Although a mile and a half away from the VA they do have a shuttle service which was very simple to use and they were efficient in timing. I had no problem finding a parking space and the spaces were wide enough to give you room even if not handicapped. It was nice to finally be cared for at a hospital and that surely includes the stress or in this case no stress of parking at the VA

It's a great place for medical help, because they really focus on the veterans and treat us well. But when the elevators are broken down in the parking deck and they have to shuttle you around in golf carts it's not as fun.

Very large parking facility. Could use more handicap parking as there are so many veterans with disabilities. The buses used to transport to VA hospital run very frequently which allows good time for appointments.

Since this is a review of the Parking, I will keep my review to that topic. The new Parking Deck is located on the corner of 7th Avenue South and 12th Street. It is much better Parking than we had at the Children's Hospital. There are a few management issues. 1. There are far too many Van-access handicap spaces. Parking could be doubled for handicap parking if there were an appropriate number of Van spots and the rest were regular Handicap Spaces. 2. There are far too many spaces reserves for green fuel Parking. 3. Most of the entire first level is reserved for DAV vans. It can be frustrating to arrive 30 minutes before appointment time and having to ride out the Deck for 20 minutes to find a handicap Parking Space. On the upside, security is much better and none VA Parking is much less than it was at Children's Hospital. For those with appointments at the new clinic, this is great. They don't need to take a shuttle for their appointment. All in all, The new location is much better than the old one. It still needs some tweaking but it is still a big improvement.

Great parking and easy to find. The only negative would be the lack of handicap parking. So much better parking area than what it used to be. Also, great transportation to the VA hospital.

Perfectly well as always day when I visit my VA medical center professionals on their watch standing the watch; beautiful people and loving compassionate humans, just like those they serve. Great for veterans. Shutter service timely. Lots of parking though handicapped spaces fill up fast a few more would be welcomed. Golf cart pickup in other space area is there for those who need it

We arrived at 8:30 AM on a Wednesday and we parked quickly, it was not that busy. There is a shuttle to take those Veterans and family members to the VA hospital and back. I believe mask are required on the shuttle. We however walked to the hospital, was about 1/2 a mile and a good chance for exercise.

Loved it, very convenient for all VA patients. Staff members are very concerned and helpful. Any help that you need will be seen after, great people with great values. Still living the military values and doing the right thing. Secure parking area patrolled by MP and shuttle bus services are scheduled very well to reduce the wait time. It's so great that we can park in the VA parking deck and don't have to worry with finding a parking space. And not worry about parking meters, having enough change for the meter or worry that the time has expired. The shuttle will get you to your appointments. The drivers are wonderful too.

Easy parking! I feel safe and it's clean. The shuttle drivers are nice and never keep you waiting long. Even on the weekend or after hours when you have to call for a pickup they are quick.

It's a free parking deck for Veterans and their families. The bottom level is where the almost continuous free shuttles transport you to the main hospital during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. If you have to be there beyond those hours there are signs posted so you can call the shuttle directly. All the shuttle driver's are very friendly and helpful and most of the shuttle buses equipped to handle scooters, wheelchairs and walkers.

Dad and I appreciate the free parking and shuttle to and from the VA hospital. BUT, you have tooooo many designated parking spots for the shuttle vans on the main deck causing the older, frail, sickly, wheelchair bound, and veteran's that uses a cane/waking stick or walker to have to park farther away from the accessible main entrance. Also causing more misery, pain and added stress to their situation. I personally feel that the main deck should be strictly for the handicap Veterans with the specified handicap tag or placard.

As a veteran, this facility makes the trips to Birmingham so much easier. I do not have to find a place to park and worry about missing appointments. The excellent shuttle staff that drives you to and from the VAMC are polite and responsible drivers from my experience.

I miss the Las Vegas VA hospital, it wasn't downtown and had easier parking accommodations. You have to get here pretty early to make it to the shuttles and get to the main hospital for appointments. The clinic attached to the parking garage is helpful if you don't need to go to the hospital though.

The shuttle bus is a blessing and so thankful for it. Drivers are nice and helpful. Other than the parking lot, which is nice overall, the VA is a nightmare and wish that something could be done soon. I try my hardest to not have to go to the VA in Birmingham. One thing is the netrotious drive with all the Construction which makes a 1.5 hour drive into an almost 3hours long. As bad as the VA is with the rudeness, having to deal with the traffic just makes the experience worse and doesn't help the situation. I try and go to Chattanooga now because of everything all together!!!

Great new place for parking for the Birmingham VA. Has alot of parking and decent amount of handicap parking on each level. Levels 5 through 8 are for VA employees. Shuttle service from this location to the VA and back.
