People don't usually think of Las Vegas as a university town like they do say Ann Arbor or Ithaca. But a university town it is! The University of Nevada Las Vegas has a gorgeous campus and some world-renown programs. Its hospitality school, for example, ranks second in the world after Cornell's. So it's not surprising that the university would also have a stellar arts program. Because everyone knows Las Vegas has jaw-dropping entertainment. We saw a dance program. These students were as professional as they come. The first half was modern dance; the second half was a ballet: Stravinsky's Firebird. It was hard to believe they were still studying. The theater itself is a well, a university theater. The plush red seats were comfortable. But they are close together so you have to stand up if someone comes by. There are steps and elevators to go to the back rows and the balcony. The sound is really good. Not Smith Center quality but fine for its age. There are few if any sight line blockages. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. There are plenty of exits and they are clearly marked. The two-story lobby is inviting. There's a concession bar for liquid refreshment but no alcohol. The plaza out front is beautifully landscaped. Lights highlight the trees at night. The best part: Parking is FREE. There's a huge garage on Cottage Grove with plenty of room. There's a stop light at Cottage Grove and Maryland Parkway so you can pull out easily to get home. The ticket office is next to the parking garage. The theater is up the stairs in its own plaza. If there is a production at UNLV, forget the Las Vegas Strip and support these talented students....because it will cost you a lot more when they end up in a production on the Strip!

My daughter's orchestra recital was here. It was the 3rd one over the last couple of years. I love the fact that it's easily accessible from the parking structure, and seating is plentiful. Great experience, classic venue, and orchestra adventure.

It's actually quite a nice venue. Just be advised, if you're in the upper level balcony area it gets kind of warm up there I think they don't quite have their air handler situation balanced. We were there and it was cold outside so maybe the heat was cranked up just a bit too high other than that, very nice! We'll definitely come back again for other events.

Went to a comedy show here recently and enjoyed the atmosphere. Seats were comfy with plenty of leg room. Only downside was no alcohol at the bar and not able to take drinks in which is disappointing, but the theatre itself was good.

I was seated on Q row... The lights on the floor behind the stage kept rolling to glare right in my eyes. It hurts and I could not see the stage,, Your seating area is not easily accessible to a person like myself with a walker The last time we were here I saw a man carrying his walker step by step extremely dangerous.

The staff could not have been more helpful. They have a useful elevator which i took to my ADA seat. It was like threading a needle but I got there and was happy with the view. The performance was excellent by two flamenco guitarists. The prime international one was kind enough to do a meet and greet and posed for photos with a smile. My bus driver (paratransit) was lost but a security guard kept me company until the bus showed up

I have both performed at this venue and been in the crowd of this venue and it is one of my more favorite places to do both. We came last for a lecture series with Guillermo del Toro and from what we could tell every spot in there was a good view but thankfully we were in the second row and were able to see very clearly and here clearly past the speakers.

Went to watch my kid perform in the ccsd orff festival and had a great time. Fantastic acoustics. The only snafu occurred because I downloaded my tickets into Google pay (as recommended on the purchasing site (same way for basketball tickets)) but the arts department software doesn't communicate properly w Google pay. We got the problem sorted out quickly and smoothly, but FYI don't waste your time w Google pay when going to ham hall.

The building was just fine and the seating, however though the building was rented for another college, they were very quick to usher us all out afterward even though we wanted to take pictures for the graduation. I thought that they were rude and very unfriendly.

Went to my daughter's graduation ceremony here. I really hope they do it here again in the future. Even though their was road construction leading into the venue making it difficult to navigate, it was still a wonderful experience. Much better than a previous venue we used the year before. The pictures we we're able to get in the surrounding area are gorgeous. Even with the crowds of families there we were very easily able to get photos with a clear backdrop like we were the only people there. I REALLY hope I school books them for future graduations.

It's okay, definitely nothing like the Smith center. Have done several concerts here and the sound isn't the best. The place is dated. There is a lot of seating and they're comfortable enough. Always seems to be a problem with parking. You buy a ticket and then asked to park on the roof of the garage. They are very quick to ticket patrons cars. I'm assuming that students pay to park in the garage but not sure why they ticket and fine the general public. Yes my father got fined once. Bottom line it's an ok place.

Through the decades, I've seen numerous concerts, live performances, etc. It's time to give some props to the concert hall at my alma mater. My most recent visit was to see W. Kamau Bell with a friend who's a fan. I realized it's been about a decade since my last visit here. The parking garage right next to the Hall makes life so much easier. For such an old building, the concert hall still knocks it out. The foyer makes it easy for patrons to meet their party as it's spacious and can serve as a waiting area until the doors are opened. The acoustics, lighting, seating all come together very well here at Artemus Ham. The high ceilings make the Hall seem even more spacious than it actually is and allows for bigger productions that require tall ceilings. The seats are comfortable and there's plenty of space should people need to pass through. Sound system is top notch from music to stand up. The acoustics work very well with the lighting. Overall, everything was designed optimally and the staff operating has always been on point. If you ever come across a performance to check out at Artemus Ham, you'll never have to worry about the concert hall delivering. You can just sit back and enjoy the show. Good luck! =)

Even though there's a lot of construction around the hall, within the community of UNLV, it was easy to get to. There was a huge parking facility right there. There wasn't a long way to walk which is great for the disabled if they were dropped off. Bathrooms were close to the venue, and the seating was comfortable. It was a huge venue, the only problem being stairs that you had to walk down to get to most of the seating. They did have a row for the handicapped.

The Moth Radio Hour presented a wonderful evening of storytelling in the wonderful Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. Wonderful venue. Be aware of many stairs, if there is a concern, be sure to catch one of the many attendents/ushers... they are extremely helpful. Water was even reasonably priced during intermission for a venue of this sort. (Be prepared to shell out a couple extra dollars for anything besides water... but you get to take home a fun commemorative cup.)

My gorgeous female friend and I got dressed to the nines and went here to enjoy the Bolshoi Ballet. It was great. The price was great too, even for close to the front seats. It was hard to find in the darkness and rain. Need some good street signs for new visitors. I have been to Moscow twice but had to come home to Las Vegas to see the Bolshoi!

The Auditorium was great. The problem is when you line up. You get there and are maybe 20th in line. They tell you to "snake" the line to make more room. There are no lines. People hold places for 15 other family members and you go from #20 to number ...well over 100. There are no lines at that point. It is everyone for themselves. Put up ropes.

Enjoy it during the NPC Body Building Championships. Place was clean, cool, and staff was professional. Make sure if you sit in the balcony no feet on the chairs.. lots of people were told to take there feet down of the back rest of the chair in front of them.

I also attended Las Vegas Academy of the Arts from 2007-2011 and Artemus Hall at UNLV was just as big, if not bigger, than the Lowden Theatre located at LVA.
