Reviews of Indianapolis International Airport
A wonderful airport, big, airy, well designed. We were there on a Monday, and there was hardly anyone there making everything efficient and fast. There are plenty of food options for all types of tastes. Keep the kids away from the big candy shops (you'll see the big spinning lollipops). There are a massive number of chairs, with power to charge your phones on almost all chairs. The wifi is straight forward, and fast.
Highly Highly impressed!!! This is one of the cleanest, well laid airports ive ever been in. Ive traveled through several and Indy beats them all. TSA was fast, and you don't have to hike 100 miles to get to your rental car or ground transportation. Moving sidewalks in the terminal to speed you down to the further gates. Good job Indy!
I've been to a lot of airports around the country and this is one of the nicest and most efficient ones I've been to. It's well organized and doesn't require a ton of transport to get between sections of it. It has a nice, large food court right after ticketing, then you can go through security and get to the terminals to either the right or left. Super easy.
The bathrooms and other facilities are clean and never crowded. The shuttles to the parking lots and getting to the rental cars is also easy.
Flying with firearms has never been a problem for me here as well.
State of the Art Airport. Sleek, refined, plenty of Open court areas. Shops, gifts, a variety of food choices in Main Welcoming Hall. Short, efficient Security screenings. Larger airports should adopt more of these traits.
Clean, efficient and new airport offering many eating spots as well as the Delta club lounge.
Security lines are almost always short and you get quickly processed.
Plenty of seating in departures whether you're looking for business call quiet areas or more open space, there is somewhere for everyone.
Toilets are clean and spacious.
Rental car pick up and drop off is very close to the main terminal so there is no transfer via bus.
Easy to get to. This airport is easy to park unload drop off and anything. The whole property is smoke free. If you smoke get it in before you get there. This is a strict policy. The lines aren’t bad. Drop off of luggage is easy. There’s a small food court before security. There’s not much after that anymore. I’ll update if I see anything this time. There is a place to grab a drink before and after security.
Easy convenient parking. Checking available online or on site. Plenty of dining in main and additional concourses. Motorized walkways. Helpful staff. Highly recommended. I parked there for a month and it costs $320. Not bad given I made $15k. It was a small investment. Very comfortable, beautiful airport.
The Indianapolis Airport continues to be one of the nicer, cleaner airports I've visited. The flow of everything makes traveling a lot more efficient and, dare I say it, enjoyable. A lot of stores and food places to tie you over while you wait for your flight. I do not have TSA, but the security lines have never taken longer than 20 minutes to get through. One of the few airports I never mind taking off from or flying into.
This really is one of my favorite airports. It is smaller. New clean. Family friendly. The security line is not bad. Fun art to look at. Convenient long and short term parking and drop off/pick up. There is a cell phone lot. I usually go to Chick-FIL-A for gluten free meal.
Nice airport! Very conveniently placed terminals, self explanatory signs, good gift shops. I liked the Indy 500 cars on display and the wall murals not to mention the hilarious cows at the entrance. Garage has Enterprise, Avis and other car rental companies located a short walk down from the main area. Overall - great place! Impossible to get lost even for a newcomer. Hope to come back to visit Indiana again sometime in the future!
Extremely friendly staff at this airport. It was clean and easy to navigate. Lot's of photo ops and great historical information on the city.
I love how friendly, and helpful all the staffs are. I used the American Airline here but had interactions with couple of people including people at shops and cab arrangements and you could see the Midwest love all around. Everyone had their feet forward to help you out. This airport has huge nice plants and some NASCAR cars as well. Nice place to sit and rest for a while.
This is the cleanest airport that I've visited yet! All of the staff were the friendliest and this airport is packed with amazing art! It's easy to figure out and it's not spaced out so you can find your way with no problems! Very nice!
Nice, new and spacious. TSA security was quick, CLEAR does appear to be available. TSA precheck is only available at one location. Several food options are available and rent cars are within walking distance of the terminal.
The staff does a great job ensuring everyone gets through the security checkpoints quickly and efficiently. I love the IndyCars that are displayed throughout the concourses.
After flying in many cities and countries, I think our airport is very nice! Easy parking, easy check in, and two main concourses, A and B. Lot's of shopping and food!!
It was a breeze to get through TSA when I went through this airport... Easy to navigate where you are going once you get in as well. I loved all of the unique artwork displayed throughout the airport, even the bathroom symbols were very unique and eye catching! There were USB charges and outlets readily available on tables and under seats throughout the airport. All of these things plus the many shops and food places make traveling through Indianapolis Airport nicer than many others.
Clean and no smell compared to las vegas, miami or Los Angeles airports .
There is no way you would get lost.. helpful staffing.
I absolutely LOVE this airport! It’s welcoming, spacious, bright, and has a lot of food options not to mention a FAO Schwartz!!! TSA moves swiftly and you’re off to your gate.
Friendly folks. Not so busy that you feel claustrophic but you can tell youre at an int'l airport. Modern and cool artwork, design, and architecture. Very spacious and inviting. Lots of "moving sidewalks" to quickly get to the terminals and gates. Plenty of food and shopping options.
This is the airport I usually go to whenever I’m flying somewhere as an Indy native. Compared to most other airports I can remember going to, I love that it’s not crazy gigantic and challenging to navigate. It’s very walkable and compact, unlike some other airports that have literal subways that transport you between concourses. Most times I’ve been here, it’s been clean, quiet, and quick to get through. The economy lot is also very affordable ($9 per day the last time I parked my car here for a short trip). Personally, if I had to pick between this airport and Chicago, I’d go here every time.
Not the most efficient security screening ... so come early! Spacious, lots of shops, beautiful art, restaurants, and a nice atrium.
I love how easy it was to navigate not only the inside but also driving to and from the rental car areas and getting off and on the highway.
I found the airport to not be busy with plenty of food options.
I've been in a lot of airports and this one is a fair comparison. Friendly staff, adequate seating.
Nice mid size airport. Much easier to get in and out of compare to a Chicago/New York sized airport.
Decent availability for direct flights, easy parking and a nice open terminal with several places to eat/shop. Security has never taken me more than 10-15 minutes but is usually shorter.
However, know the restaurants and shops may close earlier than expected due to staffing shortages like most businesses these days. If you at traveling later in the day and want to guarantee dinner, it’s cheaper and easier to bring food with you.
First time flying out. New to Indy. Such a lovely airport. Decorated lovely for the holidays. Love the "INDY" photo prop. Super cute. Friendly staff. Only issue was the wait for the parking shuttle took a bit but it was busy. Driver was super nice and helpful.
I took a little vacation to Florida the beginning of August. I flew from Indianapolis to Orlando. I flew Frontier Airlines from Indianapolis International Airport. This was my first time flying from Indianapolis in several years and I was very impressed. TSA was so nice. The airport itself was clean and easy to navigate. I was hoping to see more places to eat past TSA but there are several before. You can take food past TSA just not drinks. When I got back, it was easy for my ride to find me when picking me up. Gorgeous airport, clean, easy to navigate in and around the airport as well as other areas.
Out of all the airports I have traveled to, I can confidently say that my home base airport is my favorite one. It is constantly ranked as one of the best ones for a reason. It’s always clean, and well organized. The bathrooms are too notch. This airport deserves the merit it gets.
Great staff and easy process!! And amazing view on the flights
As my first time at this airport, my experience was good. I appreciate the convenience of being able to walk out of the airport to my rental car. I also appreciate that for early morning flights there are establishments open to get breakfast and a cup of coffee. Overall a pleasant experience.
