Reviews of Aurora Theatre
Stunning theater in the heart of Lawrenceville. It’s big and beautiful, with a cute interior and a small concessions stand. I think just about any seat in this theater would be great…it’s not too big and not too small. A great size and shape for a community theater! Beautiful lighting and sound…wonderful orchestra!!!
My wife and I love this theater. It is small and the seats are soft and comfortable. We have been to 2 performances here Mama Mia and the adaptation of the movie Clue. Clue was really well done and the actors were fantastic. The parking is free and the parking deck has a door directly into the theater.
Super great! Everyone from staff to performers and audience was awesome! It was nice because the performers were interacting with the audience. I will return :)
This Theatre was very nice and cozy inside. Also had refreshments and beverages. It reminded me of Broadway shows in NY that I miss living in Georgia. The show we saw was amazing The Sam Cooke Story. This month playing is Unforgettable the Story of Nat King and Natalie Cole. Can't wait to see it ❤
Even though I was there for part of my job (yesterday, Oct.10)... I totally liked the theater... It has a parking and other facilities that are accessable...
Has plenty of restrooms and great sounding...
I would like to stop by and see/watch some of the programs. Have a wonderful day.
Great local theatre to visit for plays. The one man “A Christmas Carole” on the smaller stage was amazing! I would recommend the larger full cast plays as well. Christmas Canteen was very well done!
The Aurora Theater has quality entertainment for all ages.
We visited for the 1st time for Motown Christmas, and we didn't know what to expect. The theater was rather intimate and the show was fun, jovial and interactive that had us leaving with smiles on our faces. Parking can be a bit of a challenge because the parking deck fills up when theres another show going on at the LAC. Although there is municpal parking about 2 blocks away.
We saw Christmas Canteen what a wonderful show. They are also having a food drive and you vote for your favorite tree using non perisble items. We went with family friends who graciously invited us to join the them for the show
We have been contributing members for over 10 years. Great venues for seeing local artists performing at a professional level and see up and coming performers too. New facility is nice except stage is too high for several rows and not enough leg room between rows. Free covered parking is greatly appreciated.
The Children’s Playhouse programming is a mixed bag. Some of the shows that they have for the Children’s Playhouse are sub par, and some (like “That Puppet Guy”) is amazing. The guy at the beginning who comes on stage to give the announcements is often long-winded, and it takes a while for the show to actually begin. It is the same speak every time, and it is really energy sucking prior to the show, especially when you have small toddlers in tow.
If you are not going to a show at Aurora Theatre, you are really missing out on a great opportunity. This is a talented, professional organization that still is at heart a genuine community troupe. The new facility is amazing!
Very nice venue and awesome performance of Canteen Christmas!
I recently revisited a live performance theater venue in historic Lawrenceville GA. This return visit was to attend A Christmas Carol and see the new theater’s new venue. The Aurora Theater had its beginnings from the purchase of a 100-year-old church that was transformed into a $7.5 million theatre complex. After a couple of years of construction that started before the pandemic, it expanded its footprint. Now totaling a 35 million dollar theater venue, the Aurora Theater is the anchor to the new Lawrenceville Performing Arts Center. It’s a beautiful, friendly, stately, yet comfortable performing arts venue.
Parking is abundant, well-lit, and apparently safe at one of the two complementary parking deck structures. There is ample free parking available on the streets as well. Plus, the theater is surrounded by restaurants, shops, and various green spaces. If you haven’t visited, then the town square is worth a trip in itself.
A performance of A Christmas Carol delivered by the talented Anthony Rodriguez was the highlight of venturing to the newly opened theater complex. It was an exhilarating one-man adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. As if the author narrated the performance, Anthony wove a story through his varied voices combined with his dynamic artistic pageantry. He truly brought notable characters and scenes from the cherished and familiar yet timeless Christmas story to life. It was quite the treat! Anthony’s delivered a brilliant, mesmerizing performance.
This place is truly magical and is like one of those places you may have visited yourself in childhood. The memories we made here the other day were great. This is a historic theatre that features everything from puppet shows to large-scale traditional actor productions. It is situated on the historic Lawrenceville square, where there are plenty of great places to eat and drink either before or after any show.
