Reviews of Minnesota Orchestra
We had an amazing night! My mother wanted a nice night out for her birthday, so my sister & BIL, my mother herself, and my wife and two sons came out! They were performing pieces from Fantasia while the movie played and it was fun! As the conductor said, "the 80 year old movie is timeless!", and she was right!
The drinks are great, plus you can pre-order during happy hour for intermission at the happy hour rates!
The bathrooms are clean, as is everything else! Parking is easy to get to, was easy to get out as well!
This was a fun night out and we will be happily coming back for another show in the future!
I went for an Indigo Girls concert with the Minnesota Symphony. Orchestra Hall is visually amazing! Such interesting shapes and great ever-changing lighting. It feels so grand! Not 5 star because a common comment during intermission was that people could not actually hear the words of the songs. I think the orchestral music overwhelmed the voices. Still, it was a great night and the crowd was the best.
It was my first time here and I very much appreciated the mask requirement. The staff were exceptionally kind, helpful, and genuine and the sound during the show was great. Very neat to look at also.
Clean, large, bathrooms too!
The sound quality here is superb. The staff were super welcoming and professional. They helped us find our seats and the space was absolutely comfortable.
I really loved seeing the movie Elf with the orchestra playing the music to it. What a unique experience. You don't really appreciate how much music is in a movie until you see the orchestra play it live. It was a great Christmas activity to do and good for all ages. I also love the venue. There is plenty of leg room for my long legs. It's great that it's connected to parking and the skyway so you don't have to walk outside.
Absolutely fantastic as always.
Acoustics even for a high school that were truly quite remarkarble and honestly? Surprising at such incredible talent.
One would think such solos or small band ensembles with such power wouldn't quite exist yet and lemme tell you.
I was so wrong and SO humbled in sheer awe. Way to go Southwest Lakers!
Incredible courage, time, and talent was shown on that stage and it GLOWED as the music 🎶 soared and swirled all around our ears and hearts🤙💯🌟💓💫🙌
First time here even if we have lived in Minneapolis for 3 years. Beautiful venue good acoustics. We saw Ingrid Filter play Mozart piano concerto 23 and two other performances by Minneapolis symphony which was fantastic.
Update 7/23: We saw Beethoven's #6 Pastoral tonight plus his Piano sonata #16. Amazing performance!
Come as you are, for a date night, or just to see a world class orchestra play the musical score to a classic movie shown on the orchestra hall screen!
I saw the Lunar New Year concert. It was amazing. It sounded so good. I recommend this to anyone who loves music especially to any parent wanting to bring their kid to something fun. It's so energetic and lively. Amazing experience in all.
My wife and I enjoyed experience of watching the movie, while the Orchestra played the music.
The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The architecture and interior of this building might not be the most aesthetically pleasing sight to behold; however, the lively schedule and the helpful staff more than make up for that. The orchestra musicians are quite adept, and they often enjoy the company of world-class soloists and conductors. Also, The "Student Rush" tickets are absolutely incredible, and allow graduate students like myself enjoy the performances with only $12 per event.
This is perhaps my most favorite place in all of Minneapolis.
What an awesome place.
I remember coming here as a child and now I have the opportunity to bring my child here.
So that she may experience what this is all about!
A reliable bastion of fine arts that nevertheless finds many ways to reach out to new audiences, from summer park concerts to daytime coffee, to family matinees.
The concert hall is still beautiful, with open atria and stairways overlooking multiple floors.
As usual, a fine performance.
Proud that this is a part of our state!
I gotta say though, that the plywood conductors platform and staging could probably be done better. By all means the music is the priority, but that just kinda don't fit the occasion and ambiance of "orchestra hall".
Thanks for being there and thanks for being great!
Post-renovation it has a more classic concert hall color scheme. There is no better place to listen to a concert with an outstanding orchestra. I’ve spent many happy hours there and forward to more with new music director Thomas Søndergård.
My fiancé and I saw Elf in concert. We’ve never done something like that before but it was so enjoyable! The orchestra adds so much to the movie. I would love to attend another event one day.
It was great to finally be back in this beautiful space after a couple years. It was wonderful to listen to a full orchestra play the score for a movie. Fun and joyful experience!
Very Nice people starting from Valet Parking to leaving. Like going to the movies playing OST Live. A female conductor for a national orchestra which was like a High School Orchestra. Felt relaxed when done.
This is a beautiful and we'll appointed venue. Parking is connected so there is little exposure to the elements, and it's location makes it easy to get to from all over the twin cities area. I would strongly recommend a trip, support the arts friends!
Fantastic concert with the new conductor! The hall has incredible sound and is a wonderful place for live classical music.
Beautiful venue and great orchestra!
Sadly, although the event was booked out, nearly 30% of the seats remained empty. There should be a better system for that.
Great Orchestra and a great venue. I love the wide variety of events they do, it's not all just classical music (which is great on its own), but they have music and programs that gather all types of generations.
We were actually at the hall for the annual Concordia College Christmas concert. The place is unbelievable for a concert, and the show was just awsome.
Beautiful orchestra hall and outstanding acoustics. We attended the Dale Worland celebration. The Singers is a talented group of vocalists.
My graduation ceremony was there. It is a beautiful place. The acoustics are very good. Nice seating.
Went to a lunar new year (Chinese) themed orchestra performance on February 5th, arrived about 3 minutes late to the performance. And the staff were very helpful quickly guiding me into the theater.
The orchestra hall is lovely, the design outside of the auditorium was themed - hanging paper lanterns, candles and other Chinese New year themed items set a prelude ambiance to the actual performance.
The acoustics are above my expectations, even sitting close to the back of the theater- I can hear the faintest tones from a single instrument on-stage.
The actual performance had range in melodies, I'm not easily moved emotionally, but the I could feel the power, energy, and passion from the musicians fed into thier instruments.
Side note- the area around in Nicollet is clean and safe. My date and I walked to the Hilton next door through the heated skyway to grab an expresso and enjoy the atmosphere on that cold minnesota night.
-would recommend going for a classy date.
-dress well, also for pandemic (if still applicable) bring vaccine card or a recent PCR test.
Another GREAT concert by a GREAT orchestra. I saw Fantasia and, even though it was full of talking children, I loved every moment. It was one of those concerts where I usually would be upset at all the applause starting before the final bite finished ringing, but the energy of the orchestra was so strong, I found myself doing it, too! 🤦♂️
Loved every moment!
As a destination event photographer, I have the pleasure of photographing a lot of events all over the country. I recently photographed a wonderful conference in Minneapolis, where the welcome reception was held at the Orchestra Hall. What a clever and picturesque location for a business function. I was VERY impressed!!!
Wonderful performance! Something definitely worth experiencing!
Absolutely enjoyed their performance of Fantasia. My wife is a classically trained musician; and she was extremely impressed to the point it may be the very best Orchestra she has ever experienced. Just wonderful.
Minnesota orchestra is always outstanding! Great experience and phenomenal auditorium!!!
A truly unique experience, worth the cost! The orchestra shows amazing skill each time we go and if you are like us you would really enjoy the movie nights where they cover the music live. Concessions and drinks are not cheap - $10-12 for single shots or wines, or $8 for 12 oz beers. But budget and enjoy yourself!
Very nice venue. Plenty of entry points, plenty of available seats, and the sound reinforcement was good
Love live music and the MN Orchestra is fantastic. I saw them perform the music for a Harry Potter movie and for Fantasia. Both were amazing.
