This was our first time visiting Escape the Room and it’s now our favorite escape room in St. Louis! We did the Clock Tower escape room and it was well-constructed and very fun! What sets Escape the Room apart from others is the staff who work here. We called before visiting and a staff named Wilson was very accommodating and knowledgeable. After hearing what we were looking for, he recommended the Clock Tower room and it did not let us down! We ended up having him as our clue master and he made our experience a great one! Although it was our first time, he explained everything very well and was nice about addressing any questions before we entered the room. We were glad to have him as our guide for the tricky Clock Tower room. I will definitely be coming back to Escape the Room for its fun escape rooms and wonderful staff!

Had a great time here with my girlfriend for her birthday! We completed the Western Bank Heist room and I loved how creative it was! I dont want to give anything away so I'll just say it used some really cool game mechanics that I have not seen in other escapes rooms. Had Jacob as our Clue Master and he did a great job explaining everything to us and giving the occasional hint, especially since this was my girlfriend's first escape room. 100% would recommend!

We had a great time and successfully escaped the Clock Tower room! Wilson was a great game master and gave the perfect amount of clues. He did a great job explaining the storyline and made the experience extra fun! The puzzles were challenging but also plenty of fun! I would definitely recommend Escape the Room!

Jacob was a fabulous guide! He helped our family make it out of the Western Bank Heist after fumbling around quite a bit. It was hilarious my husband and I and are 7 and 9 year old children trying to “rob a bank” and escape. The puzzle and clues were challenging and so fun! Would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for family fun or fun with friends. We already started talking about the next one we want to do. Thanks Jacob! We will be back!

I am a big fan of escape rooms and we try to go to one in each place that we travel to. There was a group of six of us and I think that is the perfect number. I only wish I could have done every escape room. We did the theater one and I think it was a Good mix of easy and hard. We had to get help a few times but I really enjoyed and will definitely go back again if we're ever in town.

Our family of six did the Western Heist, it was honestly a bit too easy for our group, we got out with about 12 mins left. So good for families with younger kids for sure. Skylar was our hostess and she did a wonderful job!

We played as a group of two in the submarine. It was challenging but fun! We won by the skin of our teeth, but we won! Jacob was a great cluemaster, and his hint about not sticking stuff in the outlets saved us a load of time and energy.

This was super fun! I did the submarine room. We didn’t escape, but I would like to think we were close (even though we weren’t). I would definitely go back with mg friends to a different room.

We were in town from Salt Lake City and decided to stop in and try to escape. We did the Submarine room and Jacob was awesome. In the end we were so close and he helped us finish the last puzzle giving us 2 extra minutes and we finally escaped! So glad we could finish the puzzle! We hope to come back.

We had a great experience here. It was a ton of fun and while it was difficult, it wasnt impossible. We finished in 50 minutes. My only reason for giving it a 4 out of 5 was the price. It was a bit too high in my opinion, but would probably feel this way about any escape rooms. It felt $10 per person too pricy. Id go back more frequently if the price was lower.

Good place to build a bond. Decided to do the time travel experience it was cooler then we expected almost solved the puzzle but ran out of time. Start looking for clues soon as you get in the room don't waste anytime!! Lexi was a great clue master!

Had a lot of fun in the Sub, it was pretty difficult, but our host, Wilson, was very helpful with the clues! We managed to escape with only a few minutes left, but we had a good time! Highly recommend.

After trying out a different escape room location and being disappointed, we were drawn to Escape The Room. AWESOME CHOICE! My partner and I actually did two games in one day because the rooms are so aesthetically pleasing and immersive. We didn't quite beat The Clocktower, but we mastered The Theater after regrouping! lol! Jacob was such an awesome gamemaster through both. Very upbeat, funny, encouraging, and engaging. Wilson participated a bit with our second room and he was just as funny. Beyond that, both were so helpful, and when a couple small things didn't quite work on cue, they immediately jumped in to help and get us right back on track. Jacob even stuck out our second game because he saw we were set to win, which was very endearing. Can't wait till we're back in town to try the other two rooms. Hope they expand! Give this place a chance to win you over.. because it will! AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HINTS WHEN YOU'RE STUMPED! It's just a game. :)

My very first escape room years ago was with this company in Tampa, and I'm glad to be able to do new rooms here! The puzzles are tough but not impossible, and the room moderator is there to help out when needed. I enjoyed their 4 rooms from a few years ago and will be excited to try out their others soon! Edit: I've done 3 more rooms with them and have had a blast every time! Our most recent room and moderator, Samara, were great! Can't wait for new rooms to be added!

