Reviews of Abravanel Hall
This is an architectural, acoustic, and cultural treasure of Utah. The building is stunning inside. The grand sweeping staircases covered in gold leaf angle their way up to the upper tiers and are only matched in their majestic presence by the 40 foot blown glass statue in the lobby. The acoustic design of the grand hall is near perfection. The sound is warm and encompassing no matter where you are seated. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. Come here to step out of the mundane and into a magical world of music.
This place is so amazing, I love working here on some of the shows. The artistry here is among the best Utah has to offer in the building is just gorgeous. Great acoustics and good size stage for the orchestra and whoever extra they accompany.
Amazing concert hall and we love Utah Symphony Orchestra. Thanks to vaccination mandate they apply. At least we can watch and listen shows care free.
Rented this hall out for a Voice Male concert this year. Staff was incredibly professional and the concert went off without a hitch. Parking for the entertainers could have been a bit better, but parking in general in SLC is difficult at best
I love going to the symphony. We've been to several shows and all the Harry Potter movies and we love it. My only complaint is they don't enforce any kind of dress code. I still get fancied up but a lot of people come very casual. Other than that it's great, the building is lovely, the hall is immense and the chandeliers are dazzling 💜
We had a great time. The Utah Symphony is extremely talented. We attended a showing of Jurassic World where you watch the film while the Symphony plays all the music live. I would highly recommend it. I hope they'll do an older James Bond one day, that would be super cool.
Beautiful sound quality but it's time to update the seats! Plan to get cozy with your neighbor! The seating on the floor is tight!
This place is beautiful. I have always loved going here and seeing people perform. I got to perform here once in my teenage years and it was spectacular. It has amazing acoustics.
The one thing I really don't like are the stairs. They are sideways and hard to walk up. There are also so many stairs. It's great to sit on the top balcony, but it sucks to get up there.
Very fun night withe symphony's Latin Fire night! If you want to see the fun side of the symphony, don't miss it next year!
Creme Brulee transports your taste buds in like manner as the symphony does for your sense of hearing, and that madusa fire statue does for your vision, at Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City, proper. Time travelers beware. Your attendance at The Messiah concert will surface doubts in the efficacy of your technological breakthrough..."is this truly a different time" you will question. "Don't be a smart @#$." "Just be quiet so you don't ruin the performance for everyone else..." whispers your Dad (while squeezing your forearm uncomfortably tight), as do the thoughts of everyone else within earshot of your nonsensical jabbering.
Great venue for musical events. The only downside is no onsite parking, so plan to walk a bit from one of the nearby lots unless you take TRAX.
As a musician, I adore this place. As a bystander, I adore this place. No matter what the reasoning for being there, it never gets old. The acoustics in the hall are stunning, the architecture is lovely, and every room (that I've been in) is beautiful and pleasant, including the hall, of course. Also, it goes without saying, because many have said it, but the sculpture is magnificent.
Beautiful venue and wonderful acoustics! However they need more bathrooms that are bigger and cleaner. There were 100 of us waiting for a TEENY 3 stall bathroom. It took 30 min and I missed part of the concert
Went to see Bernadette Peters and absolutely loved her show! Then came back to see Celtic Woman for their Christmas concert! This may have to be a new yearly thing for me! The venue is amazing and so far the 2 concerts I have seen were perfect!
Beautiful concert venue, and a very talented orchestra that performs there.
Kids as young as 5 are allowed in. If they get rowdy, they have comfy benches and screens in the lobby so you can still hear the concert in the hall.
The concert and performance hall is incredible! The sound resonates very well. My only gripe is handicapped accessibility. There are VERY few parking stalls for those who have disabilities and the seats are very limited. I get it's SLC but that shouldn't absolve them of the responsibility in my opinion. We weren't able to buy one because they sold out so fast.
A beautiful venue with great acoustics! I wasn't sure I liked how the slanted and smooth the floor was under the seats, especially with the potential to be wet and slippery from the snow. I loved the concert, though!
Always a delightful experience. Refreshments are a bit expensive but every seat in the house is a good seat.
Beautiful auditorium! The acoustics are very impressive no matter where you sit which makes for an enjoyable experience all around. The staff here are super friendly too.
It's hard to find a bad seat. We bought tickets for Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 1. It was our first time to the Utah symphony and we were not disappointed.
Also, props to them for having an app that makes looking up events and tickets a breeze.
Such a great concert hall. I love both watching concerts and performing here. The lights and design are amazing. Super bright and warm environment with great acoustics.
Beautiful venue. We got in the door and to our seats quickly and easily. Symphony was excellent.
I love watching the Millennial Choirs Christmas concert each year at the Abravanel Hall. The acoustics are excellent, and seating comfortable.
I love attending events at Abravanel Hall. It's a gorgeous venue with amazing acoustics, a fantastic lobby with the Olympic Tower glass sculpture, and amazing architecture. Truly a jewel of SLC!
Delightful concert venue! Excellent acoustics and a design that has aged very well. Staff were friendly and helpful and the lobby nicely frames Temple Square.
The architecture of this place is amazing!! A big staircase with walkways branching off with gold leaf on the walls and a really aesthetically interesting red sculpture in the main room. :) Once you get into the theater room, there are gorgeous chandeliers with diamonds hanging off it that catch the light and create all these rainbows. It's so fun sitting on the side of the room! There's a great view and it's cool to have the chairs angled so you are still sitting "forward" while watching, plus the crazy side of me loves feeling like royalty because it reminds me of back in the old days, when the royalty would sit in the chairs on the sides. :) Me and my cousin saw Celtic Woman with the Utah Symphony and it was one of the best things I've experienced in life, at least so far. They have some of the best natural voices I've ever heard and it was an honor to hear them sing in real life. It was Christmas-themed too, so that was extra fun!
I had a wonderful experience at the MCO concert at Abravanel Hall on December 12th. Fantastic music, wonderful environment, and an overall inspiring event.
Wonderful acoustics and comfortable seats for a concert.
This concert hall is phenomenal. Its beautifully designed and crafted with lots of gorgeous details. If you have a chance to see the Utah Symphony here, take it! Or there's lot of both free and ticketed events here from other organizations in the Valley. I've performed here with the West Valley Symphony as well as the Draper Philharmonic and Choral Society.
What an incredible symphony hall and world-class symphony. I’ve heard many symphonies around the United States, but the talent and support I found in Salt Lake City was so far the most amazing experience of classical music I’ve ever had.
What a spectacular night of amazing music by such talented individuals. I wish there was a better way to thank them for all their years and countless hours of practice and effort. Thank you!!!
Beautiful venue. Looking forward to visiting again
Great orchestra, they did a fantastic job on playing the score from nightmare before Christmas.
This is a beautiful concert hall. My husband and I attended the John Williams Symphony. WONDERFUL!!! They even had people dressed as characters from his most famous movies to greet you and take photo opportunities. Parking is a challenge if there is another event going on but there are plenty of parking garages available and city parking, be sure to download the parkslc app. I HIGHLY recommend attending any performances here. The staff are very friendly and eager to make your experience a delight.
I always love attending events in Abravenel Hall! There's joy there. The performances are excellent and the surroundings are beautiful.
I love the culture the talented Utah Symphony adds to our city. The volunteers & staff always make our visits special. Can't wait to go again.
I played in the High school all state band and choir here. What a beautiful hall, amazing architecture, great acoustics.
Beautiful! The acoustics were great. The interior was richly decorated. The chairs were comfortable and not too close together. The person at the ticket office was genuinely happy to be at work, and the usher was friendly. All in all, we had an exquisite experience.
