Reviews of Greyhound
They HAVE GOT to figure out a better method for the toilets. The closer you sit to the back, the stronger the pee smell is then when your nose finally adjusts.... someone opens the door to use the restroom and the smell is back at 100%
First time for me and friend riding a bus. Temperature is cold and bathroom nasty. Seats are comfortable. Overall if I had to do it again I would.
Greyhound bus station New Orleans was better than expected, staff were friendly and helpful, up to date arrival/departure screens, area & toilets clean, Subway situated in station, eye catching murals on walls, definitely one of the better Greyhound stations
I've never had any problems at this station, it's my favorite of all plus it's my hometown love it
terminal isn't in the best area. parking is $22+ to park an hour. no live tenant but boots on cars in parking lot. parking lot is not in the best condition. greyhound ticket was $32 to lafayette which I thought was great. bus wasn't on time, but driver was courteous.
I was a nervous wreck coming here alone at night, but the security guards are on top of their job which has calmed my nerves tremendously and have given me sense of peace!!
A good comfortable bus, nice smooth driver with no fierce stops and starts. Bus on time too. Good experience
The station itself was okay but the person who made my layover here fun was the nice lady in the subway. There were 5 or 6 of us and she not only remembered all our orders perfectly but she joked was us too. She absolutely lifted our spirits after a very long bus ride. Unfortunately right we all got our sandwiches our bus was ready to board so we didn't have time to sit and eat. I only regret not getting her name to wish her well.
The wait is horrible !! Great city so find you something to do up until it's time to get on that bus !
Unfortunately I had to stay all night awaiting the 5:30am and to purchase a ticket. The security was very good and useful also, the sound of jazz to rest.
At 5:00am I was worried because the Cashier was not here yet, for my ticket purchase. Than at 5:30am I was not able to ride the bus to Thibodaux; my reason was the cashier had no change. The driver was very determined for me to understand I can't ride his bus.
So I'll purchase my ticket and wait longer.
Thank you
Catherine Mack
Greyhound was our saying grace! We were stuck in New Orleans during hurricane Ida and the first way to finally get out was the greyhound bus starting running and we bought tickets at a decent price and was able to leave out of New Orleans thank god! Thank you greyhound we were so blessed and thankful y'all accommodated us and enabled us to escape the aftermath of a major hurricane
After 4 TIA's and 2 major strokes I can no longer drive. Greyhound had New Orleans to Houston round trip for $60... 7 hours each way and free WiFi with a few free movies available for viewing on my phone or tablet (Recommend D.C.'s Justice League!). Heck it used to take me six hours to drive there, for the extra hour it was worth every penny to let someone else take the wheel. The bus is about as comfortable as an airplane but without any stewardesses... Greyhound's Union Passenger Terminal in New Orleans was the nicest looking Depot in the entire trip. Baton Rouge and Houston's terminals left a lot to be desired..
Not as good for the money they charge. Overcrowded and lousy comfort. Riders often skip breaks which people need because they are often cramped
Always clean at New Orleans terminal. Amtrak, Greyhound, and Mega Bus share the terminal. Good security also. Can always get taxi Uber in front of bldg. Love this terminal.
The station is clean and well air conditioned. The staff is lacking in social graces but the bus service got me from New Orleans to Biloxi with no issues. The bus was clean
Very clean and nice the subway workers are so kind! I see some people had bad experiences with a specific security guard but he was friendly and funny when we were there an engaged in conversation
It’s functional and in a city of old buildings, I’m sad that it’s so modern.
Very organized and clean. Friendly professional staff. Go Greyhound!
It was nice enough space on this bus but again no one check anyone temperature coming in or getting on the bus. But never again i ride another greyhound bus I'm still traumatized
Place was clean. The security team needs to learn to respect people though. Most were good a couple needed some more training
Picked up my list daughter! Thank you to the Alabama police officers getting her a ticket home, I have my daughter safe again.
I was surprised with the cleaness of this place . Customer service was o.k. Security was interesting . The female was very nice. There was a Male there and he was extreemly rude when advising what appeared to be homeless folks around . He had a job to do but a bit of kindness goes a long way .
This huge terminal is actually a common station for all greyhound, Megabus and Amtrak. The facilities looked really good. Compared to the nice station the restroom was not so clean though. The only food store was subway. However, the food was good. It's subway after all. I liked my transit in New Orleans.
