Reviews of The Mural Mile
Really cool spot featuring all sorts of artists and art work. It is an active art project and always changing. Nice long walk along the train tracks. If you're in the area, it's worth a stop.
Awesome place for a photo shoot of any kind.
The art work (that's what it is) is amazing.
The detail is beautiful. Definitely a must see
This place was so dope. I wasn't able to walk the entire mural but what I was able to walk was amazing. It's nice the city allows things like this. Definitely want to go back on a cooler day and check out the artwork
Amazing experience if you ask me. Amazing talent the details in these murals are unbelievable considering they spray paint them.
Sure wish I could paint like these artists. I also wish taggers wouldn’t come and trash the murals with their BS, but I guess that’s the nature of the beast….
GO HERE. Does not disappoint. Some very talented individuals out here, and it’s free to see
Loved the Mural Mile. Exceptional artwork from local artist. Great spot for pics and selfies close to the Gateway Arch.
Such an amazing way to let the community express themselves with beautiful and amazing art. Definitely a much see lots of amazing talent! Don't forget to Tag the artist if you post 🥰 …
My first time visiting was awesome. A lot of beautiful murals near the Gateway Arch National Park
I think the mural is longer than a mile. Really cool artwork. The area is kinda sketchy but other than that it’s a nice place to admire graffiti and go on a long walk.
I wasnt gonna go after going to the Gateway Arch but glad I changed my mind...I felt like the murals were so inspiring and beautiful. I was pleased
Super cool stretch of graffiti art on the levy walls that begins at the Riverwalk trailhead. Some of the pieces are very intricate. Unfortunately a lot of them have been tagged over by others.
It's so pretty and the artist are very talented. The different art blends together well and showcases some of stl's best artists!
Very cool. Gotta be like two miles long! I heard from two locals I came upon that the river-side of the wall is painted too. I was in town on a work trip and planned my running route along it. Only thing I didn't like is that is slowed my pace dramatically because I kept stopping to take it pics and take it all in. : )
Some very good art as done by the Paint Louis project. It gets tagged over quickly so you may not see things as they were done. The road is rough so drive slow and it may be partially closed.
A fun spot to stop for impromptu photography and seeing what the local artists have shared saw excellent work from C’Babi Bayoc and Pete Wollager, two of St Louis local greats!
What an awesome display of some very talented artists took my parents on a long drive down the wall and enjoyed the variety and artistic ability displayed. The train yard at the South end had some really cool old retired locomotives too
As a visitor from another inner city area, I love the idea of this graffiti mural but a lot of the art has been covered by tags and obscenities and there is a lot of broken glass and garbage scattered along most of the mile. It does not feel safe to walk nor is there a clear road to drive. It's a shame St. Louis citizens are not doing more to preserve and protect the works by these talented artists.
Intricate non-explicit graffiti on industrial cement barriers. My wife and I had explored the Mural Mile from the safety of our vehicle at dusk, as I would recommend everyone to do at that time of day and later. Be safe!
Awesome to see all the art. Unique perspectives from different artists. I'd advise not hanging around here once it gets dark. Please leave before dark.
I was leaving Soulard via Pontiac Square Park and the Community Garden when I decided to check out a part of the city called Kosciusko. I had read it was all industrial. Of course, the moment I got there, I needed a restroom. I was hoping to find a Porta Potty on one of the work sites or something. And then, lo and behold, I saw the Graffiti Wall/Mural Mile. And much to my surprise, there were people out painting it. Turns out, I had stumbled onto Paint Louis, a huge event where graffiti artists are invited to paint our river wall every year. People come from other states just to showcase their art and find community. And yes, they had Porta Potties.
I wound up staying till dark. Definitely longer than a mile. Took so many photos and talked to so many incredible artists. It was inspiring and heartwarming to see people come together for the sake of art, and do something positive, outdoors, for the community and the art world. I loved it, and I'll definitely return in future years.