This place is awesome! Great place for a date night, especially for Harry Potter concert series. It is best to buy tickets ahead of time. Many shows are sold out! The chandeliers are amazing. Definitely a 5 star experience! They do allow bottled water in the hall. They also have concessions.
The venue is beautiful. There is a breathtaking sculpture in the lobby. Even with being built in the late 70s, it's quite uniquely cool. The acoustics are great and I loved the chandeliers in the concert hall.
Beauty. Talent. Class. Salt Lake offers phenomenal musical talent from across the world. The differing availability of music is wonderful. From classic Hollywood movies with live orchestral accompaniments to Opera to Spanish guitar and more. Lots to see and hear here. (With surprisingly amazing leg room too)!
Some events have family passes which I like so I can share my love for music onto my children They feel how special this place is and appreciate the talent here.
I always park in City Creek. Saturday nights seem affordable.
A wonderful venue to enjoy fine performing arts. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake, there is actually pretty inexpensive and convenient parking nearby. Beautiful venue.
Beautiful hall with great acoustics, and a very satisfying and diverse offering in programming. Most seats are very good. Their ticketing people are lovely to work with. The featured Chihuly glass sculpture is stunning, but needs a bit of careful dusting. Perhaps it's not possible...
Some places feel old when they don't update... I appreciate that Abravanel hasn't "updated". Love the classic feel and the acoustics are still amazing.
Amazing acoustics. Great shows!
Truly fantastic venue, amazing acoustics, and stellar staff. And, of course, the music that plays here is out of this world.
Had a wonderful time with my husband. Wheelchair accessible, going down easy, going up I can skip leg day for a week!!
I love going to abravenel hall to listen to orchestras play!! It is such a pretty place with beautiful sound!
It gets at least a couple stars just for having a Dale Chihuly glass sculpture in the lobby. It's modern, but classic. The facility is aging well. I've been here a half dozen times over the last 20 years in a variety of seats. I've always felt they were fair seats for the price. This event was great and I was on the third row. No complaints.
I've been to a couple VIP events, and the side rooms to meet the cast are nice, and the catering is good. I like that they have a wide mixture of artists perform here.
The symphony is always uplifting and Abravanel Hall is such a beautiful venue.
My sister and I attended the Utah Symphony concert with Hillary Hahn as the soloist and the concert was incredible! In addition to the music, my experience with the staff and the facilities was also positive. Tje bathroom was clean, stocked in the essentials and had plenty of stalls to keep the ever-present woman's room line moving quickly!
I've been here for many concerts and ceremonies, and I'm equally impressed every time. It's wonderful to have such a pillar of culture dead-center the city. The symphony is fantastic, and always worth every penny.
Beautiful place to listen to music, quick check-in, easy to find your seat, you can ask for help in every tier. The Christmas concert was very good and short, an hour of joy is short. We found seats to the third tier and was very good to see all-around from there; you can see and listen perfectly, surprised that was not full, we tried to buy tickets on the first floor but online said were sold out. Once there third of the seats were empty everywhere.
Amazing performance along with a fun movie.
Always a good evening at Abravanel Hall.
Stunning, great acoustics, clean, good atmosphere
It was such a great experience. It's a very beautiful airy and well set up concert hall. The symphony was wonderful
Good acoustics and cool lighting options. Coat check is $1, totally worth it, as there isn't much room per seat. There are plenty of doors going in and out of the theater, so getting in and leaving are pretty simple. Small snacks and drinks available, but only bottled water is the only drink allowed in the theater. I would recommend dressing nicer, as this is a classy place with classy events. So many people wearing ripped jeans, trucker hats, and baggy tshirts... come on people, we can do better!
Abravanel Hall is gorgeous! Architecturally beautiful and located downtown, it's a treat to visit and enjoy music there. The acoustics are wonderful. The staff and volunteers round out the experience, being professional, attentive, and informed.
The music was great, and this was a very enjoyable venue. It was easy to find the seats, and getting out afterwards went fairly smooth too, although it did get very congested behind my group.
Great place good music. Saw the Celtic women perform they were fabulous. The Utah Symphony wasn't to bad either.
Abravenel Hall is one of my most favorite places in salt lake city. I've been many times. The acoustics are in credible and the building is extremely beautiful. I plan to go more frequently in the future too, because the Utah Symphony is amazing.
This concert was with Audra McDonald, who sings on Broadway. She also brought her traveling band. Her stories were entertaining and her voice was impeccable. Every time I go to the symphony, it feels like very personalized.
Not a bad hall but dated in style could really use a good remodel.
Parking is an issue, but that’s SLC for you. The venue is gorgeous and all the performances here have been stunning.
Such a beautiful theatre. Seating is a bother for the people in the middle seats because they have to cut through a lot of people to get in or out. Glad I got the isle seat. I hope to return soon!
Wonderful experiences, enriching our lives!! Can get same day tickets, often! I l💗ve being there! The symphony performs there! !Can get season tickets! A great place to bring our children, teaching them with different genres! Prepare them, that it is a quiet place. The library, can help that! T H A N K Y O U ! ! ☺️ …
Fantastic hall. Been to many a performance here. Not too big not too small, good elevation in orchestra make all seats good. Great location in downtown Salt Lake City across the street from Temple Square and also City Creek Mall.
Fantastically beautiful and has excellent seating for both listening and viewing. The Utah Symphony (which is one of the most common performers here) is phenomenal and the other performers don't disappoint. There are a number of annually reoccurring events which are also extremely entertaining, notably the Messiah Sing-in.
I love this house, it is one of my all time favorites anywhere because it is just so beautiful and now I know where the acoustic best seat in the house is! As determined by a field expert during an experiment to quantify the acoustics in the audience space. He then bought his season tickets in that location...I'd trust that guy for sure! It all sounds incredible in there!
Beautiful building. I don’t believe that there is a bad seat to be had! The concessions were pricey- but so don’t mind if it’s supporting the arts.🥰 …
Wonderful venue. The acoustics design is terrific, and the seats are acceptable. It looks like there isn't a bad seat in the house.
Most importantly, the Utah Symphony itself, is excellent. I have yet to attend a performance where they didn't impress. Kudos to all their conductors and musicians!
Jurassic World performed live was amazing!
I’ll probably haul is a place to go with my uncle to the symphonies and operas
It is a beautiful facility
Performed here with my choir and it was such an amazing experience. You could feel past performers beside you performing along side you. It was so amazing.
Really beautiful music hall. Didn't have any complaints.
There is not a bad seat in the entire hall. The acoustics are so perfect that you can hear the quietest note from every instrument. And the Utah Symphony is one of the greatest!
Probably won't do it again. We recently attended the Harry Potter performance. I was expecting the symphony to play selections from the film. Instead, we watched the whole film, with the symphony supplementing the music. This wasn't about the music at all, but rather a vast group of harry potter fans paying $50+ to watch a film in a room with chandeliers. No soloists were recognized for their beautiful music. As the credits were rolling, the crowd cheered for their favorite actors, but no one cheered for Nicholas Hooper, the film composer...the man whose music we were enjoying. Attending the symphony should be about the love of music, not a fancy theater to watch reruns. In the future, it would be better to have the film silent with subtitles, or to simply only show scenes from the film that correlate with the music being played.
As for the Abravanel Hall, It's a nice enough venue for attending the symphony and other performances. The gold plated stairways and landings make for an elegant setting. The Chihuly glass sculpture is stunning. The stairs leading up to any of the levels are slanted which leads to a very obnoxious climb. Overall a nice facility, though the overall architecture of the building leans more toward the Bauhaus movement rather than modernist and leaves the visitor feeling a bit underwhelmed when compared to the Cincinnati Music Hall, Boston's Jordan Hall, New York's Met, or even the SLC Tabernacle.
