The care for my husband has been amazing! Everyone is so kind and patient. PT and OT are great! He wasn’t able to leave the room for almost two weeks but they did work with him in the room. Margie went beyond her job to serve us so well! I’ll be forever thankful!

I was in here for six weeks. Since I have never been in hospital before I have nothing to compare it to. The food was decent and room was good. The regular staff was great and caring, Ilyss, and Karen were the best………most of the time they were very understaffed. The temps that were there would be a 2!!!! As far as PT/OT I can’t thank Natalia enough for pushing me to do my best!!!!

I was very pleased with the way this facility cared for my mother who was there for just short of two months for a broken femur and then complications from a stroke that followed. Upon arriving there my experience with rehabilitation centers prior to here has been very negative. I was impressed with patient/staff communication. My mom got a schedule everyday, a menu, an expected discharge date, goals, etc. She got to do activities regularly and participate with cooking, arts and crafts, and and even Cornhole. As a patient that required a great deal of physical and occupational therapy it was so special to her that her therapists were so invested in success. All of the staff there really motivated her to do her best, but Natalia and Ashley really were awesome!

My mom has been here since Friday. I understand staff shortage, but no housekeeping has been availabe. The nurses have been curt and not very friendly. Had her button on for medication since 3 and it is now 630. Margie, Jewel, Brenda, Christina and a couple more have been SPECTACULAR.

The caregivers were very friendly and professional. The only thing I was uncomfortable with was one caregiver (tall, blonde and pregnant) who talked extremely loud. The patient was not hard of hearing. I know she meant well though. Also, the facility was clean and smelled pleasant.

I could write all the good and bad things about this place, but here it is short. Wife came in November, for a broken ankle. The were good days and bad days. It took a few days to get her settled in to her room, since she came in on a Saturday night. The time there would be said, most of the nursing aides and nurses were good, but we had issues with call bell not answered for ten, twenty minutes, later at night time; to the bell being turned off by the aides at the desk. All of them were friendly when they did come and most really spent time helping her out. Granted the call bell was rarely used by my wife, so disappointed when she did use it, she wait a while for her refill on water, meds to help with pain and changing of her toilet that was next to her bed. Food was good for breakfast, well for lunch and horrible for dinner. I could go on about my view of the food there, and to know I am cook in a nursing home; so my expectations was fair but disappointed in the food at dinner. PT and OT did wonders for her, making build her up to feel safe in moving around. The desk was always nice, the management staff always answered her questions. The exit part was good but also very lazy. We met with the nurse who had her packet of stuff to leave with including doctor notes, med scripts, and a order for home health care. Unfortunately, the last part was the lazy problem, with me calling up to get updates on the HH care, and always a hit or miss with a call back. A month after leaving, we finally got news that were not getting the HH care, insurance problem, but that fact it took that long to know that much was lazy; it sent a message once we left we were not important. Overall I say like any places like this, we are going to get good and bad moments. It was a good place for her, minus the dinner.

This facility was not on my preference list when my husband left the hospital because I didn’t know it existed. I had just read recommendations on local apps. But, I am so glad my husband is here. It was very emotional to have to have my mother go to rehab after a stay in the hospital. Tasha assisted us through the process and was very caring. When we brought my mother over all the staff was so welcoming. We felt so comfortable with the decision to use VB Rehab over other facilities that weren’t as responsive to our needs.

Excellent. I had knee replacement surgery October 28, 2019 and was transferred to Virginia Beach Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center 3 days later. Their care was superb and I am doing great with my recovery, thanks to Virginia Beach Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Their staff is first rate. They did a great job in my case and I am walking well and functioning 12 days later after undergoing their accelerated physical therapy and occupational therapy program. Both their physical therapists and occupational therapist are first rate. So are their nurses. Caring and pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Virginia Beach Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center to anybody considering post op rehab.

Mom has been a resident in the Long Term Care for over 6 years, and I am very satisfied. The staff as nd administration have always been helpful and listen to my request. During this pandemic at times they seem to be a bit understaffed, in the house keeping and aids, as are almost all businesses. Overall I am very pleased with the care here.