My work group (4 people) and I came here for our team bonding event and had an amazing time! We completed the Submarine room and while it was challenging it was completely solvable. The tech working the clues/behind the scenes, Will, was absolutely amazing and helped guide us when we got stuck. I highly recommend going here!

If y'all are looking for something fun to do and have an hour to spare, I highly recommend coming to Escape the Room St. Louis! I had a couple of friends in town and we decided to try an escape room for the first time, and we were not disappointed. Especially, with Wilson who was such a great clue master and host. He did an amazing job at setting the scene for the Clocktower room! I'll admit - we did not think that we were going to escape the room, but Wilson was able to provide hints at the right time without giving too much away!

It was really cool. I loved the ambiance and parts of the game. However, we did the submarine. I would give this puzzle a 0/5 since so many parts of it were just way too hard that even common sense wasn’t useful. Not to mention that part of the puzzle didn’t work, so it was impossible to solve. Another part was so exact due to magnets that even though we did it right, we didn’t get to move on which wasted a lot of our time. Great place just sad I chose this room.

We did the Western Bank Heist today for my son's 9th birthday and they LOVED it! I brought him with his brother(7) and they were so into it. I was so grateful the attendant helped them finish after our time was up. They rated the experience 10/10. Personally, I would add a little gift shop for souvenirs but overall if was great!

We've done all the rooms here. Lexy was awesome as our game master. This time we did the western bank heist. The puzzles were good but the room was a little beat up. It could use some tlc but we had a good time. As they make new rooms we will come do them too.

We did "The Theater" and had a lot of fun, despite some mishaps. I don't want to give away anything, but this room at least was very different from previous rooms I've done. Less props is all I'll say... The set design of the room was good and immersive. We did have some issues with the room. A couple things didnt work properly. And some of the set-up was done incorrectly. A staff member had to come in and give us missing pieces and/or fix things. They gave us some more time and were very apologetic. The staff was really great. It seems the issue is they are way understaffed. Makes no sense to have two employees and frooms! Good rooms I've done have a person on the clock for each room! That keeps things from going wrong. There were times we could tell we weren't being watched because we were quite at a loss (due to missing pieces) and stood around for a while before getting any help. Management - please hire and schedule more staff! The staff you have is great, but it's impossible for them to make things go perfectly smooth when they are so so busy. We were given a discount code for the future, so I definitely so want to go back here and try a new room when they are fully staffed.

The game itself was pretty awesome. We struggled but things moved along right for is to continue on. Lots of fun though. I had to take a star away because billing was weird. Not sure what happened but I ended up paying more than the people I was was with, everything should've been the same price. Children under 5 are free.

My group of 8 completed the “Theatre” escape room. Our game master, Jacob was terrific! He did not give us clues prematurely, but let us work as group and helped when (clearly) needed. If you’re looking for something extremely entertaining to do on an outing make sure you stop at Escape the Room and make sure you request Jake!!!!

I went to the escape room and it was so much fun. I was in the clock tower room and it was so challenging but I enjoyed it a lot. Our clue master, Hailey Diestelkamp, helped us by giving us clues when we couldn’t figure something out. She gave us clues that helped us move on in our challenge without giving away the answer. Amazing first-time experience with my family. Our game master was so friendly and helpful. We kept asking for hints lol. We had one minute left to crack open the safe and we would’ve won the game! We didn’t do it in time though. l would definitely recommend to everyone. We had a wonderful time in the Bank Heist room trying to look for clues and working as a team. My family thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it!