Very easy to navigate this airport took no time at all to get from one area to the other.
It’s a very nice airport, good signage makes it easy to find parking and drop off points. Once inside and to easy to navigate to your airline and then on to your gate. Leaving is also easy the signage went to right to the exit it’s best to repair your parking as you’re leaving the terminal before you get to your car.
This is a very stylish, clean, friendly and well-run airport. I've been to airports all over the US and this is a favorite.
All of the employees were extremely kind and helpful.
The TSA staff is, hands down, the best and friendliest I have ever come across!
Great experience!
This is my home airport. I love flying in/out of here. It's always very clean and I've yet to see a large line at security. If by chance there's a long line at one concourse for security, you can go to the other one as they are connected to each other on the other side of the X-ray machines. The only downside of this airport is that because it is a relatively small airport, you usually have to fly to a hub first to get to your final destination. Florida is well-served, however. If you ever flew out of the old Indy airport, you know what an upgrade this place is!
The American Airlines check-in is super fast and efficient. United on the other hand is fashionably late most times when first opening up for baggage check in the mornings. Overall though, Indy is a great airport. Easy to navigate and the concourses are small, no need to rush.
Ok, nothing really to see but their process was smooth and quick.
This review is for Delta Airlines ticket agent, Rachel. She went above and beyond to assist me to my gate due to a delay in wheelchair services. She was so kind and pleasant, I truly appreciate her. Help like that does not come often in this day and age so thank you for living up to the Delta standards and being an amazing human being!
I love this air port....clean,organized and exactly size
Don't know how this airport calls itself "top rated". I travel out of IND almost every week, and EVERY trip at least one of moving walkways or escalators is out of service. They are just now getting some better food options in the B concourse. Just do better IND, just do better.
IND is a great airport that is laid out very well. The restrooms are clean and security checkpoints run very smoothly
After losing my drivers license i was very concerned about going through security. They could not have been more helpful! Security made my experience much less scary than i had anticipated! The logistics of the Indy
airport are very user friendly!
Had transfer to another flight here. Very quiet, no crowds, food available near my gate, easy in and out.
This airport seemed more crowded to me, but not because it was busy. There is a lot going on. Lots of advertising. Lots of vendors. Lots to look at and process in addition to finding out where your gate or baggage or rental car is.
Getting your rental is a exercise in patience...so try a skip-the-line option if your rental agency has one
Returning the rental seemed like we had to go up a floor down a floor and back up a floor or two.
It's easy to get too easy to and easy to get from check-in to the gates. Great central food court and a couple of nicer higher grade restaurants in the concourses. Baggage handling for inbound flights is efficient. Its easy to figure out the ground transportation if you're looking for hotel or rental shuttles or the UBER and LYFT zones. No serious gotchas or warnings, just a nice airport. If this was helpful, give it a thumbs up.
This is a very neat and tidy airport. Everyone is so friendly. It’s not very big and all services are close together. Car rental was easy, baggage claim efficient. Handy to have McDonalds right when you enter the airport.
Best airport in the USA! Security is always fast, access is easy, abundant parking options. Rarely have lines at counters, always enough seating at gates, and for some reason flights often arrive early. Rare to have weather delays
Absolutely amazingly beautiful airport! Very clean and easy to navigate. Surrounded by beauty from what Indiana has to offer. This airport got ranked top airport for a while in the US. I highly recommend a visit here!
I would describe the Indy airport as the most forgettable airport experience- in a good way. The economy parking is reasonable and the shuttle system is reliable at all hours. The bathrooms are (usually) spotlessly clean. There's a decent selection of food to buy, some of which is outside the security checkpoint. The TSA officers aren't the nicest I have ever experienced, but they're not mean. Airport stuff still happens- occasional long lines at ticketing counters, TSA crazies, delayed flights, but usually the place is pretty organized, easy to get around, and the staff are pleasant and helpful.
Always clean & the best quality toilet paper of any US airport. Yes, I said that! They also consistently have hot water. When you wash your hands in a public place, you need hot water. This seems to be a rare commodity in public restrooms these days.
Medium sizes airport with a decent amount of stores inside. There is a bunch of artwork everywhere. TSA line was quick.
There are bars and restaurants on either side of security.
Rental car location was easy to find and attached to the airport.
Simple, which is nice. And hats off to the great one, Mario Andretti.
Indianapolis International Airport's numerous accolades are well-deserved. As soon as I walked into the airport for the first time after flying to Indianapolis for a wedding, it immediately became the prettiest airport I have ever flown through. The arrival/departure terminal reminds me a lot of that of Washington Dulles, but, unlike Dulles, it's actually aesthetically-pleasing and not terrible on principle.
They’re not clear on where you should be picked up at for Uber or Lyft. But here’s photos on where you should be across from arrivals.
Very neat and clean. Good food options and compare to other cities airports, relatively smooth and quick security process. Walking escalator and kids play area helps when traveling with little ones.
Medium sized airport that is very clean and staffed by friendly people. Easy access to everything. If you like escalators and moving sidewalks, you’ll love the light show and fun.
I have been to around 70 airports and this is still my favorite. Of course I am biased since it is my home airport, but I have talked to multiple pilots and other airline employees from other cities who agree. Clean, well designed and efficient. Of course the tiny airports can be even easier, but then you are in trouble if a flight gets cancelled. At IND, there are still plenty of options if you run into problems
We had a late flight and arrived in the economy parking by bus around midnight only to find we had a very low tire. The service booth at the drop off provided a way to contact someone to come and air it up for us. The gentleman arrived quickly, aired
up our tire and did it with a smile. Indianapolis airport is a favorite to fly into and out of. ❤️
Cool airport. Very easy to navigate and get through. It's not got loads of stores but when it's down to travel it's an extremely user friendly airport!
Love the layout of the airport and the cleanliness. The employees here are exceptionally nice and helpful when needing assistance. Good variety of food options.
Ticket counter lines, TSA lines all moved quickly and smoothly.
I guess it's good, I have nothing to compare it to as this was my first time flying, our plane left at 10:40pm so everything was closed like food, coffee, gift shops, etc. But over all it was very clean. And staff seemed friendly.
When our car wouldn't start after returning to the Indy airport we were assisted by Steve after calling the number posted in the shuttle shelter. He was very kind and helpful and got the car jumped quickly. We were so grateful to get on the road in a matter of minutes instead of the hours that I was worried it would take.
Clean and quiet Airport. TSA staff is just as unfriendly as everywhere......
It’s been years since my last visit to Indianapolis. I must say I was very impressed with this airport. Super clean, very easy to navigate and really great service from all vendors including rental car pick up and return. I found the live DJ playing wonderful Christmas music to be delightful. My meal at Sun King Brewery in concourse B was delightful.
Indianapolis International Airport is very customer friendly. Plenty of Restrooms, Shops, and Places to Eat.
TSA is very well run, the lines moved quickly at 6AM. I wish that all US International Airports ran this smoothly. The use of canines to detect drugs or suspicious items is a deterrent. GOOD JOB INDIANAPOLIS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.✈️😎💯👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
In and out trip yesterday, first time visiting. Nice layout, resembles the Detroit(DTW) air port alot with how the terminals are set up. I really liked the open area for sitting and eating. Wasn't clustered together like many I've been to
Has been one of my favorite airports to fly in and out of due to its medium size and fast security / luggage.
