Reviews of Rocky Statue
Kelly Cambridgeport
After the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, the Rocky Statue is the next Philadelphia stop for tourists. The statue is free to visit. There is always a line, but it goes fast. People spend about 30 seconds with the statue. You can ask the person behind you to take a picture for you. Sometimes there's an entrepreneur who will offer to take pictures for you. I paid one enterprising young man a dollar. Some people didn't pay him anything. I'm happy I did because he helped the line go much faster and he was an expert with camera phones. He took 10 photos of me in different poses and in both portrait and landscape modes, all in 15 seconds.
Ina Merten
If you are in Philadelphia, of course you also have to come here 😉 Impressive next to the "Rocky" guide in front of the statue is the view from the stairs. Funny to watch at the same time how many "storm" the stairs, regardless of age, gender and physical condition, to celebrate themselves upstairs in Rocky Pose. 😂 The view of the Museum of Art at the top and down the stairs towards the skyline are impressive. It is worth strolling along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway towards the city.
Donna Dawson
I went to the Rocky Statue yesterday, March 13, 2022. It was a special moment for me because Rocky has been a childhood hero of mine since I was 5 years old. Growing up, watching Rocky was inspirational and he was a true fighter against life. I love you Sylvester Stallone for creating such a beloved character that is a true hero to many of us around the world.
Ramiro Calace Montú
Must seen statue if you like Rocky or movies in general. Beware of people asking you to take a picture, they are just trying to get your money. If they take your pic (even with your own phone) and you don’t tip them, they will get a bit aggressive.
After the pic with the statue, walk around the museum, it’s a beautiful path (pic N2)
K Crawford
It's not in top of the stairs like in the movie. Only reason we saw it was because of the line. We pushed across the street and hopped it for pictures. It's free and people will definitely wait the few minutes for a pic. We even took pictures for each other. CAUTION: there are two guys offering to take pics with your camera however they expect a few dollars. I was used to it being a NYer but my friend was a little overwhelmed.... until I introduced her to Mr Softee🤣🤣
Carlos Duarte
amazing experience i had in philadelphia i always watch all the Rambo movies and taking a picture at the rocky statue was a unique experience. the place is very beautiful and I highly recommend everyone to visit Philadelphia
Humberto Murati
Had a great day riding in Philly last month. It was great to see cycling is a big deal in the city and young people enjoying it. City should consider closing the city center for bikes and pedestrian only once twice a month. You Like my bike? Follow on Instagram #muratibicycles
Jose Mizrahi
Cool spot for Rocky fans. There’s a short line to take a photo, and there are a few people who offer to take your picture for a tip. They give you cool and fun ideas and take many photos of you, however you can easily take a regular selfie.
Keith Tan
The infamous Rocky Statue of Rocky Balboa in Philadelphia! Quite a queue before my turn to take a picture. Do you know that it was previously in front of the museum at the top of the stairs (now replaced with just his footprints in metal templates)? Due to its irrelevancy to arts, it was moved elsewhere but returned to the bottom right of the stairways due to the powerful demands of fans.
Manuel Girisch
Absolut musst for Cineasts and Movielovers. And of course a pilgrim sanctuary for Sylvester Stallone Fans! Also Rocky is decorated with the Ukrain coulours, which means that Rocky is fighting again Russia once more!
Marked Leader
If you are a Rocky fan then you must go here, it's iconic and everyone else in line is always helpful to one another taking pics.
Andru Voss
It was dope to see this statue. Although the people who "work" near there aren't actual employees. But the assistance in taking the photos is helpful, but not necessary and they do demand a tip.
TJ87 Music
The experience was great just like the movie and I even got a shout-out from the legend himself. Salute to a real one. It's around $15 for parking across the street. It's highly recommended for all Rocky and Creed fans. Take it back do-do-do-do take it back.
Juliana Olubunmi Onaiyekan
I was taken back to the times I watched the movie. ☺️
Unfortunately I couldn’t take a picture by the statue as there was a line about a block long, of people wanting a picture too.
I did run up the steps an got a good view down the boulevard.
But the experience was wonderful.
Joe DeFeo
One of those things that you should do when you're here in town, but I don't know if it's a must see. The main problem is the wait time for pictures. Essentially you're standing in front of a giant advertisement for Rocky 3. The space is crowded by vendors and folks who want to take your picture for tips, but you're better off just going it on your own. Classic piece of the city, but make your way up to the famous stairs, which will lead you to the fantastic museum.
Wendy Ellis (Skyflier)
The statue itself, was great to see. As we were from out of town from Alberta, Canada, we were unaware of the nearby road closure and deconstruction of the stage which closed off the entrance to the Arts museum. Wanted to see the flight of stairs also. Due to disability and walking with walker, was too tuckered out to take the detour to get to steps. Got our pictures in front of the statue and explored a few other of the several commemorative statues in the park area, around the side and back of the Art Museum.
Donna Fortune
It's worth the trip. It's really cool and see if you can run up the steps!
Jacob B
This was definatly something worth seeing if you are here in Philly, it is a couple minutes of waiting but it is cool to take your photo with this iconic statue!
Louis MINGUET
A cool and iconic place, a little busy, but a must see !
This place is safe, unlike the Rocky’s house
pawel pk
tourist attraction, great interest of tourists causes long queues for photos, the famous stairs are also nearby
James M
Very cool spot with a small line to get pictures. Well worth it though.
