Coolest gun store ever! From selection to service to decor this place absolutely rocks! My son and I rented full auto firearms (only $30 to fire 3 full auto guns including a AK and AR-15!!!) and took them to the indoor range. What a thrilling experience! Such a pleasure to meet Travis, he was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable and friendly while still making clear that they adhere to the highest standard of safety. We were only visiting the Tampa area but we will absolutely return next time we are in town.

First of all would like to thank the entire staff working on Friday. They were outstanding. They are very knowledgeable about firearms, safety, laws, and how to accommodate anyone walking into there facility. A special thanks to Jenny giving an instructional class to my family and getting them accustomed to firearm control,use, and safety. The knowledge she brings to the table, well no words can express the gratitude I have for this person. Thank you again. For myself the staff was helpful in getting me situated with firearms I wanted to fire at there personal range including the safety and how to disassemble of them and pointers for cleaning and up keeping of them. For the retired members present were like a family of LEOS supporting members such as myself. A gratitude of thanks. We will be returning for more use of the facility and practices in the future. We took a concealed weapons class here with Jeff H… not only is he incredibly knowledgeable and detailed in the information he shares, he’s patient and willing to answer any questions you may have. Taking a course like this can be intimidating, and Jeff takes all of that uncertainty away, making it a friendly, easygoing experience for all. As far as the academy- what an awesome place! Clean, organized, has everything you need, staff is friendly and know their stuff, and the decor took me down memory lane- as a Star Wars fan, this place is epic!

Had to write a review for the Kids Shooting Team. Run by Instructor Jenny Shane. Jenny is Amazing with the Kids. The level of safety first and how to handle a firearm correctly is Top Notch! She truly cares for each and every part from Safety to getting shots on target & Mindset for kids to adults. Jenny is a top notch instructor for kids all the way to adults! Highly Recommend!

This gun store is one of a kind! I never imagined my favorite movies, characters, anime, and mythical creatures would be inside a gun shop. Walking into the facility I assumed it would be another run of the mill gun store, but boy was I wrong!! I was greeted at the door immediately and was in wow of all the decor. There was a huge dinosaur head popping out of the wall. Godzilla on the shelf, iron man right in front of me, master chief above me, dead pool to my right and movie posters all around. I’m not going to spoil everything in the store but It’s nothing like I’ve seen before. The more I walked around the more I fell in love. When I thought things couldn’t get any better, we met the staff and noticed their enthusiasm and knowledge. Extremely kind hearted individuals that know their craft. Highly recommend this one of a kind gun store!! You will not be disappointed!

Of all the ranges I have been to, FFA has been the most welcoming and customer oriented. Liz gave me a tour of the place and taught me a lot about shooting techniques on the range and some good-to-know info on Florida concealed carry and holsters. Charged $100 to replace an extractor (I provided the parts) and told me that was the discounted price. Told me it would be ready by lunch the next day. Called the next day and they said it would be 1.5 weeks before they even looked at it. (It did end up taking 1 week, not 1.5) Informed me that it took an hour, but couldn’t tell me why. Told me to ask the gunsmith. I said okay and asked for him, but was told he wasn’t there? 3 stars because my gun IS fixed, I guess.

This is the best all-around gun shop in the Tampa Bay Area. Travis was our number one trainer for two classes and I can’t give him enough credit. He showed PowerPoint education instruction information, he was patient, he taught us what a gun owners responsibilities are to protect ourselves and our property. The instruction, and shooting in the range was extremely well received, because we learned all facets of shooting handguns to educate us on how we can do a better job of hitting our targets.

FFA is constantly moving forward - the inventory alone proves this. Even throughout the recent troubled times they have always maintained a selection of firearms and ammo. Our family finally fled the insanity of Brooklyn for the Free State of Florida. We’ve always been 2A supporters but have never owned a firearm because of the hassles involved. Upon moving to Dunedin we looked for an indoor range, safety and instruction training for myself and our oldest two children. Our son, 14 and oldest daughter 13, and we were very fortunate to have Jenny walk us through everything, including myself since I haven’t handled a firearm since my last qualifying with my M16 in the Army decades ago. Jenny was patient professional and instilled confidence in both of my children especially my daughter. We are very fortunate to have found this place and an instructor like Jenny. We will be back soon to decide on our purchases. Maybe around Christmas time. We cannot recommend this place or Jenny enough!