Holst's Mother Goose Suite always a crowd pleaser! Done with grace and beauty. But, I daresay, in the context of Russian aggression in Ukraine, Shostakovich's Rite of Spring should have been scratched, replaced. It was too well performed -- loud, aggressive. I felt discomfited leaving Orchestra Hall. Please be more sensitive to what's going on outside your doors!
Obviously, Orchestra Hall has amazing acoustics. I recently saw Bach’s Christmas Oratorio Show. I left after intermission. The music and singing were amazing but so stuffy and not joyful or playful or fun. I seek out their Pint of Music offerings where quintets play to joyful fun crowds. None of that vibe comes through for the main stage. It’s too bad, since live music is good for your soul. Very happy to have a glass of Boom Island’s witness beer for $8. You can preorder at intermission. The staff is super friendly. The ladies room on the 2nd floor was mysteriously locked-the staff couldn’t explain why so they assumed it was out of order. There was no sign so they were only guessing. The ladies room on the top floor had 2 marrow doors to go through at very sharp corners—there’s no way that ladies room is ADA compliant.
Took my high school daughter and her friends to the new composer performance. They loved it and so did I. Musicians are top notch and so is the conductor. The staff were incredibly helpful. Our seat were first row of rear balcony and still close enough to hear and see everything. I think if we were closer you might feel the music more. We all want to go back.
We were there for the Lunar New Year celibate and concert... it was amazing.
A wonderful venue to attend music performances. We were visitors from out of town, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Loved the show great experience haven't been there since I was in grade school wish parking was a bit better overall great...
I have done to the Minnesota orchestra since as early as I could remember. The Curation of the timeless enjoyment and performance of music cannot be undervalued.
We always come away with more.
We went to a Harry Potter event and it was absolutely amazing. Great for the family and parents too! They do this once a year and its so worth it!
The MN Orchestra is top notch. The space is beautiful and open. I thoroughly enjoy their special themed music nights, like the films nights. Recently we saw Star Wars there, while the orchestra played along. It made me wish I could hear a live orchestra with every movie I see. The orchestra is professional, but knows when to add a little humor into their set. Lightsaber conducting anyone?
I’ve been to two movie nights here and they were both well run with excellent music. I hope to see more
Fantastic Hall! Great acoustics!
Great concert venue. I’ve attended several MN Orchestra concerts here as well as a Tonic Sol Fa vocal performance. Spectacular acoustics. Hoping the younger generations will embrace it and that it will be available for many years to come.
We had a great time at the Minnesota Orchestra. We got there about 30 minutes before the show. We had to show vaccinations status, which went very quickly. We were able to get great seats at rush ticket prices. The Orchestra was fantastic. They played three composers, with two featured violinist. Overall, we have a great evening.
Great musicians in MN Orchestra; acoustics superb; nice building with lots of windows; great downtown location by Peavey Plaza and Nicollet Mall.
Always an amazing venue. Sarah Hicks, Cloud Cult, and most of all, the MN Orchestra, were fantastic.
We went for the Cloud Cult with the Minnesota Orchestra concert. Our seats were on the side, but the view and the sound were spectacular. The venue does a really good job with the pre-show drinks, as well as the intermission. I loved that we could order drinks ahead of time to pick up at intermission.
Gorgeous choral program promoting peace and hope in troubling times. The Kahane world premiere was absolutely incredible, the harmonies and dissonance were indescribable. A superb venue.
Orchestra hall is an absolutely stunning venue. We saw the fantastic Emerging Composers show. The acoustics are perfect & I don't believe there's a bad seat in the house. We sat in seats 21 & 22 of row 2 in balcony A (center section) & we had a perfect view of the stage without being too far away. Drinks were available right outside the balcony entrance & made by a friendly bartender. There is a 15% surcharge added on to card payments therefore I suggest bringing cash to avoid this.
What a joy to attend a concert after the long isolation. Our new director is great
I love going to Orchestra Hall. Every concert is wonderful -- excellent musicians and directors. There is just something to be said for listening to music performed live. It is magical to be a part of that experience.
Great venue. Got view obstructed nosebleed seats for Indigo Girls with the Minnesota orchestra. Acoustics are excellent. Clean, clear sound that was overpowered by the roar of the crowd periodically.
If you are a women’s restroom user, go at off times. There was mutinous talk of storming the men’s room at intermission due to the line outside the women’s.
A beautiful facility. Wonderful place for a concert. Possible venue for weddings also. There were counters to purchase drinks, snacks and souvenir items. Can purchase a drink and pick up at intermission. In a side room there was a temporary planetarium set up before the concert. Loved my experience there! Great staff too.
Beautiful venue, perfect sound. Orchestra backing Cloud Cult made for a wonderful concert.
Wonderful orchestra concerts. Updated beautiful gathering spaces and terraces. Updated bar. If ever they perform another Dueling Pianos concert...don't miss it!
This is the best sounding concert hall in the city. I love the building and its not hard to find a spot to park nearby.
Great musical venue!
Our family really enjoyed the Minnesota Orchestra's Christmas concert. They always sound amazing and provide great entertainment. I would highly recommend going if you have the opportunity. Thanks!
I absolutely love the Minnesota Orchestra. Their programming is really great. My favorite is called inside the classics where they do an educational component along with the music. I think it brings a depth and richness to the experience and I enjoy learning more. Plus they usually offer some pretty great discounts and really friendly staff. also because it's situated in downtown there are plenty of places to go for a drink beforehand such as Brits right across the street. However in the summer during Sommerfest they turn the plaza in front of the orchestra into an area for food vendors and drinks. My only complaint is that the wine selection is pretty awful at the orchestra. If you prefer dry wines this is not the place to catch a drink during happy hour before the show. They would do well to have more sparkling and more dry wine options.
Orchestra Hall is a beautiful concert hall in Minneapolis. Home of the Minnesota Orchestra. The musicians are fantastic: dedicated to their craft. They perform a variety of shows to make music accessible to all.
An absolutely astounding establishment. Rich sounds filter through the air and find your ears no matter where you sit. If you choose to sit in the first row be ware your neck will take a bit of a beating but the experience is unparalleled. You note only hear but feel every note and become part of the action.
This venue is spectacular!! Not only is it a beautiful stage but the sound is amazing. They host a lot of interesting things here. I think more people should definitely check it out!!
We performed there (Phoenix Chinese Dance Academy) as part of the International Music Festival. It was great! Wonderful acoustics and lighting. A real treat!
Great venue. Lots of refreshments during intermission and plenty of seats. Many bathrooms. I went to see Cameron Carpenter here yesterday and the performance was phenomenal!
We saw The Return of the Jedi, and the Orchestra absolutely killed it. It was hard to pay attention to the movie because the Orchestra was so amazing to watch. We've wanted to attend a movie score night and cannot wait for the next season to attend again!
Outstanding!. Not a bad seat on the building. Great Sound, Great Orchestra.
Great music. Beautiful building. Quick advice, you can't take drinks inside, so if you got coffee or wine or whatever, you'll have to finish it before intermission is over.
Robbinsdale school district all district choir is amazing and my daughter is in it!! Orchestra Hall is an amazing place, They all performed Monday evening and did a fabulous job!! My pictures from inside.. show how cool it is!
