Just bought our system in May 2022. Picture quality on the camers is great. Remote viewing through the phone app is working without any problems. By the time I am writing this review it is the end of July 2022. I had to call in a few times for some help setting up parameters on equipment from time to time and had excellent help from Trevor in tech support. He is very knowledgeable and is very patient with you as things are explained to you or as he set things up. In summary I would highly recommend this American based company both for sales of quality product and Tech support.

Our installer, David, showed up promptly and explained the installation process to us. He then went to work installing the cameras and NVR. Within a couple of hours he had completed the job, positioned the cameras to provide maximum coverage, and showed us how to use the NVR to review the surveillance footage. He was courteous and happily wore a mask at our request to protect our health. We would recommend his services to all.

Backstreet Surveillance not only has the safest and most secure security cameras and NVR systems I have seen so far but has one of the best technical support staff as well. There is very little wait to get support and lots of options to get support when you need it.
Their software product resolves the common false positive issues I have experienced with other brands and direct connect from anywhere outside of the LAN is a matter of scanning the QR code without having to share this information with anyone, even with Backstreet Surveillance.
This provides the much needed peace of mind to protect and monitor residential or company premises without any third party information sharing.

Called tech support yesterday for help in adding a wireless camera to our Pro Vue system. Michael is the tech who called us and addressed our problem. It was a simple matter for Michael to accomplish and he was a pleasure to work with. Everyone we have talked with at Backstreet has been extremely pleasant and helpful. I want to give kudos to Backstreet Surveillance for helping me through this difficult process. On October 13, I spoke to Clay Powers who helped me pick out the surveillance package that he thought would be best for my situation. There was a delay in the equipment arriving so I called and spoke to Javier who promised to follow up. He got back to me very quickly and I thought everything was a go at this point. Unfortunately, the electrician that has done all the wiring in my house told me he could not install it (he explained why but I'm not technical so he could have been speaking in a foreign language as far I was concerned). I contacted the Javier and he had a return mechandise authorization processed and send to me immediately. I had a little blip in the process, but not on Backstreet Surveillance side, but my own. All in all, I would personally recommend this company, their fantastic employees and customer service for an outstanding job. And I don't usually say anything unless it's a bad situation, but I'm very pleased to say that wasn't the case here.

I have been a customer of Backstreet Surveillance for several years. Because the products that they sell are of the highest quality it makes it difficult to make friends with the support team.
I recently had a system failure which necessitated me returning my NVR for a warranty repair. Ben Dickson went out of his way to take care of the problem, kept me informed of the actions being taken and promptly returned a brand new replacement unit. On the mundane office side of the operation Javier Lagos was equally helpful and resolved a paperwork hitch quickly and efficiently.
Not only do Backstreet Surveillance have some of the best products on the market but the best customer support I have ever experienced. Good products are only as good as the people that support them and that makes Backstreet Surveillance the go to place for both.

I would like to see Backstreet have more technical support technicians available to speed up getting thru to that team and to resolve my issues quicker. Outside of that, I think Backstreets Tech support team is very strong. Roy has been a huge help with getting the issues debugged with my system. I rate 3 stars because I had to make 2 appointments. I was called late for the 1st appointment and when the call became disconnected no one called back. No one called at the scheduled time for the second appointment so I called service and was then contacted. Roy reviewed my new system and made some adjustments. Roy seemed knowledgeable, but did assume I was a window’s user when referring to the software on my computer. A full review of the software would have been preferred, but Roy did explain the highlights well and answered questions.

I was having trouble getting my detached building camera's online using a POE switch as designed. I called support for help. Turns out I was connecting the POE switch wrong back to the NVR. I'm off and running again. I also had other small issues and Greg (shipping Manager) went above and beyond to resolve my issue and make sure I was happy. My experience with this system and the support I have received to date has been top notch.

Urgent Udate! Max contacted me and worked out a plan to upgrade my old system at substantial savings. Once I receive it and get it installed, the plan is that it will be better than my system I had before. Max also agreed to provide a direct extension to his number for assistance. I will log back in and update further once I have the new system installed. According to Max, this newer system is top quality with better options. Read my other reviews of companies, over 400 reviews with combined views by over 2.6 million people. I will also provide photos of the product upon receival of the system, during installation, and after installation while providing a detailed progressive accurate review. Max, thank you. Began installing the new camera system today. Progressing well. Will need some technical assistance from Max a little later.