FFA is a great example of a “small” business run well! Walking into the place you immediately have a sense of belonging and comfort. Employees are quick to acknowledge and greet you. They seem to work well with each other and are quick to assist one another. The atmosphere has a sense of playfulness about it which helps keeps everyone’s interest. It is obvious the employees are there because they want to be there and they are enjoying what they do, not for the paycheck. Jeff has been a great representative for FFA. I took my course with him and found him to be informative and engaging. He helped me to overcome my reluctance to own/carry/use a firearm - a many step process. He does not use any high pressure sales techniques, took the time to ask questions and understand exactly what I was looking for and what would work best for me. Thanks Jeff! If you are looking for a better selection or better across the board pricing you will not likely find it. The prices are very competitive if not the absolute best around. They also offer regular sales and fun activities/offerings. FFA is definitely worth visiting!

The Florida Firearms Academy is a place to try out shooting real firearms in a safe and controlled environment. The team were highly intent on safety and procedure, good for everybody!! If you are visiting from the UK, you will need your passport and ESTA visa. You will not be allowed to participate if you do not have them. The team were very friendly and precise on instructions and made you feel at ease and at home, not at all like a novice. The experience itself is thrilling, you really need to try it to believe how much. Thanks to the guys at the Florida Firearms Academy for a great experience.

This is the only range I go to! I drive 25 to 30 minutes to get there. I've been coming here for the last two years! The reason why is the customer service is through the roof. Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable. Always feel welcomed. Plus they have a great amount of firearms available to purchase. I got tired of shoots straights attitude. Don't second guess coming here or making the drive.

Physically smaller than Shooters World, but much better experience. Very safety oriented. Half to watch a video before using the range and they make sure you watch. Very active range officers. One of them helped a guy with a rifle who wasn't zeroed and it was loose. Fixed it for him. Got to observe a class. You can tell they really care

Simply put - this place rules! I have been to many different ranges in the Tampa and this one is, by far, my favorite. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the decor inside is really cool. This is where I go to shoot now.

An excellent value. FFA doesn't have the espresso bar and other frills of some of the larger ranges in the bay area, but what it does have is a 5-year membership for the price of what you'll pay for a 2-year membership elsewhere. Twelve 25-yard lanes, and unless you go on a Saturday morning there's usually no wait.

Got my CWP class here as well as a basic pistol class. Very informative and down to earth teachers/staff. The range itself is spacious and well-kept, plenty of great inventory, and ammo/guns are sold as a great value here. It is my understanding that they do not mark things up so high like most places which is something I really appreciated as someone who just purchased a new firearm. I do not see any reason to go elsewhere for my range/firearm needs!

Very knowledgeable staff. Good selection, especially given the current situation of the firearms industry. Yes, you can find ammo online for a bit less (not significantly less), but you have to deal with shipping and cancelled orders. Their gunsmith (Quincy) is absolutely amazing. Classes are well run and the instructor I had was very professional. Range is comfortable, very well ventilated, and has amazing air conditioning (rare for an indoor range). Membership is worth every penny.

Doesn't get better than FFA!! Super selection of guns to rent and buy. Knowledgeable and friendly, welcoming staff. A casual environment with enough assistance to make a novice shooter feel comfortable in a setting that they are just getting used to. Superior gunsmith! Great teachers and LOTS of classes offered along with competitions. You can schedule personal classes too. Frankly, it's one stop shopping...they have everything you need at awesome prices. What else could you want from a range??

I love the atmosphere. It is a well stocked store/location. But, what made it so awesome for me, was being able to speak to knowledgeable, approachable people without projected bias. I loved speaking to the Blackman, who was experienced with artillery to the point of build and servicing. As a mother and grandmother of color ...just seeing him made me feel there was hope for the safety of my loved ones. I am told they have conceal carry classes. I am also told they have programs to speak to home schooled and private/parochially educated students.