Wade Williams
It’s Rocky! What’s not to like?! Be aware there is a long line for photos with Rocky
Vassil Karamanov
If you are a Rocky fan you should definitely run up the rocky steps and take a picture with the Rocky statue. I grew up on the Rocky movies and it was so much fun going to the film locations while playing the Rocky soundtrack! There was health-conscious fitness people everywhere. Great vibes and so much fun.
Chris Ferguson
If you’re a fan of the movie or the franchise then you absolutely have to stop and see the Rocky statue. If you visit it during the day, expect to wait in line to get your photo taken. There is plenty to look at nearby as well! Don’t forget to run the steps and enjoy the view of the city!
R Simplicityh
Go midweek late in the evening. There’s no lines to take pictures and it’s easier to find parking.
Fabian Raygosa
There is a beautiful museum right there ... but who cares I want to see Rocky. Its weird how our culture is. Fiction over history. But still it goes to the amazing impact this movie and actor has over society and the respect he has garnered there.
Definitely still a lively attraction.
Dimitri Ivanoff
One of iconic places in Philly. Couple notes: 1. Use ihop-bus or Uber&Lyft to get there - basically no parking. 2. Plan to be early morning, otherwise waiting line 30+ minutes. 3. Can combine with Art Museum visit.
Michael Bowtell
I went twice in early April and both times there was no queue, there was a guy there but he was pleasant and just chatted and had t-shirts on sale. Compared to when I came here maybe 5 years ago, there was a long queue and some awful man putting pressure on us for him to take a photo with our phones. Very uncomfortable, and he obviously wanted some cash. But yeah, this time was nice!
True Review
The Rocky Statue is a must visit when visiting Philly or if you live here. Sure, you’ve seen the movie, so, you understand why you need to see this. It’s in a nice area near the Art Museum and “Rocky Steps”. Sometimes there is a short wait but the line moves quickly. Take pictures and pose.
Danielle
Beautiful outdoor tourist attraction. We were able to walk from Lowe’s Philadelphia Hotel on Market St. (City Center). My 15-year-old son enjoyed running up the steps like Rocky.
Anwar Hossain
In 1980, Sylvester Stallone contacted A. Thomas Schomberg at his Colorado studio to create the statue of ROCKY for the movie "ROCKY III".
Sylvester Stallone had a very clear vision of what he wanted the statue of ROCKY to portray. ROCKY, the iconic hero, is poised with his arms over his head to represent the stage in his career when he is the victor.
Except for several temporary placements at the Philadelphia Museum of Art during the filming of the "ROCKY" movies, the statue was installed at the Spectrum Sports Complex, which according to the movie, was the location of the boxing events.
The ROCKY statue was finally returned to the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 2006 with the help and foresight of James (Jimmy) Binns and thousands of Philadelphians. This iconic statue now stands on a grassy knoll adjacent to the famous steps leading to the museum, where visitors from around the globe enjoy it today.
In Jimmy's words, "The statue signifies that anything is possible, so long as you keep persevering. It signifies personal victory, that's what it stands up for...personal victory."
Ashley Fusco
I'm from Philadelphia so I can see the Rocky Statue whenever, but it was awesome to see Rocky decorated in Eagles green.
Chris6d
If you're into Rocky at all, wait in the line to snap your picture, and that's about it. Also climb up the steps next door for some epic views of the city.
Richard van Daal
Nice experience to have gone up all the steps where Rocky Balboa Sylvester Stallone went up!! We felt like the greatest!! Also beautiful view to the city from the highest point. Taking photos should be controlled by some company or the government (I think)..
Boris Nad
Iconic statue of Rocky.
A must see spot for tourists.
Yif Yif
Put on the "Rocky" theme tune on and re-create the famous scene! I didn't see one person 'walk' up those steps - from young kids to grandparents - all ran or jogged up them.
The statue is now located to the bottom right of the famous steps.
A 'must see' for any boxing fans or film buffs!
Laura Fullerton
It’s a great landmark but be warned, scam people work there during the day, don’t give them ur phone or cameras. I saw one guy drop someone’s expensive camera and cracked someone’s phone when taking their picture (they don’t care). They stand in-front of the statue and charge you to take your photo but only after they offer. If you say no to them taking your picture they then annoy you by getting in your shots or by pushing other tourists into photos so that you can’t get a clear view. After waiting in a long line of tourists for 15min to get a photo, it’s beyond a joke for some con artist to stop you.
Mario Alvarado
Come on it's Sylvester Stallone as the famous Rocky! Great time, fun to pose with.
Louis “Short Reviews” Short
Loved the quick stop. We didn't go to the art museum, but that was fine. Loved the history and the short visit.
Manny Pesto
Must see if you visit the area. Could not find Adrian tho lol
D P
A metal statue reminding of the Rocky Stallone movie.
A TRUTH PRODUCTION
Great place to visit and take a pic with the famous Rocky Statue and run up the steps! The Rocky Statue is at the bottom of the steps to the right. The view at the top of the steps is beautiful. There isn't any parking here so most people either walk here or double park and take turns taking pictures.
Adrianne Sanogo
Philadelphia Boat house row is iconic and the people are amazing. I absolutely loved volunteering for the Schuylkill Navy.
Luke Mahaney
I remember watching the rocky movies with my father growing up, so just being next to this statue made me emotional. My wife and I went to Philly with this attraction being on the top of the list. We did have to wait in line for about 15 minutes but it was worth the wait!