I do wish they had more direct or international flights but I guess that's the life of living in Indy haha
This was my first time flying in a long time but it wasn't too busy and the people were very friendly~! The person I came to visit said that I would probably be patted down but I just had to empty my stuff and walk through the thingy. Very pleasant trip.
I live in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis International in my opinion is the best, cleanest, and simpliest airport compared to other big airports surround us like Ohare or Metro in Detroit.....On a side note. The staff here is so nice! One of the floor sweeper drivers bought me a drink because the machine wasn't reading my card. Above and beyond. I like that.
IND is a great airport! It’s always clean, it’s bright and spacious, and it’s all one building so there isn’t a need to run or shuttle between terminals.
Small airport which makes to and fro to the gates easy, stress free and fast.
The airport is clean and not over crowded.
Very few food options, so eat before heading out.
Nice airport! Pro tip...to get to the Lyft/Uber area, go down the escalators, across a bridge, down more escalators, around a corner, through a door, across a street. At this point you've probably walked most of the way to your destination already, so maybe skip the wait and just keep walking.
On the day of my departure, outside of the employees and a few travelers EVERYTHING was a breeze.
No wait to check-in.
No wait for wheelchair assistance.
Barely no wait through TSA.
No issues going to my gate
Even the food lines were empty near my gate
Perfect day
I have been to many airport restrooms in the past 3 weeks because of my vaccination. And I was so happy to be home that when I came to use the bathroom in my home town indianapolis I must say good job 👍🏾 because the others made it hard and you made it so much easier. …
One of the cleanest and brightest airports I've been through.
Easiest Airport to get around and offers multiple services. Always clean and plenty of places to charge your devices. Everything a flyer needs.
It's a relatively quick trip through customs. The TSA at this airport are polite and helpful people, who make you feels welcome whether you are coming or going from the airport.
IND is smooth. TSA pre check here has always been fast and very friendly. Terminal is clean. Restrooms aren't nasty ;P...
IND is smooth. TSA pre check here has always been fast and very friendly. Terminal is clean. Restrooms aren't nasty ;P...
A large luxury airport. TSA is nice and it’s easy to navigate. Always clean and a wide selection of food
These people are doing a great job. On one occasion I had to return a vehicle, and I arrived 30 minutes before boarding because of Uber. I was having problems with my phone so I didn't completely check in before I got to the airport. I was able to do that, and get through TSA in time for my flight. I definitely would not recommend this. Also, I had the best flight ever originating from Delta terminal at this airport
I love this G2 job get to know alot of people there at my job is easy sometimes it get alittle out of hand better than love my job for the past 3years there at the airport I'm stay there until I retired from the airport in the future meeting new hire people get to know the G2 secure staff family excellent service 💪💪🙏🙏 …
It’s big. It’s not crowded and very Covid safe. We are flying AA and they moved us up to an earlier flight and gave us row 4 seats. Very nice people. The terminals had some shops open and some closed.
VictorB
This is a great airport. Well maintained and helpful people working there.
Southwest Airlines Flys out of here. They're still going strong 💪! …
Super nice, easy airport to navigate. Parking was easy and fast. TSA had short lines, but everyone was talking to each other and not assisting passengers along with signs and flow to get thru checkpoint was confusing. Busses are always moving to and from economy parking.
Very nice international airport. We enjoy flying out of here to Mexico and Costa Rica. The shuttle service is great and will pick you up not far from where you park. The parking shelters are heated for your convenience while waiting for the shuttle busses which arrive about 5 minutes apart. We found the economy parking reasonable at $9 a day. Note: there are limited food options after going through security so if you’re hungry and have the time you should eat in the pre-check restaurants.
Clean and not too crowded with good selections of food.
Easy airport to navigate because of the tsa minded design. Great experience, would definitely fly out of there again
Smoothest plane ride I been on in a long time. Everyone was extremely nice and very helpful. I paid for delta comfort and it was so worth it to have the extra leg room. Socially distancing and mask was in place, plane was clean and on time. I will be flying Delta from here on out.
This airport has been updated and is well laid out. There are just two terminals and they are both a short walk from the airport corps. The airport is bright and airy with all the modern conveniences. Carpeting at the Southwest gates helps to keep down noise and echo.
Nice airport. Dropping off passengers and picking them up is relatively easy. Parking is usually available and there is a cell phone lot as well. There is a nice food court in the unsecure area if you are waiting for someone. There is also a nice variety of places to eat after you go through security.
Huge, clean airport. Easy access especially if tsa pre checked. Dining options have evolved, diversified, and improved over the years
Just like many airports, congested and hectic!!!
One of the best airports to quickly get through for departure and arrival whether you are an Indiana native or coming from out of state.
I actually enjoyed my time at this airport, especially the historical displays all around. The cars were my favorite since I’ve mostly seen them in movies and on tv. However, the airport was clean, modern design and easy to get around.
I was flying to Uzbekistan with my two children aged 17 and 18 and we decided to stop at Indiana to visit my friends. I met some very nice people and totally recommend this place!
Had to pickup a friend from a trip. Was easy to get in and out of. Signs say where to go for what. We waiting on her in the car at arrivals. Normal airport in and out...
Beautiful and modern airport. Fast service. Clean bathroom. There is a exhibition of awesome old cars. When I returned they haven’t TSA pre-check and I paid for to have that service in all airports of USA. I had to do the big line and all the annoying process. Any way all TSA employees were very nice.
As air travel goes, IIA is a very pleasant experience. Getting in and boarding is relatively easy and the employees are very nice and professional.
So far I have been to ORD and EWR aiports in the US . But Indy airport has been my fav so far ! Well designed , easy to access.
The airport is great but be careful for the taxi company “A-Star Taxi”. Was a scam saying “his meter didn’t work because someone tried to steal it”. Tried to charge $40 for an $18.00 trip.
Good airport with great variety of eateries and shops. Check out the rocking chairs - sadly only two though...
Frequent Flyer here and I have to say this is one of the nicest and easiest airports to navigate. Plenty of places to grab a snack before your flight and the facilities are pristine.
No real complaints. I haven't been to a lot of airports so I don't know how to honestly compare it to others. All my experiences here have been not unpleasant. The restrooms were clean, working well, and fully stocked. I did not have any negative experiences with employees. There are a decent amount of food places to choose from, both before and after going through security. My flight to and from this airport have all been on time. There is comfortable seating and plenty of outlets for charging electronics. Traffic around the airport was a bit intense this time due to the holiday weekend and the race. Typically you will run into construction on one of the highways at any point during the year.
Went well minus the extended lay over through the morning. "Frontier Airlines" was very helpful when I needed to reschedule my flight returning to Indianapolis, IN. on Monday night.
Frontier Airlines" landed 30 min early upon flight schedule arrival to Indy today, Saturday.
Beautiful airport and very easy to get around. This airport is small so there's no walking too far to your gate. The security check point is very organized. They really decorated it beautifully for Christmas as you can see by the photo.
What an awesome airport! It's got great architecture and great flow. What a pleasure to travel through this airport!
Well laid out airport. Family bathrooms are located all around the terminal. Restaurants and convince shops also are located throughout the terminal. In the main atrium there is a lot of seating and food options, but all of this is outside of the security checks. Big windows overlook the runways, they are great for watching a storm roll through, but unfortunately that might also mean that your flight has been delayed. And like most airports there is Indiana history on display.
Airport is clean, easy to find your way around. Staff was very helpful. TSA was as friendly as you could ask for and quick in doing their job. Not a lot of options for food in the terminal I was in, but otherwise very nice.
