Reviews of Spotlighters Theatre

Spotlighters Theatre is a hidden gem and a fantastic experience! When they say "intimate" setting, you're still not prepared for just how close you'll be to the actors on stage. I love the setting, the connection to history over the years and the dedication to providing high-quality live theatre. So glad they survived the pandemic!

Although the theater is tiny and the bathrooms are tinier the overall play the production of the play it was awesome and on this little small square stage the play was so great that it had your mind imagining everything that was going on it was awesome I loved it.

Another fantastic night. Great performance in a setting that puts you into the action. I am already looking forward to the next show!
So this is still true. The spotlighter theater never fails to provide a great evening of wonder. This time around we saw a Shakespearean classic. Yet, we are looking forward to our next performance.

Okay, so it's a small, older theatre - they are working on a move within 5 years. Don't wait, as it's definitely worth going now. The cast always is great and they perform with such enthusiasm it's impossible not to get drawn into the action. We've gone about 5 or 6 times and have found it to be consistently good, too. Reasonable prices, friendly people, round theatre set up. Ignore the less than perfect physical situation and be transported to a different place in time.

This is a small intimate 360 degree theatre. There's not a bad seat in the place! Your seat can only be as many as three rows back. I've been to two shows (Three Penny Opera and Pygmalion) here now and they did not disappoint. The theatre provides a lobby with seating and snacks (chocolate bars, cookies, and goldfish) and drink (including wine and coffee). The parking garages are not too far away.

This was my daughter and my first time and we loved the play. Had a great time!!

Gorgeous theatre in the heart of Baltimore. Tucked away, but it's worth the trip just for the beautiful architecture. Check out a play while you're there!

We work on a boat and come to Baltimore a few times a year. Every time we make sure we see the shows at the Spotlighters. The theater is in the round so you can change seats during the intermission if you want a different view.
The actors are great! We just saw "The man who came to dinner" and it was spectacular! Just great.
They serve wine, coffee and cookies during intermission and its all cheap. A dollar for a bag of cookies or a coffee. Really fair prices. I think the price of a show is about 20 bucks. This is really cheap! About the same price as a movie theater, but with live actors and cheap munchies. Really a great deal and well worth the night! Can't wait for our next visit.

The most creative, upbeat, friendly little local theater!

I had a good time being in a performance at this venue. The audience told me they enjoyed their experience, so I think it was good from their point of view, as well. It has a nice theatrical feel, with a 360° stage.

Loved every moment I got to work with this theatre; a very professional experience both on the stage and in the audience. Great theater! Well worth seeing a show.

I've been to this theater a few times and have never been disappointed. It's a small theater with 70 odd seats and you get to experience the play up-close. It's one of a kind experience wrt the stage-settings, lighting, sound, etc.

A great little theatre in Baltimore! Intimate and in the round with general seating, so you hey to choose your own seat! Great staff and professional, polished productions... highly recommend seeing a production here.

Community Theater is Alive and Well in this unique theatrical destination in the heart of Baltimore's Mount Vernon neighborhood. Spotlighters is an unassuming, alleyway Theatre that hosts a bevy of local and widely-known productions in a unique setting. Spotlighters is set up in the round, albeit more literally a square shape, which essentially means there isn't a bad seat in the house. The staff at spotlighters have Decades of experience in community and professional theater so the Productions feel Like A step above your traditional $10 ticket. They also host Community organizations for special events and Productions in their Cabaret program. Definitely worth the visit for this unique theatrical experience.

We've seen about a dozen shows at Spotlighters. Some (e.g.Two Trains Running) are quite good for a nonprofessional company. But last night's Judy and the General was only tolerable.
Don't sit in the section closest to the air conditioners.

Everybody was so nice, the play was fantastic, and the environment was cozy. Thanks!

Small non-equity regional theater. The performance space is surrounded by four rows of seats, so the spectators are up close and personal with the performance. The productions are hit or miss, mostly hit, and worth taking the risk.

spotlighters is a remarkably plucky little local theater company. It's extraordinary that they have been able to carry on such ambitious productions in such a small space for such a long time.

Very intimate theater, great plays, wonderful staff. I even enjoyed refreshments during intermission. This is now one of my favorites.

Fuzz does a great job running this theater. It's a fun place with an interesting performance space and a good rotation of talented directors, techs, and actors.

Delightful intimate theater-in-the-round. Always solid productions. Quaint basement, artsy location. A little hard to find, but your GPS will take you right to it. Street parking only.
