Reviews of The Adobe Theater
Started on time and chairs were comfortible. The play we attended lasted too long without a break. Could only see water as items available for purchase. Wine would have been great. I would return but clarify if I could bring my own refreshments. They have lots of enthusiasm.
The Drowsy Chaperone performance was exquisite. I owned the album for years, but this is my first time to see the show. The intimacy of the theater allowed me to watch the performance up close. No one was EVER OUT OF CHARACTER. The music sublime. The costumes and makeup perfection. The best Christmas present ever! Thank you to cast and crew BRAVO!
Found this amazing place by googling "things to do in ABQ" and was so happy to find it. Brought my older teenage son and was not disappointed! Everyone was soo welcoming! I was worried when there was a sign asking to wear masks (to protect the performers) so I was not looking forward to that (asthma & difficult to breathe with pollens right now) but there were just a few people wearing a mask so it was okay. Our big regret is we were in such shock (processing) the mystery revealed that we didn't stop to thank the actors & talk to them! It was fabulous in every way and we will be back (for mysteries & Christmas shows!). Thank you!!
Fantastic! from A to Z, the actors were 2nd to none. Would highly recommend to show to all, GREAT entertainment, only thing missing was the Popcorn.
Some of the best small-house community theater I've ever experienced. You really get fully engaged when the actors are just a few feet from you. Hope they bring back their Shakespeare Festival - it was truly magical!
We saw 'Unnecessary Farce' last night. The show was very funny. We enjoyed it. The theater is small and not a bad seat in the house. The staff was very cordial and helpful. The actors were excellent. I recommend Adobe Theater. It is a great way to support local theater.
A wonderfully intimate venue and an excellent production of "the Dinner Party" can't wait to see other performances here in the future. Love the online ticket purchasing capability.
Simply amazing! This was the first performance and it was incredible. Definitely more than what I would have expected for a small theater. I'll be back for sure. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves great plays and performances.
First class actors perform in this intimate theater. As an audience member for the first time recently, I was moved and captivated by the play. I'll definitely be going back.
Live theater is alive and well! Inherit the Wind had me riveted from start to finish.
First time to going to the Adobe loved the cozy setting and the cast of The Mousetrap was amazing!!!
It was my daughter's (13) first play and she is hooked and wants to see more!!!
I just saw Unnecessary Farce.
I was so impressed by the small quaint playhouse. We were greeted. Check in was easy. Today was pay what you want day.
The show was enjoyable, the cast members funny
I want to go back
Cozy neighborhood live theater. But seats are very tight with little wiggle room...like economy class flights
A beautiful little theater that seems to really be filled with a family of managers, actors, staff, and volunteers. I would highly encourage anyone to come see a show here. Loved it! ❤️
Super cute place! Very small but it had exactly what was needed for the play, Unnecessary Farce. Employees were kind, it is required to have a negative covid test/vaccine card to enter.
Excellent musical! Great singing...don't miss it!
Girlfriend and I went to see Leading Ladies and had a great time. The Adobe theater is a nice place to enjoy a show. The setup provides a very intimate view of the actors. It has very clean seats, multiple restrooms, and good parking. They also sell snacks and drinks for a reasonable price (1 dollar each). Enjoy!
Four of us went to the Adobe Theater for the first time last weekend, and we were pleasantly surprised with this little theater! Purchasing tickets online was easy, check-in was a breeze, and the staff were so friendly and helpful.
Seats are first come first serve, and comfortable! Most seats seem like a good view of the stage. Some elderly guests appeared to benefit greatly from the extra care provided by staff, who seemed to help them get to their seats and ensured their comfort.
The show was wonderful! Talented actors, wonderful costumes and a set filled with elaborate details. The actors were at ease with their roles and really hit their marks with intricately planned timing throughout the show. The comedy kept our attention from beginning to end. Thank you, Adobe Theater! We shall be back!
My wife and I have enjoyed each of the plays that we have seen at this theater. It is what I consider to be a small regional 501c3 theater continuously struggling to survive, yet consistently producing quite good productions. Everyone who works here is a volunteer.
The seating is tiered with 4 rows of seats providing an intimate experience and a close connection to the actors. Stage sets are adequate but simple. The actors are generally experienced in local theater productions. Ticket prices are $20 or $17 for children and seniors. Well worth the price.
A recent modernization of the restrooms is most welcome.
Snacks and drinks are available for purchase.
The theater itself gets five stars. There's not a bad seat in the house, and I love how cozy and intimate it feels. The current play is what gets the three stars. Though the acting was good, and the casting was great, "Laughter on the 23rd floor" was full of foul language, which I loathe. If I had known that ahead of time, I wouldn't have gone to see it.