Back in the original theater with KIM'S CONVENIENCE, the Aurora one again presents a masterfully staged, acted, and directed gem.
Absolutely loved it, got to see a Christmas juggling show. I'm so going back soon to see a new show!
Truly one of our family’s favorite places ever! The shows are so incredible and their education programs are fabulous. My son is finishing yet another summer camp there and it’s been a blast! Thank you, thank you to the Aurora team for bringing in-person camps back for our kids this summer & in such a safe, uplifting way!! Happiest my son has been in a long time!
Awesome, awesome theatre! The newish space is gorgeous. The shows are highly professionally produced. Every seat is a good one. Definitely recommend. This is a Lawrenceville gem.
This place is amazing! I'm in love with the intimate setting, and friendliness of the staff.
With a trip to the local tavern, follwed by the show; it made for an amazing date away from baby!
Thank you for such an awesome experience!
Our first time going we saw a puppet show. The theatre was so cute, and beautifully decorated for Christmas. I appreciate that they were doing canned food drives for local shelters. They offered bags of snacks and drinks for a reasonable price before the show. The bathrooms were very clean. My daughter loved the show! We will definitely be back!
Awesome little place. We'll come back for sure. We were a little disappointed that the "Halloween magic show" had nothing to do with Halloween. It was a fun little magic show, just false advertising. Someone in marketing was having too much freedom.
Love, love, love this Lawrenceville Arts Center. We listened to Club Babalu last weekend and jammed to some great music. And we saw Mary Poppins last night... What a terrific and timeless musical for the ages!
Great venue, all seats are good. Had a great time seeing Henry Cho. Go early because parking garage fills up and you need to find alternatives beforehand.
Awesome small town theater. The small theater gives you an intimate experience and I doubt there is a bad seat in the house, but the cast and crew put on very high level production.
UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW: I recently wrote a negative review detailing an poor customer service experience with the theater. However, within three business days, I was contacted by the Box Office Manager who was most apologetic for the misunderstanding and made a true effort to resolve the issue to my satisfaction. I truly appreciated their attention to resolving the issue and once again feel confident in recommending the theater.
Enjoyed the outside ghost tour. Great location for families at a historical downtown area. Free parking. I would recomend for sure.
Cozy theater, Clean throughout, Comfortable seating. Christmas Canteen was AMAZING. Perfect family outing. 🎄 ⛄ …
The Lawrenceville Ghost tour was pretty great. It's not scary at all. Super family friendly.
Fantastic productions in an intimate and beautiful setting! The band is top rate and the staff is kind and attentive. They offer classes and a variety of ways for the community to be involved in the arts.
I have been searching for a family spot like this. We recently moved to the area and our first event here was Arthur Atsma's magic show. My kids were enthralled and now all want to become tiny magicians. We will definitely be back for more events and shows.
The show there was nice but selling there was not a great idea no one made money not ever doing that kind of event again 😖😔 …
Kim's Convenience. Go see it! Marvelously executed and well worth your time. So much of this was brought to the TV show, but the changes and ending were great!

Consistently strong performances, great stage and scenery buildouts, fantastic musical scoring, CHRISTMAS SHOWS THAT ARE AMAZING, and a staff that is always cheerful and willing to help with any needs. Proud to be a season ticket holder for three consecutive seasons so far and many more to come! Go ahead, give them a try!
Outstanding venue. My family and I have attended several performances here, and we love them! Staff is very friendly, performances are always entertaining, and the facility is very clean. There is plenty of parking in the multi-level structure that is attached to the theater. The theater seating is comfortable, with cushioned seats. There is a small snack bar inside, although im unsure what tome it is running. Overall a freat placefor kids interested in theatre. It seems they have theater clubs or camps for young children, although my boys are not at that point yet!
I went to go see Mama Mia! last night, this production of it was amazing, and I would 100% go see it again! I loved every moment of it and my heart was fill with a wonderful song I was ready to cry when it was time to go because it was just that good! I love GGC and the Aurora!!!!
The one-man performance of A Christmas Carol by Anthony Rodriguez was outstanding as always. A must to see and experience.
Kim's Convenience was a hoot. It was. Well acted and very funny.
Enjoyed the high school production we attended. Nice venue and adorable theater space.
