My first time here I failed because my instructor didn’t give me many details about what I was supposed to do and I felt like he was rushing me. My second time I passed because the woman was so nice and explained everything to me in detail, made me feel at ease and told me to take my time. Just take your time and you’ll do great! I also recommend not using a big SUV as the spaces are kind of tight, smaller the car the better

My son had his road / course test today. He was so nervous. We had Guy as the instructor! This man was so friendly, pleasant, humble, positive & polite. He talked my son thru everything...it was a wonderful feeling! Could not have had a better instructor! He was so amazing....he helped my son remain calm the entire time. It was a very pleasant experience!

My experience at the road test site was amazing! I took the road test with my driving school, and had Guy as my test examiner. He took the time to make sure I understood his instructions and ensured that I felt comfortable throughout the entirety of the test. I was very nervous about passing, but they make sure that each station is clearly explained and stress that you take your time. The ladies who help you with your paperwork after your test are excellent as well!

Very well organized...honestly, I like this better than a real "road test." Granted, the inspector gets a real feel of the driving skills on the road, but risk themselves unnecessarily. The 4 stations in the enclosed course are really well planned and thought out. The inspector gives clear instructions at each checkpoint....and really if one fails that closed course exam, are they even road worthy? Parallel parking is the biggest concern just about everyone there encountered. However my kid practiced 6 months straight for parallel parking and nailed it at 4" distance for both front and back tires....inspector was thoroughly pleased. Keep this going RI DMV.....easier and safer for all.

It is very easy you can watch a video on line at Rhode Island DMV it's exactly the way it goes they tried to trick you at stop number five when you finish test number 5 they tell you okay drive to number 6 make sure you stop at the stop sign at number five even though you've already completed that test. Do not bring anyone with you to sit in the passenger seat if you do tell them to get out before you do your test. I got points taken off because I didn't backup using my mirrors I actually turned around to backup to see what is behind me. Use your mirrors to backup practice and you will do well

Everyone was so nice and friendly. Took my test today 2/18, arrived 30mins before my test which was at 10! Waited in the car line for a little bit, then it was my timeeeee. I was super nervous but my instructor was so nice and very thorough with the directions of each station. I passed with a 94 on my first try! Happiest day of my life. If my instructor who I had today sees this thank you for being a good instructor!!! Amaris

Professional. My instructor was so nice she was patient and supportive. She made me feel comfortable. The only slightly annoying thing was the long wait before actually starting the test. But overall was a good experience!

I have called and visited the DMV office many times for my learner's permit and license, they've always been kind, helpful and responsive. I've specifically talked to Alana and she's been really nice to me! I gave my road test last Saturday - my supervisor was Andrew and he was extremely calm and nice. Overall, I have had a wonderful experience!

I recently took my road test, I was very nervous and anxious, but my instructor Guy, was the best. He always made sure to throughly explain each course to make sure I understood what I had to do, and he was also very patient. I usually hear all bad things about the dmv but if you get Guy as your instructor you’ll definitely love him, such an easy going person and made the whole experience very smooth.

Very professional service. However, the closed road course is woefully inadequate to evaluate drivers, especially new ones. The "real driving", interactive, open road test should immediately be reinstated.

Very well organized especially during the pandemic. The whole process is contactless and very professional. The course is in a small enclosed area and very well thought out. Although it's harder than actually driving, they've put together a good set of tests to evaluate various driving skills. Not bad compared to the old days.

Had to have a certified window tint check. People were pleasant, helpful and professional. John went out of his way to accommodate me, in and out in ten minutes. He also called my inspection center to expedite the process. Dmv has changed and it should be acknowledged. Great experience.

Is the road test a course, or actually on the road? I live in westerly and it's a really small town so driving in a busy area of providence would kind of suck haha... and is the test easy or difficult? And what maneuvers do you have to complete in order to pass