I was really nervous when I was told that I had too come to rehab because of past experiences with facilities. I was surprised to see how nice everything was, how large the rooms are and how excellent and friendly the staff were. The food is good. I f I have to have therapy again I will definitely choose this facility. Staff brought me my coffee first thing when I woke up like i like. It's nice to know I have been to such a nice place. I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs rehab. I wish my husband was able to have experienced this facility when he was alive and had to be placed in a rehab facility. Recently admitted my mother to this facility for long-term care. The staff is very caring and concerned about the patient's care. The staff from admissions to maintenance very friendly and made sure my mother was comfortable and that she received whatever she needed on her first day. The dietitian manager sat down with mom to find out her likes and dislikes regarding her food preferences. The nursing staff is awesome. All came to introduce themselves and when mom was not open to some of the procedures they postpone the procedures. I am very happy that I found this place to care for my mother.

Their strongest assets are the staff members. Whether they belong to the nursing or rehab staff, they demonstrate genuine concern and care. The food was not what I imagined a skilled nursing home would offer; dietary even accommodates your own wishes. They have a grand dining room with all natural light which makes it a great place to eat and enjoy activities. Even though I have been to one other rehab it gave me enough information to know that vbhc is no comparison to any other facility. The funny thing is the other facility was highly recommended. Little did I know this is the best place. The food is wonderful here, you get a menu each night so you can choose what you want for the following day which is nice. They will give you a schedule each day to show what's going on for the following day in regards to therapy. All of the therapy was on time and very prompt and therapy got me back to where I need to be. I have came a long way to get where I am today. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Last but not least the staff. The staff here are wonderful! They are kind, caring, and you feel like you are at home. You really get to know everyone here and the atmosphere here is like one big family. I have never had any issues with anyone that works here. It's absolutely incredible. I highly recommend this facility to anyone that needs rehab.

My sorority goes to Virginia Beach Healthcare to play bingo with the residents. We enjoy ourselves very much and we also enjoy watching the staff interact with everyone. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. Marissa always seems to be upbeat and happy to see us. You can tell she enjoys what she does and the residents enjoy her as well. I look forward to another visit there again this year. Definitely a place I would take my loved one if needed.

At first this place is a little intimidating its such a large place, but once my grandmother got settle it it turned out to be pretty good. She was on unit 4 with a huge private newly renovated room. It was pretty awesome. The staff are all very friendly. I spent ALOT of time there with her, even stayed a few nights. I found the nursing care team to be wonderful.Very caring and patient with my grandmother. She also liked them and was very thankful. We have had some not so pleasant experiences with other places over the years. We didnt have any issues with anyone. She liked the food. But what i like most about this place is the therapy department. She had pt and ot everyday. They are all very helpful and caring. They worked around her constant pain and where still able to make progress. Now i can't speak for long term care but if your loved one is in need of a good rehabilitation facility then I highly recomend this one!

My wife has been in this facility for over two weeks and she and I are very happy of the place. The therapy team are very careful and helpful in every movement she makes. The administration staff is very understanding and helps in any way. The nursing staff are quick to respond to anything we need.Everytime we ask for something someone is always there. We have a great new dining program that is a restaurant style experience in which the residents love having to choose their meal to accommodate their specific food preferences. Well Done! Daily therapies, private rooms, good basic food and competent caring staff made my father’s time at rehab’ a success. My Mother was in VBHC. I went to see her regularly. When I couldn't be there I knew she was in good hands. Annette and Margie took care of her. They made a great CNA team. Any little extra I asked for, they always took care of it. I really had peace knowing they were with her. Christi, the business office manager, was always there to help me with any questions I had about insurance. When my Mother did pass away, the staff was so thoughtful and kind. Leslie, the dietary manager, even brought a cart with coffee, tea, crackers and cookies for my family and I. That was so thoughtful. I looked at other places for my Mother but I knew that VBHC was the best one right away. I really liked that they kept everything clean and orderly unlike most places I visited. I can't recommend this place high enough. This is the best in the business and I can say that first hand from experience!

My mother was just discharged from this facility after about a month of rehab here at Virginia Beach Healthcare and I am so pleased with her outcome after getting a total hip replacement. I do not have to worry about her being at home alone and having the risk of falling when I am not there because VBHC rehab'd her back in better condition than she was before her surgery. I am very happy with the care and love their staff gave my mom while she was there. I recommend this facility to anyone and everyone that may be needing rehab, whether it be an elective surgery or just needing to regain some strength back.