One of the two stages in the theater is a small intimate area that allows some interaction with the audience! On my way to see "This (It's a) Wonderful Life", a one- man show, I wondered how one actor could play all the parts effectively! My question was answered by the performance of Jeremy Agrees who brought the story to life before our eyes! The show has ended for this year, but if it comes back in 2020, be sure to see it! In the meantime, check out the Aurora Theater! You won't be disappointed!
Just enjoyed the Christmas canteen at Aurora. INCREDIBLE!!!
it was like Broadway was brought to Lawrenceville Georgia
Great Christmas Canteen this year. I missed the armed forces songs for each division.
A wonderful theatrical venue for live performances. If you have not been, I highly suggest you check it out. They have an intimate theater as well as one that is a bit larger scale. Wonderful hospitality Provided by guest services and and the ushers are charming! Plus, there's ample free parking, and lots of restaurant choices and stores nearby. All in walking distance in the downtown Lawrenceville square area.
This is a wonderful place. We've seen several plays and we are never disappointed. My kids loved the summer camps so much that they like to come back s volunteer TAs. We miss Renita, though, but her future is bright! Don't miss the Christmas Canteen!
Very hit or miss with their shows. Be sure to read the description of the show you are going to.
Enjoyed the American psycho comedy tonight at the historic theater which is called metro water proofing. It's been updated fresh paint (I missed seeing the old show posters) updated restrooms....floors looked amazing BUT the plumbers definitely need to come back and fix those wave flush things bc they DO NOT work also the auto hand towel dispensers don't work in either the men's or women's! Sure hope that the art that is usually for sale is put back out too!
Everything about this place is wonderful. The spaces are great and the shows are always top notch. It's also really nice to see the founders hanging around talking to patrons after shows.
FANTASTIC performance of Mary Poppins. Bravo to actors, set crew, orchestra!
It's just not the best show in town; it's the best place in the state. A true jewel.
Facilities have been updated, upgraded, and hydragraded...she so fine.
Amazing, Broadway quality show! My daughter cried, laughed, cheered and kept hitting me during the show.
always a great show and experience since the upgrade!
This brand new facility is wonderful. Well laid out. Great concession stand. Only hiccup was parking in the structure next door was tough. Everything else was top notch. Great job Aurora!
Great local theater in the heart of downtown, easy walk from any number of restaurants making for a good date night. Went for a musical tribute to Ladies of the 80's and look forward to Men of Motown and some of the other upcoming shows.
If you are into theater this is definitely a place that you want to check out
Really wonderful theater. Loved seeing the Nutcracker. I'd suggest they add some signage pointing to the balcony though. It was really hard to find. A small sign would fix that.
Great theatre! Wonderful space & staff🎭 Awesome sensory performances, thanks!! …
It was a really nice place! Im so glad it was connected to the public parking deck. Make sure to eat and drink before going in because they will try to sell you 3 dollar snacks and 4 dollar coffee.
A great place to enjoy theater, comedy, and socialize for all age groups. A superb list of events for adults and children delivered to you by professional staff and actors, in a comfortable state of the art theater that is easy to get to.
I've seen several performances for both adults and children. All have been very enjoyable. Les Mis was phenomenal, and I was blown away by the set and performers. The children theater was such fun for my 5 yo. Nice ambiance. Good ticket prices. They have punch cards for purchase for the children's theater. Highly recommend.
Took Grandbabies to a magic show... awesome, close up experience.
Visiting for a community meeting, not a performance. Great facility, super clean, and amazing that the Lawrenceville parking structure has a doorway in to the theater.
Update: I believe mask restrictions are lightened. We're allowed to forego masks if vaccinated when attending PFLAG meetings.
Great addition to DT Lawrenceville. Been there many times. Good for kifs and adults alike depending on the specific show. Had no trouble parking behind in the garage.
Simply amazing. The building has a great back story and the shows have amazingly talented actors!!
Wonderful performance! Beautiful theatre!
My kids had so much fun at a magic show today. Ticket prices are so reasonable and it was a fun thing to do on a rainy day.
My favorite professional theater in Georgia. Excellent musical theater productions. Prices for season tickets are affordable. Accommodating staff. Director and producers are warm and engaged.