Abhishek Tiwari
Grew up watching Rocky movies. A kid from India, never thought could make it here in the US but I got my shot and took it. US really is a land of opportunities. Rocky is and always will be my biggest Hero and Motivation
Dana Nunez
Great to finally see it in person. And so close to many other attractions such as the art museum. Beautiful scenery all around the area and wild life.
Prabha Shankar
It’s free, right near to the steps of the Philadelphia museum of arts. Go in the evening to avoid the long queue and week days is perfect time. Nothing big of Thais statue but a nice recollection of the movie and city respects the ideology.
Parker Magoo
Down and to the right from the Rocky Steps. There was a big line when we first walked up, so we did the steps first, and when we came back there were only a few people in front of us. Definitely a fun thing to do, and easy to get to. Lots of free parking just a short walk away.
Brennan McGilvray
Took about 10 minutes to get through the line for a picture. There was a marching band that showed up when we arrived. We waited for them to play the Rocky theme and then ran up the stairs. Felt just like Apollo and Rock running on the beach in number 3. There are a bunch of fitness freaks constantly running the stairs.
Marcin Tandecki
Iconic statue from an iconic movie!
If you've seen the movie, many parts of Philadelphia will be at least somewhat memorable and recognizable to you. This statue commemorates the epic movie.
Yviv Studios
Not a bad thing but, went during the summer and, noticed there was always a line of tourists taking pics posing like the Rocky Statue. Be prepared to wait a bit if you want your pic taken with the statue. Philadelphia is a gorgeous place.
Ramon Maisonet
This was a little bit of a disappointment. First, the Rocky statue is located at the bottom to the right, feels like it should be at the top. And the steps lead you up to the back of the museum if you pay ($15) to park across from the museum. As you would expect, there are droves of people who run up the steps (myself included) to do the Rocky pose. Very cool to see people actually doing whole workouts at the top of the steps. Obviously, if you are in Philadelphia, you gotta do the statue, but it's not an experience that's going to overwhelm you.
Ike Maro
What is there to say about one of the greatest inspirational movies of all time? I've only seen it about 10,000 times!
ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! (Beautiful Art nearby, steps away)
Timothy Hagerty
Statue of Rocky next to steps. There was some annoying dude pretending to be Rocky and could have done without that
Timothy Morgan
it's a cute little statue of Rocky and for the older generation this is probably a top tourist destination for Philly. It is just a statue but it is located on a beautiful park and right next to the art Museum so you can see other things as well as the Rocky statue
Eliezer Heredia
Very nice area and nice place where you can be part of One of the most historical movies "Rocky". Keep in mind that this place is always crowded and one fact I didn't know before is that is drone friendly which I missed. You can enjoy the area from all angles.
Craig De Columbian
Took a weekend road trip to Philly...grabbed a bite to eat and stopped by the Rock statue ! Very clean but busy Park , due to COVID-19 there weren't many vendors out selling goods.
Adam Uchimoto
The iconic Rocky Balboa statue paying homage to the classic movie is a must visit in Philadelphia. The lines can be long during the day but a picture here is worth it. After, make sure to run up the art museum stars playing the Rocky theme song, as you punch through the air, pretending you are Sylvester Stallone!
G Aquino
The Rocky statue was surprisingly unremarkable. I had expected it to be larger and grander. It could also have been placed in a more conspicuous location, within the immediate vicinity of the steps and the museum. We visited in the early evening and there was a long but orderly queue.
Jon Thederahn
Must see in Philly
It was moved from the top of the stairs to a street side small park many years ago.
Always stop by. Art Museum is awesome
(Just up those stairs)
Rob Jelinski
Rocky fans near and wide gather around for a selfie with this statue and to instagram running the famous steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. *Note: the statue is off the side a little and not at the top of the steps
Andrea A
Massive line when we went on a Saturday. There was plenty people watching the tourist pose w rocky lol. Think Disneyland seeing a character
Daniel Choi
Nice, scenic, good for younger children to play and run around, limited parking.
Mary Waldman
Four starts ONLY because it is no longer at the top of the Art Museum steps. Perhaps not the best example of contemporary sculpture it brings true joy to so many people. The Art Museum couldn't wait to get rid of it and saw attendance plummet, then they brought it back and tucked it into a site just to the right of the steps if you're facing the museum. It's been over 40 years since the original Rocky and people are still running up the steps and doing their victory dance. This is a DO NOT MISS.
Greg McCoy
So cool!! Fictitious character that becomes a city icon. As a huge Rocky fan all my life this was so cool too be at. Small line - a guy that I don't think officially worked there kept it in fast order and took pics. I was happy to tip him for being useful even if it was unofficial work haha
Venus
🥊“It's not how hard you hit, it's how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward — that's how winning is done.”
Dedicated to “the great city of Philadelphia & brotherhood of its people.” …

Definitely wearing boxing gloves but nipples were not to scale at all. Would see again.
Raunak Choudhary
My husband’s dream Place..We always wanted to come here and today we lived that dream..
Such a beautiful place but Parking is always a problem.
Helen V
Another location that was one of the 2st places i visited when I came to Philly. Got a new updated photo of Rocky. Must say the place is a bit more cleaner , unfortunately there are some ppl that just like to scribble on top of stuff that it's part of the city. I was Soo annoyed by it and disgusted how ppl are acting like animals and no regards to city property.
Rahul Goyal
After having been a rocky fan for almost 2 decades, it has been a pleasure to be with rocky statue.
For now the parking lot was closed in absence of attendant. So some vehicles were parked over there.
There was a long line to take pictures with statue.
