I contacted Robert's Garage Door last evening and I got an appointment for today. I so very pleased with the entire company from the initial phone call to job completion. Michael, truly a professional and very personable came out and repaired my garage door in 15 minutes. Michael identified the issue, quoted the cost and ask if I wanted the repairs done. I was so impressed with the service Michael provided, He is truly the Mozart of garage door repairs. And the cost was very reasonable. We had 2 garage doors that were making horrendous noises. Maurizio examined the doors, made suggestions that were a lot more reasonable than we had expected, and fixed all issues. Now our garage doors open so smoothly and SO QUIETLY that I now look at the door opening up and closing down - they used to be so loud that I would hear it while the noises woke up the whole neighborhood. Maurizio was an excellent engineer and he explained to us the anatomy of garage door structures, how things work, etc. We are both immigrants and were worried that he might propose us to spend thousands and thousands of dollars, BUT he did not. He was detail oriented, reasonable, and serious about his job. He took a lot of time checking things and making everything right. It's not every day that I am impressed, because I consider myself an honest, hard worker. Maurizio worked efficiently, but also worked hard and took his time to make everything right. I hope to work with Robert's Garage and Maurizio again when our other garage door opener fails.

We had Brandon from Robert’s come out last week when our garage door wouldn’t close completely and had stopped working. When they say 24/7, they really mean it. I was able to speak with someone when I called, not an answering service, and Brandon was able to make it pretty quickly considering it was well after business hours had ended. He was able to diagnose what needed to be replaced and what needed to be repaired. The whole repair was pretty extensive and took about an hour. He explained what all the issues were, was really thorough and was able to get the door fixed. I highly recommend Robert’s and Brandon was great. If you ever have an issue with your garage door, Robert’s is who to call first.

Came same day to fix a broken condo/commercial space garage door (replace broken spring). Aaron came out and he was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient! He was communicative and came exactly when he said he would (he contacted the same day with the estimated time). He was also happy to share information while he was here on the different parts of the garage (and, for example... you can only use the manual release if there is a motor issue... you can't manually open the door if the spring breaks as ours did). He also had ideas of how to make the garage quieter (we asked), but did not press us to upgrade the motor as it was not necessary. I called a few other companies and while they quoted slightly lower prices on the phone, I felt Robert's was the most professional and legitimate company (i.e., I feel confident Aaron did a good job / offered the right parts/services that we needed and not random things). Bonus: Robert's is located in Chicago so they were able to come the quickest. We went with a higher-cycle spring since we have a door that is used very frequently. Hoping to get 3-5 years before we need to contact Robert's again! Aaron at Robert's will be my go to for all future garage-related issues.

Jon P. arrived within 20 minutes with all the current precautions. He saw my door and explained what he needed to do and best of all put me at ease. Jon started working immediately. Robert's Garage Door Pros are a godsend! We didn't know a service like this existed, but thank god they do. Our garage is in good shape overall, but the garage door was no longer working due to several factors, and we'd pretty much given up on getting it repaired. Over the last few years we'd had two separate garage door companies come out and take a look at the problem (Danley and Overhead Garage Door Inc), and neither was able (or willing) to help beyond advising that we do a complete tear-down and re-build of the entire garage. To be fair, the foundation of our 60-year-old garage is very bowed and does not create a level surface for the door to contact. In addition, the door was on an older pulley system with a motor that pulled the door open far too quickly. We were resigned to saving up the money for a new garage when we stumbled across a post on Facebook about Robert's Garage Door. Aaron from RGD was prompt and professional and after explaining the options of A) adjusting the existing pulley system; or B) replacing the existing system with a better one (using a center torsion spring) we decided to go with the latter. The estimate for the work was extremely reasonable. Aaron made the repairs and the door now opens and closes better than ever! RGD saved us the headache and expense of getting a whole new garage! Thank you, you guys are awesome! I will highly recommend RGD to everyone I know.

We had a iron front gate that would not close properly. Robert's Garage Door Professionals came out and offered a free estimate. The pricing was reasonable and we quickly scheduled a time to get it fixed. The work consisted of replacing and realigning the hinges and rewelding the hinges to the gate. They even fixed the spring so that the gate closed automatically and quietly. Matthew did a great job and I would recommend them!