I hadn’t been to this range in years because the last time my sons and I attempted to rent range time we were treated like sixth graders on a field trip by the nasty unprofessional range supervisor. We were told that he was no longer there. As I live just 2 miles from the range and I was tired of driving 30 minutes to another range, I decided to give it another try. I’m glad I did. The only thing that is the same is the location....everything else about the place has changed, in a positive way! People are great and much more geared towards a positive customer oriented service. No long lines....good ammo prices and they take care of Veterans like myself

Great place. Awesome staff, very friendly and helpful. I had a great time shooting during my lunch break. Prices are good ($15) and there are lots of targets to choose from, only $1 buck or bring your own. Had a blast (pun intended). So much so I needed to purchase some more ammo. The price for that wasn't bad either ($18). Defiantly recommending this place.

Took my 8 year old daughter here for the youth firearms course, and I was quite impressed. Their NRA instructor Jennifer was awesome and really great with the kids. My daughter was very nervous inside the range and Jennifer made her feel really comfortable, and she ended up firing a few rounds.

I’ve gone to indoor and outdoor ranges all over and I choose Florida Firearms Academy as my home. Not only is the range high quality, but what really makes this place shine is the staff. Everyone from the owner on down makes you feel welcomed. Even when hosting competitions, everyone is there to genuinely help you get better and be more proficient with your firearms. At least from my experience, I don’t even bother going anywhere else anymore, unless a friend invites me to go check out some event somewhere. Great selection of rentals and the place always has something going on as far as classes and events. I’m a lifetime member for sure.

Best range experience I've ever had. Great staff, all very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and supportive who create a zero pressure environment. No limit on range time, free coffee and chill out area while in between gun rental swaps. Well lite, clean, cold a/c, affordable ammo, private and clean bathrooms, rocking chairs out front next to smoking area with the sound of horses and roosters!

Just left my first visit there and couldn't be happier. Everyone was friendly and as involved or uninvolved as you need them to be. If you know what you're doing, they leave you alone. If you need some assistance they're there to help. The range itself was the first I've been to that I didn't sweat the whole time. Great ventilation and it stays cool. Nicely maintained area. Was able to shoot my shotgun (00 buck and slugs) 44 mag and 9mm with no hassles or issues whatsoever. Get there early because the lanes do fill up quick. I went on a Saturday and got there right when it opened. When I left there were folks waiting but that's to be expected on a Saturday. Had an absolute great time! Can't wait to go back.

Great, clean facility and helpful knowledgeable staff. Hadn't shot in a few years, and they got me set up to try a number of different guns to help me in making my decision on a new gun purchase. I have never seen a multi-gun rental charge, that allowed me to switch out four or five times during my session! No better way to get the feel for a gun than holding it, and more importantly firing it...Became a member of the range and would highly recommend this facility to anyone interested in trying out shooting for the first time, or for veteran shooters looking for clean, air conditioned range to hone their skills.

I have had a family membership for 4 years. The staff is always friendly and professional. I purchase the majority of my supplies at this range. Recently I purchased a gift for my daughter. It had to be ordered. I was on a tight deadline to receive this item. The staff was extremely understanding and want the extra mile to cover me. Been twice in last month with 12 and 5 guys. What an experience. If you are unsure about gun safety or have never fired a gun before ask if Mr Reed is working. Retired military. Great guy, safety focused. Made us feel at ease. The young woman at the front is also a great help. She told us what to shot, how to shoot. Picked out the right firearms for our lack of skill and knowledge The shop is very clean. Safety is tight. All staff are very friendly. Staff are courteous and helpful, never trying to push merchandise on you, but full of information should you inquire. I went in to see the gunsmith, Quincy. It was a little tough getting ahold of him, evidently there is high demand for his skills. Once I got a time slot with him, I could not have been happier with the experience. He very patiently explained how he would go about taking care of issue I was having, how long it would take to fix, and when he would be able to get to it. I have talked to other gunsmiths in the area, and was treated like it was my privilege to speak to them, if you could even reach them. While waiting to talk to Quincy, I observed him working with other customers - he even dispensed advice to one that would allow them to fix an issue on their own. The other staff in the store were courteous, friendly and helpful as well. I have not been to their range yet, but plan to soon.