After purchasing the camera system and installing it myself, I found I had some questions in regards to the setup. The customer service is INCREDIBLE! I have zero regrets on my purchase, and highly recommend this company. I called tech support twice, they got back to me very quickly, and both times had a second tech try to call through during my conversation with the technician I was currently speaking to. They are VERY knowledgeable, and walked me through the problems without a single hiccup. Vince was awesome, patient, and thorough. Great customer service and products. They do have a Youtube channel to help train you how to use your products. I do wished that they made it clear that the difference between Coax and HMDI is that the HMDI systems., the HDMI allows you to stream all your cameras on your phone. I got the coax system and now I will have to just deal with the system even though I wanted to have access to my cameras from anywhere.

DIY people will love this company and the experience. Sales will guide you through your needs/design, and tech is available immediately, or within an hour or two, of when you call. The instructional videos by the owner, Mac, are very informative and easy to follow. Plus, pricing is competitive and fair, especially considering the lifetime guidance and support received with my purchase. I bought a 20-camera system for my business, and will soon purchase a smaller system for my home. Backstreet also uses as many components as possible manufactured here in the U.S., and does assembly/repairs at their Utah-based plant.

We had the pleasure of working with Backstreet Surveillance from the standpoint of a vendor who has had 10 + years experience of working remotely with companies who hire us to service their local clients. Hands down this was one of the best experiences we had because their internal infrastructure functioned flawlessly. When we arrived onsite every piece of equipment was there as promised but we were surprised by the quality of the 4K cameras sent because we usually see the low end cameras shipped to cut cost. More importantly was the efficiency of tech support who logged into our machine to provision the cameras which allowed us to wrap up the project ahead of schedule, bravo!

My system has been online for only a day, but so far my experience with Backstreet Surveillance has been amazing.
I've been looking for a quality outdoor camera system for my home for some time, and after much research I decided to work with Backstreet. In addition to quality equipment they offered installation, which was a must for me as I'm the least handy man in America and wanted it done right.
After choosing an NVR and three cameras I thought might work for my needs I communicated with Anthony, who looked a diagram of what I wanted, made some great suggestions, and prepared an estimate that included all the equipment and peripherals I would need. Ordering was easy, and my equipment arrived within days.
I had many contacts with Anthony and he always friendly and a real pro, responding quickly and answering all my questions. Due to snow, rain and other factors It took a few weeks to get my system installed, but it was worth the wait. Justin, the installer, was friendly and knowledgeable and clearly cared about doing a neat and quality job.
The installation looks clean and neat and the cameras and NVR are working great. The final result is even better than I had hoped for, with clear, sharp images and great views, even from a distance and at night.
The package included a flash drive that has clear and extremely helpful video instructions for just about anything you might want to to do with your system. The Backstreet website also has great instructional information.
Overall, my decision to go with Backstreet was a great one and I will not hesitate to go back to them if I ever need to expand or switch out any equipment. Thanks so much for great service and a good buying experience!

I I recently purchase an 8 camera 4k system and it is unbelievable. The quality of the equipment is excellent, but what is most important is the customer service I have gotten. In this day and age, it seems harder and harder to get good customer service. Backstreet surveillance Customer service agent (Ashley) helped me on two issues that I need to take care, and she was fast and efficient. She returned my calls and email immediately. The reason I chose Backstreet was because of their incredible customer service and backing of their products. I also received great help from Trevor in helping me set up some of my functions for the camaras online. If you are looking for a strong company that backs their product don’t look anywhere else.

Called for assistance to reinstall cameras to NVR System. I replaced the router and lost camera functions. I called Backstreet and the technician called back and assisted with reinstall of camera IP issues.he was very professional and courteous explained and corrected situation. I was prepared to purchase from another company when I reviewed Backstreet's website and was impressed with their informative website and knowledge of the industry.
I ordered the WiFi kit and received it in due time but unfortunately didn't receive any instruction manuals or information that was guaranteed with purchase. I also had one of the 4 cameras that was non-operational and technical service were excellent with there diagnosis and they replaced the camera, but replaced with the wrong camera. They finally did replace with the correct version of camera but after contacting them twice via their contact page for instruction manuals I am still waiting after 4 weeks for a return contact????
I am happy with the product but would be happier if I would receive a follow up from the company in regards to my inquiry and also receive the guaranteed instruction and startup manuals that are included in the purchase!