BuĞrA BoZTePe
Cool little statue. If you’re walking around, definitely recommend stopping by and also running up the stairs. Watched a few of the movies, and a big fan, so it was awesome to finally see it in person.
Lilia villa
Have you seen the "Rocky" movies? Then you gotta come by this place! So much fun being there and seeing everyone putting their hands up like rocky. Waited about 10 minutes in line for a picture but really worth it.
Cory Matthew
What can I say that already hasn’t been said about this iconic statue. Rocky was standing tall ready to knockout any tourist who dared to touch his chiseled legs.
The Rocky Statue is a must-see.
Chevy Gaming Entertainment
Very nice Experience! The Museum was also a great experience. Had lots of fun, definitely would recommend this place if you've never been here!
Dark Impact
The walk was nice getting to the statue. It is a nice walk and if you are into geography the flags that dot the street from City Hall is kind of cool. Other than that it is a meh experience and somewhat of what’s the big deal here? I think if someone is into Rocky they will like it otherwise it is just for Instagram posers.
S Mukherjee
Yo! Adrian, I did it. Finally got to see the icnic Rocky Statue of Philadelphia. In my opinion it should have been left at the top of the steps though. It’s located to the right side of the steps and is visible easily enough but hey! if somebody listening, please campaign to get it moved back up on top of the steps, where it belongs.
Mico Popovic
Whoever is in love with Rocky movies , this place needs to be on your bucket list ! Philly itself is beautiful city and I can see why they choosed to place the story inside this city ! Stairs and statue give an extra feeling to step inside the movie for a sec !
Matt Wrz3
Hard to park nearby, but fairly accessible. Took 3 minutes to wait in line for a picture. Friendly people nearby.
Alejandro Perez
After watching the movies for over 30 years I was able to see the Rocky Statue and run the stairs! The view from the Art Museum is very nice.
Warren Ng
You can't not love this iconic location.
Who dares give this less than a 5 star?!
Movie bucket list ✅
Kevin Johnson
It's the Rocky Statue. Not sure how you can negatively review it. Great for post-half marathon running 🤙
Damian Flyte
It’s a must see! Very clean and safe area. People are super nice and will help take your picture in front of the statue. This is a must see when in Philly!
Tarun Yadav
Located by the Museum of Art. Queue to get a selfie taken. Worth it though.
Gerry Wical
Neat to see wife and i was excited to see but the kids not so much .
Leslie Hawes
Long line but it went fast. Awesome chance to experience a little piece of Philadelphia.
Michael Uy
I wish I came to see this when it was still at the top of the steps. Then it would've been five stars.
Its a good quirky stop if you're doing the tourist thing in Philly. If see it AFTER you pretend to run up the steps.
Adrian Roach
If you’ve seen the movies you need to see the actual statue. It’s been moved from the top of the steps to the bottom and to the side but it’s legendary wherever it is
Isacc Oleta Argil
I was so happy for visit this place, is just amazing!! All the Rocky fans needs to see this beautiful place!
Mattias Zackrisson
The statue is located right next to the ’Rocky steps’. I don’t know if this is always the situation, but when I visited in April 2022, there were some shady persons hanging around the statue probably looking to scam tourists and visitors. They were not hostile, but something was definitely fishy.
Avik Dutta
An interesting place. If you are Rocky movie fan the. You must visit. Its just outside of Philadelphia museum of Art north entrance. In Rocky 3 movie, Rocky runs in the morning and then ends his run infront of the Philadelphia museum of art and make the fist gestures. People take pictures infront of it posing as Rocky.
Mauricio Pretto
Very nice statue donated by Stalone him self to honor the people of Phily
Kory Alden
What a perfect way to end a trip to Philadelphia. The statue is as amazing as you think it would be and I’m happy they kept it here. Highly recommend coming.
Cheryl Galowitch
Took a tour of Philadelphia with an co-worker from out of town. Had to stop at this iconic statue.
Josh Gilmore
Be ready to wait in line for a photo, and bring a few bucks to give the guys offering to take your picture. They are there and you definitely know it but they are cool of you say no thanks. A must for any rocky fan. Afterwards make sure you run up the steps just like in the movie.
Lisseth Fernandez
Awesome to visit the place but beware of one of the men by the Rocky statue. He will keep insisting in taking a picture of your group and if you say no, he will get upset and start saying discriminatory comments. He shouldn't be there annoying everyone. Otherwise this unpleasant moment everyone and everything else was great! Parking is good on Sundays across the streets, $3.50 for 2 hrs by using the app (ParkMobile)
Marc Kobrin
A must visit for Rocky fans. Took photos with no fuss, only a few people around.
Kenneth Eads
It's the Rocky Statue!
CHI
Rocky Statue is so cool! I like boxing a lot!
Adilson
Good place for visit
Traveler
Rock Fans flock to this Statue, so there is almost always a long line, in order to take a picture. Parking is very limited
Rob Williams
It's on ground level and there's plenty of free parking nearby so swing by and have a look. Pretty cool.
Solace T
Am I the only one who thought the statue was after the steps? Anyway, I went, took pictures...then almost died trying to run up the steps. Couldnt even make it half way b4 I gave up and walked. It was fun to try though.
Ernie “and” Joanne
Oh what a day. 25 miles from Oaks PA via Schuylkill River Trail. 50 round trip. Rocky gave me a hi 10. Lol
Grant Jeans
The Rocky Statue is a very popular attraction. You may have to queue if visiting during the day at the weekend.
