Reviews of Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots
Pretty crowded but very spacious during Jazz fest! Nice atmosphere tho. Be sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and drink lots of water - sun is a killer there!
Place was nice. Staff wasn't the most helpful with us finding where we needed to go but eventually we made our way. Betting was easy and fun. Drinks aren't cheap but were good.
What can you say other than Happy Jazz Fest!!!
Last weekend of April and 1st weekend of May for 53 years.
What a lineup after 3 years of no music.
Beautiful day at the races! 4th race, ghostly girl to win and won!
Black and Gold room for our ladies event with the parade of prizes.
Food was amazing too.
Website isn’t clear about whether tickets are mandatory or not so we got tickets for clubhouse level unnecessarily. It was crowded and the bar line was extremely long. Next time I wouldn’t buy tickets and would enjoy sitting in general admission section. It was clean and well organized, despite how unclear the website is about tickets.
Nice place. Pretty impressed. Fair Grounds competes well with the biggest names in Race Tracks. Cash only at the far gate is a drag.
Went here for Jazz Fest, Red Hot Chili Peppers rocked the main stage
Bring back memories when I use to work here... Now I am MEDIC HERE. BEAUTIFUL PLACE... LOVE TO SEE THE HORSES 🐎 …
I've never been much interested in gambling and never visited a casino. But horse racing has always held an allure for me. Betting aside, watching those magnificent trained animals pounding toward the finish line evokes in me images of Comanches, Custer, and Civial War battles. If they were pounding down upon me I would feel a real terror about what was going to happen next.
My husband and I had never been and we were invited by a friend. It was really fun. Very crowded but we're always up for new experiences. They had ostrich and zebra races in between the horse races.
Not a bad, neighborhood casino, staff helpful. Warm atmosphere, machines generous at times. Horseracing on tap. Nice proximity to downtown
Jazzfest both weekends !! I am.blessed. Thanks Smitty's Seafood and G&D's towing for all your hospitality and great food..
Large venue for the jazz fest. Multiple stages, huge selection of food and drinks. There are a number of large shade trees to get out of the sun. Dont miss the crawfish Monica! I do recommend not trying to stand near the stage during a big name act. With the Louisiana heat and humidity it could be a problem with 60 thousand people behind you. Otherwise, enjoy the seemingly endless cloud free days.
Went here on a Sunday afternoon on a whim after eating brunch at Toast. We got a groupon which paid for itself and then some. For $24 you get admission for 2 to the grandstands in the upper levels, 2 books about the days races, and 2 $10 food vouchers that can also be used on drinks. The weather was perfect and our whole group had a ton of fun!
Needs better parking. Went for Jazz Fest in 2016. Then other people wanted to park us for fifty dollars but wanted us to leave the keys to our truck. No way! We parked at a residential home in their back yard for twenty dollars! Very nice man. Also some of the residents get together and barbecue and cook other food on their street corners. So awesome!
They put grown folks out at 12 when kids are terrorizing the city all hrs of the day and night. It's a casino and should at lease be open later at lease till 2am. Than to have numerous machines that's been out of service for months to still be in there is ridiculous let alone numerous machines with buttons broken don't work or u can't play certain amount do to buttons been broke! The board of commission needs to start inspecting these casinos 🎰 here in New Orleans and surrounding parishes. Folks go to these places to try and win taking chances gambling and for these machines to not be operating right or fix is a slap in the face to gamblers. What rights does gamblers have beside not revisiting the place? The buttons jam don't press etc it's dead wrong. They shouldn't be in the casino if their not working! Remove and replace with something else.
Winter horse racing and year round slot casino. Track is fun, with plenty of races on the Kentucky Derby trail in the spring. The dining room there produced a fine fried green tomato dish and a serviceable red beans & rice. About 600 slots for your gambling fun.
My favorite new orleans thanksgiving tradition, love the track, bar needs more bartenders, take awhile for a drink but totally worth it
This place has many events. One of my favorites was the wiener dog racing. Lots of outdoor bleachers for a really low price. Also, their food that you can order at the counter inside is surprisingly SO GOOD. Also, jazz fest is held here and they do a complete transformation of the field. You can’t even tell it is used to race horses (and wiener dogs)
1st. Time experience and I had a great time. Also has a casino.