Adobe theater is a small community theater that delivers a big stage experience. With that said, because it is a small community theater it is strongly recommended that you reserve your tickets opposed to showing up and buying tickets at the door. You may be able to purchase them but there are really good chances that you may not be able and will have to leave without seeing the production. Make reservations you will thank me.
I will be returning to ask least 2 more productions this seasons and I will reserve my seat in advance!
A very intimate performance space. They did a good job of utilizing a small space to bring the actors very close to they audience. In the front row, actors will be right in front of you and you feel like you're a part of the play. I hope they stay open forever and bring theater to more generations of people.
Wonderful experience. The recent remodel makes it easy for disabled people to get in, enjoy the show and use the restrooms. The remodel was to conform to ADA standards. Go. It's got a devoted clientele but they welcome newcomers and make them feel at home.
The show we watched was great! The only problem is with the seating. There are no reserved seats, so it is first come first served. On the day we arrived, another ticket holder got there early and held seats for several people on the front two rows. This was frustrating to us. I would prefer seats to be assigned ahead of time. Other than this, the actors were very professional and we could hear them well. It is a small theater and quite comfortable.
We love Adobe Theater! About 10 of my "Golden Girls " and I go to the theater in Albuquerque as often as we can . And we love the Adobe. The person who complained about the small venue with crowded seats hasn't been to any off-Broadway shows in New York . Nor do they love theater the way we do.
The acting is great, the ambiance is fun and the plays are a hoot! Keep up the good work!
Intimate venue for play-viewing. So far, good experience for local actors. Enjoyed the plays. Do not enjoy waiting in line for the door to open and I would think that could be handled better. That is the reason this does not get 5 stars.
We just saw the Adobe Christmas Carol. I have seen A Christmas Carol more times than I can count and have never enjoyed it so much. The costuming and improvised sets were fabulous, and the acting was superb. Don't miss it!
Had a wonderful time at the Adobe Theater. Love the intimate setup, the comfortable seating, and not a bad seat in the place. The play; "Savannah Sipping Society" was excellent, haven't laughed that much in ages.
Love this little gem of a theatre we have in Albuquerque! Great shows to be enjoyed. Support community theatre! The Abobe has newly renovated and the restrooms are lovely. Sufficient parking around and near the building. We are blessed to have this theatre space here in north Albuquerque.
An extremely well acted and costumed period piece. If you saw and loved The Lion in Winter with Katherine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole, you will not be disappointed. The Adobe Crew did an excellent job.
Cute little theater. Performance was very well done and funny. Everyone was very nice. 👍 …
Very small, intimate theater. We saw 'Shakespeare in Hollywood '. Very funny, very good acting. Very affordable! Can't wait for 'Harvey'!
We went on the last night before they closed to remodel. It was a great show, the other people on audience were friendly. It was a small theater so it was very enjoyable.
Adobe theater is tiny community theater. Cozy, clean great fun. Actors excellent, cool air with close commraderie. Good price, good to help local artists.

A great evening of theatre awaits you in a wonderful intimate setting.
Awesome intimate theatre that seats 90! wonderful cast, enjoyed the play very much
Wonderful place to see plays and musicals. Great actors, wonderful sets and music. Good place for wonderful entertainment at an affordable price.
We love going to see plays at this theater. Small enough that there are no bad seats.
The Adobe Theater puts on high-quality, small-production plays. I've been to probably 10 plays here over the years, and I've always enjoyed their shows.
Great acting and funny play, but seats are very small and too close together. Quite uncomfortable but quaint.
What a wonderful, quant little theater. Great staff and a wonderful performance. We will go back.
Great little theatre, interesting plays, great amateur performers. Love going there.
Fabulously fun! Everyone working there was great. As was the performance. I can't wait to see the renovations.
This is the best place for a haircut in Albuquerque , whether you're a male or female , young or old. The owner , Liz , is the bèst !!!
nicely renovated, comfortable black box theater with more or less mainstream plays. almost always filled to capacity
A great place to watch live theater. The acting is always well done.
This was my first visit to the Adobe Theater. Loved it! I love small community theaters. Will be going back.
Excellent high quality performances. One of the best of the small theaters in Abq!
It was great. Had a friend in the play. All of actors did a fantastic job
Laughter on the 23rd floor was great. Setting a little tight. Still a nice place to go
Amazing place for a show. You really get into it, it all happens so close to you.
Small, intimate Black Box Theater with wonderful shows all year long. Friendly staff and hilarious shows.
Great, small theater. I really love their shows too.
Remodeling this historic little Theater, lots of potential. From what I've seen, this is a good deal for your money.
They put on good productions and now have modern restrooms. Go!
Cute intimate theater brings you close to the stage. Safe neighborhood.
Awesome place to see plays I've enjoyed everyone I've seen there
The theater itself is designed to make one watching the play the feeling of being on the stage with actors...