Jorge was the technician that helps us out with a new garage door. He was on time and called about 25 minutes before arriving. He was able to give me a quote right at the time of the inspection and then was able to install the door 2 days later. The installation only took about 1 hr 45 minutes. He even fixed a garage door opener that had not been working. All looks and works great. Our condo building has been using Roberts Garage for services and repairs for a number of years and they have been responsive, professional and delivered quality work in a timely manner. Most recently, we had contacted Roberts to help dampen the sound coming from our commercial garage opener as it was creating a lot of noise for the 1st floor unit that was located directly above. It was so loud that any time it opened, it would wake me up because of the shaking and noise from the vibrations coming from the opener. We had contacted other contractors and they suggested replacing the opener itself at a cost of $4k/+! As a self managed 6unit building, this was a hefty price and would require a special assessment. Roberts came out for an estimate and instead of replacing, they had suggested installing small rubber washer things to help reduce the noise-- for a fraction of the price and within a few days! The technician, Brandon, was extremely resourceful and would not stop working until the issue was resolved. He was able to stabilize the unit and supports reducing the noise by 60%! He even helped us reprogram all the remote controls while entertaining the neighbors kids as well :) I can't say enough about Brandon, his expertise, commitment to his job and to making his customers happy. I can't say enough great things about our experience with Robert's Garage. Morris - the gentleman who actually came out to do the repair - was incredible. Super cordial and professional. Morris was on-site within an hour of my call. Even though I thought the door was beyond repair, Morris surveyed the damage (the door had come off its rails in the high winds yesterday and the situation looked quite bad) and he calmly and confidently said he could fix the problem. Sure enough, within one hour, the door was back in working condition. Could not be happier! Thank you again, Morris!

He needed a part and estimated that it would be installed the next day. Martin came to put my garage door in and did a fabulous job!! The weather stripping is seamless and the door is beautiful and level. The garage cable broke on my 30 yr old garage door so I decided to just replace the entire door. I remembered that shiny silver sticker from when Robert's put my new motor in and gave them a call. I got the quote and set the appointment for Sat which is amazing since I can't take off work! So very accommodating and professional. There was a bit of a scheduling mixup, causing the appointment to be a tad late, but Robert (the owner) personally called and made sure someone came out today! Jorge showed up and even though he was swamped that day and we called in such short notice, he managed to at least repair it so we could open and close manually that we could put our cars in because with the snowmagedon, our street has no parking spots. Fantastic company in every way. I've had a few hitches with my overhead garage door and I used to use another company. I can't remember how I found Robert's, but I'm glad I did. Every time I called them they came out to fix the issue the same day and in some cases a technician was ready to go home and they sent him anyway. Today Ken came out to adjust the overhead motor when the door wouldn't stay down. Now I know how to do it myself if it ever happens again. 5 stars out of 5, I highly recommend Robert's.

Our 2 car garage door broke this Saturday morning. I looked on Yelp and saw Roberts as having the highest ratings around by the largest group of reviewers. I now see why. I called and within 3 hours our garage door was fixed! Our problem was both springs had broken due to age and all cables had snapped. In addition our cars were stuck in the garage and without cables, the door was too heavy to lift by hand. This left very little room in which to work. Aaron fixed the door, replaced the springs and cables, all in less than an hour and it works great - and much smoother than before. Aaron was extremely nice and professional. Actually found Robert's on Yelp and based on the great reviews there I made the call to have him come out and check out my garage door that stopped opening at one of my buildings. Well, Robbie didn't disappoint. He came out and balanced the spring and cable, straightened the main rail, fixed the door struts oiled up the entire system and the darn door works better then when I first had it installed. Best of all the price was extremely reasonable. Neighbor saw the job he did and hired him to install a new garage door for him. I recommend him to my friends and I recommend him to you. I made an appointment early 7/14/21. I was told that Mike would arrive between 3 and 5 pm. He did not show up. I called the office and was told by the same person who made the appointment that the system had booked it for 7/13. I was told after she talked to Mike that he could come 7/15 before 10 am. On that day after 9:20 he called to say that he could not come at that time. We settled on 11 am. I had been told prior to booking the original appointment that my options for payment were cash, check, card, card online, or card over the phone to the office. I told Mike that I would pay online. He immediately started an argument, saying three times, "I don't see why I can't be paid for my work after I finish it." He was rude, condescending and lightly threatening. I told him that if he did not want to do the work, he could let me know. I also invited him to talk to the office with me. At that point he started the work. I called the office, and received an apology. I was assured that I could indeed pay online as long as I signed the invoice. The work was done in a satisfactory manner. Mike make the visit unnecessarily uncomfortable. He did not wear a mask.