My first visit to Orchestra Hall did not disappoint. Aside from the fact that it was my daughters recital with a performance the top five Middle School orchestras in state, that Hall is gorgeous and sounds like you would expect from a world-renowned Orchestra.
What a great venue. Perfect acoustics. The first balcony seating had a great view. I especially liked the very reasonably priced valet parking because I don’t walk very well. This wasn't my first time and won't be my last.
Phenomenal show, I love attending their concerts. Very talented members, I'm always blown away!
The wife and I went to Return of the Jedi and it brought back great memories of me seeing it in the theater with my parents back waaaaay back in the day. The venue is easy to get in and out of and the staff are friendly and helpful. The performance itself was absolutely amazing!
Beautiful venue and amazing sound. Loved it!!
I just am so impressed with the way it is all run, and everyone involved, I just had to comment. I drive my elderly folks to Orchestra Hall, the valet gladly holds my car while I get them checked in. Every one is so patient, they let me get my parents to their seats and get them situated, it just makes the whole situation doable for such elderly people. This is always the high point of their week/month seeing the Minnesota Orchestra, one would think it would be seeing me and/or their grandkids, but we will take it :)
Wonderful experience at the Minnesota Orchestra. The Indigo Girls were playing with the orchestra. Staff was very friendly.
I took public transportation to the symphony. Blue line light rail from Mall of America to Nicollette Station....then took a bus from 5th st corner directly to 11 th st and the symphony.
Cost to ride was 4 dollars for 6 hrs of unlimited rides. Very convenient...and best of all didn't have to find a parking spot.
George Winston...a legend!
Great space, great staff...must come back!
My daughter had a choir concert there. The place was wonderful 😁 …
I brought my daughter to see the orchestra for the first time. Hope to go back soon.
One of Minnesota's outstanding musical organizations, the Minnesota Orchestra offers unbelievably good value for all... ticket prices are great, especially for such incredible talent! And the design of the facility makes it possible to be enveloped in the arts from the moment you enter the building. Amazing!
very nice place. everyone was very nice and it was overall a great time
It was pretty cool. I love the decorations. Everybody was wearing masks, the orchestra was great, they had awesome lighting and a really cool building. All of their staff were nice.
Have loved every show I have seen here, acoustics and stage are amazing. There are quite a few spots with undesirable views and the some of the veteran staff can come across as quite rude at times, but all in all amazing venue.
Always a fun place to take in amazing music!
I photographed a beautiful Christmas event there. The service from staff was meticulous and the evening was SO smooth and fun. Not to mention the orchestra sounded heavenly!
Got some free tickets from a friend to see Star Wars:RotJ. Got to sit with a theater full of Rich people who didn't understand Star Wars at all. Orchestra was great throughout and really drove the emotion. Hated walking back to my car and seeing homeless people sleeping in stairwells after I bought a $12 drink and $6 cookie and seats were $65 a pop for floor.
Some real hunger games vibes.
I could seriously have a 4 hour conversation of why, when Obi-Wan says "from a certain point of view" wasn't a joke for all these idiots to laugh at.
There was literally people clapping when Yoda Died.
If it was a normal concert, it might have been better.
Incredible experience watching a movie with all music played live by the orchestra - perfect way to introduce my girls to the orchestra ❤️ my girls are 6 and 7 and LOVED it!
I had an amazing time attending a show! For starters, Nicholas Landrum gave a pre concert talk explaining the pieces, which made the experience that much better. The atmosphere was stunning and as a college student I was blown away. I would recommend this to anyone interested!
Very talented group of people most of my friends got in free since they were 18 and under my ticket was 70 bucks but it was worth it.
Beautiful atmosphere and everyone was very welcoming and nice.
Wonderful music and musicians, 2/3 of audience was voluntarily masked, staff very friendly and helpful. I so missed this during the Covid lock down and am thrilled to be able to be there again.
The venue is beautiful and the performances are always fantastic! Definitely worth the time and money.
Went to orchestra hall to hear cloud cult backed by the Minnesota orchestra. We really had no idea what to expect and were pleasantly suprised! The band wasn't our favorite, having the orchestra behind them made the entire experience amazing though! Our one complaint (and it was a very first world problem) was that we hardly had any time to finish our drinks during intermission before we were rushing back in!
What's not to like about the Minnesota Orchestra and the hall? Easy parking at the Marquette lot, dinner at Monello and great music to follow makes a very pleasant evening.
great acoustics in here, come check out it!
Beautiful concert hall. I've been multiple times and sat in various areas. Haven't ever had a seat with a bad view, or bad sound.
The Minnesota Orchestra is fantastic. The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. The musicians are all so talented and the hall itself provides a wonderful atmosphere to experience both classical music as well as more modern music with their music and film nights.
Lovely place to enjoy our MN Orchestra as well as many different type of events!
Absolutely. Fantastic. Truly one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.
An amazing orchestra at an incredible concert hall. What a wonderful experience to attend!!
Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back was amazing. It will never be as fun to just watch the movie anymore. Loved the costumes performers from the 501st Legion too!
Take the stereotype of what an orchestra is out of your mind right now. The Minneapolis one has events for anyone and everyone. If you truly have an appreciation for classical music, yes, this is one of the best orchestras in the world. Then again, if you are a Star Wars nerd OR like good movies and want to watch a movie accompanied with LIVE music, yeah they've got that too. We love being residents here in Minneapolis as many of the orchestra members now play at various breweries. Check out their pint of music schedule.
World class facility. We’ll maintained. Great acoustics.
A Minnesota treasure... go as often and as much as possible!
Excellent musicians and sound was amazing.
Easy parking in the ramp across the street, skywalk entrance to Orchestra Hall. Great acoustics & seating. Masks & proof of vaccine, social distancing to attend the GTCY'S program this morning. Very entertaining & enjoyable concert.
Music was amazing (Lunar Year Celebration Concert)! Covid-19 protocol very well enforced. Not one person without a mask. Great evening out.
Best sound ever for any event
What an amazing night. Watching Star Wars to live music was absolutely amazing!!
My whole family had a wonderful experience.
Watched the Gabel and Hadelich performance last night. Hadelich is amazing. The acoustics were wonderful as always. Good enough to hear one of the brass players drop his dampener in the middle of the first piece.
Merry and Bright with Charles Lazarus was awesome.
Great atmosphere! Wonderful evening!
So fortunate to enjoy the world class Minnesota Orchestra
Went to Jurassic Park and enjoyed every minute of it! Great music, fun crowd, beautiful facility.
As a fellow orchestra player, it was great seeing one of the Minnesota Orchestra's concerts! I play the cello, and was watching the cellos a lot of the time during the performance. There was a really great pianist that was a guest performer with an unexpected encore, and a lot of the songs played had unique contrast in volume at different times! I've said a lot about how amazing the performance was, but I haven't said anything about just how beautiful Orchestra Hall is! The hall itself is fabulous and the different patterns on the ceiling gave really great acoustics, while also looking really cool. The lobby also is very modern and has a nice feel. Definitely coming back to see more performances!
Great concert. The acoustics always amaze me. The stage backdrop is inspired and the light play is great
Wonderful Orchestra and chorus. Performance of "Seven Last Words of the Unarmed " and "Glory " were very moving and impactful.
Just simply amazing. They're so talented.
