Reviews of Brooklyn Botanic Garden

As of 04/30 Cherry blossoms 🌸 are at peak, so visit as soon as possible if you want to catch them. There will always be other gorgeous flowers after the blossoms come down. Plan to spend at least 90 minutes and note some days they close at 6 pm.
Beautiful flowers that can leave you mesmerized and calm you down. The conservatory is a must visit with plants from all over the world (tropics, dessert, bonsai etc). They have a free guided tour from 1-2 pm and also have multiple eateries inside along with gift shops and restrooms.
Great place for everyone to come, unwind, enjoy and relax. Students get discounted tickets at $12. There are also a lot of fast food restaurants just outside the garden.

A beautiful garden and well maintained. There is something for everyone. My favorite was Japanese Garden and Cherry Lane. So beautiful and serene. Though it was Early spring, but there were beautiful flowers. Greenhouse had variety of Orchids, and other tropical plants. It was a fun visit and I would surely want to visit again.

Great time to visit botanical garden now ! The Sakura trees are still in full Bloom. it was wonderful To walk through the alleys. It's like you are in Wonderland : the ground is pink with petals , the trees are in full Bloom, the sky is blue and the sun is shining. What else do you need ? And amazing tulips that look like peonies! And the Japanese garden with its beautiful pond! There's so many places That I like...

It is a magical place, especially as nightfall approaches. The whole place is filled with fireflies like fallen stars…it’s truly a hidden gem tucked away in the city. The fragrance garden and Japanese gardens are some must sees and if you time it right, the Gardens are a great place to listen to music and attend concerts. Everything about this place radiates peace and serenity and I will certainly go back to see more.

We thought it would be an hour to kill but ended up rushing near closing! For $18 it's more than worth it. You could easily bring food & drink in for a picnic, then wander around before stopping for a drink at the café. The grounds are gorgeous and HUGE so there's so much to explore and do. Couldn't recommend more to go on a good weather day.
Sun Kissed
What a wonderful beautiful place to explore with your kids or even go for a walk as a couple all year round especially during the summer ! I loved how they had everything labeled so if you were interested in getting a plant for your personal garden, you'll know what to ask for when you go to the florist. Will definitely be visiting this garden again and will recommend to others.
Laura Cardenas
I had a lot of fun, despite being winter the place is beautiful for a walk with coffee. the indoors are very different and with a hot environment. The vegetation of the garden is beautiful. I can imagine spring when all those flowers bloom . highly recommended and just one block from the subway station in prospect park.
Katie Y
Beautiful park! Love the bonsai museum and the tropical plants, but the water and plants are lovely. Very enjoyable with my six year old and husband. The food court has some nice choices. The salad was fresh. Hotdog was served on a Martin's potato bun. Excellent blend of indoor and outdoor exhibits.
Qi Wu
Super nice! Every time has different blooming and views. Strong suggested go early with a heavier breakfast. Definitely take enough time for rose garden and The Japanese garden.
Warm houses are amazing too since with different environment plants.
Max Sanchez
Stunning place. A bit more dormant during the winter but I still enjoyed my time in the space. As you walk in, you have the choice to pay what you want, but I opted to pay full price to support the various philanthropic programs they offer to the community. There was a lot see and do. I loved the greenhouses. The guided walks with native history was fun, too.
Beau Bender
This is truly one of the most amazing places to visit in the area. I just came to see the Sakura( Cherry Blossoms) blooming. The say it’s breath taking is not enough. The beauty and exquisiteness of the plants and flower. Tastefully laid out and treated with care. It’s a little paradise in the urban jungle.
L. Fong
Beautiful gardens. Lots to see. Cherry blossoms are currently in bloom. So many amazing trees & large variety of flowers. Singing birds are a bonus. Geese & turtles are a surprise. Japanese folk dancing show was interesting.
Walter Wilkerson
Such a beautiful experience always! I recommend highly becoming a member. You will get your money back from all the perks pretty quickly! There’s an awesome cafe with delicious snacks. The strawberry lemonade is a must try!! They even have brunch now on Saturdays and Sundays. I hope to try it next week! It’s the beginning of cherry blossom blooming season, so it’s the perfect time to go! In the winter, they host a walk through light up experience too!
Omar Zamora-Viera
It was great to see all the cherry trees. Really enjoyed that they had self-guided tours, and the children’s garden was so cool. The conservatory was too crowded and chaotic, it almost ruined the experience at times. The historical Japanese garden was pretty but not serene. Overall, I had a great time admiring the gardens and taking in the information, I just think there could have been more direction overall. Would go back.
Natalia Ilina
It's amazing to have such a beautiful garden in New York!
Very beautiful and well organized The Orchid Show. I really liked it.
After the show, I went to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Shop, which had a
great selection of flowers, books, and souvenirs.
Anna Pagór
It was a very nice day at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Honestly I think it would be great to spend there even the whole day but it was my first visit and I didn’t have that much time. It’s such a beautiful park, next time I’d love to go there with a book and blanket and I’d just chill there for couple of hours.
I was late for cherry blossom (the peak is at the end of April, and you can also check BBG’s website to plan the visit to have the best cherry blossom experience). But even the fact I was so excited to see cherry blossom, I wasn’t disappointed!
Jess Noé
SO beautiful! I’m so glad the conservatory is open again! Educational as well as gorgeous, the perfect spring day visit. Make sure you’ve got at least three hours to really take your time and explore it all.
MIK
So quiet and refreshing. You can spend the whole day just walking in the different gardens. The lace to go if you like fresh air and tranquility. Tickets for adults, US $18 each.
David Clarke
The gardens are well maintained and filled with many interesting plants to observe. Once through the gates you instantly forget you’re in a large city, and everything is peaceful and calm. There are many places to sit and soak up the wonders of nature.
Karaoke Superstar
Well kept garden with different varieties of flora for every season and months.
Tulips, cherry blossoms, roses are popular during their specific blooming times.
Bring snacks and a blanket for a picnic, or a laptop to work when it's nice outside.

Cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Please visit ASAP. $18 per adult for admission tickets. Children under 12 are free. There are three entrances. If you only want to see the cherry blossom, enter from the entrance located on Washington Ave. Free street parking spots are also easily found on Washington Ave. No food or drinks (except bottled water) are allowed in the garden. But there are Cafe and snack Bar beside the greenhouse.
Catherine Introcaso
Even in a blisteringly hot and swampy afternoon this was certainly worth the wander. Excellent collection and an expansive array of exhibits. Loved finding tucked away areas to sit and have respite. Stop by the Canteen for a refreshingly crisp glass of pink lemonade !
v d
Fun place to visit year around. Make sure to visit the greenhouses as there are so awing and amazing plants there. I've never seen such an extensive collection of orchids before and it was cool to see a whole room of them.
Roi Ben Hoor
Can’t get enough of this beautiful place. So beautiful during spring, summer and fall seasons (never been during winter time). So much to see, walking is so easy and the verity of trees is absolutely gorgeous. They also have Japanese gardens which is a must. Prices are convenient, always something is happening in the garden.
Grace Lee
The garden is large and is divided into different themes. Checked out cherry blossom last weekend, pretty stunning. Yet the route is lack of direction and some places are too crowded to enjoy the scenes. It should be a suitable for those who want to relax and take a walk randomly in such a beautiful garden for a couple of hours.
Kundan Sen
This was our second time visiting the garden during the cherry blossom season. Bought the timed tickets in advance and entered early in the day. Paid parking garages within a 10-minute walk. The cherry blossom area was not too crowded early on but started to get really crowded after 10:30 or so on a Saturday.
The blossoms are a treat for the eyes and for the photographer in you. Loved the new high vantage point observation area that gives a view across the entire field.
Stop by the peaceful Japanese pond and garden next to the cherry blossom area before you head out.
Adati Tarfa
Went in late winter/early spring. It is a great location to visit with family, friends, or a date. I will allocate 2 hours to get an immersive experience. There is so much to learn. Also visit the gift shop! There are so many plants are great prices!