We were pleasantly surprised! We came to see our first horse races ona Friday afternoon and were greeted by people who graciously instructed us on how to place our bets and told us what was going to happen around us that we could choose to to enjoy as we wanted. Loved the horses being walked right up to where we were standing to view before placing our wagers. An employee from the track also checked on us and helped show us important things to notice in the program and to explain what was happening in the races.
The bathrooms at the track are the cleanest public bathrooms I have ever been in! The drinks in the bar were weak, but it was attached to the casino so it was not a surprise. Fun experience! Would highly recommend for entertainment.
Jazz Fest is what typically brings me here in spring. Watching the beautiful horses run in autumn is nice, also.
Went to the Jazz Fest had a great 4 days . Fun times .. you should go . Great music and people !
We had the pleasure of checking out the 50th Jazz and Heritage Fest for the very first time! While it was hot and sticky, the atmosphere was incredible! The music was legendary and the food was delicious! Check this place out, its worth the crowds at least once!
I love the atmosphere here and the employees are mostly long time employees I look forward to seeing every year.
Came down here for Jazz Fest and it was a BLAST. Super great venue for hosting, and I really hope to come again.
Love the Thanksgiving day race tradition in the city! Old New Orleans and hipster nola unite for the day!
Web for jazz fest. Enjoyed but would have been nice to have a few more shade options.
Alot of fun.
I always have a great time at the Fair Grounds. Don't winn a lot of money, but I enjoy coming.
My first time at JazzFest and I was very happy with the location. It can be a drag if the weather is bad (which it was this year), but overall, the experience was still great! I will be back next year.
Lots of fun & great place to people watch on opening day (Thanksgiving).
My husband and I are here almost every other night just for some simple fun and hopefully a jackpot. The staff are all kind and friendly
A must visit. Worked here for a couple weeks to set up Jazz Fest 2022, very nice racetrack, clubhouse, courtyard (with outdoor / smoking slots) and many well-kept stables. Very nice grass on the infield, track sand is continuously raked and smoothed, friendly security & staff, ample parking, and a great little corner bar across the street from the main entrance.
One more fun place to go in nola. Great service from friendly people.
I went opening day & had a great time. The food was awesome & the races were exciting. The wait service was less than desirable, but it was Thanksgiving day & they had a lot of guest. You would think a $150 ticket to the clubhouse would yield better service though...
Home of the most Awesome Music Festival in the World, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Really fun. Not many selections on food. Downstairs isn't very clean
There was a horse race earlier. Sorry, I missed. However, the Casino was busy. Don't play a lot but enjoyed myself. Won 30!🤣😂No problem with parking. Oh! You have show you either Negative or vaccinated. …
Loads of fun on thanksgiving day. Everyone's in some sort of getup or costume. Generous turkey dinner too
I had a great time at Jazz Fest although they took away the bleachers that were lined up with the Acura stage just to save a $100,000 but they still kept the bleachers by the Congo stage,I think that was wrong but thats politics in New Orleans
I come here because I usually have a booth selling hats and artwork from Haiti in Congo Square at the Jazzfest. The Jazzfesr itself is awesome. I've never seen a horse race here before, but I assume its a cool place to watch horse races.
JazzFest: wow. Not my first visit but no where near my last. If you’ve been here and not experienced the energy of your fellow man/woman then I’m sorry. The music starts the story but the environment creates the crescendo that makes it an experience. In my time visiting, the likes is Dumpstaphunk to John Fogerty have dominated each stage and I’ve left always asking for one more song. Fabulous venue and selections supported by a thankless staff of individuals that continue the positivity throughout the event.
Large outdoor area that caters to all ages with several big stages as well as smaller stages and a variety of Acts. There are also plenty of booths for arts and crafts and learning about the history of jazz fest.
Love they sports betting close to my house😁 …
Love this place,! It's way better than Harrah's casino! More penny slots, clean atmosphere, no smoking allowed but they have a patio with more slots to play while you smoke. Love this place! Excellent assortment of slot machines, check them out! Open from 9 am till midnight.
I was wondering if my 4 year old would like it but my fears were unwarranted. She had a great time got to pet the horses and enjoyed telling me who was going to win. made a whole day of it.