I got 3 quotes for what I thought was going to be a replacement door. 2 companies said I had to replace to the tune of $1,400. Maurizio Perrelli, the tech from Robert's, said I could get away with a repair, which ended up costing me $430. He came when he said he would come and did the job very professionally. The door still looks fine and functions very well with new bracing, springs and cables. Note, they weren't able to get a quote to me until Monday from a call I made on Saturday. The other guys rushed to my house on Saturday. Don't be too eager. A couple of days of street parking saved me $1,000.

We needed 3 garage doors replaced at our home In Berwyn ASAP! Two of the old wooden doors were coming apart and had become a hazard. Morris was awesome, the spring broke on our garage door a couple of weeks ago.Morris showed up promptly after we called(Sunday). He assessed and gave us a price. He installed 2 new springs but unfortunately that was not the only problem. The whole system had been installed very poorly, and now the panel had been bent. This was not allowing the door to open/close properly so the panel needed to be replaced, possibly adding $200 plus to the bill. Morris then asked if I was able to wait a couple of days to get it fixed, which I did. He came back a couple days later and reinforced the panel, leveled everything and added some other needed parts at NO EXTRA COST!!!! The door is working better than ever! These three criteria are imperative before I allow anyone onto my property. The people I interacted with were nice but there were some operational problems. Person who came out to do the estimate quoted us for the wrong product: 1/2 hp opener for a 3-car carport instead of a 3/4 hp. Javier shows up to do the install and tells us the quote is wrong, so they have to get the right part and show up tomorrow. Quoted us a window of 10 am - 12 pm, and at 3 pm I have to call and ask where the technician is. Javier ran over to cover the missing tech, and did a good job, but I'm frustrated by the miscommunication within the company.

I called Robert's Garage and the owner (who is not a friend of mine at the time) comes over at 11pm to inspect the damage. He gives me a full estimate of a full repair, tells me that he can fix it for way less than that, and does some serious damage control on site at the time and charges me $50. Who comes out at basically midnight, fixes your broken garage, is super friendly and competent and charges you basically nothing? This place.

We'd spent the past few weeks trying to fix our garage door. We tried getting a new battery installed from a battery store who assured us it would fix the problem, but no such luck. Once again Robert's Garage Door came to the rescue with quick, great service at one of my rental properties in northwest Chicago. A door that had been broken into by burglars was wobbling up and down and wouldn't stay shut. I thought it was on its last legs when I called Robert's and got a great quote on a new door. Big surprise when owner Robbie arrived and said I didn't need a new door. He was able to repair the door with new springs, pulleys and struts. Woke up Sunday morning to discover the garage door wouldn’t open. Turns out the cable had gotten loose from one of the wheelies (w/e they’re called) on the top of the door in addition to several roller pins having slipped off the track and broken. To make matters worse, the bar which guides the chain from the motor to the door had somehow snapped off the garage frame. We hadn’t been using the garage for most of winter, so this was quite the surprise. Anyway, it was a mess. We needed the garage door fixed ASAP, and after messing with it all morning myself I decided to look for a pro. Called several places in the area, and hesitated to call anywhere too far to avoid crazy surcharges. Out of the four places I called, no one was willing to do same day (I get it, Sunday afternoon options are limited). Called Roberts around 1PM and spoke with Morris. He was straightforward about not being able to fully give me a quote over the phone without seeing it, but gave a reasonable range based on what I described was wrong. He gave me the option of a free estimate for the following day (Monday), but since it was an emergency we needed it done same day. Morris was out within 30 minutes after getting off the phone (not bad considering how far we are!). When he arrived, he was very professional, had all the parts he needed in his truck and completed the job in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend/use this company again!

Robbie is excellent! When we got home last night at 8PM, we noticed that our garage door was missing a roller and could not close. We immediately called Robert's Garage Pros - they were able to get us an appointment at 7:30 the next morning and avoid any late night emergency fees. I looked on yelp to try and find a honest company to repair my garage door. I came across Robert's Garage Door company because they had great reviews. I had to work the day my wife called them to come out to repair the garage door. My wife told me that the worker was there in no time and he completed the work with in a hour. I asked my wife did she use her credit card to pay for the service and she told me no. I then asked my wife how did she make the payment and she told me that she paid the worker $100.00 cash. I then asked my wife did she get a receipt and she told me that the worker didn't give her a receipt the only thing he gave her was a business card. I told my wife what would happen if the garage door break again do we use the business card for a receipt. She told me that the worker told her just call the number on the business card and they will comeback out and repair it. If you ask me this looks very funny, whom to say that the worker didn't pocket company money. 8-4-13 After posting this review the owner contacted me within a couple of days and resolved all my issues. I will be using this company again if I need any garage repairs. I recommend this company if you're looking for great service and an owner who cares about his customers and business.