Great show, but the building is really a mess to navigate and get to seats etc, especially with COVID considerations. Parking is sorta hard to find, and for some reason they don't just send you the tickets in email, you have to download their app, setup and account and link it to see the tickets. That said, really fantastic staff!
Great concert! Especially liked the first piece.
This venue is first class. I've never had a bad experience.
Went to Prokofiev 2nd piano concerto today. Fantastic! Also, Shostakovich 1st Symphony. Loved it!
Dvorak's New World Symphony was totally awesome, as always! Abravanel Hall was full. I was impressed that so many young people were in attendance! We love the Utah Symphony & Thierry Fischer!!
Beautiful venue. Very nice evening watching Singin' In The Rain film concert with the symphony! I would highly recommend going to one sometime!
We love coming to the Utah Symphony movie concert series. They do an incredible job. Highly recommended.
Friendly staff who are well organized and helpful + great acoustics in the hall make it a great night!
Great atmosphere with fantastic performances. There's not a lot like sitting in the comfy chairs and feeling the floor shake under your feet with the fantastic acoustics. A truly beautiful and entertaining venue to attend.
Nice venue. We saw Dave Ramsey speak. It was a heavy crowd, but it was easy to navigate. The glass sculpture in the lobby was fantastic.
Such great sound for a symphony concert. It’s a beautiful hall with comfortable seats.
Beautiful place. Kind staff. I still don't understand the parking (parking at the Salt Palace) and getting to the hall in a reasonable way. Other than that it is a highlight of Salt Lake and has been since I was a child.
I love the symphony and the music here is always fantastic. The building has plenty of seating and the acoustics are phenomenal. The cost of tickets vary depending on location. You can find tickets at times for as little as $18 a ticket. The staff is friendly and willing to help. There is a good amount of paid parking surrounding the building and plenty of places to eat.
The building is beautiful! And its beneficial to have as many seats as it does, it helps more people to enjoy the concerts. The glass blown sculpture in the lobby is absolutely breathtaking, especially when the light hits it just right. Though the performer lineup is not well organized. They had all 300 of us waiting outside in the cold February weather for over an hour. Nonetheless, it's a gorgeous place for concerts.
This place is so spacious inside and well kept!
The restrooms are very large and keep the very long lines going super fast so you don’t waste any time. One of the most amazing things about it is the glass sculpture right as you walk in.
I took a load of Junior high kids as a bus driver. They seemed to have a very good time. The symphony gave them a $20 rate for the children which I thought was very fair. Parents and chaperones and teachers had to pay $50.
This hall was amazing. I came from Ohio for my graduation. This place was really amazing.
Beautiful, love the Millennial choir And orchestra.
Always have an enjoyable time! Thank you to the sponsors for making this happen.
Absolutely incredible experience with the Harry Potter movie with live music. I loved the whole experience, and really you just can't go wrong with attending any of the Utah Symphony's productions.
Casting Crowns concert was AMAZING! The acoustics there were perfect!
Came here on a 5th grade field trip. Absolutely love listening to the symphony! Haven't been in years. Can't wait to go back for a concert.
Great hall, friendly staff, loved the show!
The Cirque de la Symphonie was amazing! Excellent performances by all the artists! I love going to Abravanel, it is such a beautiful venue.
I had an amazing experience. I seen Women Rock, with the symphony. Would never have thought the symphony could rock like that.
Fabulous! Such a cool experience hearing the Utah Symphony live!
World class facility! The acoustics are excellent.
Had Such An AWESOME time at Abravanel Hall attending the Utah Symphony Orchestra...the music was FABULOUS.. So Many NICE people were willing to help us and The Staff at Abravanel Hall was EXCELLENT... The Adventure tonight Rated as a 10+😊😁☺️ …
This is a beautiful venue for performances. I’ve been here multiple times and always had a great time. The seats are very close together and numbered in an odd way and a little uncomfortable. Other than that only great things!
Look at these seats! Look at those performers! It was awesome. Everyone should come to the symphony at least once in their life.
Beautiful building. Thoroughly enjoyed the Utah Symphony
Wasn't aware that food/drinks weren't allowed in the theater. And the spotlight doesn't move - it just stays in the middle of the stage. But staff is friendly. Everything is clean. Good experience.
Beautiful, absolutely stunning performance by the symphony and great facilities
The Utah symphony is spectacular. There is nothing quite like a live performance. Superb!
It's always a treat to see the symphony. Can't wait for our next visit!
Beautiful venue, professional staff. Great experience. Saw the Utah symphony and they did such an incredible job.
Always a great space to see and hear a performance.
Don't miss the cinema with the symphony experiences. They are so fun!
The music is incredible, the whole place is beautiful, I enjoy myself every time I go there, except for those damned, uncomfortable, tiny seeds that feel like a movie theater from the 1940s
I am in a band (Pink Martini) that just played two nights Abravanel Hall with the Symphony, and just like the several times before, the audience was great, the staff was great, the Symphony was great (if a little stiff and stodgy, as always!), and the sound was just okay.
Wonderful concert, great concert hall. Love that they try to keep concerts moving and mixing it up with different eras of classical music. My students had a blast and I will definitely be going back.
Staff was extremely helpful and kind also, can't recommend it enough.
Went to a Rogers and Hammerstein concert with my daughter to satisfy a school requirement for a music class. Beautiful hall and fantastic performance!
I love this venue! The performances have always been incredible. The staff professional. The seating is a little tight in places, but the sound and ambiance are wonderful.
Amazing experience, as always! Masks were required as were presentation of vaccination cards. These pieces are always so much more amazing to hear in person than a recording. The violinist was amazing too!
What an exquisite theater! The sculpture in the foyer is breathtaking and the theater itself is awe-inspiring. I have only attended the symphony there twice so far but look forward to attending a great many more performances in the future. And the staff? They were all super knowledgeable, exceedingly kind, and over the top professionals. They really helped make a very special event even more so.
Wonderful concert hall, great acoustics and layout. Stage not quite large enough for full philharmonic orchestra. Parking can be a problem.
Beautiful concert venue. The foyer has an amazing glass sculpture. Bathrooms are clean with plenty of stalls during intermission. The concert hall itself is also very beautiful. Great acoustics. We saw the symphony here and from very quiet to very loud we could hear every note.
I love this venue. I've watched performances and performed here myself several times. It's a wonderful hall.
Symphony Hall is a great place to hear Utah's best musicians perform.
I had a fun date night with my wife.
It was absolutely wonderful!
When Rachmaninoff No. 2 played - my wife reached over and put my hand on her tummy.
I got to feel my little boy moving about inside of her for the first time, right there in symphony hall.
Apparently he loves classical music. What a great memory.
Fun place. Always nice to be here. The lobby is a piece of artwork on and of itself! Enjoyable atmosphere to enjoy before any show. Then when it comes time for your show the theatre accommodations are wonderful. From the least expensive to the most lavish tickets, I think everyone has a great time.
Truly a breathtaking and remarkably beautiful building! I could not have been more thrilled with my experience not only was the concert that I saw which by the way was the Utah Symphony orchestra performing the score to the iconic movie Star Wars .
Not only was the performance magnificent the staff that helped find our seats were so kind and so polite and excited to help you out meanwhile the staff that helps in concessions were also incredibly helpful and very courteous to all the patrons.
Plenty of visibility. With unfettered views to the stage truly a magnificent ambience as well.
Listening to a Symphony Orchestra is such a delight!
This is a great venue. It's one downfall is that there is only one, slow elevator. Hasn't really changed. I basically a nice venue.
Beautiful venue with great acoustics and all seating in house has a good view.
