We weren't able to go inside. It didn't look like you'd be able to. It was a very photogenic area. The lighthouse was the main thing, but there were birds, fish, a bridge, and buildings off in the distance that were picture worthy for sure. Great place to walk. Had a long peir like sidewalk that ran along the water.

We visited this lighthouse on our tour around Lake Michigan. Having the GPS to help us navigate to the parking lot was very helpful as there are a few extra turns to get there. We enjoyed the stop and took a little time to walk out to the end of the pier to take our pictures of the light. I was not expecting the area to be built up as well as it was, and would recommend visiting the area if you enjoy lighthouses.

Great location to visit for views of the historic-red lighthouse, the Daniel W. Hoan Memorial Bridge, Allen-Bradley Clock tower (f/k/a the Polish Moon), boat traffic, Lake Michigan, & nighttime cityscapes. I did not see any fees reqd to use the trail or visit the lighthouse.

Very beautiful place for the sights. The walk wasn't long and definitely worth it. Free parking near by. Great view for pictures. Definitely recommend as a must see sight in downtown Milwaukee. Will be going back again.

It was slightly confusing to find since I wasn't at all familiar with the area but directions through google maps took me there eventually. There are large trees nearby that provide great shade if you wanna have a pic if or spend some time there. Good place to take a bike ride or a run to as well. Parking was easy and plentiful. Great place to relax.

This is a nice place to be away from the city for a while and just enjoy the lake. There are few cars, few people and you can just enjoy the peaceful sight. The lighthouse looks a bit dirty and abandoned, but otherwise it's a good place to sit and be alone with your thoughts.

This has got to be Milwaukee's premier photo-op: two lighthouses, a golden arch bridge, city skyline, and Great Lake. Plus, the parking is free and walking paths abound.

Beautiful view of the city where the rivers meet lake Michigan. Most times of day there are people here but it is seldom crowded. A very nice place for some fresh air. Probably less busy of an area than much of the rest of the lakefront.

The Milwaukee Pierhead Light is an active lighthouse located in the Milwaukee harbor, just south of downtown.This aid to navigation is a 'sister' of the Kenosha North Pier Light. The station was established in 1872. It is west of the Milwaukee Breakwater Light, and is near the outflow of the Milwaukee River—not far east of where that river converged with the Kinnickinnic River—into the Milwaukee Harbor and Lake Michigan.

A favorite place for fishing. The lighthouse is a photo-magnet. It is on the edge of the Summerfest grounds and Lakeshore State Park.

A beautiful lighthouse. Not sure what the magic is with old lighthouses but make sure you add this one to your list if you enjoy lighthouses as much as we do. The shores of Lake Michigan are teaming with lighthouses and everyone is unique and has it's own style. Fun to look back at the photos and compare to other lighthouses close by or far off.

I really enjoy checking out old, or even modern, lighthouses. This one was pretty cool and seemed to be well maintained. The hundreds of seagulls circling around made for some good pics. However it was roped off and wasn't allowed to get real close to it.

Milwaukee is low key by nature but don’t let that trick you. You’ll find “hidden gems” everywhere. The pier is nice during summer and is it not crowded so you can bring your family here.

What a great find. I am glad I took a few minutes off a busy road to find this treasure while I was in Milwaukee. It was a little tricky to find but GPS got me there. It took about 10 minutes and it was totally worth it. Parking was easy. It was a short easy walk and I now have some amazing incredible pictures from my trip. Totally worth the detour!!

We went during the evening. Summerfest was going on, so that was a bonus. It was a little too windy for me, but it made for awesome videos. Lighthouse was cute and the Milwaukee skyline lit up was amazing. Nice, lit up pathway made it comfortable to walk at night.

During the summer, this lighthouse is fantastic to visit. It's pretty obscure, but you can watch the lake or even the Hoen bridge. Great place to take friends and family when they visit MKE.

Our first time experience in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was nothing short of amazing with the beautiful harbor, parks, boat rides, historical lighthouses and the night time view of the colorful lights. Though we didn't get to see everything we most certainly will return to see and photograph more. Though their was grafitti on the lighthouse, we overlooked it and were taken by the beauty from the pier with a beautiful sky after a period of storm.

Nice area for a lighthouse but it’s a shame the amount of graffiti you can see around and on it. Covering it up throws the color of the lighthouse off and the black graffiti on the front base makes for bad pictures.
