Reviews of Old Courthouse
Unbelievably kept and for great reason. Also a tremendous place to sit in the front steps and watch the sunrise over the Mississippi and through the arch.
This is the old and picturesque building with some history behind it and it stands in a very beautiful place.
Beautiful to see! Unfortunately it wasn’t open for us to tour due to renovations! Still was nice to snap pics of and see in person!
Beautiful courthouse! Due to current restrictions, they were not allowing anyone inside for a tour. But the park was pretty to walk through and get different views.
Great spot to come in and see some of the exhibits about the history of the expansion in the West. Also you can pick up tickets for the Gateway Arch here as well. They even had a live demonstration and music when I went which was cool. Also offers great views of the Arch.
Very clean, amazing sculpture right before the park and a majestic building. A must see if you are in St Louis!
I love old buildings in history. The architecture in this building is completely amazing. Just walking through it’s tall hallways I can tell a lot happened here. It’s a beautiful place and a beautiful building
Absolutely Beautiful and free to see! Oldest Building, built in 1816, in St. Louis and where the Dred Scott case was held and where the women's right to vote was brought to trial.
Right across from the Gateway Arch, the Old Courthouse is worth a quick visit given the beautiful architecture and proximity from the arch. The Old Courthouse is definitely worth a walk through when visiting the Arch in St. Louis. The building is beautifully maintained .
If nothing else, just to stand where the Dred Scott case was heard is something special. The rotunda inside is breathtaking and be sure to see the the Dred Scott statue outside. You won't need a great deal of time to see this - it was a perfect walk through on our way to the arch.
Closed for the next couple of years due to renovations. This was disappointing.
Spectacular! The location is perfect, at walking distance to the part of most popular Saint Louis tourist attractions. Such as Gateway Arch, Basilica of Saint Louis, Riverfront, Citygarden sculpture park., Busch Stadium.
A centerpiece of downtown, the Old Courthouse is one of the oldest structures still standing in the city. Construction started in 1816 and the dome was added in 1864. It's a beautiful building that radiates with history, most notably as the trial location for Dred Scott. The interior has exhibits about the case and others relations to St. Louis history.
Beautiful and well maintained historic site, run by the National Park Service. They have great examples of preserved turn of the 20th century court rooms, and phenomenal original murals in the classic rotunda.
The exterior of the building is beautiful and well maintained. Unfortunately when we visited the interior was closed for renovation. The park service which runs it should do a better job of keeping the current status up to date so people are not disappointed when they arrive
A lovely old building downtown not far from the Gateway Arch. It was also the place we picked up our tickets to go up into the arch. The interior of this building is very impressive and worth a quick walk through.
At least during Summer 2017, the Old Courthouse served as the gateway to the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial and the Gateway Arch. Clearly, the National Park Service is hard at work renovating the area for tourists. The construction makes it a bit tight in some places, so that may make some hallways inaccessible, but they're doing their best indoors. I'm sure it will be a five-star establishment when finished. For now, spend some time in the rotunda examining the gorgeous construction and display of American flags. Outside, the grounds and surrounding trails are clean and well-marked. We parked on one of the side streets in the pedestrian mall opposite the Old Courthouse and had plenty of time to explore during our 90-minute stay.
A sight to see and experience. Educational and lots of history as you walk through and read about the Scott case and slave trades here in St. Louis. A great place to teach your kids this history that they barely touch on in school.
Good place to take kids to teach them some history. Adults who doesn't anything about their forefathers must visit this old court house to learn the same thing
Worth a quick stop if you’re viewing the Arches. Very important in history as well since the Dred Scott Case was decided at this location.
Beautiful piece of history.
It’s a must place to visit.
Just awesome!
The Old Courthouse is a beautiful and fascinating building and by far the highlight of my visit to St Louis. There are many very informative displays throughout, and the architecture and artwork of the building itself are breathtaking. I was particularly moved by the fact that this is the building where Dred Scott himself stood and pleaded his case for freedom. It's well worth a visit, and FREE!