I've been here a few times now, Each time I've found the staff to be professional, friendly and always willing to help. I've also noticed more women and families here than I have at any of the other local ranges. I believe that's because the staff is very welcoming and treats everyone with respect. The shop itself is very clean, modern and their bathrooms are impressively clean! They have an ok selection of firearms and decent accessories availalbe for sale. The firing range is fine....lighting is good, ventilated & comfortable. Although, I wish they had more table space behind the lane s to place your range bag & etc.My overall experience here has been very good and more than likely I will become a member. Give them a try...I don't think you'll be disappointed in the service.

First of all, this is a great place to learn how to shoot and get into the sport. This is a friendly place that welcomes people of all ages to learn how to handle and shoot guns; they have special classes dedicated to introducing women and children into using firearms safely. They offer introductory courses for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. They also offer advanced training, such as home defense. Overall, friendly atmosphere, definitely run by folks who love and respect firearms. This place is often extremely busy and on days when classes are in session this place is PACKED. The gun range is split into two sections and has around 6 stalls per side. There may be a wait to use the range, but it’s rarely longer than 30 minutes and they have a nice waiting area with TVs and coffee. You can rent firearms to use on the range, but there are stipulations for doing so. There is a wide selection of 9mm rentals, and limited numbers of other calibers. They also rent rifles (AR and AK). If you love to shoot, consider getting a range membership for a number of discounts on ammo, accessories, free rentals, etc. They have a place to build custom ARs and service firearms as well. As for the sales aspect of the store, they have more handguns than rifles and shotguns for sale. Inventory changes daily and right now (June/July 2020) has the hottest gun market in years. So if you see something you like and want it, buy it now. Keep in mind 5 day wait if you don’t have your CCL. If there are two things I’d say could be better: The location is bizarre as it’s behind an auto service shop where you can’t see it from the road. Also, they kind of need more space for both classes and perhaps a separate gun range restricted to newbies as it can be really intimidating to be around folks blasting away with higher caliber firearms! Other than that, this place is fantastic!

As a female and now an NRA Instructor I have been to several ranges and have faced some challenges. Like I said I am an NRA Instructor and I have finally found a range that is professional, clean and completely air conditioned. I take all my new shooting students to qualify for the Concealed Carry License to Florida Firearms Academy. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They will answer any and all questions with respect and they do not talk down to the female shooters. This is especially helpful since ranges can be intimidating for most females. If you are looking for a new range that is clean, spacious and has reasonable prices this is the place for you. Don't have a gun yet, not to worry. They have a large selection of guns for rent. This is a good way to try before you buy. Once you have decided on a gun they also have a selection of new and used guns for sale. Of all the ranges in the area this is the best and there is no limit on your range time.

Shot there about 5 or 6 times. As an experienced shooter, have shot at many local ranges. The STAFF at FFA is what makes it great. They are friendly, welcoming, and above all, NOT condescending to new shooters (as I have witnessed at other ranges). Also, their gunsmith services are top notch. I highly recommend them!

Very nice staff and very helpful. The range is well manned and operated. Great selection of rental guns and even full auto rifles. range fees are very reasonable. Only gripe I had was the ventilation in the range (east range) was not very good. There is Definitely room for improvement. after spending approx 3 hours in there it was time to go. Hope FFA will do something about the ventilation, and if they do it will be my new go to range.

Use this range quite often and every time I have had a good experience. Everyone I have dealt with has been extremely nice and helpful. It's always very clean. I have seen one person draw from holster when they shouldn't of been and the RO quickly identified and spoke very nicely to the man. Always feel like its safe to shoot their but don't have someone watching over your shoulder either. Great environment.