Absolutely loved this place. It does need a bit of an update on the game we played but the staff listened to my opinion on how could be improved. With and a few minutes left we finished this with just 2 people. Whether you have done many or this is your first one you can finish in time. Unlimited clues when they are needed not when you want them. At $41 a person it is not priced bad. So need something to do just book online and don't think to hard on the room. Have fun.

Overall a great experience! My family and I (ages 21-75) worked together and had a great time. Without giving away too much, my only complaint was there was one prop (in the bank heist) that even the room master agreed did not work well. I feel like if this is a known issue something should be done to change/fix it. That being said, please don't let that discourage you, because it was a great time and my family and I will be back very soon!

It was okay, they should spend more money and time on the game structure and less on the decor. Looks cool but the games are not super functional. Also, they gave hints without the players asking which tells me that the escape is so poorly set up they need to offer hints regardless of play skills.

We asked and were told that only 30% of groups finish in the one hour time. That's not great. The staff was nice and the actual room was well done but just super hard. I guess you really need to be on your game to win. I guide showed us the result after we lost and there is no way we could have figured it out on our own.

For our first escape room, my boyfriend and I had an absolute blast! We ended up doing the Agency, which was a Bond themed room, and it actually ended up being just the two of us -- which was nice. But if you're looking to book and don't have a big party, just be aware you may be in the room with other people. The puzzles were challenging but the girl who was our game master gave really great clues! The room was in great shape as well. We ended up escaping with just minutes to spare. Overall, it was a great experience and super fun. We definitely want to go back to experience the other rooms!! If you are in St. Louis, definitely check this place out!

My now fiancé and I met doing an Escape Room, so they have a special place in my heart. We've done several across the city and this is by far one of, if not my favorite. Ashley our clue master was humorous and patient despite how unruly and unorganized our group was. Several members of our group started off unmotivated. Twittling around with the same items for tens of minutes. By the end of the adventure everyone was doing everything they could to solve the last of the puzzles. Escape room Saint Louis was such an analytical and challenging team building experience! Our two teams competed between the Clocktower and Bank Heist rooms and both lefts us puzzled! I've done over 30 escape rooms at various places in St. Louis and this one is just okay. I've done three at this location and only really liked one of them. This place uses red herrings, just fyi. The clues don't always logically lead you to the next step either, like they don't always make sense, which leads to an over abundance of clues and everyone running around trying them at every lock or puzzle. The sets are pretty cool and the themes turn over which is a plus. It's the most expensive per person in St. Louis that I have found.

Awesome way to spend an hour with friends, enjoying a challenge. A couple things to note; there are props in each room that I've visited that look like they should have been replaced. Badly broken items replaced with duct tape, and lids bolted back on after someone forceably tried to open a clue. It doesn't necessarily detract from your overall experience.. but you'd think the company would fix it to make the room more immersive. Secondly, make sure your party is VERY attentive if you feel like you've found a code or another clue that may open something up.. their sound system is very lackluster in some spots, and audio cues can barely be heard over normal conversation. Before you know it, another 5 minutes has passed after you opened another clue, but you didn't notice anything happen or hear any audio, so you kept going assuming you entered the wrong code. After all of that... I would still definitely recommend this place & will try the rest of the rooms when I am back in town!

Went with a group of 6 total and we did the submarine room. This was the first escape room we've successfully completed, and with over 8 minutes to spare -- not sure if that's a sign of an easier room or of our increased experience in doing escape rooms. Lots of puzzles that kept us engaged; I felt like we all were instrumental in solving one or two puzzles each. In addition, the puzzles varied in style (number codes, riddles, logic puzzles, coordination, etc.) and nothing seemed unnecessarily obscure. I feel like only one clue was a bit too on-the-nose for our group. I'd highly recommend Escape the Room STL; we loved it!