Excellent museum and great visitor center! Helpful staff and guides available for assistance! A must see for history and culture!
This place was stunningly beautiful from the outside and inside. The guide inside was so informative and clearly loved his job. He got us so excited about how sound travels through the old court house and how political speeches were given and even showed us ourselves!
The museum portion was super informative and interesting to read through additionally.
Operated by the National Parks Service in downtown St. Louis, the Old Courthouse is a Federal style building was completed in 1828 and is most noted for being the location of the landmark Dred Scott case in 1846. After years of court battles, the U.S. Supreme Court in 1857 ruled against the Scotts, saying they did not have grounds as citizens to sue. Today the courtrooms and offices house exhibits on life in St. Louis throughout the years, plus of course the Scott case.
Much less crowded than the Arch, with still great impact on our country's judicial history. Rarely do we remember our history of the things we got wrong.

So much history in one tiny building. Love it! Would recommend if anyone is interested in a history lesson.
Do you like history? Well, this is a place to visit. Plenty of history in downtown St. Louis.
Beautiful historic building. Make sure you visit the inside as well.
It's amazing to know the history in St. Louis, it's another thing to stand in the shadows of it. But the most fun was getting to share a little of it with the audience from the St. Louis Small Business Independence Day Celebration. It was an honor to speak about the historic Dred Scott case with my business partner. If you haven;t had a chance to visit this place and see this statue, you should!
Excited were nice. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. 6 yr old enjoyed all the displays and architecture.
Interesting historical location, a lot f history, and great museum!
Wow the History is here!! You can spend a fair amount of time here and ALL is free... Worth your time! There is a lot of construction currently!
The Old Courthouse is a must see when visiting St. Louis. The architecture and historical significance of this building are quite fascinating.
A beautiful piece of history. I enjoyed that I was able to walk anywhere I wanted around this building. We enjoyed a self guided tour.
This is a historic courthouse in great condition. The museum goes on and on, with so much history of St. Louis and Missouri. It housed the courtroom where Dred Scott and his wife first sued for their freedom from slavery.
The Old St. Louis County Courthouse was built as a combination federal and state courthouse in St. Louis, Missouri. Missouri's tallest habitable building from 1864 to 1894, it is now part of Gateway Arch National Park and operated by the National Park Service for historical exhibits and events
Mysterious place. Definitely deserves to spend time to walk in. Specially if you like Dan Brown type of books you can find so many secret elements as symbols, paintings and architecture itself.
Beautiful architecture, and history offered free to the public, walking distance to arch
Really pretty building and neat to be right across from the Gateway Arch.
Beautiful. It had snowed s lot that day it was especially charming. Gotta love St. LOUIS.
Great place to visit alone or with the family. Very helpful and informative staff. Lots of great pictures for the album /scrapbook.
Great historical courthouse. I just wish it was open.
Great views of the arch and river from here. The rangers are very nice.
I liked the view from the top of Arch but the structure is really old and outdated, kind of scary at times.
Must see. A great American historic treasure
Beautiful building outside and inside as well! Great place to bring your kids for the history lesson, and of course to educate yourself. On the day of our visit the guide was dressed up, so it felt like history actually came alive. Do not overlook it, the Gateway arch right behind the courthouse. Start with a little schooling and finish at the top of the arch! That's what we did, and enjoyed it all the way!
It's a Museum. The building is preserved and looks incredible
Historic and beautiful structure. We did a walk through but there were NP staffers there to answer questions or point out details as well. Many interesting and dramatic architectural details...the beautiful staircase, the wood accents, the dome, and of course the events that occurred in the building. You can view two courtrooms of different time periods, that are used for tours, also field trips for school children who reenact a pretend case, mock trials such as "the stolen bubble gum" or similar... a big hit!
What a beautiful and well maintained historical landmark. The architecture and artwork contained inside and out of this building is remarkable. The dome is just extrodinary. And the history! If these walls could talk! Which, they kind of do with all the wonderful exhibits.
Worth the visit if you like history. Woman at the gift shop was fantastic, really loves her job and chatting with customers.