Nice clean place, but whoever slowed my number 4 horse down and caused it too come in second instead of first needs his license removed. That cost me $2,000. But the place is great.
Jazz fest never disappoints. You have to come and listen to the locals play, best weekend. You will talk about for decades
Jazz festival 2022 was an amazing experience from a working standpoint...I appreciate you all at L&R. We are the first line of defense with little to no incidents!
I attended the JAZZ FEST 😍 finally after 2 1/2years due to COVID-19 that held at the fair grounds! It was amazing to enjoy family, friends and Great 🎵🎶 music!!!!And the food was super delicious 😋 …
The Jazz festival was great 😍 …
Great place to go buy art during Jazz Fest
First time it was great, and won some money
It’s a game of luck but you can always feel like a winner
Well maintained property and facilities. The price is a bit higher than expected but not overly predatory. We enjoyed our experience here.
Another thing off my bucket list! Loved it.
Attended Jazz Fest 2019 for my 40th birthday.
Peppers rock 1st Week
Safe crowds, great music prevails
Peace, Love & Jazz Fest

Jazz Fest= the BEST music and food!
Not so sure about this place yet. I think of casino's as each on I think about the city. New Orleans has never been a fortunate area for me and they aren't really friendly when it comes to comps. Can even put in a dollar bill at Harrah's. Because of that I'd rather go east or west then deal with New Orleans to get their. But as a casino I thought it was clean and comfortable and had just about every game I like
Awesome time Ms Ross exceeded expectations, and the fried chicken was delicious!
Jazzfest was great. Just should have opened handicap parking earlier and had the waiting line to get into handicap parking better organized.
First time stepping inside. I was blown away at how big it is inside.
It was so exciting, we were there for the Louisiana Derby it as so awesome! Every thing was clean, and the staff were all so helpful, use valet it’s worth it!
I cannot speak highly of the new security chief and his team...
A $100 bill was found on the floor and two people were arguing over who's it was but security was already on top of it. They ran back the camera footage and lone and behold... IT WAS MINE. Apparently, it fell out of my pocket and I didn't notice. It's not just them, it's the entire staff. I once left a ticket in a machine and one of the clean up guys brought it back to me. The doorman always remembers my face and the waitstaff knows my drinks and remembers ny name and knows my drinks.
Fairgrounds might not be the spot for you to his huge jackpots, but if you want a place to wind down after work, come have a couple of drinks and play the penny slots. This place has got a very friendly down home southern feel unlike the stale corporate atmosphere of SOME CASINOS.
One last thing. Anyone who says the service ain't good here needs to start tipping.
My family reserved a table in the clubhouse on Thanksgiving. We were on the 2nd row and had a great view of the track. We moved around between the outdoor area and the clubhouse and everything was easy access. The buffet was available for 3 hours. The food was okay, but I really didn’t expect a 5 star meal in the first place. One of our servers was awesome. It was her first day and I never would have known if she didn’t tell me. The other guy was not the best. We asked for things multiple times and we never received them. Also, it took him a long time to bring our check. We were ready to go and I had to keep checking to see if he was around so that I could pay. Overall, it was a nice way to spend Thanksgiving and I’d love to return again to try out the regular dining menu.
Beautiful historic track. Up close access to paddock and track.
Fun place to spend some time in New Orleans. We really enjoyed betting on the horses. Didn't win anything but still really fun. People are a pleasure.
Played at Jazz Fest over the weekend and of course it was great. Great food, fun and folks lol.
At the 50's New Orleans jazz festival
I was there for the Jazz Festival. The grounds are beautifully maintained. I didn't see an ant as I sat on the ground for hours. That's is incredible difficult in the south. The festival is a top of the line amazing experience. The venue is a large part of the reason. The large crowd was well care for. Trash , toilets and fabulous food was handled perfect.
Did get to see any live racing, but the casino was very clean. Loved that they are requiring proof of vaccine and kept it so clean
Liked it a lot better 30 years ago when you could bring a cooler & your own BBQue pit. Jazz Fest is too commercial now. My husband camped out in the rain for Rolling Stones tickets only 2 be cancelled. He had a hard time with long walks to get money refunded. Don't think I'll be doing Jazz Fest anymore. It was great b4 the world attended. Too crowded now4my enjoyment.
