Reviews of Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center
Rina
It was great! Loved everything especially for the kiddos, with wristbands my 11 and 4 yr old got on everything at least twice and they had a blast! I even got on a ride with my 2 yr old. So much to do and see and eat. It was a blast. We will definitely be going again.
Adam Westfall
The Indy Home Show never disappoints! The vendors are awesome, we went 3 different days. It's great when you go to home show and buy more food than things for your home lol The staff did a great job of getting people in and out and directing traffic. Thank you for putting on such a great Home Show as usual!
Trent Freed
Went there for Mecums's Auto Show, to see at least 3000 beautiful vehicles on display. Most classic, muscle, collector vehicles I've ever seen in my life.
Loved the Dodge Thrill Ride in a Challenger. Neat experience!
D.W. Everett
Once again the home show did not dissapoint! The centerpiece home by Fischer homes is absolutely beautiful. I would suggest taking the whole day to enjoy everything on site. Great tips on remodeling and landscaping.
Kassie B.Davis
The photos are from a special event, The Bubble Run 5k. The fairgrounds hosts many events throughout the year. Most notable is the State Fair. They have a horse race track, the hold concerts, hobby shows and much more. Parking is not free, but they take cash or card and entry is different depending on the event.
Michelle Sweeny
my kids love the state fair! I enjoyed the chickens of all breeds and sizes, the art barn, and the clown Band. three year old loved the elephant ride. teenagers enjoyed the car building and the Midway.
kyle carr
Indy gun show. Depending upon the exposition hall it's in parking is hard to navigate. The last time we went there was someone who managed to negligently discharge their firearm the day prior. Maybe it being the September show I could definitely say it was smaller than prior 2020. I've previously been and purchased several firearms for good prices and for the most part things this time were higher than several of the local shops I've been too lately. Nothing really caught my attention minus these barrels.
Lori Thornell
Great band!! With a wonderful time with my hubby watching the bamd play.
The facility was clea, bathrooms, etc.
Our seats were close to the stage, handicap area, the staff was quick to accommodate
Jillian Schmidt
We sw the rodeo during ffa national convention and had a great time. The food was very expensive but decent. It was 12 for a chicken strips and fries and 4 for a 16oz soda. It was a really cool show though.
Whitney Smith
I went with a friend and had such a good time. We got a lot of decorating and organizing ideas, wish they had more interior decorating stuff but really fun.
Chris Lee
This is a great campus located near down town Indianapolis. It is host to not only the Indiana State Fair but many other events throughout the year. There is ample parking for large events with easy access in multiple locations. Every building is very well maintained regardless of the age of the structure. It is kept very clean.
Kelly Benham
It was like an extremely slow parking lot party. There were not a lot of vendors there to buy merchandise! Trucks of all kinds and all years from the most factory style to built ones-all in one place! It was a sight seeing spectacular to any truck enthusiast! Had a dyno there and my sons truck put out 593 hp...not too bad!
Mark Barnes
We had a great time looking at the Christmas lights at the fair. They are by far the best value in town for lights. It will take you a good 30 minutes to go through. You will have a wait so just be ready for that.
Tonie James
Went to the Indiana Flower and Patio Show. Getting inspiration for my patio and flowerbeds this spring! Lots of great ideas!
Jayla Spearman
I went to the Indiana State Fair three days ago and had an amazing time! They had so much delicious food there! They had rides, games, and lots of other fun activities you could do as well. They even had a free concert every day! I can't wait to go back next year!
Archaeo Native66
Wow, even though I'm a veteran and I received extra privileges for being one at this event, I still think they really did a super job with the Indy oddities expo last Saturday. I had a great time and glad I had on my veteran hat! The venders were great, the place was clean, people were friendly. Lots of interesting items for sale too. I thought some of the artists were incredibly good. Easy parking, low admission price, food prices were ok. I kinda wondered about a few animal items though; like the tortoises, shells and hippo foot. I guess it was ok to sell those in Indiana. Great expo and I bought a few cool items too! Plan to attend next year! Thanks.
Edgardo M. Vasquez, Jr (Eddie, Chaos)
I had a wonderful time for my 1st time ever going to a state fair! Thank you!
Anne - Presidential RE
Popular rides had extremely long lines - 1.5 to 2.0 hour wait times. Small kids rides were 10 minutes or less wait times. Food was good. Selections like Corn on the Cob, hot Corn Dogs on a stick, Funnel Cakes with Strawberries and Elephant Ears with Cinnamon Sugar. Nice crowd, but I've seen it busier in years past ..Overall nice outing!
Tony
Visited Christmas Night of Lights. There was no line (we reserved time slot online) so we got to drive right in. Lots of lights and we'll synced with the music. Family enjoyed it
Brittany Stiles
There isn't much for children under 3 that can't ride the rides yet, the momma town exhibit in expo hall was great, but family fun park wasn't even worth the walk. The bubble exhibit barely spits out bubbles, they need to add more water to their bubble mixture and it would be better!
Angela King
My experience with State Fair Grounds Events was enjoyable for two scheduled events Winter Club Skating Recital/Family Fun Skate, 1st time I tried ice skating not as easy as it looks π³. Titan Lights Show I liked lights display, but I think music could have been more diverse for a multi-cultural experience for all American theme. Hot chocolate for the ride could be a plus.
Angela King
Daniel Cooley
Have been here the last 2 years for the mecum auction with my dad. Everything is well laid out.
Jerry Leonard
Fantastic visit. Glad they hosted FFA National Convention events here. It is a perfect place for it.
Dave
Included concerts, a decent midway, the animals you expect and some good food choices add up to a quality experience at this historic fairgrounds, certainly worth the stop during its annual run.
Jessica
We go to the fair every year. It used to be $2 Tue. but now itβs $3 Thurs. They used to have parking in the back of the fair that was labeled as Indiana State Fair Free Parking. Now that area sits empty and roped off. After they took that away we started parking on the side of the street but this year they blocked off one side of the road. You can still find free parking in the side of the road if you donβt mind going in the back entrance. Prices are going up everywhere. Thatβs just the way the funnel cake crumbles. Itβs a great time every year so we will still go.
Logan Jones
Awesome facility, and the fair was tons of fun. Great food, exhibits, and shopping. Fun place to hang or bring the family.
Bo Medsker
Lots of different foods to be had at the fair this year, I recommend having the brisket sandwich, it was delicious, plenty of other foods for whatever your wants are. Lots of rides too, but fish are not out at the DNR building until August 11th so if your there for that you'll have to wait.
John jay
1st time going had great fun my son had a blast
Douglas McLean
Attended the All In music festival. Pretty well organized. Great acts. Announcements would have made communication of changes of acts on stages and rain delay updates would have been helpful. Fairgrounds facilities were very clean and in great working order.
Stacy Mariner
Went to the All in music festival. It was so much fun. Great bands nice atmosphere. Two stages outside one stage in the coliseum. Such a fun time and I'm so glad they're going to repeat it next year
seanseanseanseansean
We enjoy dog showing at the fairgrounds a couple times per year. This is Whippet Sonic at the AKC Winter show.
Michael Twyford
Always a great time at the fairgrounds! The tasting room was very nice and a great variety! Nice job!
steven bosley
Grounds look the same as when I was in 4h forty years ago, the buildings were old then. That being said, they are maintained and have a welcoming feel that reminds me of simple times.
The worst part is that the area around the fairgrounds is about as bad as indy gets. Be very aware of parking lots at night. I recommend leaving at night via fall creek drive towards downtown. East of fairgrounds towards Keystone is down right dangerous. Know where your going, fill up tank so you don't have to stop.
Melissa Kellems
Was there for the Indy Home Show. It's not as big as in the past. I miss the big centerpiece home. There is lots of construction going on at the Fairgrounds. I hope it is done soon and results as good as the Pepsi coliseum.
David Eades
Event was clear as to admission price. Specifically went on a day with 2 for 1 admission to save. Parking listed as available at current fairground rates, ended up costing as much to park as to get in. If I had known it wad 10.00 to park I probably would not have gone.
Nadine Fletcher
π Loved the lights. Outstanding! We took 8 ladies from the home & they were So Happy! We went back the next night with 8 more ladies & they π Loved it even more. Thankyou β¦
Whit Ford
Went to the annual garage sale and it was awesome. I found a lot of stuff at unbeatable prices. So when you see it advertised next year don't miss it.
Vickie Bevington
Mecum auto auction going on. Some beautiful cars there. This was my first time going. Maybe next time I'll take some money?
Tami Berg
Setting up for the Christmas Craft and hobby show..starts Wednesday 11/9/2022
Lots and lots of great things to see and photo booths.. and the decorations on all the Christmas trees...BEAUTIFUL
JOSH FALCON
Wonderful environment. Incredible force empowering the indianapolis economy through events
Deluxe Ducks
Went to the Fuel game here, it was a good environment and lots of fun.
Brenda Lopez Rodriguez
Went as a work event, but loved checking out the tractors and animals. So much food to choose from, really good
gadean
We love coming here. The atmosphere is fantastic. Their concessions are super expensive so don't come hungry or thirsty unless you hate money.
Ry
This is with all likelihood one of my favorite places to go to events and I have never been disappointed with the ease and efficiency of attending things. We went to the home and garden show this weekend and it was a great opportunity to see all of the ideas for our new home. Looking forward to another year of great events at this location.
jerry warren
Went and saw the lights at downtown Indianapolis State fairgrounds line was decently long and seemed to move pretty fast hardly any wait time was a bunch of cars and the lights were very nice I like the holiday cheer in the atmosphere great place
Philip Haurez
Great place for different events and activities. It's always fun seeing what new things we can do here.
Carlos Araujo
Love the Flower n Patio Show. Bought some jewelry cleaner too. Got my steps in too.
Karl Schulman
Was here for the Autorama in March. The facility is very bright and clean. Some nice cars like this one from Garret's Rod Shop.
Parking is a miss due to some construction, but I'm sure that will be better once the renewal is complete.
Ken Reetz
Went to the 2023 Indianapolis Woodworking Show. Clean, safe, and friendly staff at the venue. Snow was cleared and the lot was not ice over.
Naveen Devaraj
We had been here for the Christmas lightings. It was one of the best experience you can get. We just loved it. Dancing lights for the radio music. It took about 30 mins to complete the entire circuit. Value for money ($30/car). It should be about 1.5 to 1.75 miles.
Robert Chase
Attended World of Wheels car show there. Show was great, friendly people and atmosphere. Concession food was very poor and grossly overpriced
Sarah Jones
We took a mini bus to see the Christmas lights and it was fantastic! I think they should have a longer "show" so you don't hear repeat songs, but it was still amazing! The variety of lights and colors was beautiful. It really got you in the Christmas spirit! Unfortunately my phone had died so I couldn't take pictures, but it let me focus more on the fun that was in front of me.
Vinoth Pattaiyan
This is first time we visited state fair.
The place is large and you need to plan your visit. If you like experience all the different rides and games , you would need a day. We had fun enjoying some of the rides and games since we went in the evening it took until midnight to leave. There is giant wheel and observation wheels and few other rides and games
The one thing i felt could have been better is directions/signs from the parking area to entrance.
Lisa Brown
We have been going to the state fair every since we were little because my grandpa judged sheep shearing there. Been a family tradition. Love going. Just a few of the things to see there.
Jorg Sacul
Indiana State Fair, the greatest state fair in the state! We had a great time on both visits this year. Hot weather, of course, but ample places to cool off. Very pleased with all the amenities, food, and cleanliness. Dinosaur was a surprise!
Jason Passmore
Great time on the first day of the home show. Picture of bath in the show house.
Holly Garrett