I'm a person that uses this bus a lot and enjoy my peaceful ride to where I'm going. But the guy at the front desk doing the tickets has a VERY nasty attitude problem even when you're trying to be patient with him. Mind you, I've seen him get into it with a few people a few people before I even made it to him so I spoke with east trying hard not to anger him. This time he insulted me by saying I have a VERY strong odor; even though I knew I didn't or I'm sure my friends would had said something about it. So be careful of the guy at New Orleans, Grey Hound.
Their stops are dirty bath room are deplorable and only have vending machines for food I mean junk. First driver was new (had trainer) must have been his very first drive. Ride was rough. He would gas and break constantly. Thank goodness we had a different driver at first stop in Tallahassee
I ride the express and got from ATL to New Orleans in 10 hours which wasn't too bad. The bus was clean but cramped up. The driver was friendly and helpful. I might ride again if I had to but no time soon
The woman was quick to get to the point and ask questions and was kind enough to inform me my ride was late late late and refunded my ticket and had me on my way
Bus Stations are on my lit of places to try to avoid, but sometimes there's not a way around it. This is the nicest Greyhound station I've been to. I was slightly offended and felt a bit like big brother was too watchful when the security guard insisted I pull my hood off of my head so the camera could clearly see my face. It was 25 degrees outside.
Staff is rude but other than that its a large building worth a lot of seating. The boarding process has gotten better over the last few months. And great to have Subway and a souviner shop inside the building. Yes there are a few homeless around but it's New Orleans there everywhere anyway
Great staff make it fun
I loved their facilities lots different traveling options. Just some rude subway workers.
Awesome! It was the location for "Polar Express" during the Christmas holiday. The lobby was clean and there was good vibes. Has a wonderful experience. Will go again!! Kudos to New Orleans!
We went by bus from Greenville to Charleston. An interesting ride. Suggest you take food as the stopover on the way only had vending machines. Cheerful and efficient drivers. Seats OK.
I was unable to print my ticket at home, this station does not have any kiosk to print tickets. However, the lady at the counter was very kind and printed one of for me. Boarding was suppose to begin a 5:55 for a 6:15 departure. We did not begin boarding until 6:10 causing a delay in our departure. I see no reason why we should not have left on time.
All the station is clean, same for the restrooms. They have a giant clock on the front desk but it has no clock hands.
Good service with convenient schedules.
Horrible experience I was supposed to catch the 825am bus to Atlanta I arrive an hour early we did not leave until 1025am. Was told that the 825am bus was delayed somewhere in Texas but they had no contact with the bus at 900am we were told that everyone from the 825am will be put on the 1025 bus so I asked what would happen when I made it to Atlanta for my connection? I was given the generic answer that I would be reticketed and was told that the 825am (standby) driver was actually on site but did not want to leave until 1025am. When time to load the buses approach the 825 and 1025 passengers were separated and I was put on the 1025. As we departed New Orleans the driver made it a point to let us know he wasn't a greyhound driver as he was from Trailways and had only been there 3 days. The driver made it known something was going on with Greyhound and what ever it was it's crazy. Anyway, the bus I was put on made all the stops to Atlanta where I miss my connection in Atlanta going to Chattanooga. I arrived at Atlanta at 1100pm and put on the 0445 to Chattanooga which in turn I missed my appointments that morning.
And go to Greyhound a lot and I always find Miss Betty greeting you at the door she's a wonderful person the best worker that I've encounter with Greyhound great job Ms Betty keep up the good work
Every thing was smooth, bus came as scheduled, they have vending and t.v.s while you wait. Out side is a different story, your in the middle of downtown where there is a big homeless problem.
I like it here. I met a couple really cool people and left. Only thing that isn't cool about this greyhound is all the homeless crazy people that live or hustle under the bridge.
Beautiful station but felt very uncomfortable with management. They ruled it like a prison. The bus waiting area is separated from the train waiting area- and if you cross into the 'other side'- there will be hell to pay!
I give three stars the bus leaving Atlanta going to New Orleans at 9:00 didn't come until 12:00 so everyone made it late on the destination
This train depot/ Greyhound wait station is low keyed, clean, secured area. A nice way to decompress before we boarded Am-Trak return train to the Chicago-land area.
Took a bus headed to bullhead city AZ from New Orleans, LA. First bus was comfy but 2nd bus line was cramped and awful. Last bus from Phoenix AZ to bullhead city was roomy and comfortable although overcrowded. 50 plus hour trip and I was exhausted!!
