I started using Cardinal after my experience with TruGreen wasn't that great. After a couple years, I have seen great changes. Weeds are gone, no dandelions. Grass is full and GREEN. Travis Sears is great with my lawn and is very knowledgeable. One time we walked the lawn and he explained so much about the grass and soil, I was completely surprised.

Update: I am in contact with Cardinal Lawn and we are pursuing a process to remediate the issues. The expectation is to see a healthy lawn in 30 days, so i will plan to update in October. (reset to 3 stars until final outcome is known) Original 8/27: [one star] This is the state of my lawn after 2 years with Cardinal Lawns while signed up for their full 7-treatment package. At the end of last year, I had a meeting to discuss the poor results with a manager and he agreed there were issues and promised to address them. This year we are still having issues and had a service call again, but with no better results. I have contacted them on three occasions over last 5 days but I am still waiting to hear back or schedule a meeting. They are nice people, but if the lawn has weeds like this, what are we paying for? I am hopeful to resolve this issue with Cardinal Lawn, but will judge the ultimate outcome on the weeds.

My yard was chaotic and a absolute mess after using Trugreen and then my own applications of Scotts MG. After 1 full season of Cardinal lawn, then a winter my yard is something to smile about.

over the years, I've had several weed control companies. at best, they were only ok the first year. my lawn is greatly improved since switching to Cardinal. the same tech is here every time which is important to me. he definitely takes pride in his work and details.

Have been Cardinal Lawns customer for several years. They always give phone notice of coming treatment (next 24 -48 hours). Our technician, Charles Bursey, generally gives us a heads up when he is heading to our lawns. It is much appreciated. If he sees any problems, he advises us before leaving the property.

I got referral from my neighbors who uses Cardinal. We called Cardinal and Brenden came out in August. He was so professional. I walked around with him and showed him various weeds especially crabgrass that I was concerned about. He assured me that the weeds and crabgrass would be gone and he was right. He killed my weeds and crabgrass!!!! I also mentioned we were going to need aeration this fall and he said that starts about the middle of September. I said sign us up. Ron came out and did my aeration and seeded in some areas for us. He did a great job for us. I will always use Cardinal because of their courtesy and professionalism.

I had an account for a year (prepaid) and was told that the service would not continue without my consent. When it did, I was told it was a misunderstanding on my end and no effort was made to either look further into the issue. I was told the salesman wouldn't have said that to you, end of story. A minimal effort toward resolving the issue, rather than blaming me, would likely have kept my business.. The business eventually reached out to rectify the issue. I never had a problem with the product nor the service (prior to the one mentioned above) and thanks to their willingness to look look further into the issue I'm happy to change back to a 5 star rating.

UPDATE: After speaking with the manager, they have new management and is working with me to make things right. Because they went out of their way to reach out to me, I am updating the review to positive because they do care right now compare to past employees. If I was still in Columbus, I would give them another chance to work on my lawn. When they initially did the lawn fertilization treatment, everything was great. Then one time they called and offer an additional service to spray the exterior, flower bed for weeds and fertilizer. Then it rained after the service and their solution ran from the flower bed to the sidewalk. Called them and they scheduled a supervisor to come out on a Thursday. I took the day off and mid afternoon they called to tell me they can't make it and hung up. I told them I would pay for the fertilizer but not the other services since they can't even come out and fix their mistake and they are still calling trying to bill me for their mistake. I also had a bad experience in the past with cardinal lawn where they burned my grass but at least they attempt to fix that problem even though it took a long time for the grass to come back and my yard looked like a zebra.

Cardinal aerated our lawn and did a thorough job. Definitely double coverage which is recommended. They showed up on time and made sure they knew what to avoid like our invisible fence. We will definitely have them do more work for us.

It seems that many companies over fertilize and don't amend the soil. Cardinal Lawn uses the right amount products and the correct products at the correct time.. Jesse, our technician, takes great care to do the job right. Cardinal Lawns has also reseeded my lawn and their grass seed was most effective and grew beautifully. Their services for me have been to fertilized the lawn, control weeds, amend soil, pest control and aeration. I am very pleased with their work and highly recommend the services. I can honestly say that now I have the nicest lawn!

Been using this server for over a year. Yard looks way better than it did before. We had a playset in our back yard that was a gravel pit with no grass, this is full of healthy grass now. They overseed and do aeration for me once a year and also treat my yard several times a year. Great service and will continue to use them.

Cardinal Lawns was a great choice and I'm glad to continue with them. My yard was always challenged by thistle and by encroaching dandelions from the open field behind and beside my lawn. For years I did all of the DIY stuff and it was anywhere from OK to bad. The products Cardinal uses on my lawn are safe but also made way better and more efficiently than what you can buy as a civilian. The yard was thick and weeds were very rare, if at all. I would definitely recommend using Cardinal Lawns.