I want to love this place because it's clean, well maintained. The Gunsmith Quincy is an ace and I rarely have to share the lanes with other shooters when I am there, but... It's just not a proficient business. I have FFL transferred in and out of the Academy and the wait times have been too long. The staff is knowledgeable and they are all good guys but if you want to do business you better not be in any hurry. I never re-upped my membership when it expired, I have given it some thought... but I am going to keep my options open before pulling the trigger on that.

I stopped in a few weeks ago just to check the place out. I found it online and thought it looked worth while. I went in and was greeted by the staff immediately. They were very helpful, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I talked to them about their range and gun rental program. Both seemed very reasonably priced. The store area is very nice, well lit, and stocked well enough. A very nice waiting area with chairs was also available while waiting for the range. The on site gunsmith was also a nice surprise. They offer discounts to law enforcement, first responders, and military which is very much appreciated. I returned a few weeks later to shoot my new shotgun with my wife who was not experienced with shotguns. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave her pointers on technique to help her out. She was especially comfortable with the female staff member who reassured her the shotgun was not as intimidating as she thought. We walked right into the range without waiting. We spent over an hour shooting and were very comfortable the entire time. I do wish they had better distance markings in the range to know how far your target is. Afterwards as we exited the range three separate staff members asked us how things went and were concerned with our experience. We really enjoyed our shoot and our first experience was exceptional. We WILL be going back.

Honest and knowledgeable personnel. They wont try to get over on their clients. The resident gunsmith advised me on how to correct a deadline deficiency on my AR, free of charge. I confidently recommend these guys for shooters of all skill levels. They also rent weapons for use in their indoor range, which makes it ideal for beginners. The range is clean, well lit and well ventilated.

We have a family membership (4 members) at the Florida Firearms Academy. It was great when we became members. I usually go with my husband and when we first became members were able to use two lanes. Each of us own 2 pistols and we like to practice with all of the pistols. It does not take more than an hour to practice. Lately, because is getting a little crowded, we cannot get two lanes. We have to share! And that gets annoying. If I go with my son, then are three sharing a lane. We do not enjoy it anymore. Unconsciously we feel rushed because we know there are people waiting for their turn. For that I would give the Florida Firearms Academy three stars. Not to mention that the senior citizen in charge of the back counter is rude. (Maybe is the nature of the job.) Facilities: Very clean and the people at the front counter are very courteous. Quincy, is great!

First of, this is the second review I have ever written in my life, and I truly felt like I need to write this one for Quincy (the man!). I walked into the store with (barely any) gun knowledge. Quincy was the first employee (among many who were in the store) to acknowledge me and invite me over to him. I told him I was looking to purchase a gun for my father (birthday surprise) and shared with him what I was looking for, including the price range I want to stay in. Quincy first sat with me for a bit and dropped some serious gun knowledge on me (types of bullets, guns, license, how to buy, etc)...and then took me over to look at different guns: not once did he try to push a sale on me, or encourage me to look at a more expensive gun. He was incredibly informative, friendly, and humorous... and I could tell he was more concerned with helping me find the right gun, rather than making a sale (and not once gave off that "sales-y" vibe). I ended up purchasing the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm, leaving the store informed, happy, and very pleased with my choice. This location is a ways away from my house, but I will come back to go shooting with my dad all because of Quincy. He is the best!!

Great range for kids! I showed up unsure of how the staff would handle my 7 year old daughter. Not only were they helpful and positive towards my daughter. Raymond was so awesome and even helped my daughter insert her inner ear protection. He has helped me on multiple occasions and is the main reason why I will be purchasing a membership. No range officer on range, as an RSO myself I know how quickly things can go south. Need more lighting, I could barely see my target. Need better target selection and range safety video is not extensive enough, IMO, for novice shooters. Now the pluses. Nice and cool on range, rapid firing allowed, and you can take a $35 class and be able to draw from a holster (not even an option at 99% of indoor ranges even unless your LE) and 99% Of citizens can out shoot them. They shoot once a year.