Went to the Botanical Garden in the evening for the holiday light show (Nov 2022, $40 per person). There was not a single strand of Christmas lights on trees—mostly spotlights and some neon. Most of the installation art was in no recognizable way related to any holidays I'm familiar with. Nice night for a walk tho.
Deborah Zitomer
Although there was a bit of an ice storm in the NYC area, it paid off when going to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in the winter! The trees looked awesome dressed in ice instead of bare. The conservatory was lovely, divided into different climate zones. I will definitely be back once spring flowers are out. Beautiful place.
David Seabrook
A well presented botanic garden with a good variety of planting environments. The glasshouses are particularly impressive, rivalling Kew for their diversity of habitats. We were lucky enough to visit at peak cherry blossom season (see photos) which is perhaps the best display in the American northeast. We deducted a star as the standard of food in the cafe was disappointing and expensive. Would recommend taking a packed lunch for this one.
Seba Serrano
The most amazing and beautiful walk we did on our honeymoon. Will definitely come back in april for the cherry tree blossoms. The design of this garden is impeccable work, full of details and art integrations that elevate the natural beauty of the endless plants, trees and flowers you can see. A must see if you are going to brooklyn. Consider at least 3 hours if you are visiting, take your time.
elena gonzalez
I went for the light scape experience. The path was safe to walk, nice activity to do with friends and family. There were places to stop and get warm and use the bathroom. Over all nice experience. Glad that the weather was good.
Alexandra Zieminski
Beautiful gardens & grounds, and the winter light show was very fun. The gardens with the spring blooms and the amazing landscaping are an awesome reason to visit in the Spring season, and the winter light installations were a smart way to keep customers coming in the cold months. The lights are unique and the accompanying poetry and music added a nice touch.
Gregory White
Surprisingly spacious. Great variety of plant life, trails and lush green areas.
Lots of bird life, but most are very bashful.
Occasional egret and heron sightings.
Staff is very helpful
Megan Sogard
Extremely pleasant way to spend a day with nice weather. Even year-round, the indoor spaces with bonsai and climate rooms are worth the visit. The vibraphone recording was touching.
Susy Chapstick
Took a long stroll thru this beautiful area. As you walk in, in December, plants appeared to be hibernating but then you walk into the huge green houses and see from tropical, dessert, bonsai and other sections filled with beautiful plants. Some are hot and arid others are very hot and humid. Once you walk out you stroll the grounds and see some beautiful gardens. Wish I could be there when the cherry blossom trees bloom.
Evelyn Loor
Have to comeback in Spring!!!! Went there the 1st week of October and obviously was not bloomed as I would like but it was still a nice walk with my friends. We were able to enjoy the exhibitions under roof.
KJ
Great place to relax and get some fresh air while enjoying all that nature has to offer. The place is well kept. I believe there is parking 🅿️ on the road side. Very clean washroom facilities and friendly staff …
Kait Hoehne
This is one of our favorite spots in Brooklyn. It's made the city feel like home. Their programming and member events are always fun, and it's been a gorgeous haven for us during the pandemic.
Zane B
What a great place! I've gone here a number of times over the years and have many photos already posted under this account, but went here recently for the light show! They have food and beverages (with special ones for this event), and a number of different events all year round, including when the roses bloom, the chili festival, and the light show shown in the pictures below. There is a large variety of plants and flowers, with a beautiful coy pond among other things! Highly recommended place to go with friends, family or by yourself! 🌷🌺🌻☘️🌹🌸💐
H Nguyen
Although I did not get a chance to see most of the park, I had a wonderful experience the day I attended. The pond of lotuses and water lilies was beautiful and I loved all the variety I was able to see, even in just a few hours.
Westley Carter
This place was awesome. Go to the mini gift shop! They sell Crystals and other VERY VERY AWESOME EXTREMELY COOL AND FUN STUFF... Anyhoo, the scenery was "A Breeze" And very pretty. (Did part of Japan come to us?) Also, We looked at the Japanese Hill and road... I don't remember what it's called but.. MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE SHRINE! My favorite Part was the ROSE GARDEN. One of our party members saw pink flowers, and I don't know about you, (IM NOT A GIRL.) I like the color pink. It makes the mind go: Wow this is awesome. I should see this again. And that's what the place did too me. Recommending that YOU. yes you. SHOULD GO HERE. NOW. Also, the Cafe was awesome. There were clean air tanks I think making the water better than... Water? The air was clean at least.
Also, there are reservations, which make the entire entryway faster than just buying tickets when you get there.
Nicolás Ortiz
It was a great experience during mi NYC trip, an excellent opportunity to take a break of all the noise and the lights in the city. Beautiful plants and trees even in winter. It is worth mentioning that it can be a free activity if you get the community ticket in the official website.
NGUYEN Thanh Van
We came here for cherry blossom yesterday, 23rd April. the cherries on cherry walk weren’t in its pic yet. They should be all blooming in one week.BBG was a bit crowded because it was weekend and the weather was beautiful but the garden is big enough to absorb the crowd..We didn’t visit the bonsai museum because we didn’t want to wait in line, we preferred beautiful spring flowers outdoor especially yellow magnolia, a BBG hybrid.
Melissa Wagner
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is my refuge from the city. I go here year round, there's always something new to see. From the holiday lights display, to the cherry blossoms, to the rose garden, I feel like I need to go every couple of weeks so I don't miss anything!
Elizabeth Hadden
Nice park to enjoy an afternoon walk any time of year. The Japanese garden area was my favorite! I’d imagine this park is especially stunning in the spring or summer, but there was still a lot to see in December. There’s a suggested donation price but no obligation to pay that full price for admission.
Zarina
In love with this park/garden. So spacious and Beautiful. So much nature and life here. Loved everything about this place. My favorite was the Japanese garden, the rose garden and the cherry lane. I wanted to spend the whole day here. Fell in love with this place. Highly recommend.
I have a reel here on my instragram @zarinazzzgab check it out.
Very Clean bathrooms. Very nice store.
Tamara R
An absolute gem! Loved the plant evolution section and the cherry blossoms! This place is so well maintained and beautiful. Definitely going back within the next month so see more flowers in bloom.
Robyn Ashley Weddings
I officiated a ceremony in the Cranford Rose Garden and it was absolutely beautiful! Though there weren’t many roses today (7/9) the flora and fauna more than make up for it. There are numerous sections in and around the garden to have your elopement or a minimony as well take some really beautiful pictures. The birds were the perfect background music for the ceremony too!
Juan C
Very beautiful place, cool variety but I sadly missed the conservatory. Must say it’s not as varied as other botanical gardens but it’s comprehensible. RECOMMENDED: the fragrance garden, take a moment to smell the different plants
Sopyte Agne
Most probably the most beautiful place in Brooklyn in spring! Beautiful and a very clean park ! Perfect for families, romantic walks, and those who are curious to learn about different plants! We have a yearly membership and it’s fantastic!
Amitava Saha
One of the many gems of NYC. It was a very rewarding experience for my 4yr old. Seeing plants, smelling roses and touching the leaves. Doesn't get much idlic than this. Garden in full bloom in late spring. The Shakespeare garden is going to stay with me for long time. The clever garden design depicts how effects of seclusion can be achieved even when surrounded by busy motor ways around the garden. A wholesome family experience. Thank you Brooklyn Botanical Garden management team.
Jared G
One of the best the country, and definitely the best in the city. You can feel the history and the ginkgo and wisteria are so big! Enough shade that you never feel too out in the sun. The giant London Plane trees help!
CsabaJ
Entrance was 18usd and spent 2-3hours exploring.
It felt more like a park most of the time, but it was very clean, well maintained, and it did have variety.
Tony Santoro
went for the light show, very delightful! while masks were required, I wish that they had also requested vaccinations also. everyone was compliant but it would have mad the experience a little more comfortable for me. other than that lightscape is well worth the price of admission.
Graham Short
The light show was amazing.A one way path (for Covid reasons) kept people moving. Stunning background each installation is different from the next. A must see this holiday season
Regina Jamison
Loved Brooklyn Botanic Garden! So serene it's like a perfect escape in the city from the city. Flowers are beautiful. Quiet and peaceful. They have a children's garden but it wasn't open. Nothing indoors is open only outdoor exhibits. It's a nice place to just go and chill out and enjoy nature. And to learn about plants.
Karina Kisselite
Beautiful garden. The bonsai exhibition was really nice. There are several entrances to the park, and you can make a round. The entrance next to the Brooklyn Museum is probably the most convenient. There is a pretty cafe, but only outside tables. Tortoises and fish in the Japanese garden were cute.
Remi Paluszak
I wish we could have seen more and have seen it in spring or summer. We spend mostly time indoors, though the entrance was not clearly found. Otherwise, very much worth the visit.
Meghan Hendrix
Gorgeous and so relaxing, highly recommend doing! The garden is huge and takes a while to explore. There's a small food court but I'd recommend getting food elsewhere before or after visiting.
IAP MAD Team Lead
Great tranquil place within the city. The gardens were beautiful as well as the cherry blossoms. The Bonsai Pavillion had some superb specimens.
Andrew Hewett
It was nice in autumn but it would be maxing in spring. Cherry Blossom lane was nice, Japanese gardens picturesque in fall, roses beautiful and the native plants interesting
John Berkheimer
Great way to wind down. Educational if you want, but if not it's an ideal escape. Staff leaves you alone but will light up if you have any questions.
Louis Swanepoel
Beautiful botanical gardens, several areas and habitats, large and wide open space, nice walkways, bences in quiet corners, peacefull. Very good identification and label signs for plants. Parking on site. Subway close by. Not to crowded. Please be quiet and respectful of other patrons so all can enjoy the beauty and ambiance. This is not a kids play park.
Nick Athey
Simply wonderful. My favorite part was the rose garden followed closely by the Japanese garden. I recommend you visit this place if you find yourself in Brooklyn.
m m
cherry blossoms are in full effect right now!
roses are not quite ready.
absolutely loved it so much we bought a duo membership.
best time to go tuesday/ wednesday 8-13:00 imo.
it starts to get busy from 2-closing time.
thank you NYBG
♥️☯️🙏🏼

Botanic Garden in the heart of Brooklyn. There are paths throughout this beautifully kept garden to meander through for hours. Nature is displayed for an optimal zen experience.
Great rest stations with snacks, coffee, gift shop. There is a pond, a library, there are classes.
Great place to spend your day or many days and enjoy botanical gardens.
Katiuska Elena Loor Andrade
I only go here for the cherry blossom 🌼🌸 blooming. It is perfect as a romantic date. I recommend to go on weekdays because the weekends are imposible especially if you go in your car. Take the bus or train. …
Janet Williams
Lovely gardens along walkable paths. Beautiful greenhouse and pool terrace. Loved the sensory garden and the native plantings.
bella
Love this place. So beautiful, and the fish are adorable. I loved being here and plan on going again. Definitely worth the money 🤍 …
Hannah Eareckson
Such a cool place to spend an afternoon! So many different gardens, and there's always something new to see throughout the year.
Lioubov Lebedeva
It was a pleasure to be there!Make a gift for your heart and your soul and go to the park one day. Have a good time and be happy 😊 …
Alexis Dao
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!! Favorites include the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, Lily Pool Terrace, Steinhardt Conservatory, and Cranford Rose Garden. Highly recommend going on a weekday if you’re looking for a place to spend the entire afternoon. There are packaged tickets that come along with the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Spent a total of $38 (student ID discount) for my boyfriend and I to explore for 5 total hours!
Rick Lash Photography
So many species. So little time. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is quite simply, stunning. It's a masterfully designed experience that cultivates plant life and architecture, not equally, but in a seamless blend that makes for a one of a kind visit. As a wedding photographer, my experience is one wherein I'm finding phenomenal views, angles, and compositions at every turn, from those in the ceremony (second to none, especially within the confines of New York City proper) and the reception (onsite facility is beautiful, modern, and elegant). I love the BBG and visit whenever I'm able, whether for work or play.
Chris Damien
Beautiful gardens. Great place to escape from the city and enjoy the best of what nature has to offer.
Ian Adam
Enjoy a beautiful walk through these lovely gardens. I'm sure it's more breathtaking during spring!!
Genesis Nieves
An absolutely stunning oasis in the middle of Brooklyn. Highly recommend visiting and I can't wait to visit again, hopefully next spring for the cherry blossoms.
Wendy Asmen
A great place to spend a morning or afternoon in the midst of the city. It’s $18 to enter but it’s NY. The Brooklyn museum is next door too.
Saba Fadaei (MatinSaba)
Cherry blossom festival is a very great time to visit the botanical garden … it’s just a busy place
So bring your water and patience
Amanda Steffan
Love spending an afternoon here. Most recent visit in June felt like the perfect time to experience the rose garden.
Tomáš Rokos
Well, yes, we enjoed Brooklyn Botanic Garden. However, we originaly expected much more. This place was highly rated in travel guide so we put it on NYC visit list. It was nice but I would not say our favourite in NYC. We came probably late to see the rose garden full blooming. However, the garden was bigger than we originaly expected and there are beatiful places to see.
Graham Parker
Went for Lightscape, which is a fun holiday activity, just the price and experience don't really match up. Even using the family pack, it is a $100 1hr jaunt, with some interesting light sculpture but mainly it feels like it has been jammed into the usual garden experience.
Arvin Suarez
A beautiful place that is well worth a visit even with many exhibits closed due to the pandemic.
Grounds are extremely well kept and staff is very friendly. Even with about 30% of the grounds closed there is still ample to see and do. Great for families, solo or with a group. I visited during the peak of summer and the grounds were alive with countless flowers, trees and plants.
Beware on hot days as many of the areas are in the open and a bringing water and an umbrella is highly recommended, as exhaustion can set in rather quickly.
Gift shop/ plant store has many unique items that is way above average for a gift shop.
Cafe was closed so this may lead to cutting your visit shorter if you were planning on eating while there. This may be temporary due to the pandemic/ various factors.
Sara Rehart
Went there for Lightscape, which was a special nighttime function held from 12/22-1/9. I thought it was very well done, and while I've been to the garden before, made me want to go come back in the daytime and in the summer. It's also close to the BK Museum, which is always fun!
Aniko Magyar
A perfect curation of exhibits , mostly spring time is so much different.
The Gardens had such a diverse array of plants and sections .Each section was unique and gave different experiences and allowed for different routes through the gardens to individualize your experience. taking a few hours to explore each of the exhibits .Soon is coming illuminated spectacular Lightscape .
November 19,2021-January 9, 2022 …
Amy Warner
We loved our visit in mid-December. It was amazing, even in winter! Loved the buildings, the outdoor space/lights and the gift shop. Our only issue during our visit was that the hours stated on all the buildings/website were longer than the actual and the security personnel were not friendly when asking us to leave. We will definitely be back in the Spring/Summer!
Careen Robinson
Lovely... even on a 90+ degree day. It's not a place to visit in one shot due to 50+ acres of lush green space. The Japanese garden lake is a sight. The Herb and Rock Gardens are delightful. Will definitely be back to see the other side of garden.
Jalessa
I enjoyed my visit. The flowers were beautiful and vibrant. I really enjoyed the fragrance garden!
Natella Avraham
I guess I went there at the wrong period of time, most greens was burned out by the sun . Was no flawers , all this place hardly could find place to get water , there is tiny outdoor place that selling small bottel water for $5 unbelievable, overall at summer this place doesnt look any more empresive than any other park , safe your trip if you not from around .
ELLIS CHEN
Very, very good visual experience. It's worth bringing the one you love to feel together. The days are short, the light is colorful, and enjoyment in time
Heli Mistry
very beautiful, The best time to visit this place is during spring season, you will see a lot of crowd but this place is huge enough to get you space to walk peacefully. its a huge garden and many different attractions, and it goes very beautiful while spring.
there is food court where you can have dinner or quick snack, when you get out there are few restaurants with in 5-6 mins walk.
another interesting thing is there is restaurant where you can have dinner on boat, which is really cool!
I went there for photoshoot and the results came out amazing! must visit for date night dinner or for beauty.
Jack Sparrow
Even though everything wasn't in season, still a beautiful stroll I would recommend to anyone that wants to enjoy nature.
Ian Lesnick
A perfect curation of exhibits! The Gardens had such a diverse array of plants and sections, but nothing was "too big" where you got lost or bored of anything.
Each section was unique and gave different experiences and allowed for different routes through the gardens to individualize your experience. Definitely recommend comfy walking shoes and taking a few hours to explore each of the exhibits – you won't regret it!
Lexa
I never knew this wondrous place existed in my backyard. I will return a hundred times over!
Olga Bayer
Wonderful place - I like it so much! Beautiful flowers, trees, alleys - it was rainy day, but I liked my experience, and going to visit it again on sunny day!
Janani Krishnan
Incredible flora and fauna - i went this summer while they had the birdhouse series of installations and it was such a joyful experience.
Lizzy
Went here for a Halloween walk but there was no where to sit to catch your breath indoors and it was very cold. It was very beautiful though.
Alejandro Farias
What a place. Great all year round, went after Thanksgiving this time because we had family visiting from out of town. The conservatory was great, loved the bonsai exhibition the most. Simply fascinating!
nisakorn masunthasuwan
I visited BBG in April during full bloom of Spring time and the atmosphere was amazing not to be missed.
Michael J
Big fan of the BBG for years! It's worth a visit in almost any season but this was our first winter trip thanks to #lightscape. Thought it was a little pricey but the show was fantastic and well worth seeing for both children and adults. All the exhibitions were interesting and impressive and the food/drink options were plentiful. I def give it a 👍🏻.
Springtime is obv a good time to visit but the BBG is a great experience any time of the year.
Andrew Hansen
I always love walking through the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. And this new holiday Lightscape display makes me love it even more! Such beautiful, artistic, and sophisticated light installations with a lovely combination of holiday music. Highly recommend!!
Chiqui Gil
This place it’s magical. We walked the whole place in two hours, they have many restrooms and many water fountains available
Victoria
Beautiful and peaceful any time of the year 🌸 lots of grounds and space to explore, many different kinds of gardens and flora. The cherry esplanade is a spectacle on itself during spring. …
Rodrigo Elias
April 15th to May 5th it’s the best time of the year to go and see how all the trees come to live after winter
The Blue ZOO Sea
You are transformed into another place when do you enter the park most of the buildings that surrounded our block from View so you can easily imagine being far away from the city
Santiago Rojas
I love it, highly recomended! Come early to be able to visit every single part of the garden. I was truly amazed of the beauty and pure air you can breath here.
Daniel Donnelly
Horticulture at its finest! An illusion convincingly executed of walking into the Orient — transported to a pagoda castle’s landscaped garden — without having to leave Brooklyn. Informative plaques, impressive greenhouse architecture, and the overall curation is very memorable.
Bo Shiun
A gorgeous, tranquil oasis in Brooklyn. Visited in April couple of years ago while in town. The garden offers discounts to students and seniors ($12 per person). Worth every penny.
Priya Gupta
Beautifully designed and preserved place. Very clean and well worth the trek from Manhattan.
K Aber
Colorful lighting on trees with additional structures/areas lit. Hot drinks available at several locations throughout the garden was nice on a very cold evening. Unique experience!
Mel
Beautiful! October was the perfect time to visit! Lots of different plant species and areas to relax with friends or have a nice stroll