After watching a number of videos regarding video surveillance cameras, I choose Backstreet Surveillance. Upon entering its website I was directed to Will Britton for assistance. He talked to me about my needs and understood what I needed. He and I worked together for about a week and we came to develop what appears to be a great Surviellance system. I placed my order yesterday and looking forward to having my system put together and sent out to me over the coming days.
Will Britton has been nothing but great in assessing my needs and putting together a system that works for me.

Outstanding service! You can believe their "lifetime service" policy. We've had our 12 cameras and NVR that we purchased from Backstreet for over a year now. They have served us well, but, some unexplainable reason, two of the cameras lost their network connection to the NVR recently. I contacted Backstreet for help and they had me on their schedule for repairs the following day. It's amazing how they can remote in to my system and expertly discover the problem and make the adjustments. I couldn't ask for better service! Our camera system is 100% again! Shout out to Vince for his technical knowledge and patience! Awesome!

I purchased the ProVue 4 Channel NVR with Pro90D-4K cameras. The installation was simple, the quality of the images is great. I had a few hiccups with understanding the setup and connecting remotely. Backstreet technical support reps were very helpful. I was able to set up the system quickly with a good understanding of the remote connection. I am pleased with the system.

Backstreet worked with me to determine what equipment I needed. they provided a lot of information on the cameras and recorder and how they work. After I decided what equipment I wanted, they put my package together and shipped all the parts to me in a timely manner. After receiving the equipment, I opted to have installed by a commercial installer.backstreet scheduled an installer from the bay area to install the system. The system was installed in one day but the installers did damage to my walls. When I contacted the install manager at Backstreet and described the damage, and sent pictures to him, he Immediately responded and had me get a repair estimate. The estimate was approved and Backstreet credited my account for the cost of repair. Backstreet is, in my opinion, a very reliable and reputable company. I would definitely recommend their company.

I have been with Backstreet surveillance for about 5 years. Their customer service is outstanding.Recently I had a problem with downloading video of a past event. I contacted Backstreet. I cannot say enough about the technician, Vince that I was working with. Vince took his time diagnosing my video download problem. I'd say we were on the phone for an hour or so. Vince tried time and again different solutions. Finally he hit on the right procedure to make things right. Vince has the patience of a saint. His knowledge and understanding was first class. I was referred by my brother who just had cameras installed by Backstreet Surveillance. I was impressed with the quality of both the cameras, and how aesthetically pleasing it looked both inside and outside. Very sleek and discreet. I ended up getting 6 cameras with 4 terabyte NVR. They were great to work with. The installation went very well and they made sure I was happy with the position and quality of the cameras. Gave me a tutorial for how to work it, and left.
I did have a problem with one camera not working the next day, which they came out and immediately fixed. Then again the next day, 3 more cameras weren't working. Again they immediately came back and fixed them. Not sure why they were going out, but their response has impressed me. I think any company will do a good job installing products, it's the customer service afterwards that speaks to how a company is. Backstreet Surveillance is top notch in the customer experience, not just the product. I would highly recommend.

I ordered an exterior home surveillance system from Backstreet Surveillance that I self installed. I called for advice on a particular camera option and was given great information that helped me decide which camera would work best in a certain situation. They worked with me on a few items that were not available (backordered) and Kent, from shipping kept me up to date on the delivery of those items and resolved everything to my satisfaction. Overall a great experience. All of the components worked as they should and now after everything is installed - I am looking forward to setting up the motion zones and fine tuning the NVR.

I have an open Attica so installation was easy. I ran into an issue adding yet another camera and needed to reach support. This IS the system you should buy - and I will be adding additional cameras (I purchased four cameras at first but went with the 8-camera recorder for growth). Five star!

Purchased an 8-channel system with 8 dome cameras in 2015, everything still working locally, but had issues with the old mobile app. probably my doings more than the app. Anyway, wanted to add a few more cameras and a larger 10T hard-drive, and really wanted the Provue capability. End of the story I had problems getting the older cameras to connect up to new NVR. Called Alan with tech support and had me up and running in no time. He also stayed on the phone with me to get Provue on my phone and connected. Once again love this company. Can't go wrong.