The art work from Paint Louis '18 is incredible. It's unfortunate that this type of medium (spray paint) is so taboo, I really feel like these artists don't get enough credit for their talent. The best time to go would be closer to the actual event date, Labor Day at the beginning of September each year. I went yesterday and people had sprayed obnoxious messages over the artist's original work which I think takes away from the art. Otherwise, very impressive.
Very cool place to visit, what many see as a neglected flood wall has some really good Grafetti art along with the usually tagging. I visited over Memorial Day weekend during the Paint Louie event where you get to see the artists at work.
There is just no place like it! Truly amazing. I come down a few times a year. And everytime the wall changes. It's best to come during the day. So u can walk the length of the wall. It goes on for quite a while. A very unique display of modern urban art. It's free to look and free to try and contribute yourself. Go for it. You will absolutely have a new appreciation of what some of these artist have created on the wall. A one of a kind look in St. Louis.
Awesome interesting and riveting, you wouldn’t believe the people you can meet here! My cousins from the west coast came in town and I took them here. They loved it and thought it was super cool that St. Louis would have something so unique! If you have the chance to go I highly recommend it!
The wall is just an amazing collaboration of highly skilled graffiti art. The graffiti is always changing and seems to do so in an organic fashion. I visit as often as I can and love to bring others that have never seen the wall. How great of an idea to allow this levy wall to come live with art! If you haven't been, you must go as soon as you can. It's a great location for some unique photo shoots. I LOVE THE STL GRAFFITI WALL.
I loved the idea but the actual experience wasn't that great. Yes it's a large art wall on a questionable "road" some of it is one way only. Limited spots to park and walk it. The "road" along the river isn't really a maintained road and part if it is one a 45 degree angle by the riverboats. Abandoned factory/warehouse neighborhood right off the downtown area. I would suggest taking one of the many scooters downtown and ride over, you'd have easier access.
This place is unique! The art is very impressive! I hope as the city quickly gentrifies that we don't lose this!
As other people have said, a true hidden, urban gem. It's in a sketchy part of town, so best go there when it's light. Not only will you enjoy the incredible artistry, you can see the road.
No restrooms, lots of places to park and about 5 minutes from the Ach, near the train tracks.
Apparently the artists come from all over the world, and redo the art every year over the Labor Day weekend.
There are videos on YouTube, search #PaintStLouis2017.
When you're done, head over to the #BluesCityDeli in Soulard about 10 min away for a killer sandwich. You can thank me later. 😉 Enjoy! #graffiti #streetart #spraycanart
Ps. The other side of the wall is also painted but it's a lot rougher and the road is a dead end.
Really cool place too take pictures if you’re an “influencer” record a music video or just take pictures of the amazing graffiti art.
Great art! The roads a bit rough to drive along it but still very nice. Way longer than I thought it it would be filled with a variety of graffiti
It's a great place to enjoy one of the four elements of hip hop. Graffiti. A
It's also a great place to take pictures. There is a lot of rustice senery close by. Occasional Union Pacific trains passing over the bridge as well.
It was so cool to walk along and take pics. Go in the daytime. I didn't much care for all the people just hanging out down there.
There was some very well done murals, but they've been tagged over so many times you cannot see them anymore. Bit of a disappointment but perhaps you just have to get lucky.
Super cool place, love seeing a place where artists can make beautiful masterpiece!
Cool place to take pics of your truck by. Old buildings and overhead train tracks.Just get out well before dark.
the youth hav trashed the grounds...theres trash and broken glass everywhere...i STILL love looking at tha art on the flood walls
This place is truly breathtaking in every sense of the word! A lot of people are calling this place a gem of St. Louis, I would argue that it is THE gem of St. Louis! Everything is so rich and vibrant. It's incredible how many and how large the pieces of art are! Some are about 20-25 ft tall and 100 ft wide! I will be coming back very soon. I encourage everyone to go!
Pretty cool but alot of vandalism to some nice work. Sketchy area so bring protection of some sort.