I always have a great time here - have done all the rooms (I think) now. Over 3 days, we did 3 rooms - we did the Submarine and Clocktower, knowing they were one of the hardest rooms there, and then the Theater. Our game master was Oscar for submarine and theater and Ashley was our master for the clocktower. They both did great with giving us hints at the right time. Towards the end of the submarine, Oscar made us feel really dumb with the last clue but we laughed and realized that it was right I front of us (like the clue said). We thought we lost but we apparently beat it with 1 second to go. Definitely required out of the box thinking and attention to detail. We surprised ourselves with the Clocktower because we finished with around 7 minutes left and found all the clues relatively quickly. There were a lot of pieces and parts to it - felt like it was a never ending room! The Theater was the most enjoyable - the design and theme of the room was light and fun and the puzzles kept us on our toes! We had 5 people in all of the 3 rooms - the submarine was a little crowded but the other two were great in size. We booked all rooms ahead of time on their website very smoothly. All the staff I've encountered is awesome, super nice, and seem very into their job which makes it fun for us! Can't wait for new rooms!!

She gave us the directions on what we need to know, she even took the time on explaining what the escape room is doing for Covid precautions. We had a lot of fun! Do the Submarine Escape! Our wonderful facilitator Ashley let us know that it was the most challenging room there, so if you want to go easier check out the bank or theater (more family oriented). My wife and I have done about 20 or so escape rooms across the country and this escape room experience is at the top tier level. The room itself is very well done and immersive. Some of the clues I think could be more seamlessly strung together, and we never would've been able to make the connection without a nudge, but the hint system is pretty accommodating and the whole experience is just really cool. It is challenging, it is fun, and you will love it! Way to represent St. Louis!

We got a hostess that just gave us "the jist of it" and then shut us in. I was hoping for an experience we ended up with a lot of guessing that accidentally worked out for us. It also wasn't a strictly linear challenge room. Having to put things together from other challenges already completed made the room more challenging and rewarding. Loved this room. We went here with a large group on a Saturday and did the Western Bank Heist Room. We were matched with a small group, but the dynamic worked out well. The puzzle itself was fairly difficult and having a large group definitely helped us to be able to complete it in the time limit. As a side note, they don't serve alcohol at location, but if you want to grab a drink before or after there's several options on Wash Ave. We had a great time, the only complaint is the price is a little steep as its geared towards corporate events.

It's fun but some things were faulty. They give you clues if you seem to be stuck on something. It's the right amount of challenging. We did the bank heist. I would go back. A better waiting area with more functional seating would be nice. Then I'd give 5 stars. There are board games you can play while you wait to go in the escape room but again the seating isn't great.

Our office did a 10-person escape room, which was the first for almost all of us. The guy running the show was friendly, kept things light, and was extremely helpful and funny throughout the whole process. It's tough to plan outings that hit the mark for everyone in our particular group, but this was an instant hit. We were already planning our next visit before we finished celebrating our victory.

This was super cool. We took our 4 kids (14 and under) and were paired up with another group of 6 girls that were out for an 18th birthday, but we utilized everyone, with the exception of the 2 extremely nice but dysfunctional (like white girl drunk crawling on the ground looking for clues gals) members of our soon to be close group. This was extremely challenging, but an equal blast. We were only one clue away from solving whatever we were solving but we ended in a loud shreek when our hostess opened the door and informed us we ran out of time. Super cool room and theme, by far, the best escape room we've ever visited.

Creative and well designed but pretty worn. Several clues we got quickly but the mechanism wouldn’t work. The safe at the end we had the right combination for but the vault wouldn’t open. The employee said even the staff could almost never get it to work. Kinda disappointing ending. But overall good experience.

Went with a group of 8 and did the Agency room. We did have a lot of fun, it was hard, and we ran out of time. While there wasnt always something physical for each person to do, we all had to stare at the same riddle and use our minds to figure it out or no body would move forward in the game. The agency room looked nothing like what the pictures show, I'm sure the pictures are from one of their other locations around the country that have lots more $$$. But overall it was worth doing, had a good time.

The puzzles, atmosphere, and environment were top-notch. I would do this again and again. My BIG recommendation is to have staff that are very enthusiastic about their job/the puzzles. They don't have to do silly voices or play a character but just putting on a good face for the public to keep their enthusiasm high and help them immerse in the experience goes a long way. One of the employees I saw was not rude but she looked pretty bored/angry just being there working and it is distracting in a business meant for entertainment.