Juan Giraldo BI Analysts
Ohh I've been so excited he's my favorite actor
Florian Scheffel
A must see for rocky fans ❣️❣️❣️ 🥊
LORMC NATION
Amazing movies of an underdog story that is forever part of history! This status is a big part of that along with many locations in Philadelphia.
Thank you,

I absolutely love this icon of Philly culture. Just disappointed that the statue isn’t at the top of the steps, but I am here to rate the statue and not where it is. “Officials” claim it isn’t art but that statue symbolizes an iconic fictional character who represents hard work and perseverance that everyone from Philly recognizes instantly.
Vivacious Dante
Let’s go!
DaChanster PutiPuerco
It's an awesome view to see Philadelphia and relive the rocky moments.
Adair José Dienstmann Junior
The statue could be in a better location around the museum.
Geoff Smith
Watched the movies as a kid so to finally see this spot in person was a great experience. The view from the top of the steps is one to see. I paid $15 for parking which allowed very close access to the site.
Ronnie Ayres
Philly icon and now our super bowl day tradition to visit before every Eagles super bowl! Go Birds!
Daniel Niven
Cool for photos.
J. C.
If you loved the Rocky or Creed movies you want to visit this spot.
KEN CLY
Didn’t go inside the building just walked up the steps and took a photo with the rocky statue.
Yvonne Ratiu
I can't believe I walked up the Steps of one of my favorite movie of all Time. Philly alone is a city that makes you Strong. Its so diverse and I am Happy I chose to go, take someone its a beautiful site of the city. I can't say enough just Go there!!!
DaFordKid Films
How awesome this is to see with Rocky in the background. So cool and right in Philadelphia.
Anais
Very nice area and not crowded whatsoever. Was very annoyed by the hustlers trying to make money out of taking your picture. They don't let you enjoy the view. I would of enjoyed police in that are to keep the area more enjoyable. I know you have to live, but if your such a good hustler get a job and hustle like the rest of us.
Turbo HEART
I've always wanted to visit this great iconic statue since I was a kid. It's awesome. And theres other historical statues near by that are beautiful.
BTW- Was heckled a little bit by some homeless men asking for $$ tips to take pics, just be nice and decline.
Stoic Heart & Mind
The statue is cool, but last time I was there, a couple of people were basically charging to have us take pics with it. They were "friendly", accosting us and asking for money, almost forcing us to "hire" them to take our pics for us. I understand the need to make money, however that's not the right way of doing it, by taking over something public
Zaur “BiZaGe” Biganov
Good place for amazing foto with legend.

You need to take a picture in front of the rocky statue when you are in Philly
Žygimantas Gūra
Worth visiting for all Rocky fans! Be ready to wait in line for a couple of minutes to take a pic.
Kevin Harris
Plenty of parking and super clean around the area
A Mac
The longest line ever ti take a picture with Rocky. Haha 😆
I wasn’t trying to take a picture with a statue since i’ve never even watched the movie. But I did run up the stairs and pose like him😅(that’s what i heard from the people there) 😬 …
N JJJ
Its worth a visit if you're in the area. I'm glad I did!
Ebonyeyes
I have been here probably five times. Recently May 2021. Every time I go to Philadelphia I always go to this site. I have seen all the movies and love every single one of them.
Akanksha Sinha
One of the iconic attraction of Philly...locals or tourist all make sure to click pictures and selfies with the statue...
Matt Peppes
A must see if your visiting Philly! The statue makes for a great picture with the museum behind it.
Marissa Wilkins
Quick stop on the Philly tour. Take a picture with the statue and climb the museum steps to see the whole mall.
BGS
The statue is well made and makes you take a minute to appreciate the reason why it's there. There are long lines pretty much every single day, but just make sure you visit it before 9am and you'll be golden.
Paul Wozniak
A Philly classic. After running up the stairs run back down and to the side to visit Rocky because the museum snobs didn't want it at the top of the stairs anymore.
Adriana Jm
It was nice but I had to make a 30 min line to take the picture tho, I don't know f it is always like that!
TED
I just came here to see the statue and run up the rocky stairs. This is the sacred place! (Dec, 2019)
Roberta Forney
Nice! Great location and fun time
Aidan Green
A must visit for every rocky fan!
charles thilking
Placed for persons of all capacity to enjoy.
Heather Rushton
It was okay. It is a statue with a tourist trap. I did not like the pushy locals begging for tips. They do not officially work there so you are not obligated to tip them. Have other people in line take your picture for you.
Elmer Cueva
Rocky film setting in Philadelphia very cold. Sylvester Stallone- keep punching
Efstathia Kalapothakos
No longer at the top of the steps but of course we did the steps for nostalgia purposes. Rocky statue is kept up well and easily accessible for all to be able to take photo. Parking was easy the day we went but the museum was closed for holiday.
The GOOD Now
WE LOVE PHILADELPHIA! This statue and this story are part of our history and our heritage! It reminds us to always fight for what we believe in and NEVER give up! PROVE THEM WRONG!
Originally created for a scene in Rocky III, the sculpture is a real-life monument to a celluloid hero who endures as a favorite fictional son of the City of Brotherly Love. Visiting the statue, running up the steps and taking a picture at the top, arms-raised in victory is a must on any first visit to Philadelphia.
Slippery Weasel
A great place for a photo opportunity, just have to be patient as it can get busy.
Avi
It's for the fans, immense statue of an immense character. The lines can be a a bit of wait, and you're put under pressure to get your photos in quickly. So don't expect to spend too much time with Mr Balboa.