Beautiful symphony hall with a great orchestra. We were able to sit center front and usher in the Christmas season listening to Handel's Messiah.
I don't think there it's a bad seat on the house. Symphony was great with a3D screen.
Nice to have a big concert hall in the city, however the acoustics are not quite as good as others I have been to. I still have yet to find the best seats for sound, the strings and piano can often get drowned out by the winds. The facilities are clean, but the glass art piece in the lobby is absolutely ghastly and disturbing. The Utah symphony is great though, I really like the pieces they play, save for the modern classical garbage that's passed off as music, but I think that's less the choice of the symphony than the program director.
Beautiful venue. I am a performer with a local choir (MCO) and I love being able to preform in their space. The hall is wonderfully designed for sound but it is also well decorated with beautiful art, colors and amazing architecture.
Definitely go to a concert here, you will not be disappointed.
Wonderful! Friendly! Entertaining! Elegant! Beautiful location for the Utah Symphony and cirque performers... Only thing I dislike is the bar on the first row balcony seats is always in the way to see the performers in front of the orchestra... Getting better seats next season!
The acoustics in the concert hall are fantastic, and the aesthetic of the hall itself is also exquisite. Thee general ambience of the facility is high class, and very well maintained. There are no bad seats available; productions can be well enjoyed from anywhere within the concert hall.
This is a beautiful hall. Acoustics are great! I've attended multiple events put on by the Utah Symphony here and they always produce a quality concert or show. If you've never been, I recommend checking out a show to experience it! Parking across the street at City Creek is pretty easy and cheap, but be aware it can get congested getting out after a concert, especially if there's any other event happening nearby like a Jazz game.
Went to Abravanel Hall for a college graduation. Located right in the center of downtown Salt Lake City, this venue is very nice. I was impressed by how large and spacious the venue was. The seats are comfortable and you have a good view of the stage from pretty much everywhere. They have artistic pieces all around the lobby to take pictures on front of. A great staff is friendly and accommodating.
Such a beautiful place! It's so impressive. The acoustics are good, and the view of the stage is excellent. There's not a bad seat in the house.
This hall is beautiful, and the orchestra exceeded expectations. I get the feeling there is no such thing as a bad or even mediocre performance for this ensemble.
Beautiful inside and an amazing place to listen to a concerto. Comfortable seats too. Definitely did not disappoint
Abravanel has fantastic acoustics. Concerts and operas here are wonderful. Seating has issues on the far sides on levels 1 and 2 if you need to see the full stage though. Went to a recent live Harry Potter concert and it was lovely.
OVERVIEW - 4.2
Came here to the Distant Worlds Concert for Final Fantasy after a friend of mine had offered me a free ticket. It was amazing! The acoustics in the auditorium was great!
LOCATION - 5
Abravanel Hall has a great location just kiddie-corner to temple square in Downtown Salt Lake, and the UTA blue line train leaves you right in front of it!
PRICE - 2
Even though I didn't have to pay for my ticket, I found the price a little steep for my liking. ($65 for the second floor balcony)
PRODUCT/SERVICE - 5
The performance from the Distant Worlds Orchestra was stunning. There were several times I got goosebumps.
POINTERS/PERKS - 4
I would recommend sitting on the second floor balcony towards the middle or perhaps another floor for the best sound and view of the stage. Try to figure out which floor you are on before standing in long lines on the first floor. I couldn't tell by my ticket what floor we would be on.
EMPLOYEES - 5
All the employees were extremely polite, and dressed professionally.
Great symphony concert. Fabulous pianist.
Went to go see Star Wars live and was a fantastic show. The venue was great and well staffed.
Great acoustics and a beautiful place for concerts
Although it is no Carnegie Hall, Abravanel Hall is definitely a symphonic performance venue to be proud of. From the minute you walk in, and, indeed, even as you walk up, it is readily obvious that a lot of thought and care went into this building. The construction is beautifully modern and magnificent, yet avoids ostentation. I will readily admit that I have never heard the actual Utah Symphony perform in Abravanel Hall, only guest groups. I can nonetheless promise that the Hall is capable of terrific sound quality. I have both played on the stage and sat in the audience, and both were wonderful experiences. If you have the chance to travel to New York to experience a concert in Carnegie Hall, I would recommend it with all my heart. There's no comparison. But while you're in Utah, Abravanel Hall makes for a suitable substitute.
Aside from the show I went and saw, My Brother, My Brother and Me, being the greatest show in my life the venue and service was very clean and professional. It had helpful and friendly staff that were able to answer any questions we might have. The only strange little bit about this venue is the stairs going up in the main hall, axis curves but the stairs do not so be careful not to trip. The Bathrooms were accessible and clean. Amenities for handicapped people's were available.
I came here for Harry Potter with live orchestra and was blown away at how wonderful the venue was.
Between the beautiful glass sculpture in the lobby to the wonderful theatre, it was an amazing experience.
The staff is absolutely wonderful as well, they'll help you with just about anything!
Abravanel Hall is a stunning place to enjoy a night of music. The acoustics are great and the styling is beautiful. The seats are comfortable, but leg room is limited which makes for difficult access to middle seats. Parking isn't an issue with City Creek's large underground parking just across the street. There are many other sights to see in the area and plenty of restaurants to eat at. I sure do love going there!
Great sound from the Jr. High and High School All-State Orchestras. These young musicians are really incredible. It was such a pleasure to hear them play such difficult pieces so well. I would really like to see other performances here now too, after being twice.
Watched home alone while the symphony played and it was magical.
Home of the superb Utah Symphony, Abravanel Hall also hosts many other orchestras and musicians. It's tough to find a bad seat anywhere in the venue. The acoustics are amazing. If you get a chance to hear the Utah Symphony play here - especially if you like the piece they are performing - you should grab that chance.
This is a beautiful concert hall and the acoustics are wonderful. I do not think there's a bad seat in the house. The seats are older so are typical (and narrow) but not uncomfortable.
Loved hearing the Messiah. Beautifully done. I only missed singing along!
Great acoustics and the symphony played Bach to perfection. I also liked the huge Chihuly in the lobby.
This is the best place to hear music in the state and one of the better halls in the country. Beautifully and impeccably designed there isn’t a poor seat in the house though each seat could give you a different experience.
I recommend sitting in the top tier in the back for the best audio experience. It’s amazing. However if you are like me and like to feel like you are practically in the orchestra hearing surround sound and mechanical noise, go as close to the stage as possible. For the best hearing and seeing experience, between rows 17-25 are ideal in my view. As one who has seen the symphony hundreds of times in this venue, again, there are no poor seats, but you can take my advice on my preferences! Enjoy this gorgeous hall that features an original Chihuly sculpture that was installed when the olympics came to town.
Lovely venue. Always a delight.
This is a beautiful facility from the floor to ceiling wall of windows facing the mountains, to the Exquisite blown glass sculpture 2 stories high in the lobby, to a beautiful performance theater with stunning chandeliers and an open feel! There is seriously not a bad seat in the house!! I feel I've had a marvelous and special experience each time I go!
Beautiful venue. I saw a combination Ballet West/Utah Symphony performance. It was lovely. I cannot wait to go to my next show.
Beware the brief intermissions, I had to literally chug hot coffee in order to make it back to my seat.
We go to the symphony often. Simply astounding. Everything you expect from a professional concert hall and more.
I have both performed and attended in this beautiful concert Hall. It is just beautiful and the acoustics are perfect. It is a glorious concert Hall for all involved. The last time I was there I was in two performances and it was such a pleasure to be able to performed for the entire audience without obstruction.