LOVED this mile of artwork. Even if some of it had gang signs marked over it.
There was a lot of variety with the murals and a lot of gorgeous views. I definitely recommend checking this place out.
It's an amazing opportunity to see some of the dopest artists St.louis and other parts of the country band together and make great art and good music. I look forward to it every year.
I usually love it here. I don't understand why only half of the walls have been painted. Disappointing
Cool place to go and take pictures and see street artist work.
The guys love taking pics of their bikes in front of the ever changing wall...cool place to take pics
Incredible, ever changing collection of top notch graffiti and murals that attracts artists from all over the country.
Beautiful place to visit, just make sure you do it between 8am to 4pm!
Amazing Artwork!!
Interesting art. A little out of the way but if you enjoy street art this is the place!
This is absolutely creative and gorgeous stretch of artwork, that is beautiful to go see and use as background art for pics A+.
Love the free expressive art! This entire area is amazing! Highly recommend this location !
Most of if not all the art has been painted over
Gets better every year. Ever changing art
Spur of the moment road trip that was well worth it... Stumbled upon this place that definitely is a must see... 💜 …
The images on the wall are always changing, I love seeing what's new and taking photos
All different kinds of art changing often. Have a sturdy car, not low, if you want to drive the whole mile.
I decided to re-visit this area soon after The Labor Day Weekend because Paint St. Louis hosts a Weekend renewal of a lot of the artwork. It's always impressive. Great Work and A Great Unique Spot in St. Louis to enjoy some extremely creative design. Get Your Selfies HERE !! 😊 …
Amazing collection of murals on the levy in STL! Don't miss it!
Such a cool place to be, great art and creativity!
One of my favorite places in this crazy city! I like to creep along slowly & enjoy some amazing art with a friend or two...
Amazing place to visit and you're an artist like myself or even curious brings a whole new perspective to Graffiti and the meaning and what it's about in I need something that everybody should see I think the main focal point of our city beyond what other people think. Also I think that it also teaches about the difference between human beings really is because art is so subjective that it's not even a matter of opinion it's I thought process amazing Place krowd it's in my city
Talented artists. I love seeing the creativity.
I like street art. It was a lot of trash down there. I didnt walk the whole thing because all the trash and location made the area seem a little iffy
Awesome work! And so much to look at!! Love!!
One of the best experiences ever, far better than any fancy museum such as the louver.
I went here over the weekend after finding it on a travel blog of things to do in St.Louis. The art is definitely better in the start and turns into pretty unimpressive scribble really. The cool murals have been tampered with which was disappointing. But all in all it was a really cool experience. There were a few artists making new art which was cool to see. Its definitely a shady area but i dont think you'd find any harm if you keep to yourself. I will make this a stop every time im in the area.
Checkin out the new art.
Great scenery...watch your step lots of glass.
Great artists add new murals every Labor Day
This place is so neat! To look at all the beautiful and interesting artwork from so many artists. You will need to mark sure you have enough time to look over everything as the flood wall is very long. Taking some great pictures is a must. Great for teenagers also!
There was some REALLY great murals but mostly tags, nasty trash left everywhere, which is sad as it takes away from the art, tons of used spray cans everywhere. Alot of people smoking weed and drinking (Incase you're bringing children) at least we when went. (Which was an event)
Worth it to go see all the great art and tags. Ever-changing because people go and tag on top of existing art. It's just fun to see!
Not sure how this place normally is, as I went on a Sunday morning for my first time. So, I can’t say how safe or busy is normally is. There was a cop around, and the traffic was on and off.
It is an easy walk from the Archgrounds. I don’t know where people are supposed to park, but there are plenty of places people can pull over for a shot picture or two.
Part of the areas was extremely trashed, but I did see some people picking up trash. Again, I don’t know if is normal.
Even though the whole thing is a continuous work in progress, the art on the walls was amazing. It would be cool to see someone working on a piece.