I really like this botanical garden, been there multiple times ! But I gotta say after visiting NYC one I will love to visit this one again ! ♥️
If you coming to NYC for a short time & like to visit a botanical garden, then I will say to visit the NYC one which is located in Bronx!
Very beautiful & clean. Best to visit is spring. Last year I got to visit the cherry festival & it was wonderful.
Fall should be very beautiful too, that’s on my list .

This is a wonderful garden in Brooklyn. It is in walking distance between Brooklyn Museum and Prospect park, and the subway is nearby. And yesterday night was the most gorgeous night ever before from Lightscape. Hope it can keep up.
Rhonda Dorsett
Lovely gardens and beautifully tended. 3 hours was not enough! I went on a very hot day but the shade and woodland gardens provided a great respite from the heat.
Elizabeth Camacho
Great place to bring kids who like the outdoors but are sensitive to loud noises. It's Quiet, clean and well kept. I only wish the areas for kids were open and staffed. Otherwise it was a great experience
Smita
Beautiful in spring and summer
Cherry Blossoms season in April is the best time to visit to see cherry blossoms, tulips and other beautiful flowers in bloom
Sharing some pics from my visit in April 2009

Went for the Lightscape. The staff were all cheerful and it was a cold rainy evening. You could tell the lights and music were intentionally put together. It was a fun experience I can't imagine how fun it will look with some snow.
Eric D
So peaceful and beautiful. Need better signage and maps.
Be sure not to miss the conservatory area - it's easy to miss.
Val Khan
Had I come a month or two prior so many more plants would have been in full bloom. But nonetheless it's peaceful, tranquil, and very relaxing to walk through on a warm summer day. I did manage to take some great photos.
Andris Vizulis
Our recent visit here did not disappoint. Beautiful as ever. A Saturday in August 2021, during COVID. Was good to see that masks were still recommended, and required in high traffic areas. Spent the most time in the Japanese Garden and Herb Garde. Each was exquisite. Everyone should make sure they visit hereat least once in their lives!

Great event. Hot beverages for the trail. Must see event for the kids and couples too.
Alan DELACRUZ
Unique experience beautiful 😍 place for the entire family love to visit on weekdays …
Melonie
Really nice! Great for pictures. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes if you plan on exploring everything. Spent 2-3 hours walking around.
Kimiko
It’s endearing to see that the city has such beautiful areas of greenery! This whole garden is very well maintained and is truly so beautiful to visit in the summer! It’s a great place to take a calm stroll while learning about biodiversity!
YK S
Great walk, not full at all. And still has great vegetation this tine of the year.
Victoria Austin
Even in late October there were so many things to see. Not only the gardens themselves, but educational exhibits from a xylophone to a sun dial and so much more.
Faisal Shahim
Normally it is good during Spring and Cherry blossom season. During fall there is less to see
Rita Corraya
I think best time to come here is beginning of spring, in cherry blossom season. They do not allow food or eating inside; they have a small cafe though. Overall not bad, I loved the rose garden.
Andry Familia
One of my favorites botanical gardens! I have to highlight the underground green house 🌱 lovely set up and peaceful at the same time. Staff is very helpful. …
Ali Raja
Best botanical Garden I have been to. Lots to do and is massive.
Justin Hayworth
Vibrant! Colorful! Wonderfully charming! And more accessible in the middle of Prospect Park than the Bronx one.
My first visit was in April 2018 for the Cherry Blossom festival and it was a magical experience! The Japanese artwork was a lovely touch, and the Bonzai exhibit was marvelous… tiny trees over 1000 years old! And such dedication to craft from one generation to the next.
The setting within the park is natural and it’s worth a visit in any season.
Marion NYC
What an amazing place to celebrate Earth day! Beautiful blossoms! Beautiful grounds! The indoor greenhouses are closed so only the outdoor places are available at the moment. They have wonderful grass area but they do not let you picnic there. So don’t come here thinking you will lay out a blanket. They won’t allow it anywhere. But the new paths are fantastic! This is easy to get to from the 2/3 train stop - Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum
Topher Barnett
In the springtime, make sure to come as often as possible; it's a different garden every week. It's really incredible how they maintain this place. It seems to me about the right size to see in a few hours, so you don't have to keep coming back to take it all in. The lawns are perfect, cherry trees magnificent when in bloom, roses fragrant, and everything thoughtfully laid out. Definitely worth a membership if you're close enough to come regularly.
Nathan Kline
One of my favorite places in the city, a wonderful visit in any season
Nastaran
Had a lovely time there. It's better to visit on spring.
Seventino Willianto
Love it this garden....to spend ur weekend with your lovely families
Amelia G
This is a really gorgeous garden. They used to have gardening classes for the kids, I'm unsure what they have now. It's great for field trips and just walking around. It is a great experience for everyone. Kids will have fun just running around. Adults will enjoy all the plants and the scenic views. It's a big place, so don't feel bad for not having seen everything when you go. Some of these pics are from a while ago, so they may not reflect the current state of the park.

The final Sunday in August '21, weather is overcast, humid and grey but the Brooklyn Botanical Garden splashed the afternoon full of fragrance and color.
The Cranford Rose Garden, Cherry Esplanade, and Japanese Hill and Pond Garden were some of my favorite sections. The Lilac Colection, the Herb, Rock, Children's, and Water gardens along with the Lily Pool Terrace and Native Flora and Woodland gardens seamlessly fill the grounds.
Due to covid safety restrictions, some buildings, the Aquatic House, Desert and Tropical pavilions and the Bonsai Museum are temporarily close to the public The BBG visitor center offered limited food sevice with social distancing seating.
The Garden Shop is open, proof of vaccine required for entry. Gifts available for purchase ranged from live plant to gardening tools and soil to botanical and DIY gardening books to floral t-shirts and refrigerator magnets. The BBG is completely accessible to people with disabilities, although a few paths may be uneven or steep.
Overall the BBG is an excellent outing for the entire family or school group to explore, learn and Grow in nature.

“A peaceful ambiance”
📍Brooklyn Botanic Garden
I’ve never been to a botanical garden so I was pretty excited about it. I got the chance to see many different plants, flowers and more! Luckily, I was able to visit majority of the areas and saw plenty of photo ops for all my {wannabe} bloggers. Despite getting trapped in a maze a few times, I enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who wants to spend some peaceful time outdoors.

Imagine a trip in a cheerful cheery blooms season. Heard about the Japanese hill for a long time. Picturing the elegant red and the fresh smell of the grass. It's almost early autumn time which is definitely worth a trip in my favorite season. And it's the easiest way for someone stuck in their work and study to step into nature.
Always wanted to go to the botanic garden ever since I landed in this country. It's already been three years and I still didn't pay my trip there.
Not really sure when will I go and who will I go with. It's like a bad habit of mine. Something or somewhere I have been looking forward to experiencing for so long but never take action. Guess that the anticipation will finally defeat my laziness.
Ann Van Epps
Really beautiful environment right now as it's an elevated version of seeing the leaves change. The rose garden still has some blooms because of the warmer weather in November I'm assuming? And some of the hybrids are so fragrant. Right now it's pay as you wish. They are setting up the lights for the seasonal show which is also a must see at night.

This review is for Lightscape, a seasonal exhibit at the garden. Highly recommend when it is not raining. They organized a one way trail with stops for hot drinks, cafe and restrooms. Trail is easy for strollers and wheelchairs. The light displays were stunning. This is truly a great exhibition for people of all ages. I believe the trail is about a mile, there are benches along the way if you want to sit for a break. It took about an hour with us stopping for photos for most of the exhibits.
Also shout out to the amazing staff who was on site ! They were truly the kindest!
Tickets were purchased online!

Coming here, we needed to purchase tickets ahead of time and we were assigned an entrance to help space out visitors. Mostly everyone was respectful in wearing masks and everyone was pretty good about keeping space. By the time we were here the cherry blossoms were already in post bloom but we were still able to see some, as well as all the other beautiful flowers and plants. Food is technically not allowed, but there were plenty of people having snacks leisurely.

