Reviews of Rudee Loop
It's a nice little area to park and go fishing or to the beach. Every time I'm down here though I'm always transported back to my childhood in the 1990's, because I remember the Bungee Jump Arch they had here. I was too young and scared to go on it back they before the took it down
Easy access to municipal parking lot, plan your trips according, will be extremely busy in the peak season. Good spot to fish the inlet or see the ocean.
Terrible fishing here...over crowded with tourists. Better off at a different spot like the Lynnhaven Inlet or a pier or on a boat in the rudee inlet or/bay/ocean.
Great place to take the kids. Playground on the beach. Showers & bathroom close. Parking lot fills up quickly . Usually a surf comp going on.
It's so peaceful. You have the ocean, you can watch sunrises and sunsets. There is a soft park for ALL children to play right on beach. Ample parking it's not free tho. Great spot to catch flounder. Make sure you have an up to date salt water fishing license and know the allowed sizes and amount of keepers. They added lighting so u can see to bait your hooks and to unhook those 99,999 pound fish you catch!!
Super convenient parking at a damn cheap rate ($2/hr) ... the best thing about this parking lot is that this is right off the beach and a quick walk will take you right into waters ... also, many were frequenting to the car from the beach for convenient pickups and you might want to note that there is quite a bit of demand and sometimes a long wait. I was loitering around for 20 mins before I could get a spot, but again I felt it worthwhile for 2 reasons, first is the proximity to beach and second is the fees were super cheap. I would strongly recommend this place ...
The strip is a couple miles long, so a fun walk/jog/run for you and your pup if you have one. Dogs aren't allowed on the beach during "tourist hours" so take note. There are a lot of typical beach restaurants and shops, and a kids play area, so it seems to be the fun stop for the whole family.
I pay an annual rate and it’s amazing! I am a local. The key is to get there early. Set up your spot and just relax! I also have an annual parking pass at at First Landing State Park...which is on the Bay but a bit low key.
There's always something new to see here.
I would be nice if there was an assistant in the small building at the entrance to pay for parking on weekends. We were there yesterday and had to wait in line for a half an hour to use the kiosk and there was a lot of confusion with other folks on where to pay etc. The only reason I knew is that we had been there before.
How lucky can we be to have this!!!
Cheep local parking , good waves ,clean beach , showers ,and a restroom.
I'm "differently-abled" & can't make it to the beach but sitting in my car at Rudee Loop, after church is a weekly pilgrimage I do. Breathing the sea air lifts me spiritually!
$10 for 7 hours. Close to kids playground. Nice walk to eateries and stores.
The plus is that have a lot of parking here. The it can be expensive to park here. My biggest complaint is that it inexpensive if you live in the city of Virginia Beach, but even if you live in one of the surrounding cities, they won't honor that.
Really nice serene ocean view and loop walk. Must try it. This time of year definitely for us locals.
Got my id stolen at the Neptune festival
Not as busy or crowded as the areas around 16th to 30th Streets. Restrooms, boardwalk, playground nearby. As it's a city lot, prices are the same as the others unfortunately.
Fun place for kids! I hope they will expand the park and improve the rest rooms though!
Great view.
Plenty of parking
Restroom building instead of a Port o' John.
Grommet Park.
Easy parking. Automated attendant. Cash or credit card. Lot fills up quickly so get there early. Suggest before 10am.
Best spot to park in Virginia Beach! Hidden at the end of the loop and right on top of the beach.
Great view of ocean, wonderful talks with fisher(wo)men...truly enjoyable.
Very popular fishing spot. Plus the scenery isn't bad either.
Go bike riding there every morning at 5am. Beautiful sunrise!!!
Always great place to go for my twice a year trip to VA Beach
It's nice to walk the boardwalk and enjoy artwork under the bridge.
I love that there's free parking in the off season.
It's not terrible. Close to the boardwalk.
Fun area with plenty of water related activities.
Nice playground, bathrooms are near, and a surfing spot.