I like everything about Indianapolis International Airport, it's so convenient everything seems to be right in front of you, definitely one of the nicest Airport I've been too
We have a great airport. You don't have long waits and it is easy to get through. After going to other airports you realize how clean and nice our airport is.
This airport is really easy to navigate to and through. I got thru security in a matter of minutes.
I loved this airport. Everything is very clean. Even the washrooms.
The wait was not long, beautiful gate terminal.
Nice artifact. Hope to visit again soon.
Love this airport! Clean, open space, variety of artwork throughout, a field of solar panels, etc. Easy to navigate, layout & signage is simple. Cell phone lot is close & easy to find, as are directions getting in & out.
Not a bad airport. Very well designed and fluid. Security lines were short around 1:00 PM. Restrooms could be a little cleaner.
Nice sz not too large or overwhelming; easy to navigate upon arrival to baggage claim. Beautiful displays of artwork. Lots of eateries & shops.
A truly awesome airport! Everything was much faster than we're accustomed to at other moderately sized airports. Highly recommend!
My sister and I just flew back home from Indianapolis International Airport. The Airport was nice and I was able to purchase some very nice souvenirs from the Trip Advisor store. We were in Indiana to visit our father and his wife for the 4th of July weekend. It was a really nice trip. I enjoyed it. My first time ever in Indiana. It really is pretty there. But I'm a Texan in ❤️. Our flight ✈️ from Indianapolis back home to Austin, Texas was very pleasant.
I brag to everyone about how nice the IND airport is. But it truly is the best airport! Electric and USB plugs at each seat. Bar top counters with stools and electrical outlets. High back and high sided chairs for some privacy. Plenty of shops and food options. Security is always a breeze with lines quickly moving. Attached parking garage with rental cars available. Most airports don’t even compare! Come fly through IND to experience the best for yourself!
Quick wait through TSA; never have a problem. Just follow directions, and you'll be straight through. Signs and information are everywhere. Clean and fresh. Love this airport
Easy entry through security. Was able to find a book from someone I recently watch at GLS21. Sadly, was wanting a salad or some healthier food from the vending machine but everything was expired.
Did not have TSA Precheck available at both gates, otherwise clean and easy to navigate
Amazing - beyond any restroom stall I’ve ever been in. Kudos on the amenities - I’d never been in a stall that had it own sink - and the extra space was gratefully used to change, too. Thank you for your design sensibilities!
I always had good experience going through security. The level of friendliness that made going through security made the flights out of IND excellent. This is no longer the case. Some TSA personnel are outright rude.
Very busy today. All the staff I dealt with was very helpful. Very clean. The escalators were not working but elevators were fine.
Lovely airport filled with artwork, ample seating, and tons of natural light.
Nice airport. No issues. No waiting at TSA Pre-check. Happy that Rental Cars were close to the terminal. Hate having to ride a bus to get to them like at some other airports.
I have always had great experiences at Indianapolis international. Everyone this trip was friendly and the airport was clean.
I try to fly out of here when I'm going somewhere because of how easy it is to get around from getting there to getting back and going to baggage claim.
It's Indiana. Let's start there. The expectation of the airport I had wasn't much above a barn in the middle of a field with an old school coffee pot, and cows as TSA. To my delight, it is an incredibly clean, and modern airport. The bathrooms have motion sensor air fresheners in the stall. Most service items are actually have a motion sensor. It reminds me of the airport in Brisbane, Australia. The Indiana airport has a similar set up as it is streamlined in a way that's very straightforward. I'd still love to see cows in TSA uniforms,. Overall, one of the best airports I have been stuck at for a layover. P.S. pretty great USO on site as well.
Arriving on a Sunday afternoon the airport was alive with most all shops open. By 6pm on any given day, the streets are rolled up and you're lucky to find a snack or something to drink. I don't know how it gets such great ratings.
Amazing airport. Huge, clean, and uncrowded. Very well laid out & won't take asking directions to get around.
Andy was awesome. Hoops, i did not know Andy stood for Indiana until last Saturday at the airport. I love the time spent there. I will come back soon because I am in love.
Clean airport, with large open spaces and a good variety of restaurants. TSA could be a little more organize but aside from that great experience going through here. 🛫👍🏼 …
The bathrooms were very clean and well supplied. It’s wonderful to find a public restroom so we’ll maintained! Thank you so much.
Great airport layout. Super clean within flights to choose from. I love the different decor that they bring in for holidays, the Indy500, and other major events.
Good place to get tested very clean and staff are very friendly
Picking up a family member. Not too crowded this evening. Time saving tip- pick up your people at departures instead of arrivals. Almost always less crowded.
Clean and friendly staff. Did I need the 3 hours probably not but this is post covid travel. For once my flight was on time and well planned entry onto the plane.
Has planes, didn't die, 10/10. Still super easy to get around without problem, and always a portion that both security concourses connect to both areas, so no need to always rush B.
Always appreciate how easy IND is in/out and the excellent parking. The EV charging in the garage needs policed better (A PHEV was in a L3 charging spot, not plugged in, with a sign for 4+ days) but excellent upkeep otherwise.
Super nice airport - very clean with a decent selection of restaurants given its small size. Security was polite and efficient.
It was nice. Except make sure you know where you are parking . Or you will pay for some very expensive parking . I mean 6 days and I sent $120. For parking a mini van . And it was at my own expense of anything was to happen to it. So make sure you know the parking situation before you show up! Other than that very nice airport.
Very clean, well maintained, still looks new, very organized, easy access, well labeled. Great in and out. Nothing negative to say.
Such a nice airport, although its size is not like Chicago airport, but its operations is much more efficient. And it's decorations tells more stories about local history, people's memory, and precious moments.
Best airport I've ever been to. Tsa is fast. It's clean and has good food options.
Hands down the best airport to travel through. It's always clean, easy to navigate, and never long security lines.
This is a lovely little airport.
The folks are chill, and it has a relaxed vibe. Even security, which is never fun, isn't aggressive or more unpleasant than it needs to be.
I flew out of Indy to D.C. People were so kind and helpful. It was extremely clean and festive for the holidays. There were many great choices for snacks and shops while I waited for my plane. There were also cool exhibits. I can't wait to fly again soon.
Excellent airport, well laid out, easy in & out, big enough but not too big. I see why its consistently ranked the best airport in North America.
Big airport. Plenty of parking. Places to eat inside
I absolutely LOVE IND! It’s always great to fly in & out of in Indiana. Always clean, calm & well organized and overall by far my favorite airport.
Was easy to get from the shuttle drop point to the airlines. Leads you through a food court area.
On a 6:30am flight, we were through security and to the terminal in no time. Should have viewed all of the restaurants first....had an OK breakfast at Champps Americana but there is a Wolfgang Puck that was probably better at the other end of the terminal.
Free wifi and charging stations including some stationary bikes that I think you have to pedal to charge. Good for wearing out the kids or stretching your legs after sitting too long.
The decor is a bit mixed up here and there....the dot lights on the ceiling as you enter on the moving sidewalk all turned red and started beeping...scared the hell out of me as I thought it was a code red alert or something. Not sure it gives off an Indy theme.
Very easy to navigate, the terminals are not super huge compared to a lot of others so getting to your gate quickly is not too difficult.
Little nervous the staff is very helpful!
this is one of the most beautiful airports I've ever seen. I travel 25 weeks per year and the Indianapolis international airport it's so easy to move through. I would come here just to enjoy the food court in the relaxation area.