I can't recommend these guys enough. Robbie came to my house at the end of the day for a free estimate to replace some torsion springs, beat his competition's price by 25$ and then decided he would just do the work right then if I didn't mind. He ended up having to do a great deal of extra adjustments, like moving my garage opener motor, at no extra cost. He also threw in new cables, castors, a bearing and a hinge lube for free. While he did this, he was on the phone with customers trouble shooting problems they were having with their doors. It was very impressive. Robbie obviously cares a great deal about what he does and his customers. I highly recommend him.

We’ve now used Robert’s Garage Door twice; once for garage door repair to fix a broken spring and once to install a new garage door opener and upgrade our gate operator. We had fantastic experience both times with this company and I will definitely find ways to do business with them again. The first experience was in July 2012 when the spring broke on our garage door and it wouldn’t open. Robbie’s team was there within a day and not only fixed the spring quickly, but then replaced the old rollers with a different kind of roller that made the door soooo much quieter; the best part was they threw in the rollers for free!! Our second experience was a few weeks ago when our 15 year garage door opener finally gave out and needed replacement. Robbie’s team knew their stuff and talked through several replacement garage door opener options to find one that fit our budget and our needs. We ended up with a Liftmaster that has a 10 minute auto-close feature, a must since I never remember to close it at night – if you’re looking for a new garage door opener, I definitely recommend this feature. Since the new Liftmasters use a completely different frequency (or encryption or something) that’s not compatible with old models, we found out after their team left that we couldn’t program the new remotes to work with our driveway gate operator and that our Homelink in-car remote wouldn’t work with the new Liftmaster garage opener. So of course we called Robbie and were upset that his team didn’t catch this. What I REALLY like about this company is that he immediately took responsibility and apologized that they missed this. Then he personally came to our house on a Friday evening to install a device that let our in-car Homelink system work with the new garage door opener for free!! While he was there, he added a small electronic piece to our gate operator that allowed the new remotes to work with it…all on a Friday night!! I’m a small business owner, so understand that businesses are run by people, and people sometimes make mistakes. The businesses I really like are those that own up to their mistakes and fix them at no extra cost to their customer; basically the way Roberts Garage Door Professionals did in our case. We will be using them again!

Excellent experience with this company. I called late on Thursday, didn't expect them to get out to me til Friday or even Monday, which would have been fine, but they came within an hour of my initial call. Andy was awesome, super nice guy and incredibly knowledgeable. He explained where the problem was, talked me through the repair process, which was very quick, I got a warranty which I didn't even expect, and let me know what problems to look for in the future. They picked up the phone when I called and set a three hour window to come out the next day to my house on the north side. They came exactly when they said they would. They even called 30 minutes before coming like they told me they would -- they had offered on their own to do that, so I didn't have to wait around the house for them. They looked everything over, willingly shared their insights, and gave me an estimate on the spot. They're very honest. They could have easily sold me a whole new door and track system. I thought my problems were caused by my old wood door that appears water-logged. They told me I didn't really need a new door if I didn't want to replace it -- just new springs and rollers, which would be significantly cheaper. Another tech came out later that day (also on time, and called also beforehand) with all the parts and spent two hours installing everything and turning-up the entire system including my garage door opener. They were tidy and took good care around all my tools and "treasures" stored in my garage. The new system is great. It's smooth, quiet, and a operates up and down a lot faster than it used to. Both people I worked with were professional, polite and were easy to communicate with. They got my door fixed same-day, but I wouldn't have had any concerns having them at my house with my wife and kids if I couldn't have been there.

I found myself in a bind today as one of the tracks to my garage door got damaged. I called around frantically to find a replacement so I could shut the garage door and came upon these guys in a Google search. Lucky for me they had a spare track, as these things aren't apparently kept in stock anywhere, and Robbie and Tom far exceeded my expectations with their awesome service. It was 5:03p when I called and dealt with Tom over the phone who quickly found out that they had a spare track and pricing. He called me back within ten minutes. I missed the call and called back, that's when I dealt with Robbie. He quickly and politely explained the situation and told me that once I got the measurement for that he could go ahead and cut it, he had a 7' track spare I needed 73". Back and forth I went between calls with Tom and Robbie, and within the hour I was able to meet up with Tom and pick up the track Robbie had cut for me. To top it off they even included a few pieces of hardware they thought I would need, good thing because I DID end up needing em. As for pricing, I couldn't tell ya. But Robbie's approach was more than fair. I wasn't sure what it would be worth and as explained by Robbie on the phone its something not usually sold on its own. Expecting to be gouged with some ridiculous price, I was very surprised at the amount given. My experience with them may have been short, but because of the excellent service provided by Tom and Robbie over the phone and in person, I would definitely recommend them and will probably be going to them soon for some work.