Every greyhound stop between Atlanta and new Orleans sucked.. no food nothing good in vending machine .. Only new Orleans station was traveler friendly
It's a bus terminal. there's over priced food, it's big and kept very clean. There is usually some super sketchy hanging around there at night but the guard is just inside the door. Tell him and he'll run the off
Atlanta greyhound is the worst greyhound, people are extremely rude if it was up to me I would FIRED everyone who work there 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 …
Busses could be cleaner , but overall the best station I've been in in Louisiana so far. Staff is friendly and helps you out and bus drivers keep you safe and informed.
The greyhound agents and staff are professional and informing also the bus drivers are friendly and safe ..however the Wi-Fi sucks and the buses are hardly on time ..my bus was supposed to leave at 10:15am but the bus never showed and I was informed that the bus wont arrive until 1:00pm
Clean. Lots of seats and charging stations. Orderly line up. Same for Amtrak in the same terminal which I love. 👍🏽 …
Service is okay. I wiped down my seating area. It's clear they do not wipe down the buses, seats and areas very often.
Otherwise reasonably good service
A 10 star for Decades and Decades of Professional excellent Character service. Thanks Greyhound for the wonderful Professional service. We all love you.👍👍 …
Decent i just love new Orleans
It's okay just don't hang outside please.
Bus station clean&neat.Good to walk into this.Security tough&uncooperative. Not welcoming at all.Bad rep for N.O.
Employees could be friendlier. They expect you know what to do. It would be confusing to a first time rider.
Pleasant and helpful employee at the desk. Parking was not a problem on site, it was not during a holiday season however. Clean bathrooms.
Clean station. Downtown New Orleans. Greyhound, Flix, Megabus and Amtrak all in one location.
I don't like this bus. When I heard about the Mega Bus I road it from New Orleans to San Antonio Texas. I would ride it over anything! Tha Mega Bus has everything u need. Tha Mega Bus Rock's! ❤️👍👌 …
In July 2016, went to pick up son, come in on the bus we had a family ER. It was cheaper to ride the bus from base. Never saw the inside just the outside. Very clean
I think New Orleans have the cleanest Greyhound station. Bathroom is very clean and not smelly. Lovely.
Megabus share this location with Greyhound. Great idea. Service was good. Megabus is Megabus cheap until you miss your bus. No refunds.
They need to update the building. It's like from a 1920's horror movie. The landscaping is nice. Get a live musician in there and update the place. Please guys.
Fast friendly service
The staff (managers included) ALL have horrible, unprofessional, & unpleasant attitudes. But the station is cool & the lighting is good inside of the building.
Biggest station I've seen so far. If you are visiting New Orleans they have a complete list of the transportation system along with the tourist attractions.
Riding on Greyhound definitely isn't like what they advertise on TV. 😅 …
They changed my schedule 3 times I sat at the bus station from 10:30 in the morning until 5 that evening
It was alright, bus came on time, the only thing is that the bathroom needs more cleaning and more food restaurants
The staff was very helpful and made me feel comfortable my first time riding. That's as far as I went into the bus station
I guess for NYE & NYD it was a good, quite experience . Maybe the fridget air @ times helped too. But this GH station was best compared to the northern states.
We were actually using Amtrak they are in the same station they looked very clean and not a lot of rif raff there were two officers there as well.
I loved it. They have a nice gift shop and lots of ice cream. Very helpful for the disabled.
FANTASTIC FACILITY, VERY CLEAN & EASILY ACCESSIBLE. GREAT RIDE ON THE BUS.
Good train station if u ask me, I've yet to have any problems...staff is also very friendly and the security helped me when I arrived and was without a phone...
A lot of new addition at station shops an food venue more vending machines security desk more organized makes an easy wait for you
They should have the police clear out the bums that hang around this bus station. I traveled by bus to New Orleans and I felt so unsafe waiting on my pick up ride.
So far so good. Still waiting for bus! In side excellent.!
Fast and safe ride from Mobile to New Orleans, Good fare, super driver and the staff was very organized.
I love it
Amtrak staff was so kind, especially the African American lady with the cute mini afro.
The stop in Baton Rouge was less than desired. Rude people that work there especially that idiot who cook at the eatery in the bus station
Wasn’t that bad but not too good either. The employees were a little respectful but they don’t treated like they really care.
It's Greyhound. Long bus wait times. Wasn't there for myself, but it took my friend several hours to get from New Orleans to Baton Rouge.