Very nice airport. There's a lot to do and the routes to the gates are very clear. Way better experience than Chicago O'Hare
Not bad besides if you ask aome workers to repeat themselves they get crabby. Sorry you have to repeat yourself wveryday multiple times a day, but I don't come here very often if at all. But thanks crabby lady
Clean but baggage claim was a hot mess. Dumped 3 flights into one carousel at the same time.
Racing cars and engines are placed at the airport! That makes traveler excited! And the souvenir shop located at public area sells many Indy500 race goods, you can buy good souvenir!
You can access to downtown by IndyGo public bus and express transportation bus service.
It was good, well maintained and has the Indy feeling with racing cars being placed here n there.. good options of food and shopping, however very limited stores..
Rental car return on premises is awesome. Nice open spaces. I like this airport. Good to know you can get to all gates from either TSA check point.
A fine airport. I have found memories of being a kid and my mom and I would go to the airport just to eat and shop and watch the planes take off and land. Ahhhhh…time before gadgets.
Very clean & well maintained airport. Always enjoy flying into Indy. Not always the best place for car rentals. Cheaper to rent outside the airport & not get hit with all the extra airport fees & taxes. First airport I have seen with a P.P.E. machine.
My home airport. It's not huge but it's very easily laid out. I hate that most of the food is in one area and it's before you go through security. Once you get to your gate, there's not much to choose from.
An amazing place to be here before the pandemic this place was very crowded it was amazing to watch the traffic. Now with the pandemic it has been empty but staying constant.
Security was quick, airport clean and well lit. Decent options for a meal while waiting.
Great small airport. Good eating options available as well as ample comfortable seating and courtesy charging ports.
There is a reason why it’s rated best airport in USA . Great concourses and good food and shopping options. Well maintained :)
Definitely remember to get there earlier than you used to, the personnel operates under stress and it shows. Also AA never checked our Covid tests, which may mean that some airlines claim safety protocols that they are not enforcing.
This is my favorite airport. I'm either leaving to go someplace fun or returning from a nice vacation or business trip. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. The staff is kind and helpful. There is a wide range of place to eat or get a snack.
Great experience here. Very friendly people at the stores who are very helpful and go out of their way to help out. Very thoughtful amenities throughout the airport like drinking fountains, air freshener in the bathrooms, multiple vending machines, and seats and tables with outlets. The two convenience stores we visited had extremely helpful people working there who were very friendly as well.
The lady at front desk of Southwest was so helpful. I miss my flight and she waived the fee for me to get on the next flight..
Everyone was so nice! Very friendly- a really good airport experience.
IND is a under rated small regional airport. The airport is easy to navigate. TSA pre-check takes 10 minutes at most. Uncovered Economy parking for $9 a day with frequent shuttle transportation to the terminal. Quick pick ups at arrivals without being hassled for waiting.
If you have Priority Pass you can go to Fan zone by Gate B17 and get $28 worth of food and drinks credited.
No issues. Tsa was a bit slow....but you will have that.
Typically if you arrive early the security lines go pretty fast. A lot of places to grab a bite. Took me a whole to find Hertz.
Very well managed, easy to navigate airport. Best in the country and North America.
Absolutely Amazing! There are plenty of places to plug in, comfortable seating, etc. They seem to keep up to date with various accommodations as compared to other airports I've had to travel through. They even have a small space for children to a play while waiting to board. The little things like that make the biggest difference!
This is one of the easiest airports to access. Always clean with fast security.
It is a great airport and people who work there excellent very nice and helpful.
Best airport I've ever seen. The Indy Airport has really efficient staff (they mean business) and the layout is so easy to navigate. Would fly through here again!
Great airport. Security is a breeze and plenty to do while waiting for a flight
Clean, Newly renovated, outlets everywhere, restrooms were clean and stocked. TSA took me 5 minutes to get through. The walk to the gate was easy. My only complaint is that the food and beverage outlets on terminal B were all closed and roped off FAR before 8pm. When the terminal is packed especially when there are delays the restaurants need to stay open.
I usually don't review airports but I have to give credit where credit is due. On of the most pleasant airports to travel to. It's clean with nice open spaces. Easy to navigate because of it's medium size. There are also a decent amount of amenities if you get to the airport super early. If you are TSA pre check you can get there an hour and a half before your flight.
The airport is lovely. Clean, well marked. But there needs to be stricter control of vehicles in the pick up area. Apparently some do not know how to use the cellphone lot. Many vehicles abandoned by drivers to actally go INSIDE to find travelers. Even double parked abandoned. The vehicle was left there for over 15 minutes. I was shocked. I waited at the curb with suitcases already picked up at baggage claim for my ride, only to be obscured by the congestion of traffic. My ride was delayed, i was able to observe for 45mins +. I did see a few travelers able to quickly be picked up by a freshing approaching vehicle but more than half the vehicles were squatting or abandoned.
Clean, easy to navagate around easy, manageable lines/lanes through TSA.
Indianapolis International Airport is small so you won't get lost it's pretty short walking to any of your flights. They have nice decorations including a race car and the ceiling has cool art. They have a decent food court. The drawback is there's nobody at a help desks when you have a question it's like nobody's working when I came during the middle of the day.
I travel fairly regularly. Some airports are have poor signage that makes navigation unnecessarily difficult. Indy Airport is incredibly simple but still aesthetically pleasing. Security check lines move fast almost all the time. One of my favorite airports.
One of the best airports in the country. Parking and rental cars through a walkway from the terminal.
One of the best airports. Clean and well laid out.
Nicely designed, lots of tech and charging stations. Very clean, easy in and out.
AA Check in was a little confusing as we had already checked in through the App but still had to go to the kiosk to print bag tags. BUT there was a nice gentleman showing people exactly where to go who got us right to an empty kiosk, and then a nice lady working for AA saw our difficulties with the kind of bag tags that printed and helped us figure out how to put them on etc. Overall it went smoothly and made for a great start for the day. Thank you all! Update picking up a friend on Delta from Florida escaping the Hurricane. Got in and out no problems.
Not too crowded. Line moved quickly. Friendly and helpful staff
I love this airport. It is so easy to get around and they have just enough offerings for food and shopping including some nice local places.
Arrived for a 10 pm Southwest departure and the airport had pretty much closed all place to eat in the gate area. There were still several hundred people catch flights. Poor management!
The place has an amazing ambience to it and the highlight is the Indy formula race car in the center of the airport.
Given that the terminal was the first designed and built after 9/11, it was designed to accomodate all the modern airport craziness. The best current airport as far as security checks. Accomodates uber as well as any airport I've been to. Has a nice food court in front of the security check points, so you can spend quality time with people accompanying you to the airport but not travelling with you. From there you can get through security and to your gate rapidly.
All the food options close relatively early, small airport but clean and efficient I suppose but eating out of a vending machine because NOTHING is open after 6; es no bueno especially when those machines are junk food, vegan options, and ice cream. In all the airline issues this summer, we got stuck here overnight after delays made us miss our flight out -- I'll say the gate agents (American Airlines specifically) we're very helpful more so than the airline support team themselves. There was a gate agent named Luisa who consistently worked miracles to try to get us out of that airport - rebooking us multiple times as flights were consistently being canceled, we kept being told we'd be stuck for two days but she was on the ball, got us out on a 5 AM standby which somehow the app agents didn't tell us was an option. She knew exactly how much we spent on the whole trip and she wanted to get us out badly (as it was a birthday vacation) so told us exactly how to check back in quickly with the morning gate agents, made us #2 and #3 on the Standby list and got us out of there - while we were being told 2 days, she worked with a calm demeanor and got us out 12 hours after we were initially told we were stranded.