Peaceful and beautiful park, anytime, any season you are here.
Dustin Hecker
The garden is not, I understand, as large as the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. But the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is quite easy to access (found free parking on the street right next door, but there are subway stops nearby), it's beautiful, has tons of amazing flowers and plants (who knew that artichoke flowers were so colorful?), wasn't the least bit crowded on a gorgeous summer Saturday, and is well worth the admission price.
Tracy Heyward
Beautiful place! At the time I went, there was a Japanese festival and I'm a big fan of Asian culture so I had a great time. They also have the chili head fiesta dedicated to hot sauce and foods with hot spices and it really good!
Jinn Weinstein
Lovely to enjoy at any time. We had a bit of trouble security and navigating us to an appropriate exit for us (I am a wheelchair user), but this did not detract from the experience as a whole.
Shane Moody
This review is based on the lightscape show.
We really enjoyed the creativity of the light show. The majority of the displays were really exciting. There is a lack of integration with the plants, but considering it was dark it was not too noticeable.
Walk was about 50 minutes at a moderate young person pace, with plenty of benches for a stop. Possibly a little overcrowded, with clusters of groups forming. All it takes is one group trying to get their perfect photo to slow us all down.
Suggestion: Please have staff on hand to move people on from the light tunnel. It is a beautiful sight ruined by 20 groups trying to get a perfect photo.
Matthew Snyder
Incredible place to walk around, purchased the Contributer level immediately to bring 4 people at a time. Can't wait to being everyone I know here
J Miss
I had to complete a project for school at the Botanical gardens. They have a donate what you can afford special going on, I think until January. It was beautiful and soothing, I walked for over one hour and didn't complete the entire garden. But, I got a lot of great photos. I plan on going back with my family.
Joseph Dinas
Wonderful place to just hang out on a warm spring day. Today was even a little chilly and it was still to come here. Lots of places to sit, the cherry blossoms are all spectacular as well. Very kid friendly as well. Perfect place to learn about pretty much every nyc planet you could think of.
Todd Cohen
The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens are beautiful! I went when the cherry blossoms were in bloom. Loved.
Here's 4 tips and 2 annoyances you should be aware of -
2 annoyances you should be aware of -
-they make you wear a mask, outdoors and even when sitting distant from others.
-they allow you to sit on the grass but can't put anything under you to avoid grass stains. So odd. People were trying to sit on their jacket without the security noticing.
The security guards come uncomfortably close to you to ask you to have your mask on. I remember thinking they were the least safe part of the experience. People were naturally spread out
This sorta ruined our experience.
Tip1 - April is the best time to go, when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Check the website for updates
Tip2 - come at the designated time on your ticket. They try to manage crowds by enforcement of entrance tickets.
Tip3 - It does sell out - buy in advance
Tip4 - eat beforehand - can't bring food in the park. Or they sell some light snacks there
Despite all of that, I still recommend it
Paula Roberts
Glorious way to spend an afternoon. So much to see.
Millie Medina
Beautiful garden. We saw they had an area where they teach children how to garden. Staff was friendly. Bathrooms were clean. There are water fountains throughout the garden. I thought that it would be loud given that it is in the middle of the city, but this was not the case at all. Nice, quiet & peaceful atmosphere.
Kankana Borah
Its a great place to visit on weekends. The rose garden smells so great..
Daniel Sabbatelli
Today was hot like hell but the garden is always awesome
Cristian Iulian Dragota
A relaxing place in the heart of Brooklyn. Not too busy if you go in the morning. The garden is not yet in full bloom (18 April 2021). We had a good time and there are plenty of thing to see. There are not too many benches to sit, but you can sit on grass in designated areas. The staff could use more training in being polite and more visitor focused.
Ryan Cole
Something that is great to do once. There's nothing here that's really mind-blowing, with the conservatory and rose garden being clear standouts for the trip. Probably will never go again, unless I happen to be in the area around the time the cherry blossoms would be in bloom.
Carly Valencia
I really like it, the best time to go is on April because you can appreciate the cherry blossom. 8:30am is a perfect time if you want few people in side the BBG. It’s perfect for a Sunday day with your family, you have the perfect spot for a picnic
Mary Rodriguez
Absolutely beautiful garden! Loved everything about it.
Christine Nigro
We were bummed to find the conservatory closed but aside from that...this place is so beautiful!! We especially loved the Japanese Hill and Pond garden. Does anyone know what happens to the cash that's placed in front of the Shinto shrine? We parked by the BK Museum $20 all day, bought Tix to the garden on a phone. Our visit was unplanned. We had around 2 hours to explore. It wasn't enough. There are really amazing trees here. This is worth a trip to Brooklyn if you're not from the area.
John Lavelanet
The views were not as beautiful at this time of the year, but it was great to be outdoors in a beautiful place. Spring 2021 March 29. You can imaging how beautiful it will look in spring and summer. The indoor areas were closed. I did not like the way the security spoke to the customers when it was closing time, telling everyone the park is closed. However there was only one exit and it would place me at the opposite of where we were parked. My hip was hurting me by this time and I was making my way to the exit closest to where we parked. No such luck I had to walk about a mile to get to my car. Beware of closing time...
Jessica J.
This little piece of beautiful heaven in Brooklyn is the best that we could wish for. Being inside prospect park makes it easy to find. It is also very organized and accessible from 2 entrances. Buy your ticket online before hand & try to find special pricing if it applies to you. Once you go in tour every part of it. Look at the maps and don’t miss any part! Great for taking headshots. Don’t bring a tripod here as it might need a special permit. Great for relaxing on the big green grass space. Good isn’t allowed here so you can’t have a picnic. Plenty of food options outside in the surrounding area. During spring there’ll be more flowers and plants that have sprung...come chill, leave your phone aside, and just relax your mind.
James Harris
The garden is fabulous, but they have an unusual system whereby you cannot visit the shop without buying a ticket. I saw an item I wanted, but was travelling elsewhere so returned to purchase and was told in no uncertain terms it was not possible. So a sale, proceeds of which support the garden was missed because of the misery in the ticket office. The staff are so miserable on the whole. So, do they deserve your money when they plainly don’t want it.
Vladimir M
Looks very beautiful. Too hot in June days in summer. Few people around. Nice place to dating. Ticket 18 dollars.
Albert Pitoyo
Located right at the back of Brooklyn museum, it is something you can’t miss when you visit the museum.
My first experience at the garden is superb. Starting from the warm welcome from the staffs despite of the cold weather, they managed to give enough detail around the garden and what not to miss.
Love the Japanese garden architecture with a big pond where you can sit, relax and read a book or two and just spend your alone time with a view. Love the awesome old and huge trees around the garden. Walking through the garden would be the best option to freshen up your head and throw away your boredom.
I would definitely come for other seasons to enjoy the different kind of atmosphere.
Come and enjoy your time here!
dr. monkey
Beautiful gardens, also has greenhouses with different habitats like a temperate forest, tropical forest, and desert. They also have a bonsai greenhouse, which was incredible. I didn't get to see the whole garden, but will definitely be going back next time I am in New York. Also, their restaurant was wonderful. Quick service, good food, a little pricey but it made sense with the quality of ood they were serving. I got the challah french toast, which was absolutely amazing.
Sabrina Paez-Parent
Lovely and large botanical garden. Limited parking access.
A Kurman
We visited in the spring at cherry blossom time and in the winter for the light festival. The gardens were spectacular! If you are visiting NYC don't hesitate to make time for the Brooklyn Botanical gardens. It's an easy, quick subway train ride from 42nd St.
sakinah stephenson
Such a well designed and curated garden. Very relaxing to stroll through whether you're with friends and family, or on a solo walk.
It's simply beautiful, and I'd recommend it to everyone who's able to visit.
Rishi Takrani
I was able to enjoy the pre-bloom season for cherry blossoms. Great park to roam around and smell the aroma of flowers. You have an entry ticket due to Pandemic, but it’s worth a visit. Expected to have a full cherry blossom by Mid April.
David K.
An amazing garden in the heart of Brooklyn. I feel like it is more affordable and accessible than the larger New York Botanic Garden in the Bronx. My only complaint is that it was Open House NY and it was supposed to be free. I had to tell the ticketing office that I am there for Open House NY, and thought it was free. I saw them charging people when it should have been free.
Jose R Lopez
I have been visiting this garden for over 20+ years now. It's great to visit with your partner/better half or family and friends. Spring time is one of the best seasons to visit due to the smell of fresh flowers in the air as they bloom. Let's not forget the cherry blossom tree section and the awesome smells of magnolia tree also. It's also a good time to visit in the month of May for the rose garden is open and they have so many kinds of Roses to showcase to the public. Oh yeah and the smell of fresh Herbs Garden is another visit area. I highly recommend to walk different areas of this Botanical Garden because it has so much to offer. They offer many events so check their events calendar from time to time.
The Japanese pond is almost always a must stop attraction. You see the many fish and turtles that seem to know that someone will feed them some bread. Also make a stop at the main building so you can see the many exhibits like bonsai trees, lilies pond, orchids, rain forest tropical plants, deserts plants and a few others as well. All this under one roof top, that's partially glass roof and walls.
Entrance fee can be pricey if you're visiting for a day only. I would recommend to join the membership perk. Go online for more information. It gets you in the park for one year as many times as you want to come as a member but it's not only this garden. As a member you also get into all city own botanical gardens. (Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan) For special events, you don't need to wait on those long lines as well, you just walk up to the gate and show them your a member card holder with an ID that matches the name and they let you walk right in. You also get 10% discount on food, drinks and merchandise purchased. Plus it's tax deductible, so it's a write off. Many benefits, so no reason why not join the membership perks if you live in NYC.
Downside to your visit. They have a parking lot for members that's limited on visits and on special events, it does fills up really fast and you then need to find your own. Parking is very difficult around this neighborhood/area.

The Brooklyn Botanic Lightscape is a new addition to our holiday experiences and defects at the top of our list. The garden comes to life on new ways, the artistry of the lights, sculptures, and music thrill the senses. Great for all ages, plus the cocoa was delicious too. Must do!
Tony Tamburello
Beautiful gardens, beautiful flowers, beautiful landscaping. Lots of plants I was not familiar with in spite of having been a Master Gardener. Lots to see and do inside and out. Easy to spend four to six hours here. Good place to see examples of xeriscaping and the plants to use to achieve it.
Duy Nguyen
A great place to read, walk, take photos, in peace!
Not much to see in winter but still very peaceful.
The garden is well maintained, socially distanced, and very quiet during weekdays. Perfect spot to read, think, relax, and walk.
Bella Yuhan Lu
An awesome park in spring to see cherry blossoms. Every spring when it's blossoming, there's a festival which also offers Japanese dance shows, cosplays, and food. It usually is in April. Just when the weather gets a little bit warm and after several days of raining, that’ll be the perfect timing to go.
Lindsey Osagiede
The Lightscape exhibit was over priced. The guides there were great but the exhibit wasn’t worth the price.
Natasha Mazeau
The Children’s Garden Classes at Brooklyn Botanic Garden are so wonderful. My child has been going for 2 years now and comes away from each class having learned about gardening, vegetables, flowers and team work. I have seen her confidence grow with each class she takes. She comes home from most classes with veggies or some kind of craft. If she comes home with food, we often use it for a meal that weekend and she feels so proud that she's contributing to our family meals. The cherry on the top of the experience is their program director, Ellen McCarthy. She is so sweet with children, is a wealth of knowledge about gardening and is one of the main reasons we keep coming back! Thank you for to BBG for creating this incredible program for children in the heart of Brooklyn.
Iana Tchantchaleishvili
Didn’t know that there was such a beautiful botanical garden in prospect park. Spring session is definitely fantastic and I would love to go back in fall. Definitely worth to visit
Patryk Janowski
Lovely park. The botanical garden is very beautiful but it is still under construction. You can see the areas which they are expanding and would recommend going once this is completed. There is enough to do, the rose garden and water features throughout the park are really beautiful. I would plan things to do in the area as you can walk around the park within 3/4 hours so not enough for a full day out.
Crystal L. Glenn
Very hot day but a nice peaceful place. If you live in New York you can get a community pass a go to the park for free.
Dipayan Gupta
An escape from the city, right in the middle of it all. Beautifully landscaped with plenty of information of local plants, ancient plant-based medicines, and a children’s section with an educational garden. The cherry blossoms and Japanese garden are stand outs. Check website for various activities and performances, throughout the year.
Norman Frankel
We went in December (winter) so knew that the amount we could see would be limited but we still had a great time. The gardens are well set out with some impressive trees. It was a little frustrating that several conifers did not have name plates to help with identifying them. We added this to our itinerary of brooklyn bridge, brookly heights day trip.
David Drößler
Awesome botanic garden even in winter! Enjoyed spending time here, outdoors as well as indoors. Obviously, as I visited in January, most plants outdoors were dead but there were some already sprouting so that was great. The gardens are well maintained.
For a great getaway in winter I can recommend the greenhouses that are nice and warm and offer a variety of blooming tropical plants as well as a collection of bonsai trees.
Shane Kusterman
Cherry blossoms were at there peak today. Simply stunning. Tickets and access to the gardens was fast and simple. A must see.
Christina Connelly
We went specifically for the light show which was really cool. It was lovely to see all the colours and music around the gardens. A beautiful exhibition and worth seeing
Ammar Elahi
Very beautiful garden with a nice pond and a huge variety of plants and trees. Although I visited towards the beginning of spring, it was nice seeing most of the plants start to bloom.
Olivia Singh (Vinny)
I came to this place with my son 2 years ago, It feels like the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is far away from home where I living, but it's only an hour's drive from the Queens.
The first time I came was in mid-August 2017, we brings some food and water and spend a day here.
The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, but there are a few varieties of cherry blossoms already thanked.
The cherry blossoms are really out of place. It's hard to see them all blooming at once!
So beautiful here, we took a lot of pictures at here! You should come and visit here if you like to take some photography.
There is a Japanese-style landscape at the lakeside-Torii, Gazebo, Street lamp, Stone monument ...
Although the lake is small, it is very delicate and beautiful! We almost browsed the botanical gardens until 4:00 pm, then we had to leave, becuse they were close at 4 pm! We left reluctantly! They were close so early 😂
Coming here during the summer vacation with the little turtles in the sunshine by the lake, it feels really comfortable!
Winter is really longer in New York. I think Christmas always comes very fast!
Lee Weal
Wish it had more direction and was easier to navigate. Queens Botanic Garden is smaller but has more interesting flowers and foliage. Also, Queens has better signage.
Emma Rivera
April is the month of cherry blossoms in New York and Brooklyn Botanical Garden is one of the best places to see them. The delicate pink and white blossoms draw a steady crowd, so be sure to reserve tickets early and aim to go on a weekday morning when there are less people. While the cherry blossoms are the draw, don't miss the magnolias and daffodils. May and June also bring camelias and roses, so there are delights through the spring and summer.
Joette Jones
Beautifully curated botanic garden in the heart of Brooklyn. It feels like an escape from the busy surroundings nearby on Eastern Parkway. Each of the gardens feels like it’s own space, with their own levels of privacy. It’s a nice place for a walk or you can bring a blanket and a book and read for hours. During COVID, the BBG requires timed entry so the gardens are never crowded.
Jason Persaud
I've wanted to visit the BBG for a few years now ever since I found out about their Cherry Blossom trees. I monitored their progress (timing is everything with Cherry Blossoms) through the BBG website for a few weeks and saw that they are now peaking. I booked a ticket online as you are required to do so now during COVID. Booking lonline was very easy. Individual adult tickets are currently $18 but there are other options such as senior and student discounts. Children under 12 are also free. There are also a limited number of "community" tickets available to those who cannot afford the regular fees, which I thought was nice. Other discounts are available through various affiliations. I chose a Wednesday earlier in the morning to avoid the weekend and/or afternoon crowds. You can choose your times entry which are separated by different gates: Washington Ave., Eastern PArkway and Flatbush Ave. Parking (lot) is available near the main Washington Avenue entrance for a fee. Since I have visited the area in the recent past, I knew that there was tons of free street parking along Flatbush Avenue which tons of Prospect Park, BBG and Zoo goers can take advantage of. The alternate side/street cleaing restrictions all end between 9 AM and 10 AM, just in time for the Zoo and Garden to open! I got convenient spot along Flatbush Avenue and walked to that entrance. You are allowed to enter I believe 15 mins prior to, and up to 30 minutes ater your designated time. I have read a few complaints with the gate staff/guards but I had no issues. I presented my electronic ticket to the window booth, they scanned it and I was all set. The garden itself is wonderful. Lots to see, epecially in the early spring then things begin blooming. BBG is a good walking size....not as big as the NYBG but big enough to get in a lot of steps and take in the lovely scenery. While there are many areas to the Garden, the current buzz is around their annual Cherry Blossoms and rightfully so... They are simply gorgeous. There are a few areas around BBG with the blossoms but the main attraction is the Cherry Esplanade close to the Washington Ave. Entrance. The scene is simply amazing with the right timing. Thre indoor areas were still closed at the time of this writing . On a Wednesday morning there was tons of space to socially distance, even in the more crowded Cherry Blossom area. Masks are required and everyone is very respectful is keeping socially distanced. I did observe guards roaming the grounds...mostly enforcing their no blanket policy which I beieve was recently introduced with COVID. You are allowed to sit and lay on the grass but not with a blanket?! The garden is very well kept and clean. There are bathrooms and some food options throughout the garden but all had lines, especially with COVID-required distancing. The bathrooms were clean in my experience. Near the food areas, there are liited outdoor table/chairs set up. The little staff I encountered during my visit were helpful and friendly. For all my photographers out there...I did NOT have a problem bringing my DSLR camera and a few lenses in my backpack. I saw others in the Garden with tripods as well. Visitors were taking photos all over the garden with professional, prosumer and consumer cameras including cell phones. Lots of people vlogging as well. I believe the issue the Garden has is that they dont want photographer coming in who is planning on doing a full shoot (professional event or protrait with complex lighting set ups). But emailing/calling ahead to confirm is always a good idea if you are planning casual (family) photos. I've read reviews of some poeple having issues with that. I highly recommend everyone to visit the BBG. Lots to see, especially around this time of year. Also, make an entire day of it and add Prospect Park, Prospect Park Zoo and/or the Brooklyn Museum to the itinerary.