An amazing theatre experience. Wonderful shows, great production values. A friendly staff and an amazing production team. Go! See a show! Support the best theatre experience anywhere near Atlanta Georgia. It's in Lawrenceville which makes it easily accessible and parking is free. Ticket prices are incredibly affordable.
We've been to several performances: some big, some smaller, kid productions, and recently a one man show, and all of them surpassed expectations! It's a small town theater feel and pricing but with big town flair. Casting, sets, and special effects are sure to impress. Highly recommend!
Amazing Theater! Saw Mamma Mia today and I’m so glad I did! Such great singers and dancers, it’s obvious they love what they do and we’re in to every song! Put so much effort and care into the show though they had probably performed it so many times. Would definitely visit again!!
This was our first visit to the theater, and it was a pure delight. It was easy to get our tickets, the volunteers at the concessions were helpful and the theater was nice and quaint. It was as if the actors were performing directly for just my family.
It was a wonderful experience, and I cannot wait for the next show to come to the theater!
We went to see the Christmas Canteen for our first time. It was nothing whatsoever like what we had expected - we were completely blown away by it, from start to finish. Funny, entertaining, touching - name it, and it was, all that and more. Great little theater, excellent performers, an all around outstanding experience.
I went to see a performance after an NPR review. I've been a season ticket holder ever since. I'm from NY so I'm used to Broadway. I've been to the Fox, London theater, etc. Aurora' s my favorite. The sets are fabulous, the talent is superb, and free parking. Best kept secret in theater.
We loved Christmas Canteen. And the venue was awesome. No bad seats. Acoustics were great. We could hear everything said and sung. Never too loud.
Close by parking and easy access. I only wish it was closer to us.
Love Aurora, I did and still am acting at this theater. Their staff are amazing and all the staff that work with beginner actors or young actors like myself are very kind. Since I’ve only done acting in small “plays “ and have done a musical theater play I have felt very comfortable with all the kids my age and the staff. At first when my mom had first signed me up I was really nervous because for one I was going to be in the youngest grade they offered for the 6th through 8th and for the second reason because I was really nervous about how the people that were going to perform with me were going to react to
My acting skills because I am and was a beginner. If your thinking of signing your child up for the acting classes or Musical theater opportunities I would really recommend it. I made many new friends and have improved my acting so much because of this experience.
*I also recommend going to some of their performances at this Theater :)*
Nice theater with tons of small scale shows for students. They even have a connected parking lot, which is free. How great is that. The last time I was there, they have a photo booth that can send link of my photos to my phone. They recently involve with Gwinnett College to create a new theater experience for students and adult learners. They are mostly on straight plays, so tickets are very affordable.
The Aurora Theatre had a great series for kids, if you're looking for things to do on a Saturday.
Beautiful venue. Attended a social function at the theater. Free parking deck adjoins the theater that makes it easily accessible. Also, beautifully adorned with various themed Christmas trees, with donated gifts at their base, that supports several civic organizations and their their needs for the holiday season.
Have seen a few comedy shows here.. very intimate space that they use quite well and the talent every time is hilarious. It's right on the square so before or after the show it's super easy to go find somewhere to eat/drink and the prices for alcohol inside the theatre are quite reasonable.
Superb in every way. There are not enough superlatives to describe this company - they are the West End and Broadway of Atlanta, and they deserve every success again and again. Undeniably brilliant, are AC and Tony.
This theater company always surpasses awesomeness with every production or event. If you are not a season ticket holder yet, you are missing out on some of the best performances live theater has to offer. The entire staff is so great as well. See you at the show...
This is our 3rd year as season ticket holders and we have never been disappointed! The quality of the productions is top notch, even more considering that Aurora is a local suburban theater. Looking forward to next season!
Friendly, helpful staff. Really appreciate the Teen Nation program for my son.
My only gripe is having to navigate downtown Lawrenceville to get there.
Was pleasantly surprised by the high quality production for a local theatre - top notch and the venue is very personal. Not a bad seat from what I could tell. Their production of "Hunchback of Note Dame" led me to buy season passes.