Beautiful! The building alone is a piece of art. The auditorium is gorgeous, too, and has excellent acoustics. We enjoyed the bar and mingling prior to the concert. This was one of the most enjoyable experiences we've had in a long time. Can't wait to go back!
One of the top rated orchestras in the US, and Orchestra Hall is an excellent venue with superb accoustics. A genuine treasure!
They always do a wonderful job!
Beautiful building and a fabulous concert, thank you!
Absolutely fantastic experience. We saw the motion picture "Up" with the orchestra playing the score. Our grandson sat captivated and never moved!! Thank you for the best experience we've had in a long time.
Great performances from the GTCYS groups!! Orchestra hall is beautiful!!
If you love classical music, this concert was fantastic. Because of Covid you had drink outside. Lots of heaters, still cold.
Beautiful venue! We enjoyed the performance very much and will hopefully be back again!
Wonderful place, wonderful music, miserable traffic when there's a game on. One should always check to see what else is going on around town in order to estimate travel time so as to not be hurried.
Watched the University of St Thomas Dept. of Music Christmas Concert "Comfort and Joy". Nicely varied but topical selections. A couple of the orchestral arrangements were ambitious, but we're performed well. Arrangements for audience participation were a little challenging, requiring deep lungs, but the choirs supported us well.
Excellent job, St. Thomas!!!
Fantastic with listening to GTCYS of which my granddaughter is a part of
My date and I went to see Return of the Jedi, it was absolutely amazing, we had so much fun, we can not wait to see another show.
Love the Minnesota Orchestra, and Orchestra Hall. True gems for our beautiful state. Highly recommend to all visitors interested in the arts. The hall is a unique performance venue, visually striking and acoustically crisp. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Facilities are always clean and fresh. Love it!
St. Olaf Christmas program was phenomenal!
Cloud Cult with the Minnesota Orchestra was an awe inspiring experience! Orchestra Hall is a wonderful facility and the MNO is world class!
Beautiful music, gorgeous building, iconic CUBES!
Very enjoyable event,we will definitely be looking forward for more.
I loved the beautiful architecture of this building. It is super awesome and the experience is second to none. The Concert we went to was the sampler. It was super awesome to see some off all the things the Minnesota orchestra will play this season. We especially love the star wars piece. We will definitely go back and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going.
The concert was amazing! As always, a top show from top talent. We got there early and I am glad we did. If you've never been to Orchestra Hall, and you're sittting in a balcony, have an usher take you to your seats because it can be a little confusing.
Just excellent. The shows are mesmerizing. If you're not fully committed to listening to an orchestra alone, start out with one of the film events. Imagine watching Harry Potter or Indiana Jones, but accompanied by a live orchestra. It's pretty remarkable.
Awesome music venue. Free concert was fun!
Went to see Star Wars here and it was incredible. Such a great experience.
Orchestra Hall is an amazing place to spend time with friends and family. If you go for a show in the morning sometimes they even have free coffee and donuts. During the holiday season is also pretty cool because they have a cool tree. They orchestra itself is super amazing, and no matter what show you go to it will not disappoint!
Chanticleer and Cantus!! Two Great mens' choral music ensembles!!
Loved it!! We brought masks, our IDs.
Very easy-- everyone was masked!!
Yay!!
It was so good to see live classical music once more! So happy to attend. The space is beautiful and the music and sound is exceptional.
Amazing venue. Great acoustics and accommodating staff!
10/10. Such a talented group, what an amazing, inspiring, beautiful sound.
Exceptional team from volunteer to marketing to conductors to musicians and directors. This group and venue are truly trendsetting, changing with the culture and maintaining exceptional quality in performance and music. Thank you for enticing children and sharing with families. Most of all I feel this orchestra is critically **accessible**, which is not common in this genre, but will be vital to its survival. Thank you for doing this with Elegance!
It was wonderful look forward to going again.
I watched King Herod/Solome's Dance. It was exciting and made me wonder more about what kind of dance it might have really been. It told the bible story and the music was great. The sound system worked well. I'd like to see this performance again. It was expensive though. I believe the tickets were around $100. I would not have gone if I had to buy my own ticket. This was a huge place to navigate. The ticket included some free drinks.
My husband and I come here six or so times a year. The orchestra is beautiful and they often do fun movie nights to bring in more patrons that wouldn't normally attend. The staff is friendly, the bar service is great (get a T-Rex cookie you won't regret it) and the valet service is courteous. We love the atmosphere that's been created by the Minnesota Orchestra!
World class orchestra that's not afraid to do accessible music. Sarah Hicks is my favorite conductor.
LESLIE ODOM JR WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! His voice is silky smooth and ultra sexy! I went to see him last night with my husband and a couple good friends and we all thought he did a wonderful job! I liked the way he interacted and engaged with the audience and his band was on fire too. It was my first time at the MNO and the acoustics were TOP NOTCH ❤️ I will definitely be back...my only problem is I wanted to dance, but it’s not that type of venue! I can’t wait to see him live in concert or play again. Terrific Job Leslie!!!!
I came to orchestra hall to premire a song a few weeks ago with all of the girls sophomore choirs in my district. It was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed being able to preform on such a popular stage. All of the staff were super kind and beyond helpful. 10/10 would love to go again.
Always look forward to going . It's a amazing experience.
We came to the show, Home for the Holidays & it was absolutely FANTASTIC!! It had all the MAGIC of Christmas!! It was beautiful, funny & full of talented artists. I would definitely go a 2nd time. Merry Christmas & thank you MN Orchestra!!!
What a beautiful space! All of the ushers were incredibly friendly and helpful in directing us up the maze of stairs. The acoustics within the hall are unparalleled with crystal clear sound, even without amplification. My only negative was a bartender who was just a little too pushy about also ordering intermission drinks, but that's his job I suppose.
Every time I go to Orchestra Hall I'm reminded what people can accomplish by working together . To see individuals who have honed their skill to a level that most people can't realize, and take those individual skills and work together to create something that is greater than the sum of their parts is truly something amazing. It is an important lesson of what we can accomplish by working together and you will not find a better symbol of what a society can be.
Not only is the orchestra impressive but the building is as well. When you walk in to the hall you first notice how large the room is, but it does not feel like a large empty space. The whole place is filled with the warm light reflecting off the wood paneled walls and the impressive geometric shapes on the ceiling and front wall that are a marriage of functionality and art. Just to be in the hall is an impressive thing to see.
I would be remiss to not mention the staff at orchestra hall. From the doorman to the ticket collectors to the people who keep the place clean you will find polite friendly people who seem to enjoy what they do and provide top notch service. Just like the orchestra, without them you can't have the Orchestra Hall.
Every aspect of the experience is impressive and leaves me humbled. We are lucky to have this in our great city and we need to support it so it doesn't go away.
This was my first experience at Orchestra Hall, we saw Cloud Cult with the Minnesota Orchestra. It was amazing, and sounded fantastic. I talked with some of the musicians after the show, and they told me the best sound is up top and in the back, exactly where we were sitting. I can't wait to go back!
The Minnesota Orchestra is a group of extremely talented musicians. The Star Wars movie experience was amazing- I had to keep reminding myself the music was live. Sarah Hicks is very energetic and fun to watch. We would definitely go back for a movie/orchestra experience.
Best combination of venue and orchestra
.
Amazing space and an even better show.