Very interesting. The building has a lot to look at.
Great spot for tourists, close to the Arch and other St. Louis city attractions.
Good looking historical building from the inside and outside
We enjoyed the opportunity to explore the inside of this historic old courthouse with its ornate art, iron staircases, and architecture not seen any more. A positive contrast with the sharp plain square courthouses built now. Cute gift shop. This is part of Gateway Arch National Park. The history is always worth knowing and revisiting. The courtrooms have changed much over time, in some places. The building is in fantastic shape.
Very beautiful, wonderful history!!
This is a very nice place which has nice paintings describing topics such as slavery in America, and details of settlement around the Mississippi river with particular information related to St. Louis.
The view of the Gateway Arch from this place is also fabulous.
The dome fitted onto the top of the courthouse has interesting history behind it, and exploring that while walking through the courthouse was a fun experience.
Great exhibits. Overpriced gift shop.
This review is for “Old Courthouse”. Some people can’t read and leave their construction Arch reviews here.
Place is gorgeous. The art inside the dome is magnificent. Nice historical displays and replica courtrooms.
Great stop for people of all ages.
For the best picture, Walk up to the runner fountain.
So I may be a law nerd, but I loved this place! Beautiful interior and a great history lesson about Dred Scott. Go spend 30 minutes here when you go to the Arch. There is a gift shop and restroom inside and you tour at your own pace, but there is a park ranger there to answer questions if you wish. A perfect combination of historically important and architecturally beautiful. The location is convenient too.
Still closed. Not much to see.
Adding on to the city beautiful view
Cool to see. Neat building right in front of the arch
Great place to see and your, ran by The National Park
I enjoyed visiting here. Nice little history
An underrated historic landmark in St. Louis. The exhibit about the Scott case is well presented. I enjoyed my time there. Took about 1.5 hours to do everything in the place. I was hoping there was a tour, but there was not the day I was there. Check the board near the Ranger desk for tour times/availability.
As a fan of John Grisham I love visiting sites like this. This was a random stop to see the arch and I was not expecting everything that was in there! Lots of interesting history. Great artwork and architecture. It can get a bit hot so be sure to come on cooler days.
Beautiful and well kept. This building is a must see! The architecture alone is breath taking. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable too. I'd highly recommend taking the time to see this piece of history.
View from the top is great, and the story behind building the arch is always interesting!
Lots of history here. You can spend as little or as much time here as there's lots to see for those that are interested.
Such a fun experience riding the tram to the top. Great views bring your camera Be sure to tour the Dred and Harriet Scott exhibit in the old court house. Area around is currently under construction so leave enough time to find parking.
All the times in STL I have never hit this site.
Took the time and it was worth learning the history of the building.
Old courtrooms were very neat the architecture of the interior was mind blowing and the art inside the dome was insane.
Take the time go visit!
The Old Courthouse has been turned into a museum about St. Louis. It is free. We were tired, so we didn't stay long. There are steep stairs to the second floor, and no elevator. After visiting so many other sites, I felt the history was starting to repeat. But it would be a great starting point or a helpful place for someone wanting in-depth information.
I have been to the ST. Louis Arch a few times but because of the construction on that site, we had to go to the Old Court House for tickets. It was a wonderful detour. I didn't know all the history of that courthouse and the interior was beautiful. I recommend bringing the kids to see this piece of history.
Fantastic place to visit. The history in this place is amazing. The volunteers are really friendly and knowledgeable. My kids loved going to all the different floors and looking at the lobby from above. Well worth the time.
Don't fret about the construction--it will be done soon enough, and then the park will be even better than before! A lot of folks don't realize that the Old Courthouse is part of the park, and that there are some fascinating displays inside. Be sure to allow time to see both that building and the Arch. Once all construction is said and done, the easiest thing to do is park in the Kiener East garage at Broadway and Pine, walk over to the Old Courthouse, then walk down to the Arch.