First time ive been to the Aurora since it was located in Duluth years ago. I'm glad i went! It is so beautiful....ticket prices are the same as they were 15 years ago. The staff was very helpful...you could tell that they wanted to be there and love what they are doing. My little one loved the christmas play and we will definitely be going back!
This place should be way more popular than it is.
We went to a Comedy night, and I'm pleased to relay that they are not on the main stage. I was honestly a little concerned at first until I learned this. The side room is all black with what look like old church chairs and a few round tables down front. It's not luxurious, but comedy nights aren't expensive. The Aurora had a pretty good bar selection from what I could see.
Always a blast watching a show here. My family and I have been going here for years and I even got my fiancé into theater productions after taking him. I’ve not had a bad experience yet and since it’s in the heart of downtown lawrenceville there’s plenty to eat, see, and do before and after a show, even late night! Highly recommend.
Went to see the newsies here a few days ago and I was a little scared how they would pull off such an amazing show, needless to say I was not disappointed. I love this theatre and community around it. They had great snacks and beverages in the lobby along with comfortable seating in the theatre!
I have been and continue to be a Season Ticket holder! What a gem we have in the Aurora right here in our city!! If you haven't gone to a play, the comedy club or taken advantage of all their other offerings, then you are missing out on a fabulous time!! Anthony and Ann Carol are exceptional!!
GREAT FUN !! My wife and I have Season Tickets for the first time this year. Good Fun with friends at a Great Venue (we can put our feet on the stage) Highly Recommend that you Go See.
I'm not going to say that I'm in love with every play or performance that I've seen here. However, the staff is always friendly, the performers are all very talented. It is a grade A theatre with a small town feel. This is a must visit venue.
So fun! I'll be a season pass holder in the years to come. Love this place. The new building is lovely
The Aurora Theatre is a GA hidden gem! The drive from ATL is nice & takes about 40 min. Their productions are First Class & equal to Off Broadway (New York). With a bigger budget it would rival Broadway easily! Highly recommend supporting the lovely, progressive Aurora Theatre. They offer wine, snacks, beverages & water before & during intermission. And parking is free!
I was very impressed with this local theater. I went with my girls on their class field trip to go see Rock the Presidents. It was so great, and the kids all loved it! Thank you Aurora Theater staff and actors for such a wonderful time!
Nice, functional. Enough parking space
I am always amazed at what a wonderful place the Auora Theatre is. For a small community theatre I believe it ranks in the best catagory. The entertainment and entertainers are the best. I had seen Mama Mia on stage before, and think this production was the best. I know everyone there this afternoon really appreciated the efforts of all involved.
FANTASTIC! ! That is the only way I can describe the play last night. The "NEWSIE'S" which is the current production is full of lots of dancing, action, and songs performed by some talented actors and actresses. If you get a chance to see, don't miss this one.
Absolutely amazing place to go! Alex is truly amazing and you can just see how much he loves doing what he does while he is introducing the movie. He makes jokes and includes the whole crowd. If you come in late or cut in front you just might be part of the jokes that are told. They had Captain America, Ant Man, Wasp, Spiderman, and Dr. Strange all there for the Avengers movie. My kids truly enjoyed seeing them and being able to take pictures. Having mini golf out front was a blessing, to help keep the children distracted while waiting on our movie time. There just is not another theatre that puts as much love and effort into their movies as the Aurora. Did I mention they have homemade cookies that melt in your mouth? This place is must when it comes to family fun!
Best live theatre in the area. The auditorium is small and the productions are hugh! We just saw the opening play for the new season - The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It was spectacular. Great music, intriguing set design and the performances were outstanding. Great arts live in Lawrenceville GA.
I have never been disappointed with any performance at this theater. In The Heights took me on a thrilling ride to Broadway. If I never see Hamilton, I can say its author created a little bit of magic in the same vein, and gave me a taste of a special place where special people share a deeply emotional and cultural bond. Kudos, Aurora! I thrive because of you!
The Aurora Theater offers the best quality performances. I remember watching," Into the Woods" with my wife and both of us had a great night. The company has relationship with GGC and keeps raising the bar.
Enjoyed the play. Second time going to an event here. Place is too cold. Cold air blowing down on our heads.
You don't have to drive downtown to the Fox and pay for parking to see an excellent show. Aurora makes it easy to enjoy musicals and plays. All seats are great, too, because the stage is up close.