The atmosphere, the people, and all of the entire concerts I went too always shine through. It really knows how to get rid of all the negative stress throughout the day.
Absolutely stunningly beautiful venue! Minnesota Orchestra is awesome, one of the best in the country. If I had one criticism, it would be that I have been in other venues with perhaps better acoustics.
I have been coming to the orchestra for well over five years now. And, wow have they made some well done improvements. More movie nights, greater social experiences before the shows, more social media interactivity during shows, physical improvements to the theater itself with lights and visuals, more diversity in shows. I've gone to a bollywood live show, the circus, several movies, interpretive dance and narratives, and so much more here at the orchestra. It's classy, and with their newer package deals, it's not that expensive. They've opened up the idea that the orchestra isn't just for the older generation, but for the younger crowd too. Treat yourself with a night at the orchestra and you won't regret it.
This has been a place of so many good memories and amazing concerts. The remodel several years ago has really made the venue sleek and up-to-date, with much better traffic flow and access to amenities. It allows for cool concert add-ons, like an art gallery with a painter working live on the first balcony! The staff are always very kind and helpful when I bring my grandma, who appreciates all the accommodations provided. And I haven't even mentioned the music, which is top-notch, whether the featured artist is Boyz II Men or a musician from within the orchestra. Make this your next date night...
Beautiful facility. Easy access parking. Love seeing concerts at this facility. Makes me proud to be a Minnesotan each time I visit this gem.
Shivers to experience this world class orchestra!
If you are going to Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, MN and happen to be with someone that is in a wheelchair it is best to be parked early. We did find a non handicap spot to park where we were able to use the ramp on the van as we normally would. Leaving an event can take some time with only one elevator(that I am aware). Inside the hall there are well placed handicap seats and spaces from which you can enjoy any type of performance.
Wow! An experience not to be missed. The sound is phenomenal and the amazing talent level is out of this world. Recently saw " Home for the Holidays". What a warm heartfelt performance full of nostalgia, comedy and sing-a-long. Helps you remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Orchestra Hall is a huge auditorium where talented musicians play and create their own atmosphere with building.
It is truly an experience you won't forget! Regardless if you are performing there are just watching.
Saw the Indigo Girls concert. They played with the Man Orchestra. Amazing and a beautiful venue.
The orchestra has been doing a series of film scores, where the movie is shown behind the musicians and they play all the music. It's a great experience and puts a fresh spin on old classics. The Disney movies have been a great way to introduce our kids to live orchestra!
We love the children's concert series! Shows are an hour only and a little more wiggling is tolerated. They also do a good job trying to incorporate visuals to help communicate the music, and to keep the little people engaged. The only reasons I would give this venue less than 5 stars is that it does cater primarily to adults and that some of the children's performances are recycled from year to year so become duplicate.
Wonderful evening events, such lovely music, memorable story telling too.
Their movie with music is most excellent. Even if you don't partake of the orchestra otherwise DO THESE!!
A Beautifully Modern Concert Hall to Experience Classical Music!
Acoustic Perfection!
Cloud cult with the Minnesota Orchestra was the best show I’ve seen in years.
The music is exceptionally good, the building venue is superb and the staff and vendors and service are wonderful. The main floor seating is fabulous for comfort and leg room. You are a Minnesota treasure and your travels in the state and abroad are inspiring.
I came all the way up here from Oklahoma so I could come listen to Mahler's Second Symphony, and I was no where near being disappointed. They were absolutely phenomenal. The pianist was amazing and his encore was beautiful. This performance made me want to move here just so I can come to every concert.
I rarely miss a concert, and have NEVER been disappointed. It's NOT what many people would expect! It's alive and lively with an audience that appreciates it enough to cheer like at a sporting event!! BRAVO!! to BOTH! The Orchestra and The Audience!!
Absolutely one of our favorite ways to spend an evening. We love the special events they put on, and have seen movies where the orchestra plays the score, done a "sampler night" and just saw Ben Folds perform with the musicians. They do drink pre-orders, so before the show and during intermission, there's no need to stand in a long line, you just walk up and pick up your drink. The ushers are all very friendly, as well. Not a bad seat in the house!
This a a review for the Target Atrium @ Minnesota Orchestra. I've enjoyed several performances at orchestra hall. This is a beautiful venue with great acoustics. Until recently, I had never seen a small performance in the target atrium, however. Not knowing what to expect, I found that they had the small bar on the main floor open for a pre-performance cocktail. Seating was general admission and seats are very limited in the atrium, so I recommend arriving early if you care to choose your seat. I saw Atom Jazz String Quartet from Poland and the sound was exceptional (3 violins & 1 cello). There's a small fireplace and the nighttime urban backdrop visible through the floor-to-ceiling glass walls added well to the ambience and intimacy of the experience.
We go to the orchestra at least a couple times a year and always have a great time. Lately we have been taking our children to the educational events they host and now the kids love classical music too.
This is always a wonderful place to go. The venue ous clean and beautiful, and the orchestra always sounds amazing. They have bartenders outside the hall, as well as snacks and other options. I'm convinced there isn't a bad seat in the whole place! Coming here is always a treat.
Saw Ben Folds here with the Minnesota Orchestra last Friday. Truly a wonderful experience and venue. You feel the overwhelmingly aestheic vibe right when you walk into the auditorium, with the features on the stage just popping out at you from all angles. The design of the room lends itself very well to hearing each individual section on stage--nothing really gets muddled. And the orchestra itself lived up to its world-class reputation. All in all, a phenomenal concertgoing experience, thank you for a wonderful night!
Excellent performance. Bummer that the bar was set up outside, but the show was great. Merrier & Brightee
I always have a great time at Orchestra Hall! The staff gets you checked in and to your seat in a very quick manner. Phenomenal music! Many restaurants nearby to get dinner beforehand. Parking is a little tricky, but that's the reality of downtown Minneapolis.
We saw a performance for $20 each with the 20under40 program. This was our first Minnesota orchestra experience and I would definitely go again.
The seats we got were a bit obstructed, but I could see everything but the furthest left of the stage.
Saw a Christmas program, Home for the Holidays, at Orchestra Hall. Sarah Hicks is a wonderful conductor that conducts with a vibrant energy and it shows in how the Orchestra responds to her direction. They play beautifully. Throughly enjoyed the concert.
We got tickets from a silent auction. They didn't save us seats, though, so we had to call every day hoping someone else would cancel two seats together so we could go. Thankfully we found out around 2 pm that we could get in for the 7:30 pm show! Both of us are flexible enough that we made it work despite having given up hope at that point.
It was a very entertaining show, much more than the pure orchestra we were expecting. It was a fun night! I would like them to change their voucher system, though, so they hold a pair of seats anytime they give away tickets for a silent auction.
Not a bad seat in the house! Every show is amazing! You'll enjoy whatever you go see here!
Covid Update:
Face masks currently required the entire time inside of Orchestra Hall. Also require proof of vaccines or negative covid test. (As of 1/7/22)
First visit back for us since covid began. These measures make me quite comfortable visiting for a performance. People were respectful, didn't linger in the lobby, kept masks on. This was one of the most comfortable experiences out since covid began. I still took every extra precaution I could on my part, and wouldn't go if they lifted these measures, but as of now, they seem effective.
**I do recommend using the Bindle app they use/allow for entry as it makes for a faster and easier entry**
Parking:
Also always recommend parking in the 11th and Marquette parking ramp right next door!