The Great Indiana State Fair is always a treat to attend if you have the chance. The food alone is an adventure - but my favorite things also include the exhibits and craftspeople, the animals, and the music.
Angie Sosnicki
We took our daughters and granddaughter. It was beautiful. Snow would have made it even better.. ββββββββββ
Rick Fowler
The State Fair is always a great family experience! So many things to enjoy on a daily basis.
Thomas Turner
Great time for the family if you get to check out the Nights of lights, we really enjoyed the lights being in sync with the music. The great downfall was the long near 4 hour wait.
Nikki Collins
It was a hot one this year, but the kids had fun. It's nice that the Fair tractor was free this year.
lorraine mccurry
My granddaughter Atyia graduation it was nice. Plenty of space for the large class! ππβΊοΈ β¦
Jeannine Winters
Y'all need to visit the glass barn. It's got a fake combine for the kids to drive, get your picture taken in the photo booth, and answer questions to earn a cool hat. They have Talk to a Farmer three times a day during the fair. Pioneer Village is real close to it. It's always fun at the Indiana State Fair.
Amanda Comage-Trower
Had a great time at the Home show. Was the best we've been to.
Bruce Venable
We have been to several state fairs and the Indiana State Fair is by far one of the best. They are always improving the grounds and buildings and they keep the grounds really clean. It can be a bit pricey, but it can be good family oriented entertainment. It's disappointing that they have expanded alcohol sales as I think this needs to stay more family oriented.
Korina Anne Apa
The food was great! There are free games at bars. Avoid the hat/ cowboy stand past the bridge. He grabbed the hat out of my hand and mentioned that it was $150 bucks. I guess your supposed to look a certain way when buying hats.
Larry Bronson
I thought the lay out of the Mecum auto auction was done very well. The State Fair staff were very friendly as well.
Erin Richardson
Lego Brickworld 2021. Very clean, family friendly, easy in and out, police on site, plenty of friendly staff on site for any questions.
greg brooks
2022 Mecum auction was great. Enjoy all the super nice cars and trucks.
Rohit Akhauri
Itβs so much fun. Sky way is awesome. Plenty of parking available. There are some great rides. Food is amazing. Exhibition of art handcrafts are great addition.
Zachary Thompson
Worked with Mattress Firm to get my massage chair. Jack was amazing, now we have a new message chair. Go see him!
Korlu Jessica Ziama Moore
It was a great experience. My first time. We had a wonderful time and my son enjoyed the rides.
Cale Cummins
Always a good time! Prices were higher this year, but we always love the rides, the food, and the shows! Best food is the "sati-babis" and the corn! Also love the beer garden, and animals and parades.
Sandra wilson
Funnel cake fun
Ribeye rhapsody
Roasted corn π½ cornucopia
Pork chop chillin
Sweet tea tantalizing
GOOD TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Larke Wings
Cool place to walk around but it's only worth it if you get discount tickets. The kids rides are cool. The games are expensive and not worth it. And the food is average at best.
Sassy Warren
Had the time of my life at the State Fair with my daughters. We ate, rode rides, ate, played games, ate some more, shopped, did I say ate some more and drank Lemon Shake-ups. LOL!!!!! One of the best places to visit in Indy during the month of August
Christina Enochs
Not crowded. Well ventilated and spaced out. Great food and kiddo loved the rides.
Chris Coates
I had a wonderful time at the state fair it was really a blast. Things geta bit pricey but good time overall. Parking was also chaotic but once you found a spot and walked the journey to the fairgrounds then the good times begin. Just make sure you bring plenty money.
Don Cranfill
A great venue for the state fair but love the fact that it has been host to the largest and oldest outdoor show in the country for decades. Donβt miss the Renfro Productions Indianapolis Boat Sport And Travel Show every winter!
Ryan Copley
Fair was fun, but itβs been a fun venue for music Festival (AllIn) as well!
Diane Kahler
This was an experience for me n my family. My 10 year old got me on the ferris wheel and I was scared but at the end I was disappointed of how short the ride was. I do feel that for the money we had to spend to get in, that the rides time should have been shorter. 16$ to get into the fair ground and 25$ for the bracelets for the rides
Zack
Had a great time with the family. Food is always delicious. Prices are getting out of hand though. $13 for a ribye sandwich thats as thin as a McDonald's cheeseburger is ridiculous.
Stephen Rodrick
First time going to State Fair it was amazing and huge. If you want to see everything, you better get a room and stay over night.π β¦
Albert Stith
I was here for my first time to attend a car show. There was plenty of parking, helpful staff, nice facilities, and better than average concessions. I had a very positive experience.
Tonya Buford
Went to see the Christmas lights with my family came from NC. It was great times in the car LoL ππ β¦
Elizabeth Gestner
Events at the State Fairgrounds always seem to be well-organized and fun. We enjoy going to the location for events all year round!
Margaret Broyer
The volunteers at the art building are amazing. The onion ring food truck guy was so very nice and brought our food to our table. The man at the first aid station helped me get parked. People helped us up steps with hubby's walker. Good day!
Melinda Phillabaum
Went to a bridal event, $10 is too much for parking there. This is enough to make me not attend. They also did not use the building wisely, only used half and it was so crowded!
Jason Vasquez
Indy Fuel games are always a blast!
Veronica Banks
The event drew a very nice crowd. Everyone was practicing all neccessary safety precautions, and having a great time! π β¦
Kyle Schell
They needed better planing on the parking where they was parking people and where the show was you literally couldn't park no farther away but other then that pretty decent
Thomas Hale
Went to Christmas gift and hobby show. Plenty of parking. A bit of a pain navigating 38th street right now. Great show.
Tree Furr
The fair was expensive this year. It was $15 to park & $14 to to get in. Tickets for the rides were outrageous & they didn't sell wristbands on the weekend. The food prices were $$$. We had some fun but it was costly & not worth the price.
renee garrett
What a fun amazing evening with all the trucks tonight. The kids had a blast and my son is now a huge fan of all things truck!
Nicholas Warren
It's the fair grounds hasn't really changed much in my opinion. Lol nice facility. AD accessibility in restrooms. Clean.
Karen S.
Well planned parking, easy handicapped access. Volunteers and staff very helpful. Clean streets and walkways. Indoor restrooms.
Kevin McDonald
A little pricey but other than that a great place to have fun on a date or take the kids.
Brad Anderson
It's a fun show we always enjoy. We get idea for enhancing our house and yard.
Hoa Nguyen
The State Fair is well organized. The line for parking can be long but it's normal for this type of event.
James Mote (Motedog)
The best gun and knife show ever! They also have reloading equipment, brass, primers, powder, slugs, shot, camping, survival gear. One of the best things you will find at any gun show and it's free. Great stories, life experiences, and flipping awesome information on what it is that your buying. The level of indepth knowledge on every product that is sold. Is mind boggling. Everyone is extremely polite. Great people, products, and advice. What more could you want. Highly recommended.
Alyssa Crowder
We went to an Indy Fuel game that was there. It was really fun!
Rahmel Freeman
Our family went last year when it was held outside and you traveled through the parking lot in your vehicle, and again this year when held inside. The kids had a great time but, this time around it seemed like you got less attraction for more money, I could be wrong but there were less displays and a big "play area" compared to last year. The same as last year stuffed toys we purchased again this year were more expensive ($30 now) and actually had bad stitching, didn't notice until we got home and pulled it out of the bag that the stuffing was coming out. $95 for two small stuffed animals and a bubble wand massively marked up is pretty steep for what was offered this year... Not sure if I can recommend this event for next year...
Elaine Sloan
Glad the 2022 Flower and Patio Show got to happen. It was my husband and my first date and we celebrated 25 years married attending yesterday!
Charles W. Clark
Fun place to take the kids. Always love attending the fair, and smaller events at in the state fair grounds.
Midwest FB, LLC
Aways a great time. Kudos to the parking staff. They're always fun.
Chris Howard
Very nice and spacious for our company to set up a event. Love it
Marcus Jefferson
All I can say is Fair food is great! Love β€ seeing the multitude, multicultural crowd. Can't wait to do it again next year!
kimberly arnold
The Indiana State Fair should definitely be on your tour of State Fairs every summer. Very safe & the concerts are Phenomenal. Indiana has THE best sweet corn Ohio! The matter is settled. Go BUCKEYES though! The Indiana State Fair is THE best in the midwest. Great place to visit! Not live. But do visit!
Larry Scott
Great time at the Gift and Hobby show. Big crowd but still had plenty of room.
Valerie L Rice
Plenty of activities, food, and rides. I went on a Thursday so it was $3 entrance fee and food vendors had at least one $3 option. Those options, though, were simply a bite size. So if you are hungry or plan to stay for hours, be prepared to pay anywhere from $12 - $15+ for the regular size food options. Even bottled water is priced at $3 and up. I thought the website mentioned the wristband would be $3 to ride most rides but tickets had to be purchased: 1 ticket for 1 ride. Some restrictions applied. The bathrooms need to be better manned as it relates to cleaning. There should always be toilet paper, soap, and usable toilets, which were not the case for me. With this issue of COVID, this matter should be a priority. Take flushable wipes to be on the safe side. I brought my own travel size flushable wipes and soap in my purse. I would recommend this event. If you're on a budget, $3 Thursday may be the best option. Set your budget for food and souvenirs before you go and stick to it. Take an umbrella; use it in case of rain or protection from the sun. Either way, you'll be glad you brought it.
alivia 07
I had a great time and loved the value of $2 Tuesday! I can't wait until next year!
Latasha Hammond
Great Place had a blast for my first time being there will be back next year π β¦
Debbiekay Timmerman
Great to get to go back to the fair this year...We all had a great time..
Godfrey Mchanake
Loved it, I come here every year since 2011 and it's always something new to amaze everyone
William Fielding
Flower and patio show at fair grounds always good. But cost to much to get in and still have to pay $3.00 for a bottle of water. The $6.00 beer is a better deal!
Aaya Hefni
very crowded but there were really good rides my favorite was the screamer and alien abduction
Dan Dunham
We had a great time at the Pepsi coliseum. It was 8$ to park but it's super easy in and out so it's totally worth it. Much easier than trying to find parking downtown. The arena is very easy to get to and get around as it's not as big as the venues downtown. Good concessions and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We purchased tickets there and that was easy and quick. I had to make some last minute changes to our tickets and the very nice ticketing agent was extremely helpful in getting the changes done. The facility was built in 1939 but the entire venue has been updated just a few years ago so everything is nice and modern. I will go back for sure.
Talena Edmonds
MY FAVORITE PLACE IN AUGUST IT'S THE FAIR. I WENT 4 TIMES THIS YEAR. LOVE IT π β¦
Kandice Mitchell
It was fun! The logo museum there is my favorite...
Larry N
Great time at the state fair! Pulled pork MSc and cheese and donut burger were great
George Moorman
As being an old country kid, this year was very disappointing. There was little livestock present to look at. Plenty of vendors and other ways to spend your money. Also, the heat got to my wife and we left early. Shortly after the traditional grilled cheese sandwiches and milk shakes at the Dairy Bar and th we n watched a Lumberjack show.
Jennifer Abrell
We visit the State Fair every year. I feel like Indiana has one of the best in the country. Always a good time, plenty of great food, activities for every interest.
Ashley Ziegler
It was neat the kids had fun; however, we had 5 kids in one vehicle ranging from 2 to 12. It was horrible. Listened to the website and came around 9 hoping it would be quicker. 2.5 hours waiting in line to see a 30 minute light show.... was not worth it. Do not go on the weekends at all costs and definitely bring snacks.
Samuel Deckard
Love coming here! Itβs a great time, amazing fair food! I wish they would offer more dietary options to eat!
Still always a year after year amazing time. Love taking the family.
Andrea Erickson
All Indy festival was a fun time. Loved the Fairgrounds for this event. Easy parking. Clean washrooms. Friendly staff.
John Freed
State Fair is always worth going to! Itβs a family tradition. Even now that we live in Michigan, we still come home for the fair.
Stephanie Horton
My grandkids had a great time and I had a joyful time with them.