Amtrak service is,"GREAT &THE People THAT Work ARE VERY NICE, HELPFUL WITH PERSONS IN, NEED OF A Wheelchair "
Professional and on time. Clean comfortable terminal and buses
I took my Grandson there so that he could get back home.. the terminal was clean, somewhat hectic at 7:00 am...but all in all he got back to Nashville.. late that day.
Staff was mostly rude, the buses were late, and the seats were unbearable
Great service clean bathrooms parking lot needs work
Nice customer service answered all my questions...only bad experience at the subway inside the greyhound...would not recommend. Bad attitude and no meat on subway...
It's a normal Greyhound station. Other than homeless people constantly asking for stuff it was fine
Would have been 5 stars if not for people standing around for no reason.
Good company to travel with, I never could get any one on the phone to answer any questions, found them more helpful in person.
Behind Jacksonville Florida, the cleanest Greyhound station.😎 …
Normal bus station all types of situation going on ,but bus was on time a service was great.
One of the cheapest ways to travel, but sometimes you have to deal with undesirables. Lots of homeless in the area, so keep an eye on luggage and your wallet.
Really clean
Nice area 😀 …
Has plenty of vending machines and seating. Even has a New Orleans Marti Gras store! Armed security. Very clean and large restrooms.
Cleanest Bathrooms... Phone recharging stations...great food service...Top Flight Security...
Same vicinity as the Amtrak Train station. Travel as alternative plan. Ticket counter agent was very helpful and friendly.
Nice big bus station, security guards are present very clean
My brother took greyhound from Atlanta to New Orleans, no problems and on time
Site charge my card twice because their system was down.
Bus and Antrack Trains. They are running on time and their passa ver count appears ro be up.
They give good service and the Driver well I've going back and forth in the ten years yesa go Greyhound.
Decent enough but its literally right next to a drug rehab so be weary of panhandlers.
Spread out over a large area, and not usually crowded. Services like Amtrak and others are also available here.
It is quite convenient to have Greyhound and Amtrak together in the same station. I travel quite often.
Buses ran on schedule and bathroom was clean
A nice clean station in downtown... A very Nice place to visit if you are traveling!
Actually I went to the modal station work greyhound was located but I rode the Amtrak train to New Orleans
It safe there and nice people
Nice bus/train terminal. Was there over Christmas, well lite, and clean
Believe it or not this location was clean. I caught the Megabus. The staff was friendly.
Used the service to get to NOLA from ATL, pretty good, and definitely good prices
Very nice graphics on the walls and I liked it being very spacey.
It was a long trip, but they were right on time !!!
Considering it is in a big city, it is clean and not as many loitering people
That's how I travel prefer driving thanks anyway love the company's accessibility 🚅🎋🎉🎄🎍🎇🗽🎀 …
One of the nicer bus stations for sure! Also has a subway inside.
The staff was very kind and efficient.
My only complaint is that the staff is loud here. Other than that, it's ok.
It's always late every time we visited.
There's always some type of problem with the buses. Crappy scheduling.
Great website information and detailed rules and regulations on their site
Some of the employees are rude but it is safe to be there considering the bad area it is in.
clean well kept note this is the New Orleans Amtrak / bus station
was the cleanest bus stain i had been in that whole trip.
Greyhound and Amtrak in the same building. Miss the bus and catch the train
Looks just like I remember it 40 years ago
They're fixing that place up and making it more modern.
Very helpful and friendly staff
Good experience. love the internet and movies!!!
Quite big. You have to watch out for the lines, to make sure you are not on the wrong queue.
It was ok. Rude security guard
Small terminal but the staff is amazing. Trolley Station is nearby
Best greyhound experience I have had.
Cept people calm due to a lot of delays and they were very friendly
Nook
Get the hell out of town or arriving you will like this bus and train station.

Only problem was bus was delayed... Horrible accident on the way to destination... Otherwise. Go Greyhound...
Smooth and easy boarding, nice quiet ride.
Beautiful station
Probably the best Greyhound station in the South in which I've been.
Great exp
Never had a problem here. Subway inside.
The I only problem I have is the bus is always late.
My bus was on time this time.
Very nice for a Greyhound bus station.
Neat and non-congested. A higher standard of service is possible.
I haven't ridden the greyhound in years. I was pleasantly surprised
Very, very clean bus station
Clean busses and no long wait times