I have been to quite a few ranges in the relatively nearby areas, and this is by far the nicest and cleanest one I have ever been to. The facility is top notch, with an air conditioned range with an excellent filtration system. The staff is very friendly and super knowledgable. There are conceal carry classes, first steps classes for beginners, gunsmithing, side by side air conditioned ranges, and if there does happen to be a wait for the range there is a lounge area with leather chairs and a T.V. to watch. I just can't say enough

Great place to go shooting. There RO's are knowledgeable, but NOT overbearing as long as you know what your doing. As a former FTO, I very much appreciate that. I have been shooting here several times, and will be several more because of the staff and facilities. A few months back, I had a friend from out of town come shooting with me. We started shooting, and the range line came down. After talking to Sean, He had it fixed and took care of us for our inconvenience. Great customer service... Gunsmith is a great guy too!

I don't get to FFA's Tampa range as often as I'd like, but the range they had in New Port Richey was the best in the area. There's a bunch of us hoping you reopen again soon. Place is small enough to be a pretty safe place to shoot. The big ranges are flashy but have little control of the novices and know-it-alls. The staff has always been polite and attentive. There area alot of closer ranges for me to use, but I really appreciate the on the ball and safe aspects of this range. Would be great if they reopened their New Port Richey range.

Two range visits. First time with wife, second time with wife and elderly parents. The staff has been excessively friendly and encouraging, providing insight and education when needed. The range itself is top-notch - clean and well-ventilated. The other reviews are correct - no snobs or elitists here! We had two different range masters. The first was from Hungary. Sorry - forgot the name! He was exceptionally diligent and provided free instruction automatically when needed (wife is relative newcomer). The range was at medium capacity that day. Absolutely pleasant outing! The second visit was a different experience that might otherwise depreciate a 5-star rating if not for our first visit. Again the staff was very helpful and friendly, although the range master - an absolutely Class-A veteran fellow - had a little more than he could handle, methinks. The range was completely packed with at least 20 deep waiting in the lobby. (Love this enthusiasm!). Thing is, we witnessed some concerning behavior that went unchecked. A) Gentleman loading a revolver away from the booth. B) VERY young kids (talking 3-5 year-olds) in the shooting booth areas. Given the seriousness of a dangerous activity, it's a concern. And this is just a preference, but with a stacked range, I understand... Wish high-powered rifles were separate from pistols. Thankfully the AK(?) next to us only shot two clips, but HOLY!!.... can't keep aim with jihad going on three feet away! ;) Regardless, we REALLY love this place and will be back often. Nice job overall, FFA!

Absolutely the best range around and I've been to quite a few. Knowledgeable and easy to get along with staff. Answer any questions and will help you out if you need it. Not pushy or overbearing like some of the other ranges locally. The RO's are nice and stay out of your hair if you know what you're doing. I liked them so much I paid for a year of family membership. Never found anyplace I liked so much before... Seems like everywhere else is just too rigid and on the "power trip" from the RO's. Even the Wife, my sons and my Father love it there. I strongly recommend you take your time to try them out. I'm glad I did and I'm certain you will too..

My husband and I took the NRA “first steps” class and our teacher was really knowledgeable and we learned so much. I love the range here because it is large, clean, and well-staffed if you need help. I’m new to shooting so having many helpful folks working there is really helpful for me. They have a huge selection of new and used guns and a wide variety of unique items. We will definitely be back to practice and buy our first guns.

Excellent! My wife and son went to FFA's gun safety class and have used the range a number of times since. My wife had previously never shot (or even held) a firearm of any type before this class due to being petrified of them. The class gave her the confidence to be around firearms herself and to feel comfortable letting our son shoot his rifle (which we bought at FFA). The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They make safety their number one priority. I would recommend this range to everyone! FIVE STARS FOR SURE!

Excellent professional outfit and walked me throw the firearms patiently as a newbie tourist. Charged VERY reasonable rates, unlike many of the ranges that target tourist market. Fired a 9mm, two .45s, a .22 rifle and .44 Magnum (it's a classic but blimey what a kick), about 200 rounds in all and cost including gun hire, targets, glasses etc was only $146. Absolute bargain and I had a blast. Pun intended.