This historic site it the site of the Dread Scott case. The inside is absolutely breathtaking. You can wallk the staircases upward. Once one the second level you will undoubtably notice a slight change in elevation of the floors from front to back. They slant them upward from front to back. The courtrooms, while you can tell have been rearranged from their original setting, are architecturally beautiful. There is still the quiet business like atmosphere associated with a court building. As you stand there you are ushered into a historical past that formed our nation into what it is today. Visit the gift shop there are all kinds of neat and interesting trinkets. MUST SEE.
Currently you have to go to the old courthouse to buy tickets for the arch. Assuming that doesn't change it's a great way to do two things at once. Get your arch passes and then stick around and view the amazing architecture as we as the deep, entering history of the city, it's streets. And it's monuments. Fun and educational at the same time.
Wonderful place to learn about the history of St. Louis.
Yet another place of historic value in St. Louis. The place is a museum and has the visitor's center for the Gateway Arch and thus serves as a starting point to the Gateway Arch, which is right opposite to this monument. The building is now part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. If you go up the stairs, you can see a couple of old circuit courts.
Great to learn some local St Louis and area history.
Beautiful and historic. Lots of information on the great and not so great history of St. Louis. Casually walk through and soak in the atmosphere and history. Check out the gift shop for cool St. Louis gear.
Iconic & has just about the best background of any place in the city.
Architecturally, the building is a lovely example of its time(s). We did -- I hesitate to say enjoy -- the Dred Scott exhibit and film. It was informative and infuriating.
Well worth going to see and think about.
forgotten STL gem. Nice museum and such history. you can climb 3 levels up and get a real feel for the charm of the building which is one of the oldest downtown. Took in laws there and had a great time. Nice shop too with some great books.
Wonderful place to visit while in Saint Louis. The architecture is beautiful and the location has significant history. The Dredd Scott case originated there. There are nice museum displays on several topics inside (western expansion, Dredd Scott case, Pioneer living, etc).
Beautiful monument! Great facility beneath the park as well with two theaters, two gift shops, and a free museum - all contained in a huge bunker beneath the Arch.
I did not visit the courthouse as time did not permit.
The museum under the arch isn't slated to open until 2017, so that took a bit of the fun out of it.
It's a marvel to see and the view from the top is exhilarating - unless you happen to live where your accustomed to views from way up high...just saying :-)
Great place to visit and learn about the building's history, especially Dred Scott decision, and now (maybe since the Jefferson Westward Expansion under the Gateway Arch is closed for renovations?) there are also exhibits about St Louis' early history and it's' role in westward expansion.
Beautiful scenery. Such cleanliness. The electric scooters automatically slow down in the area to prevent accidents. Beautiful spot for sight seeing and enjoying the view!
Beautiful old court house during Ameren lights festival!
Absolutely beautiful historic building that everyone should visit at least once. It is not far from the Gateway Arch or the Old Cathedral so one could make an afternoon of visiting all three.
The Dred Scott exhibit was very good. A constantly running film presented the story very well. I learned a lot.
My family enjoyed a restored court room on the second floor. It is not handicapped accessible.
The old Courthouse is handicapped accessible by a lift from the west side only.
We didn't explore the westward expansion exhibit today but saved it for the next visit.
Beautiful historic building with a few museum areas inside. You can go up three floors into the dome to admire the paintings and architecture.
History bluffs paradise. So much to see and learn the history that can really amaze an person with the deepest touch. The old court rooms and the top dome can make an photographer stay all day. I personally recommend everybody to go there.
Good historical place to visit, nice painting
Love the old courthouse. Tons of great history, architecture and exhibits. Security is a bit lacking as we were cased by three different people who were intent on mugging us. If you go, just remember to keep an eye out for suspicious characters.
Great history.
As out of towners you just have to go up in the arch right? We enjoyed it and it's one of those things you can say you did. Would my life be okay without it...sure. The ride to the top is a little freaky. The view to the east isn't pretty (industrial) but the west is breathtaking. The park and grassy area would be perfect to picnic on during warmer weather. The gift shop has great material on all tjingse Civil War and westward expansion.
Great place to see what St. Louis is really about. A rich history.