The Aurora Theatre is awesome!! We have had season tickets for many years. The performances are always top notch. Definitely can't recommend it enough!
Great community theatre with top notch performances.
Longtime season ticket holders. Aurora puts on a good show, good mix of new and experienced artists. I'm leaving the area and hope to find another local theater that can provide the same level of entertainment
They had empanadas that were amazing. It was a really great time. We came and heard RNSM perform and it was really a phenomenal experience. They had a really great camera with a halo light also that posted immediately for you to have from their website.
Great local venue in downtown Lawrenceville that is only going to get better. Tonight, Valentines Day 2020, my wife and enjoyed some cabaret music by these very talented ladies who played some music from the band Heart.
I went to the Aurora theater for a play with my best friend Shannon for our birthday.
Parking was nice, but somewhat hard to find unless you actively type in the address so remember to keep that in mind using Lyft.
The play was nice, a good show about existentialism vs. Nihilism.....here and now I think it was called. It's not dry or hot so you won't worry about feeling dehydrated.
What a wonderful, local group of professionals! Fantastic time!
The ghost tour and cemetery tour are highly recommended!! The cemetery tour doesn't have sidewalks for part of it but it's worth the trek if you're able. madame macabre is good at what she does. Also the guy in the top hat.
I am a regular patron of Aurora Theatre since May of 2016. I have gone to all of Aurora's shows since then and Aurora's shows are amazing!! Aurora Theatre is one of my favorite places to go for entertainment, and every time I go to a show there I feel better that I did before I got there ( except for often being sad that the show and experience is over for that evening) Everything Aurora Theatre does is first class in every way, and everything their people and staff do is exxemplary in customer service. Wonderful beautiful Anne-Carol and Anthony have created a theatre company that is the standard that all others should strive to emulate (and she is the most awesome piano player as well!!) I especially just loved their Mamma Mia!! recently just so much!! all six shows I attended!! I totally recommend Aurora Theatre for a great night of entertainment for anyone looking for a great night of entertainment!
Fantastic place for intimate theater. I've been here several times and have had great experiences. They have free on-site parking and the theater is close to several walkable restaurants. This is one of my favorite places.
Great play! Amazing how with so many people on the stage that they were able to do set changes so smoothly. And I fell in love with Jack's voice!
Top notch performers. This was the first ever Cabaret style performances and it was SUPERB!! We met some great people and even took pictures with one of the performers!!
What a great way to catch love shoes right in Gwinnett. My daughter attended Aurora for summer camp acting classes and she liked it so much that she's enrolled in Fall classes. During the Summer, the group managed to put together a full production of The Wiz. It was impressive. The theater is nice and cozy and ticket prices aren't super high. They also have a lot of variety as sometimes they have comedy shows and themed events.
I'll be honest and admit we haven't yet gone to see a play here, but we've been to a few of the comedy shows and have enjoyed them. We live waaaay out in the suburbs and appreciate access to live comedy!
Being here for the show "Men with Money" was a revelation (wonderful show, by the way). It's an older, repurposed space that has been updated well for modern theater. The house is intimate with no bad seats. We sat in the balcony and it was a great view of the proceedings. Attached parking, spacious lobby with lots of intermission options. Being from Atlanta, we tend to think of Lawrenceville as 'the country.' How wrong we were!
I love this theatre, especially their cultural programming. So smart of the organization's leadership to take into account the population in the community and how best to engage them with cultural appropriate programming!
Very good live theatre productions, but the management has started pursuing a very specific social and political agenda. I understand their desire to create socially relevant theatre, but I don't want to be beaten over the head with it.
Beautiful theater in downtown Lawrenceville!!!! Great for plays, stand ups and All kind of artistic events. Juan Carlos is awesome 👏 all the staff is so kind. …
I love going to the Aurora Theatre. The sets are amazing, and the plays are always so well done. Who needs Broadway when you've got a hometown theatre like this?!
The shows here are exceptional!!!
The theater and productions are as good as many large theater productions I have seen. Sight lines are excellent, as is the sound, lights, and of course acting. A jewel.
We've been season ticket holders for years. While every play has not been our favorite, the talent Anthony and Ann Carol bring in is fabulous - always.