Easy to navigate around. Not many food choices, but what is here is good.
Not too pricey.
Very few dining options once you pass security. All other airports I have been to have dining inside the secure area. Otherwise I found this to be an easy airport to navigate.
Nice airport. Good food choices outside of security but slim pickings once you're through. There is the cutesy charge your electronics while you pedal stations--great idea but if they were really serious, they would have more than a token few.
When your in state and go there to pick up it's really unclear where to go....need some signage lol but other then that this Airport is awesome!
As always a beautiful landing and taking off spot. I hear its one of the best airports in the US!! I love knowing that our airport is known nationwide.
Rivaled only by Fort Wayne's security line, but, then you'd be in Fort Wayne.
One of the best airports in the country, and always a pleasant experience.
There is a large gas station right on the way into the airport, great for those of us that often forget to refill the tanks on rental cars. The signs and directions are large and clear. I particularly like the open spaces around the airport.
The design of the airport itself is so simple, and so user friendly. A large open common area with everything visible around the perimeter. A large seating area with comfortable seats, great for naps. The viewing window is a perfect touch.
Always clean, tidy and a great experience overall!
This is a small airport but is always very clean and service is always friendly and helpful
Indianapolis International Airport is technically a misnomer, since there are no international flights from this airport. However FedEx ships out of this location and they DO fly internationally. If you don't know where you're going specifically, the approach is designed to add 5 miles every time you have to Circle back to the airport.
Easy to get around, good food options, and I love the taxi system!
Awesome. Very easy to get around. Great Uber pick up area
The airport is always clean and tidy with friendly staff.
Beautiful, clean, and very efficient airport. Large food court and plenty of space for waiting in.
Incredibly efficient and helpful. More personal service of a smaller airport (compared to Orlando).
I really enjoy working at the Airport. I work there part-time and I find it all do fascinating. I truly do.
Great airport with easy in and out. Shuttle to parking lots are reliable. Car rental pick up and return are easy too. Restaurants are slow at times and often have long lines. Overall no issues and recommend.
There is a reason this airport has won the award for best in North America 9 years in a row.
Airport is nice and clean and easy to navigate for checked bags.
Everything you hear about this airport is true! Super clean, well laid out, easy to get around inside, as well as getting to & from via the highway. All medium-sized cities should model their airports around IND.
Clean,easy to navigate, no
Long trams to deal with. Some food restaurants if you need . Some of food available os before security which makes it nice for those waiting for your flight to arrive.
Very clean, everything was clearly marked and the mini art show was nice
TSA was actually pleasant, all airport staff was nice as usual and loading was fast on Allegiant
One of the easiest and most convenient airports. Rental car facility is great and absence of any airport traffic makes it very simple to get out.
This is a nice small airport, easy to walk and navigate. I use Uber to get in and out of here. Very convenient.
The Indy airport is such an easy-to-navigate space. It’s well-designed with plenty of space and lots of eating and shopping options. It’s convenient for dropping off and picking up passengers. The TSA staff have always been efficient and nice to deal with. No wonder it wins so many awards. Top notch!
Great staff, efficient, and the process for getting checked in is simple. They definitely live up to the "Best Airport in North America."
Airport is dated but services were fine. Nothing to write home about (but I’m writing here lol).
Small quick, efficient and everyone is nice
It is a tidy and simple airport. The services are quite easy, close by parking with a decent price, nice cars. I like it overall
Beautiful airport. Very bright and airy.
Lovely airport with very friendly staff. HUGE difference than the rude staff all over Hartsfield-Jackson In Atlanta. This is my first time visiting Indianapolis and the people here are so friendly. This airport has nice restaurants, restrooms are clean and the airport is very modern. It was my pleasure visiting this city.
Very thorough when checking us and our luggage, dog sniffing included. Be prepared to do alot of walking in the airport. The plane was extremely uncomfortable with three people on each side of the aisle sitting very close together in a hard seat. Even if your bag can fit in the overhead compartment, they will charge you $50 per. Anything else must fit in front of your feet. They also charge $5 to print your ticket. I loved the trip but not the airport and plane experience.
Indy has the best airport. quick security, nice amenities and parking shuttle service.
Not very crowded today. Quick and easy TSA process. Flight was on time.
The airport was great, I️t had cool lights that lit up as you walked underneath them, and the environment was clean. Our only problem was that the people from united airlines treated us like garbage. I️ actually asked them to please be careful with my bag because it had valuable electronics in it, they told me I️ should have taken them out and then THREW my bag onto the line moving all of the bags. I’ll never use united again. Oh and the ladies name that did this is Terri F, from customer service.
We departed from the Indianapolis airport right after Thanksgiving to go to LA. It was decorated for Christmas and was very pretty. The staff were efficient and got our large group of adults and high school students through check-in and TSA quickly and without issues. My son and I found a shop with really good yogurt parfaits. I wasn't thrilled about paying $5.99 a piece for them, but the yogurt was really good and the fruit was extremely fresh! (I was super excited about having them since our first trip didn't yield any snacks on the plane since the pilot decided to fly quickly to Chicago and the flight attendants had to end service prematurely!) When we returned from LA it did take a extra long time to get our luggage from the plane after it landed in the middle of the night, but I'm not mad, I wasn't moving that quickly either! I've never had bad service at Indpls Airport before!
Beautiful experience, the people working here are so nice and kind
Just the right size for the area. This place is much nicer than the old airport.
Convenient, incredibly efficient, well-designed, clean, friendly airport. global entry enrollment on arrival was brisk, and the officers were extremely helpful in expertly and efficiently taking care of this. I've never been to an airport that runs more smoothly
Indianapolis airport is one the nicest in the US. There are just a few issues though.
There is little or no traffic control at the terminal. Picking someone up can be a mess. Many people just park their car in the middle of the street and wait for their passenger to come out for 10 or 15 minutes creating a traffic jam. They could simply wait in the cell phone until the person was ready but they don't. It might be nice if the airport were to monitor it at least to some degree.
The other issue is that since covid, many of the stores particularly after security have left. I imagine they will return soon
Easy to pick up arrivals. Rental car area in terminal.
By far the nicest airport I have ever been to. Very clean and well run. I am also very thankful for the lady that works in budget parking lot that helped us find our vehicle. I am glad we chose Indy!
IND is a quality mid-sized international airport. It's generally clean, parking is reasonably priced, lots of natural lighting and open layout, decent dining options (nothing extravagant, but quality), and simple terminal layout which makes it really easy to find what you need. My wife and I like flying in and out of IND.
My favorite airport! Clean, friendly and efficient!
Busy place...could run smoother, but plane arrivals can be unpredictable ...so it was as great as it could be!
IND is one of my most favorite airports - so quick & easy to get through security.
Easy tonavigateairport. Fairly short security lines with effective employees.
Really nice, well appointed airport with good eats and the typical shopping.
I love these small international airports! They are easy to navigate, and seem much more cleaner! Indy is very a very beautiful and up to date airport with plenty of food/drinks shops in it! They also have fairly nice people working, and were fairly helpful. I truly enjoy flying out of here!
Our flight was weather delayed. Nothing was open when we arrive. Otherwise it would have 5 stars.
The staff was nice all around, it was clean, loved the art, decent fast food selection, no problems checking in or out
My niece checking in for departure to the Army 🥰🤘✨️🫠😭 …
Very nice airport. Very easy to find things. Very pet friendly airport. Love what they did to this airport. It has been the easiest airport I have ever been to.