Drove by there a 100 times. So I finally stopped in. Told the guy I lived down the street and just wanted to check the place out, holy crap was he friendly. He immediately shook my hand introduced himself and gave me the run down. Brought the wife back we went to the range, super friendly staff. Told him I bought my guns online and he said to give him a call next time I am ready to buy. I called ... he didn't have what I wanted but he ordered it for me and had it in 24 hours with a price that was very competitive to the interwebs. I always prefer to give my money to a local shop. Friendly, affordable, and minimal red tape/paper work. We love going here for some shooting enjoyment withiut any of the fuzz of other places. They're also not super anal about you bringing in your own ammo like other places. There is no time limit, but if there is a wait, you should be considerate of others. All in all. 5 stars.

I bought a very well made, custom AR-15 there out of there Boucan Armory (Make: ADEQ/ Boucan. Model: Paladin/Shinobi) back in 2012. Worth every damn penny. I am a member here. This will be brief. The staff is EXCELLENT. The facility is Ok. I agree with other comments that the range officer on duty needs to be more involved because this place gets a lot of inexperienced shooters and because of the setup of the range itself, issues happen with inexperienced shooters not following protocol. I've been hit by ricochet from another shooter with the target too close. Shame on the range officer for not catching this, but shame on me too for not pointing it out to the unknowing shooter or the range master. Safety is every shooters responsibility. Not just the range master.

After my three experiences shooting here I wanted to write a review. I have memberships at both shooting sports and shooters world also. I have read a lot of reviews on other sites and some on google to see if I was the only one who felt this way. The reason I did this is because I have severe PTSD. When it comes to guns and safety I tend to go overboard and freak out on the slightest violation . With that in mind the main grip I see on line are statements like "they are not friendly here. or "they are racist because they were not nice to me" or "they should treat new people better when there spending there money there." Basicly all the gripes are that the staff is condescending. I could care less about that garbage. I found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable. If they were rude (they were not) who cares? I came here to shoot not join a sewing circle. Id prefer no one talk to me unless I ask a question. The staff are friendly very friendly they manage to rope me into intelligent conversations more then once. The staff is great no problem here. My problem lays in a lot of there clientele. This place is right next to westchase. So alot of people come in with too much cash and zero experience or skill. This place is unsafe. The booths are too deep and you can not see if there is an idiot next to you. The range is too shallow and they allow fully automatic assault rifles to shoot next to you and your kid with NO RANGE OFFICER. I have been hit by a piece of ricochet bullet and had to dodge tracer fireballs. I've only shot here 3 times! You know that commercial where the guys in the office with a bunch of monkeys? Picture that at a gun range. The last time I went to shoot someone had shot down two rails at once and we had to wait. That was enough for me I told them I was getting lunch and would be right back. This place is dangerous. I feel sorry for the owner because this is not an easy problem to fix. They need a range master in each room not a CC TV next to a cashier. However if you kick out all the idiots this place might be empty. Tough problem. I can't recommend this place to shoot. I feel bad because they have a great staff just to many safety concerns.

Check this place out if you are in the area. Aside from the extensive range of items that they have have here, the real ace in their pack is their employee called Paige. She has great knowledge and passion for what she does. I would go as far as saying she gave me the best customer service that I have received in the states. Perfect customer service. FFA is a great destination for the tourist shooter! I had never shot a pistol before, but the staff at FFA were very pleasant and helpful. Their facility is very clean, well-ventilated and feature a decent collection of rental weapons ranging from revolvers to assault rifles. If you are British, Canadian or otherwise and traveling in the Tampa area, be sure and stop by and pop off a few rounds...you won't be disappointed! :) P.S: Try the Colt Governor with .410 shot shells...its tons of fun :)

I recently completed the women's only beginners firearms safety course with Paige Coulter as the instructor. The Florida Firearms Academy couldn't have choosen a better instructor for this course for women or even men in Paige. She was extremely knowledgeable about guns, gun safety and personal safety! She was so relatable to every person in the class no matter what their background was with firearms. I was a newbie and she answered all my questions on a level I could understand as well as helping me and others understand questions more experienced women were asking. I would highly recommend this course and if you are lucky enough to get Paige as your instructor you have a win win!