The concert hall is well built and it is hard to find a bad spot to sit, at least from an acoustic perspective.
Always a joy to go to orchestra hall for a concert. Great sound wherever you sit
This music hall is beautiful and the acoustics are stunning!
The Tony award winning Minnesota Orchestra never disappoints. They offer a lovely array of musical experiences: from kid-friendly movies where they accompany with the score to exquisite classical with the world's top soloists to rock and jazz collaborations. Whatever your taste, they have a concert to suit.
Beautiful and great sounding hall, musicians were amazing and the Sibelius pieces were all fantastic.
The staff was polite and helpful. The orchestra was amazing. We went during the day with a class field trip, they did great directing buses and instructing students where to go. I wish they had a playbill for performance.
Minnesota Orchestra plays live to the movie
"Return of the Jedi". Amazing experience.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
A wonderful performance and a great place to have such a lovely event! This is definitely worth it for students when they have $12 tickets for some performances. Overall it was great experience and I can't wait to go again.
Beautiful, excellent performances, surprise guests with amazing appeal and value. Unique and fun event offerings.
The Minnesota Orchestra has something for everyone. For kids, they do family friendly performances and Disney movies where they provide the music. This is a great way for children to learn how to appreciate live orchestra music. For adults they do a variety of performances everything from the Beatles to Bach. It is worth the investment. If you are under 40 look for specially priced tickets! They will do performances before and after the performance sometimes too! It is a great event to get out to enjoy!
We also choose to park in the ramp that is attached via the skyway on the second level. It is $10 and is totally worth it for the convenience.
Saw the Star Trek movie with live score, and it was breathtaking. Subtitles on the movie helped many folks understand it, and the music was louder which helped you focus on the score. I loved the movie already but the way the orchestra performed the music was stunning.
I LOVE the musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra! I love when there are concerts centered around them, and maybe a special guest or two but mostly I come just to listen to our superb and world-class Orchestra right here at home! Wish they would dress up the plain, cold white pillars with something to make them architecturally intriguing or more colorful like long rectangular banners showing professional photographs of the musicians playing or of Osmo conducting or maybe of some local twin cities scene. It seems like a missed opportunity from an architectural standpoint. But I do like the rest of the lobby area and box office desk too. I hope the Orchestra does more and more over time to offset its carbon footprint too! (From it’s energy bill, to travel impacts, food and beverage brought in for events and reducing waste inside the building, etc.) Please support this institution by buying ticket packages and gifting tickets to friends or family who haven’t been before! Introduce more people to this priceless treasure we have in our state!
Haven't been to Orchestra Hall since I was in high school really couldn't appreciate the sound. My family the Steeles we're singing along with Orchestra Hall and Tommy Lazarus. Words can't explain how amazing it was you had to be there to experience it all. Hopefully in the future we will see that more.
Amazing experience today with high school students at 2020 Young People's Concert. Staff and talent were superb. Our students were blessed with Osmo Vänskä conducted and was fun to watch him lead.
Love going to the movies and MN Orchestra plays the score. It is an experience.
Most fantastic place I've ever played at which is one a of must sees when visiting Minnesota. Every seat that you pick is amazing, the sound quality spectacular, and the view is more than you could ask for. Hope that yout experience will be as amazing as mine was for you. Thank you!💜 …
This was such an enjoyable experience! The music was resounding and moving. The performers were fantastic. The staff was helpful and polite. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
Great seats! Great music!
Beautiful auditorium. Performance was amazing!
A wonderful professional orchestra in a beautiful venue
MN State Baptist Convention Youth Choir's CD Recording was at this beautiful establishment! Thank you Orchestra Hall for hosting us, all the hospitality and wonderful service! The CD will be phenomenal!!!
I went to a morning show with my 1st grade students. They enjoyed the first portion of the "festival of animals" which consisted of 4-5 orchestra movements featuring dancers for some. The second half was too much back and forth of speaking and playing. My students got chatty and lost interest.
Very comfy seats in a visually and aurally appealing space. A real gem in the Minneapolis crown.
What an incredible experience, this place is absolutely beautiful, and musicians are phenomenal, arguably some are the best in the entire United States. Highly recommended for anybody who enjoys live music, and really, anybody who enjoys music in general.
The Family/sensory friendly concert was perfect for a couple of grownups and a 21-month old. We came early and got to touch instruments in the lobby. They were even selling goldfish crackers at the concession stand.
my wife and I loved the orchestra, but we weren't that enamored of the christmas program; too pop oriented
The best $29.95 plus handling that I have ever spent on entertainment at the spur of the moment (Copeland's Lincoln Portrait, Bruch Violin, Dvorak "New World" #9)
The orchestra, led by maestro Vänskä, is outstanding, thrilling. The hall, gorgeous.
Since the acoustics are excellent throughout the hall, you needn't pay top price just to be on the 50-yard line unless you really want to see the performers up-close.
Orchestra Hall has been recently improved - lobby redesign and a spectacular "Target Atrium". The work sensibly retained the interior, with its sound-functional design; those iconic acoustic giant white cubes.
These people know what they're doing and what they are doing is the highest-caliber music in the country. World-class.
Beautiful orchestra!! Amazing performance!! I really enjoyed it
Saw Cloud Cult perform. Great sound, great ambiance, great experience. If you have a chance to see this orchestra in this hall play with a band or a performance you enjoy, DO IT!
I can say I throughly enjoy going to events here. It's a beautiful place. Staff, members, volunteers and musicians are great. If you haven't gone, give it a try. It's easy to get in and out of if you use their parking suggestion.
The coffee concerts are a bright spot in my week. The orchestra is outstanding -- the venue lovely. The volunteers are pleasant and helpful. Mahler's 10th had me in
emotional tears this week.
Osmo and the orchestra are the BEST.
Convenient connected parking, excellent acoustics and wide variety of musical choices at this downtown venue. I prefer side boxes as a little less cramped. Brits before or after an event is always a good choice.
Incredibly gifted orchestra! I especially appreciate the diversity of high-caliber guest performers, like those that were a part of Musica Juntos, a celebration of Latin music. La Pasión según San Marcos featuring Cuban and Brazilian rhythms and percussion was fantastic!
Beautiful orchestra and the musicians are wonderfully talented. The building is designed well and is a joy to spend time in. Will be coming back for more shows.
We saw Star Wars here and this is definently something you should do if you have the opportunity. They keep it fun for fans of the movie and the music. The visuals and sounds are just something you have to experience in your lifetime..
Wonderful space, great atmosphere
Stunning building, beautiful music, and welcoming/professional environment. I visited Orchestra hall for the star wars movie and full orchestra show. It was stunning, 10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves star wars.
Went to see the Dessa concert tonight. Had a good time. The only problem was about 50% of her songs was almost drowned out by the orchestra. I don't understand how her sing was so much louder than the orchestra for some but not all
We have been going here for years and have seen a classical performance, but they have a lot more than that. We have seen Home Alone (as the orchestra performs the entire score), as well as A Nightmare before Christmas. We even went to Cirque de la Symphonie, which has them playing classical scores to circus acts (all of which were very, very good) performing on stage). Kids are usually free too!
Orchestra hall is amazing, I have yet to sit in a bad seat and the acoustics are too notch. Cocktails are $12 though which is expected but still a bit greedy.