Great 2020 Indy RV Expo shows. All shows I've seen here are amazing. A lot to see.
Robin James
Attended State Fair band day. Facilities are nice, comfortable. Very disability accessible. Gate workers were very nice.
Angela Shull-Hemmelgarn
The state fair was ok, it may have just been the day we were there, there really wasn't much going on as far as shows and things like that. We always enjoy the animal barns and our main reason for attending is band day and that is always fun we go every year.
Angie Vinson
Waited 2hrs for a half hour of Christmas lights. We only had to pay 14 dollars which was great
Kerry Holland
Great time, ok food. Had a good experience
Brian Kibirige
Great place for agricultural events
Sarah G.
Had a great time! we only made it half way around but we managed to play, eat, look through our favorite buildings, eat more & ride the farris wheel plus dad won the kids a HUGE Minion.

To high priced crazy.... But had fun seeing the cows sheep horses could not afford to eat a bottle or water was $5 I can get a case for that crazy fill riped off
Kali Williams
There's always some kind of event going on for the whole family all year long
Bryce Davis
As always Indy Fairgrounds did not disappoint. Went for the gun and knife expo and ended up checking out the the reptile and farm animal expo as well as an aquatic animal expo.
Laura Lawyer
Went on $3 Thursday and had a great time. The trolley around the fair was free on Thursdays. The lines for food werenβt long and we had a great time!!
Robin Hultman
Would have liked a little more to do. Still had a nice time though.
Robert Parish: The Crazy Cat Guy!
Great place to spend the summer
Gina Patterson
Had a great time at a hockey game, nice, clean place to visit!!
Kate Pentland
The state fair is awesome! I think everyone should have the opportunity to attend at least once for the full experience. I was at the fairgrounds two nights ago to attend the graduation from North Central High School. The grounds were clean. The landscaping was nicely done. And the Farmer's Colosseum was very nice for the graduation. Beautiful ceremony. I come here often...I live at the corner of gate 18! I hope to see you at the fairgrounds this summer! Buy your tickets in advance!
Coco Williams
My first time ever seeing it here in Indianapolis the Lights were Beautiful.. I'm from Miami, Florida