This is an important space in our country's history, and a visit is worthwhile. The space is beautiful, and the exhibits are informative. The video she'd some new information on the Dred Scott case I didn't know. I'm glad I'm a more informed citizen now. Even this science nerd geeked out on history. Let America never repeat an error like the Dred Scott rolling again.
Beautiful structure, friendly staff. We had a great tour with Nancy, she does the mock Dred Scott trial but not enough folks to do it so we basically got a personal tour, absolutely great! Thanks Nancy
Do you know that Jefferson National Expansion Memorial actually consists of the Gateway Arch, the Museum of Westward Expansion, and St. Louis' Old Courthouse?
Where you stand is actually St. Louis' Old Courthouse! As one of the oldest standing buildings in St. Louis, it begun in 1839. Here is the place to hold the first two trials of the famous Dred Scott case in 1847 and 1850.
Today, as the landmark, here is the great museum presented the history of the city of St. Louis and restored courtrooms.
Great place to see some history. Beautifully built and excellent maintenance work. You can pickup tickets for the Arch and buy some cool gifts.
Don't miss this great place when you visit the arch. Fantastic atrium/dome and fascinating historic exhibits, explaining the whole history of the area and St. Louis important role in western exploration and expansion.
Incredible history stored inside there. You will be transported to the past and the see what the legal system was like way back when. Amazing documents from Times Gone by. The lawmakers thoughts and attitudes are encapsuled in many of the pictures writings and legal documents. A must see for history and legal Buffs alike
Fun place! Great place for the entire family! You can ride to the top and also enjoy a fantastic museum at the bottom of the arch. Lots to do around the arch as well
This is a cool courthouse. What is really neat is that the gift shop does not charge tax....so you can save money by buying some souvenirs in the courthouse, instead of the arch. Another neat thing is that the courthouse and the arch are right across the street from each other.
This was a pleasant find when visiting St. Louis. It was enlightening to visit a courthouse where such a historic case was decided. We definately did not dedicate enough time in our schedule to fully explore the courthouse and will have to visit it again in the future.
Considering this structure is 50 years old I was quite terrified going up. the room at the top is very small with too many people, and the windows are also very small. Might had been mind blowing back then but it doesn't hold up for today's standards
Beautiful building inside and out. A must see if visiting the Arch. A bit of a somber tone, due to the ruling of the Dred Scott case (1857), which stated that African-Americans are not citizens, but it's nice to see how far we've come since then.
Excellent place to get a detailed history of St. Louis
We spoke to an older gentleman who works there for nearly an hour. He took so much pride in his city and workplace. He shared all kinds of stories that really gave our visit to the courthouse a special twist.
While only a city/county courthouse , the interior of the dome rivals many State capitals. There is a circle in the floor, laid in 1854, where your voice dramatically increases in volume due to the curved walls and dome. There are visual tricks made by the architect which caused me to believe that the dome is higher than it really is. All in all, this is a hidden jewel.
A great place for history buffs interested in the early days of St. Louis. Displays, pictures, and artifacts mske up the exhibits. A large gallery tells the story of the Dred Scott connection to St. Louis, as well as the whole issue of slavery during the time of the middle of the 19th century. Well worth a visit.
We visited 2 weeks ago. The guide was very knowledgable. We found the history very interesting. So glad we came in after our visit to the Arch!
It's a beautiful old historic building with nice informative exhibits. Very nice view of the Arch from the front steps of the building too.
A really interesting place to learn about a court case which changed America. The building is beyond beautiful and the whole experience is gratifying. I would suggest a stop by, especially for history nuts!
Lots to see and learn! Nice to always revisit to.
Awesome structure. Went end of August and there's construction going on for a new museum so a bit inconvenient. Word is it won't be completed for two more years so be aware.
The rangers inside the courthouse were extremely friendly and knowledgable. They showed us a cool trick in the middle of the central hall - ask them so they show you, too! The Dred Scott museum was fascinating. You will learn the true story of Dred Scott's case, which is much different than what the history books at school tell you!