Renowned symphony, beautiful building, fantastic acoustics. Your child or student gets tickets at a discount. I took my high schooler for $12. Arrive 45 minutes or so early for a free lecture about the pieces played on that day’s program.
I went to the Inside the Classics: The Puppet Master - Stravinsky's Petrushka program conducted by Sarah Hicks and hosted by Sam Bergman. They were fantastic and so was the whole orchestra!
Every concert I've attended here has sounded amazing. Acoustics are great and so are the sight lines (even for this short person).
I attended the Minnesota Youth Symphony - wonderful performance by all the kids!
Parked across the street in the ramp and walked over in the skyway. Pretty convenient, but elevators were mobbed on the way out, and it took forever to exit the ramp.
Lots of restrooms, and nice food and drink options during intermission.
Little known trick - there are lockers to store your coat and personal items for free! They're in the hallways on the sides of the hall.
If you have not attended a concert out on by the MN orchestra, you are seriously missing out! They play everything, and I really mean -everything-, extremely well. Whether you're looking for classics or something a little more contemporary, the MN orchestra has you covered!
Top notch orchestra, venue, and programming.
This is a wonderful establishment. We attended a Cloud Cult concert, backed by the Minnesota Orchestra. It was a beautiful show! The Staff was very friendly. I look forward to coming back!
Beautiful concert hall (gorgeous!), great acoustics, helpful staff. The only downside are the ticket prices. Recommended for every person who's interested in Minnesota's music, both local and visiting.
Absolutely a breathtaking experience! One of the best concerts I have ever been too. I have already made my next reservations!
Absolutely stunning, and a wonderful, wonderful show.
Amazing concert hall.
Sensory friendly performance of Carnival of the Animals.
The MN Orchestra did an amazing job of creating a world-class performance accessible to all ages and abilities.
Wish I could go see the Minnesota Orchestra more often.
Opportunity not to missed if there is a performance schedule.
Fab venue with every seat having good sightlines as well as wonderful acoustics. First class Orchestra always performs well.
The December 19 Christmas concert was powerful, moving and fun! Didn't want it to end.
I had a wonderful time watching Harry Potter movie with Orchestra accompanying. Front row, the screen is partially blocked by heads but the leg room is nice.
One of the best orchestras in the world. The range of music they perform is extensive. Saint-saens violin concerto with Benjamin Beilman one week, Dessa (hip hop artist) the next. Jennifer higdon and Stephen Paulus to Beethoven and Sibelius they crush it. They offer a lot of fun concerts to offset the classics and help bring in new and different crowds as well but if you want to hear them pull your heart strings performing the Copland clarinet concerto with Burt Hara you can have that too. Sarah Hicks and Osmo Vanska conduct with brilliance. They never dissapoint
Truly world-class performances night after night.
Guest soloists and conductors of international renown.
Living, breathing art conjured for an appreciative audience.
A first-rate experience throughout.
I attended Concordia annual christmas concert. First time going.....WOW! they can sign. It was incredible. People were dressed nice in chrstmas attire. The theater is amazing, the sounds were amazing. We were able to park and walk the skyways so we didnt have to battle the cold. All in all it was an excellent expirience. If you go try for a balcony seat on the second floor about 3 back from the stage on either side. I wiahed i would have done that, that looked like the best seats.
I love the MN Orchestra, but I don't like the Minneapolis Orchestra Hall. All of the Minnesota Orchestra musicians, and Osmo Vänskä, the conductor, are fantastic. Many, most?, people love both the orchestra and Orchestra Hall.
Orchestra Hall has excellent seating with good and well balancced sound throughout. The extreme right and left sides have poor sightlines, but the sound delivery is still very good.
Parking is readily available in the parking garage, or on the street within a few blocks. Orchestra Hall is easy to get to via the MTC light rail and bus system, as well as your ride-sharing service of preference or taxi.
The only thing I don't like about Orchestra Hall is that it's tuned too high without enough emphasis on bass-- to my ears the sound is too bright, not shrill-- just not enough bass for the way I prefer to listen to orchestral performances.
Wow.... it was so exhilarating to hear live beautiful music again. They didn't disappoint!
Well organized to get everyone verified and safely in for the concert. Well played! It was wonderful!
Beautiful venue for the Vocal Essence "Witness" concert!
Classical music at it's best in Minnesota. Wide variety of music, special guests, and fun events. We saw "The Little Mermaid" where they played the music and it was amazing. We always try to go when we can.
The MN Orchestra is always a good time, whether you're seeing movies another musical act (we saw Dessa twice) or just the orchestra, it's all enjoyable.
The music and atmosphere is fantastic. We have seen multiple movies on the big screen with the live orchesta playing the music. 4 shows and counting in the last year.
Even If I doze, I love the orchestra's strange twist of modern times with what's brewing in my mind. You will not be disappointed if you want to be transported to another place and time.
The acoustics of the hall are superb. We really enjoyed Verdi's Requiem. Already looking forward to our next visit.
We attended The Tin Forest program that was designed particularly for children that have sensitivity issues. We attended with our four year old grandson who is sensitive to noise. Our grandson seemed to enjoy the concert.
I will come back. I had an opportunity to come twice but my best moment was watching my favorite movie with not just an orchestra but an a capella group!
Beautiful Hall Concert. Amazing acoustics!
The finest of performance halls in this country. Beautiful, comfortable seating and unsurpassed accoustic.
It was a beautiful experience. I was especially touched when they acknowledged the members who support them annd make the orchestra available to so many!
The aesthetics were very pleasing and the sound was tremendous. I'm a sound guy, and I was blown away by the acoustics in the room. Everyone was dressed up and respectful during the performance.
Stunning performances. The orchestra plays as a single entity, violins so in unison that they sound like one instrument. Won a Grammy for their recording of Sibelius. Worth a trip to Minneapolis to hear them. Also broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio (KSJN) Friday evenings.
Great experience. I loved their Pride Month Comcery. The building is also really neat. Hopefully I can make it back to more orchestra concerts.
Their concert with Cloud Cult was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The arrangement was phenomenal as was the orchestra and band.
Watching the Minnesota Orchestra was SO fun. They are so incredibly talented. We were on the second balcony on the left side and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Acoustics we're obviously incredible! Loved the movie music theme. And the Circ performance was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed the performance!!
Amazing performance as always! Also love the Venue of Orchestra Hall - acoustics & sight lines are great in any seat.
Beautiful and comfortable venue. Sound is perfect, of course. However, a real lack of summerfest info. I would like to see a list and hours of food vendors, with menus.
Beautiful venue. I’m always impressed with concerts I see here. The sound is great and not a bad seat in the house.
Cool venue for an orchestra. Building is nice and modern with walkways and an open concept. The theatre was design well with acoustics in mind.
Minnesota Orchestra's International Day of Music 2019 was a wonderful celebration of the joy and community music brings to humankind. It was especially delightful to hear the beautiful soprano Goitsemange Lehobye and selections from MO and Minnesota Chorale's incredible 2018 South African tour. UBUNTU!
Beautiful venue, phenomenal orchestra.
There isn't a bad seat in the house. Loved performing here and I love seeing shows here. Truly a gem. Make sure you go to a concert here!
Osmo Vanska is a brilliant and talented conductor. It was the best performance of Handel's Messiah that I have seen yet. Masterful and beautiful performance! Well worth it!