It was wonderful!!! Drove all the way from North Carolina to show my children how a true State Fair is... oh how I love the Indiana State Fair!!
Derek Luber
Been for multiple events. Never had a complaint.

This was my first time to Fairgrounds. Went there for the Fair. I went on $2 dollar Tuesday. First, you may need to ask the food vendors for the 2 dollar Tuesday sample because not everyone has a sign in their place of business. The food I had was a Gyro. It was ten dollars but not worth ten dollars. It was good, but not good enough for the price. The Lemonade shake up I had was pretty good. It wasn't too sweet or too sour... Just right. $2.00 refills.
I also had a pulled pork sandwich. It was hot but the portion was small and not worth 6 dollars. The best thing I had was a pretzel at the fair. I couldn't believe how good it was. I'm not much of a pretzel fan but my friend convinced me to try it. I was blown away by how soft and great tasting it was. It was a huge pretzel and all for 5 dollars. Something I would recommend trying.
The rides are expensive. Yes, on 2 dollar Tuesday you can get some deals on the rides, but not all have this. I rode the Lift and it was $6.00 a person. There are a lot of variety when it comes to the rides. There are plenty of rides for the young kids too.
The games were expensive and the prizes were mediocre at best. I've seen better stuffed animals to win at Indiana Beach and local carnivals. The grounds were kept up well. So were the bathrooms. Definitely a clean place.
When I first arrived at the fair there were many people guiding cars where to park. It was organized, but I had hard time finding the exit to leave the Fairgrounds. It was fairly dark in the parking lot and it made seeing things hard. There wasn't any signs I saw (maybe I didn't see em cause of the lack of light) to show you how to get out and I ended up asking someone to show me how to leave.
Overall, I liked the fair but prepared to bring money and lots of it if you have a family. There are things you can do for free inside the buildings, seeing the animals, watching a show, such as Sixteen Candles but I've seen local fairs such as the Lake and Porter County fairs up in Northwest Indiana have just as good of a fair, if not better in some aspects and not as expensive.
Victoria Line
We visited the 2nd day it was open, it was a lot of fun! There was something for each person in our family to enjoy!
The butterfly garden was very neat! π¦ β¦
G Santana
Nice complex and have few pavilion for the expo.
N Odell
Enjoy The Home Show 2023! Many local contractors offer savings on refurbishing and building projects for the home. A fun indoor event in January.

Chinese Lantern Festival was amazing awesome place to take the children and family
Derek Fakehany
The best part of summer is going to the State Fair.
Jl Saylor
Came for the auto auction. Really good set up.
Bruce Cobaugh
Got to love a good car aution
Dawn Creasey
Fair food is always the best, the rides are are extraordinary. Some of them are better than king's island in my opinion.
HeatherLynne Shockley
We had an amazing time the lines were efficient everything seemed to be very clean the restrooms were really nice this year as well the food was great it was a overall great time great times at the Indiana state fair
Elaine Baumann
Little pricey for what I consider not that much variety, was expecting more!
Bll Cain
Lots of walking. Too much unhealthy food. Great monster Skyview ferris wheel. 150 ft. Tall
Kayellen Crooke
Nicer this year than I remember. The be team was running, thank goodness. Lots of areas set up for eating, or just plain sitting and relaxing. The new vegan food truck was great. I always love to visit the 4H barn. We enjoyed the day. I'll be going next year?
Carlos Valencia
The hockey game was awesome atmosphere was amazing definitely will be going back
Mike Fassbender
We go for the Christmas lights ... never disappointed
Bette Maners
Went to the Oddities and Curiosities show. Got a great parking space and had a great time.
Shelbi Patrick
We love going to the Fair. Had a blast.
DAISY ZENG
Indiana tradition, fun place to go every year!
Onetrusista Albright
After living in Indy for 3 years, glad we finally made it to the state fair. Had a great time can't wait til next year.
Amy N Smith
The drive-thru winter lights were amazing!!! Worth the money.
Kandi lynn crittendon
Every year we like to go to the camper shows at the fairgrounds this year due to a back surgery I got pushed around in a wheelchair
Cade Rodgers
Had so much fun with my girlfriend, food tends to get pricey but that's how it always is. Rides are fun and the atmosphere is so nice.
Vanessa Seip
Fun . Kids loved it
Dimitri Putney
Went to see the xmas lights with family. Amazing experience!
Tiffany Galindo
Staff friendly upon arrival entering grounds, directing us to park. (Hubby & I there for the "Band Competition Day). Once parked near "bandstand bleachers vicinity, yes we did walk a little, but to be expected at an arena type place.... Nbd really... Upon entering area (racetrack bleachers), we walked through metal detectors. Were "wanted" as expected, and were easily directed to walk downstairs (underground) to get across track to Bleacher's area. Had a fabulous timeβ€
Toni Kozlowski
It's not as big as it used to be and it was more commercial than in the past its was more hand made.
Machelle Poindexter
4x4 jam. Had a great time!
Andie Needham
Went to boat sport and travel, and the flower and patio, and world of wheels this year. All were great!
Heather 78
Went to the Gun and Knife show, South Pavilion. Had a good time, lots of booths with many selections of guns, knives, holsters, ammo, ammo boxes, army attire, food, even a couple of medical supply type booths. A bit more expensive this year. Children under 12 the cost is $5 12 years of age to Adults cost $15 and parking is $10. Definitely worth going to look and have family time but the prices of everything inside has gone up this year.

State fair is always great if you afford to go! Gets higher and higher every year
Marcus Rodgers
Cozy and fun place to watch hockey.
The Elevator and Airplane Finder
The reason I gave 3 stars is because the RV show was awesome. I have photos attached. Except the State fair was awful. Itβs VERY OVERPRICED. It was literally $3 for a small soda and $4 for a bottle of water. and the rides are old and feel like theyβre gonna break.
You should definitely visit the RV show, but donβt attend the fair. Itβs terrible.
Jeff Wiles
Very old but nice place to see a concert, game, or even graduation. So many things could/do go on here. Probably needs a lot of updates to meet newer technologies and standards though.
James White Jr
This venue hosts events from Horse Shows to Hockey Games and practically every sporting event popular here in the MidWest. With the Pandemic Subsiding, Public Gatherings are happening all over.
Matthew Sams
This remains the highlight of our summer. Indiana rightfully takes pride in it's culture and traditions and that is on full display at every state fair. From the agriculture and livestock showcases to the live music festivals this is a must do on on any Hoosier's list. Great fun!
Chad Cooper
The Christmas lights were awesome!
Jessica Baugh
Went to see the Christmas lights! The kids loved it
Robert Carroll
Had a great time at the fair.
MaddadtheDrummer
It's changed a little, but the food was great as always
Barb Mahoney
Went to Christmas Craft and Hobby Show, which was great. However they did not have shuttle service and had to park a long way from the building. In the past they had shuttle service which was great after walking all day and carrying heavy packages. I do not know if we will attend again, this was to far to walk for us old folks.
Joe G
We attended the Freeman's Super Sunday Swap Meet in the West Pavilion. As always the fairgrounds staff were on top of it. Bathrooms clean. The swap meet was great too. Founds lots of odd and end parts for our car.
Indy Go
$8.00 to park, this is too much. $5.00 was semi reasonable.
Bob Carnahan
The fairgrounds are a wonderful place, full of a large variety of activities. I have attended everything from graduations to sporting events to the flower and patio show, and , of course the Indiana State Fair! Parking has gotten more expensive, but what hasn't? And it is understandable with the upkeep and employment factors.
Andrea Downing
Had a great time, my daughter loved looking at the animals, the food was good but very expensive, she also loves the rides.
Cory Hayes
7.00 per person is well worth the price for seeing the Christmas lights. Make sure to tune radio to the station thats on the sign when you pay. Awesome experience.
Lemer Seven
Great time, first time at the fair. Worth the time it takes to see it.
DeShawn Franklin (Dee)
We had so much fun!