Joseph Braye
Nice make sure you check the footprint at the top of the stairs
Clifford Wood
Watch out for people offering to take your phone and take photos for you; sometimes they "insist" on being tipped before returning your phone. Just be safe and don't let loose of anything you can't afford to lose.
Abdullah Alsahafi
It's okay. Just know there is going to be a somewhat long line of tourists waiting to take photos with the statue.
Show Time
If your a rocky fan this is a must see! I walked down Benjamin Franklin Pkwy which is worth the walk to the scene of a school bus full of kids running up the stairs of the museum just like Rocky. Lots of energy. The statue sits next to the museum. A line had formed to stand next to the statue but went real fast. Too cool
Dennis Hohnholz
Visited early in the morning without public
Ben Park
Statue by the iconic stairs from the movie. People say it’s cringy to run up and down the stairs or pose in front of the statue, but, so what? Nothing wrong with that.
Keith Roussel
So, it is the Rocky Statue. It is interesting because it is from the movie, but other than that it is nothing special. It is conveniently located near the street and not up on the steps like I thought. The problem is that there are way too many people coming here for a photo. There was a line going down the street and around the corner. It is nice that there was someone here to help facilitate the photographs as people posed, but there was no way I was going to wait in that line in the heat. I was able to walk up along side the line and snap a few shots and a selfie between group-shots without intervening with the line.
Alexander McHattie
I love The Rocky (and all he did to bring down the downfall of communism in the ring, and Afghanistan), and I also love statues, and Rocky. So am excited to visit this, but better would be a bigger one in Kabul!!!
Jason Hatfield
Great seeing a great piece of art movie prop.
James Ozzie Osborne
When in Philly this area should be on every visitors itinerary (and not just the Rocky statue or library). Really nice place to wander around with plenty of museums and churches. Grab a bike if possible and cycle around, bike friendly museum quarters. And of course run up those Rocky steps if you're fit and able, for sure you'll see plenty of others doing it.
T- Terminator
If you are a True Sylvester Stallone Fan this is a place you need to Visit... ✔ on Bucket list...😃👍🥊🥊 …
Paul P
Excellent piece of movie history. Plan on taking 10 minutes or so to get your photo with the statue. If you are like me and just want the statue's photo, then stand off to the side on the sidewalk and you can get a great shot as people swap out for their photos.
MERICA GAMES (MERICAN MAN)
Is and will always be the most incredible thing I’ve seen. This is what American value is. Don’t we have some rights? Who has the right to stop you? Not the democrats. Make the change! Stop Joe Biden and the people that control him. Don’t let our county fall. What will be left? Stand tall.
Melania D
Must do when in Philly, loved it.Rocky fans and Philly was beautiful
Behzad Taimur
Right next to Philadelphia's Art Museum is this iconic statue that celebrates Stallone's Rocky in his victory pose. Yes, art is worth you attention. But, Rocky is art too. If it wasn't it wouldn't have achieved the iconic status that it did.
Pilgrimage to the Rocky Statue - therefore - is a pilgrimage upon art!
Rubayat Islam
The sculpture based on the fictional character famous rocky balboa. People blvs that the film rocky was based on a true story. I was among that grp a few days ago when a friend of mine confronted my mistake.
Michael Byrne
Incredible experience to see such an iconic piece of film history!
Topher Ellis
Let's just put it this way... the Statue was on top of the stairs in front of the Museum for a very long time. Then, some snowflake decided that its not art so they moved the statue to the sports park away from the museum. Guess what happened?... Museum attendance dropped in half. All the snowflakes decided to bring the statue back to the museum and the attendance to the museum bounced back. One can appreciate both Pop culture and Van Gogh. Its now to the right of the landmark stairs and everyone enjoys running the stairs and then go over to take photos of the statue. Kids and adults love to take photos with Rocky.
Nevin Marshall
Was fun and there is a nice lady saling drinks
Cristina Uribe
It is one of the main attractions of Philadelphia. I loved this
ABRAHAM MORANTE
Great, with the exception of the "Fake event staff" member taking people's money to take their pictures. He isnt pushy, but will praise how amazing his pictures come out. Gets really salty when you take your own. He does add some comic relief to his saltiness with his duck whistle to the rocky tune!
Pat Novoa
Fun. Running/walking up the famous Rocky steps feeling like Rocky himself.
Vincent Cardella
Such a great movie and inspiration but they should have stopped after the first one. I know they tried to get the statue moved but I think it is in the perfect location.
Pauly C. (Paul)
Love the Rocky movies and this statue! But my beef with it is people of Philly (on the Internet) get easily offended when it’s messed with. It’s when somebody touches it, puts opposing sports team memorabilia on it or stands next to it, and etc. For Pete’s sake, it’s a statue of a fictitious character! Lighten up... [Also I have never been here or to Philly.]
Sahil Singh
Seeing statue of a childhood hero was amazing. Although I felt that the statue isn't given a central place in the museum of art.
The statue is right next to Philadelphia museum of art. So when going to see this statue, you may set the museum as destination as it will be easier to spot from the road. Do read the text written on the metallic plaque at the bottom of the statue.
Tourist & Guide
Very nice. Good history

#1 on my bucket list
SGP Versluis
Cool to do when you're in Philly and loved the Rocky movie.