Always clean and I rarely have an extended wait to get through security.
I'm. Allen. Gray jr cousin of actor Don Cheadle. And husband. Of Mrs Andy Niemann. I love the indianapolis sirport
Very well designed get in get out. But it's also a pleasure ro wait in.
TSA here is not the fastest but they do open more lanes when they can, which helps a lot.
Signage is brightly colored and mostly easy to follow. Beware the elevator signs that look like "family restroom" signs.
Some "full service" food vendors are only that, and are not quite restaurants (i.e., cold sandwiches and no menu)
Excellent airport. Very accessible for people with disabilities and customer service is super helpful. I was very nervous traveling across the country for the first time by myself, but employees made it easy to prepare for my flight and find where I needed to go. Very clean inside and organized.
Very nice clean airport. The Indy cars on display are great to see up close. Very well designed it’s one of the better airports I have ever been to. My only knock on this airport is the TSA agents are extremely rude even by TSA agent standards. Quite possibly some of the worst I have experienced.
It’s the best airport I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. From the bing bong LED lighting, to the beautiful atrium, to the fast TSA checkpoints, to the moving walkways coming to an end (please watch your step), it’s simply the best airport experience.
I will NEVER EVER fly into Chicago OHare EVER again. That place is a third world shantytown airport compared to Indy.
Do yourself a favor and use this airport for your next trip.
Always awesome using this airport. Clean everything is pretty fast. Word of advice if you travel get TSA precheck. Best thing I ever did. You cut the regular line and get through the line even quicker.
It's a very Easy Airport to get through for the most part. For me there was not alot of confusion to get to where you need to go. Also with my experience there is everything you need from variety of food to chose from in the food court and in each terminal to supplies and all the way down to plenty of usb and charging ports for phones and laptops. Very clean and artistist architectural building structure to a few other things to see and read about.
Easy access to the terminal from the highway. Spacious terminal and a bright, friendly environment.
I love our Indianapolis airport! I’ve traveled with my family and by myself both on international and domestic flights. This airport and the parking is easy to navigate. I really like the Delta Airline curbside check in. There’s a good variety of food in the general area. Always pretty with decorations.
Clean, always short lines. No flight anxiety flying through here ever.
Hands down a top 10 airport in the US. Easy to park, easy to check in, fast security lines (especially TSA approved!). Not a ton of places to eat or shop, but who cares when you have minimal lines for anything!
First time in an airport or a plane in 30 years and talk about smooth sailing! Love Delta!
Nice airport open and spacious with excellent signage to help travelers along the way. Very open and bathrooms are clean and well maintained. I especially like that they make it easy wash and keep sanitized. Easy to find ground transportation as well. Plenty of places to eat & drink while waiting for your next flight.
One of the nicest check ins and flow and olac s to chill...great service....wish I could fly here more often. Everything is easy and close and we'll designed..
Always super easy to get through the Airport. May not be the biggest, but it's one of the best airports. So much easier than most to find where you need to go.
Sun King in B Concourse area was a very nice/relaxing cold brew experience!!!
Extremely easy to navigate airport. Economy parking is cheap and they offer a shuttle service with it that runs every 5 minutes, so its nearly as fast as just parking in the garage, and i’ve never had trouble finding a space. The airport has many restaurants that are not that expensive as far as airport restaurants go. TSA check is in also very fast. I don’t have much experience during the morning rush but anytime after 11am and you won’t wait on the tsa line for more than 5 minutes.
Great airport, very clean, TSA personnel were super!
In and out easy. Great people working wheelchair transports. Southwest Airlines great as ever. Quickest baggage return ever.
Usually a breeze - convenient parking, quick access and few hassles.
This is a nice airport. It isn't ridiculously huge so you can get around easily. The space is very open and bright. It's an easy exit off the interstate.
I have used many airports around the world. TSA in this airport is the most friendly and efficient.
Really clean and organized airport! always a good place to have a drink before going on a trip. They have wifi available, family bathrooms, restaurants, etc...
However they should be like Atlanta Airport in passenger area and have obvious blocked seats. While at the gate people were really not mindful of impeding on others personal space.
Easy to get around and surprisingly home like feel. In the 45 minutes I was waiting, they announced over the loudspeaker 3 times of specific people who had left items at specific locations. I've heard this before. Either the people at this airport are very forgetful or they just go above n beyond to reunite people with their lost items.
Great internal wayfinding signage! Found my way easily from the gate to baggage claim and then to the rental car area. Hopefully my experience heading home in a few days will be equally as smooth!
IND is doing a great job working with this new normal. They were a tremendous help to me in assisting with retrieving my car which had been in the parking lot for three months due to Covid-19 and my shelter orders in California. Sad to see the lot so empty great to experience the staff service levels though. Thank you.
Still one of my favorite airports after having added several more to my list. I've been frequenting airports about 4 flights per month and this is by far the best one. Flights are on time, plenty of space and seating, security lines move swiftly and everyone is kind. Communications are clear and audible at gates. This is one of the few airports I see people (travelers) wearing masks appropriately (i.e. not under their chins or noses)
Great airport. Nice facilities.
Clean, colorful and well maintained.
Indpls airport is one of the best airport in the country and appreciate how well they manage and care for the facility. Awesome job Airport Authority!!
Pretty darn quick security check, though granted it was the middle of the week and no holidays.
I like the museum theme they have there it was very appealing
For an airport, IND has always been great.
Nice airport 🛫 …
Indianapolis international airport is fine. American airlines on the other hand has issues. There are weather other uncontrollable factors that affect travel. On the other hand personnel is a controllable Factor by the airline. Failure to have personnel to bring the plane to the jetway and deliver luggage on a timely fashion is a controllable problem. Airline should compensate passengers when delays are the responsibility of the airline.
My trip was very well organized. And when i needed help finding something their were people that were very helpful and helped me find my way
Excellent! Polite and helpful employees. Clean terminals and facilities.
Tasty food options and bars everywhere. Not as large as some, TSA were quick and pleasant.
World-class airport and the finest in the Midwest without a doubt. Gorgeous architecture and natural lighting. Simple design — you’d never get lost. Definitely a great airport to fly out of.
Absolutely beautiful airport! I am very impressed with this airport's management. The different safety protocol's they have implemented without increasing passengers wait times is beyond impressive. The employees and security are friendly and are always willing to help you find your gate or guide you in your destination. Very happy to travel through this airport.
One of the best airports I have ever gone through. Everyone that works here is so nice and kind. Most other airports have very rude people working, but the people here are nice and efficient. Hoosier hospitality at its finest.
Nice airport and great food selections.
They did forget the I in the main entrance though
In and out several times. Great, spacious, clean modern Airport. And has room to grow still keeping the original ambience intended. Have been in a lot of the US and Canadian larger airports, the absolute worst being LaGuardia.
Always a stress reliever coming to Indianapolis International Airport for both me and what ever lucky soul coming to pick me up. All hours of the day and night!
There's more than just corn in Indiana. Great place to live and raise a family.
The "pat down," really rub down was done more gentler than the Houston airport. The people were friendlier. And Wolfgang Puck's burgers are good.
It's a fully functional airport that is easy to maneuver in & sate yourself. I worked in it with TSA when 1st opened. It has remained user friendly throughout.
What a well organized airport. TSA Pre check made getting through security quick and easy. Lots of shops and plenty of places to get a quick cup of Joe. Clean and always friendly staff.