It's beyond described. It was good to smell the flowers again. Nature has a way of just calming your nerves and giving you hope ❤️🌷🌹 …
Rizwana Shaikh
Greeted at the Flabush entrance with the sweet scent of paper bush blooms and visually satisfying unfurling coral camelia blooms. The magnolia's were showing off and cherries were too! Just lovely!
Hassnaâ Hrj
Amazing place to get relaxing and to re-connect with mother nature, but I recommend to visit the park during spring or fall to enjoy the blooming we couldn't see nothing during winter
Woo Young Kim
Much smaller than NYBG but has a lot of cute areas with cherry blossom and Japanese pond garden. Great trip for spring. They are doing crowd control with covid so easy walking and not too many people. In busy part of Brooklyn so take note when driving in.
Nolan Doran
Beautiful sanctuary to see vibrant foliage, flowers and learn about various species of plants, herbs, trees and vegetables. Don't miss the Shakespeare and Rock Gardens!
Alex Francisci
A lovely spot to explore in all seasons!
Crystal H
There was barely anything in bloom. A few of the trees, had a lot of yellow to them and not from seasonal changes. You could tell they were being overwatered and not getting enough sun. It wasn't very crowded due to COVID19 restrictions. Gift shop was closed so did not get to visit. Cafe is closed, so eat before and walk with your own water. Overall its a peaceful outing; just not worth the ticket price to see wilted and half dead flowers and trees.
Widow “Raider Baby” H
Beautiful park and respite right in the middle of Brooklyn.
Jenn Santiago
I would have rated it 5 stars, but there isn't much to see since Covid has taken over. I know it will look more beautiful when everything is bloomed. Either way, it is a beautiful place, great to relax and just take nature in.
Monique Gonzalez
Great time, beautiful outdoor spaces for a relaxing day day or a stroll through nature to appreciate it's simple timeless beauty.
Dayshva Suxo
Went for the Lightscape exhibit and loved it! The gentleman at the cathedral was absolutely lovely! He offered to take pictures of us which we really appreciated!

Beautiful Grounds & Gardens.
Inexpensive admission: adults $15; children under 12 are Free! You can go out and return to the grounds (the same day) if you get your hand stamped when leaving.
There was a lot of construction happening so we couldn't get through everything.
I love the Rose Gardens🌹
Sprinklers were fun to run through. (It was a hot day).
Filipa Silva
I came here in February as they had free winter months so I wanted to check it out! I loved it so much. Its a really nice place to be around nature. They have green houses with different plants from different climates! I want to go back when the flowers are blooming 💕 …

