Reviews of Lisner Auditorium
The Lisner Auditorium is beautiful venue. You can pretty much see the stage from anywhere. Great acoustics. I would recommend visiting for event.
This is a great venue. The lighting, security staff and location couldn't be better. Easy drive or commute from Virginia
I liked the auditorium. It’s a good size. Might fit around 3000 people comfortably. The Afghan Student Association at GW hosted a charity concert there. The staff were friendly and directive.
I’m sure if you’re hosting a show or talk, you should be able to rent it out.
Attended a graduation at this auditorium. Beautiful building. Bathrooms are nice but were too small for the large crowd that day. The seats in the auditorium were padded and very comfortable!
Enjoyed the Christmas Revel. Great actors. Way to go Shaun.
Great Christmas show. Near restaurants and GWU! Stairs are steep!
Capital Funk is awesome. Wish everyone could see this College Dance Off.
The venue has a friendly atmosphere. I'm looking to return to the return of events offered to the public.
Attended phi beta kappa 201st induction for GWU Alpha chapter on May 13th at Lisner Auditorium. Ceremony included 2020 to 2022 as covid delayed prior year inductions. An incredible accomplishment for each Student to have achieved the academic standing and chapter recognition. Standing ovation was well deserved!
Lovely place. Great acoustics!
I would love to do a poem there
Great view of the stage.
The seats are NOT tall person friendly.
The place was clean, with lots of seats. Even off to the side the audio was still crisp and clear. The seats are all red velvet with the GW symbol emblazoned on them. The stage looked very professional and the stage crew did a wonderful job so there were no technical issues.
The auditorium is great but the seating is extremely congested. Maybe that is just my opinion but it wasn't very comfortable being able to get up and out of my C. The Symphony was amazing the opera that we attended was equally as amazing
We went here for CrimeCon. We managed to get street parking right near the venue. Inside we went they the line in under five minutes. The sears are older but good. The acoustics in there are good and the sound system is good. It is older but no complaints.
Worked here as an usher for 4 years and love love love the management and staff. Denise and Celeste who have worked there for years have become like family and continually show great customer service. Good mix of shows and in a great location!
The best academic experience so far was walking through the Lisner Auditorium for my Master's graduation. The ceremony was planned in a precise way and everything went so smooth. The positive energy inside the auditorium was overwhelming 😃. …
Great sound. Helpful staff. But the seats are impossible to sit in. Seats are narrow. If you are more than five feet tall your knees will be pressed into the back of the seat in front of you. With patrons on either side of you, you will not be able to spread your knees apart. Just keep them pressed against the seat back in front of you for two or three hours.
Nice auditorium and bigger than I expected. Was here for a live show of How Did This Get Made? Only downside is that the seats a a little small for a grown adult. They are comfortable though.
I recently went to the Lisner Auditorium to support a close family when graduating. It was overall a great experience with everything geared toward the uplifting the downtrodden people of the DC area that are trying to better their lives and situations. My hope is that other places follow suit and start giving chances to the biggest consumers to make America great again.
Seats had an odd raking, so sitting a few seats back from the front and we were lower then the folks in front of us. Otherwise the sound was great, the seats were comfy, it was easy to find but there was no parking for the venue.
My DeVry graduation was held here. Easy to get in and out of. Midsized auditorium with plenty of seating. Customer service was okay. Weekend parking is limited because the garage was closed.
Settled right on the George Washington University's campus, there are constantly different shows being held here from theatrical performances to dance groups to student showcases to comedians to political speakers and so many more! GW students frequently receive discounts for these shows
It had an interesting setup, and great sound quality. The one main drawback and the reason I am giving 4 stars is because the rows are rather narrow, and it is extremely difficult to get in and out of them when other people are there.
Great auditorium but the seats are so close from row to row. There's no leg space...knees touched the back of the seats in front of me (I'm short, 5'5).
Awesome space perfect venue
The acoustics are great, but the seAts are tight, and selling food and drinks in the front lobby and not letting them into the theatre is a little inconvenient.
I saw Little Feat here August 8th, 1977. Best experience of my life to this day. Lisner has capital with me.
I love coming here for the Washington Revels Christmas show every year. Beautiful theater. Parking in the area will make you feel like a rabid animal, though.
Lisner has been a DC music ICON for over half a century with so many great bands and the shows they performed there! Little Feat, Jerry Garcia Band & so many more! Anyone so fortunate to have grown-up in the DC metro area knows all the great times there! "Give me a F, "F" - Give me an E, "E".....
The opera and the artists were fantastic, the seats however were very congested, difficult to move in and out if needed without disturbing others, which made it uncomfortable sitting down.
The seat are little bit small
My son graduated high-school from here. The bathrooms are downstairs.
One of my favorite places to see shows. Nice seating and a balcony. Kind of an old school theater.
Great venue on the GW campus with lots of good casual dining and plenty of reasonable parking in the area (pay garages).
Great venue, but the smallest seats I've ever squeezed into.
My only problem is there is no leg room
Great concert, nice setting but overly zealous security kept interrupting concert
An amazing night listening to Director James Comey being interviewed about his book. Wonderful!
I recently had my Graduation 🎓 here with my classmates in July! Amazing place to hold events! …
A nice comfortable venue to see music or a show. Good metro access, with some dining opportunities nearby.
We love it here. Great seats. Terrific performances.
Excellent seating. Even from the back you can see the stage perfectly.
Great venue! I saw Brené Brown speak there and had an amazing time!
Great place only complaint was the venue only had cash bars which is ridiculous, people don't carry cash when traveling.
Great on campus auditorium for seeing events. Convenient parking nearby.
They always host great events and have a really nice space to do them in.
Beautiful auditorium on the George Washington University campus, hosting many varied events.
I recommend you visit this place is very very comforting and very very nice place to go I can't say enough enough about it you need to go for yourself cuz I don't want to surprise you by spoiling your visit please go check this place out
Amazing location for concerts. I never miss any over here.
Feels special to be welcomed in this auditorium. GWU hosts welcome ceremony over here.

Not a bad seat in the house!

Here for a dance event and the building and stage are great and the atmosphere is amazing.