Not a big reviewer online, but wanted to take the time to note the great job that Roberts Garage Pros (the one on Halsted) did today on my condo building's gate. I had a 3 frustrating weeks trying to resolve the problem of a malfunctioning gate with another service provider. After multiple visits and calls, the previous company I called couldn't figure out the cause of the problem and suggested that we would have to replace the gate's circuit board, and showed no urgency to help me fix it. I finally gave up and called Roberts this morning. They arrived within the two hour window they quoted for me, which was a great start. After evaluating our gate, They were able to diagnose that the problem had to do with our gate's faulty safety eye, and they quickly replaced the eye and got our gate functioning properly within an hour. So glad I finally gave up on the other vendor and called Roberts - my only regret was waiting three weeks before I did. I highly recommend them for any garage gate issues you may have - they were prompt, professional, and actually fixed our problem. I won't be using anyone else again...

Had a broken spring on my 16' wide insulated garage door. Door was still going up and down despite this but figured it was not good for the motor working on 1 spring only. Called earlier in the week and made an appointment. John was my assigned tech. Scheduled for 8 - 10 AM. He called me before 9:00 to inform me that he would be running late as a job was taking longer than expected. Cool - appreciate the call. He came by at 10:15 AM, looked over the broken spring and realized it was an uncommon size. Worked the phones with his colleagues to locate the right one quickly. None were available close by, so we made arrangements to get this done later in the afternoon. Two hours later he was back. Old springs off, new springs on AND old metal rollers replaced with new nylon rollers. Door worked like a charm and was SO QUIET now with the nylon rollers. John also adjusted the settings for door force up and down. Along the way he answered every question I had and when the work was done, cleaned up all the old parts and wiped the fingerprints off the door. A great experience - price was as quoted (no surprises), work was done quickly, efficiently and professionally. I learned a lot talking with and watching John at work. That said, I would still call these guys back for my next repair rather than DIY. I'm a first time customer who will call these guys the next time something goes wrong with the door.

Roberts Garage Pro's in Chicago is fantastic. Called RGP's and the owner picked up. Robby was on his way out to the suburbs and turned around to stop by my house to help me out. He had been out 2 years prior when one of my springs broke and the door came off track. This time the main controller in the garage was not responding. He completely rewired the system from the remote to the opener and neatly ran the cable up through my garage rafters. Fast, Reliable and neat. I'll pass there name on to my friends and family.

They were very old and needed to be replaced, so he came out the very next day and replaced them with new torsion springs and new rollers. He also correctly hung and rewired the eyes - FOR FREE. We live in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. We called Garage Pros about 6:30pm on a Saturday. Left a message, Robbie called back in 5 minutes, took an educated guess as to what was wrong (later proved to be 100% correct!) and gave us a time he was coming the next day (Sunday!). Robbie really has his act together. Very professional, knowledgeable and an honest man. Up front about the cost of everything and gave us some discounts due to numerous needed repairs. He went above and beyond for our repair. We had a broken spring but, instead of just fixing that, he replaced some old rollers, put some new struts on the door and found a defective part in the opener and (of course) had the parts right there to fix that. He even oiled the chain on our driveway gate. You shouldn't even think of calling anyone else. I will recommend Robbie and his business to anyone. Class act. Heads up to Robbie's competitors!...I would start looking for a new business if I were you. This guy is going to corner the market. Good for him (and us). Good luck, Robbie. *** UPDATE *** I called Robbie after having my electric gate opener looked at twice by another (reputable) company. After the 2nd service call to the other company, they said my controller board was fried and the only option was to replace with a new garage opener. Including install, this would have cost me $2650. Robbie came to my house within 24 hours. I actually was just asking him for a quote to install a new opener. Instead of just rushing to get me a quote, he asked about the problem and sat outside for an hour in 95 degree weather troubleshooting all of the electrical connections. He was able to perform a bypass to allow the gate to close / reclose perfectly. He only charged me $100 for this work. This is the 2nd time I have used Robbie. He just saved me $2500. He has made a customer for life. A true gentleman with integrity. Thank you Robbie.