We have been using Cardinal for several years now. Initially, we reached out to get rid of lawn ivy that was taking over both our front and back yard. It was gone in 1 season after Cardinals suggested treatment. My husband is very happy with how well our lawn looks with monthly treatment from Cardinal. We were also extremely pleased when we found out we could add on mosquito treatment to our plan. It's such a pleasure now to be able to sit out on our porch in the evening and not be chased inside by bug bites. We have had Josh Downor as our tech for several years now. ***Another Update*** The tech just personally came by and brought by some new toys for our pets. It was really thoughtful. ***Update*** A manager called and came out to talk to me personally. He was very apologetic and offered to do whatever they could to make the situation right. I really appreciate the way they responded to the experience and went above and beyond to make respond. *Original Review* My experience with scheduling to start was great! When it came to time of service, I had to call because no one showed up. The office informed me the tech had been out and my time was pushed back, but no one called to tell me. When the tech did come out to service - no one gave me a call ahead. I had to jump off of a meeting to run downstairs and try to clean up toys in the yard that he was spraying with pesticides. I asked him why he would spray toys in the yard and was it actually safe? He shrugged, said sorry, and that it's 'semi' organic. He then went back to spraying. I had to throw out all of the toys. I wasn't willing to put something sprayed directly with pesticides in my mouth so why would I chance it with pets and kids? After calling and discussing my experience, I received $25 off. The woman in office was very nice but I would never use this service again or recommend them. I can't believe someone came to service and was that careless with pesticides.

This company does not use voicemail! We signed up for two initial treatments over the winter from a paid sales call from this company. After the two treatments, we told the driver to stop servicing in-person yet the services continued. We received a bill on our door two days ago for twice the amount that they had been charging because of a special treatment they put on - after we asked the drivers to stop two treatments ago and paid for three treatments we did not ask for. Not happy customers. :: Update - I called the company before they closed after sending emails and spoke with Gary( I think). This person wiped out our balance and asked us to stay for the remainder of the season at half-off for the next two treatments. Given the circumstances I thought that this was fair considering that our back yard with a lot of shade hasn't grown grass this far into the season until we started with these guys. I originally rated this company 1 star but am upgrading to a 3 for non-communication between their staff - yet a reasonable resolution and good service results. We have received more treatments than we originally asked for, so make sure that you are up-front with this company about how long/ how much you want to spend up-front. Periodic lawn treatments can cost more than the monthly expectation. If they pull through until the fall I may revisit this post and upgrade. I can say that a lot of the weeds are gone and I am mowing twice as much as our neighbors.

Although services received continue from year to year, they are easy to work with to make modifications. I definitely recommend them if you live in the Columbus area. We have used Cardinal Lawns for several years. A few years ago when we started using their service our lawn looked pretty bad. I had been putting store bought products on my yard, but it seemed all I was doing was feeding the weeds. Decided to go with Cardinal Lawns because two of our neighbors used them. That was a good decision. Each year our lawn gets better. Now we get compliments on our yard. We did have a couple of issues with them, but they corrected the problems to our satisfaction. I do recommend Cardinal Lawns to anyone wanting a nice green weed free lawn.

In addition to killing weeds and making my lawn green, the staff is good for giving advice. Jesse is my technician and after a brutal summer my grass looks a little dead as I don't water my grass. After consulting with Jesse, aeration is the way to revive the dead. He wasn't just saying anything to make a sale. He gave his advice best on having the best lawn possible. They very much care about the customers they serve.

We have had a huge issue with mosquitos and bugs when we go outside. We contacted Cardinal Lawns and talked to Caitlyn, in the office, and she was extremely helpful and professional! We had Shane come out to spray around our lawn, and we have not had any issues with mosquitos or bugs since! We have actually been able to enjoy our front porch, yard, and deck again! I signed up for service based on the fact that several of my neighbors use Cardinal and they are a local company. The sales guy threw in a couple of free upgrades to sweeten the deal so I signed up. Since then I have received no communication from them other than a bill each time a treatment is made. I called several times to speak to someone about billing and never got a person on the phone. I was forced to sign up through their website to make payment. While my lawn has shown some improvement through four treatments, there is a lot of stuff still growing out there that isn't grass. Perhaps it's because three of the treatments were made on days where we had heavy rain very soon after the treatment. I requested a service call through the website, since that seems to be their only accepted method of communication, and have not yet gotten a response. It's been over a week. At this point I'm ready to cancel. I can tolerate mistakes as long as the company takes steps to right them. What I won't put up with is an apparent complete lack of regard for communicating with customers. That type of behavior makes me feel as if I am being scammed. ** UPDATE ** About a week after my post, I was contacted by a manager from Cardinal. He allowed me to (mildly) rant about my experience so far and assured me they would fix it. The next day a tech was sent out to assess the lawn and he agreed that it was not in as good of shape as it should be by then. He then performed the first of a series of extra weed treatments, the rest coming over the next two weeks or so. With the additional weed treatments and the subsequent two regular treatments, my yard is now coming along quite nicely. As a result of their efforts, I'm bumping my review up to a 3-star for now. If the lawn continues to flourish then I will revise again.