Went to see The Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Jazz Fest! Awesome show, very crowded!
Went here for jazz fest and as always had a blast. It's the perfect location for the event. The event it's self is just filled with fun. You have good food, music and drinks, really what more could you want?
Very friendly staff, food was not good at all but we played some slots for awhile
I have been going to the Racetrack Casino since day 1 when they first opened! I enjoy casino gaming and mingling with people I sit in the mist of! The waiters/waitresses are pleasantly nice! My recent visit I won a little something extra but no comparison to what I have loss over time....but that's why it's called gambling! NOTE: If only I can win something really big!!!🤩🤩🤩
Went to Jazz Fest a few days. We used the bus shuttle, it drops you off near the entrance.
Fifty years of the venue they have a great system. The stages are set up nice. Sound was good.
Pleanty of food and drink options.
Staff is great, helpful and very polite.
Lots of port a pottys around the track.
We will go next year.
A great place to spend some time. The people watching is fantastic and the Bloody Marys made it even better. Can't wait for next Thanksgiving!
I have been to the fairgrounds for the Jazz Fest. I was very impressed with the facilities and layout. The festival brings in several hundred thousand people a year and I still think it's one of the most overlooked music festivals. They have absolutely incredible talent each year and I highly recommend checking out the festival at least once in your life.
Only ever come here for jazz fest but the place is wonderful when Jazz Fest is on.
Great park, very very good food.Everybody that worked there couldn't have been nicer.
Installing a new 5G Cell phone tower.
Fun!
Enjoyed New Orleans Jazzfest at Fairgrounds after Two years of pandemic silence. It was pure joy of sharing music & smiling faces. Jazzfest is usually scheduled the last weekend of April thru the 1st weekend of May and always a good time filled with a rainbow of music from "everywhere" 😎 …
Volunteers for jazz fest 2022. Always a good time out there
This a prospective from a local New Orleananan. I come to this establishment at lease. 2 or 3 times a months and I have been gambling at this establishment for several year. First, I think management (floor) could be a more friendly than they are. This gentlemen whom I believe is floor management, who I alway see has his arms folded as if he watching to see how customer are behaving. I have encounter him in passing and he has never smiled or even a slight greet. He manner is very intimidating. I am sure if I am suppose to be here to enjoyed my evening or look over my shoulder. He can use a class in customer service. I believe this attitude has transcend to all the other employee.
The cash cage is not friendly. I was there last night, said hello to the cashier, she never responded, in a rude voice, told me to sign my name for ID purpose without an explanation.
Your maintenance crew for what I can see do their job. They are polite when removing use drink cups or bottles.
I come here to relax and do a little gambling. I don't want to feel like I am doing something wrong. These personalities should be corrected. This is just a place to gamble, no more no less. I want to feel relaxed in this place, not like I AM DOING SOMETHING WRONG. WOULD APPRECIATE A WARM WELCOME. And I am sure I speak for a lot more people.
Thank You
check your customer service in the Casino. I am a Guest, not a invader.
Great memories and new ones with a first timer!
Jazz Fest of course! They do a surprising good job directing traffic and the flow of people.
I didn't actually go into the Fair Grounds Racetrack and Casino today, however from experience their food and drink services was always on point. The gaming action there was always exciting to watch. Highly recommended.
A New Orleans Landmark worth a visit for a day of horse racing and dining. Great menu selection; famous for their corned beef sandwiches. Clubhouse reservations are a good idea. Always a great time! Plenty of parking available. Casino is available on site.
Besides hosting New Orleans jazz and heritage fest, there is also horse racing here locally. Season starts on Thanksgiving and runs through early April. Definitely splurge and get into the clubhouse and if possible book a table. Makes it easier to spend a day there without standing in line for food or drinks every time you want something. You can also place bets from your table. While the food is good it isn't anything to write home about. Definitely and all day outting or great way to spend Thanksgiving.
New Orleans is healing. Great opening day!
Great place to take the family and watch horse races or Weiner races.
Fun Thanksgiving day activity for the whole family.
I was only here (twice) for Jazzfest, but it was a life changing experience - Jazzfest is just immense with great music coming at you from all sides. The big acts are generally more mainstream, so I suggest going from the time it opens and hit all the smaller stages.. you won't be disappointed!