The venue was gorgeous, seats were comfortable, and staff was friendly. The orchestra sounded fantastic and had a great stage presence.
I've attended numerous concerts by the Minnesota Orchestra and they never fail to impress. World class musicians led by the astonishing maestro Osmo Vänskä. I encourage anyone who as even a passing interest to attend a concert.
A wonderful orchestra with a beautiful concert hall.
Love the venue and like the orchestra. For me it depends more on the music being played rather than the venue but the venue itself is top notch.
Amazing performance hall! Acoustics are wonderful on the ears. The Minnesota Orchestra is a top notch group!
Fantastic shows the whole family can enjoy.
I’ve been to the orchestra hall a couple times, but most recently I went for a yoga class in the lobby! A violinist played for us and it was so fun.
An amazing music venue. The accoustics make any show a great experience. Even the lobby archecture is a pleasure to view from inside and outside.
Beautiful design, terrific acoustics, well staffed.
First time. Empire Strikes Back in Concert. Absolutely fantastic. The whole experience was great from the minute we walked in the door to the minute we left.
Beautiful building and great place to see some music. If you have a chance to see Osmo Vanska conduct the MN Orchestra before he retires I would highly recommend it.
I hadn't been there for quite a while, and it was so nice to be back! A wonderful night of music!
Yoga Class with Music - Musical Flow at Orchestra Hall was exceptional! Bright, sunny and open lobby; Kathy Kienzle (Principal Harp) played celestial music; Michelle Henkel (Whispering Cave) lead an inspired yoga class for all levels; gift bags from Pranarom essential oils. An uplifted, peaceful energy with over 100 yogis. Next class in February. Register on MN Orchestra website -
Had a fantastic experience at the Orchestra! Clean nice sounding Orchestra Hall. Staff is super nice. Need to make more trips here soon.
Very nice place for a concert. There are not really any bad seats. Double check with staff on site as their website is not always accurate about intermission(s).
The movie series are a great idea. Totally fun.
Always an amazing experience!
Best Prokofiev 5 ever! Wonderful conductor. Orchestra incredible. Concerto better piece than ecpected.Loved Tetzlaff.
The venue is great for concerts and events. went to Ben Folds concert most recently and the main event along with additional acts were well organized.
Nice comfortable seating for a concert hall.
Beautiful! Comfortable. Full of talented musicians!
(The most expensive bar I ever encountered) but good drinks.
Went to the Scandanavian Christmas last Saturday at 2:00. The Minnesota Orchestra is first class all the way! Impeccable professionals producing beautiful, awe inspiring music, in a first class hall. The program produced funny moments and even produced an appearance by Doc Severerson!
Wonderful, beautiful music for people of all ages.
Great event for my son's pre-school. Such a wonderful opportunity for these kiddos to be exposed to sound and music through this Orchestra Hall hosted event.
Excellent venue and incredible sound quality
Sound was wonderful on the main floor, but I find that the sound can be felt better in the balcony. Regardless if you get a chance to go. Go very worth it.
Awesome experience! Highly recommend it for a night out!
Very nice. Well maintained. Great acoustics and the show was wonderful. A great and memorable time for my first visit.
Love the orchestra. Orchestra Hall is great for listening and seeing. The lobby is cold and broken up by a maze of stairs and walkways.
Saw Dessa with the orchestra. Loved hearing all those beautiful instruments along with her beautiful voice. It was an enjoyable evening
Stunning performance of the Shostakovich Violin concertos. Edusei was a visual pleasure to watch
The orchestra was terrific as usual. Principal Cello Anthony Ross was outstanding as soloist in Shostakovich's Second Cello Concerto.
Great experience to watch A New Hope with a live orchestra. I will definitely do more of them and other shows.
Always top notch service, ALWAYS !!
Beautiful building, and very clean. Definitely a place to visit.
This is my third visit to orchestra hall to see the MN Orchestra. Just saw them perform the movie score to Star Wars. The smile hasn't left my face since. A must see for everyone at some point. Always a treat.
Amazing experience. Vaccination record requirement is a plus and all other places should do it too!
Beethoven's 5th was amazing!
Bar lines are long but the remodel of this place is really cool. Went and saw Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, fun show.
Everything about my experience was wonderful. From walking in the doors and being greeted by polite and helpful ushers, to the breathtakint performance. A great place to spend the evening!
Always worth the money! Great venue, great orchestra! Go!
This world class orchestra under the direction of Osmo Vanska continues to play music of all periods, recording many Scandinavian composers, and reaching out to the community schools. It has toured Cuba and South Africa.
World-class performances in a world-class orchestra hall.
The acoustics are amazing. The venue is just the right size. Hardly a poor seat in the house.
Beautiful inside and out. A world class orchestra. Easy skyway access to the 11th St parking ramp under the Hilton. Very reasonably priced.
Great Christmas concert December 2019.
GTCYS Spring Festival was an awesome experience in the Minnesota Orchestra facility... Exceptional space for aspiring musicians to experience a professional performance venue! Thank you MnO and GTCYS!
Enjoyed the Naval Academy Choir. What a great night! We were impressed with the conductor and her knowledge and related to the event.
I love going to see the Minnesota Orchestra. We've seen several shows here recently, and the venue and music are great. We'll be back soon.
I came here for a field trip a couple years very beautiful nice place
Minnesota Youth Symphonies.... fantastic performance and wonderful music!
Gorgeous building, terrific orchestra, great acoustics. The family friendly events are fun, the special concerts are informative and fun.
Amazing! Always entertaining no matter what the show is!
Went to see Handel's Messiah tonight and it was great!!
The building is so clean and cozy, the staff is kind and pleasant, the music is always world-class.
Great concert. Players are excellent as are the acoustics. The programs are always interesting and well done.
This is such a terrific place to continue to enjoy the fine arts of music. Great locale, easy parking, friendly staff.
World-class musicians and organization. Visually and acoustically beautiful hall. Always love coming to MN Orch concerts here!
Fabulous music, great atmosphere, wonderful stuff happening before and after the concert...just a great evening all around!
Amazing performance and setting
Love watching the orchestra with a classic movie like Star Wars.
What a fabulous place for any concert...summer or winter!
The music will enchant and delight young and old... don't wait!
Beautiful hall, great acoustics, and a fantastic orchestra. This hall is one of my favorites.
Great show and a nice facility.
We are so lucky to have such talent right here in our backyard. Fantastic concert. Keep it up!
Always a great time. The Nelson Mandela tribute event was wonderful and so was the day of music event.
Always a fun experience. Excellent music, great venue, phenomenal asset to our community.
Took our toddler to the family friendly performance of Peter and the Wolf. Was truly family friendly, and the performance was excellent- very well done!
Friendly staff easy to find to help you if needed. Bathrooms were very clean and there are enough that during intermission there is not a long wait.
Incredible acoustics, lighting, staff, and stage production. I had an incredibly amazing time performing here, Wonderful!
MMEA 2020 groups were fabulous
Beautiful venue and of course top notch music. Will definitely be returning for more concerts.
Loved it! West Side Story performed by the orchestra live and they showed the movie. Very fun!!
Beautiful venue - I recommend seeing a movie there with the orchestra accompaniment. So fun!
Wonderful show - UP! Lovely staff, affordable parking and very family friendly.
Minnesota orchestra was spectacular! The talent on that stage was incredible and so enjoyable to watch!