I've been going to the state fairgrounds since I was a kid. The state fairgrounds has hosted one event or another. Although of late they are trying to improve the facilities but at the cost of the public. I like to know where my tax dollars went. I don't care for lack of security and I would say that if I was rating our state fair compared to that of other state fairgrounds I would say we were two or three from the bottom. The staff is fairly incompetent and they don't do their job they don't maintain the facility well. And of course now that they redone coliseum no one can afford use it. Even force the shriners away from it which held their circus there for many years. About 25 years ago I was robbed at gunpoint at the fairgrounds due to incompetency and lack of security during a antique show. Nothing much is improved the gates don't have good security people can walk in and out the grounds. If you're going to an event there I suggest you conceal a firearm keep it with you cuz you never know walking between the building is in your car could be a very interesting situation.
Legofan13
I really like this place, brickworld was fun
James Brady
Clean facility, polite personnel and free entertainment. A good time to be had on a good day.
April Tarry
Located on the east side of the fair. The Ferris Wheel AKA Hoosier Cruiser $10.00 a person. Very Nice, Air conditioned, high height and an awesome view. The east side seems to be much less combusted. I enjoyed the dinner dish. Sirloin steak, Potato, grilled Onion and Mushrooms. Can't leave without trying the Funnel Cake. Elephant ear wasn't good this year 2021. Enjoyed walking and buying solar light yard decorations. Bought my husband a Hat and enjoyed the animals. Award winning Indiana State Pig. Over all price we spent $100. Pros- Safety, Gates Close at 8pm Fair closed at 11pm. Cons- Less rides, Elephant Ear.
Dedra Grubbs (Dee)
Had a good time a lot of good food as usual
Anita Huizenga
My friend & I came here to see Travis Tritt in concert. We had a good time
Jason Ink
Great facility for a dog show! Very clean inside and out. Bathrooms were also very clean. Very well kept fairgrounds. I would definitely recommend this venue. Also plenty police present to make sure all is well amd secure.
Bbob Bbob
Attended the Mecum Auto auction on a Thursday. 2nd year in a row for me. Getting to see close up the variety of 50 & 60's alone was well worth the price of admission
Lisa M. Owens
Christmas π lights were Beautiful β₯οΈπΉ... β¦
Jason Medley
Haven't been there since the upgrades. Very impressed.
Dan Cochran
Good fair food, family oriented and plenty of parking. Went for the swine show
Cai Sue Grass
Decent grounds. Went here for the Reptile Expo. & I'm usually pleased with the outcome of vendors - not sure what happened this past week because there was a lot of empty room..
Brenda Marion
I am glad I decided to go...it was the last day plus is was my birthday! I had a great time. The man at the ticket booth was fantastic...my elephant ear was scrumptious and we had a ball walking around and playing the games. I was even able to listen to some good gospel music. I can't wait until next year.
Karen Shrewsbury
Overall it was a good experience. I had entered into the Fine Arts competition and that is why I was at the fair. After checking my pictures to see if I'd won a ribbon we walked around a bit and ate their food. All in all it was a good time
Bassy's Garage
I go every year to see the World of Wheels event! The state fair is pretty cool too. The dog show happens the same time as world of wheels. Also the Indy Mega Adoption event is held here!
Carrie Mounce
Had a marvelous time. My husband would have stayed all day if we had the time.
kristina white
1st time attending this..i like!! Plus it was a BEAUTIFUL evening/night π β¦
C Mac
RV Expo in West Pavilion was quite warm inside.
mbowyer75
The Christmas Lights are the best display in town!
Cindi Lockhart
The Christmas Lights drive through was better than expected. I am not typically a fan of 4th of July fireworks or Christmas light displays. This drive through was definitely accentuated by the radio station music collaboration. The character/faces light figures that sang along to the music added some interesting fun.
Kathryn Glauner
We go for world of wheels every year and do the reptile expos once a month .. it's a very clean well kept buildings. Parking is a lil pricy 10$ is expensive just to park plus getting into the events excessive but ig I get it kinda
Angel Khalil
We had fun there.
Alan Colwell
Lots of fun, great place
Douglas Dukeman
Fantastic experience today. 1st time ever attending the Mecum auto auction. Everything went as smooth as
Silk here. Everyone does a great job keeping everything flowing smoothly.
Rickie Bellamy
I had a great experience while I was there viewing all the exhibits. Also enjoyed popcorn and fudge candy. The crowd was not too bad and the vendors were very informative.
rolando baluja
The fair has become very overrated. I got free tickets for the fair for my job but unfortunately I wasn't able to really use it. When I arrived on the fair on Friday I arrived there at 7:30 pm and was informed by staff at parking that the fair did not close to 11:00 and that parking close at 8:00 but no one told me that the gate closed at 8:00. The tickets I had were only good through weekdays last week when I checked the hours of the fair on the website it showed that it was from 8:00 to 8:00 this week it showed that it was for extended hours. I was not allowed to answer because I arrived after 8:00 p.m. with my family. The food was good but a lot of the food was overpriced. Many of the rides were also very overpriced especially the sky Rider which cost you four tickets to go one way and four tickets to go the way back. If you're able to get free tickets or reduced tickets through either the military day or on one of the reduced days then it's okay to go otherwise you're not really going to get any bang for your buck. It was also upsetting to see very few people wearing masks there. Given the fact that we're in a pandemic you'd want the people preparing food to wear masks you would want the majority of people there to wear masks especially since you do not want the virus to spread.
Chris Cummins
We saw the All In Festival here. The venue seemed to accommodate the event.
B M
Went to see an Indy Fuel hockey game. It was faith and family night with all the free hot dogs, cheese burgers, and pop corn you could eat. The Fuel won. It was an enjoyable night for the whole family.
Nicole G
Lots to see! RV show was great fun.
Janice Smith
Great every year good food good fun shot out to Hoosiers Lottery!
Brandi Cook
We always have such a good time at the state fair. They had great activities for families with young kids this year (movie in the shade with lawn chairs, farm work and getting snacks, animal interactions, etc.) Many good food choices. So much to do and see. The can displays (that get donated) are so awesome each year!
Elena S. Kim
This is amazing experience, with possibility to save on tickets and food on designated days. DNR fishing and Pumpkin contest were the most interesting to my family.
Timothy Oduremi
Super fun place...I love the smoke turkeyπ€£π€£π€£ and the rides were amazing β¦
Elise Lenehan
I mighy be biased, being from Indiana and all, but out state fair is phenomenal!
Matt Good
Cool drive thru light display that is synchronized to music and can be played over your vehicle's radio (90.7). You do need reservations and have to prepay. When you make your reservation, it is for a 2 hr. window. You need to be there within this time frame. Our window was 8p-10p. We arrived at 8p, and it took about 50 minutes to get to the actual start of light tour, which is setup in the fairgrounds infield. The tour itself took about 20 minutes. You can see lights and listen to the music prior to the tour. The cost is $30.00 per vehicle for 8 passengers or less.
Steve Hulbert
There were a lot of people just hanging around the main entrance where you buy your tickets didn't seem to be very safe.
Isiah Tatum
I went for the 1500 Gun and Knife show. It was a good event. But there was this guy from the lot staff that was rude. The parking lot staff should be able to direct customers as to what event they want to attend. But they had no idea as to were I should park for what event I was going to. I feel it would help to have a little more signage around to direct customers where to go.
Marie MP
This was our first time attending andbwe had a great time. It is so big and there is so much to do. The only issue unbranded we purchased lemonade and they said our refills would be 4.00 they never said it was only goos one one said so on the other side of the park we wanted a refill and they charged us more stating they are not the same like really that was redic. There is plenty to do eat and see.
Lou El Toyotero
Took my son to the fair. It was helpful financially to get the free entrance (with newspaper purchase) to the fair. Lots to see. My 3 year old had a blast. The day that I went they had a display of GMC vehicles and it was interesting to see how many people were looking at them. Food is expensive!
Tami Holland
We really enjoyed this light display especially during a covid holiday season.
Gee
1st time going to the indy fair and was able to spend under$100
Kevin Mccreight
Bid enough for multiple events, buildings are well maintained, nice layout
Benjamin Trumbull
Awesome night of mc racing
Tessa Hintz
There are so many things to see and do, but if you have children, you might need to take out a loan.
Evelyn Barrueto
My daughter and her friends have a great time and really enjoyed the rides!
kelsi wagner
So much fun!!!
Bluzign Concepts
Food was good, kids enjoyed the pigs and the weather wasn't bad either
Diann Holmes
Went to an event at the west Pavillion. Almost everything was great. The only thing I would recommend is to make it more handicap accessible. It was very hard to get to the entrance from the parking lot
Renita Maul
The food was great. My only problem is why charge to park your vehicles and parking spots were horrible. It's the State fair!!!! Your parking should be free no one is watching your vehicles. Also admission cost $10-$13 should include the parking. No one should have to pay $10 park ,$13 admission per person. It's suppose to be enjoyable not rip off before you enter the Midway. Come on Indiana Stage Fair do better for 2022.
Toni Halterman
We went on the last (and what felt like the hottest) day. We bought the bracelets and rode the rides continuously. We briefly walked through the merchant's building and some animal barns. We also went through the agricultural building and rode the Observation Wheel. We made a complete circle around the entire fairgrounds and still didn't see everything. It's a good thing the fair isn't about how much money you can save!
Melissa Paulson
Had so much fun
Tarik Pompy
Lights were beautiful and the pace of driving around to see the display was ok.
Clint Jones
Went for the lights during Christmas. Amazing. Word of advice.... Dedicate a couple hours cause the lines can be frustrating but it's the first year so if they keep doing it, it will get better. Roughly 30 for a car full of people, up to 9 I believe more than that, they charge more. Worth the time. Music synched up great too. Station is 95.1