It was really cool even though some people said the best time was right around Labor Day weekend. There was still a lot of really cool art and I loved it. I also must mention that it was a little sketchy in the very beginning but was fine the farther you went down. I think if the city paved the path and cleaned up a bit it would feel MUCH safer. Overall I would recommend for sure.
We came through to stretch our legs and see something different to break up a 24 hour road trip. We weren't expecting nearly as much as we saw... It was insanely long and we ride through the whole way just to see exactly how long. Turns out it's the longest graffiti wall in the US! The best stuff is on the beginning. It gets to be just take after a while but still really cool. There is some super fun and great art. Worth the stop.
One of the most creative spaces in St. Louis. Artists from all backgrounds came together and created a mile long masterpiece against the flood walls.
The experience is always beautiful and ever-changing. You could come and take tons of pictures without duplicating them.
Looking forward to taking my kids back and making more memories.
Very cool! Great areas for artists to express themselves and their ability. Its dirty but dont let that take away from the experience. If they want it cleaner maybe they could put trash cans around- I did see a city worker picking up some trash.
Oh man so much talent in the area!!!
Pretty awesome! Take a ride along Graffiti Wall and admire all of the time and effort that these artist put into their works of art. Plan to spend time looking at each section. You will need to put a good distance between your vehicle and the wall to truly appreciate the talent that went into the artist work.
I'm trying to spread the gospel about this place. Take your friends here when they visit so that they think you are edgy and artsy.
Super dirty!! Not the greatest area. Several Syringes laying around. Broken glass everywhere. Drug deal going on. Definitely don’t go alone with small children. However, art work is great.
We walked the length. So moving. This from the author of "The Reckoning of Rance." My latest novel listed in westerns, at amazon and select bookstores across the nation. A western novel, yet not the western you might believe. Instead a modern day ranch saga, where greed and inheritance gone wrong determines everything and for one man, his entirety.
Increadable artwork. Very impressive. A must see!
It's amazing, what the Paint Louis team has done down here. These works of art are in the most perfect museum. There is something for everyone, the range of artists on display shows the community we have built here in St. Louis. There are actually artists from all over, not just St. Louis on this mile-plus stretch. This is definitely something to see, just keep strolling past the arch while you are sightseeing on Leonor K Sullivan Blvd.
It is an ever changing wall of graffiti that reflect the thoughts of the city. If you like street art it is worth checking out. Just make sure you are aware of your surroundings as this is in a relatively remote area of downtown!
Beautiful mile wall of many talented graffiti artists. My daughter, grandson, and I really enjoyed looking at it all and taking the most beautiful and unique pictures to have as memories. God bless all of the artists that were allowed to have a place to showcase their talents. Great idea St. Louis, Missouri!!😁😁😁 …
Dope spot for photos and viewing some cool street art
If you go to location on gps, you can park in this area. But if you turn right onto Wharf st from Chouteau, it takes you to beginning of the mile. No bathroom around, so go ahead of time. Great place for pictures and avoid area at night.
Cool to see all the graffiti
Probably one of the coolest things we've ever seen on one of our little family road trips to Saint Louis. Happened on it by accident and would never have known about it had we not went driving around downtown after visiting the Arch. My kids loved it!
Murals done by graffiti artists. However, unless you are present immediately after the murals were updated / finished, there are always "additions" added by others. These could be tags, profanity, or the ever-common male anatomy. This area is not busy in the mornings to afternoon, but eventually pikes of photographers, kids wanting to hang out, motorcycles / tuned cars / four-wheelers, and others crowd this place. Loud music, loud vehicles, and loud crowds.
Photo sessions here have become absolutely cliche and boring. It's an ok place, be wary of all the extras.
If you're looking to film video here, be aware of not only the humans but the trains, airplanes, and helicopters that regularly ruin audio and framing.
Every St. Louisian should take all out of town guests here. This is another awesome and absolutely free feature that STL has to offer. Worth taking kids to, guests, great for pics or even a day date.