Great music in a great concert hall. I definitely recommend seeing the Utah Symphony as a weekend escape.
a bit outdated in some areas, otherwise a very grand concert hall, visitors will exhibit beautiful sound reverberation, and an amazing viewing experience.
Attending any event in a beautiful venue such as Abravanel Hall is an experience to be savored! It is a treasure we better not take for granted in Utah!
An impressive building. Large, elegant, and the concert hall is acoustically impressive. Even on the third floor seats in the back, I can hear quiet and subtle notes from a single instrument. Parking is nearby and you need to pay for it, but worth the cost of admission.
Great venue. Hasn't changed a bit over the years... Has not needed to. Concert hall always immaculate. Plenty of legroom in seats. The talent always amazes, enertains, and delivers so well. Family friendly. Bathrooms are built for high capacity and that's appreciated. We have never had anything but positive experiences here. Highly recommend it. Get tickets ahead of time and can get discount for family-directed concerts.
Took my daughter to the symphony performance of Pirates of the Caribbean. They symphony was AWESOME! They were spot on and sounded so good. Timing to the movie was perfect. In fact I'd love to do it again cause I think it is a fun way to spend time at the symphony. But they're prices are extremely expensive. Expensive for both tickets and concessions. That, and the fact that I couldn't have my concessions in the show, are my only two complaints.
Great place I love the beautiful architecture. Worth going.
Such an awesome experience in a beautiful building!!
Attended a Millenium Choir and Orchestra event. Absolutely stunning. The venue is great as well.
Great place to see a show. Kind of dated decor, but it is still super nice. I can only imagine the sound is great everywhere. The front row is lower than the stage, so be prepared to look up if you get close seats.
We went to the Jojo Siwa concert here and it was so much fun! Staff was happy and knowledgeable about exactly where our seats were. Only complaint is that you couldn’t bring anything besides water to your seats, whereas I would have enjoyed bringing a soda or a snack. It is understandable though since they want to maintain their facility and bringing sticky snacks in can ruin that!
This is a stunning concert hall with mind blowing acoustics and comfortable seating. Snacks are reasonable priced (I would consider them cheap for an upscale venue like this). There's a large, paid parking lot kiddy corner to the venue, but no parking at the actual building.
Very nice music Hall. Utah symphony played music with the veiwing of Pirates of the Caribbean
great place to perform. congrats to anyone else in the umea state honor choir 2020
Utah symphony is just so fantastic!!
This is a nice venue to see the Symphony and other big name acts. It beautifully and simplistically adorned in faux gold with excellent acoustics. Parking is a challenge but such is the case for a downtown venue. There is a coat check and a basic selection of refreshments. If you're looking for a fine wine selection....well...sneak it in yourself....
Offering the best in symphonic presentations, this is a must for any fan of the musical arts. I saw Star Wars in concert and the orchestra was so in sync, so on time, so perfect that it was as if the score was being played on DVD or something. Beautiful decor and delightful hospitality staff easily earn this venue a 5 star rating.
This place is absolutely georgeous, had the opportunity to perform here in a large group choir, and it sounded amazing. I had a wonderful experience.
2nd time here. So nice and the orchestra is amazing! We attended the Films and concert series. It was a very nice experience.
I have had season tickets for the USO for years. They are one of my favorite things about living in Utah.
It is a beautiful performance hall. The seating is comfortable and the performances are wonderful.
Stadium seating, assigned seats, three levels. We were on the floor in the middle and I think had some of the best seats in the house. Nice venue for a more formal concert, not a rock and roll venue for sure. Right by city creek and downtown hotels.
The Utah Symohony plays here. They are a great symphony
Excellent venue (dress nice!) Great place for a first date or 40th anniversary. I am impressed every time I go, the Utah symphony is first class and the guests at Abravanel Hall are always amazing.
Great concert hall! Not a bad seat I. The building. Lots of close parking, but you have to pay for it. Trax runs right in front of the building too. We had so much fun for a concert I would definitly go to a concert there again!!
Fabulous night at the symphony. We went to the night that they perform for those with disabilities who have a hard time in regular concerts. It was nice knowing that their behaviors wouldn't be looked on negatively. It was really great!
I've come to several different shows here and several different kinds of shows, and they've all been good experiences. I enjoy when they show movies with a live Orchestra, although it can be difficult to hear the movie sometimes. Hope you have a good time!
Our family loves this place. Lately, we've been going to the film's in concert series. It's a great way to introduce younger kids to the symphony. The sound is Sooo much better than the actual movies.
I am always so in love with the acoustics here! Thank you Utah symphony for letting me bring my students to your dress rehearsal, it's the most respectful listening I've ever observed them doing.
This is a good place to go to a show but their rules and regulations Regarding food and drink are puzzling. Because they have a snack bar outside of the main Hall however they will only let you bring water into the auditorium. That to me seems kind of odd if they don't want people bringing those items in to the thedor then they should not be sold during intermission because the point of most theaters that sell concessions is to have something to enjoy during the performance And it also makes it difficult if a person has to use the men's or women's facility in a timely manner so they don't miss the show they paid for. Because the men's and women's restrooms are very small and there is always a big line. Which means 9 times out of 10 you run the risk of missing a major part of the performance you paid your hard earned money for.
Great venue, top of the class artists/performers. Great staff! I catch a few concerts each year and never had just an "okay" experience. The symphony is terrific!
Amazing place, a beautiful hall almost always filled with wonderful music. It's very enjoyable to sit in the audience and listen to the Utah Symphony or another group, and it is even more enjoyable to perform onstage.
Very enjoyable Symphony concert. On entering covid vaccination card or test required. Masks required entire time in building.
Abravanel hall really is something Utah can be proud of, it's construction is amazing and it's acoustics even more so. I have never been disappointed with the experience of Abravanel hall. I would definitely recommend anyone to attend a concert or symphony here!
What a beautiful building and great performances. The only thing I hate are the seats. Call me paranoid but solid rows all the way across the entire hall just seems unsafe? It was an awkward set up to me. I felt super claustrophobic, but I'm sure if that doesn't bother you -you will be just fine.
This place has a fantastic atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly! We go to see the Utah symphony on occasion, and the acoustics are great throughout the performance hall. This is a beautiful place to spend a night out.
We saw the Broadway Divas show tonight.
AMAZING. The Utah Symphony was stellar as usual.
My only complaint was with the sound technician. My seats were closer to the speaker, so I could hear the voices way louder than the symphony.
I've been to Abravenel Hall several times over the last 7 years for various graduation ceremonies (including my own). The atmosphere is fantastic and elegant. My favorite piece of decor are the chandeliers. It's always clean and the staff has always been friendly to my family and I.
This is a pretty good venue for concerts, etc. I typically see Jerry Seinfeld when he comes through town. Seats have good views. Seat numbering can be a bit confusing to some. The location is convenient to downtown. You can always find a place to get a something to eat/drink before or after your show. Employees are patient and helpful. Parking is whatever you can find downtown. Egress is just as scattered depending on where you park.
Wonderful concert hall, always clean and comfortable,. Fantastic performance from every event I have been to there.
Loved being there for the Gina Bachauer Youth Piano competition final. The 5 finalist each played concertos with the Utah Symphony and they were amazing. The competition was at such a high level and the music so moving. Loved it and hope to be back next time.
It's a really nice place and excellent music, I just wish that people had symphony etiquette. For instance knowing when to clap, not just jabbering on to the person besides them or being on their phone during the performance, paying a good chunk of money for rules to not be enforced.
