you have to get there early cause people will take it. We s
Great place but no enough leg room
Tim Dillon lived up to the hype, great time!!
Amazing facility and acoustics. Seat width is a bit smaller, but would never miss a show here.
Beautiful place, but be mindful of the spacing of the seats on the floor level...still a great experience.
A fantastic venue for most any type of entertainment!
Beautiful old theatre. Cramped little seats, just like I expected but there isn't a bad seat in the house.
Relatively easy to navigate especially once you have been there before.
Parking is limited and cash only, but I was surprised by the venue. Place was nice, plenty of seating, and the staff were great
Celebrated Maryland University of Integrative Health graduation, my Granddaughter Sierra K. C. received her Master's of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health. What an AWESOME day!!!
❤❤❤⚘⚘⚘🎉🎉🎉🎉🎓🎓🎓🎓 …
The seats are uncomfortable and there is no leg room.. There is only one elevator. One restroom per floor and when you use the restroom there is a staff member yelling hurry up ladies because the line is long
Sitting was crowded but the show was awsome seen George Lopez not a bad seat in the house
An amazing place to see a concert. Small venue with great views of that age and wonderful sound.
Saw the US Army Field Band Holiday Concert! I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and the venue!
Clean and comfortable venue with good sight lines from just about everywhere. They serve booze and snacks too.
I like going to Modells lyric opera house..but the Marvin Gay Pride in Joy musical wasn't that good they left out alot of important details.... they should've worked on it a little more
Ok place, and I horrible parking.
Avoid "RAIN" the Beatles cover band it is tiresome and they sound like people faking British accents.
Love this venue. No matter where you sit, you always have a great seat!
Great venue. Friendly staff. Comfortable seating. Reasonably priced concessions.
Always a fun time whether we come see the Impractical Jokers or Sesame Street. Having the light rail so close is convenient too.
No bad seats in the house
Beautiful, large, and spacious. Seating was comfortable for the 2 hour event I attended.
Every seat has a good view. Had great experience at Brit Floyd concert.
We saw Sebastian Maniscalco at this theater. All of the seats seemed to be good ones. It is a quaint theater. We enjoyed the atmosphere.
Jackson Browne concert. Excellent venue
You don't have any space to move around no matter what size u r they made those seats for children
Only bad part about this place is the parking garage is 3 blocks away. Parking at meter nearby is ok, because the University of Baltimore police patrol the area very heavily.
Really nice venue. Easy access from exterior and interior. Nice looking inside and out as well.
Loved seeing Theresa Caputo at the Lyric. The Lyric has a personal feel especially when she spoke to audience members one on one.
Need bigger seats
Great Place To See A Show. I Have Always Enjoyed Myself At Each Show I Have Attended.
It was a nice environment...
Great shows for adults and kids. The head usher there was so friendly & helpful.
Just saw Yandy Smith and Iyanyi down lyric it was powerful
Awesome theater.
It was amazing!!!! Seats were great. Saw Diana Ross!!!! Will definitely go there again!!!!
Beautiful theater, but the seats are not made for tall people.
Omg the bathrooms were clean and smelled fresh!!!!!!!!!! Rickey Smiley was everything, love him!!!
Great Venue! Great Show! ( Brit Floyd)
Best time ever. Seats could be more comfortable. Great performance
Celtic Thunder was Amazing! The Lyric was Beautiful and staff is helpful and very friendly!
Very nice, sizeable theatre. Well kept and security which is a comfortable bonus
One of my favorite places to enjoy an evening with family and/or friends!
Great show good place to see a band
Staff was friendly snd very accommodating with my injury
Great show and facility. I wish the location were a bit better but i doubt that'll happen ;)
Always nice to see shows here. The classic old theater look with ornate touches.
Did go into center. Way too crowded but i did get some pictures. Enjoyed the artworks.
Great atmosphere, courteous security, seat are a little cramp but otherwise great.
Seating very uncomfortably, sat through a graduation. Could not wait until it was over, I am 6'3" bad seating.
Beautiful theater great acoustics with definitely go back again to see another play
Beautiful place, great comedy from Jim Gaffigan, ....but not enough staff for the amount of people.
Wonderful auditorium and seating. Going to an event there is a real pleasure.
90s show was FIRE. I wish it was promoted more. The performers deserved a packed house not 1/3 house.
Enjoyed performing there with my group (the Chi-Lites)! Hope we can come back.
Older facility but Rickey Smiley put on a great show
Great show. Perfect seating arrangement, every seat is a good seat.
All seated venue. Old school style opera house. Amazing acoustics!!
It was a Nice concert. The seats are really close on top of each other.
great performance, chairs are too close together and no air circulation.
Historical theater, tight leg room, nice venue, no bad seats from stage
No bad seats, we'll be back!
Beautiful theatre a real classic
Loved the Art District and Venue.
Absolutely stunning theatre.
LEDISI WAS PHENOMENAL, PER USUAL 🙌🏽🙌🏽 …
We had our 70th commencement at BCCC there. Beautiful graduation day
Loved the concert! The staff team was very welcoming!
Beautiful theater, small seats.
Took the kids to see the live performance of A Charlie Brown Christmas. A good time had by all.
Great show! We saw Aziz and the entire set was 🔥👌🏼 …
Nice venue and nice performance but poor crowd control when entering.
I needed help for a show in October, this very nice lady help me get great place to enjoy the show!
There is a weird empty room connected to the men's bathroom on the lower level... pretty chill if you ask me...
Had a great time at the 90's concert. Very beautiful inside.
Would like to see some real food.
Had a great time / wish seats col uh d a little larger
Classic design, great seats throughout....if only a little wider
Nice venue, great sound was hot up in the balcony back
Great venue for concert. Serves beer and win too.
Love this place its classy ...only issue those seats are tiny and only 180lbs ...
Prices at the concession stand were a little high
Very bad for a comedy show. Venue is rectangular so the back seats are really far away
Great service and atmosphere. High price food and beverage. Overall experience was nice.
Rows are too long. God forbid you sit in the middle you have to wade through an ocean of people on either side just to go to the bathroom
A great place to see a show. Steely Dan sounded incredible there.
Saw a Zelda concert there! It was amazing! Do recommend.
Why aren't there hand rails going up and down the stairs on the balcony level? This is a real safety hazard.
Excellent customer service, great parking.
The performance was definitely on point!
Had fun. Seating area or arrangements at the front was a bit weird but hey I enjoyed myself.
Beautiful place acoustics are excellent, parking just around the corner
Very historic look and feel, sound was great at the concert I attended.
Very Intimate Space that makes one feel like any seat is A Good one !
Very nice!!! Awesome show with the Temptations and the Four Tops
Great venue, small so all seats are a hit.
Beautiful place - saw the Nut Cracker! Good seats too!
Great seat but the temp was a bit warm!
The seats are too close to each other and too many hard to see spots. There needs to be monitors around
Great theater. There is not a bad seat in the house.
Always a wonderful venue for music.
This was my first time seeing a show there. It was nice
Classic theater venue. Seating is tight, but workable.
Good place to enjoy good music.
Awesome. Loved the seating.
Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Love this theater
It was amazing seeing John Cleese and watching the Holy Grail on the big screen again!