Spring 2021 - We went to the Brooklyn botanical garden on the first day of cherry blossoms (April 17th). The blossoms around the Japanese hill and pond garden look mesmerizing in the early sun (8:30 am), however the blossoms in the interior haven’t bloomed yet. The best time to go to the garden is Saturday 8 am, since there is hardly anyone around and you can enjoy the beauties. We roamed the garden for 2 hours and by the time we left, the garden was overflowing. So choose to come early and head for the Japanese hill and pond right now. It’s beautiful.
Winter 2018- The experience was amazing. Still winter.. but the conservatory was so beautiful... Specially loved the temperate and tropical section.... The desert section looked serene....
F Jameel
Really nice place to enjoy your day. I came during the cherry blossom festival and everything looked amazing. The kids had a great time, a lot of room to run around, see colorful trees, a Japanese drum show, and they even had a fan painting event for kids.
Mary Farmer
It's such a gorgeous outside park.
The peonies and azaleas were breath taking. The lilacs were blooming but very small this year. Sadly the inside gardens are closed due to Covid. Everyone wore masks.
Shannon Reals
So pretty! And educational 🤓 We went in February so most outside stuff was dormant and whatnot, but the greenhouses are amazing! You could spend a whole day just in those. There's a main entrance greenhouse, a bonsai greenhouse, desert, rainforest, milder climate greenhouse, and a wet greenhouse. Everything is beautifully organized but is also very naturally laid out. It's for sure warm and steamy so dress accordingly or in layers if you go when it's cold outside. Great place for photos, and you can reserve it for weddings.
Sign the petition while you're there! There's a building that's in the red tape process that would be built right where it would cast a giant shadow over the garden and ruin the light and therefore the growing patterns of the plants! You can also sign online
I took about a million pictures, but here are some of my favorite spots 😊🌿💕
Syed Abdullah
A fantastic park. It is luscious, has trees, plants and almost every kind of flowers. The coy fish in the Japanese themed section are beautiful. The entrance price is fare at $15 for adults. Anyone visiting should definitely visit the rose garden and the Japanese themed section. Parking is available but expensive. You may find parking in the neighborhood but you must be patient. There is also a food center inside. People also get married in the park. I highly recommend this place.
Gisel A Costa
This place is so gorgeous. I enjoyed all their plants and nature. They had a section where you saw different plants growing in different climates. It was lovely and peaceful too. They also had a section with cherry blossom trees that you can sit and relax. Bring a blanket to sit! Highly recommend this place.
Elena Bonomo
A beautiful, serene place to go on a nice spring day! We had a great time. About half of the cherry blossoms were in bloom and they were gorgeous. Would love to go back in a few weeks to see the full place in bloom. All of the indoor greenhouses were closed due to COVID. Gift shop was still open. Many markings throughout the park to encourage masks and social distancing.
Yesenia Rodriguez
Such a beautiful garden. It is a perfect place to kill some time and enjoy the great outdoors. Just like any other place, there are some pros and cons but in this case it is only one con.
Pros:
-A peaceful place to go alone to write or enjoy the park with family or friends
-It is a big park with much to see
-The different exhibits are a must see
-If nothing attracts you in the cafe, right outside is wide selection of food to eat
-Near the Subway, convenient
-Friday mornings are free!
Cons:
-Like it is free on Fridays, expect it to be crowded
Marina Verbenska
I love BBG but sadly there is not much to do or see there at this time of the year (end of August).
Pros: it's not crowded.
Cons:
First, you need to book a ticket online and pick a time of arrival. I had mine for 2.15pm and even though I arrived 30 min late I was let in without a problem. My guess is that you should just take whichever time slot they have available and just show up on that day.
Second, lots of areas in the park are closed. So are drinking water stations and fountains.
Third, even though you are told upon entering the garden to keep your mask on at all times about 50% of visitors don't wear them.
Tessa Tyo
Beautiful, even in the earliest whispers of spring! Plenty to see and do.
Aimee Cabbs
Flowers are blooming beautifully.....wonderful day time activity to go for a nice walk and soak in nature. Nomore than a 2 hour visit. My family and I had a nice time.
Jacksman
Beautiful Garden with rare plants — a lovely way to spend the day! It’s handicap accessible and has free admission Friday mornings. You can spend hours walking around the Garden and there are benches throughout for taking breaks. Gift shop and cafe are also located inside with beer and wine options as well as sandwiches and salads.
Darren Ingram
The Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival transports you to another world and era. Even with others present, I feel as if I am alone when walking through the falling blossoms
Amir Bhuiyan
Went here yesterday to see the rose garden! It was a bit crowded even though it was middle of the day on a week day. But it was worth the visit...the garden was beautiful!!! Most of the rose bushes were in bloom! Very photogenic garden!
Tyrell Rumble
Great scenery, light event is fantastic.
Stephen Coleman
Beautiful place to slow down and get some time with the flowers. The overall design is amazing & the Blooms are always changing.
Buying a Membership was worth it
Angela Wen
Beautiful way to spend a day outdoors. I have a membership and it's completely different even coming a week apart. Great place to take visitors and family. There's areas to picnic inside. The indoors area lets you explore various biomes and bonsai trees. Allow plenty of time to explore, it's bigger than you think! Near cherry blossom season you can check the site to see the bloom status. Also, check their site to see when the free entrance morning day is.
Anna Banana Rankin
This is a great place to take folks from out of town - or to meet up with friends in town! They've got a really cool living bonsai tree museum. Highly recommend checking out the greenhouses with the orchids while you're there; the cafe is nice too. It's wonderful to walk on the paths even on a hot day since there's a good amount of shade.
Hatchman
Very beautiful well kept grounds. Alot of wonderful history and specimens from around the world. The conservatories were beautiful with all different climates represented. The bonsai exhibit was both informative and lovely, (Mr. Miyagi would be proud)
We went Friday at 8am when it opened, no one was there, we had the place to ourselves practically. And Fridays before noon are free.....sweetness times three. Clean restrooms as well.
Aron Reyder
Great place to come and relax. The place is clean and quiet. The sights are beautiful. There is so much to see here. Each plant it labeled with it's name and origin. There are outdoor plants which should be see at the end of the spring/ beginning of the summer. There is an indoor conservatory that houses exotic plants year round. This is well worth the price to come, relax, and see the sights.
Ash GR
Welcoming the spring with the cherry blossom at this place was worth it. The Japanese garden is really nice place to relax. The bonsai collection is pretty good. The store at the entrance has interesting stuff, they were selling Venus fly traps! And some special plants and seeds. If the weather is pleasant it is a added bonus to enjoy the place! The herb garden was pretty cool and they had quite a variety.
Kenneth Tejada
Pandemic Review. Crowds were socially distant and there was widespread mask compliance. Bathrooms were serviceable. One way routes were established. At this time we went to see the Cranford Rose Garden which was quite pretty.
Stella Geller
I went with my friend to botanical garden today. We loved everything that we saw but tulips were the best part. The colors of tulips were the colors of the rainbow.
It was stunning and some tulips we never seen before.
The beautiful trees all around, we totally enjoyed walking around and being surrounded by spring and its beauty.
tee boogie
Fantastic place to see and visit. It was still cold in April when I visited, but plenty of flowers to see! Must go back later in the Spring! Staff is very kind and the grounds are kept neat and orderly. Don't miss seeing the 500 and 800 year old bonsai!
Cynthia Doughty
Beautiful lightscape during the holiday season.
Shishio Tsukasa
Even though spring is the best time to see the beautiful flowers, you can actually see a lot even in winter! I was there on Jan and I saw so many type of plants, beautiful plants. Love it, would go there again! 😁 …
Laura Butler
The Cherry Blossoms here are very nice here and you can walk leisurely and enjoy the beauty. Although there was quite a crowd enjoying the gardens this past Saturday, it was still quite enjoyable. I hope to make it back through the various blooming seasons. I only wish they would open earlier!
Y B
Gardens beautiful as always.
It it not recommended to go there wearing a mask as you will be walking and it will be hard to breath and enjoy picture taking.
I would wait till mask wearing is past.
Melissa O'Connor
Have been here in the past for the Cherry Blossom Festival, but stopped by again to enjoy the gardens without the crowds and with a different variety of plants. The rose garden was great — excellent variety and lots of beautiful flowers. Also really enjoyed the conservatories.
Sanghamitra Gupta
At the wake of spring , I visited this yesterday. The Japanese garden is closed as of now. It's under maintenance. The cherry blossoms are yet to adorn cherry esplanade. So keep waiting. Follow the live updates on the website. Rest , if you are a Flora fan like me, put on your walking shoes And visit the place.
Fridays it's free till 12 noon. Rest of the days and Friday after this , it's $15 per adult. If you are an orchid or a bonsai lover, there's huge number of displays for you inside
yuliaoSunny
Love love love this place! Their displays show lots of care and effort, I’d love to spend an entire day here next time when I have time. It’s a shame I came in winter and their Japanese garden is closed for renovation, but their conservatory is awesome, and the bonsai collection is still open to visitors. Their themed gardens (although most plants are not in season) are gorgeous too, it’s so fun walking into Shakespeare garden and spotting quotes I recognize. I was never too fond of Shakespeare during high school but this has sparked my interest and I might go and read his other works that weren’t part of curriculum. This botanic garden is the perfect little place to bring your date or your kids for a meaningful and fun afternoon.
Cesarina Gretha Bosscher
It's good to see some green in this concrete city but I'm glad I went during the free morning till noon time on friday because I certainly wouldn't want to pay for it. I bet there will be more flowers during summer but there are so much more sorts of flowers than tulips, cherry blossoms and daffodils in spring time, was hoping to see more sorts of plants. But it was a nice walk and honestly it was certainly beautiful!
Kat Vancko
Beautiful gardens! We went on a day that was very hot, which probably wasn't the best choice, but I definitely recommend checking out the botanical garden when you get a chance if you like gardens. It's very well done!
J H
Flowers are in bloom. Awesome place for a small picnic. Great for enjoying scenic nature views. Especially good during cherry blossom season. Beer while strolling through the garden? If possible, yes please.
JEN C
Such beautiful garden in Brooklyn ! This week will be the best to see cherry blossom 🌸🌸. 4/24-04/30 …
Mimi Wahinee
Loved the Botanic Garden. It’s free before Noon on Fridays! Totally worth checking it out. My favourites were the 3 greenhouses. The Japanese garden is cute also. The Bonsai section was pretty nice too. The whole garden takes at least one hour to explore.
Kitty Yu
What a precious place. Came here at winter time, it is quiet and can take a nice stroll around the garden. The Conservatory is lovely, there are different areas, like Bonsai, tropical, desert etc.
Olesia Hlyzova
So beautiful, peaceful, and absolutely must visit. A magical place during winter and year around.
Devin Coleman
Don’t forget about BBG in the fall! Beautiful and peaceful. Lots of bright colors and, along with neighboring Prospect Park, perhaps the best place in Brooklyn to enjoy fall foliage. BBG is very much worth the annual membership if you live nearby.
Eva Schicker
Visiting the Brooklyn Botanic Garden always is a pure delight. Rain or shine, the garden awaits each and every visitor with its splendid trees, flowers, herbs, and ponds. The Japanese Garden is one of the most beautiful of its kind on the East Coast, presenting itself as a wonder of garden architecture and mini landscapes. An added bonus is the sight of the turtles sunbathing on the rocks by the waterfall chamber. The herb gardens, lotus ponds and green houses are worthy of a long afternoon visit. And not to be missed is the cherry blossom event in early spring, when all the blossoms are erupting in the many shades of pink.
Nico la
We had a wonderful afternoon here. The Japanese gardens are my favorite. We were too early for the roses. The conservatories are interesting, I liked the bonsai exhibit. The botanical gardens are kind of like an oasis in the city. They do have cafes but we didn't try them.
Ashish Satyabhashak
One of the best place to visit in spring for Cherry blossoms. Place often gets crowded and lines are long to get in. Students with valid ID, only $8 entry fee. Green house with bonsai section is must to visit. Parking around the garden is tough on any given day. Botanical garden staff is always watching and controlling crowd.
Vivian Leung
Free admission on Friday morning which was great. Lots of school trip visiting at the same time though. Still early spring so not much blooming yet, but still lovely garden to walk around none the less.
Justin Rogers-Cooper
Fantastic gem behind and beside the Brooklyn museum. Peaceful place to escape Brooklyn. Lovely settings, recent renovations, refreshing cafe. The Japanese tea house by the pond is a favorite, where you can look for the fish and turtles. Of course, the blossoming of the cherry trees is a major annual event. The rose garden is full of sights and smells not to be missed, either. New additions include the kid’s learning garden near the Flatbush entrance.
Aloys Wijngaards
I loved the Brooklyn botanical gardens! I was here in early Spring, when the beautiful cherry blossoms had just kicked off. I can only imagine what the gardens must be like when there are even more flowers. The conservatory has several areas (temperate, desert, tropical) with beautiful plants. There’s also a space dedicated to bonsai trees. The shop will allow you to start your own botanical garden... definitely worth a visit, it’s a lovely way to balance the hectic NY concrete jungle.
Pauline Leong
Oh gosh the cherry blossoms! Waited patiently for weeks for the rain and clouds to part so I could finally walk under the most beautiful canopy of pink petals. Truly a most beautiful spectacle of nature at it's finest. And one must visit the Japanese garden! So scenic and peaceful. All just a train ride away in Brooklyn.
Michelle Bisanz
Beautiful grounds. There were so many places to walk. Stroller accessible with different separate gardens throughout. I'm going to go next year when the Cherry blossom trees are in bloom. I've heard it's quite beautiful.
Helen Honse
Wonderful garden with a wide variety of seasonal plantings, a serene Japanese garden, a large collection of tree peonies, Shakespeare garden, and a field of flowering cherries. Nice place for lunch too, either at the canteen or cafe. Easy to reach from Manhattan on the subway. Loved it!
Xiao-fang Ruan
Beautiful garden with lots of renovations or changes throughout the years especially the layout with more small roads to allow for inspection of smaller plants . Was here during the matsuri festival and the prices were slightly inflated to 30 compared to 15 of where it used to be and now Friday mornings it's free admissions. But I love the displays and variety of flowers so you can it's somewhat worth it. Staff are friendly here. Loved the matsuri performances! There was drumming, traditional Kabuki dancing and sword fighting . There were other types of performances too but didn't stay to watch. If you do plan to come for this event, make sure to come early as the lines can get super long at the door. Not just admission line but bathroom lines as well lolz.
James Buckley
I visited this location with my family during the winter break. While the plants and exhibits were nicely put together, the age and care for buildings, paths and amenities was showing a clear lack of funding or care. We'll be back during the spring and I hope to update my review.
Cynthia LeBaron
The gardens were not in full bloom but the 'Cherry Walk' and the bonsai trees alone, were well worth the price of admission. If you love beautiful landscapes, this will be a must see the next time your in NYC.
Galyna Shulimova
Nice and cozy botanical garden. The best time to visit is spring but even in winter your will find something interesting to explore.
For many years every Tuesday was free entry. But this year they are changed rules and you can get for free just on Friday morning (till 12 pm).
Afgan Irakson
Now, during Covid pandemic, is the time to visit. you will not be alone, but the huge masses of people you usually have to endure are gone. Yes, many areas are closed, but that's a small price to pay
Theresa
The BEAUTY & SERENITY of this place is AMAZING!! You can always see something different with each Season,, so it NEVER gets old! There have been such BEAUTIFUL changes made! For those who haven't gone recently, you MUST GET HERE!! Put on your comfortable walking shoes and check out 52 acres of AWESOMENESS!!
marylin franklin
What an awesome place to be. Will go again. All the different flowers and trees, so many plants I’ve never seen before. Worth a trip
Karen Bensdon
This beautiful garden has become one of my favorite places in Brooklyn. Always delightful and refreshing to be in nature, and observe the birds, trees and flowers. The Japanese garden and the roses are some of my most frequented parts but there are also gardens for kids and an indoor area for tropical plants. So much, so beautiful.
Joel
This is an awesome garden to stroll around in and take a break from the busy city. They take great care of the plants and walking trails. The events are worthwhile, especially the Japanese Cherry Blossoms (Sakura Matsura) festival. The trees are beautiful, and the events are fun and light hearted.
Dinara G
I love this garden. I'm a member. There are picnic evenings and other activities for members.
I love Sakura park, Japanese pond area. It's so relaxing in the garden. Even you come tired here, you freshen up when you inhale clean oxygen, aroma from flowers. You don't even feel like you are in Brooklyn.
Staff is friendly.
Highly Recommend.
Claraines Peralta
Pro: Great spot and a ton of plants. Cherryblossom season is a must see.
Con: over-priced gift shop and restaurant
Derrick “Cree8tor” Summers
For a different liflghting experience and to see the creations of different artists this was a good experience. Although it was hard to justify the price (even bundled), I felt it was a very nice experience, and worth it.
Compost flower
This is a must visit place in NYC we couldn’t even get through it in a day it’s so large. There is much to see and even a discovery garden that is interactive and great for all ages. If you go I suggest bringing a water bottle and maybe a snack the food and drink is pricey also the Brooklyn museum is nearby which I did not visit but maybe next time. Anyways go here and take lots of pictures the senior and student discount is a steal too.
Milica Kvrgic
This si one small beautiful botanical garden.
You can see a little bit of everything. Outdoor is so peaceful and fresh for a walk.
The entrance is free Friday morning, so you can come in anytime until noon for free.
Katie Hallock
If you happen to be in the area, this place is free on Tuesdays and worth a visit. I went about the second week of July. So I missed out on the rose garden - it wasn't very full at all. However, I loved all of the huge sunflowers and the bonsai trees (especially the one covered in lines!). The lily ponds make for some beautiful pictures and there were lots of flowers in bloom all around them. The architecture of buildings are beautiful, too.
We walked a complete circle in about a little over an hour.
I can't say this is one of the most impressive gardens I've been to. But if I lived near by in sure I'd enjoy walking through on free days!
Aisling Siobhan
Recommended for later in April through to October. There are 4 combined conservatories - I particularly recommend the tropical garden one. The rose garden and cherry walk had yet to bloom but they are lovely in the summer. It costs $15pp but is free one Sunday a month (normally) and free during December also. Definitely go check it out. They do a combined ticket for $25 for the Brooklyn art museum too! Takes about 40 mins on the subway from Manhattan and it's only about 6 minutes walk from the station to the Garden.
Rash 1 (PAKUS TV USA)
Nice place with stunning view and tons of picturesque gardens, bonsai art , flowers etc. I visited few times for photo and videos capture . every time I have loads if beautiful pics and videos . The plca looks stunning and picturesque all seasons, all weathers . Worth visiting, definitely.
Meril Sara Schulman
My favorites are the Japanese Garden and the peaceful stream that flows through much of the garden. A beautiful retreat from the busy city,
Pebbles F.
What an enjoyable place to spend the day. So peaceful, you can lay on the grass to enjoy the quietness & the serenity. Nice to walk around at your own pace and enjoy nature, enjoy the beauty The Botanical Gardens has to offer. Definetley feels as if your away from the hussel & bussel of everyday life. My favorite was all the precious butterflies/bees flying all around the beautifully fragrant flowers. More than enough parking spots on the premises so that's not a concern. The staff/security are so helpful when asking questions too. And the gift shop has so many nices things.
Gin Chen
Free admission every Fridays from 8 am to noon. The earlier you come the quieter it is. There’s also a cafe to enjoy coffee/tea with a small bite while you enjoy the garden.
Ali Sheikh
What a beautiful well kept garden. Check with your local library or your company as you might be able to get free tickets. There is a lot of traffic in the area and parking is not easy as well. May be taking the subway might be a better option. Make sure to eat well before going as the cafeteria is very crowded and long lines to get snacks. Otherwise great place to walk around, take pictures and experience various species of plants, shrubs, trees, flowers etc.
ZHANE Williams
I visited during the September of the Pandemic. Some things are closed, but the major attractions are open. Beautiful park to spend a nice cool day with loved ones
Neriah McBain
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is such a nice mini getaway from the loud city atmosphere. I loved the acclimated habitats they built in which gives you a real feel of the desert, tropical climate and others. I'm an avid fan of flowers and enjoyed the variety they had and the bits of information about each. I definitely recommend it for a family day or even a date.
Luis A. Martínez
My review is from the experience in the Botanic Garden on free days. I have not paid for admission, so I can't talk about if it's worth the amount charged. Fridays before noon is free. Now, I love the garden. I was able to see the Cherry Blossoms and moved around the park. A good place to relax, have a good moment alone or with company, and to take excellent pictures. I'd visit again and just sit there and contemplate the nature. It is easy to get there, subway is really nearby.
BradJill
We just finished a visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to see the cherry blossoms which are early-peak bloom this week (first week of May 2018). This is something we will remember long after this particular trip to NYC.
Within the Botanic Garden, just after the Visitor Centre, you'll find the start of the Cherry Walk which takes visitors through the Cherry Esplanade. Here you will encounter an incredible display of pink. There are four rows of Japanese cherry blossom trees with deep pink blooms and immense colour, a beautiful thing to see and experience.
We spent around one hour sitting under a tree, enjoying the warm weather and beautiful trees. Another 20-30 minutes were spent wandering the Japanese Hill and Pond Garden which was also nice. There were further grounds to explore but our time was short so we ended our trip after 1.5 hours and returned to Manhattan.
Note: The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is open from 8am to 6pm daily with extended hours to 8.30pm on Tuesdays during May. Entrance fee is $15 per adult with special free entry on Friday mornings between 8-12pm between March and November.
Note: For those interested there is a cherry blossom tracker page on the bbg website. This is a good way to see what stage of bloom the trees are at if planning to visit in late April/early May in the future.
Johan Jonsson
Best known for its cherry blossom and Japanese garden, Brooklyn Botanic Garden has something to offer every season.
I come here in March for the witch hazel. Later on in the spring, the tulips and magnolias are wonderful. The rose garden deserves a visit from second week of June and from July the water lily pool explodes in colors.
The Steinhardt conservatory has five different zones (aquatic house, desert, tropical, bonsai and warm temperate). There is also a rock garden, children's discovery garden, fragrance garden and water garden.
Prepare for a long line during peak of the cherry blossom - or make sure to become a member before the visit and jump the line. Memberships are tax deductable to its entirety.
Free admission for all visitors on Fridays 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
Free admission everyday for members of all American Horticultural Society affiliated gardens including NY Botanical Garden and Queens Botanical Garden.
Garden closed on Mondays with some exceptions. Check website or call before visiting.