One of the best airports I've ever been in.
Security and overall check in was easy and fast.
However, baggage claim on the way out took over 25 minutes. They gotta find a way to improve that timeline, this airport isn’t that large.
One of the cleanest airports in the world! Thank you Indianapolis for showing up and showing out!
The security takes a while, not a ton to do, food is pricey, but it is a vvveeerryy clean airport, the people working there are great, good experience for me
As far as airports go this place has it together. Easy on and off loading for passengers entering and leaving the airport. The staff here are super friendly and helpful and the inside is even easy to navigate. The restaurants and shops are very well stocked and not a bad price for an airport at all! If you're flying into Indiana this is the place to go.
It’s certainly not as well maintained as I remember. Maybe they’re short staffed, but the floor needed a good mopping.
The main bathrooms before reaching security were also dirty. Not a good first impression. The stall locks were loose, or didn’t lock at all. The hooks on the stall doors were also missing, or seemed like they were about to fall off.
The above really makes me question their Covid cleaning that they claim to follow.
Still easy to get around though, and the bus drivers are very nice.
Quick security, very clean and nice facilities. Comfortable seating while waiting to board.
Need a wheelchair to and from the gates. There's one waiting for me each time I leave and one waiting for me when I get off the plane. Nicest and most helpful people to assist me. I don't worry about flying at all.
The architecture was attractive, there were plenty of art installations, the parking was super close to the terminal, and baggage claim was very accessible and easy to understand. Not to mention how clean it was when I visited. I have no complaints. I will update this if anything changes when I fly back to NC in a few days.
This is a very nice airport located in the center of the state offering reasonable ticketed prices to many destinations. The staff are friendly and will offer assistance with directions. Security was fast and easy and many restaurants available after that.
Easy airport to get around. Seems efficient.
Built for post 9/11 it's smallish and welcoming. Parking services are excellent.
Awesome airport. Very easy to navigate.
Easy accessible airport , net and clean every where .
One of the best airports you can travel through.
I like Indy airport. It is easy to get around because isn't really big. You can find different restaurant by the gates and before security (There is food court/store before security). I think IND airport was well designed, it has many unique features that includes the would famous INDY 500 race.
It is kind of hard to maneuver. Salt Lake City International Airport is bigger and much harder to get around.
One of the greatest airports in the country. Vibrant, lively, energetic, and clean! What a great way to welcome all travelers to the area...and even better way to send them off and welcome them home.
The best asset is the efficiency...so quick to get done and get on the go!!!
Easy access. Clean. Safe. Best airport in the country. Even has high end steak house Harry and Izzys in the terminal if you have time for some fine dining on your layover.
It toke a ful hour to get off the ground in a very hot air plane
I thought I was going to pass out !
One of the best airports in the U.S., in my humble opinion. Clean, plenty of amenities, well organized and flights are usually on time. I wish more of our airports were like Indianapolis International.
Great airport. Good signage and super clean.
Efficient, wide entryways. Clean surfaces. TSA was quick and friendly.
So pretty inside. Wish there was more food options for quick bite to eat.
Indianapolis International Airport is nice and clean. There are enough popular shops and food stops to keep you busy in-between flights. It's not overly crowded even on busy travel days, although it can accommodate a high volume crowd.
The mothers nursing rooms here are so amazing, I couldn’t ask for more from an airport.
Security is always a breeze and the employees are always super helpful and kind - I’ve only flown southwest and American from this airport but every person has been excellent. Restaurant staff, gate employees, security.. everyone gets 10/10.
Easy to navigate through this airport without getting lost or having to walk what feels like forever.
Easy in, easy out. Economy lot shuttle runs like a top so I park there every time. I love the Security Checkpoint time on the home page.
Traffic from Carmel area to the airport and back was nightmarish, got cut off twice from being able to get lanes needed and had to backtrack. Garmin wasn't able to react quickly enough, missed two changeovers and backtracking again. It's now 12:36 a.m., I'm adrenaline jacked from the drive from Cicero to the airport and back, working on large Irish Cream and bourbon to be able to sleep tonight.
Home for the Thanksgiving holiday. Arrived at 12:30 in the morning so the airport was almost empty which was nice. The airport was easy to get around. Nice to see a Speedway car there showcasing our racing heritage. And I was pleasantly surprised to see The Ball State University being displayed.
Amazing airport. Security goes fast. It’s clean. Good food options before and after security. Convenient to downtown Indy. The rental car/ride share set up is really set up well. Everything you want in an airport. I really enjoy traveling in and out of this airport.
Bathrooms at the baggage claim were super clean and automatic everything. Was nice. Perfect amount of paper towel, sinks and soaps all worked perfect. There's even automatic air freshener in the stall when you finish. 😊😊😊 (This is women's bathroom) …
Everything went smoothly. The airport is in good condition, and is fairly comfortable while waiting for your flight.
The best airport I’ve ever been to. It’s award-winning status for airport is well deserved!
Nice terminal. Shops close too early, and bathrooms aren't as nice as the rest of the terminal would suggest. Better than most mid sized airports.
Clean.Mostly everyone wore a mask.We did have to wait for over a hour to receive our luggage because they said that their were thunderstorms nearby, although the sun was out and there was no raining.
Small airport with little going on.. not many food places are/were open last visit.
The places that were open had very slow service, mainly due to a lack of workforce, it seems.
The layout of the airport is easy to navigate and get through.
Security was fairly streamlined and quick to get through.
Best flight ever first class was so nice
Very clean and very good employees. No problems with our travel.
If you ever think, "the government should..." go through TSA. It's obvious, "the government " doesn't know what the hell its doing.
Generally pretty quick security lines. Decent food & beverage options as well
Besides the fact that this is a beautiful airport, it is also the easiest to navigate. Getting from the terminal to baggage claim was quick and easy, getting from the baggage claim to the passenger pick up was painless. The same goes for getting from check-in through TSA to the gate: quick and easy. And everyone was pleasant! This is by far my favorite airport. 10/10 would recommend.
Like the multiple restaurants options provided. However, they must increase the numbers of TSA agents to help speed up the unnecessary long lines caused by minimal staffing. Airport is clean which is a plus. Airlines don't seems to have any care in the world on departing on-time anymore. Constantly boarding and deboarding for mechanical issues. SERVICE THE PLANS PLEASE AA.
Tami C. with American Airlines had the best customer service and so sweet about it.
Great airport. I just wish Delta had more direct flights from here.
Always a nice and efficient facility. The people are very helpful and friendly. The only negative thing I saw was about 5 guests not wearing masks and Noone seemed interested in correcting it. Still 99% of the people seemed to be following the rules. It just made those 4-5 people stick out even more.
It's an attractive airport and really not too different from other airports. What is different is the lack of dining options. On my concourse there was only one restaurant (a sit-down restaurant and bar)! When I went out to the central area that had more fast food type restaurants, I had to go back through security to get to my concourse! What a pain! Bring food with you, if you need food!
Modern clean design but food is extra expensive inside so eat before you go...
I love the flow of our airport. From the approach to the departures and arrival area, the carousel for baggage pick-up. Even curb side drop off and pick up is easy to maneuver. The planning and execution of design was worth the wait in my opinion. This project was started when I was a freshman in high school and not completed until I believe 2010! It seemed like a lifetime before I ever got to see it.
This is a great airport. I haven’t found one better. It’s about the people. The rest just falls in line.
Quick and clean airport. Never spend a ton of time is the tsa check despite the length of the line. Pretty small airport so fairly easy to navigate.