This old courthouse is awesome, we visited it at the end of the day and the A/C wasn't that strong. So it was a bit boring compared to the Arch. Loved the history and the architecture.
I love history because you can walk in the same places and get a feel for the events that have shaped our country. Standing in the same room as the Dred Scot trial really brings the trial to life.
The Old Courthouse is part of the entire Saint Louis Arch historical area. It's a very interesting place to be in with a lot of history, and this combined with the Arch is a place I plan on bringing my little boy as we come through Saint Louis as we head back west.
Nice to see the old wood door and court rooms.
Lots of history, great architecture. We were there for the George Washington ball, the dancers in period clothing was lots of fun!
This is a great place to take people who like history. The staff is always great. Only the down stairs in accessible by wheelchair but they are planning to put in a elevator.
What a great place to begin your visit to St Louis! Fantastic help with recommendations, tickets, information and local attractions. Lots of history and a great gift shop, too.
Super cool place, have been multiple times when it was open. Can't wait to go again!
Nice museum, especially for free. So cool to walk the same steps as Dred and Harriet Scott in pursuit of their freedom prior to the Civil War.
We had an exceptional time at the Arch! Very well worth the time for the experience. Go to the Arch and take the trip to the top. You won't regret it!
Very beautiful and educational. It was wonderful to explore this monument and learn about Missouri history.
grate art - architectural work, love the historical construction video
If you have the opportunity to stop to check this place out it is a must! Ask one of the rangers or employees about the main room, there is an amazing feature there that will literally blow your mind!
Nice place to visit. Only negative is there's not enough black history included. Hopefully, as times have changed for the better for all mankind, that too will change.
Great place to see. Information everywhere. They were even holding a meeting while we were there! I love how you can walk around almost the whole court house!
This was a very cool little museum, can't wait to see it after the construction. Don't forget to get your Arch tickets here!
They were celebrating George Washington's birthday and the workers were Period dressed, and they demonstrated Period dancing engaging the public to join in the dance. Very informative and fun.
Learned a lot about the Dred Scott decision, most interesting that after spending all the money to take suit to the US Supreme Court, the owner turned around and sold the family back to the original owners, for a dollar, who the next day took them to the same court house and gave them their freedom
Arch and documentary were great - old courthouse and it's history were also very good. Parking can be an issue, traffic in the area is definitely an issue.
Interesting place run by the National Park Service. Free admission. Beautiful building and dome. Interesting history of the Dred Scott case.
Actually, I was surprised to see a monument dedicated to Dred Scott who, in 1846, unsuccessfully sued his master for his freedom. The suit became so infamous until the Scott family was freed by other means in 1856.
Beautiful building! I am not a native of St. Louis so seeing this part of its history was wonderful!
It's a "have to go" place. That's the most tourist place of st. Louis. It's interesting how you can see it miles far away. Try to take the elevator and take some pictures.
Beautiful old building with lots of interesting history. The exhibits were informative and well curated.
A must see when visiting St. Louis! The 4 minute ride in an enclosed tram to the top is claustrophobic but worth the trouble. The Arch grounds and museum have recently been updated. Can be accessed from MetroLink.
This place was beautiful. I loved the atmosphere and it was spaced out perfectly. I highly recommend this place if you want something fun and free!
Really cool! Lots of history here and some interactive events (that we didn't get to participate in because we didn't plan for it) like a public participation trial.
Long lines and slow but steady. Bring all the ID you have, it can help. Also proof of address, a bill or two addressed to you.
Great place to visit if going to the arch since it’s walking distance
Nice place, very nice museum
Very pretty building. Loved the history, but they need to start some restorations if they want to keep it around.
Super cool building with so much history! This place was awesome, like stepping into the past.
Another great place in St Louis worth a visit and learn about history. O also liked the grounds in front of the building.
Really nice and interesting place. I had never been over to the court house in the many times that I have been to the arch.
The museum exhibit about slavery and the Dred Scott court decision, which occurred in this courthouse, pulls no punches. You can learn things here that your history book skipped over.
