Expensive if your staying with a loved one, no acceptions and if you don’t have the money to pay you just don’t leave. Otherwise yeah it’s a parking deck, be careful speedy drivers!

I dislike going to downtown Birmingham because I always get lost before I arrive at my final destination. This time was no different. But once I finally figured out how to get where I needed to be in this parking deck everything was ok. It's a typical deck just with lots of letters, areas blocked off that it is telling you that you should be going that way when your not. But I did with the help of a lot of people in the deck find where I was supposed to be picking my significant other up at and got out of there and back home in north Alabama.

A generally located parking deck that has access to the hospital, restaurants, and the main floors and areas of UAB.
Parking tickets are issued when you enter the deck and you then pay for the ticket before you exit the hospital to go to your car. When you go to leave you enter the ticket and then exit. This entire system was re-done in October and makes for easier and some what faster exit.
There is security and various spots for phone assistance if needed.
Second floor level has a drop off and pick up area.
There are handicapped parking on all levels around the elevator but never enough.
Deck is always clean and well maintained and the elevators, as well.

Confusing and difficult to find a space. Had my elderly mother with me and we had to walk a long way to get to her doctor. Kind of scary for me because I'm not familiar with the building/deck.

It took quite a bit for me to find a space this morning but that’s not a big deal. I got there at 6 to visit a friend whose wife was having surgery. In the process of spending the day and moving from waiting room to restaurant and back to waiting room I lost my ticket. Yes that is my fault but it is an archaic system that requires you to keep up with a piece of paper at what can, at best, be described as a stressful place. Let me dip my credit card in and out or something. The max day rate is 8 bucks and they charged me 25. That’s dumb. Bottom line is don’t lose your ticket or they will penalize you at the cruel and unusual rate of 3x!

Omg, patience, must have patience. I understand the hospital and clinic are busy places, however, you have to park to get there. I must say, you have to drive to the top to park, drive all the way down to get out and then wait....it seems like no one has change or correct cash....its always something to make sure you wait.....

The parking deck structure, is slightly heading for disaster. My advice for UAB, it's one out only two for my region. Emory Hospital & UAB, are region for Phenix City, AL and Columbus, GA. Regions for other states & cities also, but I've dealt with both. Different dates & years, for various reasons, for estimated 8 and half, almost at 9yrs current to today. There should be instructions within each parking deck, where they lead to inside hospital. Do not become the disaster, that Emory Hospital has become. Money making machines, completely forgetting patients & healthcare.

Love the ability to be able to park and have your car watch by cameras for a very cheap price considering