As a resident of STL, I didn't even know all of this wonderful wall art existed! Very very impressive and shout out to all of the artist!
Worth a look. The artist did a great job
Wall is great place to visit around memorial day weekend. All the graffiti is new and untouched. Good place to start before setting of along the river and the arch
Unique strip along the river. The artistic talents are incredibly displayed here
So vibrant with colors.. a must see in St. Louie! They're multiple walls.
This wall of living expression is ever-changing, as local artists share their images over time. Whereas galleries and museums often have elitist approaches to selecting art, this open-share space gives us art of The People, by The People, for The People.
🤘Props and gratitude to the artists who make this wall so very amazing!!
Awesome experience to ride in a golf cart all the way up the wall. It's about 2-3 miles, starts at the South end of the Arch and ends at the Arsenal
There are some beautiful murals. Sometimes, art is indistinguishable from vandalism
Pretty cool. Easy parking to get to Arch
A worthwhile free attraction near the major downtown attractions to look at. The walls are for flood control and go on for a very long while and almost are completely filled with tasteful grafetti.
A lot of great art work and very talented artists. If you like murals this place is pretty cool. A must go and see.
Paint louis is great check it out!!
I just wish they open the riverfront back up
Let down tiny little piece of art no mile. Update only seen little piece because I didn't go the other way there was a lot of art just has to b light to see it.
It's really pretty no doubt, but needs to be maintained well, had broken glass near d walls, someo Of The work has been covered all blue by The aurthories I believe ,and smells kinda bad like urine so yaa
Cool art, but driving is a bit sketchy. Roads are not good if you drive through it. Awesome though for adults or a quick stop!
This was some amazing graffiti art!
Beautiful, artists worked so hard and I just love the place I wish the artists would come paint the walls in my house I just can't get over some of their work. Just wow.
Good chill spot to see some fantastic art. It's in a very removed part of town so being observant about your surroundings is a must.
Beautiful artwork and such a great place to enjoy a stroll
Super coooool spot i love my city many dont understand but love every bit of it because it can be raw and greddy two manicured and and pretty. Outdoor artwork to Gardens to museum to buildings everything about st. Louis in Missouri is beautiful
Amazing artwork the entire way. Just careful where you drive. Some serious potholes along the way.
Paint Louis, great experience for the family, lots of beautiful art
Neat place to go to see original art work......I also thought it was a neat/nice idea to allow artist to express themselves there without any kind of repercussions.......
I enjoyed the graffiti walls.
Well I visited the other side of it the ugly side with trash over run and witnessed two trucks doing illegal dumping
Amazing art, love the murals and the yearly event. Lots of litter in the area though
I like it because represent freedom.
Was Extremely Niice! Great Place To Shoot A Video. I Love Art And It Was Completely Astonishing The Way People Express Themselves. Very Abstract
Paint St. Louis is a great event, artists from all over the country come to fill the wall with all styles of graffiti. What you're really going to find are some artistic masterpieces.
Cool artwork down there, but VERY SKETCHY HOOD! Be aware of whats happening around you at ALL times!
really a neat place. impressive pieces the whole way down - but also constantly changing.
Not sure why they dont allow on the north side
The pop art, street art or however you prefer to call it, shows on this side of the city the wit of whoever thought on congregate the persons who painted it. Kudos for the street artists, the intelectual actor behind it and the city of Saint Louis, MO.
🤙 An urban American treasure …
Its relaxing to visit the river front and see our local artists 🎨 work one of a kind art. …
Stunning representations of the minds and hearts of hundreds of artists, both well-known and not so well known. Very inspiring and mind blowing diversity in style and scope.
Must see for anyone that comes to STL
Great place for shady activities
It was super fun to drive up and down looking at all the graffiti! I highly recommend this place!
This ever-changing wall of art is amazing. Every time you visit, be it once a week or once a year, there will be a previously unseen masterpiece to discover.