Geeg Wiles
"He is much taller in real life ..." -Captain Ahab
J. S.
Statue itself is great, but there are no lights at this place at all. I wish they could have at least couple of lights put on the statue so that it would be well lit. Right now when it becomes dark, the statue stands in complete darkness
Denise Zavala
Fun place to take pictures! The museum of art next door had alot of people running up and down the stairs like Rocky did and there's was live music at the bottom as people danced. A must see in Phila
Julie Xiao
This is probably the most popular tourist attraction in Philadelphia. There are always so many tourists here so you either have to go early in the morning or late in the evening. Also, everyone seems to want to take a picture by the statue and then race up the steps Rocky style. You can also carry a dog like Rocky but there's 72 steps so good luck with that. There's a nice view of City Hall and the city of Philadelphia from the top of the steps.
Ryan Kevern
Cool to see, but someone was trying to make money by taking pictures for people. This woman was directing a line and taking people's phones and posing them, then asking for tips. It's nice having someone take the photo but I could easily ask someone if I wanted.
Mark Jackson
The rocky statue is a Philly icon. It has nothing to do with history or art. It used to stand atop the famous stairs of the art Museumthat Rocky ran up, but is now next to the stairs at the bottom, which is a little disappointing. Expect to stand in line to have your picture taken with it from anywhere from 5 min to 30 min depending on how many tour buses arrive in front of you.
Jason Cadell
The Rocky Statue, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy, Philadelphia, PA 19130 is absolutely massive. It sits directly to the right of the Rocky Steps at the bottom. Once you get up close you realize just how really large this Rocky statue is. I'd say it's worth stopping to look and take some photos of this iconic statue.
maria luna
Pretty amazing I ran up the stairs almost made it ran out of breath but enjoyed every step to the top felt the energy as if I was Rocky lol me and my sisters couldn’t stop laughing cause I fell to the ground just as I almost reached the last steps
Rip.and.Destroy
This statue is a true one of a kind work of art. It is free to visit and very easy to get to. A. Thomas Schomberg is the sculpter and Sylvester Stallone also has one of these in his private collection. A definite must see when in Philadelphia. 🥊👁🐯 …
Marlon Ramos
I had to come out here and it was totally worth it for the pictures. I was lucky and there was someone assisting with taking pictures and setting you up for poses. She was great and I would definitely recommend some cash to tip her.
Junaid O
Perfect location to see Philadelphia.
Rosie Trejo
Nice walk and beautiful view
Vic “Vic StayFit” Whitehead
Epic, if you're a fan, definitely a must see!
Scott Ahlers
"For Stallone, Rocky’s ascent to the top of the steps is symbolic of Philadelphia, a city where an underdog can become a champion through hard work, determination, and hustle" I couldn't agree more, this Statue means a lot of different things to different peoole. It is great to see it here
Robert McCormick
The Rocky statue was controversial in its placement. Over the years it has bounced from the top of the steps (where the character actually ran) to the Spectrum (sports complex in south philly where the fight was supposed to happen - not filmed there) to its current place at the foot of the stairs. Ultimately, it is a movie prop surrounded by some of the finest works of art in the country. Check them both out.
Ben Waters
Just do it - bring a bluetooth speaker and have the Rocky Anthem playing as you run up the steps with everyone else following you! So many people running up the steps! Thing photo's in front of the statue - its great to see people living out their dreams, bringing out their inner child and enjoying life!
You could go all upperty about an attraction like this but the truth is - it doesn't matter and no one really cares. Seeing people line up for the statue to grab a photo - even in the snow! is something that really just goes to show that this city is really larger than life.
Ben Virden
The statue and the stairs are awesome to see in person! Three stars because of the epicness of both...would give it more, however, there were street vendors/homeless guys/con artists that basically blocked the entry way to the statue and demanded money for taking your picture in front of it, didn't give anybody a chance to take a pic for themselves or without other people in the background/foreground. That ruined the experience for me and my fiance a bit. The city should prevent this.
Angelina Creighton
It's cool to see, we were in and out. But after we left and drove by it there was a huge line. So the wait is hit or miss. The parking is absolutely horrible, and we went on a Wednesday at 11am.
Alejandro Correal
The place is an impressive tourist stop, not only for the history envolved but by the surrounding are that has many other activities to do. I strongly recommend to visit this place.
Aaron Phillippi
I love rocky. A must see for all
Spenser Villwock
Yo, Adrianne, this statue doesn’t look like Sly, but is amazing because it’s Rocky.
William Alexander Munguia-guzman
Nice place to spend the day.
But, be ready. Everything is so expensive!! Food, drinks, tolls, etc.
JoEllen Jackson
Nice place to visit. The steps are a good work out. They also have a statue of Rocky where you can take a pictures next to it.
BRUCIFER’S WAY!
Hey Yo rocko what are you doin down here? This is the place where they put rocky and he stands tall guarding the art museum. The statue was made for the rocky 3 film and was placed in several locations before being finally dropped here near the steps where the real rocky balboa was honored. Sometimes sylvester stallone will show up and sign autographs!
Himadri Choudhury
Quite a queue to get your picture taken in front of Rocky.
If you are here, you are probably here mostly to go to the nearby museum.
You get some very nice views of downtown from the steps of the Museum.
Ashley Sanichar
Iconic and inspiring just being there!
Mark Henninger
Obviously one of the most iconic spots in the city, this statue is a statue of Rocky Balboa. Come here to get your Rocky pose photo. This is the real deal, in front of the art museum
Josh E.
If you're a fan of the films, stopping by here is a must! The statue isn't overly large but still impressive and worth seeing while in Philly.
T AA
Great tourist spot. On weekends expect a line but everything is organized. Right next door are the "rocky steps" from the scene of the movie.