It is a clean, smoke-free place to play video slots. The staff are helpful and friendly, the food is great and the restrooms are always clean. It would have gotten all 5 stars, but I lost my money.
What a great place to spend the day and have fun. I only make $2 bets. I haven't won anything yet but I also didn't lose much money. My husband actually won $38 on a $2 bet. A great fun, relaxed way to spend an afternoon.
Jazz fest veteran. The fairgrounds does a great job of hosting. You can buy beer other than Miller products in the grand stand. Fairgrounds staff are always friendly and helpful. I look forward to seeing the same crew every year.
Went for Jazz Fest 2 years in a row!!! Amazing food and entertainers. Finally got to see Aerosmith live in concert!! So many artists to choose from. Recommend to all music lovers. Parking is terrible so get there early
Was there this past Sunday at the jazz fest for mother's day. AMAZING!!!
Jazz Fest is always exciting. Great music, food and people.
This is where JAZZ FEST in NOLA is held. It is enormous and exciting. Hundreds of thousands attend each year from all over the world. I try to get to at least one day each year and more if I can. I especially enjoy the Native Louisiana craft area and the artists who come to share their work. The music is amazing and non stop. I have seen some of my favorite musicians at this location.
I also learned on my most recent trip that the Race Track has a special Thanksgiving event involving costumes and big hats: I'm in!!!
Most of the weekend was EXCELLENT! My only really serious complaint would be that they shut down the toilets before the end of the festival and the Porta-potties were disgusting. I was prepared for lack of tp, but the urinals were overflowing. It was awful. I tried to inform management, but I was pointed toward a security supervisor who simply said to file a complaint on the Jazzfest website :-(.
I hope this weekend will be better.
Was there for jazz fest. Awesome food, great vibe, great music.
Went my first time about a week ago. Was given $15 free play automatically for being a new member. Was given an extra $10 after providing additional info later on. Went in, got free play, sat down at a nickel machine and loaded free slot play and won $153.00. I'd say that's a WIN! Definitely going back!
The atmosphere is very pleasant and staff is friendly. I like also that they ask for to see if you have covid card. Love it.
Beautiful track with classy locals. Thanksgiving day races bring out big hats and fancy costumes. Auxiliary races include zebra and ostrich races. The indoor casino is small but very nice. The fairgrounds is home to the world famous Jazz and haritage festival. To be here is to be apart of history.
I tried it out I was told that instead of going to a poker machine place that this place has cards and gives you good money pending what you spend and that part was true however the machines were very tight and just not hot at all the staff was neutral the place was very nice with a huge selection of casino slots
The Fair Grounds is awsome. The slots are not that great, its ok if you just want to get out. There slots doesnt pay off that often, the machines are tight. Its convenient for locals in the neighborhood. But not if you want to win some money.
This was an excellent locate for Jazz Fest. The 50th year was filled with great music, great culinary smells, and plenty to see spread out over this massive venue.
Great place for family's too
My visit to this "Fair Grds. Race Course" was actually for the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. It's a great space for this because it includes 11 stages set up for a variety of music...something for everybody. It's a fun festival but the admission cost keeps growing and may soon be out of my reach. Great music but a little more commercialized that it once was (as many venues are) now seeking corporate sponsors.
My friends from Cheddar, England were visiting and their daughter (a trainer) had a few horses in a couple of races. The place was great, very friendly with a nice atmosphere. Plenty of places to watch racing live or on tv screens. 👍👍 …
Nice racetrack to enjoy an afternoon.
Watched Weiner Dog Races had a blast
Awesome place. Great event team for Jazz fest
This place is fantastic. It's a great place to go for events and if you like gambling they have a casino to. The Fairgrounds has the best events like Jazz fest, Horse racing to wiener dog races.
I went here to see the Jazz Fest. It was a spectacular time!
Went to Jazz fest here, the festival was reasonably organized. The first day was quit hot and humid which really brought out the aroma of horse manure and the second day rained so hard we were knee deep in it which was a bit of an unpleasant experience.