The park grounds of the Arch are under construction but still accessible as of Oct, 2016- don't miss the Old Courthouse nearby.
Awesome place. Great history. Amazing touching pre civil war staircases 1850's.
This place it's amazing, full of history, architecture, the guy inside was really nice and explained everything about it
History. I love how they preserved everything.
pretty neat place, a lot of historical information about what had taken place there, and other historical data as well. Check out all the rooms..
The National Park Rangers at both sites a very knowledgeable. The ride to the time of the Arch is unique as well, worth the trip!
Alot of info concerning a place still holding on to cultural indifference. Nice to learn tribe territories/lifestyles and see old pictures
Rich with beautiful history and Rangers that narrates stories of Dred Scott with exhibits explaining his journey this is a great place to take a family
This is a must see place. Absolutely beautiful. Very clean and workers were eager to help and knowledgeable.
There is such an unbelievable amount of history here at this Old Courthouse, 11 N 4th St, St. Louis, MO 63102. When in St. Louis make time to come and tour this and read everything to see how important it was in our countries history.
Winter fest ice skating. Good family fun.
I injoyed walking through the old courthouse with my dad, Scott, katarina and Isabella when we visited st,Louis. The people living in st, Louis are lucky.
Very nice courthouse across the arch. You can park off street for $1.50 / hr or at the garage for $5. Worth to check it out
I found the Old Courthouse to be a cool piece of history. Very easy to get around and a friendly staff.
Really nice historical place . Kids got to wear hats and march around they had a great time
Don't forget to look at the ceiling and go inside the 2 court rooms!
One of the best museums in Saint Louis! Top notch exhibits and lots of rich history .
Courthouse is the historically significant but boring... Arch is ok and the museum inside is worth seeing.
Neat historic building well worth a look inside, especially to get a view of the awesome dome!
This is a great historic place, and the front gate is the best place to take picture of the Arch and with the whole Arch with you together.
Best view of Saint Louis
Very fun yo explore, a little difficult to find and access. The Dred Scott exhibit is a must see!
Breathtaking view. Construction is still ongoing
open during construction but you will need to start getting tickets in advance for the tram ride as it sells out very quick.
Love to see the history don't care for the outside riffraff but I don't think it was or is their fault it's dangerous downtown
Great views of The Gateway Arch. Lots of history and really cool paintings on the dome.
We did not tour but stopprd n looked rather observed on way to Arch.
Outstanding. Looks good on the outside with new updates. Needs an elevator. Great history of St. Louis.
A hidden gem. Site of the Dred Scott trial, so it has great historical significance.
I love this place it's part of the Gateway Arch Jefferson Memorial National monument.
It's free and the History is rich in St. Louis.
Beautiful building. Interesting history. No pressure, took our time
Very nice courthouse with great architecture.
I just saw it from outside
Unfortunately the courthouse is closed today.
Learn more about Dred Scott, his wife, their two daughters...
...and the absolute, undeniable, bold faced, asshattery of then Chief Justice Taney!!!
Very interesting, wish I would have paid more attention to my history classes in school.
We had a blast in St. Louis
I loved the architecture of the old court house. And of course the gateway arch is very impressive.
Beautiful! Would recommend going to see. It's not a far walk from the the arch.
It's worth a quick.visit if you are in the area. Pretty impressive architecture
Really great experience... gorgeous architecture and history
Lots of history and information. Worth a visit, easily spend 2 hours inside.
Very cool place have to buy the tickets here to go up in the arch
I love the rich history and beauty of this place. It was a highlight in my visit to St. Louis
Great place to visit. History is very rich about the USA
It is well looking a old court. It is free to visit and you may get arc and bout tour tickets here, too.
Impressive. Lots of high entrances and steps. Great collection of kites on display
Cool place to visit to learn some history. Most doors are closed though...
Very nice touristic spot. You can buy tickets to the Arch here.
Was a wonderful tour thru this old building. A must see!
Stand in the middle of the court house has some really neat acoustics. and gorgeous architecture
Very quiet. You can climb up to the 3rd balcony and look out.