My wife and I saw Holst's The Planets by the Utah Symphony at Abravanel Hall. Apart from the inspiring performance, the venue was gorgeous and its unique architecture is a treat in and of itself. The staff was polite and knowledgeable. Our seats were upholstered and comfortable. As an acoustics student, I can attest to the responsible design of features of the hall that make for phenomenal acoustics, especially for music performance. More exit doors would have come in handy when the performance ended, but it wasn't terribly inconvenient. The TRAX station right outside makes this an easily-accesible venue. Hope to visit again soon!
I love this concert hall. I almost left off a star for the awful carpet in the lobby that replaced the old, beautiful green carpet. But giving four instead of five stars for something that trivial would be silly. (Almost as silly as the decision to install vertigo-inducing carpet in the lobby of a concert hall that was perfectly lovely as it was before).
Nice show, great facility, awesome seats. Picked out tickets up at will call and got right in. Parking across the street at Park Place was really convenient. Cost 10 bucks, but was really close and quick to exit after the show.
There isn't a bad seat here. Amazing acoustics as well. And they have a lot of different performances here, from Alton Brown to a start wars symphony. Great place!
Classic theater with amazing acoustics. Main floor is oddly designed with no access to seats other than on the very ends. Balcony's are excellent. Dress is semi-formal at least.
Awesome place to spend your time and money. Beautiful building, everyone is very kind and always willing to help, and the music and acoustics are amazing. I've been going all my life and each time have been surprised and amazed.
Love it! Great music. Thanks for letting us hear it.
Saw the Utah Symphony perform. Amazing acoustics, and the performance was top notch
We went to the Santa Claus performance today. It was so magical for my girls, 4 and 7. They absolutely LOVED it!
It is not all its cracked up to be. It's not bad but parking is ridiculous add another 20 minutes for that between parking and walking there. It is auditorium seats like at an elementary school and depending on the venue, ie symphony they will not let you in you are late. Hope this is objectively informational
It is an amazing venue that is acoustically amazing. Even though it's over 40 years old, it still feels timeless and ages well. It has been a delight to attend this hall both as a kid and an adult.
We've had season tickets for a number of years, and have enjoyed the acoustics, seating, and experience. Recent renovations and small changes have been very appreciated, and we will continue to enjoy a variety of performances and artists.
Great concert hall! No real bad seats!
We went here because my sister was in the honor choir! It sounded so nice and everything felt so fancy to me haha.
Been here for many concerts over the years. Always good sound quality and a really beautiful building and performing hall.
Beautifu place. We went to see Sarah Brightman in concert and it was great.
This is a beautiful concert hall!
It's very easy to get to, whether you pay to park right across the street or at the expo center next door, or you take Trax to the Temple Square stop (in the free fare zone).
If you really love the symphony, I recommend going to the lectures before performances, and arriving early to hear the live music in the lobby as well. Also, definitely look into Vivace! Nothing beats taking a free shuttle out to a local bar after the performance to visit with fellow symphony-goers and musicians!
The Utah Symphony last night was great. I'm glad those whom I was with were able to come. The staff were very helpful with what's needed.
What a beautiful building! The acoustics are top notch. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is the seat sizes. They really pack you in.
Many years ago when I first started attending concerts I was a little disappointed on the "simpleness" of the design of the concert hall. However, in years since I have learn to love the venue and found that there are very few bad seats in the house. I love the hall and the concerts it hosts!
We always have great time listening to great music. We have watched several movies with the symphony playing the music and it is a great show.
What an amazing venue. The Utah Symphony was superb. Their production of Home Alone was excellent!
The music is always inspiring. Abravenel Hall is stunningly crafted. The Films in Concert series shows the artistic merit of the music in films. My husband and I love from scores, so this series is a perfect way for us to enjoy the symphony.
Utah Symphony is the best I've ever seen
Wonderful experience! The concert was fantastic and the acoustics were perfect. My only complaint is that picking up tickets from will-call was a total hassle.
great experience 😁 would highly recommend for anyone missing live performances. There are always fun events and talented performers …
Amazing acoustics in this theater. We witness the Salt Lake Symphony put on an incredible performance. The music was moving and the venue was beautiful and built with sound in mind.
The Utah Symphony is one of my favorite activities in Salt Lake. Their sound clarity is one of the finest in the world. They always keep their playlist at a fine balance of classic and introduction of something new and off the beaten path. Great for the whole family.
Always worth the visit and experience. Choose your favorite musical event and enjoy.
We really LOVE Abravenal Hall. But in this show I could only see maybe 20% of the show because the people all around kept sitting forward & back. Oddly aggressively through the whole show. I finally gave up of seeing the show. I just sat & closed my eyes & pretended to be listening to the podcast. $70 a ticket down the drain. The ushers were very concerned if they thought people had a big purse. But the fact that most of the audience kept standing or at least standing on the front row of the 2nd tier so that the 2 rows behind or even 1st row farther than the stage super sucked. It broke my poor daughters heart.
The Hall was comfortable – just the right temperature, lighting, and mood. The Utah Symphony didn't disappoint, either. Definitely a great date spot. The student discount was also a nice touch.
Beautiful venue! We were blown away at how the sound carried. It didn't appear that there would be a bad seat, as it is a smaller, more intimate venue.
Nice place and every seat has a good view. Just be warned that there are no isles. If you don't want to crawl over a million people sit on the far right or far left. If you don't want a million people crawling over you come really early and sit in the middle.
In some ways the venue is showing its age, but overall is holding up well. It is always a pleasure to see performances here. Bring a date an enjoy the music.
This is such a TREASURE to the community!!
The Abravanel Hall has brought the most amazing performances!! They have brought us from elementary school productions through Joshua Bell, Ann Murray,,, so many MANY more.
We LOVE this place.
Rhapsody in Blue was absolutely amazing!!! This new Unwound thing is going to catch on big time! Speakeasy theme this time, of course, because GERSHWIN! Complete with costumes, cash bar, gold fringe curtains, and meet the performers... Fantastic evening with two encores by the pianist!
Great atmosphere, amazing staff, and very entertaining shows. If you love live orchestra and opera they have some of the most tallented people that you wish the show didn't have to end.
Very beautiful place went to an amazing concert with musicians from all over Utah! Classy place ❤
The symphony here is always great. The artist are very talented and in my opinion top notch for a city the size of Salt Lake. I can't recommend the Utah Symphony enough.
We came for Casting Crowns and the sound here was pretty good. The only drawback is the seating. With only one row of seats and no center aisle you end up having an inordinate number of people you have to let get by you
We had a fantastic time at a great field trip for my daughter's 5th grade class. The music and explanations were excellent and everyone had a great time. Thank you to the Utah Symphony for a great morning.
The Utah Symphony is so wonderful. Every evening is lovely, well programmed, and well rehearsed. Thierry Fischer is an excellent conductor - we are so lucky to have him conducting the symphony. I love Abravanel Hall.
The architecture of this concert hall is fantastic and I love coming here to listen to the Utah Symphony. They have a coat check that costs a dollar. Before some of the shows, they've had musicians performing in the lobby.
A beautiful, very large concert hall that requires no amplification. The seats were comfortable, the temperature was comfortable, and we heard everything perfectly, even though we were near the back.
The hall is absolutely beautiful and very well kept. It would be helpful if the staff members were all on the same page. It took three different staff member before they could find our will call tickets. Then because of that mix up we were a minute or two late. An usher started to take us in, then a different usher grabbed my arm and pulled me out saying I needed to wait until the applause. I tried to explain I was just following the other usher and my family but she kept saying I had to wait. I was bummed to be separated from my family and my husband had the tickets so I didn't know where they were sitting or anything. The other usher came back and let me in but it was just confusing. It would be good if all the ushers were on the same page.
Awesome venue for our Utah Symphony. Music Transcends Here!