Thanksgiving dinner was hardly ample for the cost...Not to mention they ran out of pumpkin pie almost right away...The service was pretty good but not top notch for a venue charging so much..The venue itself is nice and seating was great..
I visit this casino every now and then.
Only with my wife. She loves it there
This is a pretty decent racetrack, the casino is slightly depressing but overall it was a good time and I enjoyed the ostrich races held here. This is also the side for jazz fest.
We had a ball at the horse and wiener dogs races. My $20 betting limit lasted all day. I won and lost but I left with a more than the $20 I started with so it was a great experience.
Jazzfest is off the chain. If you love music and food, GO!
Great concept RHCP put on an amazing show. Too much walking.
It's a good time. Been here for Exotic Races, and now Weiner Dog Races, (Also Jazz Fest). It's old, and has a great history. Food isn't much.
Had a great time out at the Fairground for the weiner dog races!
So I've been here lots of times for Jazz Fest. Never been for anything else. Overall ok location. A little out of the way for Nola. Gets the job done
There's always something good going on at the Fairgrounds. Jazz Fest, Horse Racing, Slots and more.
Great Food,a lot of new machines.Off track racing from many horse racing track.Great free drinks available. Great way to enjoy the day.Excellent
security. Live horse racing in November
Attended wedding reception at one of their private venues. Small but ample dance floor. Upper floor with escalator. Easily-accessed. Great catering service.
I love this place but I wish there parking didn’t cater to the handicaps so much. I mean can we get a row outta deal. I understand front door entrance but not the rest of the parking lot
Was there twice over the last two weeks for jazz-fest. A good time, although very crowded. Couldn't get anywhere near Aerosmith.
Love the race track. Bad experience at casino. Rude staff member
The horse racing season begins on Thanksgiving day. It's fun and you can bet the horse races. The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage fest is held at the fair grounds during the off season, particularly the last weekend of April, & first weekend of May. The Jazz Fest is a "must do" event in New Orleans. Us natives are very proud of the Jazz Fest! (Better than Mardi Gras!)
I go every year for the music and crawfish bread. This was my daughter's first year and we will make this our annual "must do". Although my daughter's main objective was to watch Maroon 5, it was nice to see her dancing around to the different types of music.
Jazz Fest! Need I say more? Great place!
We were in the Club House for a B'day party of about 30 people and the service was very bad when it came to ordering our food. Everyone else was finished by the time our table was finally served.
Thanksgiving day is great. Unfortunately getting a drink takes an act of Congress. Marie at the paddock bar was totally rude to me and many other people.
We attended the Jazz Fest held at the Fairgrounds/Racetrack. For once it didn't rain...beautiful day, beautiful weather, and most of all the best Music.
I was at the Fairgrounds for the Annual New Orleans Jazz Festival need I say more!! Music, food, dancing, beautiful weather and beautiful people! Let's not forget its jammed packed with Nola culture!
Jazz fest is a must!! Bring a chair and soft cooler
Great access to the paddock then straight out to the track!
Fairgrounds has really kicked it up for Corona!
They regularly clean the slot machines between users and they even installed plexiglas dividers between the machines- something that even the bigget corporate casinos didn’t have the brains to think of!
Fairgrounds is a magical place. Go whenever you can!
#JazzFest50 no more to say. Food, Family, Music and Culture in one place. Ok, let's add History, Now. Thank You for the decades review of the Festival. Can we get an encore presentation so that school kids and the local community can experience?
Jazz Fest was great! Jack White was awesome. Sound was amazing! Food was delicious!! Worth the heat, lol!
Went for Jazz Fest. Great location for it. Lots of vendors and arts and crafts only sale. And if can't find something to eat, you ain't looking!
Went to an annual all day private function in the Black and Gold Room. Good food, good 🍸, great company and lots of fun. Thank you Paul Johnston and Richie and Lisa Arnoult! …
Oldest thoroughbred racetrack in the US, with everything that comes with racetracks. Speed, fanfare, crowds, fast food, sunshine, betting, suprises, and disappointments. Clubhouse dining is alright, and best times to visit if you have kids are 3 to 5 on afternoon racing days. The racetrack still needs to come up with a good system for thoroughbred retirement. These athletes deserve a second chance when they're done racing for their owners.