Patrice J.
Awesome Gospel Explosion! Awesome customer service at all of the tents we visited. And great attempt at keeping the grounds clean. It's hard to catch everything these crazy folks decide to throw on the ground, but for the most part, I appreciate the extra effort this year in trying to keep up with the litter!
Naomi Thomas
The fair this year was great. We were able to go 2 separate times and my 2 girls enjoyed every minute. The Lego exhibit they had was not only awesome but a great way to escape from the heat!
Kathi Davidson
Wonderful afternoon at the State Fair. I'll keep this post about the grounds themselves because there is way too much about the Fair itself. Despite being so busy the grounds were clean and neat. I didn't see any trash anywhere and was aware of staff sweeping and tidying up all over. They were doing a great job. The buildings are well maintained and it is clear Indiana takes pride in keeping them up to date.
Marianne Pelletier
Was there for the IAFE convention and great time. Great facilities.
Michael Simmons
Great location but lacking in signage and directions for the event I was attending.
Nikki Wright
Great experience at the fair. Workers were very helpful. The free shuttle ride that is pulled by a tractor was a huge hit with my kids. Workers and people attending the fair were very considerate of others due to covid happening. Everyone did their best to give others space. The goat barn was my favorite place! And don't miss the homemade ice-cream at the Prarie Farms food booth.
Pia Nathani
A bit overwhelming since Covid stay-at-home for more than a year. A lot of fried foods and sweet desserts. I wish there were healthier eating options. Found some great local Maple syrup shops. Enjoyed the farm animals and the tractor ride that helped us see how big the fair really was. The rides started at 11 am and we were there quite early so we had to wait only to realize that it was too crowded. Lots of same kind of foods-mac n cheese, taters, pulled pork etc. Some food diversity would helped the eating of the overall experience.
Tony Sutherlin
O'Reilly 4x4 Off-Road Jamboree... Always a great time!
Garrison Kruse
State Fair was nice, better now they required those under 18 to have an adult/parent with them. Kinda liked the idea of 18 days but M/Tu closed.
$3 Thursday's felt a little set up...show up at 11am and many places said they were "sold out" of the $3 items.
Overall better experience then in the past.
Ron Reichhart
We attended the Skills USA competition in the west pavilion which was very clean and brightly lit. I've been going to the State fair for over 50 years and it's been getting better with updates to the grounds
Ron Weisman
The Indiana State Fair was a fun place. Lots of food (even 1 or 2 kinda healthy) like the pineapple whip. If you go, BE SURE TO SEE THE CIRCUS, it was AMAZING!!
Derek Moore
We always have fun at the indiana State Fair!
Brandon Best
Saw the last ever Hoosier 100 here at the fairgrounds. Was simply amazing.
AbiliTV Live
Hats off to the police and others directing traffic!
Really easy overall to get around in my manual wheelchair.
I either missed the retailers that sell hats, western wear, and those types of things. Or, they didn't have them.
Used the fair app, and it only showed 2 vendor areas, one the permanent store, and the other a few toy sellers.
Idea for the app: Since all devices use GPS why not ahow my location on the map. YOU ARE HERE.
Use the Google map feature for walking. And, pow your app became ever so more usefull.
Because, the buildings are not as easy to figure out if you are not used to them.
Here is a neat idea to work into the app:
Let users do FB live from the app thus adding content to the fair website. Have us agree to let you use any video made through text fair app. Presto you have a reason to use the app for more than just a map.
A map overlay would be wicked showing your location.
Make it s you can set way points to reach the exact spot you want. Spot being a activity, building, or handicap friendly restriom.
OK, now back to the fair.
Not sure how it could work but on the map I saw a lot of what I think was unused space. Why not expand into those spots also. Placing interesting activities, maybe rides, fairway games, and vendors of many types.
If that space is used for say vehicles for the fair to happen.... Whoops.
Loved the big letters spelling FA R and NDY those are super awesome and simple. But, so much fun.
Ideas: Put words around all over spelling some silly things also... Put Indy Car models around for photo ops. Maybe a few police vehicle models, fire truck, and other simple photo op models.
Love the huge tractor people movers. Fun watching people being rolled around.
Great food! Awesome fair persnel.
This might be put of your control due to scheduling.
Have you given thought to having the fair in July? The last 17 days say.
I only say this because kids go to school as the fair starts. I would like to think you would get a lot more people that way.
Love going to the fair. βΏ
Hale Richards
Drove almost 10 hours to be at the 39th 4 Wheel Jamboree. We came specifically to see Dennis Anderson (of Grave Digger fame). Everyone was very nice and the place seemed well maintained. Lots of tricked out vehicles. All in all we had a good time.
Todd McClellan
Food was way overpriced, in my opinion.
Parking and ticket verification took entirely way too long.
Not a big selection of agriculture equipment, nor the new vehicles. (Unless you wanted a swimspa or hot tub...)
Need more people haulers. We had to wait and watch carriages full of people come to a designated spot, and nobody got off, then drive away 2,3,4 times...with a 5 to 10 minute intervals!!!
Selection of vendors in the expo hall was pathetic compared to years past.
Jowanna Peterson
I had a relatively nice time. A real bummer is that it is too expensive to get in and park. On the $3 Thursdays the shuttle on the inside the fairgrounds stops running at 5pm instead of 10pm, another REAL disservice. The worst part about the fair this year is that the much loved Glendale free shuttle/parking was not in service. That was outrageous! The BEST additions were the new fair foods (mostly overpriced) and the fact that the shuttle inside the park was free this year and should definitely stay that way!!! Regardless of the obvious picking of the consumer pockets I am down for the fair anytime!!!
Tim Renshaw
The State Fairgrounds is a good venue for events like Today's Flower and Patio Show.
Unfortunately vendor participation was low.
One of the garden areas was completely impassable by anyone on a mobility scooter, and there were quite a few of them! Shame on the producers of the show.
Matthew Zook
The place is not crowded and the displays are great.
Jerry Meyers
The facility is well maintained. Yes, it costs $10 to park. There are shuttle busses that take you around. They run on tips. Our driver was friendly and the bus clean.
Shirley Niedzwiecki
Had a lot of fun visiting the Fairgrounds and hitting the pokestops.
Loren Horn
Plenty of room and well lit for shows
Nathan Allan
Great venue for events, crazy parking situations
Sandra Gill
First time at Indiana State Fair. Grounds were clean, staff were friendly, food and drinks amazing and abundant! We didn't have but a couple hours, but can see how this can be easily be an all day outing or even come back for a second day to make it through all the exhibits. The Budweiser Clydesdales were awesome to see up close.
Coco Hofer
I have always had fun at the fair. I always like to get a henna tattoo before going home.
Dean Stratman II
We went to the Christmas Nights of Lights at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. It was very well done, and best of all, you don't even need to get out of your car. We will definitely be coming back next year.
Jeff Kaser
The deep fried sugar cream pie was amazing. Maple bacon, BBQ bacon, fried cheese curds, hand dipped corn dogs. Can't go wrong.
Scott Morris
This year I took our 7 year old grandkid. What a hoot! She loves pigs, horses, rabbits and chickens. We went back to the swine barn twice to pet the piglets. We rode some of the rides and played a few games. We both ate corn dogs. The tractor-pulled tram was thrilling, too.
The brick house was full of fantastic large Lego sculptures. She made a bee line for the snow leopard and told me "jaguars are my favorite!"
I told her "mine, too".
I'm an old time fair goer, but this was the best time ever!
Ashley Jam
We came for the pet expo and it was great!
Kim Fosterud
Grandchild loved it and $2 Tuesday made it very affordable
Pam
Love the State Fair. This year I was a little shocked that the Beach Boys concert at the Free Stage required no mask wearing.
I thought it was a Free concert, but a bracelet was required. The entire northwest section of the fair was elbow to elbow, listening to the music. Trying to get past the crowd in a mobility cart was next to impossible, with people nearly face to face, none of whom wore masks. There should have been an area guarded for passing through this area.
Mary Etta Hoffman
The best place to be from $2 Tuesday to the Circus to the fantastic FREE concerts, you cannot ask for more. Oh, one cannot forget all the animals and exhibits showing off the talents in the area!!
Ed Valdez
Enjoyed the free concert stage, the demolition derby and the fair in general.
Thomas Pattison
Lots of fun for all ages from rides and games to information about local business and public services and best of all the fair foods and creative 4H displays and info. Great end of summer fun for everyone! And check out a circus performance while you're at the fair!
Amanda A
Loved seeing the animals, the food was delicious and the rides were great!
Diana Blackford
Everything was beautiful and delicious, but food is pricier this year. You gotta take a ride on the HUGE ferris wheel! A lot of farming implements didn't show, tho. Every Thursday $3/person plus $10/car!
Mike Stickford
Parking is tight and path to events could be marked a little better.
Zain Hammad
Fun rollercoasters. Lemonade is 8 bucks and food is a little pricy but itβs expected. Different cuisines. Fun for family and Dates even for a group of friends!
T. Sinclair
I've lived in Indiana my entire 30-something years, & I've never been to the State Fair!! It's on my 'Bucket List' π!! The State Fair grounds hosted the Indiana State Archery Tournament, this year (2019). It was a little hard/confusing to figure out how to get inside the fence and navigate where we needed to go, but it looked as though they had other events going on that day too, in other buildings, etc. The facility was nice, great place for an Archery Tournament, especially one that size (over 2,000 shooters)!! We had a great time!!
Ronald Baugh
Train show was Great!! But wasn't expecting $10.00 parking!! $5.00. last time there 3 years ago. Other than that GREAT.
Nick Nickerson
Went to home and garden show. Always fun seeing new items and sampling food and drinks is always a hit. Kids had fun to. Vendors were nice.
Dennis Hankinson
Cool place for a car auction
Sophia Khan
Tons of stuff to do and good to eat. Recommend going right when it opens.
Adam Rowe
Always have a good time here and enjoy the vendors and food