SLC's Utah Symphony is magnificent! Abravanel Hall is the beautiful venue for this renowned symphony -- and other entertainment. It boasts superb acoustics and chairs with ample leg room.
went to see a concert there. the sounds was so good!
Nice vintage music hall, lots of close by parking and great sounds. Seating is tight and could be much more comfortable. Clean and ok service. Would like more and better snack and drink options though!
Such great acoustics! Such an elegant place for a performance. We saw Lamb of God here and it was incredible.
Great social distancing, the program was amazing, staff very friendly.
Beautiful place, nice and clean.
Great place to go to a concert. Nice space and good viewing from all seats
Attended the SuperHero show which was an eclectic mix of Movie scores and soundtracks. Abravanel Hall was a comfortable place. Great show, fun and upbeat. Orchestra sounded great. Guest conductor was very good.
Cool venue definitely recommend parking at city creek under Macey's and trying to get a voucher from a restaurant or store because parking is pricy
Very, very nice. Volunteered for a Dave Ramsey event in June and the site was great. Lots of nice seating, very comfortable atmosphere, well-trained, nice staff. Would definitely go again for any event in the future.
Staff were quick and helpful at the ticket office, concessions, and helping with seating. This is a glorious venue. Saw the Harry Potter presented with the symphony, and it was a magical experience.
Just finished the 75th season with a phenomenal performance of Mahler's 9th. I've had seats in every part of the hall over the years and there literally is not a bad seat in the house. And that orchestra!
Watched Home Alone while the Symphony played the musical score in perfect synchronization. It was wonderful!
The first line is way too close to the stage. You have to pull your head back in order to see what's going on in the stage. The smoke that's usually used in concerts gets in your face because of the closeness of your seat to the stage. I don't recommend buying a ticket for the first line.
Calvary Chapel of SLC in Murray held their Easter Service celebration there today (4/21/19). It was my first visit to this beautiful building I found it to be an awesome venue for musical performances and fine arts events!
Beautiful building to listen to the Utah Symphony in. Acoustics are excellent and very few seats have an obstructed view (depends on show). Highly recommended!
Very beautiful place. The orchestra was a emotional experience that everyone should have. I loved it! My wife took me for a little date. Very good.
Bravo Utah Symphony Bravo!! It was truly a lovely evening. I was also fortunate to hear a new piece. It was very good. The gentleman said, it was a mixture of old and new. I believe it'll be a classic in the future as well.
Seated in arguably the most beautiful area of downtown Salt Lake, this hall was a wonderful place. The acoustics are perfect, the symphony was perfect, the performance was perfect. I'll be back.
Wonderful
A stunning, world class concert hall with a unique Chihuly installation in the foyer. Plenty of parking nearby makes this a wonderful destination for a night on the town.
Simply spectacular! We've been patrons of the symphony for nearly fifty years, we've seen, and continue to see some spectacular talent. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful building. I've never experienced any problems here (other than a single performance, but the location itself was perfect). I recommend coming to shows, and other events here if you have an opportunity.
A beautiful location for a wonderful music experience. I would recommend them for all musical events.
Love this place such wonderful events! Celtic Women was amazing as usual keep bringing such special Talent here!! High Kings and Queens Six needs to be next!!!
I went to Abravanel Hall for the Harry Potter live orchestra concert and it was great! The hall itself was clean and well laid out. The decorations were interesting. Great place for concerts.
Amazing venue. We loved seeing jerry Seinfeld here.
When they're for the pop concert for the celebration of the 24th always enjoyed the bravo now hall easy Access great to take the trucks downtown drops you off no sense in trying to drive your car so just any time there's something going on enjoy taking the tracks to Abravanel Hall
This is one of the best venues for great music always feel great after the shows
We love going to Abavanel Hall! It is a beautiful place. The gold- plated walls and sculpture in the foyer are amazing. The Utah Symphony is incredible to hear as well.
Absolutely beautiful venue! Every detail is stunning, and there is so much legroom in every row. The Acoustics are phenomenal as well.
Perfomance during the pandemic is quite a surreal experience. Plenty of space between patrons and also between the musicians. They changed up the format for safety reasons but it still is fantastic as always.
Saw and heard an excellent show. Sitting in back, second tier, sound was great. Thank you Utah Symphony.
Fantastic music auditorium and concrete with the Utah Symphony. Love their music! And love the Abravanel Hall!
Went for Star Wars. It was fantastic and so well done.
It's a pretty place but they have NO idea how to efficiently handle security. Waiting 25 min in the cold to get wanded is a joke and also made it so that anyone who didn't show up 20-30 min early couldn't get in till 20 min after the show was supposed to start.
I've been to this venue for many performances. It's a great theatre with spectacular art pieces, comfortable seats, and stunning acoustics.
Really liked going to see a orchestra concert here. The only thing is they dont allow food or drink in the actual concert hall, so you have to eat it all out in the main entrance.
Abravanel Hall provides a wonderful concert experience with great acoustics. We especially enjoy Utah Symphony Orchestra performances here.
Great venue for the Symphony.
We sat on the side seats, Section C of Tier 1. Great seats, wonderful view of the concert. The Brown Family was amazing!!
Beautiful venue. Unique architecture. High class performances. The Utah Symphony is seriously one of the greatest in the country.
We saw the Nightmare Before Christmas symphony. It was spectacular besides people talking during the end credits performance. They ask you to shut off your cell phones (or put them on silent). They should ask people to shut their mouths and clap AFTER the end credits. Just because the movie is over doesn't mean the performance is.
Salt Lake gem! We are Wasatch Speaker Series members and get the joy of visiting Abravanel almost every month. They finally take cards at the refreshment counter, just remember that only bottled water is allowed in the concert hall. The Chihuly sculpture in the lobby is stunning.
Amazing venue, our experience was well worth the money. The composer was fantastic!
Abravanel Hall is a lovely venue, with great acoustics, comfortable seating, and an amazing lobby. The Utah Symphony is a treasure of talented artists creating beauty.
Needs remodel. Bathrooms leaking and in disrepair. The seats in the concert very worn. Cushions uncomfortable and not solid. Music was ok
Fabulous venue for our Easter celebration presenting Lamb of God! We filled every seat plus had 150 people who stood in the lobby and watched the concert on video!
Among other artists, the Utah Symphony plays in this beautiful venue with outstnding acoustics. We loved their recent Brahms concert!
My partner and I come to see Harry Potter here and it was amazing! The Utah symphony was incredible and the staff within the hall were incredibly kind.
Abavanel Hall is one of the aucoustically best concert halls in the country. The architecture is very beautiful. It's a fantastic place to go to a concert by the Utah Symphony.
Wonderful concert hall. The Utah Symphony Orchestra is the only full time symphony orchestra in the Intermountain West I believe! We are lucky to have them, and this venue, in SLC.
Beautiful interiors and amazing acoustics. Please support the arts in Salt Lake city and if you have the opportunity, come to Abravanel Hall.
Best hall by far! The preformers are wonderful and the staff us so very kind to the performers! I wish this hall to never fade away for it is a place of magic and wonder.
If you have a chance to go, just go. I've been to a number of performances there from their Film In Concert, Masterwork, and Entertainment series. Loved everyone one of them.
Great venue! Its AWESOME what the Utah Symphony does for the Special Needs community and their families! We look forward to this every year!
Such a beautiful venue! Every seat is a good seat. The Utah Symphony is awesome every time. Love coming here.
Great acoustics. Utah symphony is amazing.
Enjoyed experiencing live music after so many months. Thierry Fischer is the best conductor. Thx for the music!
Loved singing here. The acoustics are amazing.
Great place to enjoy the weekend, wonderful Utah symphony and all the guest performance throughout the year. Very warm and friendly atmosphere.