Beautiful facility, intimate, nice staff, clean. Has a nice concessions stand, even have coffee. We enjoyed seeing Goosebumps, and my family would love to go again.
Best entertainment at the best affordable price! Can't afford the Fox? Go to Aurora. Free parking also! You can still have a date night that does not require you to go into debt!
Wonderful place! Have been there several times and am always amazed at the quality of the performances done here! One of my favorite places!
One of the best theaters in the ATL area. Excellent performances, great choices.
A real gem. Friendly, talented performers. Community oriented. Just saw "Christmas Canteen" a 20 + year tradition. Outstanding. Enhanced our Christmas. Thank you!
Very nice mirrors in the bathrooms.
Intimate theatrical spaces, exceptional production values, wonderful staff, and a comfortable environment for the audience to enjoy the wide variety of shows that the bring forth year after year. Season tickets to the Aurora are, hands down, the best entertainment value in Gwinnett, if not all of metro Atlanta.
Fantastic place for local family fun. The new facility is beautiful, Lawrenceville Arts Center.
Great place! Every seat is great!
Lovely theater. Nice selection of snacks and beverages at very reasonable prices. Intimate theater. Comfortable seats. Professional production. Free parking below the theater.
Saw Childten of Eden. Guy who payed Father was very good. Other characters wete also very good. Liked the kid who played Cain. Also liked Adam and Eve. Eve had a very soulful voice.
The show was excellent
First time visitor that attended the play The Mountaintop. This performance was done with great taste and captured the story. Excellent production, breathtaking!
Amazing acting; I saw the production of "In the Heights", and I honestly preferred the characters in this production over the actual characters by Lin-Manuel Miranda in the studio soundtrack. Drinks were a bit pricey though.
Eat your heart out Fox Theatre! The shows here are just as high quality with a much better price tag! If you are in the area and are not a member, YOU SHOULD BE!!! Such care put into every performance!
A wonderful theater in historic downtown Laurenceville. We had the pleasure of seeing Christmas Canteen. A wonderful way to kick off the holidays!
The road is under construction so access was a little hard to get to. Inside was a bit hot for the duration of the play and seats are on the small side
Great place to soak up a little culture without having to go ITP (inside the perimeter). Leave plenty of time in advance to park in downtown Lawrenceville and have dinner before the show!
The Aurora Theatre is awesome! Quality professional theatre in a small setting. Clyde and Bonnie the musical was the best musical I have ever seen.
This place is a gem! It brings high quality theater and acting classes to the suburbs. Every staff member is always so fantastic.
Absolutely amazing professional theater. Any show here is worth the price of admission, and their season tickets are very affordable.
My wife and I see a couple shows here every season and always have a lovely time. Excited to see what their new building will look like.
Awesome --we loved our night out there-after the show the star jaclyn hofmann came out and mingled with the guest and even gave me a hug--loved her--inspired my wife to buy the season tickets--our best night out in years--thanks aurora
Great local theater. Great staff. Free parking. Good for a date night.
Recently saw "Ontario Was Here", thoroughly enjoyed it.
If you haven't seen the Aurora's production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, GO! It's EXTRAORDINARY!!!
We love all the puppetry Arts. Great family fun. Pricing is fantastic. We just love Aurora Theater!
Fabulous value for a family day. Great welcome, great acting and well produced. Great job tech team for some awesome special effects
excellent theater. their shows have a great quality and around it are many places to eat and spend a beautiful evening.
It is an excellent place, the activities they do are very good adapted to the different cultures that live in the USA. I love that they speak Spanish and English in Latin activities.
Great venue and quality entertainment! Everyone needs to add The Christmas Canteen Show to next years to do list. A must see!!
There were Christmas Caro's galore in the Christmas Canteen show. It was very cute. It included a touching tribute to veterans.
Loved it came here for the haunting tour and it was wonderful the lady that showed us around did a really great job with her storytelling we totally recommend this for families with small children
Awesome experience. A Night with Remax Legends. This Christmas performance is a must see. Definitely coming back with my entire family to see this again.
Great shows. Well worth the money. Great customer service and clean bathrooms. Parking is fair.