My wife was admitted for rehab from a stroke and has made great progress since being there. The physical therapy team members she has seen have all contributed to her progress. Occupational therapy has also been key in her progress. Speech therapy has helped put her critical thinking skills and memory to near where she was prior to the stroke. The other staff; nurses, CNAs, admin. discharge planning have all listened and responded to questions, concerns and suggestions. This is a place where my wife gets therapy on a daily basis which I feel helps her recover quicker . Everyone's goal is to get the patient well as safely and quickly as possible. The nutritionists and dietary staff provide delicious and healthy meals on a consistent basis, I toured three other rehab. facilities prior to this one. They were all good but this is where we belong! Keep up the good work

Iv been working with Virginia beach healthcare and rehab for alittle over a year now and I feel like family here! My grandma was here a few years ago in long term care and the nursing staff was nothing but amazing towards her and my family! This specific facility was the reason why I went to school to hopefully work along side the therapy department and to see my patient's succeed and surpass their goal to be as independent as they were before they came here. I can say that after a year of working here I have really enjoyed it and wouldn't change it for the world.

I came to know why you are so admired and honored. To the housekeepers: My next attention went to the positive vibes of your duties. You seem so helpful and joyful all the time. My, how neat and clean this place is!! To the nursing staff: I just love all of you and you kept me alive with your expertise of my medication day and night. You always seem to enjoy your work and it shows. To Therapy: YOU ROCK!! Daily exercise with OT,, ST and PT kept me going. You are headed by the most strong and knowledgeable young people. For example: After you've been cared for at a hospital and a Doctor recommends rehab, by all means be glad. The attention and care at VBHCRC is continuous. This is all done with a smile of encouragement. The aides, nurses, and office personnel are all proficient and considerate. The staff is quick to respond when you use your call bell. They work 24 hours a day to help you through a difficult time of healing. The routine will help you to be patient with yourself while you learn why, when, and how PT helps your body grow stronger along with "good for you" food. You will appreciate that feeling of energy to brighten your day as well as the feeling of relaxing after doing the work. I don't have to sell you anything. If you come here you will agree with me.

I have spent three weeks in rehab for a shattered femur. I most strongly feel the knowledge and application service that I have received daily to be most outstanding. I felt I the physical therapy and the occupational therapy was110% on a 100 scale. I was continually challenged with substandard results not accepted. I felt all were well schooled in pushing for best results without making me mad. I am hesitant to single out individuals. I felt all were superb. The previous comment seems to have a lot of knowledge about what "went on" inside the building leading me to believe that they were one of the nurses or doctors that contributed in malpractice. Then because of that they got fired, being the static of "high turn over." Just a hunch but seems rather unusual that they would know that much about the state authorities being there all the time and other information. My knowledge is that they are required to go once a year, which I am perfectly okay with. Shows that the government and healthcare facilities are doing good with our families. The Administrator there answered any/all the questions I had with certainty and was very assuring. I placed my father here and have received a warm welcome when I came to visit every time. He was always bathed and fed on time. I have no recollection of any of this "mistreatment" ever happening to my father (he is very persistent about being nowhere but his house, so if anything made him mad I would know!!) and he has been there for 10 months (extended care). Hopefully I don't ever have to go into a rehab facility but if I do this would be at the top of the list for me.

My mother had fallen and we chose VBHC rehab, basically because it was close to our home. However, it turned out to be the right choice for other reasons. You just walk down the halls and the staff are all so very helpful and pleasant. We want to say our sincerest thanks to the staff from admission, nursing, physical, occupational and recreational therapy, to dietary, and environmental services, and discharge for a job well done. Mom was actually grateful to go home but sorry to say good bye as well. We would like to mention each individual that touched our lives but there are so many and we do not want to leave anyone out. Virginia Beach Health and Rehab is a great company to work for, all of the staff get along very well, are very friendly, and willing to help you with what ever you need. MFA has great benefits and one of the best compensation packages around. I love this facility. They give great care and always make you feel at home. This is probably my sixth stay here and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I always miss them when I go home. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of rehab.