Fun for all ages, something for everyone
Great setup for Jazz Fest this year. We would have appreciated it more if y'all hadn't turned off the TVs right before the derby.
Fun! Very crowded
Great place to visit and have fun real people friendly with beautiful service
OK, if you live in New Orleans and have not done so you have to come to the Fair Grounds for afternoon horse racing. It is great to watch from outside but even better to spend the few extra bucks to sit in the clubhouse and have a delicious lunch while watching the races.
So much fun. Great weekend. Will be going again.
Watched the horses run !Couldn't enter due to vax card left at home but went to far parking lot its definitely a must.
Nothing wrong with placing a bet on a horse or two. Hubby and I enjoyed our day at the Derby. Will make it a yearly staycation and hopefully win a few next time!!!
The services is wonderful. The drinks arent watered down like at some casinos. Won $400 dollars my first time there. I guess beginners luck
Dirty, very!!! Out of a lot..no toilet paper, horn was broke...just not what it used to be...sad!
food is excellent i always get the grilled shrimp salad the salds are large and very filling, daily lunch specials are also my favorite the fried fish and shrimp sauce combo taste so good
The casino is convenient and non smoking, so that is nice, my only complaint is that the staff are rather rude, other than the waitress, she was very kind.
Jazzfest was fun! Cuban sandwich was delicious. Jack White is Amazing!!
Tip: Mist and Shade would help the heat.
I love this place the best give money on your card in your email and very friendly service machine be hitting they need a 10 ⭐
Me and families always come here for the excitement of the race, foods! The reason why I give it a four star, because of the lack of professionalism from the security guard and staffs.
I've never been for the races, but Jazz Fest is one of the best times you can have with your clothes on.
JAZZ FEST was amazing & the FAIR GROUNDS was well prepared.
Great Old and New gaming venues. Slow drink service, SLOW SLOW SLOW! And RUDE! But it is casual and quaint and in the Neighborhood and they have inexpensive great hot food!
I went to the Jazz Fest, Big Freedia was fantastic!! I just love the food and the arts and crafts booths, I had a Wonderful time!!
Everything was nice and clean All the staff were polite and assisted in any way they could.
If you can make it here for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival you should really do that. You will be impressed.
A blast. Didn't know whether to bet on the horses or people watch. The fashion on Thanksgiving day is the best!
Site of the New Orleans jazz and heritage festival. Had a great time, but got over come by the heat. More shady spots are needed
Nice place to just relax, listen to good music, and drinks its getting back to the where they give free plays
To me it's relaxing to come to the fairgrounds & machines do pay off if have the strength to walk away.
Staff are very friendly&helpful.

Jazz fest is a must see, do, smell, drink, live. If you don't have a great time, it's your own damn fault!
Key Lime pie and Grand Marnier and orange juice. The best bartender in the world is on the 4th floor and her name is Tammy.
The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival has been a great event. The diversity of people and venue and music. This is what America is all about.

Never gambled successfully before but jazz fest is my no. 1 recommendation for the fair grounds
Full Disclosure: This rating is based solely on my 7-day attendance at the NO Jazz & Heritage Festival. I never visit any other time.
Best Casino in New Orleans. This place really needs to expand and stay open longer. I love the atmosphere.
2019 Jazz Fest Do bie Brothers Earth Wind and Fire . Topping it all off with Alanis Morissette
Food is pricey, but worth every penny. Exotic animal races not what i expected but overall my family had a good time.
Really nice venue, super friendly people. Slots were more generous than the ponies.
Attending Week 1 & 2 of JazzFest. Well co-ordinated & laid out for the music fans as well as horse racing fans. Staff Super Nice!!!
Stuffy environment No black jack ,no roulette, no me. Food is nice! Got that enclosed feeling, family likes it though
Love the place. Food is great. Service is good. Love the horse race and slots in between. Win there. Not a lot yet. But win
I always have a good time at the fair grounds. It is just such a unique experience. If only there were mint juleps!
never been there,, but seem like a lot of good races & jockies there. come from simulcast point of view >>>> (CAMERA MAN) REALLY NEED TO UPGRADE EITHER SKILL OR EQUIPMENT BAD >> STOP USING SWITCH ZOOM OR WHATEVER YOU WAS DOING ITS ANNOYING..