Always a lovely day to go to the symphony. The hall is so lovely, though slightly dated, that just adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the whole place. Staff and service were excellent, as always. I'll be returning as soon as I can.
Amazing songs! Saw a couple friends as well. If only they could do video game songs I would be down! I would probably go with friends because it is fun that way.
Fantastic all around, the seating is great, the people are great. The only downfall is the acoustics. I have heard much better resonance in many other venues.
I have always enjoyed my visits to Abravanel Hall, it's a beautiful building with a great symphony. The only small complaint I have is buying tickets online, it's hard to get an idea of your view and where the seats are situated.
I have not had a bad experience here yet! Wonderful acoustics, well taken care of and the shows are always great regardless of the genre.
Very clean and gorgeous hall in Salt Lake. Utah Symphony is the one of best orchestras. You may enjoy performance of romantic music in romantic hall.
Would recommend this classy and sophisticated venue for any show.
Music is for the soul! And this is the temple! It can't be more elevating than this!!
A really special venue.
Great deals for students.
Wonderful performances and staff.
Saw MCO here, the venue was clean, seating wasn't too cramped and the sound carried very well. The Golden railing was really cool too.
Beautiful grand concert hall with amazing acoustics. Very reasonable nearby parking. Great area for tourism, shopping and just wandering around.
Who doesn't love Abravanel Hall?!?!? My ONE complaint is the seats. They are nice, well taken care of but they are small in width and so close to each other. It is quite uncomfortable when sitting for an extended period of time.
Great evening listening to Women Rock performed by women. Very well done! The workers were friendly, sound fabulous, great music.
This is such a beautiful hall! I've always thoroughly enjoyed every show I have been here to see.
There isn't a bad seat in Abravanel Hall. We love when concerts are held here. Plenty of restrooms make for an easy intermission run. 😉 …
Love this place! The Utah Symphony is a local gem. Often you can get family specials and deals to take the entire family for an amazing deal.
Beautiful venue, excellent acoustics for a concert.
The concert we attended to was great, it was tidy and with great space to sit :-) people there was also very nice and helpful!! Definitely a must when in SLC
Great Kick Off Concert for the Utah Symphony. Governor Cox conducted the first song.
It's a great venue. Very accessible and the train stop right in front. Symphony is awesome and you are greeted in the front by chihuly glass exhibit. Splendid.
We were at the opening gala for the upcoming season. The seats we had were very good. We could see everything and hear nothing but the beautiful music that the musicians were playing.
This was awesome I saw the Harry Potter with live orchestra, life changing!!
Always a great time at Abravanal Hall! All the shows I have been to have been phenomenal!
I loved hearing the Utah Symphony play the music to Star Wars Return of the Jedi while watching it on the big screen.
Amazing building and performances! Of you get a chance make sure to check out a symphony here! Very talented.
Very first time I have ever seen a symphony the place was awesome I enjoyed it a lot. For a few hours I forgot I was homeless and enjoyed being a normal human.
Most excellent performance! I love their Movies in Concert!
Such a crazy beautiful auditorium to go to... It's amazing! The performers here are also really, really good. Highly recommended.
Beautiful venue. There are no bad seats; sound quality and sight lines are great in every location.
The abravinall hall the die sign is cool but the music was boing it was just like any other syphony the building is made out of wood but it doesn't do anything to the sound. People say it was cool inside but it wasn't that noticeable at all the coolest thing is the shandler it is made out of gold but it was not notice able ether it is just like a high school symphony un
Christmas decorations on stage looked like Charlie Brown trees the lights looked like they had been thrown on ,not even. The program was amazing . My daughter said the same thing .
This venue is always fun, organized events, clean facilities, friendly staff. Love their Christmas concert series, many choices and kid friendly events.
Beautiful venue, great location. The seats are quite small, most venues like this have tight seats these are the tightest.
Sound quality was great, the seats seemed a little short and crowded.
Loved the show u went to see.
Beautiful venue, the staff are pleasurable. Seats can be small, but we always enjoy our visits
Wonderful night.. orchestra was great. Gave me more appreciation for sound tracks of movies and their enhancement of the. film
Amazing venue! Make sure to check out their student tickets that they have for a large variety of shows.
Thus it's a great venue! Beautiful, excellent acoustics, and not a bad seat in the house.
My wife and I went to the Symphony of the Goddess and we had a marvelous time. The directions provided by Google were really good. Though make sure you have a place to park. We parked at the nearby mall.
Great concert experience and you have a great seat anywhere in this place
Beautiful concert hall. Went to see Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone in concert and it was fantastic! The symphony is so talented.
We attended a great concert here celebrating patriotic America 🇺🇸. Very nice venue. …
I saw the Utah symphony here. Very nice and profesional location with 5 star level guest support. Very clean and the performance was amazing
What an amazing concert hall. The acoustics just work. I love coming here to listen to music in its most glorious presentation.
Gorgeous theater!! Incredible sound! Staff is extremely attentive and helpful!
What a classy, beautiful building. The symphony was superb. We went for the evening where the symphony accompanied Ghost Busters. It was wonderful.
Beautiful venue, but 1 elevator is not enough to handle all of the people who can't navigate the stairs.
Was a very nice venue for a concert. It was a little small for a big concert and the seats seemed a little cramped. All in all it was a good experience.
The show was great, the building and acoustics are awesome. The flow of people and obliviousness toward others before the show was pretty crazy.
Both of the concerts I have been to here were absolutely amazing and the staff are very kind.
Profoundly great acoustics. Utah Symphony is one of North America's finest orchestras
My girls and I LOVED this musical theater experience!!
Beautiful building inside and out. The acoustics are excellent and the seats are comfortable. Go to the symphony!
Abravanel Hall's first concert after the pandemic. To celebrate, the Governor of Utah directed the first piece!😯😃 …
Great seats great acoustics. Easy parking at City Creek. Ticket checking and ushering to seats was easy.
Very big and open, lots of room and great acoustics
Great seats, great customer service, amazing sound. Nathan Pacheco was fantastic!
Nice venue. Seats are a bit old and uncomfortable. We had a great time there though.
Went for Star Wars: Empire. It was a great experience! Seating wasn't too close, but also a little uncomfortable after the 2 hour mark
While the show was great the lack of sufficient and open will call windows and staffing within that area was ridiculous.
Bill Engvall was hilarious and kept the jokes coming...
It's very nice to see preforming arts here in salt lake City. The architecture is amazing and the acoustics are very good.
Beautiful selection, love their film series and the orchestra is wonderful.
An unexpectedly beautiful venue. Very impressed. We saw the Millennial Choir and Orchestra preform there for Christmas.
Great performance today by the Utah Symphony (Sep 10th). The Abravanel Hall lends itself to magnify the experience exquisitely. Thank you!
My wife is disabled and in a wheelchair we were given handicapped seating then was told to move to a place where there was very little room for her to move. I was livid but held my temper in check because our son was graduating colledge.
The Symphony is among the best - anywhere. The programs are so diversified that there is something for everyone during the season! Don't miss your chance to be impressed!
Beautiful and acoustically great place for concerts and other productions. Spacious, no bad seats.
So beautiful!! I went to see a live podcast show there and it was a blast. Great seats and accoustics
So happy that it is back open they always bring great preformances in. The Symphony is always a great time!
Beautiful and had a great sound
So many amazing performances and such a wonderful venue.
For such a great hall in the city they don't have the best seating or acoustics. The outside looks great!
What a great venue for a symphony performance or other. Its clean, beautiful, easy to get to, and the staff is friendly.
Very beautiful ochestra and the interior is remarkable, the food was good regarding musical theatre wise. All together it was a great experience!