Awesome place for Holiday Lights.

Dec2022: Went here during the light show and it was amazing had a blast with the art pieces although it was cold but its part of the Brooklyn Winter experience. ❄️☃️🚥🌈 …
Christopher Brooklyn
Really nice. We did the Christmas lights show.. it's called the Lightscape. Well worth it. Great set up. Not too crowded.. and the mullet wine hit the spot. Great for the whole family..a little pricey but screw it.. can't take it with you. More wine please....2022 update.. different exhibits... some are really nice.. some I miss from last year... still a little pricey.. and yes more wine.. more wine.
Thomas H
The matsuri Sakura festival was a lot of fun. Lots to see, do, and eat. The cherry blossoms were beautiful and in full bloom. The tulips were gorgeous and were all shapes, sizes, and colors. The bonsai were incredible. I would definitely come back and visit over the summer and fall.
Alexandra Yusufov
Absolutely love this place! Just try to avoid holidays as it gets very packed and you can’t enjoy the actual beauty of the gardens. Chilly pepper festival gets packed but is always fun.
A V
I used to love going on school trips to this place! Scenery is beautiful. I need to go back!
Lynn Arneill-Brown
Beautiful day even though not at peak fall colors. Still lovely flowers ,colorful berries and leaf textures. And do many happy need and butterflies.
Digital Hassan
This is a beautiful garden, and a recreational and educational place. It is fun to be there all year round. It is certainly a safe place for families and children. Myself and family go there a few times a year and almost always during the cherry blossom season where the garden looks its best. We enjoy very much the annual Japanese Sakura Matsuri celebration which takes place during the cherry blossom season.
We love the very scenic Japanese pond and Hill, the cherry tree rows, Shakespeare Garden and the Water Garden. The Garden is easy to get to by public and private transportation. The Garden also rent its space for weddings and private events and celebrations during off hours. I have attended a wedding at the garden and it was really beautiful and romantic to have it there.
D. Caviness
The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens is a wonderful place to behold nature as it was intended. The grounds are exquisite. You can get loss in your thoughts while surrounded by the beauty and majesty of giant trees, flowering plants, and bushes. If you are visiting New York or you are a New Yorker and don't live in Brooklyn, then, this place is a must see. I highly recommend it! Enjoy!!!
Rachel Inman
A magical place to visit during any season. Highlights include: cherry blossoms in spring, roses in late summer, and the light show in winter. What a gift of a place!
Sandy Lin
4/14 report: Cherry blossoms in the esplanade not fully blooming yet. Probably needs another week. Some surrounding cherries are blooming, esp around the Japanese garden- gorgeous. Prime time for daffodils. Lots of people so best to visit early at 8am.
Jason Chen
Loved it. Had a great time here. There are some wide strips of grass for visitors to relax on. Perfect way to spend a sunny warm day in Brooklyn if you're in the area
Katie Kalin
MY FAVORITE PLACE EVER. probably like this garden more than ny botanic. The cherry blossom esplanade in late April early May is spectacular. And all the other fruit trees in the garden and the water lily pond and the magnolia area by the steps. And the wisteria.
Love.
Staff is friendly. Shop is ok, has nice plants.
Marilou Abruscato
There are so many paths to explore and the rose garden is beautiful when it is in bloom. The gardens are so amazing. It makes for such a relaxing walk and peaceful time.
Ana Zambakhidze
A beautiful and fabulous place
Natalia Christine
Gorgeous. We came too early for the cherry blossoms. Only one tree has fully bloomed.
Herlen
Beautiful at all times of the year. The Lightscape over Christmas time was particularly gorgeous!
FRANSISCA CATHERINE
This garden is very hug and fascinating...I never saw so many great sculptures in a garden like I did in this place.
We need more than half day to really enjoy the place, the flowers, the sculptures..and the whole garden.
Judy Rocco
Went to the light show with the family. It was so beautiful. Definitely worth hitting up next New Years Night!
XL Media e-TV XL Motorsports
Wow what a nice place on a sunny day. Beautiful manner lawns and flowers. I think the garden is too big to cover and enjoy in one day. But definitely a must visit spot in Brooklyn.
Chandramathan Jayachandran
Good place to go on a weekend. 3-4 hours we can spend there and food is expensive inside.
Linda Gor
A nice place to spend a day! Kids are free.
Greenhouses are finally open. A nice display of birdhouses.
Janelle L
Beautiful Park and amazing gardens. Highly recommend
Marilena K.
Unique experience watching the Christmas light show! Hot chocolate is $5 which is expensive for what it is.
Jeremy Lanza
Nice collection of beautiful plants and cacti. Plenty of ice cold water from the fountain under the warm rooms. Beautiful full veggies in bloom during the growing season. Great soundtrack from across the street at the zoo to set the scene
Amy Liu
Went during the Sakura Matsuri and it was gorgeous. Fun cosplayers and events were everywhere! I regret never having gone before, but I'll be going again from here on! There was a tea ceremony event, origami, food, art... Endless things to do. Highly recommended!
Jaimie de la Cruz
Just absolutely Beautiful! I can only imagine how Gorgeous it gets in the springtime! Tuesdays are free admission. Food at the cafe is Amazing with great friendly service!! Perfect place to get engaged ;)
lio spiegler
Always a charming place. While they are renovating a large swath of the northern side of the gardens, the enclosed greenhouses are open and the best part is it's free until April! My son was fascinated by a special exhibition about the microbes that thrive at the bottom of the Japanese garden's brook. The visitors center and the store are full of great things to do and get.
Chantal Soohoo
It’s really beautiful. Best go when it’s cherry blossom season when the bbg is at its prettiest. Unfortunately the shop closes before the garden closes. So if you want to get some plants and trinkets to take home go shopping when you enter opposed to doing it when you are leaving. There is also usually a line to see the Japanese pond and garden.
Megan Hahn
The botanical gardens are always a great place to visit especially in the spring! All three flowers were in bloom and three gardens were immaculately kept as usual. If you're a uni student like me you can also get discounted admission!
Marie C. Chicoine
Definitely better than I expected. The Japanese garden is really cute. I wish there were more flower variety but it was great and I would go again.
Katie Macdonald
So beautiful, no matter when you go! It’s a great place to bring out-of-town visitors or if you just want a fun afternoon activity.
Sueann
Smell the flowers. Touch the plants. Embrace all of the outdoors. Just don’t bring stuff to picnic (it’s not allowed) and wear your walking shoes. Also, if you go on a Saturday it maybe very packed, so give yourself time and grace as you navigate it.
Isabel Baransky
I come all the way from the uws to enjoy the tranquility of this place. Year round they have various seasonal foliage to enjoy. Bring a boom and soak in the sun, listening to birds chirping and butterflies whizzing by.

Always love the feeling of being out of the city when I come here. 10/10 and a must if you’re visiting from out of town
Summana Abdul-Hasib
loved every minute here! it was one of the last gorgeous days, mid-week in october and the garden was spectacular

I think it was quite serene. Me and my girl got there expecting to see the pink flowers but they only bloom in late April / Early May, so seeing that we visited in late September they were very much not in bloom. When we were purchasing the tickets at the gate the attendant was quite unwelcoming to us but we walked around and found a few beautiful areas to take pictures.
It's a quite and serene place. I wouldn't call it a must see and it's not super big either, for some that would mean you won't get lost; for others that would mean it's not really worth more than one visit.
Overall it was ok

We were there with our daughter, Alexis for the Christmas light show!! Incredibly magical!!!

A stunning green space up at the top of Prospect Park. I happened to go on sort of an overcast day with intermittent drizzles, and they didn't even charge us admission, so we got to enjoy this whole beauteous place for free. We went when the sakura blossoms were in bloom, and despite it being a lousy day, everything was nonetheless lovely. The Cherry Blossom Esplanade and the Japanese Hill and Pond Garden really stood out as exquisite applications of the Eastern aesthetic ideals this place embodies, and as a student of literature, I also greatly enjoyed the Shakespeare Garden. The exotic plants in the humid indoor greenhouse and the bonsai collection were also fun to visit. To truly enjoy the unbridled splendor of the gardens, I would like to visit again on a sunny day, but also fully understand that this time, I would have to pay to get in, so I'm waiting for the right day when I can really spend a lot of time there and see everything. An exhibit near the bathrooms (appropriate) also reminded me how places like this are necessary to aid in the natural filtration of water for cities like NYC, and how scary old the sewers are. Thoughtful integration of greenery into a busy city is always a good idea, and not just because it provides a serene refuge from the daily rush.

This place is absolutely gorgeous with so many varieties of trees, bushes, shrubs, and flowers. You will really appreciate nature and the beautiful flowers once you feast your eyes on this gem.
Please try and avoid excessively hot days as I had to leave earlier than I would have liked to due to it being 95° the day I went. If you can't avoid going on a hot day, you can always bring an umbrella to block out some of those deadly sun rays. The gardens do provide water fountains throughout the park if you forgot to bring water.

Beautiful!!!!! Definitely worth a visit. For all ages young and old

Nice place to visit with friends and family. Cafe and car parking available.
Dee From Brooklyn
Beautiful gardens. Amazing to see what plants you can grow right here in Brooklyn. Lots of paths to walk

It was a little chilly and the cherry trees weren't quite out but it was still lovely to walk around with friends and eat our little picnic.

I went with a friend for Matsuri Festival and it was an amazing experience. Entrance fee is $30, but there is a $2.40 surcharge if you buy tickets ahead of time. If you do that, you get in about half an hour earlier and you can experience the cherry blossoms with less people. Food is guaranteed expensive and I don't think it's worth it. They had chicken ramen for $19 and onigiri for $8. Definitely go on a day with good weather because it's pretty miserable if it's raining outside.
Jason Murray
Beautiful space most seasons of the year. My personal favorite are the desert and tropical zones. Great way to spend a day.
Alvin Shin
Great oasis in NYC to spend a day to appreciate seasoning flowers and greenery.
Rahim Hashim
Beautiful walk through, even in the winter time. Make sure to see all the different biome foliage at the conservatory (my favorite was the tropical rainforest greenery!)
YEK
This is a beautiful place, but a lot of the doors are closed. There is nothing more to see than the New York Botanical Gardens.
jess g
Went in the winter when it's free! It's beautiful. Couldn't see everything because it closes at 4. But still lovely. Will probably go again soon while it's still winter!
Anthony Esposito
Always a great time going to the botanical garden. The light show was wonderful!
Saebra Waterstraut
This is my favorite place in all of Brooklyn. Maybe all of New York. Go in June-August to get the peak rose garden experience. There are a hundred + types of roses! In spring the lilacs, cherry blossoms, and blue bells are in full swing. There is seating and bathrooms throughout the park and the gift shop is awesome.
Mr. Worldwide/AFJr
I had just a great time with my family at this wonderful place!! Big botanic garden with a great number of species of plants and flowers. What a beautiful place to take pictures!! Just Beautiful!!:)
Xavier Chan
Go to this place every year❤️, they have more than cherry blossom, don’t miss the indoor garden and 🌹! …
Jack Carman
This has to be one of the best botanical gardens. Impeccably maintained...amazing varieties...blossoms in mid October
Ericka Buyco
Visited for the cherry blossom festival. Not too crowded but I think that had a lot to do with the weather (rainy and wet). Cherry blossoms and scenery were pretty. Super over priced food! Overall I would definitely go back though. I enjoyed the greenhouses.
Hipolito Romero
Beautiful place to visit year round. Some current renovations have restricted the natural traffic flow but still a wonder when the orchids and roses are in full bloom (mid july and mid june, repectively).
Leslie Huesca
First time ever going and I had a amazing time. Looking forward to coming back again.
Lady Lea
These photos were during Sakura Matsuri. It's such a lovely park and pretty largely sized. There are benches to sit and relax, lovely tree overhangs, Japanese landscapes and the bonsai exhibit. I missed the Conservatory but that's next on the list of things to see.
Rose Hoffman
Wonderful light show with music to match. Even the cold night didn't matter. Hot chocolate with Bailys warmed me.
Hiliary Leneweaver
We had an excellent time visiting the tulips and the cherry blossoms. Great activity for a nice day. We bought our tickets ahead of time for a Saturday, the line was pretty long but it did move quickly.
Curtis Hiller
Lovely, even in the fall. The bonsai and cactus were highlights and many roses still in bloom.