There are 3 or 4 different rooms you can try here. I definitely recommend "The Agent" room. Played clockwork, submarine and wild west and the dig themed rooms awhile ago and i gotta say out of the many i have done i really enjoyed how detailed they theme the rooms and how interesting the puzzles are. The sub room made it seem like you was piloting a sub Where the clockwork room has a very interesting "solar system" in it. Without giving away to much more than that. the wild west themed room was pretty sweet and had a great historic feel. Lastly the dig my first game at this location This room im not so sure is available anymore how ever. It had a really nice eerie feel when you got to a cave like room. The lights would dim in and out. Anyways if your in the st louis area i would definitely recommend visiting this escape room company.

Went here for a work outing and it was so much fun! You have to work together as a group. The clues can be very easy all the way to pretty tough if you don't know much history about the time of the room you're in. But if you have a big group, you're bound to make it through. You can ask for assistance and get clues, too, so you're not necessarily stuck. It was a blast and we made it through with minutes to spare!

The production of the rooms is by far the best of the 15+ rooms I've done. All of thr components were top notch and high quality. However, we didnt solve a single clue. The Gamemaster basically walked us through the room. The puzzles were not intuitive or logical, and we had trouble following the intended sequence. For a group of 4 very experienced players, it was an unfulfilling win.

Fun, but not the best room escape in town. In our escape, a critical puzzle had not been set up, causing the attendant to have to come in during the session. Several puzzles were easily defeated by guessing. None of the puzzles required actual cooperation among the participants. The attendant contributed more hints than were necessary, and many were misspelled. It's a big letdown if you have done another better crafted room escape... And better ones are not hard to find.

6 of us went for The Agency room on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019. They added 2 strangers to our group. We were given a brief and left in the room. The staff were friendly and not bored looking nor overbearing. The room was challenging. We didn't 'escape'. Props were fine and some showed use and wear as expected...all still usable. I took off a star for overcrowding. No matter how great the extra two people, there wasn't enough room to do stuff simultaneously. This led to wasted time waiting to access stuff (trying not to give spoilers). Since we didn't know the other people, we were not too close in personal space out of courtesy, and they were also. When I made the reservation, it only said 6 spaces or I would have asked more friends... although I still think 6 is effective and efficient for the space. The price was $28 except Friday and Saturday $30 (over $35 with tax) so I got a Groupon instead. I thought $22.50 was more reasonable and more in line with other similar places I looked at. We parked in the public pay lot under lights and used a credit card at the gate with no problem. The bathroom at Escape The Room was fine (not designated for men or women). The hot water, wasn't. We would go again if there is a discount (Groupon or whatever). And in a complete group vice adding strangers if the other rooms are similar sizes.

We did The Clock Tower, We did not make it out, we got stuck on the last puzzle. I do recommend taking a small group of friends. The room was totally immersive and when you get stuck they do provide helpful hints.

I have done almost all of the Escape Rooms in St Louis and I LOVE this escape room. All of the ones in STL are fun but I've been back to this one 3 times. This location is always clean, staffed by friendly gamemasters, and the rooms are top notch. My favorite is the Agency. I went with a group of maybe 8 people and we escaped but only barely. I thought the Agency was a good mix of really hard puzzles (ones that I didn't even touch) and other easier puzzles (like observational puzzles) that were good for me. Highly recommended!

I had a great experience here. I've been to other escape rooms, and this one was the most challenging one in my opinion. We did the submarine room but I'd love to go back and try the other room. I would highly recommend.

Overall this place was decent, it wasn't a bad experience by any means just kinda...meh, boring maybe. We did The Apartment, don't want to give anything away but there wasn't anything impressive about it. Rather boring room, nothing that made you to "woooooah" like some of the other rooms I've done. Seems kinda high priced for something that felt low budget. I've been to many escape rooms, normally about $25 but they had more intricate mechanisms and not just a bunch of combo locks.

First time I went for a friends bday party. It was lots of fun. I think we skipped clues so the guys behind the glass helped us in the most funny ways. Tons of fun but a group less than 10 lol is better. Too many people and you won't have much to find.

Went with a couple friends for a break one day. The story we did had multiple rooms and fun story. Escaped in 52 minutes as well. We did the puppet room (I can't remeber the exact name).