At first, Im going to be honest. There was a problem with one of my cameras and had to contact customer support until ultimately I replaced the 4k unit with a standard 3k unit. Since then, the cameras have been working flawlessly. Again, not going to sugar coat it. The app does has its issues for remote access of the cameras. But 90% they do work and allow remote viewing. Also, once every great blue moon the NVR locks up and a hard reset is required. Other than that, i am really digging the system and am happy with my purchase.

Tech support is very good and knowledgeable about programing these devices and systems. I got a 12 camera system with 4 PTZ cameras that required extensive programing and downloading of programs because I have a Mac computer. I spent 2 weeks in my busy schedule and spent hours on the phone with a very difficult programing situation because of my slow internet connection and computer. I worked with almost all of the techs but one stood out like no other. Ben and Rick were really good at helping me but George had it all to make you comfortable while going through this marathon of a process. George was highly knowledgeable, patient, kind, personable and his customer service was through the roof with professionalism and service. I cant say enough about this young man! We HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for quality surveillance equipment.

The DIY security camera system works well. It is an improvement on our previous QSEE system.
Positives:
1. Settings and adding cameras is much better. Camera drop out hasn't happened like it did with QSEE.
2. Support does speak English very well and I can understand them. Support calls go much faster than before.
3. They sell an alarm/siren plug in so you don't have to search for a compatible device which turns the cameras into a deterance.
4. Include a POE range extender so you can get over 300' on Cat6.
Cons:
1. First level tech support is limited and requires getting a call back from 2nd tear.
2. They have two systems they sell, so a little confusing. Elite allows you to use any desktop browser to connect to the NVR. The Pro version only allows you to use IE on Windows. Not sure if Safari on Mac works or not. This is a security issue as IE is limited with no SSL connectivity options. You can always set up a VPN for it though.
So far, so good.

I’ve purchased pretty much all the systems on the web.You have to check reviews and even then sometimes you get burned.Most of them absolutely suck and don’t work properly.Theres alway room for improvement but what I’ve found from BackStreet Is one particular camera that I like works flawlessly.The Pro120 4K.They have a lot to choose from but that priced best for me. They have a very knowledgeable staff and there Tech Department Is the best of all the company’s I’ve been with.With COVID 19 it has put a damper on all businesses so If you do have problems there might be a slight delay but they always come through to fix the problem.I’ve not found a better company than this one out of 7 others that I can not name but there no good.I give BackStreet Five Honest Stars but If I could rate them higher I would.Remember Patents is a Key Factor especially for me.Be sure to look at BackStreet Videos ! That will say a lot for there Quality .

The equipment is good but the tech support is excellent. We purchased these cameras several years ago and still call with technical questions. They may need to hire another tech or two as it took 4-5 hours to finally reach a tech today, but that is not a typical experience. We had ongoing issues with maintaining access to the camera remotely until one of the techs said it was due to having a dynamic ip address. We have now switched to a static address and hopefully the issue is resolved. I only wish I had been told that sooner. Overall, this is a very good company to deal with.

I have had many camera systems that are wireless and the 4 wireless cameras I bought from Backstreet are by far superior to anything I have had. They have continued to work even after bad storms. I really like the picture quality. They do not provide very good how to instructions. Technical support was helpful, and I could not have set up the cameras without them. Thank you! There is a tendency for them to get inpatient with you if you don't grasp the technical concepts. The BitVision app on my iphone does not seem to work right. They had me down load another app for the iphone and it did not work. They were going to check and email me back, but never did. All in all would definitely buy from them again.

My only complaint is their DVR and user-interface system is not very user friendly and could use some updating. If they had a better program to run and view the cameras, both inside the DVR and externally, my review would be five stars. The external program doesn't work well at all. I tried to view a clip of someone robbing my sister's car when I was away from the house and it wouldn't let me access the data. If you are not tech-savvy, this may not be the system for you.

April of this year I purchased the UKIT-180-4k system from Backstreet. I requested their help in setting up the system. I contacted TEC support and within 30 minutes or so every thing was up and running. They were very patient with me and that was appreciated. The system worked so well that I wanted to add camera’s to the system.
Because I was replacing an old analog system I needed a specific style of camera to fit into the incloseures of the old Camera’s. They tried for a couple of weeks to find the appropriate style of cam I needed but they could not get it. I ended up finding one but they did not deal with that particular brand. Not being able to set up the cam my self I requested their help. I offered to pay them for their time to help me set up the second cam. They said that they would be happy to do it for nothing. WOW! I was Impressed. You don’t run into people or business’s now a day’s that will do anything for nothing but Backstreet did. They spent at least 45 minutes (of their time) setting up the second cam.
Well in my book they are GREAT people to deal with. They advertise customer satisfaction and they mean it. I can not speak highly enough about Backstreet.