Nestled in the heart of the city, Brooklyn Botanic Garden provided relief from the hustle and bustle. It was a breath of fresh air. Pun intended😊. From the exhibitions to our walks throughout the garden, the garden delivered that peace and relaxation we so needed. The rose garden was beautiful and Bonsai museum was intriguing. It was a wonderful experience.
Kimberly Gooch
Always a lovely time, especially the Japanese garden/pond area. Even when it's a little cooler there are still things to see. Spring/summer are better visiting times, of course.
Rob T
Be aware to read the website to see what is open or closed due to covid. I didn't and wouldn't of not gone had I known my favorite thing to do was closed until 'covid', the conservatory. The grounds are nice and the Japan garden while small is nice. I'd of been happier if the price was reduced since there was a lack of places open. Check out the banh mi place in the area as well that's worth the trip. And better priced than food in here. The cherry blossoms times it is packed haven't been to the rose blooms yet. Right now on the weekend it wasn't crowded at all. The ticket sellers are super friendly as well.
Allister Calvin
My first time going in 30yrs. It was absolutely beautiful. We were only there 20min cause of the heat (97°) and my daughter looked like she was going to collapse. I wish the garden shop was cooler and had a bigger/better selection, but I'll definitely be going back to see the rest of the gardens. I actually have all the plants they were selling; except the bonsai, they were just sad
Pushan Singhamahapatra
Great place to spend a day with family and friends. However the $15 entry fee seems a little unjustified, as it feels more a park than a botanic garden. However I will need to return in the summer to see the garden in all of its beauty.
Damon Lesjack
I've visited botanic gardens in dozens of countries around the world and I rank the BBG in my top favorites. Year-round: Winter Dec-March there's the warmth and life in the architecturally marvelous greenhouses with tropical and desert environments. Early Spring there's the magnolias, late April the bulbs, and of course the famous cherry grove and the Japanese garden. Summer May-Sept has many delights in the herb garden, the Shakespeare garden, the pond lillies, the vegetable garden, and more. Fall colors of Oct-Nov are a crispy, cool delight. Great for kids, adults, and BBG will loan wheelchairs to visitors!
Chris Coombs
We were slightly unfortunate that it has been a cold winter and not quite as much had bloomed for this time of year! However, it is well worth a visit and nice to remove yourself from the madness of Manhattan! It is free on a Friday morning but only $15 for adults the rest of the time. The Japanese Garden was beautiful!
Troy Toney
Very friendly folks running this place from the ticket seller to the guy running the snacks and drinks counter. Helped this out of towner! Beautiful and quiet place to explore!
Nikola Stanchev
Different categories of gardens. Plenty of lakes and small channels. Beautiful place with lots of flowers and plants.
Lani C.
It’s a beautiful landscape & lots of places to sit & relax.
Farin Chowdhury
Interesting and beautiful plants to see. Could have more places to eat or buy drinks because it's a huge garden and you get tired. The best time for visiting is the beginning of spring - that time there are events (and lots of cherry blossoms!), and it's a perfect place for taking photos. Ticket price is a bit high, but I think it's worth visiting once an year.
Laura Whitney
I visited BBG twice, once in 2015 and once in summer of 2017 on my first date with my now fiancee. I absolutely LOVE the rose gardens, so so beautiful to me and one of my favorite places in the the Garden. As you walk through the many areas of BBG you can hear and see different birds and other wildlife. I spent 10 minutes trying to get a picture of a cardinal for my father! I am now also partial to the Koi Pond even though I'm terrified of those fish, because my fiancee loves them. <3 It really is beautiful once I get past my fear. Overall, a wondrous magical place full of beauty that everyone should get to experience at least once!! Did I mention there's a gift shop? Also every April there's a weekend dedicated to the Cherry Blossoms and I just missed it this year, so bummed.
Ian Persaud
The garden is beautiful year round as there are indoor and outdoor sections. The magnolia cafe is on the grounds and that place makes DELICIOUS food. #nature

Nature is full of wisdom and kind spirits. Here you will find not just heavenly plants and flowers, but also chirping birds, in red, blue and orange color little cuties flying towards you, sometimes waiting in your path with their smiling bird eyes. Even chipmunks jumps out from rose bushes to greet you! And the funny squirrels are running around. It be er gets old walking in the spice garden and the eatable garden. There's something sacred, Godly, mischievous, glamorous, and satisfying in plants, birds, fruits and nature. That, iPhones or technology will never be able to meet: the innate basic connection of human and nature!
G Aquino
Came in early winter, when much of the foliage has wilted, but still had a great time walking around and enjoying the beautiful winter scenery. The park is very easy to navigate and slopes gently in places.
Aisha Akhter
Beautiful gardens and wonderful way to pass the time. We went early Friday morning (free admission from 8-12pm March through November) and enjoyed walking around. I'd suggest going then too because 1. free and 2. way less crowded. I can't picture myself enjoying as much on a packed weekend. I'd say bring a book and hang out for as long as you can.
Steven B.
It was a very good way to spend a beautiful Easter Sunday. The line to buy tickets looked really long yo get but it was a very fast line. I still recommend buying tickets online though.
Jennifer T Napoli
My favorite place in Brooklyn to visit.
The Japanese Hill and Pond Garden is gorgeously serene and beautiful at all times of the year. The Cranford Rose garden is fantastic in May, June, July, September. David Austin roses are so beautiful and the heritage collection is superb. In the winter the Conservatory is beautiful, the Bonsai collection has a 500 year old Sargent juniper.
Hikaru Tasaki
Amazing place to see. Cherry blossom ❤️ you should go there in spring. Not Summer. I went there in Summer. Too hot and Japanese garden (big part) was under construction. But they gave us the free ticket for next time. Very nice!!
Amanda LaSalle
Love the BBG. I’ve gone plenty of times as a Native NY’er. So serene and peaceful. Thankful for all the plants and information.
Jay Chung
Right now there is not much to see around this time. Very little flowers and naked trees. The conservatory was warm and Misty balancing out the cold and windy weather outside. We got extra tickets for the next visit so that was good. Hoping to see cherry blossom very soon with the Japanese garden that's currently under construction
John Hsieh
2019 Update: I visited BGG the week of the Sakura Matsuri event this year, and BGG was a lot more crowded. I've also noticed that the trees around the entrance and the pond was already close to post-bloom, but fortunately, the trees at the esplanade was just reaching peak-bloom. Definitely be sure to choose the timing of your visit carefully if you want the nice cherry blossom photos. The BGG website is a must to check for bloom status.
Came here on a weekday to see the famous cherry blossoms. Glad I've used the BBG website to check the bloom status. Parking on site was not an issue and the place wasn't too crowded (since it was a weekday). It was not the biggest botanical garden, but the Japanese Garden was very well designed. Definitely worth the admission to see the cherry blossoms, but not sure if it's worth the trek to the middle of Brooklyn to just see the other plants during the rest of the year.
Tip: discount admission prices for students and senior (with ID) and free admission on Fridays before noon and winter weekdays (Dec.-Feb.)

Beautiful, peaceful space and well kept. They had a lovely array of various flowers & gardens.
Janelle Marina Mendez
Price: Affordable
Park large and relaxing. There are many exhibits. Some indoors and some outdoors.
Food and drinks
Places to sit and play or relax
Good for families
Ryan Neugebauer
This is a beautiful park! My only complaint is the lack of signs providing direction and lack of markers on the map to orient oneself. You will love the nature!
Rohan Moitra
Beautiful botanical garden with lots of sections and variations in the flora. Great place to come to and wander about, or even perform some memorable ceremonies or photo shoots in.
tanya kolodeznaya
Interesting place with exciting collection of different kind of plants. Now some new zones are in progress, so soon there will be more nice sites. There are several cafes in the garden. Also there are plenty things to do with children of all ages.
Kay D.
A beautiful must see if you're in Brooklyn.
Cheryl Murphy
This is a gorgeous botanical garden! It has beautiful buildings, a place to eat with vegetarian options and is ver clean and well maintained. There are amazing plant arrangements and many awesome plants. There is a popcorn plant, and yes it smells like popcorn. There is also a plant that smells like cocoa. There are many butterflies that are attracted to the plants. All in all it is a beautiful, relaxing place to stroll!
Timiko Lane
The light show was awesome
Trenton Logan
I am surprised to say that the Brooklyn Botanic Garden may be my favorite place to visit in all of New York City. I would not have expected this but alas, I am resigned to admit it here. Amazing gardens, plants, and information. Everyone should come check it out.
John Stanton
The garden is a great escape right in the heart of Brooklyn. Pick a trail, any trail and enjoy the beauty of nature for a couple hours. Take your time and enjoy.
Sally
It is very beautiful, especially in the spring time when there is an event called sakura matsuri where many cosplayers go to. There is still drumming, traditional dances and bento boxes for people to enjoy and relax. It's best to go on the sunny days and cool days because even if there is a lot of people. There are higher chances to make new friends.
Robert Gonzalez
Amazing space, must check out.
Ya No
Garden is beautiful. Just disorganized around parking
Priscilla Syade Hass
Great place for everyone! They take really good care of this place... it's gorgeous!!
Anil V. Job
Lightscape is a must in the winter months!
Lutik Lutik
The time were there wasn't perfect - most of the trees were not in bloom and there was renovation in progress. But it was great anyway. You can see the garden is being taken care of.
Julia Shaffie
Wonderful day with a close friend! I enjoyed walking for 2 hours and didn't feel it!
Mercedez Davidson
Gorgeous place loved it . I went on a school trip with my son they loved it as well. Took my children twice they have great children's activities.
Kim Lawrence
I LOVE FLOWERS and interesting plants. There were many specimens that were thrilling to see, including many magnolias and daffodils in bloom, and interesting varieties of orchids and bonsai (many that were several hundred years old!).
Maya
Stunning park I believe they’re currently under construction so partially you can see some of the areas however they have the most beautiful magnolia garden in the middle the smell is amazing and the different shades it comes in is must see
yahaira franco
This place is amazing, it gets you in connection with nature. Peaceful and beautiful! My family and I had so much fun. You should visit. I recomend it!
Patty Donaldson
Beautiful garden in the middle of Brooklyn. Lots of native plants as well as some that are cultivated. Plan to spend between 1 and 3 hours here. Weekday mornings are less well-attended than weekends.
Shirly Niego
Huge garden with planty of lakes, animals trees and plants of all kind. Real fun to walk around, relax and read about the plants. Free entry at friday morning.
Lennis Rodriguez
I had lots of fun at the Sakura Matsuri festival, it was so beautiful and the presentations were great. Take a moment to see the other stages, they have fun activities for everyone.
Isaac Bendele
The festival was beautiful. We enjoyed walking around to all the different areas. We want to see the gardens in the different seasons.
Ela
Lovely garden. The had a Tori gate and a little Japanese style house that you could go in. They had some koi fish and a turtle in the pond as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the herb and veggie garden as well. It's great to see normal things like that in a botanical garden and they had good information on how you can start a tiny garden at home too.
Theodore Shiveley
11th garden I've visited this year and I can't decide whether it's the best, or Dallas's garden is; either way, among the best. It's stunning, expansive but mostly cohesive and way better than being out in the city. They really care and it shows. Great curation, great variety, just wonderful
A R
Amazingly beautiful especially in Spring season. A must visit at the end of April or first week of May to witness the beautiful Cherry Blossom trees, tulips of almost all the colors and many different types of flowers.