Great performances for very reasonable prices in a very intimate setting where there are NO bad seats! As good as any performance I've seen on Broadway!
Great local theatre! Each season brings many types of shows, so there's something for everyone.
Pretty nice theater
Very close and great view of stage no matter where you're sitting.
We saw Beat Bugs. They did an amazing job keeping the kids and adults entertained. Parking was easy to get in and out.
I have never seen a bad performance here! This is a comfortable place to watch a high caliber performance equal to any in the Big City's
Affordable, cute kids shows. Even have sensory shows. No downtown Atlanta hassle and parking is convenient & free.
Amazing professional troupe in an intimate theatre setting. Saw musical Hunchback of Notre Dame and was blown away by the talent!
Fabulous! What a great venue. Friendly, professional staff, elaborate and well appointed stage, professional lighting, comfortable seating. Excellent production
Ghost tour was fun. Would love to come back and see a show. Very nice facility and the square is full of things to do and see.
Saw a musical cabaret. Everyone one of the singers performance was awesome. I hope they have another performance in the future.
Lovely theater keeping the arts alive. Great for everything from family night to date night. Awesome atmosphere!
Aretha Franklin Musical was Astonishing! Thanks Aurora Theater for bringing this musical to Lawrenceville. We enjoyed every minute. The Bryants
Great theater in a convenient place. The shows are amazing and they work so hard to support the community and the arts!!!
Wonderful small theatre. The performance was great and concession was classy. Really enjoyed my visit
Lovely theater. Amazed at the stage arrangement. It was like being on state with them. Very engaging.
Great shows every time I go. All seats have a great view of the stage.
Aurora Theater is a top notch local theater company that is growing into a regional theater company. First rate production and talent.

Just finished having the best night at the Christmas Cantina production. If you go see it you are going to absolutely love it!
Aurora is the best! I always meet nice people to talk to and the shows are amazing! Best night out in the areaa
Love this place. Great community theater that provides opportunities for local artists and provides a great value for the admission prices they charge.
Very professional actors and especially upper management. Great service at reception and all times during and after the show.
I took my daughter to see the Hunchback of Notre Dame there and it was mind blowing!!!!! I will certainly be back!!!! Great theatre and cast!!
We went for the ghost walk last night through the city, the storyteller was so into character and made quite an experience for the girls and I!
For a community troupe, their shows are very nice. They're nearly as good as the old Theatre in the Square.
Awesome place. Cheap tickets...we took the scary stroll on halloween, very informative and a ton of fun!!
Saw comedian Henry Cho, he was hilarious and venue was nice cozy size. Not a bad seat in the house.
Always a great show. Live music in an intimate setting. Great local music and coffee nearby.
Great comedians. Nice, small theatre so you feel like your part of the show.

Excellent in every respect. Best set design for Christmas canteen ever. Cast amazing
What a powerful show! I loved it. The message and performances were outstanding!
The play was interesting, but the theater itself is small. Seating is on first come, first serve basis.
Saw The Roommate - not particularly impressive - I thought it a so so show. A 2 person show that ran just under 2 hours with no scene changes and no intermission.
Love this little theater. I am so glad we have this in Lawrenceville, I don't have to drive all the way to Atlanta for plays and comedy anymore.
Right size theatre for every seat to be good. Production and cast were terrific!
Kids love it. It's somewhat bearable as an adult. Puppet shows. Wish they'd shorten the marketing talking.
We are season ticket holders. The productions are as good as and sometimes better than those at the Fox.
Great theater to catch wonderful performances with out the hustle and bustle of going down town Atlanta
Had us standing up in lobby until showtime. Wouldn't allow us to sit in theatre not even 10 minutes before show...
Wow! That is on of Lawrenceville's finest! Hosting large shows, comedy shows and everything you need for entertainment! Pick a show to see today!

They put on good shows and events are fairly well organized. Poor customer service when it comes to answering phones, hard to reach.

A nice atmosphere with great performances. I highly recommend their yearly Christmas Canteen.
cannot wait for it to re open. pretty decent shows.
There should be a separate line for those who want to buy a 6 pack of beer and a glass of wine. Why would anyone want that much beer for 45 minutes of theater?
The theater has the best shows. Truely a gift for the community