I really enjoyed my phone call with Mac to help get ideas on what to go with for the system. Steven was also helpful with getting me past some glitches. The 4k cameras are really nice in the daytime and the NVR software was not too tricky to learn to navigate you just need to spend some time working with the NVR.

Purchased 16 camera IP system. Equipment came right up for the standard wired camera configuration. Had one camera fail with an early life failure after about ten hours of operation and just reported it and am awaiting a replacement. NVR is easy to work with and wired PoE cameras are easy to work with.
Needed technical assistance in configuring two WiFi AP/Routers and five WiFi cameras for operation on the network (Suggestion: Please create detailed topology examples and detailed instructions for WiFi camera configurations, and include links to obtain a copy of the ConfigTool software which the support tech provided via remote access while assisting me - ConfigTool was instrumental in finding the IP addresses for the WiFi cameras that I had to reset to factory default configuration in order to set up properly). Thank you to John in tech support to help me get the WiFi network and cameras going.

I ordered a ProVue 16 Channel NVR and 8 U90MZ cameras to replace an older system. All arrived on schedule, were well packed, and had excellent instructions. Their support folks were extremely helpful. Testing and setting up the IP addresses for the camera is relatively easy but it can also be done by their support folks online if you need help. The free ProVue app for your phone is awesome. When you tap the + sign it opens up your camera to scan the QR code located under "System Info" of your NVR or you can scan the QR code physically on the NVR. After that you can view all your cameras at home or away from home.

Own a 10-camera 2TB home security system purchased from Backstreet Surveillance in early 2019. System is connected by Ethernet cable to Internet modem and we use IDMSS App for iPhones to remotely monitor system. Switched ISP providers in Feb 2020 and as result lost remote camera access on IDMSS. I tried and tried to reconnect IDMSS but to no avail. Contacted Backstreet on 3/8/21 and spoke to A.J. (Allen) in Tech Support. AJ was patient, skilled and professional as he remotely connected to my system. He was able to diagnose the problem (ISP address changed when provider changed) and resolve quickly. If this is your first security camera system I advise you to familiarize yourself with abbreviations and common terminology dealing with camera lenses, frames per second, file types, and so forth.

The technical support from G. Quinn was phenomenal. My NVR was having issues with the hard drive. I was instructed to send the NVR to tech support. Mr. Quinn investigated the problem by analyzing my NVR at his office. It turned out it was not the hard drive and the motherboard was defective. I received a new Elite NVR which was a nice upgrade within the Backstreet Surveillance 5 year warranty. Mr. Quinn assisted me in connecting the new Elite NVR to my 8 camera system. A week later there were camera configuration issues and Mr. Quinn re-programmed all 8 cameras to assure solid network connections. Everything is running great now after his tech support session. Mr. Quinn demonstrated his technical expertise and professionalism. I highly recommend Backstreet Surveillance for their products and professional technical support.

I have had issues with FreeIP. I called Backstreet and talked to George. He patiently guided me through my cell phone, DVR, monitor, computer setting to finally solve the problems. First, the channel images were not turn on in my cell phone; second, the date setting in my DVR recording was wrong, it was 2018! He is very professional and honest. He consulted his supervisor for advice when he was not sure. He is observative enough to find the issue of wrong date setting. He is technically equipped with an ability to remote my computer.... My satisfaction is beyond words.

So I received a few packages from UPS and my girlfriend is freaking out asking me what else I've ordered because I already have a few boxes in my living room. We bring the boxes in. There are 5 good size boxes so I'm starting to question myself as what I ordered. I looked at the name and realized it wasn't mine and the boxes belonged to someone else. By doing the right thing, I contact the name on the box of who they belong to. He gave me the address and I dropped them off. One of the guys that works there asked if I was interested in a home security system, and I said possibly if the price is right. Max Morales helped me solve the email set up problem in the chat room and then on the phone using the team viewer. Max figured out that google's two step verification prevents email/motion notifications from being set up in the NVR. I recommend that Max update the 2 video on your "posts" to reflect the current NVR systems (your video screens seem for older machines) and to address ow to solve this problem for your customers.