Leandro Coronel
Nice place for a photo
James Morrissey
It was worth a couple bucks to have one of the “official” photographers take our picture, they suggested all the poses as even provided a soundtrack and jokes
Laure Stone
There was a line to take pictures with the Rocky Statue. Everyone in line was polite and friendly. There was a guy who wanted money to help you take pictures with the statue. Most people were ignoring him. He was somewhat of a pest.
Dj Stasify
Must to visit in Philadelphia. I love Rocky too, so I might be biased.
Jim Harris
I love Rocky and Philly, but I want people to know: The great Joe Frazier was the real Rocky. I suppose it is better that Joe's likeness is not subject to the abuse of pigeons.
Trenton Daniels
Finally got to make this off my bucket list
Kevin Finlay
Nowhere to park on the street nearby. Parking garage far away. Long line of people waiting to take a picture. Typical tourist trap. This is Philadelphia, don't get towed
Ken
Maybe about a 15-20 minute wait to get in front of the statue. But it's the 4th of July so more than normal crowd.
Craig Kopra
Who does not love this amazing fictitious underdog? Now in statue format!
Grab an image of the Rocky statue and then afterwards run up the nearby steps. Even if you do not run, when those steps call you then you better answer until you get to the top.
David Hernadez
A bit sad they moved the statue to the side of the stairs instead at the top but I liked the up beat atmosphere that everyone had. I highly recommend everyone at least visit it once.
ALMA ELIZABETH Valadez
Nice spot dor pics
TRU J
Got to live out my childhood dream. Running the stairs and seeing the foot prints on top. Awesome view from the top.
Erick Gago
Rocky. This was so surreal to have run and walked the steps where rocky was filmed. Beautiful place. Loved it
Walt Martineau
Not where you are expecting it to be and it's too busy with photo ops for there to be an opportunity to really examine it
Allyson Brevetti
Rocky fan or not, stop to take a picture. Coolest statue. I'm a huge fan of the Rocky movies, so I loved this. Plus it's located in a beautiful part of Philadelphia.
Owen
Breathtaking!! I love dis place... Seeing my iconic actor's statue was like seeing him

Very touristic. If you are Rocky fans you have to visit this place. After I visited this place I saw Rocky I again especially the scenes when he walked up through the steps 😁 …
Matthew Gray
Pretty dope not too crowded good time and views plenty of bars within walking distance
Danielle Weiss
Brings back childhood memories. It’s exciting every time. I love looking at the steps of the Art Museum and lose myself in that moment of the movie every time.
Mr. Malloy
Rocky the GREATEST OF TIME ‼️
Cristobal Quiroz
Finally got to visit. The line to get a photo was short. The area where it's located is nice.
Majed Alashari
If you a fan of that movie go to get a photo.
Cynthia Staples
Yeah this is a touristy thing to do... So what! Get in line and strike the obligatory pose. Afterwards run up the steps and drink raw eggs in his honor. Don't be a wousy.
Dez B1
There will be lines. It's actually fun watching people strike boxing poses and do sit-ups n' all when they get to the statue.
Daniel S
Beautiful place I love it just remember Jesus Christ is alive and I love Him so much that I don't change Him for nothing I love youuuuuuuu Jesus.
Andrey K
Great place for a photo if you're a tourist. You can find Rocky's footprints at the top of the Museum steps.... thats also a great photo spot.
Arriel Vinson
Love how close this is to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and other sites. There was a short line for photos, but it took no more than 5 minutes. It was larger than I thought!
Monique Comer
Didn't get to stop because of traffic and parking but I got to see him from the car.
Don't forget to check out Penn's landing and Will Smith Mural.

Philly is such an amazing place to visit. Traffic is heavy but the views are breathtaking. The architecture is so beautiful.
Rita Poss
Great to see what so many people from around the world come to pose with and run up the museum steps just like in the movie
Brian Robertson
only 4 STARS as it belongs at the top of the stairs but still great to see and dare I say more famous than the actual museum!
Michael Greer
There's a lot of shade around this statue, so there's not a lot of light once the sun goes down.
pankaj kumar
Hollywood having such an impact on a place..people visiting to philly downtown do get to this place..nice view of the city..I would recommend this for your trip in philly

Damir Tadić

Malachi Nelson
Was nice and empty when I went in the middle of the afternoon so I didn't have to wait to get a picture of the statue which was nice. My picture can tell you more about the statue than I can.
Lynn
Beautiful location. Do not park at the museum! We payed 34$ for 15 minutes. No signs anywhere with price.
Ronald Corey
Not sure who told the t-shirt vendors to control the picture line.
Anyway...it's cool though.
Tyler O.
Come see the man, the myth, the legend. A photo doesn't do justice to seeing it in person. You'll never regret this visit.
Louis Keser
It's a statue of Rocky. Good spot for tourist photos.
anonomys1985
I went when it was dark and wet, but still awesome. The stairs weren't hard to run tho lol.
Heike Yates
If you love the movie than this is a must. Not much around than it the stairs, statue but a great view of the city.
Adrian P
Worth a stop for a quick photo. Then right beside it you can run up the same steps that Stallone ran up as Rocky.
johnny astacio
Always wanted to go here & right after Max's i came here.... only thing will be the obvious, trying to find parking & hell of bums asking you to take a photo of you in exchange for change.

The statue weighs about 800 pounds, and it's famous from one of the most successful film franchises in the USA.
Zaid Zia
The statue is not in it's original spot at the top of the steps. It's been moved to bottom right of the steps, if your facing the museum.