Went there for the fair supposely for a Family friendly enviroment all games were fun and stuff food, was great! but im tellling yall past 8 pm its DANGEROUS we experienced 2 fights during that time! Almost 10 people arrested!!! I dont blame the place but the people who most certainly are psychopaths! If u plan on making this a family trip arrive and leave early!! Trust me!

It was my first time going, and my family and i i absolutely loved it! I must warn you thou, wear some comfortable shoes, and bring your shades with you, because the sun is out there like you owe him money.... Lol

I went to the Boat,Sport and Travel Show. They have everything even a squirrel on water skis. M6 friend and I both bought new 2022 Bonafide ss107 kayaks from Moving Water Outfitters. Thanks Jessica and Joe.

While I had a lousy experience with the campground at the fairgrounds, I was ultimately taken care of and the dispute settled to my satisfaction. I had reserved a site, and upon arrival found someone else in it. After begin given another site, only to have to occupied while I was gone for the day, I asked for a refund, and was issued that refund VERY promptly. Although I was greatly inconvenienced I was taken care of professionally and courteously. Yes, I'll try again in the future to stay here.
Daniel Mack
Enjoy my time at the State Fair. Great place to take family.
Jd Malfeu
Pricey, but it's only once a year so we splurged, 6 yr old had a blast.
Carrie Beall
Great to have the Hoosier 100 (USAC Sprint cars) event on Aug 23, 2020. Everyone in attendance did their part to practice social distancing and follow mask wearing guidelines. The event was a great success! There was also a visit from the Indy Vintage Racing Club with a few hot laps and racing history was on display!

Need more soda vending machines. Plus the ones available won't take debit/credit cards or cash. Only coin. Looking for diet Mtn Dew.

Had a blast with my 2 kiddos that was with me until I lost my 35$ wristband some how and after walking end to end with no one to help me get a refund or discount on another one I want to recommend a different system for the costumers not fair at all. My 2nd oldest ended up coming up with them so I could calm my nerves down from being so angry I was ready to pass out !!
Chris Hatfield
It was awesome. We enjoyed our self. My Mom which is 87 year old loved it also. Sure hope you add more. β€οΈ We are from Winona Lake, Indiana.
Seth Leeper
We always have a great time at the state fair. Vegan food options last year were awesome. Located right off the monon. There's finally a bridge on the monon over 38th street.
Richard Eckelbarger
Great to see indy mile motorcycle race back at the fairgrounds!!
L. G. Nigh
Grounds are getting updated. $10.00 parking is too much
Kim Krumel
It's criminal that they charge $10 to park. There's nowhere else to park and it shouldn't be allowed to gouge people to just park then have to pay to get into any event. Too bad such a nice venue has to be so greedy.
Sarina Jamerson
So much fun, and fairly clean too! The state fair is always so much fun.
Timmy Buck
Took my family to the Christmas light show, and I was incredible. One of the best light shows I have ever seen. Great job Indy Fairgrounds!
Nancy Boyce
It is so nice I love it they did a beautiful job
Traci Richards
Lots of parking but expensive. Since I was here for a smaller event it wasn't too crowded. Hard to find the right area to park.
Anthony Dunbar
Awesome time with the kids

Always a good time! Walking, bring a hat because itβs hot. Lemonade shake-up ππΌ β¦