I couldn't be happier with Cardinal Lawns doing my lawn treatment program. I've been with them since 2013, and they are far better than the big name lawn care company who I was previously using. They come out on schedule, and let me know beforehand when they'll be out. My lawn is always weed free, and looks better than it has in years. We have been using a lawn service for over 15 years. The company that we initially used (and didn't like) purchased our next provider, so we were left with the same company again. When we were contacted by Cardinal Lawns, we were ready for a change. Our lawn was in questionable shape. After even just one year, it looked much better with Cardinal. They now also provide pest control (we no longer have ants in the house and our dog is flea and tick free) as well as caring for our trees/shrubs. Just wanted to give a review for the amazing service that I received by one of the guys there. Shane showed up on time, he was quick and professional every step of the way. I just needed some yard work done but he noticed that my a few of my trees were dying, I myself would have never noticed but we sat down and he explained everything clearly and precisely on a level that I could understand without any prior knowledge. I learned that they both has a disease that he explained and showed me how the disease was effecting my trees and what can be done to prevent them from dying. Im very grateful for this as we planted these trees years ago with my late grandfather and I would have been devistated had I lost the last two trees we planted together. This man deserves a raise! Update - Within a few hours of leaving the review below, I was contacted by the General Manager of Cardinal Lawns. We discussed my concerns and he offered to come out to walk my property with me. The following day, I met with him and one of associates. I expressed my frustration and they listened to what I had to say. They explained the reason my service was not up to par and came up with a plan to ensure this does not happen again. I appreciate the effort put forth to address my concerns and make things right. I plan to give them another shot this next season and hope to leave a 5 star review at the end of it. I am very disappointed with the service I received from Cardinal Lawns. I signed up for the annual lawn care program, including grub control, fertilization and aeration. Below documents my experience: 1. I received the first treatment as planned. Then I began waiting (mentally) for the second treatment. I waited, waited and waited. After 10 weeks and a completely weed infested lawn, I called to inquire when they were planning to come out. They said they forgot about me, that I dropped off their schedule. How is that even possible? How does a pre-paying customer get dropped of a service schedule? Isn't one of the most basic requirements of a company like this to manage a customer service log/schedule? 2. Because of the delay described in #1, my lawn was weedy. I called for a free touch up about two weeks after the second application because the weeds were still flourishing. This negligibly improved the weeds in my lawn. Doesn't surprise me because they were so well rooted and thriving due to the delay in treatment described above. Weed pulling party at my house! 3. The third, fourth and firth treatments occurred as expected (albeit delayed compared to when they were supposed to go down because of what i described in #1). The entire summer, I was constantly on the back end of when the product needed to go down for an optimal lawn due to the issue described in #1. I called one other time during this period for a free touch up. It helped minimally. 4. Free treatment! They actually performed the fifth treatment twice, a couple weeks apart. There's that customer service log/schedule issue creeping up again. 5. Lets talk grub control. They applied the grub control in the spring, but it must not have been effective. In late summer/early fall, my lawn showed the classic brown spots that occur with grubs and was eventually torn up in certain areas by some skunk or raccoon searching for a meal. It's frustrating I have to spend the time and energy patching my lawn when I paid a company for this not to happen. 6. Aeration. They called me late summer to ask if I wanted overseeding. I declined for this year. I thought to myself "great, I'm on their minds for aeration so that should go smoothly". Wrong! I had to call to get them to remind them I needed to be scheduled for aeration. I am not typically one to post negative reviews, but my experience has been beyond frustrating. The price was competitive, but it wasn't worth the frustration (and weed picking) I experienced all spring/summer/fall. I'm hopeful the company can use this review to evaluate where they can improve.

I can't say enough good things about this business. My lawn was a disaster area. I had almost all weeds, no grass, and grubs galore. They gave me a fair price and came out right away to meet with me and discuss my hopeful outcome and what they would need to do. They have all been very helpful and courteous. All my weeds are dead, and the process of regrowing my lawn begins. They have been very mindful of my dogs leaving their toys in the yard, and move them instead of spraying over them.