I was actually 1 of the creators of this mural when we named it PaintLouis
If you have already been to The City Museum, go here. If not, go to the City Museum and then go here. Then, you will have gone to the 2 most unique places in St. Louis.
Great artwork to be seen here. It's not that popular yet. This reminds me of Hope Gallery in Austin and I'm glad St. Louis has something like this.
Recently shot some video of the graffiti wall. Worth the visit.
I've never seen anything like this! The artist are great! The paintings are BEAUTIFUL!
Hidden gems laying low in the shadows. Come spin some wool and snap a pic or two. The view of the arch is outstanding 😉 …
Not a single person there. It needs to be cleaned up and graffiti not authorized painted. The art that is authorized is fantastic!
It's cool if this is your thing, and I'm sure the pieces are always changing.
It's very peaceful a nice place for tourist or if you wanna just get a piece of mind.
Not safe for kids but is a good cruise of graffiti wall
Awesome graffiti, a must if visiting STL
Awesome display of graffiti done by artist from all over the Country for "Paint Louis". All done on the flood walls along the Mississippi riverfront
This really colorful piece of art is so kewl, when you think graffiti you think tacky unorganized, many hands in the stew, this is just the opposite, it's a must see, when visiting The St Louis Arch.
Could not know this place existed. Was definitely worth the trip.
Loved it all. Shout out to all the amazing and talented artists.
Me and the fam loved it!! It got a little sad because there was a lot of pain on that wall but the pure talent outweighed the pain✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽 …
Beautiful artistry and the local organizers are so passionate and legit. Loved it!
This is a super cool date spot. It's so awesome to see all of the work. Super awesome stuff.
Nice STL MURAL with much respect given. The Genuine ART is self explanatory.
I love the art work
Really cool. It was awesome driving and walking along all the graphiti
Great artwork! Good photo session area photo 📷 🎨🖌 …
Amazing place to visit...and as an aspiring photographer it was a blast to snap some pics
Super fun to go to for paintlouis!
Best place for a bike ride in the whole city. Redone every year! Paint louis!!
Dope art from graffiti painters across the world. A must see for visitors
Wht an EXPERIENCE 💙💙 THE MURAL DOWN THERE ARE JUST UNBELIEVABLE AND THOSE ARTISTS ARE TALENTED WITH THE SPRAY PAINT ARTWORK 💯 …
Good for taking pics (STL Graffiti Wall)
I love most kinds of art. This shows feelings.
We take all dance pictures here. The art is beautiful.
Beautiful place to take pics
Nice but a tad bit sketchy at night but nothing different from your typical downtown, big city experience.
Very artsy area. Ugly graffiti has overrun the beautiful murals, so sad.
Super cool
Great works of art on the flood wall. Definitely a sight to see!
It's the riverfront.. of course it was enjoyn
Amazing !
Beautiful but certain times it's best not to visit
Nice place for photos r videos. Very vivid and colorful.
Most definitely my favorite place in stl
Great place to hang out and check the art
Absolutely stunning STL has so much talent
Nice place to visit something different something new love the artwork on the walls
Neat! You can drive the full length.
Unqiue but constantly watching out for danger makes this an adult only type of visit.
Graffiti is cool but the location is definitely not a place to be around dark.
Really cool graffiti and art. This place is a secret gem of street art from St. Louis.
Pretty cool, right next to Gateway Arch.
They asphalted the road that runs along the graffiti wall. Much easier to drive along now.
The murals are nice but they need to clean up around the wall
Amazing artwork!
Great works of graffiti art on display. A good use public property.
So thankful for my trip to the wall. Check out the Nate Moore video that was shot here!
Really cool place to take senior pictures for high school
Always love seeing how these murals change.
Love this place. Lots of cool stuff to see.

Beautiful art
Always love seeing the new styles on the wall.
The art is awesome but the place is kind of sketchy
Cool landmark to snap some pictures in front of.
Miles long floodwall decorated with constantly changing spraypaint art and graffiti.
It was awesome. Great talent.