Clean and warm. My husband and I attended the 24th Annual Chrysler Performance Trade Show and Parts Swap Meet.
Rebecca Showalter
Website said clear bag policy that wasnβt enforced- would have been nice to actually know what the rules for the event were before leaving my stuff in the car.
Nicole Means
With all the changes this year, my experience was sub par especially the food which I was really excited to try. My top picks this year were... 1st the cinna minnies, they were excellent & probably the best new thing overall (that grilled cheese waffle was the worst), 2nd was the sweet heat popcorn and third was the honey barbecue wings ( a bit pricey but still tasty). Ben's Pretzels are always a hit and I tasted my 1st pineapple whip which wasn't bad. Other than that this year's fair was nothing spectacular, although I didn't get a chance to visit the Dino exhibit.
Tina Eades
Craft Show was really nice. Had a great time.
John Small
Great venue for all kinds of attractions. A bit crowded this year with the construction at the swine building. Renfro productions puts on a great show!
Christina Timko
It was OK but you'll need to spend money for the VIP spaces for better viewing. The screen should be much higher than it was because the further back you are, you'll have bad views due to higher vehicles blocking the screen. All you'll see are strobes of light.
Jim Marszalek
First time at this fair and I came away impressed. Plenty of food and things to do. Wear you walking shoes for sure. Loved the cherry smash ice cream at the dairy bar.
Linda E
Easy way to spend a day or two. Check out the animals, exhibits, art, vendors, rides, history, food,... Free music in the evenings. Grandstand shows, rodeos,... Park in the infield so you can easily take purchases to your car.
Trish J
Great fun, really loud, will need ear plugs.
Gurvinder Singh
Amazing event, lots of fun and activities for all age groups.
Amber Patterson
Went for the Christmas Light Show. Wished there was like hot chocolate, water, cider, and candy canes available as you drive in or throughout the event: looks like a santa shop or ms claus home π β¦

I go every year. . Was closed last year due to covid . . Happy it was open. Great for kids and family's! Rides! Awesome fair foods ! Deep fried oreos pizza on a stick lemon shakeups . . Lines weren't super long when I went . . On a sunday around 6 p.m . . Prices are typical fair prices . . Lots of games. Kiddy rides for the younger children. .
Reginald Hall
Better than Lights Under Louisville though they want to sell tickets online only next year. Haven't met a person who doesn't like synchronized lights/music.
Mahmoud Abdel-Rahman
We were there for the laser show. It was fun. π β¦

Christmas light show was amazing! Lights were sincranized with music. Set your radio to the radio station and enjoy the show! Kids loved it!
David Muse
The 2021 State Fair was great, it was nice to walk around without a mask. Still felt very safe, and had a great time. The great thing about the Indiana State Fair is that there are a lot of clean restrooms and running water to wash your hands.
Trisha Chambers
It iwas pretty awesome, and it wasn't too hott last night, however I walked the entire fair and didn't see many shops at all, much less anyone doing personalized items, I missed this. I also couldn't find goat mountain, which Is also a big thing for me.
Tiffeny Freese
Indy Boat Sport and Travel Show is awesome!!!
Best Christmas show since the 70's!!!
Ellura Kwaske
Tons of fun. Will return next year to enjoy the day looking at 4-H projects, eating yummy food, riding rides, pose with my daughter for traditional summer character ending with rodeo.
Chris Sexton
Missed the fair so much in 2020! Always so many great things to do, food to eat and rides to ride. Stooopid policy that you can't bring a pocket knife in but you can buy a knife with a 24" blade once inside. Utterly ridiculous.
Michele Law
Had a great time. The lines were super long for the rides so if you buy a lot of tickets go early enough to stand a hour or longer for each ride or you will leave with with tickets left.
Michael Cunegin
We went as a date after our anniversary dinner and it was just beautiful and very well done. I would tell all to attend the Christmas of lights at the State Fair Grounds.
DeAnna Emerson
Went and looked at boats and campers ended up with a gas golf cart.
ken adams
Huge place for an event. Bathrooms definitely need updating as well as air movement in the older areas.
Gretchen Wielgus
Jurassic Quest was so much fun!
Marisa Samples
We could not find any of the advertised foodies from the website. Winner winner chicken dinner ..deepfried cheesecake or any of them if u can't try the new foods what's the purpose. And word of mouth has it many people could not find it either. No food stand advertised any of the items. Seems like advertised items would have been made easier to find sense many ppl are coming to try them.
Matt Pence
The pioneer village during the fair is quite possibly one of the best olde tyme farm and life demonstrations in the USA
Sylvestre Yamaguchi
Indiana State Fairgrounds is one of the best fairgrounds in the nation in my opinion. Very clean, lots of vendors, and lots of different attractions. Make sure you get on their website to check the different theme nights. You might be able to save a little extra money.
Bonita Smalls
Had myself a wonderful and joyous evening at the EASTSIDE REUNION DANCE I REALLY ENJOYED IT SEEING OLD SCHOOL MATES AND PEOPLE I GREW UP WITH ALSO PEOPLE WHOM I'VE CROSSED PATHS WITH IN MY LIFE πππππππ CAN'T WAIT TO GET TOGETHER AGAIN NEXT YEAR β¦

I went on Wednesday night and saw King and Country concert at the free stage then on Sunday went to casting crowns concert. Enjoyed both of them very much. I look forward to the concerts every year.
Carmela Thomas
How can you NOT love the State fair? Food vendors, rides and games were the order of the day! They also had other vendors with nice merchandise. Although it was muggy the day I went, it was still a great time!β€
Karen Summer
We came from Illinois to see these - these top all the ones we've seen in Illinois. My husband & I like to go see Christmas lights. These are well worth $30 per car.
Eugene Ford
My wife and I had a blast, we will be back on Wednesday to check out all the exhibits..
Especially Brianna's... Great job...
Brenton Frame
The fairgrounds is a good place to go see events like the home show or the World of Wheels, or even the animal events the only problem is that the layout makes things more crowded than they needs to be. The State Fair board or committee should really consider redesigning some of the Interior spaces to help with the flow of people. The Indy 1500 is the best show to go to by far but also one of the most crowded.
Cindy Henderson
First state fair I actually got to see most of the vendors and activities. The free train was extremely valuable on raising awareness of the exhibits. Also many indoor exhibits to provide relief from the heat.
Austin Mills
So far we've been here for the Indianapolis Home Show and the Flower and Patio show. This is an absolutely amazing venue and I can't wait to see what else they have coming up!

I went to a PanterA concert in 1995, ended up with after show pass and got to drink beer with Dimebag and Vinny. RIP. They are missed by many.
Chester Thomas
Great time good memories. The farm and animals were great and the rides of course are awesome! A little bit pricey but as a veteran the free discount made up for it.
Don Clift
The Christmas light display that was synchronized to music was excellent and well worth the money. You could tell a lot of work went into creating this year's display.
John Rothenbuhler
I go every year for the junk food and I love pioneer village.
Christien Legend
Its an amazing fair! Nothing bad to say.
Mikaela Cash
As always, the Indiana State Fairgrounds is always so much fun! Accessible, as well. I went for a concert during the State Fair and use a wheelchair, and they had a designated area just for those who use wheelchairs, which I thought was awesome.
Yance Hurst
It was great. Went to see the lights (Christmas) absolutely fun I recommend this place. π β¦
Dorothy Holmes-Day
I think the security was not on their job more cause if they was there should have been a guard post at every parking lot.at all times so their wouldn't been Young boys picking people random. Also the food was not good and the rides was to high.
Jamie Moore
My family had been going every year for a long time. Unfortunately I think this year will be out last. It's seems as the price of everything had gone up at all the through out the fair? 13.00 for two slices of pizza! I really don't remember this event being so expensive? Or is it just me?
Hoosier INKY
Passionate work and skills shown at the Indiana State Fair. Local foods, horticulture, livestock and antique farm equipment are my favorites.
Luis Marcano
FFA nice event great experience
Jennifer Chandler
Came to Mecum to sell a friend's car and it was amazing. Seeing over 2000 nice cars, 303 helped buff a scratch from a spectator's purse, super friendly and an experience I will never forget.
Nathan Garrison
The 2021 Indiana state fair has lots to see, and if you get tired of looking at exhibits you can get on the rides. I highly recommend visiting the pioneer village and getting yourself some old fashioned ice cream while looking around. The art building has a lot of good arts and crafts if you're into that sort of thing.
Kendra Panchot
We went to the Night of Lights and it was wonderful! Genuinely fun for the whole family! I can't wait to go next year!
John Aleman
The Mecum Auto Auction a great day to spend at the fairgrounds.
Larry Nichols
Under new construction , when completed it will be real nice
